"Mom!" Gohana pouted in protest as she sat there.
"Hush young lady! You have no idea how long I've waited for this."
Chichi continued to with a decent amount of struggle to braid Gohana's hair. She had done it with Raina's hair before, somewhat regularly in fat. Though Gohana's hair was always far more chaotic than her sisters. It was the main reason Gohana always kept it either down, or a vast majority of the time just tied back. It was just easier for her!
"Do I have to wear the dress?" Gohana said looking over at the light yellow floral sun dress Chichi had picked out for her hanging on the wall.
"You're already wearing your training sports bra and some shorts. Just put the dress on over them." Chichi meet her in the middle.
Gohana just sat for the twenty minutes it took Chichi to finish the braid, tieing the end with a red strand cord. She was always surprised what her mom could do with her hair. Whenever she tried anything, other than just basic washing and conditioning, it turned out horrible. And her dad, well he was the reason her hair was super short when they came out of the time chamber. He accidentally chopped off nearly all the hair in the back. Even Bulma struggled the few times she ever tried. How did Chichi do it?
Looking herself in the mirror, Gohana did have to admit she actually liked how it looked! Chichi started to grab some make up, and was getting ready to apply it but she just stoped. Gohana looked annoyed but just sat there waiting before noticing Chichi had just stopped.
"Um, mom?" Gohana waved her hand to catch her attention.
"You know what, you really dont even need make up. You already look so beautiful. And for some reason your skin looks more radiant. That and honestly I dont think Videl will mind. From what I can tell neither of you really wear make up. Might be a tad weird her seeing you in make up if shes never seen you in it."
"Or with a braid or in a sun dress." Gohana lightly added to break the ice.
"Though honeslty, I do like the braid. Oh, wait but what if we have to go help the police?"
"Would you both really stop your date to do that?" Chichi asked, Gohana just nodding.
"Well, you usually go as Super Saiyan 2, right? You're still pretty early, just real quick transform and ill try fixing it up if needed."
Gohana went into Super Saiyan 2 and was surprised her braid didn't really do much! Of course her bangs and the top turned into their usual spiked upwards strands, the larger and smler strand that hung in front of her face but her braid just almost floated a little bit a few inches off her back. It almost reminder her exactly how it looked when she first unlocked it during thebCell games, plus the braid. Though the semi puffy end Chichi had gone for turned into a spiky little ball of blond hair. Some stray strands around her hair line along her neck and near her ears stood out though a bit more so than when typically just tied back. Gohana honestly thought it looked nice.
"I guess that will work." Gohana said and returned to base.
Chichi looked over the braid and noticed her transformation didn't even effect it when she powered down, and was very happy about that.
"Alright, now go ahead and try on the dress and come on down when you're ready." Chcihi said and left the room.
Gohana just stood and grabbed the dress from the hanger. It already looked not vey constricting at all. It almost looked to big? She was used to the fancy dresses her mom made her wear during family gatherings. Still, Gohana went back to her room and changed her sweat pants to some jean shorts. She made sure to get one with pockets so she could put her watch in it.
"Hey mom, where's Gohana going?" Goten asked.
"Your sister is going on a date with someone special." Chichi answered.
"A date? Whats that?" Goten asked confused.
"Goten, its when two people who like each other hang out!" Raina explained.
"Oh, okay. So does that mean you and Trunks go on dates? You two hang out a lot lately." Goten asked.
Raina's face turned beat red as she suddenly started flailing and hitting her brother repeatedly, Goten looked confused at what was even happening. Chichi was nearlylost it, and was barely holding back from falling over in laughter.
Gohana soon came down and just stared confused as to what she saw. Raina was beating Goten, Goten just looked annoyed and confused, and their mom was just laughing hard while it was painfully obvious she was trying so hard not to laugh at all! Going over, she separated Raina and Goten.
"Hey what's gotten into you both?" she asked confused.
Raina and Goten both looked up at Gohana, having not seen her in dresses often. Though Gohana honestly didn't find it that bad. It fit reasonably well around her chest, with an elastic part a bit farther down. And after that it was totally lose. It wasn't as bad as she had thought it would be.
"Goten is teasing me." Raina pouted.
"I was just asking what a date was!" Goten defended himself.
"You're teasing me about going on dates with Trunks!" Raina snapped back. It was now Gohana's turn to snicker
"Huh, Gohana who are you going on a date with?" Goten asked.
Gohana blushed a bit and just had a really goofy smile.
