Jennifer's Diary
June 18, 2621
You can pretty much understand what happened after the bad bloods captured me. I was taken away, starved, and tortured for information, the works. But I didn't care. In all that time the one thing that worried me most was Jon. I'd seen him take a fully charged plasma caster blast to the torso with little armor to protect him.
I had seen him throw down against many dangerous creatures before, some of which he saved me from. I'd also seen him take some insane injuries before, but I was very sure that he never fought other Predators before either. Sure he'd trained with his mother when he was a child, which is how he knew so many Yautja martial arts techniques and hunting strategies, but that was nineteen years ago, and she'd taken it easy on him. Yes his tactics were nothing to be ignored, and he spent years to develop them, but when it came to an actual fight the only thing he ever really fought to the death against were wild animals and xenomorphs. He may have also fought some humans out of self defense, but he never killed any of them. What did all of them add up to when he was facing a threat that was just as dangerous as himself times a hundred? I didn't know whether he'd survived the plasma blast or not, and if he had, how could he possibly hold his own against a pack of bad bloods? They were criminal Yautja sentenced to be executed, but escaped, or were exiled from their home world because of their dishonorable actions. They didn't care for the same honorable values Jon did, meaning they would do everything in their power to kill him. I knew that he wouldn't let them get away with this. I'd seen how protective he was around those he cared for. He killed two xenos with savage rage and brutality because they tried to hurt me. If Jon had survived the plasma shot he was going to be pissed, and would not stop until he got me back. But I still I couldn't help but feel lost and helpless, especially for Jon.
I remembered my faith, and I said a reverent prayer to the Lord, begging him that he would watch over me, and more importantly ,Jon, and that He'd bless him with the strength he would need to go up against these ugly sons-of-btches. I felt an overwhelming feeling of peace and assurance after I finished my prayer. It came in the form of this little voice that said in a soft angelic tone "Do not worry ,Jennifer. He is fine. We shall guide him and give him the strength which you have asked. Everything shall be alright." I felt my heart leap with joy as I heard that soft little voice inside my head speak.
A couple of days later I got confirmation that this was true. Apparently something had triggered the bad blood's attention. They were not afraid, but rather it seemed like they were anticipating something. I couldn't understand most of what these guys were saying since they spoke mostly in the Yautja language. This was also the same time I met their leader. She had her goons stop torturing me and decided to interrogate me herself. She was mostly white except for some blue accents that ran up and down her body. She had on a bronze bio-mask which was similar in design and shape to normal Predator bio-masks, except it had this jawbone on the bottom of it. I didn't know what significance it had, but from the feeling my gut was telling me, it wasn't anything good. She removed it and looked at me with a pleasant smile on her mandibles. Her red pupils locked onto me with interest.
"What have we here?" She asked in English as she eyeballed me with curiosity. I could tell the question was directed towards her underlings. They replied something in their language which I still couldn't understand. "A Ooman that is part 'Kiande Amedha'. Interesting. Very Interesting indeed." She clicked her mandibles.
"What do you want with me?" I asked with a harsh look on my face. I wasn't intimidated by the bad bloods or their leader one bit. I guess that was something that rubbed off of Jon and onto me.
"So it does speak?" She said in a intrigued manner.
"Well duh. What did you expect would come out of my mouth? A hiss, a growl, maybe a second jaw?" I said with snark in my voice. The bad blood just laughed after I said that.
"This is a very unusual and certainly amusing specimen you have caught Kn'or-al. Tell me why hasn't it spoken to anyone until now?" She inquired.
"Because I can't understand a word they say, and it doesn't help when they smack me in the head just because I look at them funny." I answered them for her.
"I see." She said this time making a short frown which intensified as she eyed her subordinates with frustration. "Bring food and medicine for this Ooman. She interests me. And if I see anyone harm her without my saying so, they shall be turned over to the 'Kiande Amedha' for 'Z'skvy-de'." She ordered threateningly. I understood kiande amedha, because Jon had explained to me that the two words individually meant "hard meat", but in reality it was his species definition for xenomorph. I didn't understand z'skvy-de but I found out later on that it meant chestburster. The pack leader then turned back to me with a pleasant smile. I could see what she was trying to do by being hospitable, but I didn't dare give her anything in return for her kindness. I knew she wanted something from me, but I didn't know what it was she wanted. I had a feeling it wasn't going to be anything good. "So tell me Ooman, who are you and what is the cause of your unexpected trespassing." She said trying not to come off as a btch, even though that's exactly what she came across as.
"Jennifer Bishop Weyland, and I was just helping a friend of mine with a hunt, when your friends came and shot him." I said with a sneer.
"So you were with another Yatja? Interesting. Perhaps it was my brother you have met? Ch'ris?" She questioned.
"No. I don't know who this Ch'ris guy is." I said with a weird look of confusion.
"Huh. This maybe true since I know he is after me. Little does he my group and I are after him as well. They also would've taken him alive had it been him." She said thoughtfully.
