Jennifer's Diary
June 21, 2621
Jon was still gone when I awoke the next morning. It was early enough that the sun wasn't even in the sky yet when I woke up, which I'd learned to make a habit of after spending two months training with him. I didn't have a way to tell time, nor did I know how to read Yautja text so I just guessed that it was either three or four in the morning. I sat at the front of the ship and looked out around the jungle the same as I'd done the day before. I knew for sure that Jon was alright and on his way back, but I was still worried for him. He'd had nightmares and episodes all the time when we were at Cardona Valley, and I just hoped he wasn't enduring through any while he was on his way.
After a couple hours of waiting I was approached by Rachelle. "What are you doing awake at such an hour ,Jenny?" She asked as she walked towards me.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you up Rachelle." I apologized.
"You have no need to apologize my friend. I just woke up. I was just wondering what you were doing awake at such an early time." She excused me.
"After training with a colonial marine for over two months, you learn to wake up at early hours." I said trying to sound sarcastic.
"You are still worried about Kjon, are you not?" Rachelle inquired as she sat beside me. I knew she knew the answer to that question before she asked it.
"There's nothing else that I know I can do. So I'm just sitting here and waiting," I explained truthfully. "Seriously, I'm sorry if I'm disturbing you and Ch'ris."
"Jenny, you do not need to continue to apologize so needlessly for things like this. I will admit I have no understanding of your worry for Kjon, but I am your friend. I am simply here to offer you comfort and aid. What else is there that I can do for you as your friend?" Rachelle did have a very good point with that inquiry.
"I don't know. I'm just... I thought he'd be back by now that's all." I said.
"Have patience my friend. It is like my mate says, 'Wisdom is the key to victory, and those who master it's virtues shall achieve victory in their own way. Those who master the virtue of patience shall persevere through time and long-suffering'." She quoted.
I turned to her with a friendly smile on my face. "I guess I haven't mastered the virtue of patience ,yet. Have I?" Rachelle vibrated her mandibles in a soft chuckle.
"Do not feel ashamed of that my friend. I too, am learning that value. It is one of the reasons why Ch'ris calls me Gkei'moun R'ka (Easy Fire)." I knew what the words meant. She'd taught me some of the Yautja language while we were imprisoned by the bad bloods. She was still teaching me how to read and write the language, but from what she'd taught me so far, I could be able to speak the language. I will admit I had some difficulty given my 'Ooman' dialect, but I could still speak it, and I could also understand it's spoken meaning. "I am not the most patient hunter. I am very often impatient and easily angered in combat. Although Ch'ris has taught me to avoid such reactions in a healthy manner."
"Sounds almost like he is your teacher, and not just your mate." I spoke curiously.
"He in a way is." Rachelle explained.
"What's your guys' story?" I asked with interest.
Rachelle huffed a sigh before beginning. "You see, I wasn't a born member of the Vall-kcor'sta clan. I was actually born from one of the honorable clans that existed on Yatja prime. I belonged to a small secluded village that belonged to this clan you see. We were not poor, or anything of that nature, very few of our settlements actually endure poverty. It was just random chance that this village became more isolated than other small communities. I was just born into the village when we were besieged by a pack of dishonorable, fugitive bad bloods. They were after our resources and any suitable individuals they could find and take as slaves. While they did take much of what we had, none of the clan's members were found as desirable laborers, and all of them were slain; the males, the females, and even the sucklings. Except for me, I was lucky that day. These hunters had also happened to have caused trouble for Ch'ris' father ,Va-saka, and he'd set out to hunt them down. He along with a small group of other hunters had tracked them to my village, and destroyed them all. Va-saka saved me that day. I was taken in by the clan and raised within Va-saka's home. He never treated me as any of his legitimate offspring, but he still demonstrated a deep care for me. Later as I grew older I grew a desire to become a huntress. There are many huntresses in every clan, but many of us females-as well as many males-either do not have the physical capability or the desire to become hunters, so their skills are put to other uses. The females of our species who do not become huntresses are either trained as mistresses for when it is time for them to be chosen as mates and concubines, or they become laborers. There are also a great number of males who are laborers, perhaps even more so then there are females. Laborers build our cities, prepare our food, smith our weapons and armor, and sew our clothes. They are essentially our 'middle class' as you would call them, and their work is very vital for the continuation of the clan's progression." Rachelle explained in great detail. "I wanted to become a huntress though, so I could provide more honor to the clan who had saved me and taken me in as one of their own. I wanted to prove my capabilities as a seasoned warrior and tracker, although my temperance for learning was lacking. I was also mocked by the fellow students for my inabilities, and because I was not a blood born member of the clan. I got angry with them because of this and quarrel with them often. Fortunately I had Ch'ris as a fellow student, and we quickly became close friends. He helped me learn to be more patient, confident, and observant to the teachings we were given. He was patient like this with me. He is calm and collected like a gentle stream of water, whereas I was-and still am-harsh and tempestuous like raging fire. Because of this and his brave nature, he was given the epithet Yeyin Ju'dha Bhu'ja (Brave Water Spirit), while I was given the surname Kiande R'ka Sain'ja (Hard Fire Warrior). Ch'ris however calls me Gkei'moun R'ka (Easy Fire), because whenever I am around him I am not hard or wroth. I enjoyed being close to him, and I appreciated the guidance he gave. Because of him I managed to overcome my indecency and was able become the huntress that I am now. We continued our training, and by the time we were of proper age and skill we were tested."