"Um, Videl and I...well were dating."
"Is that like Vegeta and Bulma? Goten asked.
"I think they're married, right?" Raina interjected.
"Oh, so dating is like married!" Goten laughed a bit.
"Umm, well I guess its the first step to being married I guess you could say." Gohana understood Gotens logic.
"So you and Videl are gonna get married?" Goten innocently asked.
Gohana froze and went beat red again. She was starting to attempt and say something, but Goten just stared at her even more confused as she was making no sense at all.
"Now now Goten, don't keep her from heading out." Chichi told them.
"Now Gohana, well I guess just make sure you and Videl have fun okay! And let me know when you'll be home! And stay safe. And don't do anything stupid!"
"Um, mom Videl and I are just going to the fair." Gohana nervously laughed, though she understood why her mom was like this.
Videl stood at the fairs enterance. She was a little nervous, obviously. She was now taken and about to go on her first date. She arrived early, thinking that it would help her not be so nervous. Now that she was here, nope. She was far more nervous now!
She had already spent a weirdly long amount of time figuring out what to even dress in. She figured her typical biker shorts and large t shirt wouldn't cut it. Still, just in case they got called to help, she wanted to at least be able to move. She settled on a simple sleeveless shirt and some shorts. Still not her typical cloths, but was also much nicer than usual.
"Man how much longer till Gohana gets here?"
While she was waiting, a few people recognized her and had stopped to ask for an autograph and a photo with her. Videl was happy to oblige, they looked no older that ten years old. She couldn't say no to kids!
Videl didn't have to wait too much longer though, Gohana was so enrvous she didnt realize how quickly she had flown. Videl saw her walking up, though at first she almost didnt recognize her, until the wild and crazy hair being a dead give away! Videl was blushing.
'Wow, shes so cute.'
"Hey Videl, sorry I hope I didn't make you wait too long! I tried getting here a bit early."
"Oh, no I only just got here a few minutes ago myself." Videl lied, having been there for nearly an hour!
"Wow you look really cute! I take it your moms idea to braid your hair?" Videl teased her a bit.
"Yeah, though I honestly kinda like the braid. I didn't think i would." Gohana ran her braid through her hand.
"I think you look really good with the braid to be honest! i hada suits you!"
Gohana just blushed and smiled heavily.
"Well you can tell her I approve and appreciate the effort. Although now I feel a little under dressed." Videl said holding her arms out and glancing down.
"What? No, you look amazing!" Gohana defended her and bluahed.
"Well, lets head on in. Im sure the scent will make you want to try some of the foods! They sure do for me! Have you ever been to a fair?" Videl asked.
"No, I can't say I have. At least not like this." Gohana looked at everything, she could see some rides, a ferris wheel, and most of all she could smell a lot of good things!
Gohana's stomach growled a little bit, causing her to blush a little bit.
"Come on you, let's start with some snacks." Videl grabbed Gohana's hand and started pulling her into the fair, both of them blushing a bit.
Gohana watched as she watched the person take a stick and swirl it around a spinnng wheel. She could faintly see the pink strands flying out if the center and collect on the stuck as it got bigger and bigger.
'Huh, it really does look like cotton.' She thought to herself.
"Here you go lady's, enjoy!" The vendor held them out.
Videl and Gohana took their cotton candy as Videl paid for them. Gohana just stared at what she was holding. She could smell the sweetness of it but didnt know exactly how to eat it.
"Have...you never had cotton candy?" Videl asked having noticed the confused look on Gohana's face.
"No, I don't think ive even ever seen it before. How do I eat it exactly?"
Videl just stared at Gohana and couldn't hold back a slight blush. Damn it why does she have to be so cute and innocent? Tearing a bit off of hers, Videl held it up to Gohana near her mouth. Gohana got the message and took the cotton candy in her mouth as her eyes suddenly budged having not expected not just the taste, but the sensation of it just literally melting!
"Oh wow this is amazing!" As Gohana tore off a small piece and started eating more.
"Well if you like that, you're gonna love some of the other stuff they have here!
Videl was having a blast! More so just walking around with Gohana, seeing the excited look on Gohanas face at all of the stuff. Obviously Gohana seemed more excited about the food stuff. Then again that was also her favorite thing about the fair, so she couldn't blame Gohana.
They went from vendor to vendor, just looking around. Videl wanted to make sure that Gohana was having fun above all else. And it was very clear that she was having fun, even just looking around.
