Hey Guys! I'm so sorry this chapter took so long to update. But I had to move and spend all my time looking for a place to live. And spent the better part of two month's looking, then my birthday happened and that didn't do much for my time to write this.
But as for good news, I now actually have a computer! So no more typing this on my phone and taking forever! I can type way faster on a keypad then a phone anyway so even though I'm pretty busy I can type a lot faster.
Anyway I hope you all enjoy this chapter! also this was half written on a phone, half on a computer, and i reviewed and formatted it on my phone at work the day I'm posting this. So if it looks odd my apologies. Plan to mostly just use the computer from here on out!
Disclaimer. Raina:" I'm the only thing the writer here actually owns. Nee Chan, I guess, and everyone else is credit to Mr. Toriyama. "
It had been just a few short weeks since Gohana had started high school. The time she had spent there had been really fun for her and she couldn't be happier now. Even Raina and Goten had noticed she felt a little more cheery than she usual was. Was hard to tell though considering how happy she usually was in the first place, but they were still able to tell. And today started out like almost every day since she had started.
"Gohana, you better wake up! I will not have you later than you need to be!" Chichi called out to her eldest from the bottom of the stairs.
Getting up and rubbing the sleepiness from her eyes, Gohana then stretched her arms overhead and enjoyed feeling the tension from the night time sleep leave her muscles. Pulling the covers aside, Gohana walked over to her dresser and grabbed some cloths for the day. She could already smell the food her mom was making and it was helping her wake up a little bit. With new found motivation in the form of food, Gohana quickened her pace of getting ready for school.
Chichi was back in the kitchen almost instantly after her attempt to wake up Gohana. Stirring the contents of the large pot, she sniffed the aroma and then started looking through the spice rack for some oregano. Raina was sitting at the table watching her mother in thought and kept kicking her legs in the air as she was still too short to reach the ground with her feet.
"Hey mommy?" Raina started.
"What is it sweetie?" Chichi asked as she added the appropriate amount of spice.
"Well I was wondering could I go to school with Nee Chan for a day?" she asked curiously.
Chichi couldn't help but smile hearing that her youngest daughter was showing somewhat of an interest in schooling. True she was home schooled in like Gohana had been until recently, but she was far less strict. Goten and Raina outwardly hated most formal teachings that she tried to teach them. But in the end Goten was about where his age group was, and Raina had an intense curiosity and always went out of her way to learn something she wanted to. So in the end she never was too strict with them because of that. Besides even at a young age Gohana like to study, and to this day she still loves learning new things. But she now also loves training with everyone.
"Well I don't see why you couldn't sweetie, but you'll have to ask your sister first." She answered which Raina just rested her head on the table now.
"Aww, but what if she says no?"
"Well then the answer at that point will be no. Besides, wouldn't her friends be curious how you even got there?" Chichi questioned.
"I'd fly there of course!" Raina said matter of factly.
"Sweetie, normal people can't fly on their own like all of you can." She said without taking her eye off the food she was preparing. She had finished up with Gohana's lunch already packed up in a capsule for her, and she was hurrying to finish breakfast for her family.
"Oh, right. Sorry I keep forgetting." Raina rubbed the back of her head just like the rest of the Son children.
"Besides that you also have to keep in mind, she's in high school. I don't think that you would really enjoy hearing the lessons."
"But Nee Chan doesn't even learn anything. She said she learned everything when she was like eight years old!" Raina countered.
"Well Raina, that's because Gohana is going to get her college education and needs to finish High School first. Yes I know she already could graduate from college if she wanted to, but she still has to go through it. Besides, she likes it as well." Chichi said pouring the soup into a large bowl and walked over to the table and set it down.
"Would you mind going and waking up your brother?" Chichi asked Raina.
Nodding happily, Raina hopped off the chair and headed up stairs. Once in the hallway, she could hear the shower going and guessed that it was Gohana, and she headed on over to Goten's room. Without even knocking, she opened the door expecting him to be spread out on his bed with his covers all over the place. But she was a little surprised to not only find him awake, but he was already dressed in his usually orange gi and long blue undershirt.
"You're already awake?" she asked surprised.
"Oh good morning sissy! Yeah, Nee Chan showed me something cool last week and I wanted to give it a try right after breakfast!" Goten said happily.
"Oh why didn't she show me?" Raina said sounding a little upset looking down a bit.
"Well why don't you just ask her? I just asked her and she showed me." Goten said walking over to her. "Hey cheer up Raina, even if Gohana cant show you, I can once I figure it out. Apparently it's something Trunks knows, and he didn't wanna share."
"Wait, Gohana is teaching you something that Trunks knows? How does she know to do it?" Raina asked.
Goten wasn't too sure how to answer that one. He just looked a little bit oblivious as he stared up at the ceiling in thought.
"Not sure. But I'm just glad I'm not the last to learn something for once!" he said with a soft teasing tone in his voice.
Raina just glared at him a little and pouted.
"You better show me." Raina said poking Goten's nose.
'And I'm not going to let Nee Chan forget this either!' she though.
Thanks to Raina and Goten's barrage of questions, Gohana had a late start heading off to school. She usually left with about forty five minutes before school started but she only had around half an hour. Kicking it into super saiyan, Gohana was able to go much faster, and she would get there in no time flat. She just wished that Goten hadn't started up the entire fiasco at the table.
"That's the last time I teach Goten something without Raina.' She thought to herself.
Once she reached the limits of the city, Gohana slowed down a little bit as she made the entire trip just shy of twenty minutes. She was hoping that getting to school would be the only thing that her morning consisted of. Almost every morning she had to go and help as Saiyako, and she was usually late for school. At first her teacher in the morning would get upset, but she used the excuse that she lived way out in the mountains and they gave her some lee way. Going back to her base form she continued to head towards school. She didn't see anything that would need Saiyako, and she could feel Videl in the class room as she was just a few blocks from school.
Gohana was glad as she landed that she could have a pretty casual morning after the little fiasco of Raina and Goten arguing. Which technically speaking was more like teasing but it didn't matter to Gohana. Heading towards the stairs, Gohana hurried down to the main hallway. Once again, no one ever went to the roof so she was all clear when she landed. Even though she never even had a close call, she was always very careful.
Once in the hall way, Gohana made her way towards her locker. She never needed her things so she left them at school. It was also helpful in making sure she got her homework turned in, even though she just quickly did it during the last few classes of the day. As usual, all the students around here were chatting away and Gohana just let them be.
Quickly putting the combo in on her locker, Gohana opened it ready to grab her books but froze slightly when she noticed a small envelope in her locker on top of her books. Grabbing it out of curiosity, she looked at the front and it just had her name on it.
"Wait, what the heck is this?" she asked not sure why she would have an envelope in her locker. Putting it into her mouth to hold it for a moment, she grabbed the books and placed them into her what was empty backpack. Heading off to class, she just kept staring at the envelope and decided to just open it up once she got to class.
"Seriously Videl I don't see why you're so worked up about Saiyako." Lime said to Videl who seemed to be somewhat mad still about what happened yesterday. It felt weird to know that Videl was happy being Gohana's friend yet furious at her alter ego.
"Well what do you expect me to be Lime? I had it taken care of and then Saiyako just appeared and finished my job!" Videl countered and she folded her arms over her chest.
"Look you see her all the time, why not just talk to her?" Sharpner spoke up as he was sitting between the two of them and had no choice but to hear.
"You know Sharpner, your pretty smart sometimes." Videl teased her friend.
"I guess I'll take that compliment from you V." Sharpner said leaning his chair back to relax as he rubbed his sore forearms.
Videl just looked pissed off still, but was debating just confronting Saiyako. Still she didn't want to because she knew she would just confront her suspicions about her. And a small part of her still thought Gohana could be Saiyako. She was doubting it a bit more these days, but it was always in the back of her mind. They were just too similar in a few ways and she could never shake it. And she felt they were all getting pretty close with her and didn't want to risk the friendship they were all developing as they were too far between for Videl. But what if her suspicions were wrong and Saiyako and Gohana were different people?
Gohana arrived a few minutes after them bickering back and forth to one another, and sat down in her seat which happened to be next to Erasa today. Pulling her notebooks from her book bag, Gohana replaced it with the envelope.
"Hey there Gohana, how was your weekend?" Erasa happily asked her.
"Hm, oh pretty good I guess. I did a little work then helped show my little brother a martial arts technique. Although I think Raina holds that against me now." She said with a soft chuckle to herself, finally over what happened this morning and now finding it more funny than anything
"Oh how cute. We should hang at your place some weekend, finally get to meet your family!" Erasa said.
