Ginny sat in the hospital wing still trembling as Goyle really had scared her. Poppy looked at her and Harry together and smiled. "Miss Prewett I know of your situation because I am in that same situation with someone working here but not many people know about it as we don't want them to. Soul bonds are rare indeed and when they happen to you like it did to me it is a beautiful blessing by magic itself. Mr Goyle will be suffering for not paying attention in his lessons. You are perfectly safe here my dear so dry your eyes and have a calming draft!" she said handing Ginny a tissue and a calming draft. Ginny wiped her eyes with the tissue and drank the calming draft slowly but surely until it was all gone. She felt her heart rate returning to normal and was very much off edge now. They were both given permission to have classes off for the rest of the day and would resume them as normal tomorrow.
They returned to their rooms and Harry got Ginny to sit on the couch as Holly brought her a hot chocolate. He came back a moment later with that new book on bonds he'd bought and began to read it to Ginny who cuddled on his lap and enjoyed listening to him read it to her.
There are bonds of all types in our world and all are magical. As I am in a soul bond myself I will write of the history of them and shall tell you what happens in my bond. I intend this book to teach more about bonds in general so newly bound people can know how to proceed fully. We are going to set all embarrassment aside and have a frank discussion about it. Consider me a counsellor you can ask or refer any questions to and you shall find the answers you seek within this book. Twin bonds, Sexual bonds and Soul bonds being just a few examples of the different bonds there are in our world. Each bond is different in how it behaves and some bonds such as twin bonds are formed immediately upon birth. Sexual bonds are formed when the two parties involved agree to them and perform a sexual bonding ritual which henceforth creates said bond. This bond is not a naturally occurring bond and is one of the only bonds created by ritualistic magic. To find out more on how to create such a bond please see page two hundred and fifty. One of our rarest bonds which is naturally occurring is the soul bond and depending on which age it happens it can be different for each couple experiencing it.
The first soul bond was recorded in the year ten eighty six. Depending on the age of the couple which soul bonds different things will happen to them. The first couple which soul bonded were ten and eleven in age respectively with the male being the younger of the two. The male was given the ability at excelling in Alchemy and the female was given the unique ability of soul singing. Since then every soul bound couple has gotten a gift of some sort which only pertains to them. No other soul bound couple will ever have the same skills. As stated earlier depending on the age at which a soul bond occurs things which would normally happen at a much slower pace speed up dramatically such as sexual desires. This is not something to be frowned upon. It is only natural that young people should be curious especially when in a soul bond.
You will find six months to a year after a soul bond has occurred you will both be ready for sexual intercourse and this is not something to be worried about. In my own experience I soul bound with someone when I was eleven and he had just turned twelve. Back in ten eighty six children having children was exceptionally common and normal as life expectancy was a lot lower than it is today. Now in modern Magical Britain circa nineteen eighty nine when this book is being written there are special potions which can be owl ordered and they are called special contraceptives. These potions are exceptionally large and arrive in a two litre capacity. You are expected to drink the potion from whenever you start an hour later otherwise they don't take effect. As an example if you start drinking your potions together at six pm you should both be finished at seven pm! It doesn't matter how fast or slow the potion is consumed so long as it is consumed within the hour. Both parties receive one bottle of two litre potion each and both should consume it at the same time. This potion is special in that it insures you cannot get pregnant for eight years and I found this to be most relaxing for my mind. It is one less thing for me to need to think of should I get swept away in the heat of the moment.
You will find as did I myself that at the very beginning sexual intercourse will be very present on your mind and for about one or two months you will want it regularly and this is something which occurs gradually but when it does please do not be afraid. It is a natural process and after the two or so months are up your bond only technically needs you to be intimate twice a week. For me personally this was not enough but that is just because I assume I am a very sexual being. I have found in my own relationship that I need sexual intercourse when I am not on my cycle four times a week. Speaking of which when on our cycles as girls I have found we feel things much more than we would normally. You may find you cry or get angry for no reason and this is ok. Please learn to accept yourself when you feel like that as I did not always do that and it made things worse for me. Tell your mate that you will ask for his help when you need it and actually follow through with what you say. As I myself was soul bound to my partner in nineteen eighty I know that the special contraceptive was a new thing on the market and those who have bonded before then will not have known about it. It is highly likely that those bound in the fifties or sixties will have exceptionally large families as a result of this.
I personally feel the ministry should give these potions freely to people as it costs twenty galleons for both of them which not everyone will have access to. I feel with the publication of this book more and more people will become aware of the implications of soul bonds. They are rare but in my experience when someone soul bonds usually three other people will experience a bond at the same time and usually there is anywhere from twenty to thirty years in between new bonds forming. It has been said that those random people who are bound by soul magic have been blessed by mother magic herself and that this is why they don't happen to exceptionally often. It is also the reason why we each receive unique gifts. My gift is the ability to grow any type of plant no matter how rare perfectly. I will know instantly how to care for plants of all kinds and that is why I have made it my job to do so as well as writing of my experiences in a soul bond. I feel too many people are too shy to talk about it and this should end now and here with me. Soul bonds also come with various protections I will now go into. Not many people including those who have bonded before nineteen eighty will know of this as it was not made available knowledge until now. We are protected from Legilimency which for those of us not in know is an attack by someone remote or directly in front of us who should wish to read our mind and thoughts. If they should peer into our minds they should see one colour and nothing else. For example everyone who has ever tried to peer into my mind without my permission always sees nothing but red. If I give someone permission to see inside my mind then they can do so but otherwise not. We are also well protected from any potions designed in any way to force us to do or say something would never normally do only. This does mean people may not use our hair in the polyjuice potion as it will be null and void. If someone for example wished to prank us and give us lime green hair they could do so as it is not changing what we do or say. The polyjuice potion for those of us who are not aware is a potion that enables us to turn into someone else once their hair is added in at the end before it is drunk. It is of benefit we cannot be used in this way and it is a benefit many if not all non-soul bound people know about. Many have tried to do this to me and my soul bound friends who changed at the same time as me and we are all relieved it has never been successful. As many of you may wonder using our blood doesn't work either. I say this only as my own friends had been worried about it and we had to learn that this is not a concern we need to have.
