"Videl! Come on! Tell me more!" Erasa poked at Videl for more juicy details from their date the previous night
Videl just blushed hard and held her pillow nervously.
"Come on Erasa! It's embarrassing!"
Erasa however wasn't going to back down for this. She'd been waiting for years for Videl to actually be in a relationship and hear about how she handles it.
"But that's what makes it better to hear!"
"Well...warm...and safe. Comforting." Videl blushed recalling the kiss Gohana and her had the other night.
"Ohhh so cute! I still can't believe you actually have a girlfriend finally!" Erasa squealed.
Videl knew what she meant though! And was blushing while smiling like an idiot. She was also surprised that she even fell for anyone. But now she wouldn't give it up for anything! Being around Gohana she felt so safe and protected. And loved.
"Its just so nice is all!" Videl smiled happily as she hugged her knees to her chest, and the excitement was obvious to Erasa.
Videl had been smiling the entire day after their date last night. Gohana had even flown her home before heading home herself.
"Bet you wished Gohana was here tonight for the sleepover don't ya?"
"Well, you and I planned this just the two of us."
"Hmmm but I dont hear a noooooo." Erasa almost sang that last part, causing Videl to blush hard.
Videl had to get a few moments to breath and quickly got up.
"I'm gonna get some sparkling water, you want some?" She asked getting up, needing a quick break from this, even if just a moment
Erasa took the hint to pull back from the teasing. But still she just giggled a little bit.
"Just the usual if you still have it."
Videl entered the kitchen and went to the fridge. She wasn't sure if the fridge had been restocked. It was usally around this time of the week, but never a static day. Still, she managed to find what she was looking for.
"Late night today, Videl?" May snuck up on her.
Videl nearly jumped and spun around.
"May, don't sneak up on me like that!"
"Aren't you learning how to feel people or something like that?" She asked confused, assuming she could sense everything around her.
"Well yes. But it doesn't quiet work that way. I either have to actively be doing it or they have to have a very powerful ki signiture for me to automatically feel it."
"Oh." was all May responded with.
"Anyway, don't you usually head home by now?" Videl asked?
"Oh yes, I do. But my daughter is staying at a friend's house as well. So I figured I'd finish up some work I was behind on anyway. I'll be headed out myself once Im done but Id rather get ahead of work as well."
"Okay. So who else is here?" Videl asked.
"Just me. Obviously your dad is in his study. Your dad decided to let everyone have the weekend off."
Videl grabbed the bottles and closed the fridge. She didn't even bother getting glasses because they would just drink it from the bottle anyway.
"Okay, Well then I'll see you tomorrow then." Videl said.
"Same to you Videl. Sorry for sneaking up on you like that as well."
Videl just nodded and headed back to her room. Handing Erasa her drink, they both opened theirs.
"Cheers, to us finally being part of a couple!" Erasa held out her bottle, Videl looking a bit confused.
"Come on Erasa, its not that big of a celebration." Videl said a but nervously.
"Juat humor me V."
Videl just sighed and smiled, gently tapping her bottle against Erasas before they both took a hug gulp of their drinks.
For the next hour or so, the both of them just played games and talked about their new relationships, without their significant other present. Though it was a bit more Erasa talking, Videl did talk about her and Gohana. at least the not so private stuff. Only the same level Erasa talked about her and Sharpner.
"Ha, full house!" Videl put down her cards.
"Ah man, I thought for sure I'd win with my flush." Erasa put her cards down as Videl grabbed the chips and added them to her pile.
Though they weren't playing for actual money, whoever had the least had to foot the tab for the lunch date the entire gang had tomorrow, all five of them.
"You're still way ahead of me, so shush!" Videl shot back at her as she grabbed the cards and started shuffling them.
"Yeah, yeah, now deal it out missy!"
A light knock on the door made both of them lightly jump, as Videl got up and opened the door.
"Oh. hey dad, whats up"
"Well I was headed downstairs to make a small snack and I heard you two were still up. Would you girls like something to eat?"
"Would it be too much trouble for a simple grilled cheese sandwhich?" Erasa asked having heard him.
"Not at all Erasa, what about you sweet pea?"
"Yeah, that sounds really good right now." Videl smiled.
"Alright, well I'll bring it up when they're done then. You two have fun. And let me know who wins the nights poker match."
