Saiyans on the Grandline
"Huh, I'm alive." Luffy said with a sigh as he sat up in the middle of the crater Kuma's power made when it had finished sending Luffy flying for three days and nights. "Don't know what happened, but I don't think my rubber powers saved me this time." He thought aloud before getting to his feet.
Looking around, Luffy found himself in the middle of a jungle area, sort of reminding him of the Jungle Island that had been part of Shiki's floating Archipelago.
"Also, what's this bear paw looking thing doing on the ground?" He questioned, dusting himself off and righting the position of his hat on his head as he backed up, unaware of the beast that stood behind him. "If everyone else had a landing like this, they might be okay. Oh well, gotta get back."
The Beast, which was a giant boar, thought Luffy was food and tried to bite down on him, only for the rubber man to move to the left as he looked around.
"Where am I?" Luffy questioned.
The boar tried eating him again, but he moved to the other side.
"Which way is the Sabaody Archipelago from here?" He asked.
The boar tried to eat Luffy a third time, but was met with the same results as the rubber man moved back to the center of its vision. For a final time, the boar tried eating Luffy, but the Straw Hat Captain sat down, and the force of the boars chomp not only broke its teeth, but also destroyed its tusks like glass.
"Wait a sec." Luffy smiled, pulling Rayleigh's Vivre Card out of his pocket. "I have my Vivre Card. Of course, alright. Good thing everyone got one huh? Oh wait, Kaen didn't get one, guess searching for him will be our first mission after we reunite. I wonder where everyone else is though, I hope they're doing okay."
~Mina~
"HEY." Mina cried out. "Get me the hell out of here. Do you hear me?"
Struggling against her restraints, as her hands were cuffed behind her back, chained to the wall, Mina tried to break free as she had no intention of staying there.
"Are you chumps even listening to me?" Mina questioned as she shouted out.
"Put a sock in it." One of her cellmates said. "No one's coming to release you, just because you shout at them to do so."
"Well at least I'm not just sitting there like a bump on a log." Mina stated. "Damn it, why isn't my acid working?"
"Sea Prism Stone cuffs." The other said. "They give off the same wavelength as the ocean itself, so they're able to negate Devil Fruit powers."
"I'm aware of what Sea Prism Stone is, but I didn't eat a Devil Fruit." Mina said.
"I don't really see how you'd have powers over acid otherwise." The second man said.
"Look, it's complicated." Mina said. "Let's start over. Maybe we can help each other. My name is Mina Ashido Yagi."
"It's a pleasure to meet you Yagi. I am Jinbe."
Sitting across from Mina on the other side of the cell, was a large blue skinned fish-man. He possessed a stocky build similar to that of a sumo wrestler and a face that made Mina think of Oni, with yellow eyebrows and sideburns to accompany that image. She spotted a lightning shaped scar that can be seen from his left sideburn and reaching over his left eye. He also possesses two tusk-like conical lower fangs, adding to the image of an Oni Mina had, with a severe underbite, which made room for his huge fangs. He also had long, two-toned black hair, with two long gold stripes, coming from the roots over his forehead and trailing down the back, a topknot, and tuft of hair on his chin with a slight green hue. His hands and feet were webbed, typical for a fish-man, and his limbs seemed somewhat thin in comparison with his enormous girth, but Mina knew not to judge his abilities based on looks. His gills, a pale pinkish color, are in between his shoulders and neck. Under his pale red coat, he was wearing a coral colored outfit that reminded Mina of traditional Japanese clothing covered all over with black and white square-shaped patterns with the black and white layers alternating each other, ending with a dark square at the middle of each and every one of them. She also noticed his attire was completed with a purple obi around his waist.
"Just call me Mina." She said.
"Well if we're going around, introducing each other, my name is Portgas D. Ace." The other cellmate said. "Second Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates."