"And by that you mean you underwent the rite of passage your kind normally takes to prove themselves as worthy blooded adult members of the clan." I said in a inquiring manner.
"That is correct. Like all Yatja hunters, we were to hunt the most dangerous game. The kiande amedha, or as you call them ,Xenomuph" Rachelle said struggling to pronounce Xenomorph.
"How did it go?"
Rachelle sputtered a laugh as she remembered her first hunt like it was yesterday. "I succeeded in my trial as did most of my other fellow hunters that I was assigned with. I was the 'bruiser' as you Oomans would say. I was the strong bodied angry individual, who enjoyed the challenge, but I had the sense to follow my pack leader as obediently as I could, unlike most of my hunting party. My party was no different to me than those I trained with, and they mocked and spat at me just the same. I had become used to it, but I still did not like being treated as an outcast. But when many of them disobeyed our trainer, and became overwhelmed, I saved them." Rachelle explained with a satisfied smile wrapped around her mandibles.
"Jokes on them I guess." I said sharing her enthusiasm. "Karma's a btch, isn't she?" Rachelle had known me long enough to understand some human terms, and gave a hearty laugh with me. Once we both called down she continued.
"Needless to say, I was successful in my first hunt. Ch'ris ,on the other hand, surpassed us all. His hunting party ran into many problems and accidently unleashed a queen who's seed spread rapidly. Most of his hunting party had died, including the hunting party leader, but he managed himself, and took over the responsibility as the leader of what few surviving members there were. He claimed many trophies as he did so. The best of his accomplishments came when he single handedly slaughtered the queen, as a rescue ship arrived to retrieve them. Once he and the remaining members of the hunting party were brought back and the clan found out about his achievements..." Rachelle snorted a chuckle. "You should have seen how they adored him. How proud everyone was of him. How proud Va-saka was. A celebration was even held in the honor of his triumph. In saving the remaining members of his party, and slaying a queen on his own, Ch'ris rose to the rank of an elite, which is a higher ranking than what most young bloods who survive their first hunt receive. Every one knew that the chosen heir to Va-saka's throne would keep the clan in good hands. I was one of the members invited to attend this momentous colloquium. Unfortunately the feast did not end on a happy note. Even at that time we had to deal with dishonorable dissenters just as we do now. Some of them had planned an assassination attempt on Va-saka, and Ch'ris. I managed to save Ch'ris, but Va-saka... He was given the honorable burial that he deserved, and Ch'ris became the new clan leader. I spent months tracking the shameful pauks (fcks) who'd done this and I killed them all with a hateful savagery that burned inside of me like fire. I was awarded for this and became one of Ch'ris' guards. I graciously accepted the honor, not just because it itself was a great honor, or that I was serving the clan that had saved me when I was but a suckling, but I had another reason." Rachelle continued
"You loved him." I guessed intelligently.
"He showed the same fondness for me as well. Our friendship had grown since our time training together as pups. We were fully developed members of our clan now, but our attachment for each other had only gotten stronger with time. When we had the chance to express ourselves privately, we did so. I accepted his affectionate gestures, and he did the same for me. We went on many hunts together when we could, and eventually Ch'ris grew to love me as his mate." Rachelle continued smiling passionately, before she chuckled a laugh. "He was so nervous when he asked me if I would be his life-mate. He had managed to take care of the clan for many years at that time, and had fought back many invasions and revolts, yet he was so nervous simply to ask me to be his mate."
"And you accepted his proposal." I said.
"Yes. His father helped to raise me. He was a loyal and protective friend of mine. He was a patient teacher, and helped me to become the huntress I wished to be. That and he only wanted me. Many clan leaders in our society can choose to have many concubines, or a single mate. Ch'ris only wanted one, and I was that one. He promised me he'd never have another mate except for me. He did all of this for me because he loved me. That and being the chosen mate of a clan leader is a mighty honor. How could I resist accepting him?" Rachelle asked as she finished her story.
"So you've faced some tragedy in your lives too?" I inquired stupidly.
"It could be worse for us ,Jenny. Thankfully our gods have been merciful to us, and we are managing. Besides what individual lives their entire life free of calamity?" Rachelle asked nonchalantly.
"Well I have. For the last nineteen years I've been alive, I've been free from any kind of trouble. My dad is a very powerful and wealthy human. He loved me unlike anyone else he ever knew, so he gave me everything I ever could have wanted, and he kept me safe. I was basically treated like royalty. I also turned out to be something of a brat because of it. Sure I've tried to do some good and make my life meaningful, which it is, but... but what could it compare to the real heroes. The marines were giving their lives for us day and night, while we just ignored their sacrifices for us, heck we've even made them out to be outcasts. It's still happening right now." I explained. "You know the more I think about what I've learned in the past few months I've come to find out just how truly fortunate I was to be blinded from all of it." I said.
"You truly are ,Jenny. More than you believe you are." Rachelle said to me.
"I'm going to change all of that when I get home though." I said.