"Im kicking your daughters ass!" Erasa happily exclaimed, getting a slight chuckle from both Hercule and Videl.
Videl returned next to her bed and took a swig of her drink, and started dealing out the cards.
"And thats about to change!"
A few minutes later a sudden loud noise caugh both of their attention. More so specifically because it didn't fit with the usual noise. Videl and Erasa both got up to go check, but as soon as Videl opened the door they both jumped as they heard a gun shot.
Erasa shrieked in fear and Videl, while she did jump in surprise, was suddenly on edge and alert.
"Shit whats going on?" Videl asked as she heard even more gunfire.
"Oh God, Videl what should I do?" Erasa was scared and immediately knew to trust Videls instincts, clinging to her.
Should she have Erasa hide? Stay with her? Who knows whats happening! Reaching out, Videl felt several dozen people suddenly entering the house. She had to get Erasa out!
Taking Erasa by the wrist, she started moving them both quickly down the hall trying to be as quiet as possible. A machine gun went off and Erasa couldn't help but scream in surprise. they could hear someone else screaming in pain as well!
'May!' Videl thought she recognized the voice as Erasa screamed as she held onto her.
"You, check upstairs! I heard someone."
Erasa clung harder onto Videl, Videl able to get them quickly close to the stairs but had Erasa hide behind a plant next to the half pillar, Videl hiding behind the other. Erasa was able to remain as silent as she needed to be but it was insanely hard as she covered her mouth with her hands.
The moment Videl saw the three she sensed coming upstairs, she quickly appeared between all three of them. Pushing one of them back over the rail, he fell from the fifth floor to the ground below. The other two Videl managed to take them out each in rapid succession. She slammed one hard in his stomach while she pulled the same arm back, smashing her elbow into the other, sending them both flying down opposite hallways. Videl would normally pull her punches, but right now? No!
To Erasa it just looked like Videl suddenly appeared in the middle and all three men went flying away at the same time in different directions.
'She can move like Gohana now?' Erasa felt a wave of extra safety from seeing this, but she was still terrified.
Reaching around, Videl grabbed Erasa's hand and as she was about to go down the stairs, she could hear many more quickly rushing upstairs. Fuck! They must have seen the one she flung over the rail.
Half a dozen men quickly arrived at the stairway and looked around, not seeing them. They saw two of their guys at opposite halls and a few ran towards them. They noticed quickly one was dead, his head looked caved in and dark black blood was seeping out of his skull. The other one just looked in extreme pain. But they didnt see them.
"Where the hell did they go?"
Erasa watched in horror from above with her hand covering her mouth so she wouldn't be too loud. Videl held her against her tightly as she was pressing them hard against the ceiling, preying they didn't look up. She couldn't fully see as her back was towards the floor, making sure Erasa was between her and the ceiling. She didnt know how to move quickly without causing damage to Erasa, if she had to dodge bullets, she wasnt sure if the momentum would hurt Erasa. All of them quickly left the head of the stairwell, And Videl noticed she couldn't just fly down in the lobby either as there were many there! She would have to get out somehow.
Quickly landing oat the top of the stairs, Videl quickly went down to the third floor. Setting Erasa down once they were on stable flooring, She grabbed her hand and was about to head down the stairs when she quickly stopped and ran them towards the nearby door she noticed was already open. She quickly and quietly got them in the door as several more came rushing up the stairs.
"God damn it, Check upstairs! You two down that hall. You, on me! You see that bitch you shoot her in the fucking legs!"
They all split apart as instructed. Videl quickly pulled herself and Erasa back against the wall as the door flung open! Erasa barley managed to not shriek as the door almost slammed into them as they two men entered the room.
"Clear!"
They left and when Videl let out her held breath, Erasa did the same. She looked up and saw how weirdly calm Videl looked, though pissed. She didnt know exactly how Videl knew where to move but assumed she was just reading their ki.
"What do we do?" Erasa whispered.
Videl had to think. It was clear they were after her. But who else was here tonight? Obviously besides the both of them, her dad, and was May still here? Of course, she heard that scream before.
"Erasa, we need to get to my dad and May!" Videl tried to be as quiet as she could while still talking to Erasa, getting a nod from her.
May must have been shot! Shit, she needed to get a senzu bean just in case! But they were in her training room!
"Erasa, I need you to stay right here for a moment okay? I'll be right back."