Sitting there against the wall, with his arms held painfully up over his head, in the center of the cell was a tall muscular young man with curly black hair, and some rather childish freckles on his face under his cheeks. Mina could see, a tattoo on his left arm and back. She recognized the Whitebeard Jolly Roger on his back, while the tattoo on his left upper bicep spelled out, ASCE, vertically with the S crossed off with an X over it. Ace was completely shirtless, while he wore black boots, black knee-length shorts with an eyelet-studded orange belt, and a blue pouch belted around his left leg. He also wore a short second belt with a large red, A, on the silver buckle over his right hip, but left it unfastened and threaded the free end along the back of his shorts. She saw a Log Pose on his left wrist, similar to the one Nami wore, but was made of metal instead of wood, along with a red and white striped bracelet his wrist in front of the Log Pose, and an orange elbow guard. He had a red beaded necklace around his neck, but Mina could tell, the piece that completed the outfit, was missing somewhere.
"You're Ace?" Mina asked. "You're Luffy's older brother?"
"You know the Crybaby?" Ace asked.
"Crybaby, that's a good one, but doesn't seem accurate." Mina said, before turning to her side as much as she could, giving Ace a better view of her left shoulder and the Straw Hat Jolly Roger tattooed on it. "Luffy's my captain. My entire family is part of his crew. Me, my husband, and my daughter."
"Why include your daughter on such a dangerous lifestyle?" Jinbe asked.
"The plan, originally, was that my daughter and I, would find an island to settle down on, while my husband remained a member of the crew, while sending us portions of his share of treasure to keep food on the table, and a roof over out heads. But Eri proved herself capable on Thriller Bark, and against Shiki the Golden Lion, so we all stayed as official members of the crew." Mina explained.
"How'd you meet my little brothers crew?" Ace asked.
"His crew saved our lives." Mina said. "They found us drifting in the ocean one day, and even had the ship's doctor treat our wounds."
"That certainly sounds like something he'd have his crew do." Ace chuckled.
"But this is vert concerning, and confusing." Jinbe said.
"How so?" Ace asked.
"The Straw Hats are on the World Government's radar, but to have one of them locked up down here, without even a bounty on her head? Something's not adding up." Jinbe said.
"I'm bait." Mina sighed.
"Bait?" Jinbe inquired. "Could you elaborate?"
"It's not me, that the World Government really wants, it's my husband. His strength is greater then my own, and it's not hard to understand why." Mina said.
"We don't really get the news down here. So could you please explain why your husband is of interest to the Government?" Ace questioned.
"Me, my daughter, and my husband." Mina said. "We're not human, we're something more, something the Government fears with a passion. We're Saiyans."
~Eri~
Eri just sat on the couch, looking down at the cup of juice in an old style tea cup, that had been placed in front of her, before she noticed a plate of rice crackers out of the corner of her eye, being placed next to the juice. Looking up, Eri saw the same face of the man who'd given her these snacks. He was tall, burly, had gray hair and a scar on the side of his face, next to him were two Marines, one wearing a bandanna with pink hair and glasses on his forehead, the other with blonde hair was wearing a visor over his eyes and a cowboy hat on his head.
"Here are some… rice crackers if you're hungry." Monkey D. Garp said.
"Thanks, but I'm not." Eri said, bringing her legs up to her chest as she hugged them, hiding her face as her stomach growled in hunger.
"Listen kid, I know you have no real reason to trust us, after what you went through on Sabaody." Garp said. "But I'm being honest with you, when I say I'm concerned for your health and you have to eat something. It's been over three days since you probably last ate anything."
"I'm not gonna eat anything you give me." Eri said.
"Mind if I handle this sir?" The pink haired marine questioned.
"Be my guest Koby. She's about as stubborn as my son and grandsons." Garp sighed.
"Hey there kid." Koby said, sitting on the couch next to her.
"Leave me alone." Eri said, turning away from him.
"Listen, I know you don't trust us. An' I don't blame you, you've probably met some of our corrupted officers traveling with Luffy." Koby guessed.
"You know Uncle Luffy?" Eri asked.
"Believe it or not, I was there when he recruited his first mate, Roronoa Zoro." Koby smiled. "It was that fateful day, that Luffy formed his crew, and that they both helped me join the Marines, after Luffy saved me from this mean, fat pirate lady. Though I never had the courage to say any insults straight to her face until then."
"So you're a friend of Uncle Luffy's." Eri said, turning to look at him.