"Excuse me, but who are you?" I questioned with a leer.
"I am Zell-oah. The pack leader, and soon to be rightful ruler of the Vall-kcor'sta clan." She introduced herself. "Forgive me for my lack of manners, but you said that you were of Weyland? like Weyland Utani?" She asked trying to pronounce the company's name.
"Yes, I did. I am Weyland's daughter, he is the leader of that group of humans." I said trying to be as clear to Zell-oah as possible.
"It is an honor to met the offspring of such a mighty Ooman family. You understand you Weylands have been a very tenacious adversary of my species for a long long time." Zell-oah said.
"So I've heard." I answered.
"So tell me MIZ Weyland," She began trying to pronounce Miss, "Who was this Yatja you were with when my scout team captured you?"
"He was one of my father's soldiers who was sent to kill a group of 'kiande amedha' that escaped." I explained without going into much detail. "He was also sent to take me home." I added.
"Well forgive us for our rudeness, but I am afraid that if what you say is true he is dead. I am also sorry to tell you that you shall not be returned or rescued by any of your father's soldiers. We have kept a close eye on this area for some time now, and we do not take kindly to trespassers, especially those soldiers of your father." Zell-oah explained pulling up images of destroyed dropships with dead Task Force personnel on her wristbracer. That would explain why Jon and I didn't receive any backup when we followed the xenomorphs to Cardona Valley. "Do not fear though, daughter of Weyland. I shall not harm you, nor shall I have any of my subjects do so, so long as you comply with us of course. You are a very interesting captive, and I should wish to keep you for study. You also have much information I could use until that time." Zell-oah explained. I didn't like how she said "study." I also didn't like how she tried to be so well-mannered, but was coming of like a cunt. I was most unhappy because of what her scout team had done to Jon, and how unsympathetic and unapologetic she was. Then again what should I have expected from these assholes.
"Listen here MIZ bad blood btch! I don't know what it is you are up to and I could care less, but me and my friend weren't trespassing! We were after 'kiande amedha' and we did nothing to you! I can also assure you that my father is a powerful 'Ooman' and he will hear of this, and you will pay dearly. And I know for a fact that my Yautja friend is still very much alive. I also know just how ferocious he can be when angry, and if you want to avoid having to be put in body bag I suggest you let me go right now!" I said trying to insult her or intimidate her in some way. I knew she wouldn't heed the warning, but I said it anyway just to try. Zell-oah found my threats pathetic and laughably amusing. Had I not been tied down with my arms pinned to my sides and my legs affixed together, I would've kicked her ass, which would've been foolish, but satisfying. That's probably why Jon always calls me a kha'bj-te tarei'hsan, or a reckless scorpion.
"You are a very pleasing individual to listen to daughter of Weyland." Zell-oah continued to laugh. Her chuckling was silenced when two of her scouts came to report their findings. I could see the smile fade into a look of concentration and deep interest. She gave them a nod and followed it with an order in her language before they gave a respectful bow, before marching off to do as she requested.
"What?" I interrogated.
"It appears you might be correct in your assertation about your Yatja friend. My scouts have found my brother and his mate traveling with a very, how would you Oomans say? 'peculiar' looking Yatja. This may very well be your friend you spoke of. But it is of no concern to me. He shall be taken captive just the same as you have, and just the same as my brother and his mate will be." Zell-oah said with a smile.
A day later, I received more information, and was accompanied by one of the Yautja Zell-oah had told me about. Apparently, Zell-oah had her crew set a trap for her brother, and his wife, and this mysterious other Yautja who I was sure was Kjon. Her sister-in-law had been taken captive in the conflict, but the mysterious other being helped her brother escape. I began to get to know my fellow captive.
"Are you the Ooman my friend has spoken of?" The female Yautja began as she looked at me with interest. I could sense she wasn't like Zell-oah, and was a lot more friendly.
"Maybe. Who are you?" I asked.
"I am Rachelle, mate of Ch'ris, the clan leader of the Vall-kcor'sta clan. And who might you be?" She introduced herself with a short smile.
"I'm Jennifer Bishop Weyland, but you can just call me Jenny if you want." I said with a timid smile.
"Then you are the Ooman female of the Weylands that my friend has spoken of!" She said with a pleasant smile decorating her face.
"Who is this friend of yours? Is he a Yautja like you?" I asked with hopeful interest.
"Indeed. His name is Kjon, of the Schaefer Oomans." Rachelle said with a smile. My heart went wild as I heard her say that, and gave a smile. I knew that he had survived. The bad bloods who guarded us also seemed surprised to here this news. They didn't have their masks on so I could see their eyes widen and their mandibles flare fearfully, before they ran to Zell-oah to share this information. They came back with her a moment later. She seemed a little concerned as she arrived and began interrogating Rachelle.