Erasa looked horrified, and Videl knew it.
"They already cleared this room, and I need to get Senzu beans incase anyone gets hurt, but they're in the gym."
The gym was on the bottom floor.
Erasa just shook her head as tears flew down her face.
"Dont leave me here Videl. I dont feel-"
Videl quickly covered her mouth and put a finger over her lips, hearing the men run past her shouting. Erasa managing to stay quiet.
When Videl felt they were safe, she took her hand off.
"I cant guarantee you wont get hurt if you come with me." She tried reasoning.
"You cant either if you leave me here!" Erasa kept her voice low.
Videl knew she was right. If it was Gohana she could probably move from one part of the house to the other fast enough, but she didnt know is she was that fast yet. Fuck, she was right.
"Okay, stay low. I may shove you."
Noding and grabbing Videls wrist, they quickly made their way down the stairs. Videl saw two men at the bottom, but they hadn't noticed her yet. Videl vanished and quickly reappeared behind them as she slammed her fist into the back of their necks. This caused them to quickly fall and discharge their weapons.
"Fuck!"
Videl quickly appeared next to Erasa again and grabbed her wrist.
"Run!"
Erasa and Videl quickly made it to the second flooor, but hearing people coming after them from all directions, Erasa was frozen what to do.
Videl quickly moved Erasa out of the center of the walkway to the wall, as she shot three ki blasts towards the men coming down one hallway. All three hit and Videl barely dodged a bullet they shot at her. Looked behind she saw two more coming after her. Videl quickly vanished and appeared in front of them to their shock.
Videl quickly dodged another shot fired at her point blank and got between them. She grabbed the one who hadn't shot yet and spun his wrist, snapping it instantly. He fell to the ground and Videl then quickly ducked to dodge a wide swing at her. Another bullet whizzed past Videl along with a few ki blasts from behind her. Videl looked in horror, but glad they hadn't noticed Erasa just five feet behind them!
Videl quickly grabbed the one next to her still and slammed him against the wall. Dropping him, Videl sprinted as fast as she could towards them and systematically taking them out one at a time. Videl didn't hold back, and right now didn't care if they were injurued, knocked out, or worse. She had to make sure Erasa, May, and her dad get out of this unscathed. Erasa looked in horror, she could easily tell some of them were dead, and others just knocked out. But she was doing her best not to scream. But she was letting out some whimpers as Videl suddenmy sighed having taken them all out.
Videl's heart sank when she heard her father. He was fighting them off! Fuck he may be a skilled fighter, but they had guns, and they could use ki! He was on the next floor below, and Videl quickly could guess many would be rushing towards him. Videl and Erasa quickly made the short sprint the the next set of stairs and went down.
Videl could clearly see down the hall her father fighting off numerous people. Most seemed to have their guns just hanging around their torso as they were seemingly trying to fight him in hand to hand combat. Videl needed to do something quick, she could easily take them out with a simple Kamehameha or masenko, but she'd hit her dad!
Hercule seemed to be doing really well though dispite the odds against him. He grabbed the two that were trying to punch him at the moment and was able to slam them against each other. This quickly took them out. As another kne came at him woth a wkde swong, Hercule dodged as he grabbed the man and threw him againat the wall behind him.
Another one tried to get in a surprise kick but Hercule looked over and just ducked. He slammed his fist as hard as he could into his groin, the man was basically out. Hercule glared at the rest but then noticed and dropped his guard.
"Videl!"
He was distracted, and one of them shot a ki blast through his stomach, causing Hercule to scream put in pain as he quickly fell to the ground. His scream of pain echoing through the house.
"DAD!"
Videl's ki suddenly surged around her as she screamed at the top of her lungs, golden energy quickly forming at her hands over her head. Everyone quickly noticed her and tried grabbing their gun or ready a ki blast as fast as they could.
"Fuck you!" Videl shot her hands forward, letting her masenko blast surge forward.
Videl didn't hold back, as she aimed it slightly upwards so she had no shot in hell hitting her dad. Erasa covered her face from the sudden gust, hiding behind Videl, while Hercule instinctually ducked closer to the floor as the beam shot over him.
When Videl stopped the beam and her aura stopped, she quickly grabbed Erasa and ran to her dad. Everything the beam touched was destroyed. The wall behind them was blasted open, and Erasa was suddey throwing up at seeing what was left of them. Almost all of them had been hit above the waist, a few a bit higher that tried and failed to duck, just what didnt get hit by the blast was left.
