Shota and Lucoa snuck over to the police station under the cover of night. They hid in an alleyway next to the station to plan out their next move.
"Alright, so I'm thinking we find a vent, crawl through it, find the evidence room, get the book, and make our way out. Sound good?"
"Sounds good, Shota-baby."
"I'm pretty sure there's a vent on the roof. Can you make a portal up there? Actually, that might make some noise. I'll just climb up"
"Be careful, Shota-baby."
Shota grabbed a rusty pipe connected to the wall and started climbing. There were very few handholds, so it was difficult. He had made it almost a third of the way up when the pipe broke, sending him falling backwards.
"Aah!"
"I got you, Shota-baby!"
Lucoa ran under him, and Shota fell on top of her. His head landed right between her breasts, and he was still holding the pipe.
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah, I- Aah! Stop touching me!"
"You're so handsy, you know."
Shota got up and brushed himself off. Then he looked at Lucoa and noticed she was lying on top of a pile of cardboard boxes and trash bags.
"What the- Hey! There were trash bags here to catch me! Why did you have to get in the way?"
"Well, I can't have my Shota-baby falling in a pile of trash, now can I?"
"Whatever. Can you get me to the top? Quietly?"
"Sure thing."
Lucoa transformed into her long, snake-like dragon form. Her body filled up the entire alleyway and almost spilled out into the street. Her head was right at the top of the building.
"Here, how about you climb me?"
"What the- ugh, fine."
Shota grabbed onto Lucoa's backside and started climbing her like a ladder.
"You're so strong, have you been working out lately?"
"Not recently. I've been having to deal with this pressing issue."
"What, is it too hard to climb?"
"No, I'm talking about the Tohru-Elma issue. It was totally my fault, and it feels like the world is trying to stop me from fixing it."
"Hey, don't worry. We're gonna fix it this time, right?"
"I hope so. I just want to put this all behind me."
"Speaking of behind, your butt is looking fine."
"Stop it! How are you even seeing me anyway? I'm invisible!"
"Dragon eyes, Shota-baby. They see everything."
Shota went over to the roof vent, and Lucoa used her magic to blind the security cameras, which is a thing she could do, apparently. Shota used a screwdriver and got the cover off of the vent. The two climbed inside.
The vent was short and very dusty. It wasn't clean and large like in the movies. It was actually a very tight fit.
"Come on, Lucoa."
"Can't. I'm stuck."
"Huh?"
Shota turned around to check on Lucoa. She was stuck in the vent, her huge breasts keeping her from advancing.
"I just don't get what's keeping me stuck."
"Clearly you don't. Can you make your breasts shrink?"
"Aw, but I like my huge breasts. They're my most defining feature."
"Just do it."
Lucoa shrunk her E cups into a more reasonable pair of B cups. The two crawled a little further and found the end of the vent.
"Well, looks like we're getting out here. Oh god, that looks high."
Shota removed the vent cover and looked down. It was the main office area. The vent was too high up to jump down from, at least without some moderate injuries.
"Here, let me help you out."
"Hm? How?"
"Like this!"
Lucoa grabbed Shota from behind and dropped down into the room. She landed on her back, and Shota landed on top of her, his head landing right between her breasts.
"Agh! Not again!"
"You ok?"
"Well, yeah, but that probably made a lot of noise."
"We should be fine."
"…We landed on top of a couch, didn't we?"
"Mm-hm."
Shota got up and made his way to the evidence holding room. He used a spell to unlock the door and security panel and slipped inside, with Lucoa following close behind.
The evidence room was filled to the brim with evidence drawers. It was about the same size as Shota's room, but more cluttered. The two quickly started looking through each one, trying to find the book.
"It's gotta be in here somewhere."
"Most of these are locked."
"Here, let me get those."
"It's gonna take a while to find your book."
"I know, that's why we need to act fast."
Shota was busy unlocking the drawers and searching through each one. Lucoa was also searching, but then she started sniffing in the air. Something didn't seem right. She sensed some sort of energy present in the building. Almost as if-
Suddenly, the alarms went off. The lights flickered violently. The wires crackled with electricity. The sprinklers went off. Even the appliances in the break room caught fire. Shota and Lucoa bolted out of the station. The police and fire department were on their way, and they couldn't risk being caught.
After getting far from the police station, Shota and Lucoa took a moment to catch their breath.
"What was that!?"
"I don't know. Everything just started going crazy."
"We didn't set off anything, did we?"
"No way. We were being super careful."
"And we didn't get the book. Chances are, they're gonna put it in a more secure spot now, and it'll be impossible to get."
"You know, I actually sensed something weird back there. Almost like someone else was in there…"
"Were they trying to sabotage us?"
"Probably. But who would want to stop us, and why? Other than the police, of course. I mean, we did break into their station."
"Let's get back home and plan our next move."
Lucoa turned into her dragon form, and the two flew off back to Shota's house. Shota was feeling exhausted. Not only did he use a multitude of spells during the night, he also ran about a mile and a half in 10 minutes.
"Don't worry. We'll figure this out."
"There's tons to worry about. What if the book was destroyed? Then Tohru and Elma will be stuck like that and it'll all be my fault."
"You're overworking yourself too much. Right now, you just need some rest. That's all you can do, really."
"…Alright…"
The next morning…
Tohru and Elma woke up well rested. They did a little double stretch and Tohru propped herself up. She noticed that Kanna was still asleep.
"Hey, Kanna. Come on, get up. You can't be late for school."
"Mmm…"
Kanna slowly got up. She looked exhausted, like she didn't get a wink of sleep.
"Kanna, did you get enough sleep last night? You don't look so good."
"Nnn…"
"Anyway, get up. Or else Miss Kobayashi will make you."
"You know, Kanna, you weren't very talkative last night. Hell, you didn't talk at all. Is everything alright?"
"Mmm hmm…"
"Alright, then."
The three of them got dressed for the day. Kanna watched Telma slowly wobble to the closet. It was hard to walk on your arms right after waking up. Kanna giggled a little. She loved seeing little moments like this.
