Jennifer/Beth's Audio Diary Log
April 15, 2621
(Jenny) Finally I'm able to get around to doing another one of these.
(Beth) Thank you for including me ,Jenny.
(Jenny) Don't mention it ,Beth. Truth be told I didn't think you'd want to do one of these. So, thank you really for helping me do this.
(Beth) Your welcome ,sister. So what shall we be discussing.
(Jenny) I don't really know ,sis. I mean we don't have any early stories that are to important, just a few moments here and there.
(Beth) What about the progress we made over the past years? You know before...
(Jenny) Truth be told ,Beth, I really don't believe we made any progress in the experiments we did. Don't get me wrong I know we made some progress with them, but how much of it actually helped repel the threat, when Dad just used it to make it worse. I mean he lied to us all the time, he told us we were making a difference helping humanity, and although we had good intentions, and wanted to help fight the threat of the xenomorphs, he just used us. I'm not saying he didn't love us, but much do we know, even after he died.
(Beth) You have a point there ,Jenny. But can't we at least go over a few things. Like at least how we made Agent-X, or what we've found from Father's documents so far.
(Jenny) Well after Daddy's death, we were informed on the location of all those other secret research bases, and security facilities, and the experiments that went in them. Xenomorph behavioral testing, hybridization, learning capabilities, and combat effectivity. All of that wasn't really all that bad, but when we looked deeper into them ewh!
They were using human test subjects to attain these results. I mean that was just the most fcked thing to see! I mean Merciful Master Jesus! They literally took people from the colonies ,innocent people, and just tossed them in these hives they housed the xenomorphs in underneath the facilities! For clarification there is a law that actually allows us to use humans for experimentation, but that's only for people with high criminal records, people convicted of murder, rape, child molestation, things like that. But Daddy just didn't care. The only things he cared about were us and his monsters. Not even the Task Force cared. They were supposed to protect us keep us safe from the xenomorphs, and enforce the law to keep us safe from ourselves. But no. All this time we were kept in the dark thinking we and everybody else was safe and happy, while the Task Force just did whatever their corrupt minds allowed. Daddy knew about this, but he didn't punish them. So long as no one knew what he was really up to, and that he had more test subjects and hosts for the xenomorphs, what did he care?!
(Beth) Yeah, and lets not forget the Ovamorph (Xenomorph egg) specimen trades with those other corporations. We discovered those corporations were doing the same things Father was doing; and some others were doing worse. He made a law concerning this making it illegal. Of course those laws were just lies meant to keep us in the dark. They just made us think we were safe when we weren't. I know I'm an artificial person (a "more polite" definition for an android) but even I was shaken when I found out about this, and the releases! Oh God! The releases!
(Jenny) Good Lord... Dad and some of the higher ups thought that some of our tests would show better results if we turned some of the xenomorph specimens loose on some of the lesser populated colonies. They'd sabotage the colonies' communications, disable most of their security measures, and withdraw most of our Task Force from those areas, keeping just enough of them there to get an accurate test. And we thought throwing colonists to xenomorphs was horrible, our releases were much much worse. That's like throwing a hungry pack of wolves into a pen full of unprotected sheep. God those were all so horrible! It didn't help that there were pictures taken to give us visuals of the carnage that played out.
(Beth) And every time something about his secret operations managed to slip through the cracks, he always conjured up some lie that we just bought like sheep.
(Jenny) You know it's one thing to find out that your father isn't the man you thought he was, and that he's done some bad things, but finding out he's a mass murderer of hundreds of millions of people, that's... th-that's just... that's just so fked up it makes you want to just want to pull the trigger on yourself! Even after I found out about Daddy's true self... I-I-I just never would have thought he was such an evil human being! Now I'm not sure if he really ever was a human. I'm sorry about this ,sis.
(Beth) You're fine ,Jennifer. It's exactly as you put it. We were both played like fools. Almost everyone on this planet was. I mean look at the colonists, and the media outlets. Even they, the ones who were suppose to be informing us of what was going on were ignorant of the truth. All of us didn't see it, and even when the truth was starring at us right in the face. Seriously why should you be sorry?
(Jenny) Well, you are right that I shouldn't be sorry to you. But I do think we should be sorry for not seeing this sooner.
(Beth) You are right about that ,Jenny. I can't argue with you on that. But let's also be thankful that there were people who helped prevent it from getting worse.
(Jenny) We owe those people our lives ,sis. The marines, all their friends, and family who sacrificed the same thing they did. We owe them a debt we can never repay. And I feel disappointed in myself that there is little I can do about it.
(Beth) We're doing all we can ,Jenny. But look at it this way. We weren't like Dad and all those other evil people who worked with him. We did what we thought was good. We didn't mean for this to happen. While there is some responsibility we should be taking, most if not all of this is on Father.
(Jenny) Sorry just one of those moments.
(Beth) Did you take your medication today?
(Jenny) Oh, thank you for reminding me. I almost completely forgot my A.D.D. medication.
(Beth) If you keep that up you're going to loose your head.
(Jenny) Don't jinx me ,Beth. After what I've been through and after everything you and I both have seen, we're lucky we haven't lost both our heads.
