Welcome everyone, it's nice to see that some of you are back from the original story. Whether it be one, or two, its still nice to have you back.

I also apologize for my past self, some of the times when I addressed things in the beggining of chapters I didn't sound the nicest.

Well, without anything else to address, lets continue yeah? Enjoy the read, I hope you'll have as much fun reading it as I did writing it.

Dawn of the first day

Subaru stared in shock, in front of him was Felt. Alive, and living, not down on the floor gushing out blood from hundreds of cuts. But how could that be?.. Subaru looked at his own hands as he stopped breathing. He quickly unzipped his pullover and pulled his shirt up, placing a hand over his stomach. Which wasn't split open, and all his intestines were still inside. He took a quick inhale of air as he looked back at Felt. Who had an expression of terror, disgust, repulsion and worry. To be fair, he did just unzip and pull some of his clothes halfway off.

"The hell are you doing?!"

"Nothing! I was just.. checking something."

"And how do you know my name?! What are you some crazy stalker?"

"No! Course I'm not! You're like 13 or something I'll be 18 this year! That would be p-"

"15"

"What?'

"I'm 15. And since you don't know my actual age that must mean you're just stupid and not some creepy stalker."

"Huh, whatever that doesn't matter. What matters is, Felt, that today you're gonna get a letter from a buyer. They're gonna offer you 20 holy coins for an insignia, but you can't get that insignia! You can't even be at old man Roms shop when the buyers supposed to be there! Because the buyer is gonna kill you! You can't take the deal! Seriously! Just tell Rom to leave the shop and stay somewhere el-"

"Alright alright! I've heard enough. How do you even know all of this stuff? Are you some stupid business competitor trying to screw over his opponent? If I get a deal for 20 holy coins I'm taking it. You're seriously creepy and suspicious, if you want to ruin the competition pay me for whatever insignia you need yourself. Otherwise, get out of my way!"

Before Subaru could even think of a way for her to stop and listen to him she pushed past Subaru while grumbling annoyed. Subaru reached a hand to her to stop her or grab her but no. She was gone already. Subaru stared in shock, did he just ruin his second chance at life in this world? Out of frustration he punched the wall in front of him, and he immediatly recoiled his hand, who knew that punching a wall with your bare fist could hurt this much!

"Ow! Fuckin bastard murderer"

He mumbled to himself as he held and rubbed his hands. His knuckles were sore now, great job Subaru ya idiot. He walked out of the alleyway, he didn't even see Felt in the far distance. She was completely gone! Fits her, this isn't the first time he's been abandoned by her. heh.

'Damn it all! Felt doesn't believe me now and she thinks I'm some creepy business competitor! Well, maybe I can convince old man Rom! That way, if he doesn't want her to do the mission she'll probably listen to him! Yeah, I'll go with that.'

He began walking, he had a clear goal in mind. This shouldn't take so long, and he probably shouldn't waste any time like last time. If all things come to worse, he could maybe make a deal with the murderer... Who's he kidding! What does he have to offer to a damn murderer?! Food?! His GUTS again?! It's either this, or it's over. Unfortunatly, he was taken to this world without time to prepare so he didn't have the time to pack his bags... Neither did he have time to say goodbye, for whatever that matters.

Subaru had been walking for a while, he still wasn't used to this place at all. Though he remembered some of the way he forgot most of it. He was lost again, seems like he'll just have to search the area until he sees the shop. Hopefully by then Felt is done showing old man Rom the jewels and has already departed on her other comission.

Eventaully Subaru had made his way to the shop. Or is it a bar? Well that slum guy with the cat ears said it was a shop so he probably wasn't lying, what would he gain from lying to Subaru? That trail of thought quickly disappeared as Subaru made it to the door However, it was probably better to check the windows first, because if Felt was here she could ruin his plan completly. He slowly stumbled over to one of the windows, looking inside he saw no one. Good thing Felt wasn't there to ruin his plan.

'Time to g-'

"Look who it is, my stalker."

"Woah!- The hell?! Where were you?!"

"I was leaving old man Roms place and I got a bad feeling so I came back. Just to see you, again."

'This isn't gonna end well is it?'

"I already told old man Rom about you! And he completely agrees with me so you didn't even have a chance at convincing him!"

"W-well I'm not lying! I'm not a stalker or a buisness competitor! You see, I have already liv-"

He was cut off. He couldn't move, or breathe, he could look around himself, and see that nothing else was moving. Had time stopped? He had no idea what he had done or why the hell this was happening nor what the hell the thing that is happening even is. Last thing he did was try to tell Felt about his last life to convince her he was telling the truth. Suddenly, he could feel the air around him get colder. A black purple-ish fog covered the world around him as he was suddenly now in a dark void of nothing. He still had no idea what was happening, every second felt like ten years as he saw two glowing eyes appear in the fog beyond him. A hand, lined in purple light slowly inched closer to him. His eyes were fixated on it as it came closer. Eventaully, it would make contact with him. It was cold, searingly cold.

It relaxed it's fingers on his chest. where his heart would be. He took a quick glance up back at the eyes just to see that they were just about directly in front of him He could make out the faint light purple outline of a girl with long flowing hair attached to the eyes as they stared into his. The hand phased through his body, he could feel the searing cold of it move through him as it reached towards his heart. Gently grazing it's fingers across his heart as the figure stared into his eyes.

"I love you"

What?

"I love you. I love you. I love you."

What do they mean? Who is this person? What are they doing to him and why do they love him? Subaru had thousands of questions as his body began searing in cold pain. The hand gently scooped up his heart, it was holding his heart as the figure continued confessing her love to him. Suddenly he felt his heart be crushed by her hand, any trail of thought he had was isntantly cut off by the amount of pain he felt through his heart as the figure continued staring into his eyes.

He couldn't think, he couldn't focus on anything but the figures eyes as it continued saying the same thing over and over and over again to him. He felt his heart continue being crushed by her hand, it felt like he was about to crumble apart and rip into hundreds of pieces as she continued crushing his heart. But in a sudden burst it was over, the void was gone. He could see things moving again and most importantly the figure and her hand was gone.