"As you should. It's shameful to let such deeds continue to go unpunished." Rachelle told me. "But you are a good and caring soul, I have no doubt you will do what you know it correct." She commented.
We continued like this for most of the morning, as we waited by the door to the ship. Ch'ris awoke sometime later, and graciously prepared us breakfast. They helped me take my mind off of how worried I was for Jon. Once we finished though, I went back to my perch. Ch'ris and Rachelle stayed by me and we continued to talk as we waited. We watched the morning sun stretch over the horizon beautifully as we sat inside the door of the ship. Eventually our banter turned to silence as we anxiously waited.
Finally Rachelle asked impatiently, "Where could Kjon possibly be?"
"Have patience Gkei'moun R'ka (Easy Fire)." Ch'ris said gently touching his mate's hand before rubbing his mandibles lovingly across her forehead. "I am sure he will find a way back to us." He continued to speak optimistically as he moved outside the ship.
"Like putting a three foot stick in the ground just to make a compass." Came a familiar voice from outside the ship. We all jumped eagerly as we heard him. "Yeah I was dumb and got myself lost." He continued in a joking manner.
I jumped outside the ship with hopeful anticipation, and turned. It was Jon. "Jon!" I called out with a bright smile on my face. I could fell tears of joy begin to stream down my face as I saw his stupid mask's smiley face.
"Jenny." Jon called out in a soft and comforted voice, as he pulled his mask off. I could finally see his face again as that adorable smile of his wrapped brightly around his mandibles. We charged after each other, before catching each other. He held me up with one arm under me allowing me to sit on it, and the other he wrapped around my lower back keeping me secure in his grasp as he gently twirled me around in the air. He kept me suspended comfortably like that as we faced each other. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders and his neck, as I joyfully sobbed over him. It had been so long since I'd seen him, I just couldn't help myself. I couldn't believe that this moment had finally arrived and we could finally embrace one other. "I missed you so so much. Pyode Tarei'hsan." He told me with a whimper in his voice as we nuzzled our foreheads together.
"I missed you too ,Jon." I told him lovingly.
His smile then dropped in a frown as he apologized to me. "I'm sorry I had to give you up like that. I didn't want to let you go, but I wasn't going to give them Ch'ris. I'm so so sorry."
"It's alright ,Jon. I'm not upset. I didn't want you to do it either." I told him as we comforted each other. "I know you didn't abandon me. Thank you." I told him. We held each other tightly in another firm hug. I felt his one hand that he held me close to him with, move to the back of my head as he gently pawed my hair with his claws. His lower mandibles tickled the back of my neck and shoulder as they vibrated happily in a soft growl.
"Where were you ,Kjon? Jenny was worried about you." Rachelle asked as she approached us.
"I decided it was a good idea to forget my paper map and got my dumb-ass lost." Jon replied jokingly as he gently lowered me to the ground. "It's good to see you again ,Rachelle." He said putting his arm on her shoulder before shaking it, which was a common way their species greeted one another.
"It is good to see you too. Thank you." Rachelle replied before taking a knee, and bowing to him in respectful gratitude.
Ch'ris approached us and gave Jon a respectful shoulder pat greeting of his own. "Thank you ,my friend, for helping me save my mate, and for saving my life once more. I am truly grateful and indebted to you ,Kjon." Ch'ris said, before he gave a respectful bow himself.
"Any time ,Ch'ris. Any time." Jon replied also giving a respectful bow to them.
"Tell me though, what became of the bad bloods and Zell-oah?" Ch'ris asked with concern.
"I took most of them out. I didn't get your sister, but I sure pissed her off good." Jon chuckled with a smile.
Ch'ris seemed more concerned about that news. Jon dropped his smile and continued to listen with both of his ears open, or whatever he had for ears. "Then our hunt is not over yet ,my friend. Zell-oah must be found and punished for everything she has done to us." Ch'ris said in a serious, but relaxed voice. "But lest us rest for now. These past weeks have been very agonizing for us all."
"Sounds like a good idea to me." Jon said wrapping his arm around my arm and smiled down at me. Ch'ris did the same for Rachelle.
As we all moved to go inside ,however, I felt Jon's claw cut into me, as he roared out in pain. We turned to see what the commotion was, before we were swatted back by something. After I recovered, I saw what it was. They were Predaliens. Abominations as the Yautja would call them. One of them had ambushed Jon and impaled him in the chest with it's tail. The other had batted us away, and was facing us. It flared it's mandibles in a roaring hiss that I'd never heard a Xenomorph, or a Predator make before. Jon was thrown away by the creature that had attacked him, and he landed on the ground, holding his wound as he saw the beasts.
"There is no need for that ,brother." We heard Zell-oah's voice. Her cloaked silhouette revealed itself as she turned off her camouflage. "I am right here, and I have brought two pets of my own. Meet Ver-ia, and Sea'se-sha." She said motioning to the Predaliens. The enormous creatures flocked to her as she whistled for them, and began stroking their massive craniums. Sa-v'ar had thankfully caught on to the trouble and had crawled outside and perched herself on top of the ship. Once she was at the right angle she pounced, only to be caught by one of the creatures in it's huge claws and thrown away. The beast continued to attack and easily overpowered the smaller and much weaker xenomorph. "Good Sea'se-sha." Zell-oah complimented her pet. She held her control over the monster though and kept it from killing Sa-v'ar. Once the beast finished weakening it's smaller opponent, it pinned Sa-v'ar down keeping her from getting up and recovering.
