For as hard as it had been on both Hody and Topaz to deal with their unplanned pregnancy, the moment their son was born they had both agreed that it had all been worth it. Holding their son in their hands had made dealing with all the morning sickness, the mutters from the court, and the judging gazes seem like nothing.

Of course it didn't need to be said their child was already amazing. As far as they were concerned, he was the most adorable and talented thing ever to be born. And Hody being Hody of course wanted everyone to know it. He didn't care if he was a bastard, or not in line for the throne. He was going to throw a grand party in honor of his boy.

When he announced he wanted to have it, the noble families of the Waterfolk kingdom looked at him as he had grown a second head. In their eyes the child was a mistake. Even ignoring that fact that he was a half-breed, he was bastard born. What was the point in further advertising their misdeeds?

But it only took a few words from his father to make it clear that this was happening, regardless of whether they had their approval or not. The King and Queen had already fallen in love with their grandson, and were more than willing to host a dinner to celebrate the newest member of the family.

To many people's shock, quite a number of visitors from the other kingdoms had come to see the child. Hody had honestly been worried that it'd be a low turnout. Some silent protest against his son… or him. He might have changed his ways, but he wasn't exactly the most well liked among the royals. Honestly Topaz was probably more well received then he was at this point.

Of course hardly anyone was going to get time to see him if his mother had his way. "Oh, he's just so cute!" Camie said cooing over his grandson. The queen had of course been a bit upset with her son getting himself into this situation. But she'd also been ecstatic about having grandkids. She'd thought with how he used to go through girls that she'd end up having to wait for Maria and Astro to give them to her. She spent practically every moment smoothing the child with affection.

Turq sat there with the usual pout on his face. He certainly wasn't the most expressive little one. "He really is his father's son," Larry said smiling as he poked at his cheek. "You used to scowl just like that… though that was usually only when you were fussy. Is he really like that all the time?"

Topaz laughed. "Not all the time. He lights up whenever he's swimming."

Camie held him up in the air. "So you're already swimming are you? I'm glad to hear it. You know Hody, if he had your teeth he really would look just like you." She could already tell he wasn't going to have them. Both she and Hody had been born with hers, so it was unlikely he'd grow them in later.

Hody hummed. "Yes, a bit of a shame, but it won't be any problem. He's got more than enough to make up for it," he said as Camie reluctantly handed Turq back to him. "I can already tell he's going to become the greatest warrior mewni has seen."

Larry scratched his cheek. "He's… he's not even one yet…" It wasn't like he doubted his grandson would grow to do great things, but it was a bit early to peg him as a warrior, wasn't it?

Topaz shook her head. "He's our son after all. He's bound to be a total badass," she said smirking proudly. "He's gonna be the most kickass little thing ever!"

Both Camie and Larry looked towards one another amused. The two were still clearly on the high of proud parent mode. They remembered how happy they were when Hody was born. Of course after it wore off and the downsides of looking after a newborn started to wear them down, it even out…

"So that's the little runt huh?"

They looked up as they saw the Johansen brothers, along with their partners, approaching. Tor was the first to reach him, and in his arms were his and Sauce's own children. "Hey, what did you bring them for? This is supposed to be my baby's time in the spotlight," Topaz said, crossing her arms.

Tor scowled back at her. "Excuse us for not being crappy parents and leaving our kids by themselves," he said. "I didn't even want to come to this stupid thing anyway, so be glad I showed up at all."

Sauce elbowed him. "Tor, stop it." She turned back towards Topaz. "Sorry, he's been out on quite a few missions lately, so he's trying to spend all the time he can with them. I hope you don't mind."

Hody waved it off. "Don't be ridiculous, she was only joking." As much as he and Tor liked to pick with one another, he understood him wanting to be close to his kids. He hardly ever wanted to set Turq down.

Turq looked up towards the other infants curiously. Whiff stared back curiously at the other boy, while Scent clung to her father and narrowed her eyes, as if silently asking him what he was staring at him. "I can tell who takes after who…" Topaz muttered.