Rachelle explained to Zell-oah that she and her husband ,Ch'ris, had been viciously attacked by a Yautja, who they couldn't see. Jon had cleverly fought them with cunning strategy, but was momentarily subdued by them, only for him to retaliate with "ferocious strength" and "fearsome anger." Apparently Jon had attacked Ch'ris and Rachelle because he thought they were some of the Yautja who'd taken me. They had also attacked him because they suspected he was one of the bad bloods, who they thought had kidnapped Zell-oah. Rachelle looked surprised when she found out that her husband's sister was actually the one behind all of this. She continued explaining that they had realized that their fighting was a misunderstanding, and that Jon was looking for me. He had also allied with Ch'ris and Rachelle to help them find Zell-oah. During the interrogation one of the more interesting bits of info given was that Jon had been taken in by the Schaefers and trained as a soldier. This part especially interested Zell-oah and the other bad bloods.
After the interrogation ended Rachelle and I continued our conversation. "So why are you and everyone else so interested in Jon?" I asked weirdly.
"We are all excited because your friend is an accepted member of the mighty Schaefer family. They, like you Weylands, have been adversaries of our species for centuries, although unlike you Weylands, we hold the Schaefers in higher regard. They have been enemies to us for much longer than you have been, and they are more physically challenging. They have successfully bested and slain every Yatja they have fought against, and some of them have had the greater honor to fight along side us. They are legends to us for these reasons. For a Yatja, like your friend who is an Abomination, to be accepted and trained by such individuals is a great honor. They are also afraid of him because of this." Rachelle explained with a wide eyed smile. I could see the other bad bloods talking to each other with concern as the word was passed.
I never knew the Schaefers had such an influential reputation among these guys. I had read up on the first recorded sighting of a Yautja on Earth, which took place all the way back in 1987. The document explained how Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer and his team were ambushed and decimated by this individual Hunter, except for the Major himself, who'd managed to defeat the hunter. I never had read up on all the other incidents. I wasn't very interested in the Yautja at the time.
After hearing that bit of news though I smiled. "I never knew that."
"It is true ,Weyland. Your friend is a very blessed warrior." Rachelle said.
Rachelle and I spent the next few weeks we remained captive together getting to know one another, and we became good friends. We also kept up on the events as news passed through the camp. While I couldn't understand any of the commotion that was being spoken of by the bad bloods, Rachelle thankfully understood it, and translated it to me. Apparently while we were sitting around, Jon and Ch'ris were getting work done and had managed to take down four bad blood camps. Not much information could be given about the first one since all the bad bloods from that camp had vanished without a trace. The three that followed after however were confirmed. Jon and Ch'ris were the ones who did it. One report also stated that they'd found out about Zell-oah's betrayal, and we knew they were not happy. Rachelle and I cheered happily each time we heard more. It was especially satisfying to see the look on Zell-oah's face as she was given the news.
Finally, after the fourth camp had been decimated, Zell-oah had had enough. She took both of us to a random area somewhere outside of the boundaries of their base. The area was not to far from the camp, at the same time though it was far enough away to be deemed safe.
Zell-oah ordered some of her bad blood subordinates to secure a perimeter around the area, while some of the others stayed behind just in case Rachelle and I didn't plan on escaping. Zell-oah opened her wristbracer and began to type a sequence of buttons and switches on it. I didn't know what she was trying to accomplish, and neither did Rachelle.
"Come on where are you brother?" Zell-oah asked impatiently as she typed away at her wristbracer. "Aha!" she proclaimed successfully as she found what she was after. "Intelligent move installing that anti-tracking device Ch'ris, that was very smart. But I've found you now." Zell-oah whispered to herself in triumph. Rachelle and I looked at each other with nervous confusion.
"I do not like this ,Jenny." Rachelle said with a uneasy look in her eyes.
"Neither do I ,Rachelle." I stated, sharing her concern. I was hit softly by one of the guard's combi-sticks, before being told in Yautja language to stop talking. I'd picked up a few things with the help of Rachelle, since I'd first met her.
"Do not harm them fool. At least not the Ooman, we need her still. She is most vital to us, especially now." Zell-oah shouted at the one Yautja who bowed an apology.
We both looked at each other again. This time we were really worried. "What do you want with me?" I questioned trying not to look or sound nervous.
"You shall see Weyland. You shall see." She said. I tried to struggle against my captors, but the Yautja who'd held me still, wrapped a cloth around me and Rachelle's mouths to keep us quiet. "Do not worry Ooman. So long as this plan works out you shall not be harmed. In fact, if it goes as planned you shall go free." I didn't like how she had said that. Rachelle and I gave each other another uneasy look. We could tell that Zell-oah was up to something, and we knew it wasn't anything good. She managed to pull up the holograph transmission and patiently waited. There was a reply a few moments later. "Salutations Ch'ris." Zell-oah began in a smooth, civilized tone. Rachelle screamed for her husband, but she was kept silent by our captors.
"What do you want from me sister!" Ch'ris hissed. We couldn't see the transmission, but we could definitely hear it as it continued.
"I shall not bother you with useless banter, as you already have discovered that I am the one behind all of this." She continued.