Rachelle sprang to her feet and darted towards the Abomination to save her pet xenomorph. She was in over her head though, and was stabbed in the leg before she could make it. Rachelle fell to the ground, before she was grabbed by her arms and thrown away. I ran to her and began administered treatment to her injury. Thankfully Jon's lessons also came with some first aid practice. It wasn't as effective, nor as efficient as Ch'ris' medicine was, but a rub of alcohol, some stitching, and a bandage did the trick.
Once Rachelle had been stabbed and thrown, Ch'ris leapt to his feet and ran to confront his sister. "Zell-oah stop this! I am the one you are after! Leave them be and let us finish this!" He said challengingly as he prepared to fight. The other Predalien moved between them and snarled it's drooling mandibles. Zell-oah held the beast back and soothed it with a comforting scratch on it's shoulder.
"Do not worry ,Ch'ris. I am not going to harm them. Sea'se-sha was simply protecting me. I shall not have her or Ver-ia harm them." She told him. "As for you ,dear brother, it is your lucky day. I am after a new target. One that has been more troublesome to me than you have." Zell-oah spoke pleasantly, before turning her masked face towards Jon with an irritated growl. He looked up at her knowing very well who she was referring to. "I want him instead."
"No!" I protested loudly before recklessly charging at Zell-oah, forgetting the 1,000 pound behemoth standing in front of me. The creature wrapped it's tail around me, pinning my arms to my sides, before lifting me above the ground to constrict me. Ch'ris came to aid me but the other creature grabbed him by the leg and threw him away.
"Sea'se-sha. Ver-ia. Come to mother." Zell-oah called for them. They obediently replied. The one that had me and Sa-v'ar, released the weakened xenomorph, but keeping me in the coils of it's powerful tail as it walked back to it's master on it's hind legs. The monsters bowed their heads to her, for an affectionate pat. Ch'ris recovered for another attack, but the one Abomination overpowered him once more. It pinned him down and threatened to puncture him with it's inner jaw as I continued to be crushed in the other creature's powerful tail.
"Stop!" Jon called out as he weakly rose to his feet. "If she wants me to fight her and her pets, I will!" Jon accepted Zell-oah's challenge bravely with a snarl. "Let them go first!" Jon said in our defense.
"Very well then. Sea'se-sha. Ver-ia. Come." Zell-oah called for her pets, who threw us away, as they obediently returned.
"Stay out of this you guys. It's me she's after now." Jon told us. He prepared himself for the fight by jabbing a heath shard into his chest, before quickly bandaging the wound. For as much pain as he was in at that moment, he did his best to tolerate it and not display it.
"What are you doing ,Kjon?!" Ch'ris interjected with a wide-eyed expression on his face.
"A wise suggestion ,Abomination. However I shall not be participating in this altercation. You shall be battling my Abominations. That should make things more fair, shouldn't it?" Zell-oah said, knowing full well that such was not the case, and that Jon's odds of winning were next to nothing.
"I can accept that." Jon said in agreeance with a sneer. Ch'ris and Rachelle called out in disapproval, but Jon payed no mind to their panicked objections.
"What is the matter?" I asked Ch'ris curiously as he stood next to Rachelle.
"He is facing off against two Abominations. They are much stronger than any kiande amedha, or Yatja alive. Only the strongest, most experienced, and well equipped hunters go after them. Facing off against two is hopeless and foolish. For the hunter that Jon is, he is still young and hopelessly weak, especially now that he is injured." Ch'ris explained to me with a foreboding look. That made me fearful.
Jon then did something unexpected that made our pigments turn whiter than Zell-oah's ghostly skin. He began removing all of his weapons and armor, and heaped them into a pile, with his health shards. My voice quickly joined Ch'ris and Rachelle's, telling him to stop. He didn't listen. At the same time Zell-oah was laughing her ass off. She couldn't help but cackle maniacally as she watched Jon bravely disarm himself.
"What are you doing? Have you gone mad ,Abomination? Do you not realize what you are going up against?" Zell-oah asked sputtering her words.
"I know very well. I've fought one before." Jon said not even flinching. I remembered saying a hopeful prayer in my mind as I watched the scene continue to unfold. I'm sure Jon was also as he stood there breathing heavily with his eyes locked ferociously onto the two enormous monsters he was about to fight.
"Very well then ,Abomination. Let us test this confidence of yours." Zell-oah said without any disagreement.
We continued to order and beg Jon to stop this. There was no possible way he would win this. Jon hadn't even fully healed from the injuries he sustained yesterday. Even if he didn't sustain the punishing blow he just took, there was no way he could even hope to succeed. These beasts were just to strong. If he had his weapons, at least his machete, maybe he would have some chance. Ch'ris had explained that only the strongest, most experienced, and well-equipped hunters go after these things. Even for how incredible he was in a fight, I knew this would be to much for him in the state he was in. It was suicide.
