"You look nice today."

Breeze's eyes narrowed as she stared down at the ground. There he went again. She had no idea why Wyot did this. It was true that she had agreed to go along with this charade to anger her brothers, but she thought he was starting to push it a little. It was one thing when he did it in front of them. That was the point of all this.

And when he did it in front of their friends, it was embarrassing, but tolerable. He was a goofball, so of course he would make a joke out of it. The payoff of Astro and Slick snickering at her expression was probably too much for him to resist.

But when they were alone… what was the point? Did he just enjoy flustering her? Was he trying to gain something by getting on her good side?

"Stop it," she said annoyed.

The septarian looked down at her confused. The two were sitting up against the newly built fence around the border of the septarian kingdom, courtesy of Queen Star who had sent some of her finest builders to help ward off some of the local raiders and monster haters. After a hard day of training, they had sat back and decided to enjoy lunch.

"Stop what?" he asked.

She looked up at him annoyed. "Don't play stupid. I mean stop patronizing me."

He tilted his head. "Uh… I'm not sure what you're talking about."

She raised her fists, and he flinched as she stopped just an inch away from his chin. "I mean it. Stop throwing out those childish little compliments. I don't know what it is you're playing at, but it stops, now," she said dangerously.

Wyot held his hands up. "All I said was you look nice!"

"You're kissing up to me…"

"I just thought you looked nice!" Being around Breeze really was like walking in a minefield sometimes. He had such a hard time reading her. Most times she was serious and stone faced, but then other times the tiniest thing would set her off. Then there were those rare times that she would actually smile and laugh. Those were far and few in between. "What's with you?"

Breeze turned away and scowled, though he could spot just the barest hint of a blush on her face. "Listen, I don't care if you want to show off in front of my brothers, or even the others. But when we're alone there's no need to carry on this foolish act," she said.

Wyot frowned. "Look, I thought you looked nice, and I said it. It wasn't me trying to put on some act or earn brownie points. Seriously, you act like you've never gotten a genuine compliment before," he said crossing his arms.

The princess grunted. "Oh shut up… the Johansen's aren't exactly known for being the easiest people to deal with. Compliments come far and few in between…" she muttered. Outside of the kingdom and the guard, people didn't tend to linger around her. It was her own fault she knew. She wasn't social, and didn't want to be. None of her siblings did. Well, except for Gus anyway, who everyone seemed to love.

Wyot looked skeptical. "Ah c'mon. You gotta be exaggerating. I've seen way meaner and uglier people get complimented for their looks. Plus you're a princess."

The blonde glared. "And?"

"And beautiful looking princesses get compliments. Hell, Amber gets compliments and half of mewni doesn't even consider her a princess yet," he explained. "Pretty people get it easier most times, so stop acting so shocked by it."

Breeze once again felt her cheeks heating up. "I'm not…" Pretty wasn't something she really heard about herself. She'd heard her father call her that sometimes, but she was his daughter. Of course he would think his little girl was beautiful. And her brothers… they never referred to her as pretty unless it had been in a mocking way.

The boys around her age had been terrified of her, so pretty was most likely the last thing that came to mind. Not that she actually cared about what others thought of her. She preferred respect over admiration or infatuation anyday. But hearing someone refer to her as pretty simply caught her off guard.

"Are you blushing?" Wyot asked, smirking.

"No, shut up," she said, turning away.

"Oh my gosh, you are!" he said laughing. "You really aren't used to being called pretty? Or are you just that shy about it?" he asked amused. "I never took you for someone to get embarrassed over that sort of thing."

"I'm not embarrassed!" she snapped.

Wyot rubbed his chin. "You know, it's kind of nice seeing you be girly for once. Usually your go to is just straight up punching-" Breeze suddenly tackled him, knocking him to the ground before raising her fist into the air. Wyot covered his face, and she smirked down at him.

"Do I still seem girly to you?" she asked.

"Which answer is gonna keep you from punching me…?"

Breeze hummed. "Don't be so cowardly. I wasn't really going to hit you. This is just a lesson not to let your guard down. Or to push you luck with me," she said.

Wyot relaxed, letting out a sigh. He'd seen Breeze beat up people for less, so he had been kind of worried for a second. "You know, I'm not trying to make fun of you or anything. I really do mean it," he said.

"I know," she said. Sometimes she forgot how stupidly simple he was. There was no way he had some ulterior motive behind him. He was about as threatening as a newly hatched eagle.

"You gonna let me up now?"

"No. Knock me off. Show me your training hasn't been a complete waste."

"You know if you want to sit on me that bad, you can just-"

"If you can't do it within three minutes, I'll be breaking your arm."

"Oh shit! No wait, I was just joking!"

"Two minutes and fifty seconds…"

A/N: Some Breeze and Wyot content! I don't know why, but I really liked the dynamic between these two. Wyot being a laid back dude he is kind of throws her for a loop. She's really not used to guys who aren't completely afraid/intimidated by her.