"Dad are you okay?" Videl was nearly screaming.
Hercule struggled to get up, the pain was immense. Luckily the blast missed his spine so he could still move, but the pain was nothing like anything experienced before. And what Videl had just done didn't escape him either.
"Videl, you..."
"Lets get out of here first! You can scold me later" She helped him up. as he knew this wasnt the time to start an argument.
Going over, Videl grabbed Erasa who was still throwing up, and the three of them quickly tried making their was to the alternate set of stairs. Dispite getting shot, Hercule had so much adrenaline running through him he was able to keep up with them well enough dispite the pain.
About to round a blind corner, Videl could feel a few people around the corner. Quickly rounding the corner to take them out, Videl immediately jumped back and held back Erasa and her dad against the pillar as bullets flew past them.
"Fuck, they're patrolling ready to shoot now"
She looked over, Erasa terrified look, and her father? Well he was terrified as well, but more so for her than himself.
"Dad, we need to get downstairs to the gym!"
Hercule just winced in pain as he held onto his wound, not going to argue right now. Why the hell would she need to get to the gym of all places right now?
"How can I help?" he asked.
"Just dont die." Videl let her energy surge again and quickly vanished from his sight. They both heard gunshots and screams from around the corner. A few screams and more gunshots later, they only heard Videl's aura as she came back around the corner.
They could hear so many people in the house, how many were there? Luckily they managed to get to the ground level. This stairwell was also close to the gym, Videl could get her dad a senzu, and one for May. Assuming she was still alive.
Videl clanced down and didnt see anyone down the hall. Perfect, they had a straight shot to where she needed to go. They made their way as quickly and quietly as they could. Hercule still confused as to why, but it was clear she knew what she was doing. He trusted her.
Quietly opening the door, Videl noticed noone else was inside. She quickly got them both in and ran to where she kept them. She only had them for emergency during training. She quickly opened the box that contained it and saw she still had two left Gohana gave her.
Fuck, she lost track and was hoping there was more! She at least needed one for May and her dad right now. But what about later? Right now Videl couldn't think about it! She put them in her pocket and turned around and froze.
"Yeah, fucking get on the ground."
Videl hasnt noticed they were followed, and he held Erasa at gunpoint. Fuck, if she got shot in the head, a senzu wouldnt fix that!
He let Erasa go but kept the gun against her head and grabbed his radio.
"First floor southside. Some giant home gym." He put the radio back.
"Just let then go!" Videl tried to reason with him.
Erasa was just whimpering and crying, Hercule unable to do anything and he knew it as well.
A gunshot rang out and Erasa screamed, but quickly was shoved forward by the now lifeless body of the man who had found them. Erasa stumbled forward and Videl saw what happened.
"May!"
Videl quickly ran to her as she struggled to stand and enter the room but she managed to somehow stumble halfway to them. She has several bullet wounds along her torso. Videl managed to catch her. Fuck would senzu beans heal bulletwounds? What if they were still stuck inside her?
Videl knelt down and helped May stay upright, noticing four entry wounds. Looking behind her torso she saw four exit wounds.
"Sorry, some security pannel huh? But I managed to call the cops." May looked pale.
"May." Hercule made his way over to her as well, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Will get out of here." he tried to reasssure her.
"*cough* Dont lie to me Mark. I know I wont make it. But you guys have to make it out."
Videl quickly gave May to Hercule to help hold her up. She quickly grabbed the box of senzu and took one out.
"May, eat this!" She shouted.
She looked at the bean and couldnt help but laugh, before starting to cough.
"The situation cause you to lose your mind Videl?" she tried joking.
"If you want to see your daighter again then eat it before its to late! Just trust me!"
May could tell even in her dazed state how serious Videl was. This wasnt like Videl to make jokes, especially in such a bad position. She opened her mouth and Videl put it in her mouth. Chewing the bean up, she weakly swallowed it.
Within two seconds of swallowing it, May shot upright, her face no longer pale. Hercule looked just as shocked as her. Reaching down, May felt for the shot wounds that no longer hurt and only felt the blood soaked shirt. The bullet holes were gone! And even the pain!
"What the hell was that?" May asked in shock.
"I'll explain later but now we gotta get out of here!" Videl helped her and her dad up.