Subaru fell to his knees as he grasped his chest, where his heart would be, tightly with both of his hands as he choked on air. His upper body fell down from the amount of pain he still felt. He used one hand to stablize himself, placing it flat on the ground as he continued taking in deep and heavy breaths. He kept clutching his chest for a couple more seconds before taking a deep inhale of air and slowly standing back up. He was breathing sharply as he looked down at Felt. Who looked confused, scared, worried the whole lot.

"Are you okay bro???"

"..Uh, yeah, totally. But still you suouldnt take that comission. I'm not lying! I'm not trying to scam yo-"

"Okay, I'm sorry about whatever condition you have. But I still wont believe you, if you want my trust just buy the inisgnia yourself instesd of doing this. Now leave old man Rom's shop! I don't want you bothering him!"

.. All else failed. Subaru looked at Felt, she wasn't even gonna let him go inside Rom's shop. How can he save them? There was a reason why he got a second chance right? There has to be! Subaru looked at Felt, but she was dead serious, and he hand was reaching towards her sword. Subaru decided it was best he leave for now, he needs to find a way to stop that murderer from killing her. He could call the guards, but even they couldn't possibly beat her! Plus, they'd just arrest Felt! Why was he put into this world without any powers?

Subaru sighed and began walking, Felt followed him for the next couple minutes from a couple meters behind before disappearing towards the capital. Subaru eventaully stopped at another alleyway. He looked inside, no one was inside. He walked in and sat down with his arms on his knees as he was deep in thought.

'What can I do?... What can I do?! Come on! Seriously! what can I do?! Me! Why was I the one tasked with this bullshit?! Why did I of all people get a second chance to redeem my choices just to fuck it all over again?! Why me? Why was I teleported here?! Why couldn't I just get back home to my parents?! Why couldn't I just sleep in my own bed.. why couldn't I just... Why can't I be home?..'

Subaru looked down at the ground as he slumped over. He was alone again, the one friend he had gotten died before his very eyes and now she thinks he's some creepy psycho. He just wants to save her, why's it so hard to be a hero? He was the one who was sent here, Natsuki Subaru, not anyone else. He was sent here for a reason, yet he wasn't gifted any powers or any item, nothing. He wasnt given an end goal, he wasnt given a damn purpose. And now he can't do anything. He can't even ensure the safety of the girl who showed him kindess. He's gonna have to watch her die again, the same with old man Rom and the same with that poor girl he stole from...

'..Wait.. THE GIRL!'

Subaru stood up from the ground as he ram out of the alleyway in a hurry. He looked at the capital, before he ran towards it.

'If I can't stop Felt from doing the comission, I can stop her from getting the insignia. If I get that elf's trust I can get her to help me! That way, no one dies!"

And even if Subaru only had half a plan, not knowing if the elf can actually take the murderer one on one nor if she would even believe him, he would still go for his plan and believe in it. Because it was the last stray light of hope he had.

Subaru was in the capital again, the girl certainly lived here. Otherwise why would she be here? And even if she was visiting it couldn't be for one day, cars don't exist so travel is probably really slow. She had to be here somewhere. He looked around the city, he still had some wonder left in him as he looked at the Stalls. People were at every street, some had cat ears, some had tails. Some were completely reptilian and covered in scales. It was quite the odd sight, lizard people, cat people, dog people the whole lot. Though of course the majority was still completely human. Subaru couldn't tell where the hell he was, he couldn't read any signs so he didn't know where to go. The Stalls around him sold things he hadn't seen before, weird crystals, shining armor and swords all around. Of course there were still things he had seen before, fruit Stalls, food Stalls, clothing stores and resturants. It was a nice breath of fresh air to have a small amount of familiarity when it came to these stores.

Because even if he couldn't read the signs that said what type of store the building was he could still tell what they were by the products they were selling. Too bad he didn't have even a penny to his name. He saw the very same fruit stand he saw the day before.. or the life before? Whatever, either way he was selling apples so he wanted to see how much an apple really did cost. He walked over to the fruit stand, holding his bag in his hand as he pointed at the apple.

"Hey, what's this?"

"It's an appa, ya want some kid?"

"Oh uh I'm completely flat brok-"

"The hell are you doing wasting my time then?! Get away from my shop you broke idiot, you'll turn off potential buyers!"

"Sorry sorry! I'll be one my way."

Subaru walked away while smiling apologetically. The green haired man yelling at him one more time as he got the hell away. He continued looking around for the girl, eventually, yet again he was met with an alleyway. I actually was right when I said alleyways were gonna be a reoccurring thing in this story huh. Anyways he hadn't seen anything in the area around him so he decided he'd look for her at the oppisite side of this alleyway. As he entered the alleyway and he turned the corner he was soon stopped by the same trio of thugs as last time.

"Hey there buddy, if you're intendin' on passin' by just fork over all ya goods and there won't be any trouble."

Now Subaru was pretty confident in this battle, last time he met lanky, shorty and fatty he just punched lanky in the face and ran for it. But well, he can't really be running anymore so, this might not end as well as last time. Subaru of course, doesn't acknowledge this and thinks it'll go just exactly the same..

"Fine fine, im not looking for any trouble, here ya go."

He said in a defeated tone, the three thugs laughed rather cockily as he walked over to directly infront of them. He reached his hands over while opening the bag. Lanky leaned down a bit to look inside before Subaru suddenly put the bag over Lanky's head and pulled him away. He turned him around and continued walking backwards as he pulled the bag against his head, Lanky thrashed about trying to not suffocate but was quickly put out by a quick knee to the b a l l s. Subaru then pushed him into a wall and looked at the others, unluckily fatty had taken notice rather quickly and was already straight infront of him. Subaru dodged the rather big fist that was hurtling towards him as he then grabbed his arm and twisted it in different directions.

"I can fight too you know!"