Misty suddenly stepped forward and reached for Turq. "Oh, he's so cute! Hey there little man! It's your auntie Misty," she said practically snatching him from Hody. The boy looked confused, and Twister quickly stepped forward.

"For stump's woman, don't just snatch him up like that. He'll get whiplash," he said steading her hands. Misty could get way too excited sometimes. Turq looked towards his father's best friend, and then tilted his head. "Hey shrimp. Look at you. Spitting image of your dad… only more angry looking somehow."

Hody smirked. "That's your uncle Twister Turq. He's gonna be the one on babysitting duty whenever we're too busy," he joked.

Twister scoffed. "Yeah right, not a chance in-"

"We'll watch him whenever you want. Little cutie," Misty said, rubbing her face against his. "Oh, he's so freaking adorable! Hey Twister, when are we gonna have one?"

"Never…" Twister said scowling. "I admit the little guy is kind of cute, but you're gonna forget all about that the first time he takes a crap in his diaper. If you're anything like your dad you're gonna have to drop some big ones."

Gus cleared his throat. "Guys, maybe let's not talk about stuff like that in front of the King and Queen…" he reminded me. He knew they weren't known as the most high class of the kingdoms, but talking about finkle matter in front of King Larry and Queen Camie seemed a bit much.

Twister grunted. "Yeah, sorry about that." Larry and Camie just waved it off. With how much time Hody spent with the brothers, they were used to their more crass ways of doing things by now. Though Camie hoped they reeled it in a bit around the children…

It was still so odd to the twin to see his best friend have a kid. It had been odd with his brother too. Everything was suddenly changing. They were getting older, and before he knew it the next generation would-

"By the way, you know if anything happens to us that you're his guardian, right?" Hody asked.

Twister's eyes widened. "What? Me? Why me?" he asked, confused. "I don't know anything about raising a kid."

"Neither do we, but we're doing it. Besides, who else were we going to pick?"

"Your parents!"

Camie smiled and was about to say something, but Larry glared. "I'm not raising anymore kids." His child rearing time was over and done with.

"Zafira?"

"Twister, that's not funny. I love Zafira, but if you pawn my kid off on her I will crawl my way out of the grave and castrate you," Topaz said warningly.

"Burnicia?"

"That's like one step above Zafira!"

"Well what about your sister dude? She's probably better suited to that than I am?"

Hody scoffed. "Not while she's still with Astro…" He wouldn't have him trying to poison his son's mind and telling him lies about him. "Look, out of everyone we know you're the one we trust the most. It isn't as if anything is going to happen. Just take it as a compliment and go with it."

Twister looked down at the kid, and then sighed. "Fine, whatever…" Between Misty and these guys it was like the universe was trying to force him to have a kid.

Reishi looked down towards him and hummed. "Wow, he's pretty cute… are you sure he's your Hody?" she asked, smirking towards him.

"Screw you…"

Gus leaned down towards Turq and whispered. "Listen to me. When you get younger siblings, don't be like your father or my brothers. Be better. Don't grow up to be terrible. Break the cycle…" he said. Turq looked at him confused.

Reishi patted him on the head. "I'm sure he'll be fine Gus…"

Hody looked over and noticed Gale staring at… Topaz? "Gale. Is there any particular reason you're trying to stare a hole through the mother of my child?"

Gale hummed and rubbed his chin as he looked Topaz up and down. "You know, I don't know if it's because of you being a mother now, but you have a new level of hotness about you. Like you didn't lose that glow from when you were pregnant."

Reishi shook her head. "Wow… just wow…"

"Idiot…" Tor said, narrowing his eyes.

Hody scowled. "You little… you know what, I'm not sure what I expected."

"What? I'm not saying it as an insult. I'm just saying she's got those real child bearing hips now. It's a thing. Like I always thought you mom-"

"Get the hell out of here you!" Larry shouted as he and Hody started after him. Gale quickly dashed off and to get away from the father and son.

"I want one," Wyot said, holding Turq in his arms.

"Absolutely not…" Breeze bluntly.