"Tell us something we don't know!" He replied. I chuckled a little as I heard that. Jon and Ch'ris were definitely getting along well.
"I have been monitoring the progress of all of my troops that I've sent out to capture you, and from what I've seen you've managed to take out four camps. But from what your lovely mate has told me, you were not alone when you did it. From what Rachelle has told me you met another Yatja who has been assisting you in decimating my troops. Apparently this individual is no ordinary hunter. I have been told he is an Abomination who has been given the great honor of being an accepted member of the Schaefer family and has been trained as an Ooman soldier. I wish to speak to him." That made me curious. What could she possibly want with Jon?
"What do you want with him?!" Ch'ris answered defiantly, sharing my confusion.
"Come now ,Ch'ris, I only wish to speak with him."
"He does not wish to speak with you. He and I are beyond furious with you, and we are-"
"No let me talk to her." I heard Jon's voice cut in. I felt a wave of relief wash over me, as I heard him speak. "Alright you're speaking to me. What do you want?"
"So you are the hunter who my dear mate-sister has told me so much about. It is a pleasure to finally met the blessed individual of the Schaefer family. No wonder four encampments were able to be taken so expertly. You understand that those were some of my best hunter soldiers. For an individual such as yourself that takes great skill and experience. I could use an individual like you in my army." Rachelle had explained the situation their clan had, and how Ch'ris had been trying to restore it's honor after what his grandfather had done. We also found out some clues as to what was happening as we heard the bad bloods talking. Zell-oah was apparently helping the bad bloods build an army for one reason or another. We couldn't wrap our heads around it, but hopefully Jon and Ch'ris had already done so themselves, and could stop it.
"Cut the bullsht and get to the point!" Jon snapped.
"My mate-sister also told me about your temper. Indeed you are a furious soul. I admire that." I think she said trying to hit on Jon. I'd kill her with my bear hands if she even tried it.
"Just cut to the point. I'm not the happiest Yatja in the world right now, especially with you!"
"Very well then. I have a proposition for you, one that I will grant most graciously if you comply." I put the puzzle together as Zell-oah spoke.
"May as well hear what you have to say before I say no. Let's hear it." Jon replied.
"My mate-sister has told me that you are after a special Ooman female. One that is part hard meat."
"Jenny." I heard Jon whimper my name.
"Yes that is her. I understand you have a deep interest in this Ooman." Zell-oah said tantalizingly.
The bad blood who had me gagged with the cloth had loosened his hold on it unknowingly, and I took that opportunity to fight. I managed to get my mouth released and scream, "Jon is that you?!" before the bad blood tried to subdue me again. Zell-oah looked at us and the bad blood wisely stopped struggling with me.
"That is her now. I shall allow you to speak with her momentarily." I knew she was using me to taunt Jon into doing something. The question was what did she want him to do. She approached me and turned her left arm which had her wristbracer on it.
"Jon!" I exclaimed happily as I saw him on the holograph.
"Jenny!" He said with a concerned yet soft smile on his face. It had been weeks since I'd seen him. Even though he was a Yautja, he was still just as young and handsome as he was since I'd last seen him. My eyes began to tear joyfully as I saw him smile. I liked his smile. "Hey Jenny. Are you alright Pyode Tarei'hsan?" He asked me.
"I'm fine ,Jon. I'm so glad to see you're alright." I answered.
"I am too. Look I am coming for you, and I'm going to get you home like I promised, okay babe." I liked how he called me that.
"Okay." I managed to spit out before being pulled away and Zell-oah turned to face Jon again.
"How touching. I am willing to return your Ooman friend to you completely unharmed if you will bring my brother to me alive. I swear to it." Zell-oah said. Even though I couldn't see him, I could tell Jon was having a difficult time making a decision. I could feel it as did Rachelle, who had the same panicked look as I did. One of the things that I loved about Jon, was his ability to do what he knew was right, especially when he was tempted to do something else. I know it can be hard to understand, but in that moment I didn't want Jon to do what he was asked. Sure it was easier and I could see him again like I wanted to, but what about Ch'ris and Rachelle? What about the rest of their clan? I saw Zell-oah's smile deepen as she watched Jon painfully try to decide what to do. I prayed to God asking for him to give Jon the strength he needed to make the right choice.
Finally he made his decision. "No." I was somewhat relieved to hear that, and I relaxed a little as I thanked the Lord and the Merciful Master ,Jesus.
"No? Do you not care for your Ooman as I thought you did?" Zell-oah asked perplexed.
"Yes I do, and you better believe I'm coming to get her, but I'm not going to give you Ch'ris. I have a code of honor, that I swore to God I would uphold for his sake, and I'm not about to break it, nor am I about to break just to give a little btch like you the satisfaction." I heard Jon say. If I could say something encouraging or comforting to him right then I would've.
"Is this your answer Abomination? I promise you it shall not end well for your Ooman if it is." She said threateningly. That was a bad mistake.
