The next morning Emery woke and instantly smiled. Cody and Erialynn were all snuggled up next to her. She finally had her family back and no one could take it from her. A few months ago The judge told Emery the papers Tessa signed that day in the hospital were legally binding and the fact that she didn't show up to any of the court dates helped sway the decision in Emery's favor. Now here they were with their daughter and they were home. Emery went downstairs to find her mom in the kitchen drinking coffee.

"Where's dad?" Emery asked.

"He must have left already. Do you want some breakfast?" Erin asked quickly changing the subject.

"Mom you need to talk to him."

"There isn't anything to talk about Emery, he's moved on."

Emery rolled her eyes as she grabbed a box of cereal out of the cabinet. As she went to grab the milk she heard the tiny pitter patter of little feet coming towards her.

"Good morning baby girl." Emery says lifting her daughter and kissing her forehead.

"I woke up to her trying to put her pacifier in my mouth." Cody says with a giggle then walks over to kiss Emery.

"There's my sweet baby." Erin says scooping her up and carrying her to the living room.

"I haven't slept that good in a long time." Cody says wrapping his hands around her waist.

"Me either. Hopefully soon we can have some alone time." Emery says kissing him.

"I'm so glad you guys are home. I missed getting to see you guys everyday."

"I know. I'm so sorry. I had to keep her safe though. I didn't know what else to do." Emery says sincerely.

"I don't blame you for leaving. I'm just glad you're back and we can move on." Cody says.

They stand there and just hold one another for awhile. Emery was so grateful for the man she chose to do life with.

"Em we got to get going." Erin yells while dressing the baby.

Cody heads upstairs to throw on his uniform before heading out the door.

"Be safe." Cody says.

"We will. I love you" Emery says kissing him.

"Love you too. Bye princess daddy will see you tonight." He says rubbing her head.

Erin watched in amazement at the little family her daughter had created. Although not conventional in anyway their family just worked. Cody was a great guy and Erin was so happy he chose to stay with Emery through it all. The young couple had been through so much and they just kept pushing through it.

Erin, Emery, and the baby all got ready to head out for the day. When they arrived at the precinct Emery said hello to her dad while her mother tried to completely avoid him. There were rumors he was seeing the new female detective in the unit but no one knew for sure. Erin knew sooner or later they would have to discuss how she left without explanation.

"You ready kiddo?" Hank asked his granddaughter.

"As I'll ever be." She says.

"We are going to send you in at the entrance by the carousel. There will be cameras on Erialynn's stroller, they are tiny and can't be detected. One on every angle." Hank says.

"What devices are we putting on her?" Erin asks.

"She will be wearing an ear piece and a necklace. She will be able to speak to us and vice versa." Burgess says handing her the tech.

"The first few days is just going to be to establish a pattern in which he can follow. It's about your routine not his." Jay says to his daughter.

Emery starts having flashbacks to the first time she went undercover but this time her daughter was with her so it was even more terrifying. She was staring off into space when Jay looked over at her.

"Hey, I got you. Your mother and I will not let anything happen to you. Someone will be with in running distance of you and the baby at all times." Jay says grabbing her shoulder to reassure her.

Emery shakes her head and then focuses on the board. They finish briefing her just as Platt comes up the stairs with the baby.

"There's my girl." Jay says scooping her up.

Emery caught one of the newer team members, Hailey Upton giving her father a sorrowful look as he was playing with the baby. Upton was the woman that her father had started a relationship with while they were gone. Emery knew that her father would never love anyone like he loved her mother. Her mother hadn't dated anyone while they were in New york. It broke her heart watching two people who love each other hate each other at the same time. Emery had kept a secret for her mom and she felt it was time her dad knew but she also knew it wasn't her place to tell it. Emery was angry with her mother for leaving her dad, and as much as she wanted them back together she felt bad for Upton.

"Let's roll out." Hank says as everyone follows.

They get to Lincoln Park, which was actually a zoo but it's features were something the perp really liked when choosing his women. Emery walked around looking at all the animals with Erialynn just like her mother did with her. It was fall so the baby was bundled and cozy in her stroller. They walked around for about an hour and half, but nothing too suspicious popped out to the team or to Emery. Emery constantly had her mom and dad asking her questions in her ear and everytime she went to reply she'd lean down like she was talking to the baby. Everywhere she went she saw either her mom or dad not far from her. She knew she was safe but the real question was would he even choose her to attack next. They wrapped up at the zoo and met back at the precinct to discuss but nothing was off to anyone. Everyone was beginning to worry that he'd already had a new victim in his sights.