"Yeah we never have meet them yet. And you live out in the woods, we could make a camping trip out of it." Sharpner offered.
"Hmm, maybe. Although to be honest I am not sure what my mom would say." She said trying to not say no she already had something to do. Mainly a forty eight hour long training session with Vegita that they did once a month. That and she wanted to see how he was doing mastering ssj2. She could still sense him easily all the time so he wasn't making too much progress, but she wasn't right there to see. She couldn't really tell if he was even doing what she told him to do since once he was a ssj2 she couldn't tell what he was doing since he already powered up.
"Oh well yeah I guess you would have to ask her that first then. Anyway you should ask tonight and let us know!" Erasa said.
The five of them just continued to chit chat for a while until the school bell rang and their teacher walked in. The day just turned to be almost the exact same for Gohana, listening for a few moments and then tuning out as she had learned it years ago. She just went thought the motions of doodling in her notebook, or even taking random research notes she had going through her head from helping Bulma. Just anything to keep the day more interesting was a good idea for her so the day went a little bit faster.
'Am I ever going to learn something new here?' she thought to herself.
"All right class, today I want you to turn to page seventy six. We are going to start up on the history of the Fire Mountain Kingdom." The teacher spoke softly opening up her own text book so she could at least read along.
Gohana's attention was for once caught the entire time she had been at school, at least about class work that it. Technically speaking she never did learn the kingdom's history as she was just told it through her grampa and her mom. So finally getting a real experience learning something in school would happen. And it only took till the second third class of the day for her question to herself earlier to happen.
"Hey Gohana, don't you and Lime live somewhat near there?" Videl asked.
"I'm only about an hour away. Although to be honest this will be the first time ever learning something about it in public school. I learned a lot during my home schooling but it was directly from the village." Lime said nodding
Gohana also nodded. "I'm also a little more than an hour away, in the opposite direction. Why do you ask?"
"Well I was curious, just how accurate everything here is. I've never really been to any place that we talk about, or personally experienced it." She said annoyed with a sigh. "Would have been nice to be at the Cell Games though."
'Oh right, she doesn't believe her dad, and she doesn't know how right she is.' Gohana thought to herself. She had given the thought of telling them after Goten innocently asked why she hadn't. Could she trust them?
For the first time in school Gohana reached into her book bag for her book, to actually follow along with. Grabbing it and opening it to page seventy six. And right there she saw a picture of her Grandpa in his old armor. She hadn't seen him in that get up in years. The last time she recalled him being in it was at a party for the Kingdom a few years back. He got a little bit drunk and started embarrassing Chichi a little. But she found it a little bit funny. Still the kingdom was still mostly fully self sufficient, with the exception of them allowing Capsule Corp to help. And that was only because her Grandpa as well as herself had vouched for her. Plus them knowing the basics of the Z fighter's abilities they understood the secrecy as well. So this would be a very interesting experience for her.
"Alright, now who would like to start reading the chapter, hmm?" the teacher asked for volunteers.
"Hey why don't you Gohana! You are near there as well?" Erasa teased.
"Hey, Lime is as well!" Gohana said a little too loud.
"Oh a volunteer I see, Miss Son. Next time I would suggest not speaking out of turn too loudly. Now would you please start reading?" She said as she just smiled at her. She loved making students read whenever they spoke up that wasn't to do with the lesson.
Gohana just blushed a little bit having been caught but none the less bowed her head.
"Yes Ma'am!"
"The Fire Mountain Kingdom, for years not much was known about this once sacred landscape. It was always shrouded in mystery and the local farmers would pay tribute to the God's of the Mountains for a plentiful harvest." Gohana kept reading a little bit. The teacher was making an example of her talking up by reading a good chunk. Still it was a little interesting for Gohana, at least for a little while.
"One of the most infamous rulers of this once proud Kingdom is the recent and still current, Ox king." Gohana nearly had to stare at the page in disbelieve, and she even had to go back and reread that sentence to make sure she had read it correctly.
"Miss Son, please keep reading." The teacher causally said.
"Yes, sorry! Um, The Ox king was born into royalty but showed his interest in martial arts. As a result after training with the legendary Martial Arts Master, the turtle Hermit Master Roshi, he returned and plunged the Kingdom into a state of fear…" Gohana froze for a second but kept reading. Sure her Grandpa could be scary to those who only knew his name. "The Ox King turned the once sacred area into his own personal Kingdom. Sprouting flames from below he…" Gohana just stopped right there. She had heard about this from not only her mother and Grandpa, but her father told her this story as well! It was right before they had gotten married. But he didn't summon it. In fact the only reason he had a bad reputation in the first place all those years ago was trying to fix the fire and bring peace back to his kingdom.
"He surrounded the country side in an unquenchable flame so that no one could enter or leave. To this day, the fires still rage. Even just the name of Ox King spreads terror into most people's eyes if they recognize the name." Gohana just stopped her reading and quickly started scanning the rest of the page, and even turned to the next page and quickly scan read the contents.
"Miss Son, I did not ask you to stop, and I will not ask you again. Please keep reading."
Looking around, she noticed no one else really thought much about this, except Lime who also had a slight look of shock.
Gohana kept scanning the page and couldn't believe what lies were in here. It wasn't anyone fault that not many people even bothered to show up to the Kingdom. The only people who did were the surrounding villages who lived more natural lives versus the more modernized lives of the city.
"What the heck is this!?" Gohana nearly shouted out, startling everyone. Everyone was now staring at her.
"Miss Son, I don't know what you are talking about but you are causing a disturbance. If you do not keep your thoughts to yourself for the time being and please just read what the book says, we are not about to debate-"
"The book is wrong, so no I won't! How can these books be so wrong?" Gohana nearly shouted. She couldn't handle both her father and grandpa being seen as liar and an unkind dictator as the book was having him shown as.
"It is not our fault the Ox King cut all ties with the outside world years ago. He has even killed numerous people as well. Nobody in their right mind dares to even go near that place anymore after what that beast has done to the land."
Gohana looked like she was about to burst. Lime quickly noticed this and stood up as well.
"Mrs. Winters, I agree with Gohana. This book is totally wrong! I read ahead, and everything is inaccurate." Lime tried to help
"I don't know what makes you think our books our wrong, they are always being updated every year as needed. " Mrs. Winters countered to Lime. "Both of you are going to be in trouble if you don't keep quiet for now. I will be happy to listen to you why you feel it's wrong after class. Now Miss Son, please keep reading." She said looked back down at the book.
"I will not!" Gohana argued back looking very angry as she trembled a bit. She wasn't in danger of losing control of her ki as she was keeping that down but her anger was getting to her a bit.
"I have had enough out of you Miss Son. I wrote my thesis on this Kingdom just a few years ago. What makes you think our books are wrong? The Ox King has always been a heartless tyrant, so what makes you think you know better than some of the best scholars in the world?"
Gohana threw her book down against down against the desk hard causing anyone who had lost interest to stare right back at her as it made a very loud sound as it hit the desk.
"BECAUSE I'M FROM THERE AND THAT'S MY GRANDFATHER THAT'S WHY!" Gohana yelled as she threw her book down on the desk.
Everyone was now wide eyed staring at her, including the teacher. Sitting back down Gohana just crossed her arms and looked very annoyed now. She slowly realized the silence and everyone was staring at her, even Jake looked a little shocked. That was a first for Gohana.
'Fuck did I really just blurt that out?' Gohana thought to herself and she just got more annoyed now.
Setting her book down, Mrs. Winters readjusted her glasses and looked up to Gohana.
"Then in that case I apologize for pushing you Miss Son. We are however going to continue with this lesson. But if you want you can leave class for today..."
Gohana could tell her teacher was honestly apologetic. And having the option of leaving and not having to hear lies about her grandfather sounded like a good idea. Grabbing her bag, Gohana stood up and started walking towards the door. She was already hearing muttering with the students.
'Great, just what I need. More rumors.' She thought as she opened the door and stopped.
"Look, little Miss Princess has some family issues." Jake muttered to one of his buddies quietly.
Turning around Gohana went straight towards Jake and grabbed him by his shirt and pulled him out of his chair and easily held him up to her face.
"Why don't you man up and try insulting me to my face for once!" she said and threw him back onto his chair as she actually left the room this time.
Everyone else in the room was just staring, not sure what to think. Some of the girls already started muttering to their group about her being a princess. Some of the guys thought it funny she threw Jake on his ass, again. Lime just looked a little worried but relieved that Gohana didn't really cause a bigger scene than she already had. As kind as she was, her feelings of being hyper protective towards her family sometimes did get the better of her. She was just glad Gohana didn't do anything she would regret later, or at least too much.
