so idk why but i always felt i needed to make each chapter long, and i didnt like making sbort chapters. so instead im just going to put each chapter out reguardless of how long it is. might make them come out faster as im not trying tk force it longer. either way, enjoy!
Gohana stood in the hot water of her shower, absentmindedly scrubbing her hair with her shampoo. Far longer than she needed to in fact. Her thoughts had been hevaily geared towards the last several days since everything started. And it wasnt helping just being around Videl was only making her feelings grow deeper. It was almost too difficult to even look in her direction sometimes and she woukd instantly find ways to not look her direction. Mainly she just didn't want Videl to he constantly seeing her blushing at her.
A knock on the door broke her out of her mind.
"Oh, just a second!" she shouted.
Quickly rinsing her hair out, Gohana turned the water off, wraped a towel around herself and grabbed her cloths. She could always dry off and get dressed in her room. Opening the door, she saw her mom standing there.
"Sorry mom, was I taking too long?"
"No. Well actually yes you were taking a while, but that's not what I needed. I just got a call I have to head over to West City."
"West City? Is everything alright?" Gohana asked worried.
"Yes, but I need you to help me get there. They need us there in asap."
"Huh, but wouldn't I be late for school? I have to be there in thirty minutes." Gohana asked confused her mom was implying her to be late.
"Yes, but I actually called the school and told them you will most likely be out today helping with family stuff."
Gohana just nodded before asking.
"Oh, whats happening in West City?" she asked.
"Oh, Raina and Goten actually start school today, so I just need to head over to file out some paperwork and get them settled in. And I'd like to make sure I can get home! Now hurry up and get ready. I'll be ready to go soon myself."
--
Gohana, Raina, and Goten speed through the sky keeping up just beside Kintoun, Chichi riding it while shielding her eyes a bit. She could mostly ride Kintoun, but she still couldn't handle it at top speed. Of course sometimes Kintoun refused to let Chichi ride it, though they were all greatful it would make up its mind if she could when first getting on. Still, Chichi never wanted to ride him without any of her kids with her, just in case. Though Dende and Corrin had both insisted that shouldn't be a problem.
"So mom, its Trunks' school, right?" Gohana asked having only known that was the plan, but never heard the official word.
"Yes, they both wanted to go there. And since Bulma is close just in case, it seemed perfect."
Gohana just chuckled to herself and smiled. She knew full well Goten and Raina just wanted to hang out with him more, though for slightly different reasons. The three of them seemed nearly unseperable a lot of the time. It wouldn't surprise her if Trunks and Raina started dating when they were older. She already knew for a fact Trunks had a crush on Raina. The other way around seemed likely. If only they would admit it to one another.
Gohana's face blushed when she realised the irony in her thought there, and she immediately thought of Videl, causing her to slightly slow down. Chichi noticed this and turned around, noticing Gohana's face.
"Gohana, everything alright?"
"Uh, yeah mom! I'm okay!" Gohana nervously smiled.
From her demeanor, Chichi could guess the subject in her mind, but she didn't push it right now especially with Goten and Raina there. She was more so focused on staying on Kintoun, and on where they were going as she was directing it. Looking back down at her wrist locator, she guided them slightly off to the right.
"I swear how do you all know how to get around Earth so well without one of these?" She asked in general.
"Well, honestly with as fast as we can fly, it would only be a matter of just flying in a direction until we recognize anything if we ever got lost. From there we know where we are going."
"Oh, you dont use your ki to figure out where you are? Like birds do?" Chichibl asked.
"Huh, like a bird?" Raina asked confused, Goten also confused but more so curious.
"A birdy, a birdy, Goten is a birdy!" Goten innocently laughed as he started flapping his arms like a bird.
"No, nothing like that. But you kinda also learn the general direction of things as well. So as long as we know a few rough landmarks or specific spots, we can typically figure out where we are going. Though if we have exact coordinates to be at we would probably use a locator." Gohana explained.
"Nee chan, how do birds know where they are going?" Raina asked.
"Oh, well birds can detect the magnetic field of Earth and use that similarly to a compas." Gohana explained as simply as she could.
It didn't take them too much longer to get close to West City. Gohana and her siblings could have gotten there in almost half the time usually, so Chichi knew they wouldn't have to really leave super early.
They all made sure to land somewhere they wouldn't be noticed. Gohana also had looked for a few prime places they could use so Goten and Raina could get here themselves. Even though they could just as easily land at Capsule Corp and go with Trunks, Chichi wanted to make sure they didnt need to reply on that, in case they ever missed the bus Trunks used.
Gohana generally knew where they were going. She had to pick Trunks up from school a few times when she was working at Capsule Corp in the past. So luckily it was easy for her to get to the school.