"Dad, lets get out of here! I only have one of those left and i need to save it God forbid!."
Hercule didnt fully understand what it was, but he could understand what she was getting at. May was about to die any moment, and now she isn't. As much as he wished the pain to go away, he trusted her, she needed to save that for a re emergency.
They all stood up and quickly bolted for the door before a few people stormed inside aiming at them. They were all frozen, and Videl knew she couldnt take them all out and keep everyone safe. What should she do?
"Dont fucking move Videl, or we blow their brains out!"
So they were specifically after her! Of all nights almost noone was here, this was the night.
One of them went over and handcuffed them all. Videl didn't know what to do, but knew they stood a better chance if she didnt attack. It was abundantly clear it was her they wanted.
They were quickly led to the main hall. Videl used this time to sense how many people were left in the mansion. She could only sense six more total. Okay, maybe she could think of something to get them all out. But she couldnt be rash, she had to be smart about this.
They made it there and Videl realized everyone else alive was now in this room. They saw someone at the fireplace, having lit it. Why would anyone do that while raiding a house?
"You have no idea how long I've waited for this." he said, Videl somehow recognizing the voice. But his back was to them so she couldn't see his face. But she noticed her dad was trembling, with anger and fear.
"Wh-what do you want this time!" Mark asked, recognizing that voice!
"Oh, so you thought you were done with us just because you paid us back all those years ago?" He said and turned around.
Videl's eyes widened, what was Jake's father doing here?
"Oh you paid us back what you thought you owed us. But you see-" he started walking towards him. "We've mearly been waiting."
He punched Hercule right where he got shot with the ki blast earlier, Hercule screaming in pain as he fell to the floor.
"Leave him alone!" Videl screamed angrily at him.
"Ah so spunky, like your mother." he said.
This caught Videl off guard! How did he know her mother? What the hell was going on?
"Oh so you know what happened? Surprised you would still remember that being you were what, four?"
"I paid you bastards back every cent plus the interest. Why are you suddenly back?"
"You paid us back the money, but there's a little thing you didn't factor in, and that's the reputation we have to uphold. And you ruined that. And this little one has spent the last two years only making it worse." He looked over at Videl.
Videl had been interfering with them?
"We planned on waiting a bit longer. You know to maximally punish you more Mark." he nudged his head.
One of the guys came back up and undid all of their handcuffs. What the hell was happening?
Videl was confused, why was Jake's dad involved with this? And how did he know her dad and mom and what...It hit her, he was the leader of the group trying to kill her! She knew he was dangerous, not this dangerous.
"We just can't put it off anymore." he shruged as the others just left.
'What the hell is happening?' Videl thought.
"So, seeing as we already planned to do so in the future, and we had to take care of this little pest as soon as possible. Why not do it with you present right now instead of shipping her body parts back to you."
He pulled out a sawed off shotgun and aimed it right at Videl only a few inches from the end of the barrel, Hercule starting to panic!
"No, stop please! Why are you doing this! Take me, just let her go! Please dont hurt her!" Mark was crying.
"This is about punishing you just as much as her."
He pulled the trigger and Videl fell backwards against the wall hard. Hercule and Erasa screamed in horror as he turned to leave. He wanted only to kill Videl, and finally take care of the one putting all his men in prison. The Black Hand would finally be able do their buisiness as they pleased again after a little time to bounce back. He barely had time to register being grabbed by his suit collar and pulled backwards, just barely though.
"Grew a spine did you you fucki--" He turned to beat whoever tried to retaliate assuming it was the injured Mark, but was speechless when he saw Videl glarring at him. She slammed her ki covered fist into his face putting him on the ground.
'Fuck! Being shot fucking hurts!'
Everyone looked in horror and surprise at Videl still standing there after being shot in the chest. But she wasnt even bleeding! The shirt had bullet holes all over her torso, but it's like she wasn't even shot! But the anger was clear on her face as it looked like she was hyperventilating with rage!
"You ordered my mom's death!?" Videl picked him back up and slammed her fist into his chest, causing him to slam back into the floor hard.
"You endangered my friends and family!" She picked him back up and hit him again, harder!
"You're the reason I almost died weeks ago!" Shotting a ki blast through his shoulder as he was on the ground as he screamed in pain, clutching his shoulder.