"What do you say we go on a roller coaster now?"
"Huh, yeah! That sounds like fun! I've never been on one before."
Videl and Gohana just stood in line for one of the larger ones. Gohana just watched the train go along the tracks, the loops, the twists, the peaks and drops. She was honestly comparing it to flying in a way. Gohana kept watching as she finished the chicken skewers they had got right before getting in line.
"So you've never been on a roller coaster either huh?"
"Nope. It looks like fun though."
"Even with what you have been through and can do, a roller ccoaster excits you huh?" Videl teased Gohana.
"Yeah, I mean Lime mentioned even though she can fly, sky diving and stuff still feels very different. I'd guess a roller coaster would feel different as well " Gohana tried to explain to her.
Gohana was indeed right. She had a lot of excitement on the ride, and it was very different to regualr flying. Videl was finding it really cute how excited Gohana was getting. She was very glad she had decided to invite her here specifically on their first date.
Videl was staying close to Gohana as they made their way around, deciding to ride some more of the rides since Gohana enjoyed them so much.
When it became lunch time, they found an area with a lot of food vendors. There were also a lot of beer vendors as well, so there were a few people here and there where it was obvious they had a little bitbl too much. Nothing bad at all, but just seemed very loud and happy.
Videl got a simple burger with onions rings and a strawberry shake. Gohana gkt the same thing, along with a corn dog, a pulled pork sandwhich, a lqrge turkey drumstick, and mashed potatoes. They sat down next to each other and started eating. Gohana eating a bit faster than Videl but not her usual pace.
"I'm really having a fun time today!" Gohana spoke up as she happily took a bite from the turkey leg.
"Im glad. Honestly im having a really fun time as well." Videl said and scooted a bit closer to Gohana.
They casually chatted and people watched, Gohana also explaining how to sense the differences in peoples ki as Videl happened to bring it up. Gohana said it would probably be tricky at first with so many weak ki's here. But those close to them should be sensable for her. Even with the lesson, Videl hoped nothing could ruin this day for her! But alas.
"Hey there cuties. You two alone?" They heard behind them and both turned around, seeing a few guys. Videl instantly could tell they had a bit too much to drink and groaned.
"Look guys, no offense but were not interested." Videl tried to end this entire exchange right here and now.
"Ah dont say that. You, hick, havnt even heard what we have to say."
"Well we dont want to anyway." Gohana shot back, surprising not just them, but Videl as well!
"Oh come on were just lonely, and you got plenty of food. Guess your dates ditched you?" they tried to use that angle seeing nearly four meals worth of food.
"Can you please leave us alone?" Gohana asked them, noticing they had too much to drink from their breath.
"You sure you dont wanna reconsider?".
"As I said, buzz off." Gohana just turned back to her food and took a bite from her sandwhich hoping they would leave. Videl also just returned to her food
"Come on man, maybe we should just leave." one of the spoke up.
"No hold up there. Is that any way to treat someone asking nicely." he asked and put his hand on Videls shoulder.
Videl was about to bat his hand away instantly before she realized Gohana already reached behind her and had a grip on his hand. Looking over she saw Gohana was just calmly finishing chewing the food in her mouth as the guy was trying to get away. Gohana wasn't cruahing his hand, just making an unescapable grip. Gohana casually got up from the bench without loosening her grip and turned to face him.
"Now, let me tell you how this is going to go." Gohana started in a weirdly dominating yet soft voice. This caught Videl's attention.
"You are either going to walk away and leave us alone and no one will notice, and we can all foget this happened. Or I can scream and easily get you in trouble with security for assulting two girls smaller than you. The choice is yours. But dont you dare lay a hand on my girlfriend again!" Gohana sounded more menacing at the last part, slightly squeezing his hand harder. Not nearly enough to break it, but far more than needed, before letting him go.
Now that his hand was free, he was holding it in pain. It must have worked as without another word he and his drunk friend just left. Goahana's face softened as she smiled and returned to sitting down. A few around them had noticed this go down.
"Sorry if I got a bit too aggressive there." She smiled and returned back to her food.
Videl just watched for a few seconds slightly blushing before returning to her own foo as well. She felt like she was floating from happiness
'Girlfriend.' Videl thought, still slightly not believing she wasn't in some coma or dream world or something.
After lunch they spent a little bit more time playing some of the many games they saw. Though they both sucked at them, and neither of them won anything. But they were still having fun. Neither couldn't stop smiling and laughing.