Topaz laughed as she watched the two stand around her son. Wyot was the first full blooded septarian Turq had seen, and it was clear that his curiosity peaked. He was looking over his scales in awe, and running his hands over his arms. "Aw c'mon, you two have been together for a while now right? I bet you've been going at it," Topaz said deviously. "Wouldn't be surprised if you ended up popping one out."

Breeze looked annoyed and blushed, while Wyot laughed. "Yeah, don't think we're really ready to tackle that right now… don't know when or if we will be really," he said as Turq reached up and grabbed his nose. "I'm pretty good with kids, but it's a whole different thing actually having one."

"You're good with kids because you practically are a big kid," Breeze pointed out. Wyot just smirked before holding Turq out towards her. She looked hesitant, but slowly reached up and took the child. "Hello there… you…"

"Wow, you really aren't good with kids are you?" Topaz asked. It was odd. With how much she pretty much babied Fum she figured she'd be good at something like this.

Breeze stared down at him, and he stared right back. They locked eyes for a moment, and then Breeze turned away blushing. "Adorable little runt…" she muttered under her breath. She never liked showing too much affection towards… anything really. But she had to admit he was cute. Which was odd considering he was half Hody.

"Hey, it's the little man of the hour."

Slick walked over and leaned over Breeze shoulder to meet face to face with the little prince. Bloom wasn't far behind him, and smiled as she approached. "Congratulations again Topaz. You must be overjoyed," she said.

"Damn right I am," Topaz said proudly.

"May I hold him?"

"Sure."

Breeze handed him over towards the Earth nymph, and when he held him, a curiously look came over her face. "Wait, is he…? Oh…" She had thought she felt something odd a while back, but she never would have guessed it was this.

"What's wrong?" Topaz asked.

Bloom laughed nervously. "I-It's nothing. Just shocked at how much he takes after you two. He really is the perfect blend of his parents," she said. Topaz raised an eyebrow. Bloom was not a good liar, at all. She didn't try to be. But she wasn't too worried about it right now.

Slick poked Turq's cheek, and the infant frowned towards him. "Can't believe Hody went and had a little half-breed bastard. Especially not after all the crap he gave Astro," he said amused. Bloom and Breeze both grew wide eyed, elbowing the royal. But he didn't even flinch. "You know, the last half-breed bastard prince ended up being the strongest warrior in mewni. You got big shoes to fill runt."

"He has nothing to prove. He's clearly already the most superior half-breed to ever exist," Hody said as he made his way towards them. The moment he had seen Slick lurking near his son, he made a beeline right over towards him.

Slick laughed. "You think so? Well, maybe you're right… at least until my kid is born anyway," he said putting an arm around Bloom.

The others looked shocked. "Wait, are you two-?!"

"No!" Bloom said quickly. "But… we've been discussing certain things," she said before smiling down at Turq. "And while I still don't think we're quite ready, I have to admit that this little fellow makes quite a convincing argument."

"Reconsider. Having a child and staying with this fool," Hody said. "You could do far better, and we don't need any spawn of his running around."

Slick smiled before leaning back down towards Turq. The boy looked at him skeptically as he spoke. "Be happy little guy. You got a clean slate. A whole future ahead of you. So try to forget your half Hody and don't fuck it up."

"Slick!"

"Unbelievable…"

"Hey, somebody's got to help the kid."

When Hody woke up this morning, he didn't think anybody would be able to ruin his day. But he should have known that if anyone could do it, it would be Astro. The moment that the fool had come near, not only had his son seemed to spring to life, but he practically jumped into his arms. He didn't understand it.

Why him? Why was it that out of all people they knew that he was the one who he seemed drawn to. It defied all reason. "You know, you could at least try and not act like you're not plotting to kill me," Astro said as Turq tugged on his horns.

"I'm fine…" Hody said, still glaring at him.

Topaz tilted her head. "It is pretty weird. I mean it's like as soon as he saw you he got all hyper. What's the deal," she said.

"Maybe it has something to do with his monster side," Amber reasoned.

Astro hummed and lifted Turq up into the air. "You're all overthinking things. He probably just thinks I look funny or something," he said. Turq pried his mouth open, looking at his teeth before grabbing at them. "Stop that, those are sharp. You'll cut yourself," he said grabbing his tiny little hands away.