He said as fatty fell over. He looked towards shorty, who was rather bravely running at him. Unfortunately being brave isn't really the greatest thing when it comes to these situations, because he was swiftly knocked out by a kick to the face knocking him into the wall. Shorty was out cold. Subaru turned around towards the other two.

"Thats what you get for going 3 on 1, also for being thugs. I hope you learned your lesso-"

"HEEEEELP I CANT FUCKING BREATHE"

Lanky still had the bag wrapped around his face. He was trying to tear the plastic off as he was literally dying. Subaru, now in a flurry of panic ran over and got the bag off his head.

"I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry oh my god I'm sorry-"

He said as he looked at Lanky, who was now also completely out cold from loss of oxygen. Subaru face palmed with both of his hands as he had just almost killed a man. Luckily this was all finally dealt with so he could just disappear and find that gir-

"Halt at once criminal!"

"Huh? YOU AGAIN?!"

Subaru looked at the exit of the alleyway, just to see the very same short purple haired knight, Julius at the exit of it. Come on! Seriously? He has to tussle with the fire bender again?! Oh wait, he's not a criminal this time! It's actually a genuine misunderstanding this time around! He can get out of this scot free and maybe ask about the elf from his last life!

"Wait wait! Before you accuse me of anything! These three are thugs! They ganged up on me and told me they'd only let me past them if I gave them all my stuff! It was just self defense! Trust m-"

And before Subaru knew it Julius ran at him. He didn't even know why! He was explaining himself and he was making quite the good story! He watched as Julius charged his fist right at his face and punched right past his face and behind him. He heard a loud thud and a small crash as he stared at Julius and then behind him. Just to see lanky hunched against the now broken wall, two knives close to his hands.

"Holy shit he had knives! I could've died!"

"Yes, he had gotten up and was intending to stab you while you were explaining the situation."

"Luckily you saved my life- Thank you for that!"

"There is no need to thank me, it is my job as a knight."

"Hey, actually, I think I know you. You're Julius right?"

"Oh! You know me! I apologize, we must have met before. I do not remember your name, I deeply apologize." He did one of those bows with a hand on his chest.

"No no! I just know who you are, I haven't actually met you before!"

"Ah, I see. Well then, if you do not mind what is your name?"

"I am Natsuki Subaru, not only am I flat broke but now I'm indebted to you!" He did the pose where he points to the sky, you know the one don't you?

"Haha, there is no debt. I was simply doing my job, not to say I would not have saved you if it were not required."

"Thank you, Julius, I know this might be a bit much to ask of you, but please could you meet me at old man Roms shop tomorrow evening? You being there could mean the life of people."

"Of course, if it means the life of innocents, I would be there. May I know of some of the details however?"

'Wouldn't say innocent..'

"Well, one of my friends Felt, is going to get a request to steal from a long silver haired elf. Specifically an insignia is what she needs to steal. The elf can also use magic and has some weird furry cat thing that floats around her. But, you see, the buyer is going to kill her and her grandpa. Trust me, she isn't some evil thief who thinks of herself, she's almost by herself and she's just trying to make a living so she can get out of the slums. Please, have some sympathy and be there for her, I don't want her dead. I'll even make her return the insignia!"

Subaru had his hands clasped together as he bowed down, begging the knight to turn a blind eye to the crime and save her life.

"Shes stealing from lady E-...Subaru, as a knight I cannot turn a blind eye to crime. But neither can I turn a blind eye to murder, I will be there, but your friend will also face consequ-"

"Thank you! Thank you so much! Please, if you could, make sure her punishment is not too severe, she cannot pay much! But thank you Julius!"

"Huh, of course, as a kni-"

"-ght it's your job to help others? I get the gist already!"

"I suppose I've said that one too many times."

"Well, thank you Julius. I'll have to go now however! Your company was great, but I've got someone important to find!"

"Then until tomorrow Subaru."

"Until tomorrow!"

He said with a smile and a wave as he left the three criminals to Julius before leaving the alleyway. He then went back to looking for the long silver haired elf, he just got a knight to agree that he would be there at the fight. Now all that's left is getting the half elf on her side, and maybe even stopping Felt from getting the insignia. Though that may be a little bit counterintuitive for this plan, he'll have to think things through tomorrow fully. Hopefully he could just find her today and get her to understand by tomorrow.

"Come ooooonnn!"

Subaru was sitting down on a bench, he was hunched over with his eyes closed as he had a small frown on his face. He swears he had searched this entire kingdom twice over! And yet still! No sight of this this elf girl! How could looking for one girl be so hard... She even stands out among the other people! Subaru is either blind or horribly ignorant, he doesn't really care which one is the right one he just wants to find this girl already, though, he did have time until tomorrow. And when thinking it over, she might not even be here yet.

'Oh well, I'm starving'

Sighing Subaru reached into her plastic back, unfortunatly him dying meant anything physical he did in the last world didn't carry over. Or well, he wasn't sure if he would get anymore chances. Though, in video games you usually start with three lives, Subaru wasn't really sure. He reached into his plastic bag, taking out a water bottle and opening it. As he took a large glug of it he stared infront of himself. Watching a cart passed by, and for just a split he saw inside the cart from one of the windows, a long silver haired girl inside of it.

"Its h-"

He coughed up a bunch of water as he tried to talk and gasp while drinking water, instead inhaling a ludicrous amount of water into his lungs. He looked at the carriage as it moved past him, he put the cap on the bottle and threw it in his bag as he began tailing the wagon.

'Its her!!!'

Subaru continued tailing the wagon, occasionally catching glimpses inside. And after a bit he could confidently confirm that it was infact the elf from his last life. And he was pretty sure he hadn't been spotted by them, so he was lucky for that. Eventaully they would stop at a post office, how Subaru knew the building they had stopped at was you ask? Well they had put a rather big wooden envelope on the top of the building, thank God for logos! Subaru watched as the elf left the wagon and entered the post office, Subaru walked over to one of the windows, looking through the glass and watching the elf go inside.

"What is it that you are doing?"