"Lime, is Gohana going to be alright?" Videl asked a little worried now.
"She will be, yeah. She just needs to calm down, and she doesn't like doing that around people too much."
"Is she, really a princess?" Erasa said not too sure how to feel. She had an odd mix of excitement and also surprise. Not every day you find out your new friend is also a princess after all.
"Look, I'll explain after class. Well I guess Gohana can if she wants, assuming she's still at school."
The three of them just nodded in understanding and waited for class to resume.
Gohana made her way out to the front of the school. She was happy that she was able to get away from that. Of course she knew that her mom would be aware of this but that didn't stop her from leaving. It was worth it, getting out of class for that moment. She felt she didn't need to worry about losing control over her ki so she didn't have to worry about that so that helped.
Reaching a large tree, Gohana put her backpack at the base and glanced quickly around. Not seeing anyone she easily hopped onto a tall branch and easily pulled herself up. Sitting on the branch, she took a deep breath and calmed down a little bit. Being in nature always helped her calm down, especially high trees and lakes. Leaning back and now laying down on the branch, Gohana rest her hands behind her head and just closed her eyes, trying to relax.
'Maybe I should ask Piccolo to help me with meditating more. Might even help with work and training.' Gohana thought.
Taking a few deep breaths, Gohana just imagined floating in the sky. Not something too difficult since she actually could do that, but she just needed an easy way to escape without leaving school. And she and Krillin still did mental training together anyway to this day so why not just try it with relaxing. Gohana's breath started to slow down a little bit as she got more relaxed and she could feel her muscles relax a bit. She was slowly calming down but she soon just enjoyed being so relaxed. She could hear the birds chirping all around her and it really helped her.
After a little while, Gohana was taken a bit out of her own little world as the school bell suddenly rang. It didn't help that her heightened hearing, on top of her meditation increasing her senses a bit momentarily. Sitting up and stretching her arms overhead, Gohana then easily hoped off the branch and landed on the grass below. Grabbing her bag, Gohana took a deep breath and headed back towards the front doors.
'Great, this will really suck.' Gohana thought to herself.
Opening the doors, Gohana headed off towards her next class. She knew word traveled fast, and was really hoping that her little outburst didn't spread. But as she was walking she kept noticing girls whispering to each other as they stared at her. And thanks to her super sensitive hearing she was able to make out words such as 'ox kings granddaughter' and 'princess'.
Gohana couldn't really help but groan at her own outburst from earlier. It was her own fault for it after all, but still. She really needed to know how to get a better hold of her emotions when it came to those she loved. Even though it had saved them more than it ever got in her way, it was still something that she needed to get a hold of especially if she was now around normal people now.
It didn't take her long to get close to her class, and she stood a bit away from the door, not really wanting to go in. Still she had to in the end. It wasn't that she wanted to run away from it, but she could easily hear everyone from her sharper hearing. Taking a deep breath, she took a few steps to the door but it opened right as she reached out to open it and Jake and one of his buddies now blocked the door.
"Oh, looky what we have here? Little miss princess." Jake taunted her, looking a little surprised to suddenly run into her.
"Leave me alone Jake. " Gohana snapped back almost instantly.
"Oh, what's wrong your highness? Not used to getting your way?" The other guy continued the taunting.
Gohana just glared at them both, and she was getting angry yet again, although it was now completely directed towards them and not at herself anymore.
"Actually I'm not used to not being allowed to beat those that piss me off!" Gohana tried to threaten them, which technically wasn't false as the only people to piss her off minus the person in front of her was anyone that threatened the Earth and her family. Well and Vegita from time to time.
Jake wasn't really fazed much but his buddy visibly backed off a little bit which caused Gohana to smirk slightly.
"Oh, what's wrong? Scared of a girl half your size?" she put on the same snarky smirk she did whenever she was toying with Vegita during their spars.
"Will you jerks leave her alone?" Videl screamed at them from behind and pulled them both back a bit to let Gohana come in.
Gohana started walking but Jake put his arm in her way and just glared at her.
"Only a matter of time, I will get back at you. Sooner than you think." He gave her an evil smirk.
Gohana tensed her right hand hard, causing her forearm muscles to tense and expand a little bit. But she just walked past him and walked with Videl to their desks. Setting her bag down Gohana sat down and just took a deep breath to calm down. Looking to her right she saw her friends all staring at her, but none of them really talking. She couldn't really tell exactly what to say from them, but she did notice Lime was more so wondering if she'd be alright. Giving a very subtle nod to Lime, she looked over at Videl, Sharpner, and Erasa. And all three kept staring right back.
"Ok, what is it? Just please keep it down." Gohana finally said to break the tension in the space around them.
"Are you really related to the Ox King?" Sharpner asked which he got a nod back from Gohana.
"Yeah, he really is my grandfather. But he isn't anything like that book was making him seem to be. He never really does those things either."
"What things?" Videl asked confused.
Gohana looked confused as well as she wasn't sure why Videl wouldn't know. Surely she paid attention to the class.
"After you left, the teacher honestly gave up trying to teach so we didn't even do anything for rest of the class but turn it into a free class." Videl explained.
"Oh, never mind then." Gohana said and just looked forward.
"Hey, can I ask something? About your grandfather I mean?" Videl ventured and asked.
Gohana looked back at her and wasn't really too sure what to say but she didn't think she would ask anything wrong so she nodded.
"Did your grandfather really train with the turtle hermit Master Roshi?" she asked and even Sharpner seemed suddenly interested.
Gohana didn't even expect that to be the question and she was really shocked. Still, Master Roshi was a legendary martial artist, and world renowned. So it wasn't too much to think that Videl and Sharpner would have heard of him. Should she tell them though? What harm would that cause? And even then she had thought she could let them into her secret real life like she did Lime eventually.
"Um, actually both my grandfathers."
Videl's eyes went wide upon hearing that and she was just staring in disbelief. She had always heard of him, but to actually know someone who knows someone that was trained by him. It was said he only had five students. So basically almost no one knew anything about his training. They could only guess. Even Sharpner was shocked as well, although he seemed now more determined than anything else. But determined for what Gohana had no idea.
"Master Roshi, he is that master who had super human strength and speed right? I seem to remember that name from a while back. But from what I remember, people though he wasn't human. He has some famous wave technique. What was it, kamame…gah what was it?" Erasa half asked which Gohana just nodded.
"The Kamehameha wave, or something like that from what I remember. But that's just a myth." Sharpner corrected her, which surprised Gohana that they even knew of the Kamehameha wave.
"Were…you?" Videl suddenly asked.
"Huh, was I what?"
"Trained by him?" Videl clarified.
"Huh, oh no I've never trained with him. But I did train with both my dad and godfather, both were trained by him as well." Gohana said.
"Oh, so you don't know what his secret is?" Sharpner said sounding a little defeated.
"Um, well honestly since I don't even know what his training actually is, I wouldn't be able to say anything about it. I've never really even asked. Sorry." Gohana just rubbed the back of her neck a little.
"How could you never ask?" Videl asked shocked.
Gohana just looked the other way at this point. It was one thing to say that she knew people that were trained by him, but she couldn't tell them yet that she was in fact stronger. Especially since Videl doesn't believe her dad so she must assume Master Roshi is the strongest in the world. Even though that title belongs to her. And she couldn't think of anything else besides what she already had said.
"To be honest I already had a few teachers, and two were trained by him. So it never occurred to me to be honest. Um, sorry can we change the subject?" Gohana asked hoping she could get out of this topic so she wouldn't have to try to lie anymore. She not only hated it, but she wasn't that good a liar and she knew it. Luckily so far she had perfect excuses that were true but didn't answer the question per say.
"Sure thing hun." Erasa said with a smile.
With that the bell for class finally rang and Gohana was really glad that she was now off the hook. Still it didn't really help everyone kept whispering about her. Even with the teacher talking and trying to teach the class they were all too busy talking about the new biggest gossip at school, Gohana. And unknown to everyone, Gohana can clearly hear everyone.
Gohana just sat for most of the class just annoyed, trying to tune out everyone from her hearing. Of course it was a lot of the girls talking about her than anything else. They were mostly debating if it was true she was a princess. Gohana just tried to focus instead on the topic at hand, even though of course it was something that she learned years ago, when she was 10. Still it was a little bit better than having to listen to everyone else though. So she went with that.
The lunch bell soon came after the following class, and Gohana was very happy to finally have a chance to get away from everyone that she didn't want to deal with. And she was getting hungry as well so it was good timing at this point. Stuffing her tings into her bag, she quickly got up and waited for the others to get ready for lunch as well.