(Beth) You're right. Sorry ,Jenny.
(Jenny) No you're alright ,Beth. I'm just... Let's talk about something else. Something that's to the point, but less gory.
(Beth) What about how we became part of Father's science division, how we made Agent-X, or how we became Research Directors of this facility. You know I already know, about that, as does everyone else on this planet, but for the sake of those who don't know or may forget.
(Jenny) Okay ,Beth. So I didn't actually become Research Director until I was 17 years old. We began working in Dad's labs when we was 14, after we finished our master's degrees on Xenology and Biochemistry. We did pretty well together, and after making a few discoveries with some of our plant specimens we began working on making a chemical weapon that could paralyze a xenomorph's nervous system, without causing any effects to humans, allowing us to control outbreaks more easily.
(Beth) We called it Agent-X. We worked on it for two years before we came up with a success by combining medication produced from a zwallive plant, with compounds from a perkuide bush, and pheromones samples from the xenomorph queen's royal jelly.
(Jenny) Yep, that's how we did it. Do you remember the celebration Dad gave when we came through with that?
(Beth) That was five years ago, of course I remember. The party, the reporters, all of them dying to catch a picture of our faces.
The two begin to laugh harmoniously as the reminisce over the memory.
(Jenny) That was Daddy alright. I swear, credibility was that man's middle name with a capital C. He made me us super stars after we came up with that breakthrough.
(Beth) It doesn't matter to me really. We were more concerned on doing something for the good of humanity itself.
(Jenny) That we did Sis. That we did. And I'll be honest to it doesn't matter all that much to me either. But in all seriousness ,sis, thank you for helping me with that.
(Beth) It's what I'm here for Jenny. Besides, without you I wouldn't even exist.
(Jenny) But yeah, I'll be honest, I was scared that the colonists and marines might come after us with stakes and pitchforks, especially if they found out I was part xenomorph.
(Beth) But that never happened. Did it.
(Jenny) You know it didn't ,sis. You were there when we went to the colonies for the first time. Heck I don't think a single person noticed. I'll be honest though, even though nobody gave a crap I was part xenomorph, I was still pretty shy. I'd never been around so many people at one time.
Now that I look back on how far we've come since then I don't care. Like you said we did it just to help humanity, that's all we wanted. We didn't care if daddy took credit for our achievement, but like I said, credibility was his middle name, and he doused us in it. It was like we'd found the cure for cancer and every STD know to man. That alone made us Research Directors of this facility, outside of the secret areas you know. And the publicity from all the other colonies.
(Beth) Let's just say we became very popular overnight. Of course Father being the man he was, didn't use Agent-X for the purposes we'd made them for, and just used it to help recollect his assets after they escaped. Still he was grateful for the help and we was paid very well for it.
(Jenny) Yeah. But then again in saying that it's true. He did use Agent-X for those purposes. And I hate the fact that we were also nothing more than another distraction from the truth. I also hate that the real super heroes were getting thrown in the mud, while we and the stupid Task Force took all the credit.
I'll admit I was also among many of the people on this world and many others who bought into the lies Daddy told about the marines. That's another thing he did. He spouted a bunch of lies about the marines, that we all just ate up. He made them out to be lazy gun monkeys, or insane xenomorph worshipping cultists. I was under the belief of the former. All of this was right around the time we finished our degrees, right when the Task Force began to be more popular among the colonies.
(Beth) Yes. And the latter is also believable to some extent. Remember the BioTech documents about those cultists who literally worshipped the xenomorphs. Some of them were having nightmares about the xenomorphs, and began worshipping them like they were Jesus Christ, calling them the "True Messiah."
Jenny makes a fearful and disgusted noise as she recalls the thought clearly.
(Jenny) Yeah. I remember, and the report about Rebecca Jorden. She was having nightmares about them too. Although given what she went through as a child on LV426 it's not hard to see why. But yeah, we demoralized, dehumanized, even demonized the marines. Just... We just kept scarfing down the bullsht lies, and didn't think for a second if any of this was true, none of us asked any questions we just... We were stupid. But we've learned since then never to judge a book by it's cover.
(Both) Yep!
(Jenny) I try not to be very stereotypical, but even I'm not immune to such things. I liked to think that at the time I wasn't so prejudicial, and that there were some marines out there that were good, even though they all were, but every time I saw a person in uniform I would always think about what kind of person could sleep at night knowing they weren't there to protect someone from the monsters they were suppose to be protecting them from. I didn't even consider them real people just by what I'd heard about them. Of course that also changed after I met Kjon.
(Beth) I was pretty much the same way.
(Jenny) I still feel guilty about the crap we put our armed forces through. Kjon says it's no big deal, mostly because it was Weyland Yutani's fault, but I'm still a part of Weyland Yutani so I still feel like I put Kjon through the same hell Daddy put him through since he (Kjon) was born. Of course this is all a story for another time.
Sorry for the delay I'm still busy with the move, and I'm still trying to work out all the details for the fanfic itself. I'm also a little preoccupied with some other projects, but I'm trying my best to make time for everything. I hope you guy's like the story and I'll do my best to post the next chapter as soon as possible.