As I have twin sisters myself I have heard how different their own bond is to that of mine and my husbands. They share a telekinetic connection meaning they may talk to each other in their heads much like we do but they don't inherit any special powers or abilities as we do whichever you prefer to refer to them as. As a soul bound person you will find that you instinctively get very good at reading people and whether they are genuine or not in terms of whether they are saying something to you because they want something from you or not. A lot of people are not good at hiding that they want something from you. For example in terms of myself Albus Dumbledore has tried four times to give me employment on his staff however I have refused each time because I know he wants something from me he is not going to tell me about unless I agree to work for him which I would not. I realise he thinks he is very clever and well able to hide his true intentions but he only believes this as I have let him believe this. If you should ever meet him please be careful as he may seek to use you in some way to benefit himself if he should ever find out you're soul bound. He may not but one never can be too careful with things like this. He may dress whatever it is up any way he likes but I can guarantee that whatever it is it will not in any way benefit you personally. Do not say I did not warn you and that is all I will say on the matter.
Most people you meet will not care too much about your relationship status but those who show a serious and deep interest in it are to be monitored carefully and I am afraid to say that this does include reporters. You should know that Rita Skeeter of the Daily Profit is an illegal animagus of a water beetle and that an animagus is someone who can transform into an animal and back again at will. You should all note however that no one who is not soul bound will have been able to read that last line as I am protecting myself here. Should anyone who is soul bound wish for blackmailing material then there it is. Use it at your leisure. All I will say is that she is a fool for ever thinking I would not ever find out about her problem bugging me. What an idiot. It is rare indeed that someone of a darker disposition will ever soul bond with someone as legend has it that those who love the dark arts have no room for true magical love in their hearts or souls. I am not sure how true this really is but I have never met someone who is soul bound who was dark.
You will find that you may even know some people who are soul bound who do not expressly advertise that they are soul bound and this is ok. In my own personal opinion if you are young like I was when I first bonded with my love you should be ok to ask someone older who is soul bound about their experience. Anyone who refuses to give you any information is entitled to do so but is also silly in my opinion. There is nothing we can't learn from each other and who knows they may learn something from you. If the person reading this is older please share whatever experiences you've had with younger bonded mates who may wish to know things. We all know how scary initially things can be especially in families such as mine where little is known about these things. I am a muggleborn girl and my husband is a pureblood. His family although well-known is neutral and did not pose any problems for us. My own family who did not understand caused us many problems in the beginning. I have always said if we only communicated openly or bluntly things would be fine but of course stuck up purebloods will never do this. It is also another reason why I have written this book so we can all be open about this experience no matter our blood type. As Harry finished reading it he was stunned. He was more so stunned when Ginny cried. "Harry I am so sorry. I thought something was wrong with me. I contemplated writing home to mum about it but hadn't gotten around to doing it yet. I started feeling very brave and intensely towards you. You have no idea how much I enjoyed seeing you explode the other day. I think we should buy those potions now. If I don't want to do anything I can always tell you but I know now that I do. I don't think I'm like her though!" she said pointing at the book as she sat up to look into his eyes.
"In what way do you mean?" he asked her nervously twitching a little bit at the awkwardness of the conversation.
"Well she said she likes it four times a week and I don't think I could handle all that. I know I want you and it did scare me very much. In fact I've been on edge all day thinking about it. I imagine I might be a twice a week person. Does that bother you?" she asked him nerves radiating from her in waves as he put his hand to his mouth quickly to stop from throwing up.
"Ginny please calm down or I may vomit. Your nerves are a bit too much for me to handle right now. I am fine with whatever you are fine with so long as it makes you happy. You make me so happy my Ginny flower. I love you so much!" he said as she smiled brightly and leaped at him kissing him tenderly as he owl ordered for the potions ordering four of them. Ginny was stunned by this but relaxed when he explained that neither Draco nor Padma knew anything about it. The potions eventually arrived and he had Lolly give some to Draco and Padma with explicit instructions on what to do. Draco was thankful indeed for his new best friends thinking so much of him and Padma.
Back at their room harry and Ginny settled down to drink the very large potion both feeling highly overwhelmed by the size. Harry had decided to try and chug his potion in one go which obviously didn't work as he felt as though he was drinking far too much too soon. Grabbing some litre bottles he split the potion evenly and slowly but surely drank the potion as did Ginny. It didn't really taste of much and within an hour it was gone. They did however feel so exceptionally full that having any dinner would be out for them tonight. They went to the feast that night and noticed that Dumbledore was indeed very much on edge and trying hard not to show it. He looked highly freaked out and they wondered why. They could actually tell that some of the staff also wondered that but weren't asking him about it. They managed to get through dinner claiming to have a stomach ache and not wanting to eat anything tonight. They said they'd just have breakfast in the morning and were left alone. Draco and Padma just told everyone they were still full from lunch as they had eaten way too much without realising and would need to learn to pace themselves. Draco paid Harry for the potion quietly at dinner which no one noticed as they were all busy eating and talking. Dumbledore eyed Harry and felt like he would need to talk to him again soon and see what if anything he knew about the stone. This would be interesting.