"You're always so quick when it comes to food, you know that right Gohana?" Lime said with a teasing voice, which Gohana couldn't help but softly chuckle at.
Arriving at the main lunch hall, the five of them sat down but they all stopped and looked at Gohana. Reaching into her bag, Gohana grabbed her capsule and hit the button and let her food appear on the table they were at. Once Gohana's food as covering the table, the rest of the group got their food out and set it where there was space for theirs. Videl, Erasa and Sharpner had learned very quickly it was best to just see what Gohana had to work with and put their food out after from having some food fall on the ground a few times on Gohana's first week.
"Itadakimasu!" Gohana said with her hands together and then grabbed the first bowl of food that was near her and started shoveling the food into her mouth.
"You know it's so weird seeing you be able to eat so much so often! This could easily feed me and Sharpner for an entire day, and you eat this three times a day?" Videl said still a little creeped out but didn't really think much of it.
"Oh please this is nothing." Lime said and took a bit of her sandwich and took a few seconds to finish the bite. "You should see her and with Raina and Goten after a training day."
Gohana just blushed a little bit and just kept eating.
"Hey Gohana, can I borrow your book for next class? I don't imagine that you would even need it." Erasa asked.
Gohana reached into her bag at her feet and pulled out the book that Erasa needed and just handed it to her without really paying attention as she was more concerned with getting some more food. Erasa took and happily but immediately noticed that something was sticking out of the book. Grabbing the paper, Erasa took one look at the envelope and shrieked with glee.
"Oh my Gosh Gohana, who sent you this?" She asked holding it up to Gohana who currently had a ton of noodles hanging from her mouth as she stopped eating, letting the noodles just hang from her mouth.
Slurping up the entire mound of noodles that were currently in her mouth and quickly chewing and swallowing it, wiping her mouth a bit.
"Um, I'm not sure. Why?" Gohana asked confused.
"Wait a minute, don't tell me you haven't even opened it yet?" Erasa asked shocked, getting Lime and Videl's attention as well.
"Um, was I supposed to?" Gohana asked confused looking at the envelope. "All it has is my name so I just figured I would read whatever it is after school."
Videl just face palmed herself, and Lime was to busy trying not to choke on her food from laughter. Gohana looked back at both of them from across the table with a very confused look on her face, and looked back to Erasa who looked like someone had just told her that her outfit was horrible.
"Um, Gohana have you never gotten one of those?" Sharpner flat out asked the question on everyone's mind as even he stopped eating.
"Sure I've gotten letters from time to time from grampa, but usually he just visits or we go visit him." Gohana innocently explained.
Lime was trying hard to not burst out with laughter, but the only reason she wasn't on the floor was because she was currently hanging on the table. Sharpner just looked a bit confused but kept eating while both Videl and Erasa just stared at her. Gohana just kept looking back and forth between everyone.
"What?"
"You…should probably open this." Erasa just flatly said still looking in shock as she held out the envelope to Gohana.
Putting her food down, Gohana grabbed the envelope and opened it. Noticing it was a folded up piece of paper, she unfolded it and proceeded to read it. Lime and Erasa were nearly holding their breath as they leaned in as Gohana read it. Videl wasn't as obvious about it, but she wasn't eating either. In fact the only one eating was Sharpner, and even he was staring at Gohana as she read in silence, silence that is other than everyone else in the cafeteria.
"Um, so I guess someone wants to ask me out, but I have to meet them near the sports shed out back at lunch." Gohana calmly said after reading it.
Lime and Erasa looked super giddy about this while Videl looked a little excited a bit as well. Even Sharpner had a smile on his face. However they all just started in disbelief as Gohana just put the note down and grabbed her ramen and continued to eat as if nothing happened. The four of them just continued to stare at Gohana as still as statues.
"You can't be serious Gohana!" Lime shouted to her across the table, causing Gohana to stop eating yet again with noodles hanging from her mouth. Except now she just looked super confused and scared. After all it was very rare Lime every yelled at her.
Slurping up the noodles like before, Gohana realized she had finished all the noodles and it was just broth so quickly downed the broth. Setting the bowl down she grabbed the note again.
"Am I supposed to actually go?" she asked.
"YES!" came three loud female voices.
Everyone minus Gohana now looked at Videl with a little shock.
"What? I am a girl, I'm allowed to like stuff like that!" Videl defended herself with a slight blush on her face.
"So do you have anyone you hope it is?" Erasa said playfully elbowing Gohana's side with a smirk, causing Gohana to instantly blush which Lime instantly picked up on.
"Oh my gosh, are you kidding me! You finally have a crush on someone!" Lime asked in shock.
It didn't occur to the others that this would have been her first crush, so they looked now even more shocked. Gohana just sat there with a red tint to her face as she looked down at her food a little embarrassed as she shyly nodded.
"Holy crap who?" Lime nearly shouted. It always did throw her off when they started hanging out and training, Gohana never really did mention boys, even though she was surrounded by men three times her size and all very muscular and handsome according to Lime. Still Gohana never thought much of them other than family.
"Um, I don't actually know his name. He sits a few rows back from us in homeroom though. I…think he's kinda cute." Gohana said a little silently as she wasn't used to this type of conversations.
"Oh wait I know who you're talking about. I don't know his name either, but he's pretty cute." Lime said smiling, then smirked and looked at Gohana with a rather coy smirk as it suddenly dawned on her.
"You like him because he reminds you of Krillin." She said with a big smirk on her face.
Gohana looked instantly shocked as her face got super red and suddenly sat still, causing Lime to hold her sides as she tried not to laugh too loudly.
"Who's Krillin?" Erasa asked.
"He's a part of the family basically." Explained Lime with another slight snicker. "And the first time Gohana ever thought a guy was cute. Was actually pretty funny with his wife's reaction actually." She added remembering when Gohana started getting a little shy around Krillin, until she got over it.
Holding up the letter in her hand, Erasa brought the conversation back at hand.
"Gohana you have to go!"
"But, what if I don't like them?"
"That's not the point! Look, how about I go with you. Would that help keep you at ease?" Erasa asked.
Gohana thought about it for a moment, but just nodded shyly. Lime couldn't get a smile off her face as Gohana got up and was about put her food away. Thinking better of it, she just offered her friends to grab what they want. She wasn't too sure how long she would be gone, and she always saw them staring at her food so why not let them have some today.
With her backpack in hand, and Erasa walking right next to her, Gohana and Erasa made their way to the sports shed. There were a lot of people all over eating their lunch. Gohana's stomach started acting up a little bit since she didn't really eat much. All she had managed to eat was the massive bowl of ramen. Still that was better than nothing.
It didn't take them long to get to the back of school where all the P.E. areas were. Once she saw the shed, Gohana stopped. She stared at it not really too sure what she should do. This was all new to her after all.
"Let's go you! What if it is him?" Erasa asked, still not fully sure who she was talking about earlier. But Lime sure did from the looks of things earlier.
"Um, I'm not sure." She said with a slight blush, but took a deep breath none the less.
"Come on you." Erasa grabbed Gohana's hand and led her rest of the way.
Getting near the shed, they looked around but they didn't really see anyone around. For a moment Gohana actually looked relieved as she didn't really want to deal with this right now. She wanted to get back to her lunch. Seeing no one around, she was about to head on back when Erasa grabbed her hand again.
"Oh, there he is!" she said pulling Gohana again seeing someone wave them over.
"Wait Erasa, I changed my mind! I'd rather go back." Gohana tried to protest.
Erasa pulled Gohana around the corner but then suddenly stopped in her tracks. Gohana just looked up and realized what they had just gotten into.
"Didn't I tell you Gohana, I'll get you soon enough." Jake said with a smirk as his small gang was with him.
Erasa tried to turn around and head back but now there were also two guys in their way. They were now surrounded and Erasa was now tightly holding onto Gohana, but now scared. Gohana meanwhile just glared at Jake.
"I can't believe you would stoop this low Jake." Gohana said quickly sensing around her.
'So Jake plus five more. Crap, and Erasa is here as well.' Gohana glanced around her.
"Hey, don't worry. There's no one to come save you. Not that anyone else would bother question me. At least not until you showed up." Jake said walking towards Gohana looking very angry.
Erasa started walking backwards but kept a death grip on Gohana, causing Gohana to slowly walk backwards with her.
'Shit. I can easily handle them all, but that would most likely give me away. Especially keeping Erasa safe.'
"Oh look, when she's outnumbered she gets scared." One of them tried taunting her and caused the others to laugh thinking her stepping backwards was from fear.