"I guess you could say I am." Koby said. "The man standing over in the corner, reading off reports to Vice Admiral Garp, is Helmeppo. He was actually the son of a tyrannical Marine Commander, before Luffy and Zoro set him straight the day I joined. But after some rough patches, Helmeppo isn't such a bad guy once you give him a chance."
Eri's stomach growled again, alerting Koby to the present situation.
"I know you don't seem to trust us." Koby said, taking one of the rice crackers. "But I assure you, these aren't poisoned."
Taking a bite out of the cracker, Koby ate it with a smile on his face, before Eri turned to the plate, and grabbed one for herself, drinking the juice with the crunchy snack.
"So, who is Garp?" Eri asked.
"If you weren't aware, he's Luffy's grandfather." Koby said.
"I think I actually remember Shakky mentioning something about having his baby once." Eri said.
"You're kidding. Shakky the Notorious Pirate from Garp's golden days?" Koby asked. "It's hard to imagine, but then again I've never heard him talk about his personal life outside of Luffy being his grandson. Aside from Dragon being his son."
"KOBY." Garp cried out from his desk, obviously having heard him. "That's sensitive information."
"Sorry sir." Koby said, standing straight up and saluting.
"Who's Dragon?" Eri asked.
"That right I forgot, you're not from this planet." Koby said. "Monkey D. Dragon. He's a revolutionary who's causing trouble for the World Government."
"Then I support him." Eri said.
"Please don't say that." Koby sighed. "Garp had to pull a lot of strings to get you into his custody to avoid the same fate as your…"
"Koby I think you've said enough." Garp stated.
"Yes sir." Koby said, realizing what he was about to say.
"You were gonna say the same fate as my Mama." Eri said. "I'm six, not stupid."
"Right." Koby sighed, before noticing Eri's arms. "Those scars."
Garp and Helmeppo looked up from their paperwork hearing Koby mention something about scars.
"Eri, who did this to you?" Koby questioned, examining one of Eri's arms, before she pulled it back and turned away.
"I don't wanna talk about it." Eri said.
Koby just looked at Eri, before a stern expression crossed his face.
"Eri, did your father do this to you?"
"NO!" Eri shouted, turning right back at him with anger clear in her eyes. "Papa would never hurt me, he'd never cause me harm. Sure he scolds me when I do something I'm not supposed to, but he's never put his hands on me in any harmful way."
"Then who did this to you?" Koby asked, grabbing Eri's arm.
Eri just looked at Koby, before she pulled her arm from his grip and turned her back to him again.
"The man Papa saved me from." Eri said. "Papa rescued me from a madman. My original power, was called Rewind. I could return any living thing to a previous state, and that made my blood and cells very valuable to someone, who wanted to erase Quirks and return the title of Yakuza to its former glory. Aunty Athena has the power to switch out someone else's, even collect and create upgraded copies of those powers. So when I was safe, she switched out Rewind, for a power called White Wrath, a mix of two powers known as White Tiger and Wrath. The angrier I get, the stronger I become and the more feral I look, without turning completely into a white tiger."
"But, why's the fur blue then?" Helmeppo questioned.
Eri looked towards Helmeppo and Garp, before turning away.
"A while back we ran into the Golden Lion Pirates, and Shiki's scientist Dr. Indigo, injected me with experimental upgraded serums of S-IQ infused with the spinal fluid and stem cells of a blue twin tailed tiger beast. Papa got mad, and even turned into an evolved Saiyan, before we both took Shiki down."
"Was this the creature?" Garp asked, coming up to Eri and handing her a photo of a blue furred saber toothed twin tailed tiger lying dead on an examination table.
"Yeah, that's it." Eri said. "How'd you get it?"
"When Shiki's floating Archipelago fell, we searched through the wreckage of the island that had his main home and laboratory on it. We found this thing amid the ruins. We originally though the other half was buried under stone and rubble, and it had a really long torso, but we were wrong when we removed the rubble." Helmeppo said.
"Let's just say, a lot of Marines lost their lunches after seeing it." Koby said, stopping Helmeppo from showing Eri the rest of the images.