They were both so happy about today and having such a great time. Videl a few times as they were walking had nervously reached out to Gohans hand and held onto it. After earlier Gohana calling her her girlfriend, Videl was rather happy to actually hear that put in public. They both blushed lightly as they did, but neither seemed opposed to it.
"Hey, you're having fun, right?" Videl finally asked.
"Yeah, this place is really fun! And the food is surprisingly delicious! And the games were pretty fun too, even if we didn't win anything." Gohana smiled.
This made Videl smile back, she was really glad Gohana was having fun. She could tell she really meant it as well. It was almost like watching a kid get excited, but more control over themselves.
They headed over to the final area they had not yet visited. Though there wasn't any rides, it seemed to have more shops and games. Gohana was surprised by som kf the gamea she saw. She noticed some people hanging from a bar with a clock behind them. Apparently hang long enough and win a prize sort if thing.
"Have you ever won anything at a fair before? Gohana asked.
"No, not really. Well, except my dad. When i was younger he slent neay five hours straight trying to win me that giant teddy bear thats in my room."
"Huh, I wouldn't necessarily call it huge but it is pretty big."
"Hey, I was seven when he won it, it was gigantic to me back then." Videl pouted, cauaing Gohana to laugh a little.
"Yeah, I guess it would be giant to a seven year old. It is bigger than Goten and Raina afterall.
Gohana heard Videl suddenly squeal and watched as she bolted over to a game area and just followed.
"No way, it's still here?!" Videl was stairing at a plush of a cute dragon.
"Whats with the dragon?" Gohana asked when she got next to her, causing Videl to blush.
"Its, a really rare collectors item. I was obsessed with dragons as a kid. I have the entire set but that one!" Videl seemed more excited, almost like Goten when he's super excited for something.
"You know you're kinda cute when you're like this." Gohana smiled at her, Videl juat bluahing and turning to the man at the game.
"Excuse me sir, how do I win that plush dragon?" Videl nearly shouted.
"Ah, excited I see there miss. That is our top tier prize as it hasn't been made for years! it's 1000 zeni per attempt."
"1000!?" Videl nearly shouted, getting into the Fair having only been 700.
"Yes, its an incredibly rare item. It hasn't been made in nearly five years and it is also the rarest an entire collection."
"Can I see the authenticity tag please!" Videl nearly shouted, knowing this was so rare there were official seals of authenticity.
"Oh, I see you know your stuff. Of course, please come on over and check it out fou yourself."
Videl spent nearly five minutes checking it over, eventually using her phone to check the net and using the code on the tag to check on the site.
"No way, its real!" Videl was nearly in shock
"I'll play, whats the game exactly?" Gohana asked, noticing this booth had several different looking game machines and having watched the last five minute how excited Videl was.
"Its quite simple, but not so easy ma lady. You have ten second to strike the punching machine one hundred and fifty times."
'That explains why nobody has won it yet then ' Gohana though, pulling her wallet from her jeans.
"I dont have that in cash but can I just use my card? Gohana asked having used most of the cahs she had brought with her on other games and food.
"Of course my dear" he walked kver and just acanned it, then proceded to the machine and slipped the switch from 'strength' to 'punch count'
"Alright miss, let's see if you can win the most coveted prize of the last seven years! To date, many have tried but no one has succeeded. Now when the bell rings, go ahead an start.
Gohana got into a light stance and waited for the bell. When the bell rang, Gohana started punching, surprising not only the vendor but some passersbys with how fast she was punching. Videl was juat beaming though! She knew she'd have that dragon!
"Oh im sorry but only one hundred and fourty five!" the vendor said when the bell rang.
"I must say its not often anyone gets even close to there. But better luck next time!"
Gohana looked over to Videl who looked kinda surprised.
"Gonna go again." Gohana got ready, and after a few moments the bell rang. Gohana started counting this time and she wanted to make sure she got this time.
The bell rang and only read one fourty three.
'Weird, did I misscount?'
"Im gonna try again." And got ready.
Videl just held up her card so she could go again. As soon as the bell rang, Gohana made sure to manually count each punch as she did so landing on one sixty five in her head after counting ever single punch
"Wow, so close! One fourty nine! No one has ever gotten that high! But you were so close." Gohana catching instantly what was going on.
"How sensitive is this machine?" she flatly asked. "Like how quickly could it register punches."
"Oh, don't like losing I see. Dont worry this bad boy could count the bullets from a machine gun impacting it and it is calibrated mobthly to make ensure to be fare. So I assure you it will regiater every punch you throw at it. Even several people at once."