"Oh, and we even have an extra with us. Maybe we could have a little fun with you after Erasa."
Erasa just held on even tighter to Gohana and kept walking backwards slowly hoping to still get away somehow. Feeling the wall now against her back, she was looking even more terrified at the situation. Jake didn't miss this at all, but what was throwing him off was the look on Gohana's face. For some reason, even though they were surrounding them, six to two, and only one of said two can fight, Gohana had a look on her face like she was in complete control of the situation.
"I'll punch that look off your face if you don't change it Gohana." Jake threatened. '
Rummaging through a bush, one of Jakes gang brought out some bats and a pipe, and Jake just kept glaring at Gohana. Erasa saw the weapons and her tight hold on Gohana nearly doubled.
"We brought these just for you. We're gonna make sure you never defy us again." One of them glared at her as he passed them out.
"Jake, I'm only going to say this once. Either you and your friends leave or I'll really get angry." Gohana threatened them all in a rather calm but dominant tone.
Surprisingly half of them now took a small step back. They couldn't understand why but even being near Gohana was now causing them to feel very nervous. This didn't go unnoticed by Jake either.
"Hey, what the hell is wrong with you guys?"
"I don't know man. She…eyes. They look like they will kill me if she just looks at me wrong." One of them said shaking a bit.
"Oh please, she's a girl, and half your size. Now get your head outta your ass before I beat you up myself!" he threatened.
Gohana could tell that there was no way out of this. Reaching up with her hand, she softly grabbed Erasa's hand and was able to get her off her arm. Turning around, she looked at Erasa and could tell how scared she was. Given the rumors that floated around school about the things Jake had done in the past, to both guys and girls, she didn't blame her either.
"Erasa, don't worry." Gohana softly said to calm her.
Erasa just stared at them and then at Gohana. She couldn't hide her fear right now.
"But, there's…"
'Well they would have found out at some point, right?'
Placing her hands on Erasa's shoulders, she just smiled.
"Just trust me ok?" with a calm and soft look in her eyes.
Getting a nod, Gohana turned and glared towards them as she took a few steps towards Jake. Jake continued to try to stare Gohana down, which was an interesting thing to say the least as Gohana was actually a bit taller than him. It didn't help that she seemed completely unworried that there were six fighters surrounding them, yet she just looked completely calm and as if she was in control.
"Ever since you showed up, people have been questioning my authority. It's about time I put you in your place. I run this school, and I will not have some snoot nosed little princess change that."
Throwing a punch straight at Gohana's face, Gohana just simply tilted her head and Jake's fist went just to the side of her face. Throwing his other first at her face as he twisted her torso, Gohana just ducked a little bit and easily swept her leg and caused Jake to fall straight back.
One of his buddies now decided to join in so Jake could get the advantage on her. Swinging the pipe wildly at Gohana, she just kept easily dodging every single swing. She was backing up towards another one who was ready to swing the bat right into Gohana's back. As she got close, she threw herself down and forward, landing on her hands as her entire body line was out straight as a bat came swinging where her back was a moment ago. The bat slammed its way into the guy's stomach causing him to gasp in shock.
Kicking upwards, Gohana flipped around and her foot landed on the guys face. She tried to remain careful enough to not actually hurt him. Luckily she didn't hear any crack, so his neck wasn't injured. But he did have a good look of shock as he had blood fly out of his mouth as he stumbled back holding his mouth.
Now back on her feet as if nothing happened, Gohana just glared at Jake with a look that even Erasa feared a little bit. Now very angry and his pride even more hurt than before, Jake just charged back at Gohana and started firing of much faster punches at her now. Gohana just stood there and with one hand easily blocked each and every strike with her palm. Finally with a quick swipe from the same hand, Gohana flung Jake off his bearing and he spun and yet again fell on the ground before quickly getting back up.
Rushing her yet again, two others also rushed Gohana from behind. Looking back at them, Gohana just grabbed Jakes wrist without looking and flung him towards his goons. They both dropped their pipes and caught Jake, but the three of them still fell onto the ground. Gohana just casually walked towards the other two and stopped in front of them and looked between the two of them.
"What the fuck is she man?"
"I don't know, but we can't run. There's six of us and only one of her."
"You two should really learn when you're out classed." Gohana said with a smirk that would make Vegita proud.
Both charged her as they swung their weapons at her together. They were careful enough to not try to hit one another, and they each swung after the other so they wouldn't hurt them. But what was bothering them now was that Gohana wasn't dodging them, she was blocking them with her palms.
Gohana quickly jumped over both of them as third tried swinging the pipe into her back yet again. With both pipes in hand as she flipped over them, she easily yanked them both to the ground and held a pipe in each hand. Dropping them she just glared at them and just walked towards them yet again. With a hard swing one of them tried to hit her but Gohana just easily grabbed it and with him only a few inches from her body, Gohana carefully punched his gut. The resulting blow flew him back as he hit the ground, but he didn't stop as he kept skidding against the ground almost fifty yards.
'One down.'
Jake just yelled in rage as he was not blinded by rage. He would not allow someone else to beat him, and certainly not Gohana. Gohana just kept dodging every punch and kick Jake threw at her until finally she had enough of him. Grabbing his left wrist and quickly turning him around as she held onto his wrist. Pushing him down to his knees, she kept his arm in a lock and try as he might Jake couldn't even budge.
There was a sudden shriek to Gohana's side and she glanced over and saw that two more had arrived and had rushed towards Erasa. Of course she was caught and they quickly got her in an arm lock as she lightly screamed in slight pain.
'Shit.'
"Let Jake go, or do you want your friend here to suffer as well." They threatened thinking they finally had a one up on Gohana.
"That's right, your first mistake was to bring that bitch with you. That's your weakness. You shouldn't bring someone who can't protect themselves. That's what makes people like you soft." Jake taunted her even though she still held him in an arm lock.
Gohana just looked down at Jake and then the two that had Erasa, she glared back.
"I'm giving you one last chance to go away!" Gohana said slightly pulling Jakes arm up a bit causing him to wince in pain a bit.
Seeing this, Erasa was filled with fear because she knew there was nothing Gohana could even do from that far away. They were at least fifty meters away, and there were two guys looking like they were ready to hit her. They didn't even seem to care. Not to mention she was to busy holding her arm in pain as she had water escaping her eyes, both in fear and in pain.
"Beat her!"
Erasa's eyes widened with fear as she realized what was about to happen. She saw the guy in front of her pull his hand back and Erasa just stood there as she couldn't do anything. But before she could even close her eyes there as a loud scream.
With a crack in the air, Gohana suddenly appeared in front of Erasa, causing the guy ready to punch Erasa to instead punch her right below her collar bone. There was a loud cracking noise as the guy was now screaming and holding onto his fist. Gohana just stood there and then turned around slowly and glared at the guy holding Erasa.
Causally reaching up to him, she grabbed onto the hand holding onto Erasa's wrist and softly squeezes his hand causing there to be a loud cracking noise as well.
Erasa was instantly released and she fell to her knees, and just looked up at Gohana. The look in her eyes was actually scary to her, and she couldn't even remember ever being so intimidated by someone just from their eyes. And they were not even glaring at her, she was just looking at them.
She looked up and saw the other guy swing the bat right at Gohana but she didn't even bother to avoid it. Erasa quickly tried to warn Gohana but she couldn't really form words. She was about to see her friend's head get split open. The hit her right in the head and shattered into a bunch of pieces of wood, and Gohana didn't even flinch. Erasa just covered her eyes from the fragments of wood that flew at her. And then back up at Gohana in shock.
Dropping the other guy Gohana thrust her palm right at the guy but stopped just shy of his chest. The sudden change in pressure though caused a slight sonic boom and the pressure wave flung him back into a tree.
'No way, what is Gohana? How can she do all this?' Erasa thought as she just stared at Gohana in shock.
'Three down, and one ran away.'
Most of the guys at this point were now standing in complete shock, with Jake on the floor trying to stand with his now broken shoulder and arm. Gohana just stood right in front of Erasa, not even moving from her this time. She wasn't ready to continue this fight but she was ready to keep her friend safe.
Two of them found enough courage to start rushing Gohana. Gohana walked towards them so they wouldn't get the fight too close to Erasa. Not that it really mattered in the end but still she wanted Erasa to feel at least some form of safety.
One of them immediately swung a pipe at Gohana's arm and she just stood there as the pipe smashed into her, followed by a loud reverberating clang. He pulled the pipe back and saw that it was now twisted, and she was just standing there as if nothing happened. The other guy saw this and just froze in fear. Bringing her elbow behind her, Gohana pushed her elbow into the guy's stomach behind her. He doubled over and walked backwards while trying to catch his breath. He couldn't breathe at all and fell to the ground panting for air like a fish out of water.