When they got there, the kids were all still hanging out outside, as it was still a little bit before classes started. Chichi just looked around and noticed how happy everyone seemed to be running around.
"Oh this is perfect! Goten, Raina, what do you both think?" Chichi asked them.
Goten and Raiana eyes widen with excitment. It was easy to tell how excited they were. Though they were both already used to doing school work at home, they had wanted to experience school like Trunks.
Looking over, Gohana noticed Trunks not too far from them.
"Oh hey mom, I'll be right back." She said and headed off to where Trunks was with the others, before stopping as she heard them.
"Come on richy rich. We know you got money, and we forgot our lunch money. And with as much as you eat, we can all get our own. Now why don't you hand it over?" one of the taller ones tried to threaten him.
Trunks just glared at him, annoyed.
"Why don't you just buzz off." he sounded very annoyed.
"Ah don't be like that? Come on, it's three of us and one of you. And you're just a pipsqueek."
The other two just laughed at that comment. It was obvious they were the main bullies of the school. Gohana just glared and was getting ready to step in, but she stopped.
"Hey, stop picking on him!"
The four of them turned around confused, while Trunks just looked more surprised as a little girl came running up to them, and fast.
"Leave him alone you jerks!" Raina nearly shouted at them.
"Oh look, he has to have a girl stand up for him." they all started laughing at him, causing Trunks to blush from embarassment.
"Yeah so what if he does. You're the cowards ganging up three against one!" Raina spat back at them.
"Raina! I can handle myself you know!" Trunks tried to act tough, even though he was right.
"Huh, yeah but..." Raina started.
"Oh, hey Trunks! Who are these guys?" Goten asked as he got close.
"Hey, whats this? You really do got friends, or backup."
"Yup! We're Trunk's friend! Are you his friends too?" Goten asked.
"Yeah, we are. Say, we were just telling Trunks here we didn't have lunch money. Think you could help us out?" one of them asked, trying to play off of Gotens innocence.
"Oh, you did? That sucks! I hate going without food." Goten simply responded.
"Goten, they're trying to bully him!" Raina told her brother.
"Huh, bully? Whats that?"
Trunks just stared at what was unfolding in front of him. Then again so were the older three. He wasnt expecting to see them of all people, and they were only making it worse. Even though he knew they were only looking out for him. He technically was the weaker of the three as much as he hated to admit it.
"Goten, Raina, I can handle this myself!"
The bell rang, catching everyones attention. The three older students waved them off, saying they would be seeing them later that day. Goten didn't know what the bell meant but saw everyone heading into the building, so he made his way back to Gohana and Chichi. Raina hung back a little it and smiled at Trunks.
"Sorry Trunks, I won't do that again, I can tell you didn't like that. Im sorry." Raina appologized, softly kicking the dirt a bit.
"Huh, oh uh...Its okay, I know you were just trying to help. What are you doing here though?"he asked.
"Goten and I start school today! So will be able to hang out every day!" Raina said lightly bouncing on her toes excitedly with a big smile.
Trunks just watched and blushed a bit and turned around embarrased.
"Oh, yeah thats great." he stuttered, though he was actualy a bit excited about that.
"Anyway maybe will see you at lunch?" Raina said and hurried over when Chichi called for them both. Trunk followed as well but waved them off and headed into the school.
"Okay you two, remember you cant fly or use ki or anything. Not around normal people. Just act like we normally do in the city or when your out with Bulma. Well, actually, act a bit better than that!" Gohana told them.
Goten and Raina both nodded, having had plenty of time acting normal around people outside their family to have learned to pull their strength back.
"Well now you two, lets get in and get you all started!" Chichi told them, getting an excited 'yay' from them both.
Goten and Raina were quickly escorted to their classroom by someone at the main office while Gohana and Chichi stayed back. They could tell the kids were super excited and didnt want them to wait around. Gohana found it super cute how excited they were, especially Raina who wouldnt stop happily bouncing on her toes. She always did enjoy her schooling work more than Goten. Still Goten wasnt too far behing her either. At least academically.

"So Miss Son, we have your contact info incase anything happens. I can imagine here their older sister would be a good contact as well?" The principal asked, nodding towards Gohana.
"Oh yeah but I would probably should be the second on the list. Just in case." Gohana said, not mentioning she went to school in Satan City, which was hours away. At least normally.
"Okay, so if you could just write down your contact info here!" She asked Gohana before looking back towards Chichi.
"Is there anyone else you would like to put as an emergency contact?" she asked.
"Yes, Gohana could you put Bulmas number as the primary alternate please?" she asked.