"Watching."

"Watching who?"

"The el- wait wait who the fu-"

Subaru turned around and looked at the pink haired maid infront of him. In a maid dress and everything, it was a bit shocking to Subaru, seeing something like in the real world is not something he would expect. But, this isnt the real world. This is another world.

"Why were you following our wagon?"

"Uh, well, actually- you see I have some questions for you.. and if you don't mind answering them uh, here they are. You're a maid right? Do you belong to the elf in the building here?"

"No. I belong to the Mathers household, she is a tennant."

"Ah, I see. In that case, I will be gone. Goodbye."

Subaru realized now that he really shouldn't be doing things on impulse, that really isn't too good an idea. He disappeared into an alleyway. He stood there, leaning his back against a wall as he was in thought.

"I need to take these things more seriously... It could mean my life.. It could mean Felt's life."

He said as he looked at the wall infront of him, he was thinking outloud. He's certainly put himself at a disadvantage now, that maid's gonna be weary and things might not go to plan as usual. Though, Felt is pretty smart. Subaru needs to give her credit, she could probably steal the elf's insignia if she was even activly avoiding her. Which is just going to make it harder for Subaru to stop her from getting the insignia...

'But what if I don't? Hm, maybe I could help the elf get her insignia back while saving Felt. She might even reward me! Yes, that seems like the most plausible plan here. Alright, but, clearly not today. Felt didn't even go for the insignia until tomorrow... Guess I gotta sleep on the floor tonight..'

Suddenly the small amount of light that crawled into the alleyway from the entrance to it was blocked. The figure of a maid being cast onto the light inside the alleyway. Subaru looked over, it was the maid again. What exactly was she doing here, it isn't a maids duty to investigate suspicious people.. right?

"Hey there. Questions, right?"

She nodded.

"Trust me, I'm not up to anything bad. I just want the best for all of us.. That includes you n the elf.. Just, go back will you? I dont have much to offer as a bribe.. or any proof that I'm not a bad guy, all I have to go off is my word. My name is Natsuki Subaru, I'm just trying to help."

He placed his hands on the ground with a sigh, he pushed himself back up to his feet as he stared at the maid. He couldn't tell her expression, a true poker face. But she nodded, and without a word left. He was surprised, he didn't know why the maid would trust him. He just sighed into his hands, again, he was saved by someone else. Hopefully this time he won't be as hopeless, maybe he could actually help others. He walked through the alleyway to the other side.

'Its no different... again im just useless, I've forced more people to help me and possibly risk their own safety.. But.. I can still change."

Subaru spent his time walking around, with no where to go and no one else to burden, Subaru made it back to the slums. He was standing at a small wooden bridge, his hands on the railing as he looked down at the water. He could make out a couple of small fish in the water, swimming together in a small group. A single bigger fish came along, making the group of smaller fish scatter about. He sighed as he closed his eyes, putting most of his weight on the railing.

"A quiet day, isn't it?"

Subaru heard someone walk over to him, on the bridge. They were standing next to him, he didn't open his eyes.

"You could call it that."

He answered them, a bit of company isnt the worst. Subaru opened his eyes, though he didn't look at who it was next to him. He just looked down at the water, seconds turned to minutes as the two strangers stayed on the bridge, Subaru decided he'd break the silence.

"How's your day been?.."

"Ah, well, there hasn't been much to do. I do not live here, I am simply here because of my contractor.. I leave by tomorrow night. And you?"

"Well, I'm certainly not from here. But I don't really have a way to leave.. I'm completely broke, so I don't really even have a place to stay.. Say, what's your name?"

"My name? I am Elsa Granhiert, might I inquire of yours?"

"My name is Natsuki Subaru," Subaru turned to her. "Its nice to meet y-"He was cut off by her appearance. It was her, the murderer. The lady who cut open his stomach and killed his friend. The one person who had to make this all so much harder than it had to be. Subaru stared her in the eyes, he was filled with fear as he instinctly held a hand over his stomach and gripped the railing of the bridge, he was terrified and angry as he looked at her. Her slightly surprised but neutral expression turned into a delighted one, she smiled as she looked at him.

"Ah, so you aren't clueless Subaru. There's no need to be afraid, however."

She said as her smile widened, she walked directly up to Subaru, gently grabbing his hand and placing it onto his stomach as she stared directly in his eyes, theough him and seemingly at his very being. It was terrifying... Also attractive. To be fair to Subaru its not his fault the murderer was given the body of a model. He felt her gently place something in his hand before she let go of his hand as she took a step back. She held her hand to her lips as she stared back at Subaru.

"Stay safe, Natsuki Subaru~"

She said with a small laugh as she turned around and continued walking wherever she was going to. Subaru was breathing rather heavily as he watched her dissapear into the slums. He looked at whatever the hell it was she gave him, a single golden coin in his hand. Most likely enough for a stay at an inn. Subaru wondered why Elsa had given this to him, why would she even care? She killed him in his last life didn't she?

"That will be 10 silver coins sir."

"Here."

Subaru handed her the golden coin, she nodded and gave him a bag of 90 silver coins. Subaru also grabbed the key she handed him, yknow for the room. He went upstairs and walked to the very end of the inn, the floorboards creeking and bending as he stepped on them. He put the key into the lock and turned it, unlocking the door and walking inside. He locked the door once on the otherside before he fell face first onto the bed. Even if it was some shitty inn at the slums this bed was hundreds times better than the chair in old man Roms house. Subaru pulled the blanket over himself as he looked up at the ceiling. He closed his eyes, but he couldnt quite sleep yet. Else's actions were still engraved in his mind as he thought about her, because of her he could sleep in this bed but at the same time because of her the people he cares about are in major danger.

'What an odd character..'

Subaru stared at the window to outside, he couldn't see much as well, it was night and completely dark outside but he could still make out some things due to the moon being out. The building infront of him, a few people in the far far distance. Subaru began slowly drifting off to sleep as he stared at the window and right when he was about to fall asleep. A figure was staring right back at him through the window. Unfortunately, before Subaru could do anything his body shut down and he fell asleep.

