CHAPTER 11

—--Day 37

On the last day of their stay in Eireaball, Sarah had everything counted. 7228 gold, 2453 silver, and 805 coppers.

Sarah's split was a big bag of jewelry which made two huge bags of jewelry. Sarah got 3614 gold, 1226 silver and 402 coppers. She had bagged up Cal's split and set it aside of four and a half big bags of gold, one and a half bags of silver, and a half bag of coppers. Sarah wrote down the totals for Cal to keep track of.

Sarah had in her locket now, 9440 gold,1750 silver, and 1200 coppers. That was a lot of money. Cal and both of the girls carried over the stash to Cal's stable and put it down where he wanted it.

Sarah handed him the paper with the total amounts on it to Cal. Cal said, "Ye be a fine woman Sar. I be missin' yer wisdom in makin' me a wealthy man."

Sarah said, "You just be safe Cal and try to do some good deeds with it too ok?" He smiled and kissed her cheek and Brie's too, making Brie blush.

Cal said, "I be seein' ya in tha morning, lassies." They waved goodbye and went back to the hotel. Sarah and Brie had dinner and wine then went back to the room to get their gear packed up and ready to go for the morning. They both took hot baths, washed their hair and washed all their clothes up and let it dry. Sarah dumped out the jewelry from both bags and was splitting it up in piles of earrings, necklace, bracelet, chains, pendants, watches, rings, hair accessories, gold, silver, and ect.

Sarah and Brie got what they wanted to keep for their jewelry pouches. Sarah divided them in bags separately silver from gold and condensed it down into one bag once organized.

Brie said, laying her head on Sarah's shoulder, "I be hopin'… all those people found peace."

Sarah patted her and said, "I do too, baby girl." Sarah and Brie went to bed and fell asleep hard.

—--Day 38

Sarah and Brie said their goodbyes to everyone in Eireaball. They rode north to the capital city of Adharc. Sarah decided to stay a week. It was a day's ride so they got there after sundown. Sarah looked for an inn on the west side of the city because that was the direction they would head when they left. Sarah found one with a stable nearby. The inn was busy.

Sarah walked up to the innkeeper and said, "Excuse me, may I have a room for the week?"

He looked her up and down and said, "Eight silver a night, meals five coppers, three fer drinks. Room ten." Sarah gave him six gold and he gave her four silver. Sarah took the key and went and dropped her bags, locked the door and went and got Brie and her bags and dropped them off too. Sarah locked the door and Brie put a chair under the door. Sarah went and boarded the horses. For six coppers a day.

Sarah went back to the inn and knocked on the door and said, "It's me baby." She went in and the room wasn't bad. They fed five week old Azrael his meat puree and milk mixture from the little half pint bottle in a little bowl. Sarah had to chew up meat real fine and spit it out in the milk. It was gross but wouldn't spoil it at least. He lasted longer on the more solid mix and wasn't waking up so much to feed in the night. Sarah watched his poop and made sure he wasn't having a reaction. He was going to have to go potty outside eventually. He was starting to spend more time outside the pouch but sits in it when Sarah is riding. Sarah wanted to get a bigger pouch for the horse because he is getting to weigh like seven to eight pounds or more and it is getting to her neck.

Sarah and Brie go down to eat cloaked and gloved. They sat at the counter and Sarah said to the innkeeper, "Two dinners and wines, please." Sarah sat out one silver, six coppers. He took her money and got her two wines and went to get the dinners.

When he came back, he said, "So where ye from? Ye talk funny."

Sarah said, "I'm from far far away."

He asked, "Are ya thinkin' bout' goin' ta Crúb? It be snowed under again. Bein' yer here fer a week it might be gettin' clear again."

Sarah said, "Thanks, I'm Sar. This is my little one, Bri. We are going to Crúb next. We might be lucky to go there at the end of the week. Do you know where a jeweler is?"

He said, "I be Thaniel. Me brother an meself are the innkeepers. He be Willem. I think there be a jeweler bout' five blocks down, take a right and go down three blocks. He be on the left." Sarah thanked him.

Sarah and Brie finished their meal and went upstairs to settle in for the night. Azrael was trying to wrestle with a little chunk of wood when they entered the room. Sarah took off her cloak and belt and scooped up Azrael and kissed his nose. He tried licking her nose. Sarah giggled and cuddled him. She sat him down and he was so dumpy wobbling and running trying to walk better. Being carried around all the time can't be good.