There was just now just three more standing there looking in fear at Gohana. The rest were on the ground in pain, plus the one that Gohana had pushed away and did the smart thing in running the other direction. One of the remaining quickly ran the other was screaming as the other two just ran at Gohana.
"Don't you guys get that you don't have a shot in hell?" Gohana asked them as she just started avoiding the two of them as they both widely threw punches. Gohana really didn't even move her feet, she was just able to dodge her head and weave her body back and forth. They both suddenly then hit air as Gohana just vanished before their eyes. Looking around, the four remaining in the area all kept looking around for her to no avail.
"Where are you, bitch." One of them yelled right before he suddenly fell to the floor causing the other to look around frantically in even more fear. He didn't have to look long as he suddenly flew to the ground as well.
Reappearing over them, Gohana looked at them and sighed with relief that their hearts were beating just fine. She looked over to Erasa and her glare eased and she walked over to her and held her hand out for her.
"Come on Erasa, let's go." Gohana causally said as Erasa took her hand as she was helped up.
Erasa was still shaking from what had just happened and Gohana could tell she was starting to calm down a little bit now. Looked around her, she saw everyone on the floor in pain, or passed out.
"We….should call an ambulance." Erasa managed to get out softly, which Gohana nodded in agreement. At this point they were no longer a threat to Erasa and she was no longer violent, but it looked like she had already reverted back to her sweet, naïve self.
"Where do you think you going?"
Standing up and holding onto his broken shoulder, Jake just looked at Gohana and looked scared. Gohana noticed this and took a single step and then vanished, only to reappear right in front of him. From the sudden disappearance and reappearance of Gohana, Jake fell flat on his ass and gasped as the fall caused his arm to damage his already highly damaged shoulder as his arm took a large chunk of the impact.
"I am only going to say this once to you Jake, and you better listen." She said grabbing him by his neck and holding him up so she was glaring right into his eyes.
"Don't you ever threaten my friends again?" She said in as threatening a voice as she could.
'No way, she's…she's just like…'
With a sudden whistle erupting in the air, Gohana turned and saw the principal and a few other staff members rushing towards them. Looking back at Jake, she just dropped him.
"What the hell is going on here?" The principal demanded as he looked around and saw Gohana standing over Jake and four others all on the ground, two of them knocked out. He then looked up at Gohana and had an angry look on his face.
Gohana and Erasa just sat in the chairs in front of the large oak desk. Across from them sat the principal who had his elbows on top as he rubbed his eyes.
"I have no clue what to say to you two. Picking a fight in the middle of the day."
"They started it!" Gohana shot back pouting.
"It matters not who started it Miss. Son, four students are now in the hospital. And two are so terrified for some reason they refuse to even say what happened. All we know is that you were standing over all of them in the end, even if they were the one who started it." He looked over to Erasa.
"As for you, I am not even sure how you fit into all of this. Both of your parents are now on their way, and should be here soon. I am glad you're both safe so for now stay here and relax. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be right back once your parents get here. We will figure out everything once they are here." Getting up, he casually walked across the room and left the two of them alone.
Gohana just sat there annoyed. She didn't even understand why she was in trouble but she didn't expect to even get an answer as to why. They were both attacked, and she made sure that they were safe. She just sat at the desk waiting when she then looked over to Erasa. It was really the first time she really paid attention to her minus saving her, but she had to say something.
"Umm…" Gohana didn't even know how to start. Most people were always afraid of her the moment they realized what she could do. The eight guys all seemed like they were terrified as well. She was now worried that Erasa would be scared of her too.
"How did you do that?" Erasa asked with a look almost like when a child saw something that amazed them.
"Huh, you mean…you're not scared?"
"What, scared? Why would I be?" Erasa asked surprised.
"Um, well most people…well…their scared of people like me." Gohana sighed.
"You mean there are others like you?"
"Look, whatever I tell you, can you please leave it between just us?" Gohana asked.
"Well I'm sure the others would like to know, especially Videl. But I promise, I won't tell her. Or Sharpner or Lime either."
"Well it's redundant to say, I'm not normal." Gohana started which Erasa just nodded. Gohana was then stuck how to even continue.
She quickly though back to how she explained to Lime once she finally did, but Lime already knew about their abilities and such. She even later found out her mom had told her a few smaller things so Lime already knew what to ask. But Erasa was now finding this all out on the fly.
"Honestly I am not really sure how to explain all this. I mean, you saw a bit of what I can do."
"You mean you can do more than that?" which Gohana just nodded.
Gohana just tried thinking for a bit but still couldn't really think of what to say.
"So can I ask something?" Erasa asked, hoping it would get things going.
Gohana nodded a bit as she was glad she'll have something to answer, instead of trying to figure out what to say without really anything to go from.
"Was Videl right? Her dad not beating Cell I mean?" Erasa asked.
"Well, you see…"
The door instantly opened and a pair quickly rushed over to Erasa, cutting off Gohana from answering.
"Sweetie! Oh my god are you alright?" the lady held onto her.
"Yeah I'm fine Mom. My friend Gohana here saved us both." She said and glanced over to Gohana.
"Oh so you're Erasa's new friend. I can't believe you saved our little girl!" she praised her as she held onto Gohana's hands.
"Honestly it was nothing. She's my friend." Gohana tried to play it down.
Glancing over at Erasa, she was curious what she was going to say. But Erasa just slightly nodded to her. And it didn't take long for a large man to enter the room as well. Gohana didn't recognize him from school but she could have sworn he looked familiar. And before long she could even hear her mom talking with the Principal.
'Dende how is this going to end?' she thought to no one.
Entering the room, Chichi went right on over to Gohana and placed her hand on her shoulder.
"Are you alright Gohana?"
Gohana just nodded not really sure why she had to be asked something like that. She figured it was just for show, as she still didn't know how to interact with adults outside her family. Either way she just sat there as the principal rounded his desk and sat down. She could easily tell he was stressed and didn't know what to do with how he was moving. Glancing over to the man that had walked in earlier, she still couldn't shake that he looked familiar for some reason.
The silence of the room was deafening and it was starting to get to Gohana. Still she didn't know what to say. She was in trouble already, so she just dealt with it for the moment to not make anything worse.
"We have four students now in the hospital. Two of them are highly injured, but they will live. Two more are fine but just a bruised ego. Not to mention four more students that look like they are now traumatized and they won't say what."
Gohana couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief that everyone would be alright.
"But that still doesn't change the fact that you Miss. Son are the cause of all of them being hurt." He looked at Gohana.
Gohana just didn't really say anything. She sat in the chair and pouted, she had already explained multiple times that they ganged up on her and Erasa just happened to be caught in the middle and she was mainly protecting her.
"So you're the one who caused my son to be in the hospital with a broken arm and shoulder." The man said in a really angry voice.
Gohana instantly placed why the man looked so familiar all of a sudden, he was Jake's father.
"The other parents of the kids are demanding that you, Mrs. Son, pay for the hospital bills as your daughter is the one that put them in there in the first place." The principal regretfully informed her.
"Excuse me!" Chichi nearly scream in anger.
"Please look at it from their point of view, their kids are in the hospital highly injured and your daughter put them in that state in the first place." He tried reasoning with her, feeling it unfair himself.
"And may I ask why my daughter felt the need to defend herself?" Chichi snapped back.
"Gohana and I were responding to…well a love confession note. I talked her into meeting said person and Jake ambushed us." Erasa spoke up.
"Well I'm sorry but none of the other student involved are backing that up. In fact all eight of them say you came up and started attacking them." The principal informed them. "That is why we have to figure this out now because we have a massive issue over this."
"What is there to discus, she put my son in the hospital, and as far as I'm concerned she should be the one who pays." Jakes father spoke up.
"Gee now I see where Jake gets his attitude from." Gohana mumbled to herself a little too loudly, enough so that everyone else heard.
"Be that as it may, the parents are outraged and the school is getting a lot of negative press as well. Mrs. Son, I again have to ask if you will be paying for the students medical bills?" he blatantly asked just to get it over with a rather unwilling tone as he didn't want to ask.
"I will do no such thing." Chichi calmly said with her arms folded.
"What, why not?" he asked a little taken back by her answer.
"Well for starters, they attacked first from what even you yourself told me over the phone. And the way I see it, you're lucky I don't make this worse on you by going to the press and telling them what you're even considering I do. Wouldn't be very good press to hear that the school is trying to make a girl that was defending herself against eight boys to pay for their medical bills. To which I might add, all of them were bigger than my daughter."
