Dorado groaned as he slowly opened his eyes. He reached up and rubbed his head, and tried to shake off the haze and remember what happened. It was still foggy, but he remembered something about his father telling him about a creature that slipped through the Earth dimension from Tartarus.

Yes, that was right. His father had sent him and Lacerta to take care of it before it got to any populated areas. He grit his teeth and sat up. It had been a lot tougher than they had bargained for. They'd managed to keep in the same area, but then… he took a hit when he went in for the kill.

He shook his head as he got to his feet. He had to find Lacerta. Make sure they had taken care of that thing and… wait, where was he?

They'd found the creature in a forest far outside of Townsville. But this looks like some sort of cave? How had he gotten here? Did Lacerta bring him? Another of his stupid ideas at a joke probably. He sighed and got ready to open a portal, but then heard something off to the side.

His hand instinctively made its way to his sword, Frostburn, and he prepared to strike. "Who's there?" he asked wearily. It wasn't his brother. He would have sensed him nearby if it was. But… there was some kind of off aura nearby. A magical one, but different. It almost felt similar to his aunt Titania's.

A few moments passed, and suddenly a figure stepped out from a boulder nearby. Dorado lowered his sword as he looked over the fair skinned girl before him.

She looked like she was the same age as him, maybe a year or two younger. She had long white wavy hair that flowed down to her mid back, and had a golden laurel wreath on her head. She wore a white dress, a pair of golden bracelets around her wrists, and a pair of golden sandals. Her eyes, which were a pale white that were practically glowing, looked over him wearily.

Dorado loosened his grip on his sword. The girl didn't seem like a threat. "...who are you?" he asked. "Do you happen to know where I am?"

She just kept on staring at him, her eyes darting back and forth between his sword and his face. He took a step back, letting go of his sword completely and holding his hands up. "Look, I'm not going to hurt you. I'm just… a little lost here. I don't know where I am, and I'm confused. Do you know how I got here?" he asked.

The girl looked nervous, and he could tell something was bothering her. Just what the heck was going on here? "I… I thought you were Asterossa," she said. "You look just like him. You were hurt, and I just… I brought you back here."

Dorado's eyes widened. "Wait… you know my father?"

She looked at him surprised. "Wait, so you're…" She began walking towards him, and Dorado raised an eyebrow as she began circling around him. "You look just like him. I didn't think… I didn't think he would have any offspring so young," she mumbled.

Dorado was confused. Young? His father may not have been an old man, but he was clearly old enough to have kids. How in the world did this girl know him? What was going on? "Um… would you mind if I asked who you were my lady?" Dorado asked.

She stopped walking around him, and then stepped back. "I'm sorry. My name is Makaria," she said nodding her head. "I'm sorry, but I happened to be nearby when that creature struck you. I was worried it might be fatal, so I brought you here."

Dorado hummed. "I see. Well, then you have my gratitude," he said nodding towards her. He doubted that injury would have actually killed him. His healing might not have been on the same level as Lacerta's, but he was still quite sturdy. But still, an act in kindness was something to be repaid. His mother taught him that.

"No, it's fine. Really," she said shaking her head. "Knowing who your father is there really wasn't any reason for me to step in. But I do think that you should go. That creature you were tracking got very close to one of the doors, and if my uncle were to find someone from Asterossa's family here…"

Dorado looked confused. "I'm sorry, but… I don't understand. What door? And why would your uncle have a problem with my father and I?" he asked.

Makaria just stared at him. "Wait, did Asterossa not tell you about our history? Did he not tell you about his feud with Zues?" she asked.

Dorado blinked. Zeus? As in Greek God Zues? The man who had practically declared war with both his grandfather and father? The one whose pantheon his father told him to avoid at all cost? "Your uncle is Zues?!" he asked, taking a step back. "Your a Goddess?!"