Hercule watched in horror at what Videl was doing in front of him. He had never seen her like this! He watched as she held her hands out cupped at him as a blue ball of ki formed in her hands.
"Give me one good reason I shouldn't kill you!?" Videl screamed as loud as she could through her crying! She was tearing up, the ki blast getting louder as she charged it.
"Videl, sweet pea please dont!" Hercule screamed out.
She didn't lower her hands or the ki blast. She was just crying.
"He killed mom! He's been trying to kill me and almost succeeded! He could have killed you and Erasa and May! He'll just try it again! Why should I let him live!?" Videl was screaming as she was crying profusely, still aiming at him.
"Because, you're not him!" Hercule pleaded with her.
Videl just cried as she kept aiming, but she couldnt bring herelf to do it! No, she wasnt like him! Videl could sense the men who had left about to round the corner. Shifting her aim at where they would round the corner, she let her Kamehameha wave go, not caring the damage it did to the house!
"You're fucking dead if you round that corner!" She screamed at the top of her lungs, her ki surging around her again with a crackling noice.
May quickly went and grabbed the discarded shotgun and aimed at the entryway, but it was obvious they were running away from them. She circled around the corner and quickly looked out while aiming.
"They're fleeing." she told them, the police lights starting to become visible in the house through the wndows.
Videl fell to her knees crying, as Hercule came up to her and held her close as Videl just cried. Videl didn't hold anything back as she just let everything out, Hercule just holding her close to him and rocked her back and forth.
"Its okay baby girl, I'm here! Im here baby girl, It's alright."
May kept point on the entryway incase they came back, as Erasa finally broke down herself.
May was talking with the police, finishing up her statement on what happened. Hercule was receiving medical attention due to the blood on their shirt, but he was also totally fine thanks to the senzu bean so they were at a total lose. Erasa was curled up in Sharpenrs arms as well. He could feel Videl's ki and was already on edge, but after recieving Erasa's message he had arrived withing just a few minutes. The hazmat team had been called in due to how many bodies were there and had to be removed. Luckily none of them were asking questions.
Videl still sat on the table, she hadn't stopped crying. Though she was crying less. She couldn't really answer questions either other than just simply nodding yes or no. But luckily they weren't pushing too hard. John came up to her and sat down.
"Videl, you going to be okay?" he asked as she had a far off look on her face.
Videl just nodded.
John immediately could tell she just couldnt be of much help tonigh, and he didnt blame her one bit. He knew the situation as well, them targetting her for a while. And to target her at her own home? He had ordered no-one else to come in or out. He had worked with Videl long enough to know when to not push it. And he even had order the paparazzi to either leave or be detained on the spot.
"Sir there's a Gohana out front trying to come in?" his heard over his radio.
John immediately noticed the shift in Videl at hearing her name, and of course he knew Gohana as well.
"Let her in please." he ordered, having picked up Videl needing to see her.
It took only a few moments before Gohana nearly came skidding into the room and saw Videl. Videl immediately saw her and ran to her without missing a beat.
Videl started crying again in Gohana's arms. Gohana didn't know what happened, all she knew was she felt Videl's ki spike numerous times and she was in danger, and she literally dropped her dinner and just flew off without a word. Seeing the emergency vehicles outside only made her nearly panic when she landed.
Gohana didn't let Videl go, and Videl wouldn't let her anyway. Mark saw Gohana and went over to her. He didnt know exactly what to say, but he knew that if Gohana hadn't been training Videl, she would have died in front of him tonight.
"Gohana, thank you."
Gohana just nodded, not knowing exactly what he was thanking her for but she didnt care. She only cared that Videl was safe. She could find out later what happened as she held onto Videl tightly, and she wouldn't leave her side tonight.
Gohana sat at the head of the bed, softly rubbing Videls arm woth her hand as Videl was asleep curled up in her lap. Videl, and even Erasa, did not want to be away from Gohana. Videl, Hercule understood that as they were dating. But he wasnt sure why Erasa felt the same. But he also didn't care and could make a very educated guess. Nore did he even ask. While their house was being cleaned from the carnage and repaired, Hercule got everyone set up at a local hotel. He didn't even question Sharpenr and Gohana staying together with Videl and Erasa, he was actually glad about that. He booked a room for the four of them, and got his own room to give them some privacy.
While he didn't want to be away from Videl after what had just happened, he understood better that Videl couldn't be away from Gohana. Damn his own feelings right now, his daughters were more important.