"This is my final answer. Don't you ever test my honor like that again! and don't you ever think about touching Jenny or Rachelle or else I will hunt you down and kill you!" Jon returned as his mandibles made a snake-like hiss.
"Please? Do you really think I am afraid of your idle threats?" Zell-oah asked smartly.
"It's not a threat. It's a warning. AND GOD HELP YOU IF YOU DO NOT LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE I'M GOING TO SHOVE MY MACHETE DOWN YOUR THROAT AND CUT OUT YOUR MOTHER FCKING SPINE!" Jon hollered before roaring loudly into the wristbracer. The transmission stopped immediately afterward, I could tell he was roaring, cursing, and raising all kinds of hell on the other end.
Zell-oah turned to me and Rachelle with a mildly disappointed look on her face. "Well he was very uncooperative about that. It must be very heartbreaking for you to hear your friend betray you like this." Zell-oah said to me with a pleasant smile. The one bad blood who'd kept me silent had loosened his hold on me allowing me to speak.
"On the contrary, he hasn't abandoned me at all. I know just how badly he wants me back, but he wasn't about to do the wrong thing just to do it. It's one of the things I love about him. I know he still loves me, and I know they'll be coming for us. I also can't wait to see him smash your face in." I sneered.
"Your logic baffles me Oooman, but I see that your faith in him is strong. No matter. We shall see how well he fairs against the trap we lay out for him." Zell-oah had thought ahead. She knew that if her negotiation didn't work her threat to me and Rachelle would, She'd laid us out as bait for them. She had us taken back to the camp, and had some of her hunters coat themselves in mud. She must have caught on to that tactic, which I was sure Jon had used in order to take out the other bad blood's camps. I didn't like this. "Release the hard meats on them for 'zskvy-de'." Zell-oah ordered. By that time I'd figured out what 'zskvy-de' meant.
Rachelle and I looked at each other with the most terrified look we'd ever seen ourselves make. They were going to impregnate us with chestbursters. Rachelle and I tried to struggle, but it was no use, the bad bloods held us down as they brought the facehuggers to us. I said a quick tearful prayer as I was sure this would be the last one I ever said, asking God to comfort me and Rachelle, and that we would find peace in his heavenly home once we died. I also asked that it would be quick and painless, and that Jon would get Zell-oah for this. I didn't manage to finish my prayer, but I gave God one last thank you before the facehugger latched itself onto me.
I was sure that at that moment we would be dead the minute we woke up. I would never get to see Daddy, or Beth, or Jon ever again. I wouldn't even get to say one last goodbye to them all. Daddy and Beth and everyone else back at the facility would be heartbroken, but I knew Jon would take this the most painfully. I was the only friend he deeply cared about since his Hunter Siblings died on Crimer's Ridge, with the exception of Ch'ris and Rachelle. Sure he had gone through this before, but I knew he couldn't take something like that again. That is why he tried so hard to avoid being close to me before, but now he was vulnerable.
I also thought about Rachelle and how distraught Ch'ris would be once he found her. But he had a clan to take care of with a people who loved and cared about him, so he still had something to live for, and could start over. Jon on the other hand, did not. I was sure that he would kill himself after this was over. I felt most sorry for him.
I was surprised however when I woke up to see a bright light shining over me. I also felt an intense pain on my lower abdomen, which I was sure was the chestburster. This wasn't the case however, as I found myself strapped down to a surgery table with a glass case surrounding me and the table I was affixed to. My lower abdominal area was open with these machines working inside of me. I had been saved somehow, and was being operated on. It was painful and agonizing, but I knew that I'd live, so I endured through the pain with submissive gratitude. I was sure that Rachelle was with me, and was being taken care of as I was. I gave my Heavenly Father a gracious thank you, before this gas began filling into the chamber and put me back to sleep. I woke up some time later on the floor of another room with a blanket over me. Rachelle was situated on a bed slab that sat next to me with a cover over her as well.
I moved to get up, but I felt a pain on my stomach area as I tried to move. "Do not move to much ,Jennifer. Lie still, you still need time to heal." I heard a familiar voice tell me.
"Ch'ris?" I asked as I looked up at the Yautja.
"Yes. It is me." He answered.
"What happened?" I questioned as I looked around squinting my eyes. "Where are we?"
"Jon and I came to rescue you, and managed to do so. We are in my ship now. I have also removed the z'skvy-de from you, so do not fear. You shall live, but you shall be weak for some time. Hear drink this." He said handing me a bottle of red glowing stuff, which I drank obediently as he gave it to me. The stuff tasted awful, but I had little energy to react and kept drinking. I felt better after I finished the bottle of medicine.
I continued to look around a little as my eyesight got better, which allowed me to get a good view of Ch'ris' ship. It was a confusing, yet artistically designed interior, with hieroglyphics patterning the surrounding walls. I couldn't properly describe most of them, although I did see a few Predators, some facehuggers, chestbursters, and some fully grown xenomorphs locked in combat. I was sure that some of these hieroglyphics had some mechanical functions, although I couldn't tell since they were so flawlessly designed. One of the xenomorph hieroglyphs that stood next to the florescent ceiling lights looked so real to me when I saw it. I was shocked when it suddenly began moving down the ceiling towards us.