She nodded. "You couldn't tell?" she asked. Beings like themselves could tell one another apart with a glance. Were the genes his father passed on not as strong? Or maybe they hadn't quite kicked in yet.

"I… you had a strange aura about you, but… well, I've just never met a goddess before. Besides my aunt Titania anyway. And yours is a bit different from hers," he explained.

"Titania is from Oberon's family. Sometimes deities from different pantheons have a distinct presence. Especially one as powerful as hers," she explained. "Now really, you should get going. My uncle would be all too glad to have an excuse to go after you."

Dorado scratched his head. "Right. Our families don't exactly have a good standing with one another. And I don't want to cause any trouble. I'll be on my way," he said. "But let me thank you again for helping me, lady Makaria. Despite the bad blood in our family, you still chose to help me. I owe you a debt of gratitude, and should you ever wish me to repay it, simply ask."

She looked away from him. "I-it's fine. Really… just tell Asterossa that I said hi when you see him. Tell him I hope he keeps well," she said.

Dorado still wasn't sure exactly how she knew his father. Was she older than she looked? He had heard ages for gods and goddesses were very complicated. Meaningless really. They could appear as young or old as they felt or wanted. But, curious as he was, he knew better than to ask a woman her age.

"You know, you could tell him yourself," he said. "Whatever the status is between our families, I'm sure my father would allow an old friend to come by and visit."

She fumbled with her hands nervously. "That's fine. I mean… I don't want to intrude or cause any trouble. Besides, I don't even know how to get to mewni," she said. She had never been outside of her own dimension. Only between the realm of her pantheons and the mortals.

"I could take you," Dorado offered.

She looked up at him surprised. "What?"

"I could take you to mewni."

She stared at him with a blank expression. Was… was he serious? He looked sincere enough about it. But was it even a good idea? If her uncle had found out she had been in contact with Astro's son, let alone Astro himself…

"Maybe," she said rubbing her arms. "Maybe some other time."

"Alright then. If you ever decide to accept, then you can contact Circe. She and my father are on… good enough, terms. Or anyone from Avalon. I'm sure they'd be happy to help you as well," he said. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to find my brother and be on my way. Thank you again Makaria."He nodded one last time before he turned and made his way out of the cave.

Makaria watched him leave, thinking to herself as he did. So that was Asterossa's son. He looked so much like him. And he acted like him too… mostly. There was something different about him she just couldn't place. Not a good or bad thing. Just a different thing.

She kept fiddling with her hands as she thought about his offer. She was tempted to see what another mortal dimension was like. And a not so small part of her wanted to see the others again… but she wasn't sure. What would she even say to them?

"The fuck did you go?" Lacerta asked. He sat atop the beast, who had been slain and had his sword sticking out of it.

Dorado narrowed his eyes at his brother. "I was blown away by that beast. Thank you for looking for me by the way," he said annoyed.

Lars scoffed. "You're not a damn baby. I knew you'd be fine," he said as he pulled his sword from the creature's side. "I'm taking this home by the way. Maybe I'll have a coat made of it for mom or something."

"I can't help but think that neither mom nor mother will want a coat made out of such a thing," Dorado said turning around. "Now, we should take our leave. We don't need to linger in this dimension any longer than necessary. Not under these circumstances."

Lars grabbed the beast by it's fur and began dragging it. "Oh, someone is in a rush to get out of here. Got a hot date or something?" he asked, smirking.

Dorado rolled his eyes. "We need to report to father…" Lacerta didn't need to know about what had happened. Knowing him he might actually try to start a conflict with the Greek Pantheon, and that was the last thing they needed.

He'd tell his father when he got back. And maybe ask him more about their relationships with the Greeks, and how he knew Makaria...

A/N: Makaria and Dorado's first meeting! I didn't want to spoil too much since Makaria will be playing a minor role in the God Arc. I also have sort of a story arc idea for the future AU (way down the line maybe after I finish the god arc or something) and she would play a part in that too. Hope you guys enjoyed!