"So it could regiater a couple hundred per second then. Fine, go again."
'Ill show you you sleeze ball.'
The moment the bell rang, Gohana got the counter up to one fourty seven within a two seconds, her arms nearly become invisible, causing the man to look in total shock. With seven seconds left, Gohana just casually stood and stared at him and started repeatedly clearly hitting the pad numerous times a second. By the time the bell rang, it only crept up to one fourty nine again, dispite clearly hitting it nearly five times every second for nearly five seconds.
"Fair you say huh? You just saw me only need three more hits yet hit it over twenty times." For emphasis she impacted it with enough force to actually move the machine a few inches.
"You're going to give me the prize you're clearly conning people with. Or should I make sure others know what you're doing?"
More than the flurry of punches, Gohana nudging the machine so casually made him realize he was caught. He quickly, and carefully, grabbed the little plush dragon and handed it to her.
"No, no need. And please take a few more, anything! Im sorry. Please dont say anything.
Looking up, Gohana found two plushes Goten and Raina would probably like and picked those. A small unicorn with fluffy hair for Raina a fluffy, and for Goten a t rex plush The man quickly grabbed them and handed them to Gohana.
"Thank you." Gohana's demeanor instantly switched as she had the three plushes and turned and walked away with Videl.
The man just looked in horror at the machine. It took a forklift, and several movers to get the thing to budge, and she barely tapped it and it moved.
"Oh my god i cant believe after all these years I finally have this one! Ive been searching for years!
Gohana and Videl were walking as Videl wouldnt stop beaming, staring at the Capsule in her hand. To make sure it disnt get messed ul she had placed it in an empty storage capsule she had.
"Ive been searching for this for years! Ive only even been able to find collectors woth them, but they've never been willing to seperate with it." Videls voice was higher pitched than usual.
"I'm glad you like it." Gohana said woth a smile, Bdiel surprising her with a quick kiss on her cheek.
"You have no idea how halpy this makes me!"
"I didn't know you liked dragons so much." Gohana said smiling and lightly rubbing her cheek.
"Well since I was a kid I was obsessed woth dragons. Ive always seen them in books and documentaries. But because they are off limits no Zoo is allowed to have one. Ove never been able to see one. Well maybe out the aircraft in passing."
"So what got you into dragons?" Gohana asked, enjoying this side of Videl.
"I guess you could say deel down I've just always been drawn towards dragons, I can't really exain it. Like that dragon necklacece you wear sometimes. Until now, I was a bit too nervous to say much, but I really think its beautiful I wish I could have something similar." Videl blushed.
Gohana just smiled and laughed a little.
"Yeah, I can get what you mean." She said, taking a cue from Videl and putting the plushies in a capsule herself.
"Hey sknce we've seen everything here, or mostly everything, you want to take a quick detour somewhere?" Gohana smiled.
"Yeah sure. Where we going?"
"Well how long wpuld it take you to fly to my place? Gohana asked.
"Um, I think at the rate I could fly, maybe an hour from here? I can now consistently fly far faster than my jet for a while. I still need glasses though, my eues aren't fully used to it just yet Why?"
"Here just follow me" Gohana made her way towards a shopping stall she saw earlier.
Videl noticed all the shades and glasses that were on display. Some were insanely stylish, some very out there and too much, and some just regular looking. Grabbing a pair and looking at them.
"Here Videl." Gohana interrupted her thoughs and handed her the shades she just bought.
"Oh, I take it were flying somewhere." Videl pushed them onto her.
Videl just looked at Gohana and then back at the glasses, and then without asking put them on Gohana. Gohana just stood there and looked confused.
" Um Videl?"
"Look in the mirror."
Gohana did and noticed how well the glasses looked on her. They were rather simple looking, thin rined glasses. They were just fkr show of course, but even Gohana had to admit they did look good on her.
"It goes really well, you're already really cute and such a bookworm. Kinda adds to them both." Videl smiled.
Gohana smiled as well and promptly purchased the glasses that were currently on her head. Videl hadn't expected Gohana to get them. But she honestly was a little exckted she would get to see her like that more often. Turning back to Videl gohana smiled.
"Okay lets get going then."
Gohana was holding onto Videl as she flew them both to their location. Videl wanted to fly on her own, but Gohana really wanted to make sure they had plenty of time, so she flew them both. The shades were a really good call as she was able to easily keep her eyes open the entire time.