"Do not fear Jennifer. She is mine." Ch'ris said calmly reassuring me. "Come Sa-v'ar this is another friend of ours." He said motioning for the xenomorph to come closer. The creature looked at Ch'ris for a short second, before eyeing me with curious interest. I'd been up close to xenomorphs before, and when I had they'd usually tried to take my head off, so you could see how uncomfortable I was to have this enormous creature standing over me. I was scared, but I didn't show any fear as it looked at me. The creature was a normal xenomorph warrior variant, which had lost it's tail spike, presumably in a fight with another Yautja, and had a symbol marked on it's head. The symbol was a chestburster balled up in a spiraling circle with four intersecting lines fixated on the creature. I remembered seeing this same symbol on Rachelle's bio-mask when I first met her.
The creature tilted it's head from side to side as it continued to inspect me. It exhaled a humid, misty breath causing me to shiver nervously. The monster then backed away in a calm manner before laying down on it's hind legs like a dog. That made me feel a little more relaxed. I didn't despise these things like Jon did, but I still didn't like them.
"Good ,Sa-v'ar." Ch'ris complimented his pet, before running his hand across it's head softly, which the creature seemed to like.
"Will it hurt me or anyone else if you...?" I asked in a terrified yet relaxed manner.
"Do not worry Jennifer. She has your scent and has identified you as an ally. She will not even think to harm you, even if I say so. Jon however, probably not." Ch'ris said. "The two have already met and they do not like each other."
"I can see why." I said with a sarcastic chuckle, which hurt my stomach. "Where is Jon?" I asked Ch'ris curiously.
"He stayed behind to distract the bad bloods, while Sa-v'ar and I brought you and Rachelle to safety. He has not returned since."
"We need to go out there and find him then." I ejected foolishly as I rose to my feet. It hurt just to stand up and walk, but I had to know Jon was safe.
"No ,Jennifer. You mustn't leave. You need to heal." Ch'ris said trying to lay me back down. Even though I was hurting, and it was smarter to do as Ch'ris told me to. I still refused to comply.
"No, I have to find Jon and make sure he's okay." I calmly retorted.
"Listen to me ,Jennifer. I would not worry about Kjon. I am positive he is fine. He is likely on his way back now." Ch'ris said trying to dulcify my anxiety.
"Please, I have to find him." I requested trying to weakly fight Ch'ris' grasp.
"Jennifer, listen, you are wounded. You need time to rest and heal from your injuries. I wouldn't worry about Kjon. I've seen that Yatja fight with the ferocity of a hundred kiande amedha. I am sure that if they have found him they have not managed to succeed in capturing him." Ch'ris explained.
"Are you sure?" I asked with worry on my face.
"Yes, completely. In fact I would have more reason to worry for Zell-oah and her group than him. Do not worry. Please, just come and lie down, I shall prepare you food." Ch'ris said as he walked me back to the cushioned corner he'd positioned me at earlier.
Rachelle began to stir as Ch'ris laid me back down. "What about Rachelle?" I inquired anxiously.
"I have also removed the parasite from her as well and disposed of the Abomination. She will live also. Do not worry, just rest." Ch'ris calmed me. "Sa-v'ar guard them, and ensure that no one harms them." He ordered his xenomorph as he made some hand signals to it. The creature hissed in compliance, before getting up and moved next to Rachelle, and protectively guarded us. I was actually beginning to like this thing. I could tell that Jon wouldn't be comfortable with it, but I felt somewhat safe as it stood over me and Rachelle defensively.
Ch'ris returned a moment later with a plate of food for me composed of fruits, vegetables, and meats. I wasn't feeling to hungry, but I partook of it gratefully, as not to insult him. I also knew I needed something on my stomach and even went as far as to eat the meat.
Rachelle awoke an hour later. Sa-v'ar and I hovered over her comfortingly. "Rachelle, are you alright?" I asked concerned.
"Yes, but I feel like cjit." that meant sht. I chuckled a little, as I wrapped my tail comfortably wrapped around her hand.
"Don't worry we'll be alright. We're in your ship now, and Ch'ris has removed the z'skvy-de." I said struggling to pronounce the word.
"That is good." Rachelle replied before coughing up some green blood.
"Take it easy there ,Rachelle." I told her calmly. "Sa-v'ar go get Ch'ris." I spoke. The xenomorph tilted it's head confused, but quickly understood what I'd told it and hissed, before running off to find Ch'ris. "It's alright Rachelle. Ch'ris is coming." I said as I stood over her catching her blood with my blanket.
"Rachelle." Ch'ris called out as he entered the room with Sa-v'ar.
"Ch'ris." Rachelle called out to her husband with a weak smile. He quickly poured another bottle of that foul tasting red liquid and knelt down next to his wife and helped her drink the stuff. I moved over allowing Ch'ris to work his medicine.