Dawn of the Second day

Subaru woke up in the bed, he had gotten a nice amount of sleep since yesterday. He brought his hands up to his face and rubbed his eyes with a yawn as he looked up at the ceiling. He knew that he should've stood up and go do something but he would rather just lay in the bed and do nothing. About 20 minutes later he finally managed to pull himself out of the bed, he looked at the window again. Remembering the figure from last night he felt a shiver go up his spine, he shook his head as he began doing some streches. 3 minutes later he finally made it to the counter, handing the key back to the same lady from last night. She bowed and wished him a nice day, Subaru smiled back and waved goodbye to her.

"This is where it counts.."

He mumbled to himself, he looked around the slums. It had just become morning since he woke up, last time he and Felt went to find the elf girl at around afternoon or so. So he has some free time to locate and follow the girl before Felt finds her. Well, that would be if he's able to find her actually. So, he decided he would get departed now. He began walking towards the capital once more, hopefully this would be the last time he'd have to relive this day.. whether he dies or wins, he just wants to forget this damned day.

Subaru found himself once more within the capital, same scenery, same things. His wonder had almost completey faded since his last venture into this place, he knew to avoid alleyways though. He didnt want to deal with more stupid people like last time again. It gets tiring yknow? He searched through the capital, and this time he actually had some money. He might go buy an appa from the salesman from yesterday since he wated his time. And speak of the devil, there he is. This must mean he's close to where he found her yesterday in her wagon right? Though she may not be in the wagon right now either. Best to just search, but first.

"It's you again. If you don't have money you can p-"

"Right here old man, keep the change."

He flipped a silver coin over to him from his bag of silver coins.

"An appas two silver coins ya meat head!"

"s-sorry sorry!-"

He handed him the other coin with an apologetic expression on his face ss he grabbed an appa.

"Thank you sir, have a nice day.. Oh! And, have you seen a long silver haired elf around? I'm looking for her?"

"You bein' serious kid?"

"Uh, yeah, don't know why I wouldn't be.."

The man sighed "Right, I saw someone with long silver hair pass by a few minutes ago. They went that way."

"Oh, thank you!"

He said with a smile and a nod, the fruit salesman laughed and waved goodbye to Subaru, Subaru waving back to him as he walked in the direction he pointed to. A few minutes later a man with a purse ran past him, slamming into Subaru's side as they ran past him. Subaru rubbed his shoulder, seems like Felt isn't the only thief in Lugnica. He looked over in the direction he was going, and then he saw the elf there! She was by herself, and also panicking.. Wait.. Subaru put two and two together as he turned around and bolted. If he could get her purse back there's no doubt in the world she would trust him!

'Thank you God for this oppertunity'

He said as he ran towards the thief, he was actually gaining on them too. Stupid Felt, calling him slow when she can run at Mach 5 speed. Subaru watched him go into an alleyway, he followed him in there. Once there, he saw the thief rummaging through the purse, he walked up to him.

"Huh? Hell are ya doing?"

Subaru then immediatly punted him in the face, he then quickly grabbed the purse from his hands and ran for it.

'Haha! I feel like one punch man!'

He thought with a proud smile as he ran back, he would look back but no, the thief decided that he wouldn't fight an unwinnable battle with Subaru the terminator!.. Trust me I was forced to call him that. Eventaully he made it back to where the elf was, she had walked a hundred or so meters further away so Subaru walked over to her.

'Come on Subaru, gotta put your charm on like a bard in a game of dungeons and dragons'

He took a deep breath in ad he tapped the elf on the shoulder.

"Hm?"

"Excuse me miss, but is this purse perhaps yours?"

"O-oh! Yes, it is.. Uhm.. Thank you very much!"

She said with a smile as she grabbed the purse out of Subarus hand while moving a bit of hair away from her face. Subaru hadn't noticed before since she wasn't the main focus but, this elf certainly does look his type.. Eh! Subaru you're meant to woo her not the other way around! Stop blushing you idiot!

"O-oh it's no problem! I saw the guy who stole your purse so I ran after him and got it back."

"Thank you.. How could I repay you back?"

"Meh! No need, I'm aiming for a good deed a day, so this does it for me."

"Oh, are you sure? If you need anything do tell!"

"No no, I'm well off for another week. Also, wheres the maid? I remember you from yesterday, you were at the post office with a pink haired maid weren't you?"

"O-oh, I'm surprised you could even remember something like that.. or well.. was it my ea-"

"How could I forget a lovely lady? You're quite..." Subaru remembered seeing her dead corpse on the floor "..unforgettable."

His expression changed to that of a rather empty one, but that was quickly stopped by Subaru seeing her reaction to what he said, she was blushing, a bit more than him even.

"I-is that so? Well t-thank you-"

'Oh my god I'm gonna die- I'm melting away I swear-'

"Ahem, uh, anyways. Where is that maid?"

"Right! Well, I had gone outside of the inn we were staying in and, well, the thief asked for help and when I followed him he took my purse and ran.."

"I see, well, I suppose that'd mean you're lost now?"

"Yes, that is true.. unfortunately.."

"Well, I'm practically as lost in this place as you are, but you wouldn't mind if I helped you find that maid would you?"

"N-no no! You dont need to! You've already reached your limit of one good deed, I've already used enough of your time as is."

"Peh! It was a requirement not a limit! one good deed a day means at least one good deed! The more good deeds I do the better. So anyways, we should start looking yeah?"

"..Thank you"

She said as she looked at the ground

"Oh, but first, we should know eachothers names. Makes it easier, I'm Natsuki Subaru, it's nice to meet you! Whats your name?"

He did another pose, I really dont need to be narrating this huh? Subaru looked at the elf, it'll be nice finally being able to call her by her name. Though, she did seem hesitant.

"My name.. is Satella."