Sarah and Brie got in bed that night and the pup got in position nuzzling Sarah under the chin. Sarah scratched his little head. Brie cuddled up to Sarah too. She had a little family of baby wolves and little girls. Sarah sighed and rubbed on them until everyone fell asleep.

—--

In a kingdom next door, Jareth had a wish away and it was his chance to look for Sarah. He went up to do his duty in the Aboveground. Like last time he had his advisor do the rest.

Jareth went to Ireland and looked into Sarah's disappearance. He found the cousin's from a letter on the table in front not if her father with an address in Ireland. He dressed as a professional business man and knocked on the door. He introduced himself to a big man that looked like he was in the human military and said he was a friend of Sarah's. The man introduced himself as her Uncle Kenny. He told him everything he knew. Her car was parked down the road of Newgrange Mound and she was investigating the new location they found. He told him that her team all went home for the night and she said she wanted to stay a little longer and she was never seen again.

Jareth needed to get inside that mound. He thanked Kenny and left for the Newgrange Mound. It was night and nobody was there. He was transported to the entrance and went inside. He made a crystal illuminate to light the passageway. He looked at everything on the walls and went to a narrow passageway that went to the left and saw the magic coming from the portal. He knew what happened to Sarah, she was in the Underground.

He used his crystal and did another location spell for Sarah and saw her in a dark room asleep in a bed with a girl and a wolf pup. She looked different. He did a location spell to know where she was and he found out it was the Unicorn Kingdom. He did another location spell on the portal and it was in The Outlands. She has been traveling through the Underground this whole time. He was getting angry. The spoiled girl hopefully has changed, but he knew she was as stubborn and cruel as she always was.

He said out loud, "I can't do anything until she is in my kingdom. I'll keep tabs on you now that I know where you are, Sarah." He transported himself to the Underground to the Goblin Kingdom to deal with the runner.

—--Day 39

Sarah woke up and still had her little ones on her. She picked up her sleepy puppy and kissed his nose. She stroked Brie's cheek and she started to stir. Brie looked at the puppy over her head and giggled. Azrael let out a, "Whoo…. Whoooo…" They both laughed. Brie sat up and petted Azrael. Sarah went to the privy and they made a fire to warm the room up again. Sarah fed Azrael. They put away their stuff and and got on their girl clothes of long skirts, leggings, boots, long sleeve peasant blouses, outside corsets and belts with coin purse, knives and boot knives. Sarah was all in green with her black corset and black belt. Brie was in a black skirt, white blouse with a fancy burgundy corset with a baroque pattern. Brie had a little necklace on with a teardrop Garnet and matching earrings that clip on. Her long blonde hair Sarah pulled back with hair combs. Sarah did the same but had in her owl pendant and small green emerald earrings.

Brie said, "Sar, yer eyes be so green an pretty in tha dress."

Sarah said, "Your blue eyes are pretty too. Let's put on a little makeup." Brie smiled and nodded yes. Sarah made each of them up with light makeup. Sarah showed her in the mirror. Brie started to cry.

Sarah said, "What is the matter, baby girl?"

Brie said, "Ye made me look pretty."

Sarah hugged her and said, "When will you believe me that you are pretty, honey? I keep telling you and you know I can't lie." She looked at her eyes running. Sarah took a washcloth and wiped her eyes without messing it up and kissed her forehead. Sarah put a little lip tint on her.

She grabbed Azrael and put him in his pouch because Sarah had something in mind. She picked out the nicer pieces of about a dozen pieces of jewelry that might fetch a price and put them in a leather bag and tied to a ring on her belt. She also wanted to go to a cobbler or tanner to get a bigger bag made for Azrael to grow into and cross her body with a flap he can open to peek out. She just wanted to treat Brie to shopping but somewhat practical. Sarah spilled out coins from her locket on the bed. She counted out fifty gold and put it in a smaller bag and hung it from her belt under her skirt to hang down. Brie still had twenty two gold on her and Sarah had twenty four in her purse on the outside.

Sarah took out twelve coppers for breakfast. They put on their cloaks with their hair in front to the side and went downstairs for breakfast. A different human man, about late twenties, was behind the counter. This must be Willem.