"How are you feeling my lovely Gkei'moun R'ka (Easy Fire)?" Ch'ris asked his wife as he tenderly hugged her.
"Like cjit." She replied sarcastically.
"She was coughing up blood before you came in." I said showing Ch'ris the blanket. He clicked his mandibles with nervous regard, before continuing to operate on his wife. He mixed a few of his medicines together before cutting her open once more with a sharp tool. He then applied the liquid on the wound, which I saw burn her. I made no move to stop him. I knew he knew what he was doing and that he wasn't deliberately trying to hurt Rachelle. She needed this treatment, but I helped to comfort her as she convulsed and roared painfully. "It's alright Rachelle you're gonna be fine." I said resting my hand on her sweating head as she breathed heavily.
"There. You shall be alright my love." Ch'ris said in a reassuring tone, before administering another dose of that red liquid to her. The color began to return to her face almost immediately. The stuff that Ch'ris had poured onto Rachelle's wound had continued to burn and fizz until it had formed a hard rock-like formation, cauterizing the wound. Rachelle began to breath easier which gave me some relief. "There. Are you alright now ,my Gkei'moun R'ka (Easy Fire)?" Ch'ris asked Rachelle again.
"Yes. I feel much better now ,my Yeyin Ju'dha Bhu'ja (Brave Water Spirit)." Rachelle answered softly, as she looked at him with her blazing blue eyes. Ch'ris returned it with a soft look in his green eyes. They embraced each other, and locked their mandibles together in a kiss. I couldn't help, but watch with a passionate smile. I know I may have been indecent, but I was just glad to see my friend was alive and well, and happily beside her husband. Besides I don't think they cared. "I love you Ch'ris." Rachelle told him.
"I love you too ,Rachelle. I missed you so much." He told her as he hugged her. It was so sweet watching them.
"Where is Kjon?" She asked noticing he was missing.
"He stayed behind so that Sa-v'ar and I could save you both. I would not worry though. I believe he shall return to us safely." Ch'ris answered with a positive look in his eye.
Ch'ris examined me some time later and declared that I'd completely healed. He seemed surprised by my recovery. I wasn't so surprised given that this hadn't been the first time I'd made such a remarkably fast recovery. Rachelle was still weak from the operation, and continued to need attention every now and then to make sure she was still well. We all spent the next few hours patiently waiting for Jon to return. He didn't show up that night. While everyone else was confident he was fine, and had only gotten lost, I was legitimately worried for him. I knew he was a strong Yautja, but I couldn't help myself. I just cared about him that much. It'd been so long since I'd been close to him, I just felt so anxious to see him again. I waited inside the door of the ship, waiting and watching for any sign of Jon. I jumped at every sound I heard, and every movement I swore I saw. Ch'ris could see my worry and came to offer some comforting encouragement. I jumped instinctively when I saw him standing next to me.
"It is just me. I'm sorry for approaching you without alerting you." He apologized.
"No it's alright. I'm just a little on edge right now. I just... I just want him back that's all. I'm sorry if I'm upsetting you and Rachelle." I apologized.
"You do not need to apologize my friend. I understand perfectly well how you feel right now. Believe me I am anxious to see him myself."
"You are?"
"Yes. He and I became close and trusted friends while we searched for you. You know he was worried about you, even more so than you are for him now. He did not know what had become of you. You should have seen his persistent spirit, I tell you he was a ferocious warrior. He did not stop for anything until he found you. He was also a clever hunter too. I must be honest with you, if it weren't for him, neither you or Rachelle or even I would still be alive." Ch'ris explained with joyful charisma as the memories of the weeks that passed by came back to him.
"He is special, isn't he?" I said nonchalantly.
"How can you say that about him like that. He cares deeply for you. I've seen how angry he was when he was without you. I've seen him fight ferociously to save us. Cjit! He is a blessed accepted member of the Schaefer family." Ch'ris exposited as he sat down on the other side of the room.
"I know. You're right. I'm just..." I sighed pacing back and forth. "He saved my life so many times now, and I just want to let him know how much I love and appreciate him. I just... I want to be with him. It's been so long since I've been close to him, you know."
"He was the exact same way with you, my friend. Only he was much less tempered then you are, I shall say."
"Indeed he was." Rachelle materialized around the corner of the room with Sa-v'ar. "He could barely hold his temper each time we found a camp without you. I am surprised he was tempered enough not to harm me or Ch'ris."
"Aren't you supposed to be resting?" Ch'ris inquired with a smart look in his eye.
"I could not sleep. Besides I figured I may help my mate offer some encouragement to my friend." She said as sat next to her husband, and gave him a seductive look. Ch'ris chuckled, and nuzzled his mandibles lovingly on her forehead.
"You guys don't need to pity me." I said trying not to sound rude.
"You have been through much just as we all have. Please do not push us away. We are here to comfort you." Rachelle purred.
"Thank you both. I'm just worried that's all."
