Astronomy was her major. Dreaming of the stars and leaving this hell of a planet was the dream that Loqs chased. Then again, she did understand that FTL travel is decades away, especially with her mother behind bars. She stopped in her tracks when her mother popped into her head. She took a deep breath, and continued breathing. Her mother was her fathers sister. Which isn't that great on paper. Nor is it good in reality, especially when your aunt-mother was a mad scientist who saw her brother's genes as "The perfect addition to my eggs"

Her father was only 16 when she was born. Her mother had assaulted him in his sleep and gave him an amnestic. However, as Lincoln had his first consensual sexual experience, all of those memories flooded back to him. By the time he told his family and eventually the police, her mother had already began modifying her own eggs. Her father remarked with a darker expression on his face during one of his more drunken rants that he remembered how when they dragged her out of the house in handcuffs, she had killed dozens of swat members when they raided the house for her. She kept screaming about how "it" was unstable, and that she needed access to her supplies or else it would be born that way

Despite her threats, she was only given SOME materials after her daughter had been born. The government initially was going to give her up for adoption, however Lincoln stepped in and took her as his own. Despite all the circumstances, she was his daughter. With her bright eyes, one bright pink and one a vibrant blue, staring right back at him. Loqs hair even mimicked her fathers, however was darker compared to her dads. During a school project, the color was found specifically to be #d2c3bf on the hex index. She did understand how she could be labeled as unstable. She had a massive yearn for learning, matching her mothers. Which could ultimately be a detriment. She was more fragile than the average human, her immune system is weaker and the sun tends to burn her easily.

For all intents and purposes, she was meant to be the next step in human evolution. But how was an easily burned mess with a weird color palette going to push humanity into the stars? Probably her intellect. With an iq of 195, she was already a genius. But compared to her mother, she was falling behind in that department. Her mother was the smartest person to ever live. And even in prison she's producing dozens of inventions to help the government so she could stave off the death penalty.

One thing though, she was and probably forever will be known for being a freak. A modified mess that can barely be called human. She was unnatural, unwanted and unloved by the world. And every reminder of her mother is a reminder of that fact. A bus of children went by, the children's peering eyes at the girl who their parents told them stories about. Their substitute bus driver paid no mind.

Loqs went to that public school. She remembered the bus number, 77, and really remembered the bus driver. He was an older man, maybe 45-48. He was always nice to the younger children, but bitter and resentful towards the older ones. He gave out sweets constantly. But he did have his favorites. And he played games with his favorites.

Loqs remembered his favorites. And how they would stay behind on the bus while everyone else got off. She also remembered the way he died; he was one of the first victims of the Angel Maker. She remembered how he looked just before he died. After all, she was the last one to see him alive .