Jon knew that we were correct, and that this idea was foolish. But for how much pain he was in and what he was about to face, Jon showed no concern for his well being. He showed this when he momentarily glanced at us. I could see it in his one cyan blue eye that he starred at us with. Jon was only worried about us. He was doing this with honor, but more importantly he was doing this to protect us, because he loved us. It was what he did best. He showed me that as I looked deeply into his gorgeous blue eye. It was a courageous, gentle, and comforting look. Just as he did I heard the comforting voice whisper to me, "Don't worry. He'll be fine. He knows what to do. It'll be alright. He will win."
Jon then turned his sights back to Zell-oah and the Predaliens. I saw this look in his fiery red pupil. I watched it as it's glare burned onto his enemies with blazing rage. It was terrifying, even more so than Zell-oah and the two Predaliens. It gave a look of angry readiness and ferocious anticipation, which told us and his enemies that he wasn't backing down from this fight. He never had before and he certainly wasn't going to do so now. I never noticed how symbolical his eyes were to his character.
"Are you ready ,Abomination?" Zell-oah asked.
"Yes." Jon replied, flaring his mandibles while arching his back forward, which was a common sign among his species that demonstrated aggression.
"Very well. Sea'se-sha! Ver-ia! Kill him!" Zell-oah ordered before activating her camouflage and exiting the arena. Ch'ris and I wisely decided to do the same. I helped him carry Rachelle inside, before he helped his wounded xenomorph.
The battle began instantly after Zell-oh gave her order. The Predaliens wasted no time charging towards Jon on all fours. He stood his ground and patiently waited for them both to make their first moves. Both creatures leapt at him, but he ducked just as they did, and they passed harmlessly over him. He managed to catch one of the Abominations by the tail and used it's momentum to throw it away. It did little to faze the monster, but it allowed him to focus on the other creature which stood over him on it's hind legs and prepared to swat at him with one of it's claws. He blocked the blow with his arm, before twisting it around the Predalien's limb, and moved his feet under it, skillfully tripping it. By that time the other creature had gotten back to it's feet and was charging at him like it had before. Jon expertly used the Predalien he'd tripped and threw it into the path of the other one causing them to collide into one another. Rachelle cheered a hiss as she saw Jon crash the beasts' heads together. Jon moved backward to gain some distance on the beasts as they got back to their feet. One of them managed to get up before the other, and attacked, swiping at him viciously with it's claws. He dodged the blows, before catching one of it's arms and maneuvered his body around to judo throw the enormous monstrosity, which he managed to do successfully.
The other Abomination took that opportunity to grab Jon by his unbraided dreadlocks, and effortlessly throw him away. The creature moved towards him on it's hind legs as he recovered, and prepared to strike him. Jon recovered quickly enough, and held his arms protectively over his face as he ran at the monster's legs and caused it to fall. He landed behind the Predalien, right where it's tail was, which he caught as the beast was about to drive it into his skull. The other Predalien was back on it's feet also and took a stab at Jon with it's tail. It managed to dig into his right arm causing him to release the other creature's tail. That Predalien then kicked him in the face, causing him to land next to the one that had stabbed him. The beast brought it's foot up to stomp his head in, but he rolled away as the creature brought its foot down. Jon got back up and tried to tackle the Predalien. The 10 foot tall behemoth held it's footing, and picked Jon up with it's massive hands and threw him into a tree, which broke into splinters as he hit it. Jon was unable to get up in time to see the Abomination as it pounced at him, allowing it to tackle him. Jon was able to react intelligently and moved his feet under the brute's torso before lifting up with his feet, using it's forward momentum to carry it off of him. The other Predalien was right behind it's friend as he did that, giving it the chance to quickly grab him by the throat and pin him up against another tree. Jon held the beast's enormous head back with his arm on it's throat as it shot it's inner jaw at him repeatedly. Jon's strength held on though and the creature quickly gave up that idea and moved it's other arm around, grabbing his head.
I read somewhere in a file on special xenomorph behavior that some extraordinary xenomorph variations are able to inherit a form of genetic memory from their host, which causes them to act peculiar at times. Predaliens are one such variant that has this trait, which causes them to avoid interaction with other hives almost entirely, and trophy hunt instead.
I realized this at that moment and knew that the creature was trying to tear his head off. We watched helplessly as the creature attempted to use all of it's strength to rip his head off as a trophy. Ch'ris had grabbed a combi-stick before he'd joined me and Rachelle to observe the fight. He brought it out just in case he had to help his friend, and although he'd reluctantly agreed to let Jon handle this on his own, he wasn't going to let his dishonorable sister take the battle like this. I watched him nervously clasp the weapon firmly with his claws as he spectated the fight.