"Oh, yeah sure." Gohana casually responded.
The principal had a shocked look on her face, she recognized that name but wanted to be sure.
"Wait, Bulma? As in Bulma Briefs?" she asked, though she was able to control the volume of her voice.
"Yes, she's their God mother. Is there something wrong?"
"Oh, no nothing at all. It's just...well it was a shock when her son first started here is all. In fact he's kinda a model student in a way. Never picks fights, good grades. Honestly very level headed."
Gohana was a little surprised hearing that about Trunks. Then again she was more used to seeing him only around family. And she had to admit even Goten and Raina were a tad different around regular people. Still themselves just tonned down and more behaved. But she knew why they did, maybe for Trunks it was his way of blending in. Even she subtlety acted a bit different to blend in.
"Okay, well with that I believe we have everything squared away. We have here the yearly curriculum. I know they are coming in during the middle of it but from their testing they should have the basics for what they are learning in class. And their teacher has been informed about their homeschooling up to this point so they should be all set." she stood up and bowed politely to them, as Chichi and Gohana got up, returning it.
"No problem, i can help them figure out anything they need to play catch up. I've been able to help them with stuff mom or their part time tutors couldn't get them to understand."
"Oh, you must really have a way with teaching!" the principal said.
Gohana had a nervous smile on her face and just laughed. She did help explain some things to other technicians at Capsule Corp every now and then. And she did teach five people now to use ki in a short time. neither of which was actually easy to do.
"If there are any problems please call me." Chichi asked.
"Of course, we will contact both you and Mrs. Briefs if anything happens. And your daughter here as well. Um, before you go, may I ask one thing though?" she asked, though seeming more curious than anything.
"I guess so, what is it?" Chichi aske back.
"Well, its just their family name, Son. Would their father happen to be Son Goku?"
This threw Gohana and Chichi off, a lot. They both looked at each other, and then back just nodding to her.
"Oh okay I thought so!" she seemed excited but noticed their confusion.
"Sorry where are my manners. Well, you see my family used to go to the World Martial Arts tournament when it was still around when I was younger. I only ever got to go to the last three before it was revived. But I saw Son Goku fight at all three, and it got me started in martial arts. Im even entering the budokai myself." she explained.
"Oh you're entering it too?" Gohana asked.
"Well, I planned to try. But..." she trailed off.
Though this did seem a bit off, Gohana didn't mind it too much.
"But what?" Chichi asked wanting to know where she was going.
"Well, those things they could do back then. If you're his daughter I imagine you can do all those things as well. And just now you implied you were entering as well. " She answered more as a fact than a question.
This put Gohana in a weird situation mentally. Her thoughts went back to what King Furry had sawas only a matter if when at this point.
"I think you should still at least give it a try! So what if you can't use ki like my family can. Martial arts is about bettering yourself afterall! Not to win fights!" She paraphrased something Master Roshi had told her years ago. Though Chichi looked a tad nervous suddenly.
"I guess you're right! I may surprise myself. So should we have to worry about Goten and Raina then?" she asked, Gohana getting an idea what she was referring to.
"No they can control it just fine. Leagues better than even our dad could back then! And they're used to being out with normal people. You wont have to worry about them." Gohana reassured her with a confident smile.
"Okay, then thats good to know. Well then I think we have everything settled. If anything does happen we will give you a cal Miss. Son. And please let us know if you have any questions for us as well." she said
--
Gohana and Chichi were flying back home. Though they were going at a more leisurely pace for Chichi's sake since time wasn't as big of a factor this part of the flight. Though it woud take them about twice as long to get back. Gohana could easily get to school in about twenty minutes once they got back at top speed. Besides, Gohana hadn't even bothered to bring her backpack not knowing if she'd even get to school today.
"Do you think it was a good idea letting her know about ki like that?" Chichi finally spoke, having had that on her mind the moment Gohana had mentioned it earlier.
"Huh, oh well..." Gohana looked lost in thought for a moment, unsure what or how to say.
"At the point, with everything happening, the world publicly knowing about ki is a matter if when and not if. And she already seemed to know about it. Even if not by name she was aware if it. I figure, it will just help practice explaining these things little by little. King Furry thinks that soon when the world finds out, he would like me to be there to help if possible."
Chichi took this in, she could tell how serious Gohana was from her voice. She wasnt fully aware of everything but if Gohana said so, she would try her best to help.
"So, do you think they will be alright?" Chichi asked, changing the subject a bit.
"Of course they will, they've been looking forward to this for a bit. Besides my first day went pretty good!" Gohana smiled.
"If I may remind you young lady, your first day involved you becoming a low key super hero for the city." Chichi said, causing Gohana to nervously laugh a bit.