"Satella huh? Great to meet you! I hope I can get you home safe too"

Suddenly her crystal necklace glew amd boom a cat holding a purse popped out of it. It then floated over to Satellas head and laid ontop of it. Satella looked surprised too, a bit shocked.

"You have bad taste. Im Puck by the way."

"Nice too meet you too, floaty cat thing."

"Im a spirit!"

"Oh, sorry then. I had no idea actually. Wait right getting you home, Satella we gotta go. your maid's probably worried about you so lets go!"

He said as he began walking, he needed to get into a crowded area, a place where Felt would try to get the insignia out from Emelia's pocket. The two of them made it to a rather heavily crowded area, Subaru was deep in thought, he was looking upwards at the roofs of buildings. And then suddenly he saw her, Felt was in a dark area between a roof and a chimney.

'So that's where she's hiding'

"Subaru? Are you listening?"

"Oh, sorry! I was spacing out, you were saying?"

"Well, I thought I saw her over there but.. It wasn't her actually. They just look like her from the back.."

"I see, well, it's no problem. Im sure we will find her one way or another. Come on, chin up."

He said as he patted her back with a smile as he continued walking, she wasn't so down anymore so that's lucky. But now would be the time for Felt to bust into the situation, suddenly Subaru heard some very quick footsteps as a small girl shoved herself between the two of them.

"W-wait!"

Subaru looked over at Satella, she was looking through her pockets before looking to Subaru with a panicked expression.

"She took my insignia! W-we have to go after her quick!"

She grabbed Subaru by the wrist and jolted him along with her as they ran after Felt, she was really fast. Subaru knew that much. He watched as she would shoot icicles at Felt, but even then he knew they wouldn't be catching her any time soon, but this had to be believable. So Subaru followed Satella into, god damn another alleyway?! Jeez okay. Subaru turned the corner just to met with... Nothing, the thugs are still in prison currently. So Subaru continued following Felt, all the while Satella was shooting icicles at Felt. Subaru followed, but in the end Subaru lost stamina and stopped mid walk to catch his breath.

"Subaru? Are you okay?"

"H-hang on inhale I gotta exhale breathe"

Satella stayed by his side, placing a hand on his back as Subaru hunched over hands on his knees as he looked at the ground while breathing sharply.

"I-its okay! We can look for her still! There's a bench over there, come."

Satella grabbed him by his wrist again and walked over to a bench, sitting Subaru down before sitting next to him.

"..Sorry, if it weren't for me, you'd probably have gotten back to the maid and your insignia wouldn't be stolen.."

"It's okay! You don't need to worry, we still have a shot!"

"I know we do, but we could've gotten it back easier if I was just.. better.."

"What do you mean?"

"Well I-"

"You are good, Subaru! Y-you got my purse back, and you said you didn't want a reward and then you still stuck by to help me get back. You're g-good enough!"

"..I, I really needed that actually.. Thank you Satella. "

Satella seemed to recoile a little when he called her by her name, he wondered why.

"Is, is everything okay Satella?"

"Oh.. Subaru, I'm sorry but, Satella isn't my name.. Y-you see you probably didn't know but im a half elf- and, I understand if you want to leave.. I just didn't want to burden you with being near me so I wanted to scare you away w-with the name.. I'm sorry."

"Oh, I know. Well, I thought you were a full elf, but close enough. Why would I not want to be around you though?"

Subaru said cluelessly as he looked at.. apparently not Satella hide her face in her hands as she looked away from Subaru, her face seemingly red. suddenly he felt something soft bump into his head and then land on his legs.

"Oh you Subaru! How could you?"

"Huh- what'd I do wrong Puck?"

"Nothing, nothing.. I'm quite satisfied actually, keep making my daughter happy will you?"

"Sure thing..?"

Subaru grabbed Puck and held him in his hands as he placed him back on not Satellas shoulder. Puck is surprisingly soft, softer than that of an actual cat actually.

"Well then, not Satella, what do I call you?"

She quickly stood back up straight while putting her hands away from her face, she turned to Subaru.

"Emilia! My real name is Emilia, just Emilia. It's nice to meet you, Subaru."

"It's nice to finally meet you, Just Emilia."

"N-no! Not Just Emilia you dunderhead!"

"Dunderhead? Are you sure you're not just being a dunderhead and making up words?"

"Subaru!"

Subaru giggled and stood up from the bench, pulling Emilia up to her feet with him as he smiled happily.

"Well then, that insignia of yours won't just float back into your hands Emilia, we have to get it back by hand."

"Y-yes! Where do you think we should search?"

"Well, she was wearing torn clothes and she steals so, why don't we check the slums?"

"That's a great idea, do you know the way?"

".. kind of? I know how to get to the slums but I have no idea where to search."

"Well we should at the very least start our search there!"

"Then we should be off, just follow me and we should be there in no time. And hopefully with your insignia too!"

'I'm surprised Puck hasn't said anything yet. Like how I'm giving bad vibes or something. I'm lying aren't I?'

Subaru was a bit perplexed at the situation, he would give Puck a couple glances but luckily they wouldn't notice. Subaru came across the edge of the capital, a small rock bridge leading over a river and then into the slums. He turned to Emilia.

"This is it, over this bridge are the slums. Mind me asking you something?"

"Not at all!"

"What's the insignia for anyway?"

"Oh well, I don't really think I can tell you about thst. But it is very important! And if I lose it I will lose something very important!"

"I see, well, it's only normal for people to have their secrets. I have my own aswell. On a different note, we should really get going. Soon enough it'll be evening and we probably won't have much time before the insignia's stolen"

"Right! Right! Lets get going then!"

The two of them crossed the bridge again, Subaru was rather worried. Maybe not even Julius could defeat Elsa.. and then he'd die, again.. Subaru shook his head, he had to dismiss the thought. He continued walking before noticing a hinched over man by a house.

"Hey Emilia, I'll go ask that guy if he's seen the thief alright? You stay here."

She nodded, and with that Subaru walked over to the man.