He had been furious when he found out about the news. For Hody of all people to have a kid out of wedlock pissed him off. But now that he was actually holding the little guy in his arms… well he had to admit, his fury had died down quite a bit. It wasn't like he'd ever held any animosity towards the child, but he felt a kinship with the little guy. Maybe it was because they were in such similar situations.

"Yeah, you are pretty funny looking," Topaz said, smirking.

"I hope he doesn't develop an eye for the ugly," Hody said.

Astro narrowed his eyes. "I'm sleeping with your sister…" Hody glared at him angrily, and he smirked back in response. No matter what clever quip Hody shot towards him, he always had that to fall back on.

"Astro!" Maria said blushing.

"And that my dear nephew, is how you properly insult someone. Consider it a first lesson, from one bastard to another," he said patting him on the head.

Hody growled angrily, but then noticed something. Fum, who had been leaning on the side of the castle and looking through the balcony, was eyeing his son closely. The giant had grown even taller, and no longer had any chance of fitting in the castle anymore.

"Is there any particular reason you're staring at my son like that?" Hody asked, raising an eyebrow. "You do know you're not allowed to eat him, don't you?"

Fum barely spared him a glance before looking back towards Turq. "Captain, don't you think it's weird that he… he's definitely-"

"Adorable. Yes, I know," Astro said, cutting him off. "Hard to believe he's Hody's."

"Why does everyone keep saying that?!" Hody growled angrily.

Maria sighed and reached down, taking her nephew into her arms. "He's only teasing Hody. We can all tell that he's yours. That scowl couldn't belong to anyone else," she said lightly pinching Turq's cheeks. Her nephew was absolutely adorable, and she knew she was going to end up spoiling him as he got older.

"Very funny…" Hody said.

While the others were distracted, Fum learned down towards Astro. "Captain they… they do know that Turq is a Titan, right?" he asked.

"No, and we're not going to tell them," Astro said. "I'm not sure how Hody would react to it. Better for him to find out later when he's a bit more less… him."

Fum hummed. "It's kind of ironic huh? I mean him having a Titan kid?" he said before looking back down towards Turq. "He is really cute though… are we really sure-"

"It's Hody's. As sad as it may be, he spawned something, yes… but ask him again anyway, because it's driving him nuts."

Fum chuckled. "Yeah, it is pretty funny."

Hody smiled as he made his way into Turq's room. The moment he walked inside, a certain shark pup perked up and began circling around them. Snapper barked excitedly as he got ready stand guard over the newest member of the family. He had been looking over the infant as diligently as he had Topaz when she was pregnant.

Even if he was just a room over, it was nice knowing his son was being well looked after even in his sleep. "Good night little prince," Hody said, putting him down in his… wait a second. "This isn't your crib. What the…? Who put this here?"

"I did."

Hody felt his heart leap into his chest as the hulking figure made its way out of the dark corner. Puff, completely covered in his armor as usual, loomed over the father and son. "Holy shit! How long have you been in here?!" Hody asked, panicked. Turq just looked bored. He was getting tired and wanted to rest. And Snapper… Snapper had already scurried out of the room.

"I built that new crib. As a gift," Puff explained pointing down towards it.

Hody wasn't at all able to hide how nervous he was. Puff and he had a very… complicated relationship. One which usually ended in assault. It was part of the reason he tended to avoid the Butterfly castle whenever possible. So to hear he'd brought a gift was rather odd. "Is… is it safe?"

Puff bawled his fist up. "Are you saying something I built isn't safe…?" he asked.

"I'm just making sure you're not planning on assassinating my son via crib just to get back at me," Hody said. "So, is it safe?"

Puff grunted. "It's safe… for him…"

"What the hell does that mean?"

"It means he's fine. He's a baby. But just because I got nothing against him, doesn't mean I still don't have anything against you," he said poking him in the chest. "Remember chum bucket, I'm not finished with you…"

"Good to know…"

Puff began walking out, but then stopped and looked down at Turq, who stared back at him with indifference. "Hm...cute kid… sure he's yours?"

"Damn it!"