"Yeah I guess you're right."
"Still, like father like daughter. You just cant help protecting people. Honestly, I'm very proud you got that from your father."
"Goten and Raina will be fine. They've already been blending into society before. And unlike Satan City, its pretty peaceful usually in West City." Gohana tried to comfort her mom's worry.
"I know, but still I worry. You'll understand someday when you have your own family." Chchi said then paused for a moment. "Well, assuming you and Videl ever do." she obviously teased Gohana.
This caught Gohana so off guard she actually started falling because she lost control of her ki. She quickly recovered but her face was beat red as she returned higher up next to Kintoun
"MOM!?" she shouted, getting just a smile in response.

Class was going fairly normally, with rollcall currently in progress. The teacher was just calling attendance as the kids raised their hands. A small knock on the door caught everyones attention as the door opened. Everyone watched as two new kids walked in.
"Ah our new classmates!" the teacher happily exclaimed and welcomed them both in to the front.
"Alright class, these two will be joining us starting today. They've just started pubic school today having been homeschooled up until now, so be sure to be nice to them!"
Everyone seemed in awe at the term 'homeschooled' as that seemed a bit new to them. Granted they were only all eight years old.
"Would you two like to introduce yourselves?"
"Oh well my name is Goten!" Goten happily said and nothing else but bowed out of habit.
"Nice to meet you Goten, and your sister?" the teacher asked.
"My name is Raina. Its nice to meet everyone." she bowed at them as well, everyone nodding their head back, except one who just stared at them.
"Okay well we should have someone be your new guide to school. You've both been homeschooled so I can imagine it would be different. Anyone here want to be their new guides" the teacher asked.
Of course, kids being kids, many raised their hands excitedly. Goten and Raina just looked at everyone and was unsure what to do before they felt something suddenly.
"TRUNKS!" They both said in unision, as everyone looked back at Trunks.
"Oh, you already know Trunks! That will be perfect, all the easier to get used to school! Trunks, are you okay with that?"
"Hey, I volunteered didn't I?" Trunks asked sarcastically, then realizing no one but Goten and Raina would have a clue what he was talking about.
Raina and Goten made their way over to Trunks, there being three empty seats around him.
"Took you both long enough." he said.
"That was really smart letting us sense you." Raina said a bit under her breath.
"Yeah, I didnt see you before that."
"Hey wait a minute. I'm a year older than you both. How are you both in third grade as well?" he asked a bit confused.
"Well we both took a quick test and we tested into here. I didn't think anything of it honestly." Raina explained.
"I just barely did though." Goten sheepishly said.
Trunks just stared at them both.
'Great, not only are they stronger than me but just as smart.
"Alright class, enough with all the excitment. Lets get started with some basic math!"

It didn't take Chichi and Gohana too long to get back home. Gohana still needed to get a few things for school, deciding it was still early enough to get most of the day at school done so she would just go.
Chichi got started on cleaning up more of the dishes from making food for everyone. She did usually clean as she went, but there was always some stuff left for afterwards. But she wasnt able to finish before they had left as the phone call was a bit sudden. She could hear Gohana upstairs grabbing stuff as she went.
Finishing up the dishes, Chichi headed out to the living room to relax when she spotted Gohana staring at pictures on the wall. Headed over to her, she saw Gohana starin at the picture of her with her dad at the lake. It was taken the day before the Cell games. It was their last day to relax. Placing a hand on Gohana's shoulder, it broughher out of her mind.
"Oh, sorry mom." Gohana said and wiped a few tears from her eyes. "I guess I spaced out again." she smiled.
"It's okay sweety. Is everything alright?" Chichi asked.
Looking back at the picture again, Gohana thought outloud.
"Its just so much has happened since I started school. And with Goten and Raina starting today, it got me thinking about my first day. How I kearly snapped. And almost anything would trigger me." she started, Chichi just listening.
"But now, I dont know it feels...better. Like it still saddens me but not to the same extent. Like I can handle it better now." she continued.
"Well sweety, thats a part of it. You grow up and things change. Maybe going to school and making friends finally helped you move past it the way the rest of us couldn't."
Gohana thought for a moment, before lightly blushing thinking of Videl. Thinks had indeed changed. Or at least the ferocoty of her emotions. Now instead of being hyper sensitive about her dad, she was almost hyper lethally protective of Videl. Was that just the Saiyan bonding though? Or was it also part of her fear of lose only amplifying it. She wasnt too sure, but she did finally think maybe she should at least talk to Videl about it. Even if subtly in hints or off hand questions.
"Yeah, i think you're right mom."