"Hey there, excuse me but could you answer some questions for me. A little blonde kid stole my friend's" He pointed to Emelia who was a few meters back. "insignia, we're looking to get it back. Think you could help us?"

"It's no problem bro, sounds like Felt got to your goods haha! You could try negotiating it back but I don't think much is gonna work. She's probably probably old man Roms shop by now, it's a couple hundred meters that way. Live strong"

"Thank you bro! Live strong!"

Subaru smiled and waved to the man, he was just told of things he already knew. But this way his story would be believable, and he wouldnt be seen as suspicious, not like last time with Felt. That wont happen again.

"Alright so the thiefs name is Felt, and they're in a shop thats a couple hundred meters ahead. We should be there in no time so we should get going! No time to spare!"

Subaru was getting nervous, it was almost time for Elsa to show up at the shop. If he didnt make it in time, things wont work out. Without letting Emilia react he grabbed her by the wrist and began running to the shop. Emilia, flustered followed while stumbling a bit.

"Subaru! W-why are you in such a hurry!"

"I have a bad feeling about this Emilia.. We gotta be quick!"

Eventaully after a few minutes they arrived at the shop, Subaru let go of her wrist and walked up to the window. He could see them at the table and he could hear them too. His heart beat began rising as he was slightly hyperventilating.

'Wheres Julius?!?!'

He looked around, Julius was still no where in sight and Elsa was in the shop.

"Subaru, are you alright?"

"S-sorry- I'm a bit nervous.. We should, we should go inside now.."

Subaru walked over to the door snd knocked on it. After a few seconds, a voice was heard.

"Who's there?"

"Open the door Rom! Right now! It's super important!"

Subaru called Rom by his name, hopefully that would get him to open the door. And luckily enough, it was just enough for Rom to open the door. Subaru burst in through the door and looked torwards the table, pointing at Elsa.

"Sorry to interrupt! But I need you two to hand over that Insignia peacefully!"

Emilia walked inside too, standing by Subaru's side. Nodding in confirmation.

"Y-you again?! Seriously?! Didn't I tell to piss off the first time?!"

"oh? Isn't this a mighty surprise.. I'm nothing but delighted to see you here Subaru~"

Elsa smiled, Subaru felt a chill go up his spine as he took a step back. He looked over at Rom, who shrugged and walked iver to his bar counter.

"I dont have anything to do with this."

Altough, he was reaching down. Where he got the club from yesterday.

"..Unfortunatly, this meeting has gone horribly. How am I to work with a woman who cant uphold the status quo? Unfortunatly for you Subaru you had to wrangle yourself up in this matter. I can't wait to see what type of man you are on the inside Subaru!~"

Altough he knew what she actually meant, Subaru was still disgusted at the horrible wording. However what disgusted emotion he had was quickly overflooded by fear as she took out two of her very sharp swords, pulling one up to her lips and licking the edge of it, before dashing at Felt who was behind her.

"Watch out! She goes for the stomach!"

Felt ducked out of the way, before jumping away from her. Old man Rom jumped over the counter like last time, taking the giant bat with him. This is where it got bad last time, he can't let that happen again.

"Emilia, cover him or else he's dead!"

"Y-yes!"

Emilia began shooting icicles at Elsa, but of course, none of them would hit. Old man Rom was slow but he could pack a punch. Unfortunatly, his slothfulness would be his down bringing. But Subaru couldn't let that happen, he grabbed a chair as he ran towards Elsa, old man Rom did the same attack as before, and when Elsa climbed ontop of his club, right before she could stab Old man Rom through the head Subaru jumped into the air and slammed the chair into her stomach, breaking the chair while sending Elsa off and onto the ground. Subaru turned to Elsa and pointed to her with an angry expression.

"How does it feel being hit in the stomach?! Not too great is it huh??!?!?!"

He said annoyed, finally being able to hit her back and show her some of her own medicine for once. But because of this he left himself vulnerable, and with a laugh Elsa would take full advantage of this. She jumped up from the ground. dashing at Subaru and then kicking him right in the stomach, sending him into old man Rom and then into the wall behind them, which was the bar counter. The kick had so much force that there was a divot in the bar counter, dust and random wooden shrapnel was sent everywhere. Old man Rom was knocked out and Subaru couldn't stand due to the whiplash of the hit.

"Rom!"

Subaru heard Felt scream as he could shakenly see her on her knees looking at him and Rom. He could make out Elsa standing in front of him, pointing her sword at him before a barriage of icicles came in from the ceiling.

"Puck to the rescue!"

Shouted assumedly Puck, seems like he can do magic just as well as Emilia could do magic. Subaru finally managed to recover himself, he rubbed his eyes and got up from the ground, he picked up the huge club and looked over.

"You fight well for a girl."

"Girl? I haven't been referred to such in a long time."

"Meh, everyone's practically at a babies level when it comes to fights with me. Still, you're uncomfortably strong."

"To be complimented by a spirit, how fortunate I a-"

"Alright alright, enough talking. You didn't think I was just aimlessly shooting at you did you?"

Subaru watched as her leg was encased in ice, she was trapped and left open for an attack! Just the opening he needed! He ran in to get the hit in on her. But then suddenly, right before he got to her.

"Cya!"

And in a large burst of light a massive shot of ice was shot at her, Subaru went "AHH" and fell backwards on the ground, dropping old man Roms giant club.

'She has to be dead! There's no way she survived tha-'

"That was close!~ How impressive! That really could've done a number to me~"

Subaru had to get back up, she would definetly be going for him next. He got up from the ground and picked up old man Roms club, turning around, it seems he was wrong. She wasn't going for him, she was going for Felt, she was still saving Subaru for last. He ran over, all the whole Emelia was covering him, Puck had disappeared.

"Felt! I want you to run when I attack her! Run and find a purple haired guard okay?!"

He screamed as he swung his bat at her, Elsa moving out of the way easily as he hit a wall. Elsa landed a few meters behind Subaru.

"My my Subaru, you're quite strong for your looks~"

"Save it for when I win!"