Jon looked at the creature's face, and roared. I thought it was out of pain, when it was actually out of anger. Ch'ris was about to run out and help Jon, before we saw him kick the creature hard in the kneecap, digging his toe claws into the creature's leg. The beast let out a shrill hiss of pain, as it loosened it's hold on Jon. That allowed him to kick the Predalien in the torso sending it back a few feet releasing him. Jon maneuvered one of his arms over the creature's shoulders and grabbed at it's dreadlocks. He then took hold of the Predalien's left forelimb and drove the Abomination into the tree. The monster's head left a break in the tree's trunk. We all sighed in relief as we saw it. Jon wisely retreated as the other one charged after him, running towards the ship as he did. Just as it looked like he was pinned, and the Predalien jumped to tackle him, he threw himself to the side causing the creature to launch itself into the side of the ship, which left a visible dent. Ch'ris cheered a roar as Jon cleverly outsmarted the beast. His praise was to soon, as the other Abomination was on top of him. The creature tried to stomp it's foot down on him like before, but he moved away in time. The Predalien threw it's powerful tail at him, only managing to scratch his arm with that strike. The Predalien quickly grabbed Jon before he could recover, and slammed him repeatedly into the side of the ship. It stopped, lifted him up with one of it's claws, and slashed his chest, cutting into him and leaving three parallel marks on his upper torso. The monster then threw him down on the ground hard before lowering it's head down to try and head bite him again. Like before however he managed to hold the creature back. The other behemoth had fully recovered from it's collision with the ship, and moved in front of it's friend to drive it's tail through him.
Ch'ris was about to run out to help once more, before we saw Jon make a spectacular recovery. He saw the other Predalien, and cleverly moved his head forward managing to dodge the Abomination's tail, and brilliantly caught the other one's inner jaw in his tusked mouth. We gasped as we thought that inner jaw had gone into his head. The monster shrieked as it realized what was happening. Jon ripped his head back hard and tore out the creature's tongue. Once we were able to register the scene properly, we gasped, in horrified ,but pleasant surprise. The beast recoiled vomiting it's acid blood on Jon, which soaked him harmlessly, allowing him to kick it off right as the other one brought it's tail down on him. Jon wasn't able to move away quickly enough and the creature drove it's spiked tail through his right shoulder. I saw Jon grit his face and bellow a muffled roar. The creature pushed it's tail deeper into him, keeping him pinned to the ground as it brought it's head down to do what the other Abomination couldn't. Jon did not dwell on his injury for long, and spat the inner jaw into his hand before plunging it into the creature's forehead. The beast wailed as Jon drove it deeply into the creature's skull. The Predalien frantically swung it's limbs about as it tried to remove the weapon. As it did so, Jon was picked up by the tail, and accidently thrown away. The other monster who's tongue was now missing took the opportunity to charge after Jon as he weakly got back up, ramming him. The Predalien then angrily gave a powerful back handed slap to Jon's face, causing him to spew out some of his florescent blood. The creature then kicked him to the ground and readied it's tail. Jon recovered fast enough to notice this and caught the beast's tail in his right hand. I could see the furious look in Jon's red eye flare with predatory intent, as he took the tail in his other hand before savagely shoving it into his mouth. The Predalien gave a short painful hiss as he bit down on it's tail. He managed to chomp down on the tail hard enough where he was able to tear the spiked end off with his hands in a spray off acid, roaring fiercely as he did so. The Abomination retreated back and fell over as it saw it's tail get removed viciously by the Yautja.
Jon was about to use the creature's tail to stab it, but it's companion came to it's rescue and kicked him away before he could do so. The Predalien didn't advance towards it's opponent, but instead held back and waited for it's ally to recover. Jon got back up and frantically looked to see if the Abominations were making a move on him. He saw that they weren't and stayed where he was. Jon starred at the spiked tail he had in his hand, before giving a dirty scowl and threw it away. I could see some of his blood and sweat fly off his body as he did so.
For a brief moment the three warriors stood there idly starring each other down. The Predaliens had a greater foe than they had anticipated. Ch'ris, Rachelle, and I looked at one another, astonished. A young, wounded, and unarmed Predator was fighting two Predalien Abominations, and managing to hold his own against them. At this point it was beginning to fell like a wrestling match. It was the Battle of the Abominations. One genetically modified Yautja, against two Predalien monstrosities, and round one had ended in a draw. Now it was time for round two to commence. Ch'ris gently released his combi-stick, seeing that he might not need it. He still kept it close just in case. I also began having second thoughts about our assertations that he couldn't win this fight.
The three Abominations continued to posture like this and give each other dirty scowls. Finally the Predaliens pounded their massive fists on the ground and flared their mandibles in outraged roars. Jon hunched his knees, flared his mandibles, and spread his arms wide as he exhaled a powerful roar of his own. It was an amazing scene as we watched them give their challenging displays. In a way it was also like watching two animals go head to head, with them giving these threatening shows of their strength.
The roaring match finally stopped when both Predaliens charged at Jon, who rushed forward after they did. We could feel their combined body weights slam down on the ground and vibrate onto the platform of the ship that we observed the fight on. Right as they were about to crash together, Jon leapt over them, and skillfully landed on his feet. He quickly turned around and bolted towards the Predaliens who'd halted their advance. Roaring as he did so, Jon barreled into the Predalien that he'd bitten the tail and inner jaw off of. He was able to exert enough force into his blow that he managed to knock it off the ground and carry it's weight impressively with both arms. He continued to bolster the beast forward until their momentum was suddenly halted by a tree. Jon fell on top of the beast, and quickly stood over it, before the combatants began to lay into each other with their claws and fists. The other Abomination snuck behind them as the two monstrous beings continued their brutal slap fight. I ran outside and called to Jon to warn him of the danger, but he continued to focus his attention on the giant he had pinned down. One of his strikes tore into the behemoth's left mandibles with devastating effect and he managed to rip them off. I was still to concerned with the danger present behind him to appreciate it, and continued calling out to him as loudly as I could.
