Entering the apartment, she got one hell of a surprise to find it occupied by somebody she had not thought about in years. Fighting her so called sister was intense, they broke several things in the apartment trying to get the advantage over the other only for them both to be on the ground in a choke hold.
"Truce?" Natasha asked looking at Yelena who nodded in agreement.
"What are you doing here?" Yelena asked getting to her feet.
"I could ask you the same thing." Natasha retorted
"I needed a safe house; this house was the closes one for now." Yelena shrugged moving to the fridge to get a beer.
"That's it?" Natasha asked
"I don't owe you anything." Yelena replied but ended up looking at her. "You left me." She stated pulling something else out of the fridge other than beer.
"What is that?"
"Actually, you being here is good, saves me from mailing this to you." She stated handing her several vials.
"What is that?" Natasha repeated and that is how Yelena told her all about the red room, how it was still active, and how the Widows were under Drakov's control. How he had managed to chemically induce a formula to brainwash them. How a former Widow had created an antidote for it and how she ended up killing her as she freed her. The door opened and Alex came in Yelena was tense and went to grab her gun, but Natasha stopped her.
"Who are you?" Yelena asked
"What are you doing here? I told you to wait outside." Natasha stated looking at Alex as she assessed the room.
"We have company. The place is surrounded." Alex told her ignoring the looks from both assassins.
"Who is she?" Yelena asked
"Yelena this is Alex, Alex this is Yelena…" Natasha introduced "What do you mean surrounded?" Natasha asked just as bullets lit up the room, Alex pulled Natasha to the wall.
"They found me." Yelena shouted
"We need an exit." Natasha shouted back
"Motorbike east side." Yelena stated leading the way
"Clear a path, meet you on the street." Natasha told Alex before following after Yelena Alex went her own way. Natasha and Yelena found most of the exits covered and a sniper kept shooting at them as they ran for the roof. They made it outside and jumped…Natasha tried to save a widow who had caught up to them only for her to end up falling. She growled to herself as she landed before moving over to the fallen widow who was still alive. Only for her to end up killing herself.
'What the hell is going on?' Natasha thought in anger and disbelief.
'Do you need back up?' Maria asked only for Natasha to look at Yelena
"Like I told you this shit is real." Yelena stated as she looked down at the widow on the ground. "We need to keep moving." She stated only for Natasha to take the antidote off her.
"This is what they are after?" Natasha asked
"Yes, I am not giving…"
"You wanted me to take this to Stark…to make more?" Natasha asked interrupting her
"Well yeah but…" Yelena kept them moving towards the motorbike.
"Alex." Natasha called and suppressed a jump when Alex simply appeared beside "dammit don't do that." Natasha remarked
"We need to move, they are coming."
"The three of us can't fit on that." Natasha stated
"You do not need to come." Yelena pointed out.
"Take this back to Ria, she will know what to do with it. I will be fine." Natasha told Alex handing Alex the vials before pulling out the motorbike key she had taken from Yelena. Ignoring Yelena's comment
"I will meet up later." Alex nodded before running off
"Hey! Who?" Yelena went to ask more questions but considering there was an armored car crashing its way towards them they did not get the chance to talk, Natasha took the lead this time driving away on the bike. They lost the bike, only to end up stealing a car but they were still being chased and shot at.
"Seriously who is this person?" Natasha asked
"The taskmaster…do you have a plan here or are they going to shoot us?" Yelena asked
"This is my plan, drive away."
"Stupid plan." Yelena stated before opening her door sending it back knocking out the motorbike that was chasing them. "You're welcome." She added "So you going to tell me who this Alex person is and why I should trust her with the formula."
"She will get it somewhere safe." Natasha replied
"Who is she?"
"She's Alex."
"No, I mean who is she to you?" Yelena asked but before she got the chance to answer they crashed. Natasha managed to grab Yelena out of the car and to the vents to hide. This is where she had hidden with Clint the last time they were here.
"You replaced me." Yelena stated after Natasha patched up her wound, they had left Budapest and were outside of a town in the middle of nowhere having a drink as they decided on a plan. Natasha was going to take down the red room, for real this time.
"I…"
"What did you think happened to me?" she asked not giving Natasha the time to answer.
"I thought you got out, that you were living a nice quiet life somewhere." Natasha replied
"Did you even try looking for me?" Yelena asked, not believing it one bit, "you know I made up my backstory, yeah we grew up in Ohio, my older sister moved out west, you're a teacher thinking about moving but you're going to wait for the interest rates to go down."
"That's not my story." Natasha replied not helping but smile she even forgave her for the whole posing comment back in the store.
"Are you going to tell me it?" Yelena asked just as a car pulled up in front of the small bar, they were outside of. Yelena reached for her gun, but Natasha knew who it was so didn't bother reacting instead she took another sip of her beer.
"Out of all the ragtag places you could choose you pick this place?" Alex asked climbing out of the car, Yelena frowned at her arrival.
"How did you find us?" she asked
"I am good at my job." Alex retorted chucking a bag to Natasha who caught it with ease.
"Exactly what is your job?" Yelena asked
"Right now? Helping you."
"She sent you back?" Natasha stated
"You are wanting to take on an international assassin organization, this one will be easier to track down then mine." Alex stated
"Hold up! What does she mean by that?" Yelena asked looking from Natasha to Alex the look she was receiving from Alex had her hand moving towards her weapon once again.
"Do you plan on hurting Natasha?" Alex asked Yelena seeing this action.
"What? No."
"Then we won't have a problem." Alex replied
"You really did replace me." Yelena stated
"I am not Natasha's sister; I owe her is all." Alex stated
"Sister?" Yelena asked at this Natasha did not say anything, she had told Alex to say that right now she needed Yelena and if she was being honest with herself Yelena was her younger sister.
"So, who trained you?" Yelena asked
"A man named Marcel, have you heard of him?"
"Can't say I have." Yelena replied she saw the slight disappointment in her eyes before they once again hardened. "So, what, are you starting a club for forced assassins now?" she asked Natasha.
"Alex, did you find out where it is?" Natasha asked choosing to ignore Yelena's last remark.
"No, my sources have no idea. It's been off everyone's radar since it's supposed fall. It won't be easy to find." Alex stated
"Then we will just have to ask somebody in the know." Natasha stated
"I take it you have a plan?" Yelena asked
"Yeah, it's time for a family reunion." Natasha stated taking the keys from Alex the three of them got in the car. First things first they needed transport.
"A helicopter? It looks like it has seen better days." Yelena remarked as they looked over the vehicle that Natasha's contact had required for them.
"Are you sure on this?" Alex asked she knew that Stark even Maria could get them better transport than this.
"Yes, this way it won't trace back to them." Natasha replied
"They would help out in a heartbeat if you asked." Alex pointed out
"Said the person on the solo vendetta to take Marcel down."
"Yeah, well you proved me wrong there." Alex retorted
"No, I don't want to drag them into this. We are breaking someone out of prison here." Natasha stated
"That's nothing compared to what we have done." Alex stated
"If I had it my way you wouldn't be part of this either."
"Good thing that is not up to you then." Alex retorted
"Are you two done? Because if we are doing this then shouldn't we…hey I thought you gave that to Stark already." Yelena stated noting that she had the vials in the bag.
"I gave him a vial; you are going up against Widows did you not think it would be wise to have something that could stop them?" Alex asked back as they climbed into the helicopter.
