The coming weeks weren't pleasant for anyone. Everyone was still worried about Phantalmina. She stayed most of the time in bed, laying down. And when she got up she turned the next two banded ones in their larger form and went outside to buy more food for everyone. And mostly after that, she locked herself in the office to write her songs.
It was like the Blood-band case all over again, except this time she was mad at them and they knew who to blame for it.
Goth seemed pleased having things easier for him. A warmer place to roost, and he still received good food to eat, even though it wasn't always the one he wanted. But then again, he couldn't complain about it. He wasn't going to through all this to the waist now that he got all the comfort he got for the rest of the winter. Well, almost all. There was still something in the corner of his eye that he wanted. He just needed a little more time.
As for the others, some of them were worried about Phantalmina. Ashley flew closer to roost next to her, hoping to have any chance to talk to her. Sadly she didn't give her. When she was out Justin waited for her to come back from the grocery shopping and then followed her to the office with Munkustrap. Bur when coming close to the door, they stayed behind. Because of the Blood-bands, she made it clear she didn't want them in the office. So they stayed waiting for her to come back out. Justin stayed mostly there while Munkustrap left to check on others. Sometimes Ashley accompanied Justin to get another chance to see her. That was mostly what they tried to do. Hoping that she would talk to them again and forgives them.
But so far, nothing happened. Justin and Ashley waited for something coming from the office. Hear her voice starting to argue or telling them to go away, or at least some kind of response. But nothing.
"You don't think something bad had happened to her in there?" Ashley worried.
"No," Justin said. "We all would have felt that if it would have happened."
They stayed there watching and waiting. But still, just like days before, nothing. After an hour or two, Ashley yawed a little. Justin figured what it was.
"Ashley, how about you go back and rest. I'll inform you if she responds," he said to her.
"No. I don't want to," she said. "I might come across him again."
"Goth?" he guessed. "Is he bothering you?"
Of course, she didn't want to talk about it, but the roll of her eyes said enough. "I swear if I come across with him I might punch him for good."
"Please do. I won't mind," Justin smiled a little jokingly. "Munkustrap and others might like that too."
"Not funny, Justin,"
"I know, I'm sorry," he apologized. "But may I ask what does he want from you?"
"I don't know and I don't care," she said. "Because of him, Mina is like this and he seems to enjoy it."
"I agree on that," Justin said. "But still you might need rest, and I will inform you if something is happening."
"Alright, I'll go." she said trying not to yawn again."But you will tell me if she lets you in. "
"If she let me in." Justin clarified. "I will let you know."
She nodded and flew back to the stage. She flew through the back to get there quicker. But right before she got to pillar where others were roosting...
"Hola, señorita."
'Oh for heaven sakes...' she cursed inside. Not this. "Leave me alone."
"Aww. What's the matter? Still turned away by a child?"
That was one of the things that made her insides burn.
"Don't you dare speak to me about that!" she growled at him.
He simply chuckled at her threats.
"Oh come now. I wasn't the one who hurt her feelings," he smiled evilly.
"And yet you made things worse."
"Oh did I?" he played. "Oh no, preciosa. I simply requested a better resting place, and with that, I've been more gentle with your human child. All this is because you didn't share anything about our little conversation with her."
That smirk of his was urging her to give back at him. It was taking all the strength and willpower in her to not hit him hard to erase that evil smug off his face. No. Not now, she thought and turned away. She won't give him the satisfaction for that.
"Hmm. I do wonder," he said with a tantalizing voice as he moved closer.. "...will she want you at her side after this?"
Those words were like a claw that cut the final nerve. And for that moment she really wanted to hit him. She didn't care about the agreements or rules. She swang her claws at him as she turned around to knock him down. For his luck, she missed by an inch when he pulled back. After seeing that her attempt was in vain, she breathed hard and tried so hard to hold her tears.
"You don't know her. You don't know anything," she said trying to hide the hurt in her.
And with that, she flew away back to others hoping that he won't follow her.
Goth watched her leave with a grin forming on his face.
"Oh, I know señorita. I know."