"Eri, if your father is a hero, then why would he side with a gang of pirates?" Garp questioned. "I mean no offense to my grandson, but a pirate's life isn't one worth making an enemy of the entire world for. An' he burned down a flag with the Government Sigil, declaring war against the entire World Government at Enies Lobby."
"Because Papa fights for what he believes is right, and he knows that a world, unified under the rule of an iron fist of one leader, forcing its people to all be the same, is not freedom, it's tyranny." Eri said.
"What would his parents say about this though?" Koby asked.
"My grandpa is the strongest hero our world has ever known. He's capable of changing the weather with a single punch, and he's hailed as the #1 Hero throughout the entire world." Eri said. "So Grandpa All Might, would be proud of the choice Papa made to fight against the World Government."
~Kaen~
"Time runs short Kaen, you must awaken and save your family." An unfamiliar voice rang in Kaen's head. "Hurry now, you must not delay. AWAKEN."
Kaen's eyes shot open as he instantly sat up in bed, the voice in his head vanishing as he awoke from slumber.
"Mina, Eri." Kaen gasped, before clutching his side as he felt a bolt of pain jolt through him.
"Hey, easy now. You're hurt." A womanly voice said, gently putting one hand on Kaen's shoulder, and another on his chest. "Lay back down, you need your rest, you've only been out of it for a couple hours."
"Where am I?" Kaen questioned as the Doctor pushed him back on the mattress he was on.
"You're aboard the Moby Dick. The head ship in the Whitebeard Pirates fleet." The doctor said. "You're a member of the Straw Hat crew, aren't you?"
"Could tell from the Jolly Roger on my vest?" Kaen smiled, opening one eye to see the blonde haired, busty doctor.
"Yes. Interesting choice of crew to join."
"Well, they saved my life, and I didn't have many other options for making a living in this world." Kaen huffed.
"I bet." The doctor said. "Now that you're awake, I can return to my duties at my Captain's side."
"Taking care of Whitebeard?"
"All the injured crewmates actually. I'm one of several doctors onboard the Moby Dick."
With the Doctor gone, Kaen looked around to see he was in a rather nice room, and he could tell it wasn't Whitebeard's, because he'd heard stories that the man was a giant, and the bed was far too small.
"As much as I appreciate being mended like this, I have to get back to my crew." Kaen groaned, forcing himself out of bed.
"Not with those injuries still so fresh you're not."
Kaen looked up to see the man he last saw, before passing out, carrying a tray of food, and it wasn't a small amount of food on the platter either.
"Glad to see you're awake, the Doc told me you'd probably be hungry. The name's Marco."
"Kaen." He said.
"You're a Saiyan right?" Marco asked, putting the tray of food on his lap.
"What gave me away, the tail?"
"Pretty much. Your body didn't really react to the Sea Prism Stone cuff we used to test if you had Devil Fruit powers." Marco said. "What were you doing that got you so badly wounded before you were sent flying here."
"Fought Admiral Kizaru, then got hit by Bartholomew Kuma's Paw-Paw powers." Kaen said.
"You fought an Admiral, and a Warlord, and lived. I shouldn't be surprised, seeing as you're a Saiyan, but I am." Marco chuckled. "But like I said, you're not going anywhere while injured so badly."
"You're starting to sound like my dad." Kaen groaned, scooting to lean back against the headboard.
"Don't care. There's a paper on the tray to give you something to read." Marco said, leaving the room.
Kaen sighed and began eating his food given to him. He was about halfway through the edible mountain, and drinking from the pitcher of water, when he decided to read the paper. But what he saw caused him to spit take in anger, before he was instantly on his feet out of bed, quickly grabbing his clothes that had been set aside, and hastily put them on as he ran out the door, running past Marco as he was coming with another tray piled high with food.
"Hey, where the hell do you think you're going?" Marco questioned.
"I have to go, now." Kaen stated, running through the maze of the underside of the ship, before finding his way to the exit.
Upon reaching the main deck, Kaen saw multiple pirates, and a lot of them ran towards him, after putting away baby transponder snails.
"Sorry pal, but Commander Marco's ordered us to make sure you don't leave." One of them said, as they all rushed him.