"So are you going to tell me where we are going?" Videl asked confused, noticing the area wasn't exactly populated. It did sort of look similar to the area Gohana lived though.
"We're just about there. And I dont want to say just yet."
They flew for a couple more minutes until Gohana stoped them over a forrest. Videl noticed there were also mountain structures as well, along with high pillars of rocks. Gohana let Videl fly on her own now and Videl just looked around.
"Wow it's really pretty. Is this what you wanted to show me?"
Gohana let out a really loud whistle out of nowhere. It seemed to have a specific purpose as well. Videl just floated there as she looked around looking for something. She quickly realized she didn't even know what she was looking for. She just saw some birds and some ptyerodons flying, and some dinosaurs down below.
"Hey, what are we looking for?" Videl finally asked.
"Well, I wanted to introduce you to someone, but..."Gohana was glancing around. Turning around Gohana laughed a little bit.
"Videl, come on this way!" Gohana said excitedly and started flying in a direction, Videl following confused.
Videl nearly panicked when she saw something come flying at them and stopped right at the moment it ran right into Gohana. Having no idea what to do, ahe thought Gohana would have just avoided it or slaped it away, but they full on collided! Videl quickly noticed that whatever this creature was was licking Gohana, and Gohana was laughing.
"A dragon!?" Videl's voice was a mix of shock and excitement at the purple dragon hugging Gohana.
This quickly got Icarus' attention and he quickly and nervously hid behind Gohana as he peered at Videl from behind the safety of Gohana.
"Aww, it's okay Icarus, this is Videl. She's a friend. She's my gifriend." Gohana turned and softly rubbed his snout.
Turning to Videl, Gohana left a hand on his snout and nidged her head for Videl to come over. Videl slowly made her way closer, a bit nervous. She could also tell he was so nervous, but seeemed calm with Gohana. Videl stared Icarus in the eyes, and he back and he just flapped his wings.
"Videl, this is Icarus."
Videl slowly reached her hand out, Icarus looking at it, and to Gohana who just smiled and nodded. Slowly making his way the few feet to Videl, Icarus sniffed her hand and just starred at her for a few seconds, before nudging his snout against her hand and giving it a lick. He let out a light noise and Videls heart skipped.
"Oh hes so cute!" Videl was so excited to actually not only see a dragon in real life, but interact with one!
"I thought dragons typically wernt very docile though. They're usually hard to manage, and cant be safely kept in captivity. How is he so friendly?" Videl asked as she kelt rubbing Icarus under his jaw, Icarus just making a soft cookng noises.
"When I was younger I went on a camping trip for a few days. It was before we headed to Namek. There was a forrest fire. He was trapped under a tree but I managed to save him. He's super friendly towards me and my family now."
"Oh, that makes sense. And people he isn't familiar with?"
"He just avoides them like most dragons" Gohana smiled as it seemed Icarus was already warming up to Gohana.
They spend the next hour with Icarus, mosy playing and relaxing, Gohana shlwing Videl how they typically played. He seemed more like. gigantic dog than a dragon! But Videl seemed so happy the entire time! It was only the sun slowly starting to set that made them realize they should be headed back.
Videl and Gohana landed in her backyard. They had made their way back fast enough again thanks to Gohana that the sun wasnt setting to them again. They both walked towards the front door, Videl didn't want anyone to be suspicious why she was coming through the back door. When they got to the front they both stopped.
"Gohana, I had so much fun today! Thank you." Vdel smiled.
"I had a lot of fun too! Im glad you got to meet Icarus!"
"Did you not tell me in case he didn't show up?"
Gohana smiled and rubber her neck a bit. "Yeah, didn't want to get your hopes up. He's usually around there but sometimes he does travel around."
"Well, I'm glad he did. And I'm really glad we did go on this date." Videl blushed a bit.
Gohana was so very glad herself. It went a lot better than she would have thought. She was really glad they took her moms advice. Oh thats right!
"So, I know part of moms idea was to help us figure out, well you know..." Gohana looked a bit nervous now.
Videl quickly picked up where she was going. They were officially dating, that was no question. But did they want to keep it hush hush? She just grabbed Goahana's face and pulled her in for a deep kiss. Gohana was a bit thrown off by it but she happily returned it.
"I'm not going to go shout it to the whole world, no. But Im tired of all the secrets in my life. I dont want to add my feelings for you to that. I don't care who knows. If...you're alright with it." Videl became a bit nervous.