"We understand how you feel completely." Rachelle replied
"No I'm afraid you don't. At least not in the same way that I am." I began. "You know, it's hard to see someone who's as good and selfless as he is struggle the way I've seen him. He's given so much for the people on this planet, and yet after how much he's sacrificed and after everyone he's lost, most of the humans on this planet won't give a damn about him. You don't know what it's like to have to see Jon wake up screaming, and roaring like something is attacking him even though nothing is even there. And to hear him cry like a child for help, because he can't remember where he is and because he couldn't remember what just happened. I've seen him when he's like that. He looks so helpless and out of control, and when you see him like that and it makes chills run down your spine, yet at the same time you just feel so sorry for him. It's not something fun to see, believe me. I even had to fight him just to keep him under control once." I explained as flashbacks of that night replayed over and over in my mind. "I know you guys are different and you like to see bravery rewarded through such adversity, but he's been through so much already. He's had to bury his mother when he was only seven. The company my dad works with turned him into an Abomination. He's been used as a soldier for a people that are so alien and hostile to him, and the only other humans who have cared about him are either dead, or have been completely cut off from him. He's had to live with a guilt complex for eight whole years thinking he is responsible for the deaths of his friends. Not to mention the dishonor he's carried from himself just by existing, and the dishonor he inherited from his mother. And take into account that none of this is his fault. All of this yet he's still only a young teenager by your standards. He's been through so much adversity now, he just needs a break." I finished.
Ch'ris and Rachelle looked at each other with a wide eyed expression, clicking their mandibles with regard. "He has explained this to us, but not to such detail as you have." Ch'ris said with a shaken look in his green eyes.
"Like I've said he's spent so much time around people who don't care, despite all he's done for them. He's had to deal with it for so long now he just doesn't bother asking for help, because he knows they just don't care. I didn't realize that when I first met him and I treated him pretty poorly even though he saved me so many times, and feed me and took good care of me when I couldn't even take care of myself. Once I found that out I just... I just felt guilty. And that's why I worry about him so much. After everything we did to him, he hasn't done anything to us humans. That's also why I love him, because he's so selfless, so easy, so caring, considerate, and just so good. Still he continues to be treated like an outcast, like some kind of hideous monster." A moment of silence passed between us after I explained that.
"We are sorry Jennifer. We did not know." Ch'ris said apologetically.
"Don't be. You didn't know. If anything I'm the one that should be sorry." I explained.
"It is disgraceful. No such hunter, Abomination or otherwise, should be treated so poorly." Ch'ris flared his mandibles.
Rachelle came and patted my shoulder before sitting next to me. "This Yatja is more special than we thought he was. If what you say is true, and we believe it is, then you treat him like the good and honorable being he deserves to be treated as." She told me before standing up next to her mate who stood above us. She looked at her mate to emphasize that statement.
"That's what I'm trying to do." I said.
"Do not fret my friend for what my mate has told me of Kjon. We should not have to worry about him. He is strong, very strong. He has a mighty will, and an even mightier faith in his god." Rachelle told me.
"All of which make a fury that I've seen burn brighter than the stars at night." Ch'ris followed. "Trust us Jennifer. So long as he has someone to care for, like you and us, and so long as his god continues to strengthen him, he shall never stop fighting." Ch'ris said with a spiritual emphasis, reminding me of how Jon would speak whenever he read his Bible out loud. That made me smile. I felt comforted by their testimonies. I gave them a nod of appreciation to show it.
"Come to bed ,Jennifer. You are still weak and tired just as we are. I believe we shall hear from Kjon soon enough." Ch'ris assured me, helping me to my feet.
"You're right. Let's get some sleep." I said in agreement with them. Before I dossed off to sleep that night. I gave God another thankful prayer. I said a lot of them in that time. I thanked him for allowing Jon and Ch'ris to have the strength to save us from the bad bloods, and for their ability to keep us alive after what Zell-oah did to us. I continued asking him to bless Ch'ris and Rachelle, and that Jon would continue to remain safe in his travels. I finished with a happy and reverent Amen, before lying down on the matted flooring Ch'ris had provided for me.
I heard the voice whisper in my head again as I drifted off to sleep. "Don't worry Jenny. He's alright. We'll continue to keep Jon safe. Don't you worry about him. You'll see him again very shortly. Everything will be alright." I also thanked that voice for it's reassuring message.
"Good night ,Jon." I softly whispered before sleep took me over.
Okay done with yet another chapter. I'll be honest. for how long I took with this one I'm surprised with how quickly I managed to get done with it. Once again I am sorry for any typos I have made, but luckily I am now going to continue to write these entries on my computer, because it helps me see when I make a spelling mistake and it is easier to write and correct with. I am still no where near the finishing point in this series, and I was expecting to be a little farther in, but it looks like I'm going to need to save that for the next chapter. Also NeverNeverGirl thank you for continuing to post your comments on the story. I'm glad you are enjoying the series, and I once again apologize for any typo mistakes. Other than that I hope you enjoy this entry. And I hope you had a Happy New Year.