"I don't have time for this shit." Kaen growled, flying over the group, before falling back to the ship's deck on the other side of the capture squad. "What the? Oh hell no, why isn't my flying technique working?"
Looking back, Kaen had to duck before pivoting on the ball of his right foot to evade two attempts at capturing him, before he jumped to the side to evade a double team up.
"You're a slippery one aren't ya?" One of them questioned.
"You have no idea how slippery I can be." Kaen said, leaping over the pirate like a gymnastics horse.
Unfortunately, Kaen couldn't keep these escape attempts up for very long, before he was grabbed and pinned down by the crew.
"Sorry kid, but this is for your own good. You need to get some rest and recover. You can return to your crew once you've healed up enough."
"No. Get off me, I have to go." Kaen stated as he struggled to break free of their grip, an anger welling up inside him. "I said. GET OFF OF ME!" He cried out, a wave of energy rushing out of his body.
Within seconds all the pirates around him began to loosen their grips, as they fell into unconsciousness, one by one until they were all unconscious.
"Did I do that?" Kaen questioned pushing himself free of the pile of unconscious pirates.
"Looks like you're quite the rarity." Marco said, coming to him. "Isn't he Pops?"
"Indeed. I'd say this is a once in a lifetime kind of find."
Kaen's eyes widened and he turned around to see a large throne like seat, with a giant of a man sitting in it, an IV needle connected to the back of his hand, and a large weapon within reach of his grasp.
"Whitebeard I presume?" Kaen questioned, carefully jumping out of the pile and backing away.
"Yes my boy, that's me. I am one of the Four Emperor's of the New World." Whitebeard stated.
"I'm sorry, I appreciate your hospitality but I have to go." Kaen said, before trying to take off again, managing to stay air born this time as he flew away.
"Marco."
"On it Pops." Marco said, his arms transforming into blue blaming wings, before he took off after Kaen, and getting in his way. "Why are you trying so hard to leave, did we not give you enough food, did we give you an old issue of the newspaper?"
"I don't have time to argue this with you." Kaen exclaimed throwing a punch at Marco. "I have to go now. It's life or death."
Hearing this, intrigued Whitebeard as he had the feeling something more was at play here, if Kaen was willing to use that card to leave. The hit the Saiyan threw at the Zoan Fruit user connected, sending Marco falling for a second, allowing for Kaen to fly farther away, before Marco corrected himself and flew right back at Kaen, getting in his way once more.
"Sorry, but you're not going anywhere until your injuries have healed enough." Marco said, with an angered face as blood dripped from his nose. "Captain's orders."
Rushing Kaen, Marco was enveloped in a wave of blue flames, before tackling the Saiyan and landing on the deck in front of Whitebeard, as a fully transformed bird comprised of blue flames.
"Stay down." Marco exclaimed, pressing harder on Kaen.
"I can't." Kaen growled, pushing up with his hands on Marco's talons.
Marco was much stronger in his full Phoenix form then he was in his hybrid or human forms, but the wiggle room Kaen managed to get, was all he needed as he reached into his vest.
"Fine. I didn't wanna have to do this, because you were so nice and treated my injuries, but if you won't let me leave." Kaen growled, popping a Primal Rage into his mouth, eating it. "Then I'm gonna have to force my way past you."
(Cue Music… Venom: Eminem)
Marco's eyes widened as Kaen's strength increased, pushing up against his talons more and more, with ever growing strength as he got to one knee, before looking up at the Phoenix Man, surprising Marco as Kaen's eyes had red shadow trim and ember irises now, when he hadn't before.
Kaen pushed against Marco as the Phoenix pressed down harder on him, before the Saiyan let out a mighty roar, and threw his arms up, knocking Marco off balance before he Kaen vanished and was instantly above Marco as he continued to fall backwards and hit him in the torso with an axe kick, knocking him into the ground. This sudden act of ferocity and primal behavior, was something that even Whitebeard's eyes widened at as he'd not expected to see it coming from someone so injured.
Jumping back from Marco, Kaen landed on the ground and was already breathing heavily. He hadn't even healed up for a few hours, and he was already pushing himself to his current limits.