The principal just looked a little worried now, and just sat there sweating bullets as Chichi continued berating him.
"And need I remind you, that you are the one that asked me to have Gohana go here because of her test scores. And I happily allowed it because it can help my daughter get into a better college, even though she's probably smarter than all her teachers combined!"
'I'm on your side lady!' he thought while just sitting there too scared of her to say anything back.
Erasa and her family just looked a little shocked at Chichi, having never meet her before, they were not used to her intensity. Even Jake's father was a little shocked and taken back.
"Oh, I uh…" The principal stalled.
"Let me guess, you're wondering what to tell the other parents, minus the one sitting in the room?" Chichi ventured a guess, to which he just nodded.
"You can tell them that they can deal with their own misbehaved kids." Erasa's father finally spoke up. Chichi just smiled and nodded in agreement.
The principal just looked between both small groups and finally with a sigh, he ribbed his temples.
"Well to be honest I can't say I wasn't prepared for this outcome." Removing his glasses, he ribbed the bridge of his nose and placed his glasses back on. "I do have to respect the parents when it comes to these types of things. So you can imagine twelve parents getting on my case. Be that as it may, I will tell them all they will have to figure it out on their own."
"The fuck type of bull shit is that!" Jake's father shouted upon hearing this.
"Now now, it is your sons fault for even attacking someone!" the principal tried to calm him down, obviously a little intimidated by the man nearly three times his size.
"My son has a massive injury to his arm, and he'll be lucky to have full use of it again. And you expect me to just sit here and not expect anything to be done about it!" he shouted.
The principal just sat in his chair like a statue. He really wasn't too sure what to say, or keen on pissing him off. But he had to say something.
"Well, your son did attack them and all the rumors that go around and such. There is a lot against him that, "
"Rumors are just that! My son has never been convicted of anything, and shall not be treated as if he has!"
Gohana just looked a little shocked now. True she had heard some pretty nasty stuff about Jake since starting here, but to have not heard about anything that would make her understand what he was talking about. Convictions? Looking over to Erasa, she mouthed the word 'later' to her and Gohana just stared back at him again.
"My son is my star pupil at my martial arts school, he was supposed to inherit it in a few years after graduation. Now he will be lucky to even be able to block properly without extreme pain. This is what he has been planning for and training for his whole life. And now, this girl," pointing to Gohana, "may just as well throw it out the window. All to save her pathetic friend!"
Gohana tensed at this and he visibly looked angry again.
'The fuck is wrong with this family' She thought trembling in her seat as Chichi noticed this and tried to calm her down with a hand on her daughters shoulder, trying to press down slightly to give her the indication to calm down. She knew her protective nature always got the best of her and now wasn't the time for it.
"How dare you talk about my daughter that way!" Erasa's father yelled up to the man.
"Well, at least her father has a spine." He commented. "Either way, I am not leaving until my son's hospital expenses, which are through the roof I might add, are dealt with!" he said pointing towards Gohana and chichi.
"Mr. Sakito, it is your sons' word against these two. And your son's word really isn't that good compared to these two."
"So you're saying that my son has no say in anything?"
"What, no no. of course not! But he is known for violence, and…well with what he was…accused of, well these two are smart and star students. It just doesn't look good for "
"You expect me to believe that you will throw away my sons side of the story over those two tramps!" he barked.
"Will you fucking shut up!"Gohana snapped without realizing it.
Everyone in the room was now staring at Gohana who was looking like she wanted to hit him. Even Chichi was a little surprised as she never really saw her daughter like this. She knew about it of course, but seeing it first hand was different. She could even tell that her energy had gone up from the chill she got.
"Your son attacked me and tried to drag my friend into it, and you expect me to not hurt him? She was in an arm lock and about to be punched in the face, which would probably hospitalize her way worse than what I did to them. So don't sit there defending that idiot, especially when he's done nothing but harass me since I started here!" Gohana stood up as she vented a little bit.
"Oh, so you're the one who beat my son that day then I take it?"
"Oh yeah, I guess I did do that didn't I." Gohana toyed with him in a mocking voice.
Chichi just looked at Gohana a little worried now. She never did see her like this ever. Beyond being protective, it was almost like she was now toying with him. But this wasn't like her at all. Even when she was angry she would just say it like it was.
"How dare you insult me girl!" he barked.
"Oh please, I've fought worse creatures than you." She crossed her arms and then had a delightful idea and smiled. "Tell you what, were not paying a cent for your idiot son, But if you can land a single hit on my face, then I'll pay for it. I'd imagine that's the only thing you would respect in this world."
He just looked down at Gohana and just smirked. Cracking his knuckles he took a step towards her until the principal nearly shouted.
"Stop this right now! I will not make the situation any worse than it already is!"
"Oh don't worry sir. It's my idea after all right, and we have people to vouch for it. So what do you say hmm?" Gohana let her arms fall to the side.
"Gohana I don't think this is a really good idea, that's not fair. " Chichi stated.
"I have to agree, we already had so much anger and violence today, can't we please try to settle this peacefully?" Erasa's mom spoke up.
"Oh please mom, you know he can't even do anything anyway." Gohana stated and smirked up at Sakito. "So you in?"
Without even verbally answering he took a quick swing at Gohana. Gohana easily leaned back with more than enough space to show that she wasn't hit. Not that she really needed to move so out of the way.
"Stop this right now!" the principal shouted as everyone quickly tried to get out of the way of the two fighters. Noticing what was happening, the principal just tried to now stay out of the way as well.
Jakes father just kept throwing punches at her, and Gohana just as easily as breathing, avoided all of them. She did notice that he was much faster and refined a fighter than Jake, so she did have to give him some credit. Still she wasn't about to let him get his way. They tried dealing with it peacefully, but he wasn't listening. A small thing she always kept from the Cell games, 16's final words. Some people will not listen to reason no matter what, that they are violent and the only way to get them to understand or stop is fighting back. It was one of the biggest lessons that she learned and to this day kept. It was even the defining reason she picked her training back up the moment they realized Chichi was pregnant with Goten and Raina. There will be those that don't listen and only respond with violence, and you'll have to deal with that.
"Stay still girl!" he shouted as he started to get frustrated at her just moving around.
'I can't even touch her, and she's not even taking me seriously. She's not even using her arms to block. Who the hell is this girl?"
Having had enough, Gohana decided to give him one last demonstration at how outclassed he was so she blocked his punch with her palm and then held onto his hand. Struggling to get his hand free, he realized that he couldn't get out. Throwing a punch with his other hand, Gohana just as easily caught that one and held onto it. Even with him thrashing about to get away, Gohana's arms were not moving at all.
With a smile, Gohana let his hands go and he fell back a bit but managed to catch himself before falling.
"Looks like you're paying for your sons' hospital stuff yourself!" Gohana smiled at him innocently.
"I will be coming back next week to discuss this." He said to the principal and headed out the door.
With a sigh that everyone in the room from holding their breath, minus Chichi, they all began to relax a bit more now. With the current situation avoided, they all took their seats back again. Even Gohana walked back to her seat and took a deep breath to calm herself down. She did notice her mom staring at her a little worried and Gohana just looked back at the principal.
"So now what?" she asked.
"Oh, um. Well I guess I will be calling the other parents and informing them that they will have to take care of everything themselves." He said now mostly just staring at her.
Gohana looked over at Erasa and also noticed that her parents were staring at her as well.
"That's good to hear. Now if you'll excuse me, I would like take my daughter with me for the day." Chichi said.
"Oh yes of course, I was even going to say they may leave if any of you choose." He nodded. Taking his pen in hand, we started writing down notes, which Gohana could see were about calling the parents back later.
"Let's go Gohana. Raina and Goten are sitting outside waiting for us." Chichi said as Gohana looked at Erasa who was being held by her parents in relief.
'When she asks then.' She thought.
Gohana and Chichi got out the door and Gohana noticed that with Raina and Goten were Videl. Before they even got to them though, Goten noticed them coming towards them and he happily hoped off the bench and ran up to them.
"Gohana!" he shouted playfully. "Wait till we get home so I can show you what I caught today!" he said with such joy.
Gohana smiled and just squatted down so they were almost eyelevel.
"I can't wait to see what you got squirt!" Gohana said with a large smile on her face.
Looking up she saw Videl and headed towards them with Raina.
"Gohana, is Erasa alright? What about you?" Videl asked worried.
"Yeah, they didn't even land a finger on her. Don't worry I made sure she was safe." Gohana said smiling which got a massive sigh of relief from Videl.