May had come with them to fill in both Sharpenr and Gohana as to what happened. Both were in shock, and Gohana had to actively surpess her body from instinctually going Super Saiyan 2 from pure anger. But she managed it. They had even informed their families they wouldn't be back home tonight. Though they didnt really give details.
With Erasa asleep curled against Sharpener in one bed, and Videl asleep on Gohana in the other, Sharpener and Gohana just sat talking as quietly as they could. They couldn't handle the silence too well. Mosy because it kept bringing up too mamy what if's.
"I guess even I owe you a thanks." Sharpener finally said to Gohana.
Gohana looked over confused at him.
"Well, Erasa's alive because Videl could protect her. And Videl could only protect them because of the extra training youve been putting her through."
Gohana understood where his thought process was going. She indirectly saved Erasa by making Videl able to do so.
"You don't have to thank me for that." She kept softly rubbing her thumb along Videl's arm.
"I know, but still. Thank you. And I think after the tournament next weekend, I want you to train me more like you train Videl so I can keep Erasa safe." he said rather flatly.
Gohana could tell this shook him pretty hard, and she understood the feeling. Looking over at Erasa who was practically glued to him, and just nodded.
"Yeah, sounds good. I can even have you train sometimes with Goten and Raina."
"Hey, I said you! Lord knows what those two will put me through, Ive heard horror stories from Lime!" he lightly chuckled at her.
Gohana lightly laughed at that remembering the absolutely crazy stuff Goten, Raina and Trunks put Lime through. Until Gohana scolded them about it that is.
"They mean well." She defended them.
"Yeah, I know." he held onto Erasa as he just layed down staring at the ceiling.
"So, can I ask you something?" he started.
"Huh? Sure, what is it?"
"What initially attracted you to Videl?" he asked, Gohana blushing.
"Well, I only know when I first realized it. But her selflessness, her drive, her wanting to help others. That was a big part of it. Add to that i just liked hanging out with her and felt happy around her. " Gohana smiled and softly stroked Videl's hair.
"I don't know what I would have done if tonight she..." Gohana couldn't even bring herself to even finish that verbal though. And Sharpener picked up on it.
"I hear ya man." he responded, Gohana knowing what he was saying.
"So, how come now do you want me to train you more?"
"I realized when i found out I almost could have lost her tonight, I need to do more to protect her if Im going to..." He stopped.
Gohana noticed this pause and looked over at him, noticing he was blushing.
"If you're going to what?" she asked.
"If im going to marry her." he finished a bit lower in tone.
"Huh, really? Have you two actually talked about that?" Gohana asked.
"Well sorta. Not officially since we started dating. But we've teased around what if we got married for years now. We have known each other since we were like five."
"Can I ask?" Gohana got curious.
Sharpner juat boushed a little bit and chuckled.
"Well, I would be a world famous martial arts instructor, teaching kids. Including ours of course. Two actually." he laughed a little, even though it was mostly Erasa who had teased that part, he always liked it. and he knew Erasa thought so.
"So, you're set on proposing then? When?"
"Bare minimum after we graduate high school, But also i want to make a name for myself. Or at least be able to support us. I already have a leg up on that since Mark trained me so that can help with opportunities."
"Not to mention me now." Gohana teased.
"Yeah, you're right. Will definitely help. Um, what about you two?"
"Huh, what about us?" Gohana asked.
"You know, do you think you two will...you know, get married?"
Gohana blushed beat red at that but didnt flinch, she didnt want to wake Videl up. Gohana hadnt really given that much thought. Though she thought about it, and honestly every answer she came to all led to the same thing.
"I'd like that!" Gohana smiled.
"Great, then its settled, you can be my best man at our wedding then!" Sharpener teased Gohana.
"What, you're kidding right?" Gohana laughed a bit, thinking he was teasing.
"Haha, maybe. I dont know. Just...I know this is now the second time Videl, well had a scare moment so I cant imagine how that feels. But after feeling that tonight. It makes you think about your future with that person, ya know?"
Gohana knew what he was talking about, and looked down at Videl. Would they marry? Now that Sharpener had asked her about it, Gohana couldn't imagine anyone else. It helped everything Gohana would have wanted in someone, well she has it all and more in Videl.
'I hope she will say yes." Gohana smiled.