Sarah smiled, sat down with Brie at the counter and said, "Good morning, may we have two breakfasts and two teas please?"

The young man was smiling and said, "Sure, on sec." He went to the back and brought back two teas and went back and got two plates of eggs, mutton steaks, fried hash and toast. He even brought butter and jam.

Sarah smiled and said, "Thank you. I met your brother last night, Thaniel. But we were in our traveling clothes and looked like men or boys. My name is Sar and this is Brie."

He put out his hand and turned it over and kissed the back of her hand and said, "Pleased to meet such beautiful ladies so early in tha morning." Brie giggled. Sarah puts her hood down in her cloak and he has a shocked face. Brie put her hood down too.

He said, "You have dark hair and your fae."

Sarah said, "I'm not from here. I'm from a very very far away place where people have dark hair. I was raised by humans, so I'm very different." Sarah cut up her steak. Azrael poked his head out of her cloak sniffing. Sarah giggled because Willem's eye bugged out.

He said, "That be a black wolf?"

Sarah said, "Yes, a man killed his mother in the woods where I was camping and she killed him too but he crushed two littermates falling down dead. This one was crying for his dead mother and I saved him. Just like my little one here, she's my little sister now. They are my family."

He said, "Ye don' act like fae, most only care bout' emselves'."

Sarah looked up at him and said, "No, I'm very different. I guess I'm a mix of fae and human. Willem, do you know where I can find a cobbler or tanner to make a bag out of fur and leather for me?"

He said, "Sure, ye need ta go down ta tha left an down four blocks on the left. It be the Tanner."

Sarah smiled and said, "Thank you." She gave Azrael a little bit of egg. He smacked his lips and said, "Grr… Whoo…" they all laughed. Sarah patted him.

Sarah and Brie were all bundled up in gloves and cloaks closed up. Sarah had Brie's hand. They walked to the Tanner and he was very nice and made her a little collar in black leather and extra holes and long for Azrael to grow in. It had a little silver buckle. He had leather balls made from leather scraps. It was filled with scrap leather and sewed closed to a smother outside. It was perfect for a teething pup. Sarah got three. He also was making a crossbody bag out of an already made fur large Messenger Bag size. He turned it inside out and left the flap on it open but had a fastener. He measured Sarah for the length of the heavy strap to go around her opposite shoulder and rest on her hip or front when walking or riding. He was shocked to see the pup peek out of Sarah's cloak at him.

Sarah said, "I didn't buy him. He was all that was left in the woods after a man killed his whole family, but the man died too. The mother got him. I was sorry for them all, but the man. I was camping between towns."

He said, "They be sellin' em' fer four hundred gold. They be brutes about it too. That be a sad story ye told."

Sarah said, "Life can be that way. It's all about how you pick yourself up and dust yourself to carry on and survive." The man nodded.

He said, "No wiser words. Here ye be. A new way fer the lil' mite ta travel more comfortable and very warm. It be five gold, six silver." Sarah gave him the gold and silver. She put it on over her head and picked up Azrael. She kissed his head and put him in the bigger bag he growled and grunted in there. His little head poked out and he said, "Whoo…" Sarah laughed. She thanked him and she took Brie's hand. They went to the jeweler's and walked in, Sarah was looking at all the pretty jewelry in the cases.

A sixty year old human man came out and said, "Good morning, how may I help you?" Sarah let Brie look and walked up to the counter

Sarah said, "Good morning, to you also. I was wanting to see if you might let me sell some pieces I have no use for." She pulled out the pouch and laid out the pieces.

The man looked at them examining them and said, "Let's see…" he started writing down figures. He said, "How about 291 gold."

Sarah said, "That would be fine."

He counted out 291 coins and she put it in the leather bag and tied it to her belt. She walked over to Brie and was looking at what she was looking at.

Brie said,"Tha little watch be like yers ona chain but smaller. " Sarah kissed her head and asked to see the little pocket watch on a chain. He pulled it out and Sarah looked it over. It was a little twenty six hour watch with a scrollwork cover in silver with a blue face instead of black like hers. It winds up like her own.

He said, "It's six gold." Sarah paid him and thanked him. She asked for the time and Sarah showed Brie how to set it and wind it not too tight. Sarah clipped it to Brie's belt and tucked it in her corset. Brie was all smiles. Sarah tucked the bag inside her skirt and said goodbye to the man.