"They didn't tell us anything at all! They just said Jake and his buddies got into a fight with you and Erasa, I didn't know what to think!" Videl said worried, and it was clearly written on her face.
"Hey relax Videl, I wouldn't let them hurt her."
"I'm not talking about just Erasa you dolt! What about you? I was worried about you both!" Videl nearly wanted to smack her for overlooking herself.
"Yeah, I'm fine Videl, I promise!" Gohana smiled
"Well I'm really glad that you're alright! I was barely even allowed to leave class I had to lie and force my watch to beep!"
Walking out of the office now, Erasa and her parents walked over towards Gohana. Her father softly tapped Gohana on the shoulder and Gohana turned around to face him.
"I never did thank you for being there to protect my little girl. You must be Gohana, Erasa's new friend."
"Oh, um why yes I am! Honestly, I'm pretty lucky to have met her when I came in to this school." Gohana softly bowed to him.
It was interesting for Videl watching her be so polite all of a sudden. She was usually used to seeing her look really bored, or in the case of lunch time, stuffing her face. And she knew that she lived her entire life out in the woods. Who knew she could be so polite? Maybe the rumor of her being princess were true after all.
"Mom, dad, I want to talk to Gohana for just a few moments. I'll meet you outside in the car when I'm done, ok?" She asked and Gohana tensed slightly.
Giving each other a hug, they agreed to let her do what she wanted, and both her mother and father headed on over to the front of the school. Gohana looked at Erasa and knew what she was going to ask. Or at the very least she had a very good idea. Still she did say later, as she already showed her ki. But what else could she tell her? She knew Videl desperately wanted to know the truth. The truth she knew, and was about to let Erasa know. Still for some reason she couldn't really imagine telling Videl yet. But for some reason she felt she could Erasa a bit more.
"Ahem." Chichi cleared her throat. "What have I taught you young lady?" Chichi softly asked.
"Huh, oh right! Mom, these are my friends Videl and Erasa." She gestured to each as she named them.
"It's nice to finally meet you ma'am. Gohana has met my family, so was fun talking with these two." Videl said with a smile gesturing towards Goten and Raina who were now at Chichi's side.
"Videl, I'm sorry but your name sounds so familiar for some reason? Have we met?" Chichi asked politely.
"Um, mom she's Hercules daughter." Gohana sheepishly said rubbing the back of her neck.
Chichi looked over at Gohana and for a split second it looked like she was surprised and shocked. But it soon melted into a smile and she looked back over to Videl.
"Well it's nice to actually meet you Miss. Videl."
"Please, just Videl! I hate being called anything but just my name Mrs. Son!"
"Then in that case, I'll ask of you to just call me Chichi in return." She said and then looked over to Erasa.
"I really do wish we could have all meet on better terms than what happened today. You kids have a longer weekend holiday this weekend right? You should all come and visit for the weekend?" Chichi offered.
"Oh, um well I'm sure Sharpner would love that!" Erasa said which Gohana just instantly started shaking her hands.
"Ahhh, really mom, that's alright!" Gohana started.
"Sharpner?" Chichi asked curiously.
"Yeah, he's in class right now. Lime was not able to leave class either. "
"That settles it then! Will expect you guys out there this Friday!"
"Yeah a weekend camping out actually sounds really fun!" Videl said happily.
"Anyway, we should be heading home now ourselves. Let's go kids." Chichi said looking down to Raina and Goten as Gohana just stood there with a defeated look on her face knowing exactly what was going through her mother's head.
"Hey mom, I still have to talk to Erasa about something real quick. I'll just be a few moments." Gohana said.
Chichi just smiled and nodded and took both Raina and Goten by their hands and they headed towards the front door themselves.
"Sorry Videl, but could I have a moment alone with Erasa?" Gohana asked.
"Oh, yeah no problem! I should head back to class now anyway, now that I know you two are ok. I'll call you after class is out, alright?" Videl said as Gohana and Erasa both nodded.
As Videl left, Gohana looked back towards Erasa and she suddenly looked like a kid in a candy store. It threw Gohana off a little bit why she was so excited, but she had to tell her something. Looking around though, she didn't want to explain anything more in the middle of the main office.
"Here just follow me." Gohana said as she led the way.
Leading Erasa out to the front of the school, she found a spot that was somewhat obstructed from view from the building.
"So, umm…"Gohana just shyly rubbed her arm with the other and looked at the ground.
"Gohana, you really don't have to tell me anything. You know that, right? What you already showed me earlier was enough." Erasa said.
It really did make Gohana feel more at ease hearing that. But that was a bit past that now. She saw what she can do. But now that she had to try and explain anything, she was at a loss of words yet again.
"No, it's alright. And honestly I have been debating how I should even mention all of this to you guy's. Even before you found out." Gohana started.
"Wait, so you mean you wanted to tell us?"
With a slight nod, Gohana smiled a bit.
"To be honest, I feel I can trust you three. Even on my first day, I had that mental break down. But you three were there for me even though we just meet." Looking over to Erasa, Gohana just saw her listening, and she had a smile on her face as well. And then her question to her before everything in the office started came back to her mind.
"You asked earlier, about the Cell Games…" Gohana started but then suddenly stopped.
'Should I?' she thought to herself.
"Yes?!" Erasa couldn't contain her excitement.
"No, Hercule didn't defeat Cell at all…" looking down again. 'Do I tell her now? Do I tell them at all?'
"Wow, so Videl was right!" Erasa said happily, but then it dawned on her. "Wait, then that has to mean that...that you were there! The world only saw the same broadcast!"
Gohana just nodded.
"So, you were there then. Right? There's no other way you could know this!" Erasa continued.
"Um, well…"
Erasa looked like she was holding her breath waiting for the answer to come out of her mouth.
'You were going to tell them when the time was right anyway, right?'
"I was there, yes. I was that little girl. Um, I think they dubbed me the delivery girl for some reason." She said recalling back to right around the time everything happened.
"So, those light tricks, they are real?" She asked in response.
'Wow I expected that from Sharpner and Videl if they found out, not Erasa.' Gohana thought.
Taking a quick glance around and not seeing anyone, nor sensing anyone near them, Gohana put her hand out, palm up, and soon a light blue orb appeared. Erasa nearly dropped everything just staring at it, and she wouldn't take her eyes off it.
"Long story short, it's called ki. But I would rather not explain much more about this at school." Gohana said as she cut the energy and the ball disappeared.
"Oh my gosh, so all those legends Sharpner and Videl kept telling me as kids are true! And Hercule lied. But, why would he do that?" She started thinking out loud.
"I can't say much about that as I don't know. But either way its real as you just saw."
"Wait, so you can do all these things, and you were at the Cell games. That means you…fought Cell?" Erasa continued talking out loud as she was putting the pieces together.
Gohana just nodded.
"But, you lost your father that day. Was he there too?" Erasa asked.
"He was the one in the orange gi, he fought Cell first."
"So then your father, he saved you from Cell?" she asked, looking a little tense bringing up her dad.
"Oh, you can relax Erasa. But yes. He saved not just me, but the entire planet." She said with a soft, but sad smile. Erasa could see it in her eye's the pain from losing him. But she could tell from her smile that she was happy when he was around.
"So it was your dad that beat Cell then."
"Um, well…" she gulped and couldn't really bring herself to say it.
"No…way…you?" Erasa was at a loss of words as she just pointed at Gohana shaking a bit. "You...killed…"
Gohana closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She wasn't scared of her after what she did earlier when she saved them, but the boys would now certainly think she was a monster. Her emotions had gotten the better of her yet again, and now she was dealing with the consequences.
"Um, kind of." Gohana just put on an innocent smile and rubbed the back of her head as she did when she got nervous.
Hey guys, so again I apologize for this taking so long. I hope to get the next chapter up a loooot sooner. Aka, not a couple months, but hopefully no longer than a few weeks. The computer really helps just typing the main chapter out, plus editing and making corrections and going back to modify things. So the entire process should be a ton faster even though I have less time to really do this. Usually typing just a few hundred words would take almost half an hour, or even longer if I was not constantly typing. I typed the main draft on this in about an hour or so, vs taking about 6 or 7 on my phone.
Anyway yeah I am going to continue this! Now that I'm not dealing with all the moving stuff I mentioned at the beginning intro. Anyway hope you enjoyed, and hope to see you next time!
Hope you all enjoyed this long awaited chapter! Also think that it is my longest one actually as well. Part of the reason why it took a while. I just kept typing and it turned out this long, given I knew the starting and end point of the chapter. The flesh, well you can tell it was long. Hahaha.