"Damn kid." Marco coughed, picking himself up back in his human form. "Wasn't expecting that."
"I'm sorry, but I'm needing to go." Kaen said.
"Then why aren't you leaving now while you can?" Marco questioned.
"Because I'm running on empty and I can't trust my flying technique won't fail me mid flight."
"I see. So you're stuck here, whether you like it or not." Marco said.
"Just until my Ki recharges." Kaen stated.
"Then how's about we settle the score here?" Marco questioned. "I gotta pay you back for that kick, and knocking out my crewmates."
"I don't have time to be playing games." Kaen growled. "I need to leave now."
"You don't understand." Marco said, cracking his knuckles. "It wasn't a request, or a suggestion. You're on the Moby Dick, main ship of the Whitebeard united front."
"Fine." Kaen glared, taking a fighting stance. "But as soon as my power is back, I have to go."
Taking his own fighting stance Marco lunged at Kaen, throwing a jab at the Saiyan, before the teen pirate ducked and hit Marco with an uppercut and a left hook, knocking Marco back.
"Smart, you're well versed in close quarters combat." Marco said.
"It's what I'm best at." Kaen said, closing the distance between him and Marco.
Without giving the Whitebeard's Vice Captain a chance to think, Kaen hit Marco with a jab cross combo to the face, before hitting him with a spinning roundhouse kick to the head, knocking him down.
"Enough." Whitebeard declared, pushing himself up from his seat.
Kaen stepped back as the Emperor stepped forward, grabbing his weapon.
"If you insist on leaving, then you must go through me to do so." Whitebeard stated.
"I'm not ready for a fight like this." Kaen sighed, grabbing his shield from his back and extending it.
Throwing the shield, Kaen jumped to one side as his weapon of defense ricocheted off the wall on the railing of the ship, and went for Whitebeard's head, but the Emperor used his weapon to deflect it, before swinging it down on Kaen.
Acting without thinking, Kaen clapped his hands together, catching the blade of the weapon before it could cause him harm; the strength behind the blow forcing the Saiyan teen to one knee, and causing the floor at his feet to crack.
"Impressive. You're not half bad my boy." Whitebeard said, before pressing down harder. "But it's not enough."
Focusing his Haki, Whitebeard removed the blade, and without a moment's hesitation, slammed his fist down on Kaen, the impact causing the newspaper, and a closed pocket watch to fall from Kaen's vest.
"Marco, restrain him." Whitebeard said, removing his fist from the ground, and noticing the items. "An' get the Shipwrights to repair the damages done in the fight."
(End Song…)
"It's over kid." Marco huffed, back in his full Phoenix form, slamming his foot on Kaen's chest. "Give up."
"I can't." Kaen growled as Marco's bird foot pressed harder on his chest, while the Saiyan tried reaching for the fallen objects from his vest, but was too late as someone else had already grabbed them.
Whitebeard managed to grab the paper and watch, before opening the latter of the objects, as he sat back in his throne, and his eyes widened slightly when he saw a photo of Kaen with a few other people on the lid. Looking at the paper, Whitebeard saw the pink haired woman, and child's photo's in the paper, with the headlines, Wanted Straw Hat Pirate Woman to be Executed at the same time as Portgas D. Ace. Child of the Straw Hats in parental custody of Vice Admiral Monkey D. Garp.
"Let him go Marco." Whitebeard said, not even looking up from the paper.
"But pops…"
"Let him go I said. I believe he has a valid reason for trying to leave like he has." Whitebeard stated.
Without another word Marco stepped back, reverting back to his human form, as Kaen picked himself up just before he was restrained on his knees with his arms forcefully behind his back, by the crewmates who'd managed to regain consciousness and seemed to, understandably have a bone to pick with him, after the stunt he pulled that knocked them all out in the first place. Against his doctor's wishes Whitebeard got up from his seat again, and took a knee in front of Kaen, before holding up the newspaper.
"Tell me child, what do these two mean to you?" Whitebeard questioned. "Their in this photograph with you and a couple other people, so they must have some connection to you."
Kaen was silent, looking Whitebeard dead in the eye before he relented and hung his head in defeat.
