"So, how has everyone's day been?" Maria asked looking around the table.

The Butterfly family all sat around enjoying, or playing with, their dinner. It wasn't exactly rare that they all made time to sit down together, but it could get a bit tricky between the boys going out on their missions, Aqua locking herself up in her lab, and just about everything else that went on in their lives.

Cetus shrugged as he poked at his corn. "Nothing much. Got knocked down about twenty times today in training, so that was fun…" he said sarcastically.

"I told you to strengthen your stance," Astro said without missing a beat. "Anybody who comes at you is going to know with a look that you're not planting your feet."

Cetus let out a sigh, and his father narrowed his eyes. Sagitta could tell where this was headed and quickly decided to speak up. "Well, I went to one of grandma's forbidden zones today. There were some trespassers trying to hunt one of the local monsters there. Defeated them and sent them back home, no problem," she said smiling.

Astro smiled. "Nice work."

Amber hummed. "That's great in all, just make sure my mother isn't trying to drag you anywhere too dangerous," she warned. Hekapoo wasn't quite as protective as she had been when Amber was growing up, which she supposed was both a good and a bad thing. She loved Sagitta dearly, but she always would let her get away with and get into a lot of things at times.

Lars laughed. "You don't have to baby her mom. She can actually handle herself for the most part. Unlike the jellyfish over here," he said motioning towards Cetus.

Astro reached over and plucked his head. "What did I say about picking on your brother? Knock it off," he warned. "Besides, he at least trained today. Where were you?"

"Got a lead on some rebels hiding out in some small town. Shaking them down for supplies or some shit like that. Haven't found anything yet, but some shit's definitly up," he explained. "That productive enough for you old man?"

Astro grunted. "Good work… just keep me informed when you get up to stuff like this. I want to be safe if those villagers are being held hostage," he said.

Amber patted her son on the head, then turned towards Aqua. "What about you Aqua, been up to anything interesting?" she asked.

"Dorado's been sneaking out to see a girl."

Everyone stopped at the girl's answer. Everyone but Aqua who just kept casually eating her food anyway. Dorado's eyes went wide and he looked towards his sister. "...Aqua, really?" he asked in disbelief.

She shrugged back in response. They were about to start asking her stuff, and what she was working on lately wasn't exactly… parentally approved, to put it mildly. So she threw them off the trail with something she knew they'd bite at. Her brother's love life.

"You have a girlfriend?!" Maria said shocked. "And you didn't tell me?!"

"Mother, she's not-!"

"Why haven't you brought her around?" Amber asked curiously. "Don't tell me you're nervous about her meeting us? Or have you two just not gotten to that point."

"It's not what-!"

"Shit, I'm kind of surprised. The way you were always ducking girls I thought you were playing for the other team for a while," Lars said amused. "So did Wisteria finally break you ass down?"

"I'm not dating anyone!" Dorado shouted. Everyone finally stopped and looked towards him surprised. It was rare to hear Dorado shout or have an outburst. "Yes, I've been sneaking out to go visit someone, and she happens to be a girl. But it's not like that. She's only a friend. A friend I met a while ago, and… well, it's complicated."

Astro grunted. Hearing the words 'It's complicated' when it came to relationships was never a good sign. Just like Cetus 'complicated' friendship with that Ruby girl, or Sagitta's 'complicated' relationship with that little snake Sandor… he knew that boy was up to something. They were too close.

"Complicated how? Is she in trouble or something?" Amber asked. "If your friend needs some help then you know we'd be happy to lend a hand."

"It's a little more complicated than that. She's not from Mewni. She's from Earth actually," he said rubbing the back of his head. "I just haven't said anything because she asked me not to for now. I think she's nervous about dad."

Maria hummed. "From Earth huh?" So he'd been sneaking across dimensions just to see this girl. Her motherly voice was telling her this was more than just some friend.

Astro raised an eyebrow. "About me? What did I do?"

"Well, you are the king of monsters. I don't think it's surprising that some people might be a little flustered or intimidated when meeting you," Maria said.

"It's not that. At least I don't think it's that. It's just… well, she's a goddess. Her name is Makaria. She said she knew you and-"

Everyone stopped when they heard Astro's fork drop. The titan was wide eyed, and both his mothers looked surprised as well. "Wait, Makaria?! You've been going to see Makaria?! You've been near the Greek Pantheon?!"

"W-well we haven't been-"

"Dorado, do you have any idea how dangerous that is?!" Astro asked. "If Zues or any of the others caught wind of you, they'd try and have you killed!"

Sagitta and Cetus both seemed surprised. Their father wasn't the type to yell at them, and they couldn't even remember him ever yelling at Dorado. Lars smirked. Seemed like his 'twin' was going to be the one getting balled out for a change. Aqua… kept on eating her dinner, seemingly oblivious to everything going on.

