Wesley Wood was due to become a first time father in a fortnigh

Wesley was a bona fide Quidditch junkie and a Puddlemore United season ticket holder.

Wesley had always been a defensive guy. He loved the concept of someone stopping someone else. As such, his favorite position in Quidditch was Keeper.

Naturally, Wesley's favorite Puddlemore United player was their Keeper, Oliver Deny.

Oliver Deny was a very superb Keeper who consistently had the highest save percentage amongst all Keepers in the British and Irish Quidditch leagues.

On this day, Wesley was attending Puddlemore United's match against the Montrose Magpies.

Oliver Deny was on top on his game in this match. Despite the Montrose Magpies Chasers thoroughly outplaying the Chasers of Puddlemore United, as evidenced by a 30-4 disparity in shot attempts, Puddlemore United still lead 20-0 before the Puddlemore United Seeker caught the Golden Snitch to clinch a 170-0 win becuase Oliver Deny had seen thirty shots and stopped all thirty of them.

Wesley, in the afterglow of the win and in awe of his hero's spectacular performance, made his mind up right then and there.

Wesley would be naming his son Oliver Wood.

Being the sports fanatic and Quidditch junkie that he was, Wesley's fondest hope was that his son would grow up to play his favorite position, Keeper, for his favorite team, Puddlemore United.

Wesley had tried out for the Gryffindor Quidditch Team at Keeper, but lost out to a boy in his year named Steven Swat. He'd gone on to become Hogwarts Quidditch commentator instead and this position had totally hooked Wesley on Quidditch.

He hoped, however, that his son could be a great Quidditch Keeper. Wesley would teach his son the sport of Quidditch from a young age and train him to be a Keeper from the start. With good hard training, Wesley hoped that his son would become the Keeper for his house Quidditch team at Hogwarts and eventually Keeper for Puddlemore United.

Puddlemore United would have another great Oliver keeping for them a generation later if things went as Wesley hoped they would.

For now, Wesley would savor the joy of becoming a father and delight in naming his son after his idol.

His son would be Oliver Wood.

"Someday, " mused Wesley to himself, "Oliver Wood will be the Keeper for Puddlemore United. I know it in my heart of hearts."