"Their names are Mina and Eri." Kaen huffed. "They're my wife and daughter. The paper explains how Kizaru was able to grab and take them into custody just as Kuma sent me flying."
"I see." Whitebeard said, his men letting Kaen go, understanding now why he tried to leave, with Marco looking at him in shock. "You tried to leave, because you saw that your wife had been added to the execution of Portgas D. Ace, in little over a week, and your daughter had been taken into the parental custody of Vice Admiral Monkey D. Garp."
"All because we're Saiyans. They don't deserve this, they don't deserve to die, and be taken away from those who love them." Kaen said, his arms on his legs. "They're my family, I have to go and rescue them. I'm the one who killed those Celestial Dragons, not them. They had nothing to do with it."
"My word boy, are you mad? You killed the Celestial Dragons spoken of in the papers?" Whitebeard questioned as the crew began murmuring at his insane actions.
"Charloss… he'd tried to purchase my wife and mermaid friend at a slave trading auction, then he shot my friend Hachi, and when my daughter Eri tried to help him, Charloss shot her as well, and I just snapped." Kaen said, his body trembling as tears fell to the deck. "An' now, the only family I have left, is gonna die and be taken away from me, because I couldn't keep my temper under control."
Whitebeard looked at Kaen as the Saiyan curled up on his arms and legs, crying his heart out as he felt the pain of what was happening, shatter his heart into a million pieces.
"My boy." Whitebeard said. "Currently the Straw Hat Pirates, have forcefully been disbanded, meaning they are no more until they reunite."
"An' we will, we will reunite with one another." Kaen said through gritted teeth and tears.
"In the meantime, before that happens. I'd like to offer you a place here on my crew, as part of our family." Whitebeard said.
"You what?" Kaen questioned, looking up at Whitebeard as the Emperor put a hand on his back.
"I want you to be part of our family. Every child of mine, is special, and I would do anything to protect them. Including Ace, the one your wife is to be executed with." Whitebeard stated. "Ace is Second Division Commander of my crew, and one of my children."
"If the Marines have him, we're gonna go to war to get him back." Marco stated, blowing his nose, and shooting out a bloody booger. "You can negate Devil Fruit powers. An' there will be plenty in the battle to come."
"An' with you as a member of our crew, we'll have even more reason to go to war with Marineford." Whitebeard stated. "We will save your wife and daughter alongside you, if you fight alongside us to rescue Ace."
Kaen just looked at Whitebeard, clenching his fists and gritting his teeth.
"You know what?" Kaen asked, picking himself up, and standing tall looking directly at Whitebeard. "You've got yourself a new crewmate, one that's a Saiyan Warrior."
"Welcome aboard my boy." Whitebeard smiled.
~Mina~
"So let me see if I got this right." Ace said. "You're a Saiyan, but you're not on this world, on purpose."
"Correct." Mina said. "Kaen, Eri, and myself ended up on this world by accident, when we were caught in an explosion involving a teleportation invention made by Kaen's sister. Though it wasn't until after Kaen took down Gecko Moria, that we became husband and wife."
"I'm not surprised your husband took down Moria. He's the weakest of the Seven Warlords. Before that Crocodile was the weakest." Jinbe said.
"An' you're saying you're a Warlord?" Mina asked.
"That's a discussion that's up for debate. I refuse to participate in the war against Whitebeard, because I owe him a debt for what he did to save Fishman Island and my people." Jinbe stated.
"Well, if it makes you feel any better, the world Kaen and I hail from, is filled with heroes. An' we were actually in training to become heroes ourselves." Mina smiled. "An' after what happened on Sabaody, There's no way the World Government is gonna be able to ignore his existence now."
"What's he do on Sabaody?" Jinbe asked.
"I'm not proud of it, but as his wife I do love him for that fiery passion he has. Kaen killed three Celestial Dragons at a slave trading auction house." Mina said, before she frowned.
"He what?" Ace gasped. "That was gutsy of him. Luffy would have just punched them in the face."
"Gutsy and reckless." Jinbe said.
"Even so, Kaen did it because one of them had purchased our friend Camie, a mermaid, as well as myself in that very auction. An' when a friend of ours tried stopping Luffy from breaking us out, he got shot by the same Celestial Dragon, before he shot Eri too." Mina said.