"Yeah." Gohana took Videls face and softly kissed her forehead and smiled with a nod.
"You get home now, okay? We have school tomorrow." Videl spoke up, although really not wanting her to go.
"Ahem." someone cleared their throat right next to them.
Videl and Gohana almost immediately separated and looked towards whoever was there, faces red.
"May?" Videl's face was beat red.
"Well I take it it's obvious the young couple in front of me is coming home from a date?" She raised her eyebrow.
Videl and Gohana were both blushing harder. Gohana nervously rubbed her neck and Videl stuttered a bit.
"Well, that answers that. Videl, your father was looking to chat with you before you headed to bed. He wanted to talk about the tournament coming up, but he said if you're too tired tomorrow would also be fine."
She turned to Gohana.
"I'm sure you're well aware that Mr. Satan has very strict conditions for who can date his daughter."
"Well his rule was always for a 'boy' to date me. And as you can clearly see," Videl emphasizing her point by gesturing towards Gohanas somewhat moderat bust, causing her to blush hard being put on display like that, "Gohana's clearly a girl."
"And also should be able to beat him in a fight." May continued.
"May, we both know you dont like that rule either." Videl pointed out.
"Well technically your father does employ me as the head of security and staff. Its my job to enforce your safety."
"So you're going to stop us or tattle to my father?"
"Why would I tell Hercule his daughter, who is already stronger than him and can use that light attack stuff and fly, is dating someone who is the daughter of a three time Budokai finalist, a champion, and is also a martial artist herself. And if my suspicion is correct even stronger than you?" May glanced over at Gohana.
Gohana and Videl both just stared at May dumbstruck, neither of them having any clue how to respond to that.
"Relax," she uncrossed her arms and her demeanor calmed a bit, "I've seen you both fly, and when Mrs. Son here first came I did a background check. I made the connection between the name and saw what was done back in the Budokai by a Son Goku, and similarities with the Cell Games. If I'm correct, you were that little girl who fought Cell, as well as the Princess of the Fire Mountian kingdom. And the local hero Saiyako." She turned to Gohana.
Gohana was shocked she was able to make that connection so easily and looked to Videl. Videl seemed impressed and then noticed Gohana staring at her.
"May was a private detective at some point before she changed professions. May, how long have you known?"
"Awhile at this point now, but it doesnt matter. Who you date is your business, not your fathers. Plus it's just father bravado and protective instincts."
"I know. Could, you not tell him? Id rather him not find out that way." Videl asked.
"No worries. It's not my place to tell him anyway. Well, technically it is my job to inform him of things. But your personal life if just that, personal. That and I am certian you are quiet safe."
Gohana just nervously rubber her neck again, and then glanced back over at Videl.
"Videl, if you wouldn't mind, may I have a moment with Mrs. Son here?"
Videl just bluahed and nodded, turning back to Gohana.
"I'll see you at school tomorrow." and headed past May into the house.
May moved out of the way lightly for Videl, before tunring back to Gohana. "So was I wrong about anything?"
Gohana quickly thought back about everything she said, and nothing was wrong.
"No, but could you please keep it all a secret? I really don't want the attention!" Gohana look nervous.
"So, you were the one who did it. I guess Videl's suspicions were correct afterall." May stated.
Gohana just noded nervously. Just how many people actually knew about her secret?
"Um, you wont tell anyone about me, right?"
"Well, as far as I'm concerned, you fit Hercules dating requirements, and Videl is in no danger. So I see no reason to tell him. Besides, you're not the only one who has stuff they'd rather keep secret. Now if you'll excuse me Mrs. Son..."
"Just Gohana please."
"If you'll excuse me Gohana, I have to be somewhere." May said and just walked past Gohana.
Gohana was relieved, though she was worried someone had fogured it out. Granted it isnt like she was trying to hide evidence. It was publically available afterall. One just needed to have an open mind and just dig a little. Figuring she should head home, Gohana glanced around and saw no one around, and quickly went airborn in the blink of an eye.
Videl closed the door behind her and just sighed. She was glad that May wouldn't say anything. She wasn't sure where he dad was and figured she would have to look for him. May didn't say where he was.
Videl thought for a moment, she could practice what Gohana was talking about. Videl took a deep breath and tried feeling out ki signatures. She could feel a few around, but she noticed one specific ki was a lot more potent in the living room! That would be her dad alright.
Heading into the living room, sure enough she found Hercule relaxing on the couch.