He said as he lifted the bat up and swung it at her again, Elsa being as strong as she is sliced the fucking bat in half. Subaru felt a deep chill go down his spine as he took a step back, he could see Felt escaping from a window in the corner of his eyes. He felt slightly relived, because even if he died in this universe at least his friend would still be alive. He quickly picked up a table from his side and ran at Elsa. Elsa went to do the same move as before but even with the table sliced clean in half he rammed into her... sorry for the bad wording. He knocked her over on the ground and Emelia would shoot several icicles at Elsa. Elsa kicked Subaru off herself before rolling to the side and standing up to her feet. Her right hand was completely encased in ice, she looked at Subaru.

"You really are quite strong aren't you Subaru?~ Oh, truly you are loved by th-"

"I will put an end to this. Subaru, lady Emilia, you can safely leave now. The situation is handled."

Subaru, with a wide smile looked over at the door, just to see Julius at the door. Oh thank God, where was he?! Whatever! Doesn't matter right now just get the hell out of here!

"You heard him Emilia! Lets leave!"

He went to leave, just to remember old man Rom. He knight get hurt in this fight. But there's no way he could carry him out!

"Julius! Don't let her get to old man Rom!"

He said this while running, taking a glimpse at Elsa, who looked rather disappointed as Subaru left the building with Emilia. Subaru ran, and he didn't stop running until he was a safe distance away. He fell to his knees as he exhaled.

"..Finally.. finally, I was so worried"

He said in a broken voice as he held his face while looking at the ground, he heard a few fast paced foot steps walk up to him.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry I should of believed you!"

'..Felt?'

Subaru looked up, just to see Felt, who was in tears. She was trying to wipe her tears away but she couldn't hold it in and more and more would come out just as fast as she wiped them away.

"I s-shouldve believed you! B-but now I got us all in danger a-and old man Rom might die because I was too untrusting! I-im so sorry.. I made this happen.."

Subaru looked at her with a small frown as he hugged her, he had to comfort his friends after all. Even if he wasn't a friend with her just yet, he still had to help her. Subaru let the girl sob her woes into his shoulder before she calmed down.

"S-subaru! The shop!"

Emilia said in a worried tone as she pointed to the shop with a concerned look. Subwru looked over, just to see it full of light, the entire building was shaking, and soon enough it collapsed. Subaru was filled with dread, he was assuming the worst. He didn't want Felt to see. But then suddenly, the rubble moved and Julius pulled himself out of the rubble, along with old man Rom. He dragged his unconscious body over to the gang.

"Sorry about that, I was distracted on the way. A couple of degenerates committing horrible sins were on my way here. Luckily, the bowel huntress has been dealt with. Is everyone alright Subaru?"

Subaru checked himself all over, he also looked at Emilia and Felt. He assumed Ron was fine since Julius had him in his grasp.

"We're all.. safe.. we're actually safe, and alive."

Suddenly, the victorious moment was interrupted by the rubble moving again, it was Elsa. She jumped our of the rubble, her clothes were torn and she was covered in bruises. She pointed her sword at Subaru.

"Natsuki Subaru. Whether it take years, we will meet again."

She said with a rather creepy laugh as she jumped away, disappearing. Subaru looked to Julius, who had a look of total shock and self doubt as he looked at the rubble of the shop.

"It's fine Julius, you still saved our lives. That's all that should matter for now."

"Hm, yes, it appears you are right Subaru. Lady Emilia, was your insignia returned?"

"Oh! I'm so sorry, here you g-"

"Wait, that cannot possibly be.. I apologize, but I must cut this interaction short. Felt, you must follow me by the laws of this kingdom. Do not worry, I will take Rom with me aswell."

Felt looked worried, and hesutant. But especially she felt untrusting of Julius.

Subaru nudged Felt with a reassuring smile.

"Come on, be a good girl and go with him. You're still a kid, the worst they'll do to ya will be a slap on the wrist and a warning."

"Im 15!.. But alright, you better heal old man Rom though!"

"I will, will."

Felt stood up and left with Julius and old man Rom, waving goodbye to Subaru as she did. Subaru looked over to Emilia. She was looking at him with a happy smile. Subaru turned a bit red.

"I need to thank you Subaru, really. I dont know how tooday would've ended up if you didn't save me. How can I repay you?"

"You don't have to- Wait, actually, you live in a mansion right?"

"Mhm."

"Could I.. stay at that mansion? I don't have anywhere to go and no one will hire me.. wait! How about I work for you as a butler in the mansion? I'm sure the owner would be fine with it that way."

"Of course! I couldn't possibly let my s-savior sleep on the streets!"

"Thank you, thats relieving.. Where is your maid though?"

"We never did find her.."

Suddenly, the sounds of lsrge animal footsteps were heard as a eagon drive over. Out from the wagon came the pink haired maid. She looked at Subaru, then at Emelia.

"Lady Emelia, where have you been?"

"I was lost, but Subaru here saved me when I was! But my insignia was stolen, and Subaru still.. h-helped."

She looked away, her face went a bit red like Subaru's. She also moved a bit of stray hair away from her face.

"I see. Well, thank you sir Subaru, but we must be on our way."

"Well a-actually, Subaru will be coming with us.. as a reward for him helping me, he said he would work for us at the mansion as long as he gets to stay."

"... I see. Then we will be off, get inside."

Subaru smiled and walked inside the wagon with Emilia, sitting next to her. The drive to the mansion was quiet and long. But it was still pleasant. Subaru looked outside the window, before alowly drifting off to sleep.

Subaru was gently nudged awake by Emilia.

"Subaru, were here!"

"Huh?.. Oh- alright."

Subaru got out of the wagon with Emelia. He looked at the mansion, it was giant and grand. By the bottom of the stairs stood two twin maids. One with blue hair, the other being the pink haired maid.

'Finally, something good..'

And thats the end! Finally we're done with the capital. I hope you enjoyed todays chapter. Sorry for Puck being non existent lmao. He's my least favorite character and I can't really write much for him. Other than that, until next time!