"I'm not surprised a Celestial Dragon shot a child." Ace said with anger through gritted teeth. "When Luffy and I were little, we lost our brother Sabo to a Celestial Dragon firing a shoulder cannon at the small ship he was sailing, with a Jolly Roger on…"
Clink!
"…it." Ace finished, looking over at Mina, to see she broke through the cuffs on her wrists as they dropped to the ground.
"Impossible. Sea Prism Stone is harder and stronger then diamond." Jinbe said.
"Anger can be a very powerful strength enhancer, especially for a Saiyan Warrior." Mina sighed, rubbing her wrists to relieve some of the soreness. "But that's all I can do. Without understanding why I can't produce acid, I won't be able to break any of us free with brute strength alone, and I can't destroy the ones around my ankles either."
"Still, it's some progress." Ace said. "An' so long as you remain chained to the wall, even if it's just your legs, the guards patrolling shouldn't have any reason to harass you."
"Still, I'm grateful Kaen rescued a Mermaid. I actually know Camie, a sweet girl if a little air headed." Jinbe said.
"No kidding. We met her when Kaen punched a Sea King in the stomach, and she came flying out its mouth with Pappagu. Her shirt had been completely digested at that point though." Mina laughed.
"Oh dear sounds like she got into some trouble again." Jinbe chuckled. "So I assume it was Hachi who got shot when trying to stop Straw Hat?"
"Yeah. Eri had ran ahead of him and Luffy, but when she turned back to help him, that's when she got shot." Mina said, readjusting her bikini top.
"What about you? Are you doing okay?" Ace asked, trying to ignore the young woman's hot figure.
"Me? I'm fine. I was displayed at the auction in nothing but a loin flap with my arms chained behind my back, so everyone got a free show. Didn't really think that plan through." Mina said.
"Plan?" Jinbe asked.
"Yep. I had intentionally allowed myself to get kidnapped. Plan was, get taken to kidnapper's hideout, wait for Kaen to use his Scouter to track the signal from mine, rescue me, and then find and destroy the auction house. But it didn't go very well as Peterman stole my Scouter, and took Camie and I straight to the Auction House instead of his hideout." Mina explained.
"At least you were trying to stop a slave trading operation." Ace smiled.
"An' it was stopped, in the end." Mina said.
"But the question is, for how long?" Jinbe asked.
"Right. The auction house itself might have been destroyed, but there's no telling how of when the one running it, is gonna spring it back up out of the ground." Mina said. "But right now… I have more concerning matters on my mind."
"Your daughters whereabouts?"
"That, and what else Kaen's hiding from me." Mina said. "Before we were sent out separate ways, in mid-combat Kaen said something shocking. He swore on his status as the Son of All Might, the #1 Hero of our world, he would never abandon his friends of family."
"What's got you so worried about that?" Ace asked.
"That was the first time, I'd heard him say anything about being the Son, of the Strongest Hero alive." Mina stated.
~Eri~
"I'm heading off to Impel Down." Garp said, throwing on his jacket. "Koby, Helmeppo, keep an eye on Eri. This is something I have to do alone."
"But sir, wouldn't it be better if you brought Eri, to say her final goodbyes?" Koby asked.
"No." Garp said, looking over to Eri, who was sitting over in a corner toying with something. "I don't want to make it harder for her. It's already gonna be hard enough for the child, since Sengoku is forcing me to bring her to the execution to make her watch as part of the arrangement I made with him for keeping her in my custody."
"Right, I understand sir." Koby saluted.
"We'll keep an eye on her." Helmeppo said.
Over in the corner, Eri was looking through her Duplication Pack as she pulled out various items, jars of candy from Spa Island, bags of Senzu Beans in which she quickly put back into the void of her bag, bottles of juice and soda, and finally a treasure she'd been keeping safe, since Thriller Bark.
Pulling the small wooden treasure box from her bag, Eri opened it up, revealing the contents within, opening up a debate within her mind on if losing her ability to swim and going to the beach to have fun with her parents, would be worth the trade off of the power the Devil Fruit granted.