"Hey dad, I heard you wanted to chat about the tournament?"
"Oh Videl sweety, how was your day?" his demeanor changing quickly.
Videl barel held back a blush.
"It was fun! I just went to the fair with Gohana."
"Oh, she's the one who also was going to enter the tournament, right?" he asked.
"Yeah. Actually, May said you wanted to talk to me about the tournament. Whats up?" She asked, knowing it wasn't often they talked about that specifically. Granted this was the Budokai, not a random tournament.
"Well we have a lot of sponsors being the big tournament. Well they wanted to know if you wanted to be sponsored, or your friend."
"Sponsored? Thats a bit different." Videl was confused.
"Well they have been implementing that in some smaller ones the last two years. Well I told them that you wouldn't unless you already liked what it was. There were a few places looking to sponsor someone that I know you also already like. So I figured I would ask you if you wanted to look it over."
Videl was still a bit surprised at that bit it did make sense.
"Yeah. Sure I'll take a look at it." Videl paused and then looked deep in thought.
"Now I have to head on to bed. I have to head out super early." he hugged her and Videl returned it. "You sleep well, alright?" he grabbed his book and started to head off.
"Dad, about the Cell Games.." Videl blurted out.
"Oh, what about it sweety?" he turned, curious what she was going to ask.
Should she ask him? She had a good grasp on ki, she could even have her aura appear and even use the kamehameha wave! She coukd easily force it out of him. But should she right now? No, she wanted Gohana there. Besides, Gohana deserved to know even more than her! She shouldn't confront her father until Gohana was here.
"Could...we talk about it? Not tonight but later this week? Tomorrow maybe?"
"Huh? Yeah I guess." Hercule was a tad nervous but more worried. It wasnt often she brought it up.
"Thanks. I was just curious about a few things is all you thought about during." Videl somewhat lied, but smiled.
Gohana flew across the sky way faster than shebeven ment to. She was so estatic and happy she almost even hit a few creatures that were flying. She tried to focus more on where she was going until she got him.
Landing just outside her house, Gohana opened the door only to be almost instantly bombarded her mom.
"Gohana, how did your date go! Are you both going to go out again?"
Gohana hadn't even closed the front door before she was unloaded with questions, she was still holding the door handle with it halfway closed.
"It was fine mom, we both had a lot of fun actully!" Gohana smiled and closed the door.
"Did you make sure she had fun?"
"Of course! I found out she even loves dragons! So we went and I got to introduce her to Icarus! You should have seen her mom, she was so happy! She's always wanted to just see a dragon in person! But Icarus really liked her back!" Gohana didnt realize how excited she sounded.
This didn't go unnoticed by Chichi, who just slent the next few minutes listening to Gohana being so excited as she recapped her date. She didn't even interrupt her once. When Gohana finally calmed down and stopped talking, Gohana was just smiling like a compelte happy idiot.
"So, are you both going to keep your relationship hidden? It's obvious you are both going to keep dating."
"Well, we're not going to go around telling everyone we see." Gohana blushed. "But were not going to hide it either."
Chichi just smiled one of the biggest smiles Gohana had ever seen. Even she could tell how happy her mom was for her. It was impossible not to.
"But, do you think you could teach me to braid my hair?"
"Of course sweety!" Chichi smiled, not needing to ask why. She knew why.
Gohana layed curled under her covers, grining like a total idiot. She couldn't recall the last time she was this happy. She was close to dozing off to sleep when her phone buzzed. Grabbing it, she noticed it was from Videl. She opened it up excitedly.
'I had such a fun time today!'
Gohana's face was a bit flushed as she smiled and texted back.
'Me too! Im so glad got to meet Icarus as well.'
'Im going to confront my dad about the Cell Games tomorroe after school. I want you to be there! You deserve to hear it from him. Will you be here as well?'
Gohana read that and just stared at it. In truth she always did want to know why Hercule took the credit. Why he bashed her entire family! Though to be honest a part of her was beyond grateful he did. But what should she say?
She noticed Videl didnt send anything back, she was waiting for what Gohana had to say. She gave it some though, not wanting to give a half trith, and started typing.
'I do want to know, as long as it stays between all of us. Besides I can spar him andbwin hosbrules anyway!" Gohana smiled.
It didnt take long before she saw the response.
"I juat want us to hear the truth from him. I dont want the world to know either. Ill see you tomorrow. 3"
Gohana blushed at the symbol and send one back.
"I Love you too, Videl."