Little did I know Jon was fully aware of the other monster's presence. The Predalien that stood behind him stealthily maneuvered it's tail and prepared to run him through with it. Right as it did though, Jon leapt to the side. The strike instead hit the other Predalien, going straight into it's throat and out through the top of it's head. The monster instantly fell limp. I was stunned by the brutality and cleverness, as were Ch'ris and Rachelle who'd followed me outside. I'm also pretty sure Zell-oah was shocked herself.
The battle didn't stop, and the two monstrous fighters continued their brawl. The Predalien tore it's tail out of the other individual and swung it at Jon. The hit connected with his face and sent him flying away. The blow had also left a visible mark on the skin flap between his right mandibles, which I saw as he recovered. The Predalien pushed itself forward on it's hind legs and tried to ram Jon. He managed to catch the creature's arms and keep his feet firmly secured to the ground so the creature couldn't overwhelm him. The Predalien hissed a roar as it starred down at Jon. The Predator returned with a exhausted, but defiant roar. The Predalien once again attempted to stab at Jon, but he let go of the creature's one arm and moved away to the side causing it to fall forward.
Suddenly, three red lasers appeared from the trees and aimed down at Jon. He saw them and reacted appropriately in time to avoid a particularly powerful plasma blast. The energy and impact of the projectile sent the area around it in a fiery explosion, which sent Jon and the Predalien flying away from each other. Apparently Zell-oah wasn't a sporting loser and was nervous that Jon would actually win. Jon quickly got back to his feet and ran from a few more shots before ducking behind a tree.
"Btch!" Jon roared angrily at Zell-oah as she shot another blast at him. "Son of a Btch!" He exclaimed as the shot landed beside him.
Ch'ris, Rachelle, and I ran to intercede ourselves and stop Zell-oah, but she saw us and fired a shot at us. She hadn't taken the time to charge or line up her shot, so the explosive projectile merely blew us backward with minor effect. The invisible bad blood returned her sights to Jon's position and continued to lay down fire for her pet, who carefully approached the tree. Jon quickly poked his head out of his hiding place, noticing the Predalien, and finding where the shots had been coming from. He pulled his head back just before Zell-oah sent another powerful blast at him. Jon picked up a rock that was as big as his fist and waited. Once the next plasma blast came, he jumped out from behind the tree and threw the stone at Zell-oah. The rock soared into the trees and hit Zell-oah's cloaked figure causing her camouflage to warp a little. She recuperated quickly from this though and readied another shot. Jon leapt in front of the approaching Predalien, causing Zell-oah to accidently target it at the last second. Before she could realize what was happening, she discharged her plasma caster and the projectile rocketed towards her pet. The shot hit it in the back and blew a small, steaming hole into the Predalien's right shoulder which sent it flying forward. The creature cried out horrifically as the shot hit it. Jon got up and ran as fast as he could towards the tree Zell-oah had perched herself on, dodging a couple more shots as he went. Once he was on the tree he used the claws on his hands and feet to ascend to Zell-oah and tackled her. They fell to the ground and before Zell-oah could recover to take another shot, Jon tore off the plasma caster along with her backpack that it was attached to, and proceeded to beat her masked face with it. One of the blows managed to crack the lower jaw attached to the bottom of the mask. The Predalien got back up and gave a angry, hurt roar alerting Jon who wisely ran, taking the plasma caster with him.
"GO VER-IA! KILL HIM! AVENGE SEA'SE-SHA!" Zell-oah ordered her pet angrily.
We gave chase as Jon lead the monster deeper into the jungle. Jon momentarily hid behind a tree, which the Predalien had seen him do. It jumped out to attack him, only to be hit in the head with the plasma caster. The weapon smashed into pieces as it hit the front of the monster's skull where he'd stabbed it. Jon continued his offensive and threw a series of punches to the creature's face. Upon his fourth strike however, the creature caught his wrist in one of it's claws, before taking hold of one of his legs, and slammed him down hard on his back The Predalien then brought both of it's hands down on his torso in a devastating blow. Jon gave a agonizing roar as it happened. The Predalien picked him up by his leg again and threw him. Jon picked up a large stick that had been lying next to him and swatted at the Abomination with it. The monster blocked the blow with it's arm, causing the weapon to splinter, before back handing him into a nearby creek.
"Bad idea." He grunted as the Predalien approached it's weakened opponent on it's hind legs.
I expected Jon to do something unexpected, but he had been so beaten up that he could make no effort to avoid or counter the Predalien's strikes. It clawed at his back several times before finally driving it's tail through him again. Jon let out a painful roar as he was stabbed and hoisted into the air by the creature's powerful appendage. Ch'ris, Rachelle, and I did not hesitate this time and we ran to help. But we didn't need to.
After a moment of hard starring between the two combatants, Jon made an unexpected move. He grabbed the spiked end of the tail that had erupted through his chest, before ripping it forward and driving it into the the creature's chin. We gasped in astonishment and horror at the cleverness of the reprisal. Jon wasn't about to let the Abomination win either, and would bring it down with him if he could. The Predalien vomited some of it's acidic blood on him, before it tried choking him ineffectively with it's huge claws. Jon gave a roar of painful rage as he tore the Predalien's tail out, before immediately driving it back into the creature's head, this time managing to penetrate it's brain. The Abomination stood there momentarily before falling dead into the creek.