Dorado held his hands up. "I-I know, father. She said as much. We've been meeting away from Olympus." He didn't want to mention that their spot away from Olympus was the Underworld. He wasn't sure how he would react.

Astro seemed to calm down a bit, and let out a sigh. "I… that's good, I'm sorry I just…" He rubbed a hand across his face. The moment he'd thought of the Greek Gods, a million memories came flooding back. "How did you meet Makaria?"

"She… she helped me on one of our trips to Earth a while back. When we went to go slay the beasts that slipped through Tartarus' boundary," he explained.

"How is she?"

"She seemed fine I think…? Father, how do you two know each other. I know that you and the Greek don't have a good history together, but she won't say anything."

Astro scratched his head. "Yeah, that's not surprising."

Lars scowled. "So he isn't in trouble? You serious?"

"Alright, I ate my vegetables. When's dessert?" Aqua asked, crossing her arms.

Sagitta narrowed her eyes at her siblings. "Seriously you guys? Right now?"

Astro shook his head and decided to go on. "Right, so… I know I haven't told any of you all the details about my issues with the Greek Pantheon. It's not exactly something I like to remember," Astro said. "But the short version is… I basically went to war with them, and Makaria helped me out a bit."

Lars now looked interested. "Wait, hold up! You made it sound like it was just some scuffle or something! You actually went to war with them?! That's badass!"

"Makaria helped you out…? How old is she?!" Dorado asked. She looked a year or two younger than he did. But he knew her father back then…

"What did I tell you about asking about a woman's age?" Maria said.

Dorado looked down. "S-sorry mother. It was just… surprising."

"Ages for gods are relative. However old she looks is how old she is by her own standards… or something like that." He remembered Circe saying something like that, and it wasn't all that different from how some Titans aged either. "You were lucky to have run into her and someone else. It might not have worked out well."

"So… you wouldn't mind if she came to visit then? It wouldn't cause any trouble?" Dorado asked. He had been trying to convince her to come to mewni for a while now, but she always seemed hesitant. Knowing for sure she had his father's approval would help a lot.

Astro looked down for a moment, and then nodded. "I don't think it should be a problem. I just… want you to be careful when you're on Earth. In fact, be careful in general."

"What the hell?!" Lars said. "You're giving him permission to sneak around with a chick, but give me shit every time I bring a girl back home?!"

"Besides, Makaria is just probably glad to have someone to talk to."

"Are you ignoring me?!"

"Why wouldn't she have someone to talk to?" Dorado asked.

"Motherfuckers!"

Astro looked at his eldest son confused. "Wait, she didn't tell you?"

"Tell me what?"

"So… you're a goddess of death…?"

Makaria looked down nervously as she sat on the edge of the skyscraper the two had decided to meet at. She liked coming up here to enjoy the view. "Sorry I didn't tell you," she said gently swaying her feet back and forth.

Dorado shrugged as he leaned against the wall nearby. "It's fine. You're not obliged to tell me anything you don't want to. It's just… I am a bit curious about why you felt like you needed to hide it. Among other things," he said.

The girl bit her bottom lip. "People aren't exactly eager to be around someone who they think brings death everywhere they go. Even if it is a 'blessed' death. I thought if I told you, that you might keep your distance."

Dorado laughed. "Well, death doesn't come to Titans so easily, so even if that were true I don't think I'd have anything to worry about," he said walking next to her. "And my father made it very clear that you're welcomed to come by and visit mewni whenever you'd like."

Makaria looked at him surprised. "Are… are you sure. The titans and my pantheon pretty much have an agreement that we won't-"

"You're the exception," Dorado said, offering his hand to her.

She reached up and took it, and he helped her up to her feet. "Thank you."

"It's no problem at all, my lady," he said nodding towards her. "And you don't have to worry about whatever bad blood there is between the gods and titans. It doesn't affect me and you after all."

Makaria stared back at him, then looked away. He looked so much like his father. He was different personality wise of course, but the resemblance was just so uncanny.

Before he could ask what was wrong, they heard a loud crash off in the distance, followed by an alarm. Dorado frowned. "That doesn't sound good," he said grabbing his sword. "I'm going to go check that out. See if the Vanguard need any help."

She nodded. "Okay then. I'll just wait here."

"I'll be right back."

Makaria watched as he jumped off the edge of the building, kicking off the side of it and launching himself towards the alarm. "Be careful…." she muttered. She wished she could have gone with him, but Hera was clear about them not getting involved in mortal affairs. Besides, if she did it would in all likeness end in death. That was her thing.

Maybe taking their visits together to mewni would be for the best. She did want to meet up with Astro and the others again. And the chances of someone else seeing them would diminish. She'd have to ask her father if she had permission to leave the dimension first though...
