Kjon's Audio Diary Log
June 5, 2621
(Ch'ris) If you are at all concerned with my knowledge on most Ooman things, do not be afraid to correct me if I am wrong in some way or other. My family and I, as well as the tribe have been here for such a very short time, and although I myself have learned much over the past two years, I am still learning much about your Ooman's culture. I will not be offended by your correcting me, it will help me to learn and understand your people. I just wanted to say that.
(Kj) It's okay Ch'ris just go ahead and speak into the Audio Diary.
(Ch'ris) Thank-you. You see we were a bad blood tribe at the time so we were not among the honorable societies known to inhabit Yautja Prime. We were once an honorable clan, but my grandfather ,Reo'am-oir, had stained our tribe with dishonor, making us fall out of favor with the Grand Council. This was not a pleasant thing, as it not only excommunicated us from a society we'd been raised under, but we also lost many of the privileges, and favorable rights that were acceptable to the "honorables." When I refer to honorables I am talking about those societies still favored for their honor.
I had been declared the clan leader two years before I first came here, and was focused on finishing the task my father ,Va-saka had started. Removing the stain that grandfather had willingly brought upon our clan.
Father and Grandfather never saw the same visions. Grandfather was a hardened, wretched, mother fker, as you Oomans would say. He'd killed an entire village of unarmed Oomans, full of men, women, and children, who were no more but peaceful farmers. They didn't even think to make a move to fight back even after they found out what had been going on. They were just worried about hiding or getting their loved ones to safety. Some of our tribe's elders even agreed to follow with these actions. Once the Grand Council found out, they got everything we deserved. To be honest, I along with many others of my clan are lucky they weren't all sentenced to death. Some of the elders were. Grandfather was deliberately allowed to live just to suffer for his crimes. Killing him would've been to merciful and honorable. The council wanted to make an example out of him, and because of this decision my father and I had to bear that same burden Reo'am-oir did. We didn't blame the Council at all, we completely agreed with them. We focused all of our hatred on Grandfather. It was only fitting he died the way he lived ,like a dishonorable bad blood. Once my father took his place on the throne he set his entire life to right the wrongs his Reo'am-oir made. He also thought ahead and taught me and my sister ,Zell-oah, about our dishonorable past, and that we should feel burdened with this same shame he (Va-saka) was burdened with, and that nothing would cleanse us until we were among the honorables once again. I continued to follow his counselling until the day he died.
I took my place as his heir to the throne shortly after and set to work doing the same things Va-saka did. His teachings had been very personal to me. I did this out of love for him, and for the good of the clan's future. We both had made significant progress during our time in power. Although there were enduring... what do the Oomans call the word... setbacks, we continued to perserver.
(Kj) What kind of set backs were there.
(Ch'ris) We had plenty of members within the tribe that liked the way things were. They were born bad bloods. They did not care to see things go back to the way they were. Thus they tried to sabotage me and father's progress. Before you ask no, we did not deal with them diplomatically like you Oomans normally like to, before resorting to violence. We are a very physical people, and we solve most of our quarrels through acts of physical display. This shows we have the physical capability to make the decisions and keep the others in line with whatever we decide. The right to the throne isn't just being in charge, but a responsibility that is passed down to the next worthy individual in line for that responsibility. Someone who can make the right decisions for their people. It is also the responsibility to keep ahold of that responsibility, to show you have what it takes to stay in power. The physical aspect I am saying. Show them who's Alpha Male, as the Oomans say.
Things continued like this. I continued to uphold my fathers principles, protected my thriving clan from invasions from other threats, most notably other bad blood clans, and dissenters in the tribe that sought to remove me, and Rachelle, who I'd taken as my life mate, or my wife as you would call it. Although we were not exactly in a favorable scenario, we were at least safe and to some extent peaceful. At least until my sister was kidnapped by one of these traitorous bands.
Zell-oah was being held hostage by them and demanded I surrender my position, or undo all my father's hard work, or she would suffer the consequences. We immediately took action. I had my military assemble itself and look for these barbarians. I myself joined them on this search. I wasn't going to let them have what they wanted, or get away with this treacherous act. I was going to track them down and make trophies of the them all. I would skin the flesh off their bones, and hang them for all to see. Like I said, that's how you let every one know you're in charge. Not just by having the brains to make the decisions, but to have the... what's the word? Balls? Yes, it is balls. But the brains and the balls to enforce those decisions.
(Kj) Sorry for interrupting you Ch'ris, I just want to ask something.
(Ch'ris) Certainly my friend.
(Kj) Now I already know the story, you and Rachelle have already explained it to me, but I'm just asking this for clarification, but couldn't you have sought out help from other clans?
(Ch'ris) No. We were excommunicated remember. If we showed the nerve to even look at the honorables again before we restored our honor we were "as good as dead." Once again as the Oomans say.
(Kj) No, not Yautja Prime, I'm asking if there were other Bad Blood clans who you were allied with if there were any, who you could go to.
(Ch'ris) No, that was also an unthinkable notion. We were trying to distance ourselves from them as much as possible. To employ their help would only further complicate matters. Not only that, but even if we did go to ask them they would not help us, and even if they did chances were likely they wouldn't help us complete our search, and they would betray us the minute they had the chance. We were a tribe with many laborious people, and rich resources, which other Bad Blood clans were trying to take advantage of. Although we were exiled, we still had much to loose. As the Oomans say, it is a "dog eat dog world." You must either kill or be killed. We were on our own.
Once we picked up on the trail of one of our stolen scout ships, my mate and I took haste to pursue it. Thankfully we came at the right place and time. That lead us straight to you.
This chapter was a little shorter than usual but I'm glad I was able to get done with it. Ch'ris- and Rachelle are two new characters who will be helping Kjon and Jenny if you couldn't already tell. Also they are inspired off of a couple friends I used to chat with about AvP stuff. This is a tribute to them and their characters. I have special plans for these characters and the help they will play for our current ones further on. I hope you guys [primarily NeverNeverGirl ;) ] And I'll start work on the next part as soon as possible.
Also have a Merry Christmas NeverNeverGirl.