Jon weakly rose from the fall with the tail still in his torso, which he smartly made no move to pull out of him. He threw his arms up in the air and gave a short, exhausted, but glorious, and triumphant roar. His victory was short lived ,however, when he weakly fell to his knees with a pained grunt. We wasted no time and ran towards him to give him immediate medical attention. He pawed at his wounds with his claws for a short moment, before passing out.
"Is he-?" I asked in a fearful stutter as Ch'ris and Rachelle turned Jon's body over to examine it.
"No. He is still alive, but he has lost much blood. We must get him to the medical pod quickly." Rachelle said as she examined his heart beat, and his pulse. She, just like Ch'ris was also a very good medic. It helped that their training came with medical practices.
Each of us carried Jon inside as fast as we could and strapped him to the medical pod. It was worrying watching Ch'ris and Rachelle work on Jon's unconscious body. I was almost afraid he wouldn't make it through the operation. I said a quick prayer, which was answered a moment later. Ch'ris and Rachelle managed to successfully stabilize his condition.
"There. He will live now. But it shall take time for him to heal from his injuries." Ch'ris told me comfortingly.
I gave a tearful sigh of relief as I heard him. I wasn't able to work up the strength to smile at Ch'ris, or Rachelle, but I still expressed my gratitude by hugging them. "Thank you both." I told them with a whimper. I tried not to tear up, but I couldn't help myself. I thought Jon was about to die, but he hadn't, and although there was no reason for me to all teary eyed, I was still under the stress of thinking that he would. At least I didn't break out into crying.
"You are welcome ,Jenny." Rachelle said. She seemed very relaxed, and even confident to a positive degree about our situation. "Listen to me. Listen to me! Do not cry. If I just saw that injured Yatja there, kill two Abominations with his bear hands, then I know that he shall live. Have faith in this god of yours ,my friend. He shall not let such an honorable warrior of his die like this." Rachelle assured me, wiping the tears from my eyes.
"She is right. Have faith." Ch'ris told me as he held his arms over me and his wife comfortingly. "Do not worry about Kjon. We know he is safe now, and he will live. I know you are worried for him, and have waited much time to see him. But you must be patient for a little while longer. Let him rest and have time to heal." Ch'ris said with a short smile. Sa-v'ar had recovered from getting her tail curb-stomped by the Predalien and gave me some uplifting affection as she rubbed her ridged head against my leg like a cat. Their encouragement helped me force back those tears, and give a shaken, but confident smile.
"There you are Pyode Kha'bj-te Tarei'hsan." Rachelle said with a smirk.
We stood like this for a moment before Ch'ris and I took the time to take one of the Abomination's corpses inside, along with Jon's weapons and armor, which included his trusty machete, pulse rifle, smart disc, and bio-mask. We weren't able to retrieve everything though, as we suddenly heard a beeping noise echo through the halls of the ship. Ch'ris and Rachelle looked at each other with their eyes and mandibles wide in fearful recognition. I had never heard the noise before myself, but I knew what it was.
"Start the ship! Now!" Ch'ris ordered Rachelle as he, Sa-v'ar, and I began searching desperately to find the wristbracer. Sa-v'ar and I managed to find it in one of the trophy rooms of the ship. I grabbed it and called it out to Ch'ris, who took it from me and ran to the door of the ship. He chucked the ticking time bomb as far as he could into the jungle before running back inside and closed the door hatch. Rachelle had obediently started the ship up as instructed and quickly brought us up into the atmosphere. I could see the wristbracer begin to form an electrical ball through one of the ship's window's before looking away and covering my eyes from the explosion. I could feel the ship rock as the shockwave carried through the air and hit us. Rachelle had brought us up quickly enough that that was the worst that happened to us.
I gave it a few seconds before I got up to take a look outside. I was still in so much of a rush that I didn't care that we were in orbit with the planet. Ch'ris joined me and looked out the window himself. We both gave a relaxed sigh as we dropped to the floor. We looked at each other with a look of anger, which wasn't directed at either of us. Ch'ris knew just as well as I did who was responsible for setting off the wristbracer, and once we found that btch, she was going to get what she had coming to her.
"Ch'ris." Rachelle called to him from the pilot's deck.
"What?!" He replied in an irate tone.
"I really really hate your sister!" She confessed with an angry tone of voice.
"She is no longer my sister!" Ch'ris told her. "When we find her, I shall tear her spine out through her stomach!"
"Join the club!" I replied in agreeance.
Phew! I don't even know what to say. I can't believe I'm finally done with this entry of the story. I'd meant to include it in the last chapter, but I had to end up putting it off. I also had to work through a bunch of distractions, since I was helping my parents with some stuff, and I kept loosing my imagination for the choreographing of the fight between Jon and the two Predaliens, and I also kept loosing my focus and motivation. Thankfully though, despite all of that, I've managed to complete it. I will try my best to come out with another entry as soon as possible. I hope you guys enjoy.
