" Oh! Hey Amy. It's been awhile since I've seen you." Vanilla the rabbit said in a motherly tone." Hey Vanilla!" Amy replied." What's the occasion?" The Rabbit asked curiously." Nothing special I just wanted to check if you guys were okay!" Amy answered.
" Well we're doing fine."
" Great to hear!"
"Want to go check on Cream and Gemerl? I'll be making food."
Amy nodded before running off to Cream's room. Entering the room she was almost immediately assaulted by the vivid and colourful bedroom.
" Hey Amy Rose!" Cream greeted happily.
" Hey Cream. What're you doing?"
" I'm playing with Gemerl!"
Amy looked over at the robot. His face was as expressive as it normally was. Which isn't a lot. Amy smiled before sitting down next to the two. With Creams two Chao, cheese and chocola circling around them.
Back with Sonic and the group they had just landed in the Chemical plant zone. An island isolated from the mainland. It was relatively unclaimed and was a perfect place for a secret base to be located. Slamming through the gates and busting through the door the group are slightly confused by the unusually simple walls. They chok it up to Eggman not having enough time to build it properly. Busting into the main room they find nothing, but a TV screen with a remote strapped to it.
" Great there's nothing in here!" Shadow exclaimed with a grunt.
" Yeah, there aren't any valuables either. Strange." Rouge added." I have a bad feeling about this." Tails said with growing worry. Sonic walked up to the TV and grabbed the remote. Turning the TV on. The group receives a terrifying message.
Hello Sonic heroes. You might be wondering why this base is so cheaply made. That's simple. This is a fake base. As you listen to this message. A massive bomber is flying over the house of that cute little rabbit friend of yours.
As the message played. Their horror grew as they quickly realised that they were so far from the house there would be no possible chance that they would get there in time. As they rushed back to Tails plane. They quickly flow back to the mainland as quickly as possible, the message still playing.
As you can guess. There is no way for you to get back in time. Genius am I right? If you were smart. You should've started making your way there by now, but how smart can you be when you even dare to oppose me-
The message continued on and on. Making crude jokes as the doctor rambled to himself.
" Wow! That's so cool!" Cream exclaimed gleefully." What do you think Gemerl?" She asked her robot friend." I think it was a mediocre fairy tale." Gemerl responded bluntly.
" Thanks. I guess." Amy responded while rolling her eyes. As Cream continued to speak with Gemerl about how much of an amazing day Tomorrow will be. Amy sat silent. Something was off. Something was happening around them that she couldn't hear, but she could feel.
Shushing Cream the room sat in silence. The sound of a faint wissle in the background, but not a wissle made by a living creature. Seconds later a bomb slams into the room and lands just to the left of them.
With seconds to react. Gemerl jumps in front of Cream and Amy. As the explosive detonates, hundreds of small pieces of shrapnel flung towards them. Most of the shrapnel crashes into the back of Gemerl's steel body with only a few small pieces gliding though and cutting into their skin. Scraping into the skin of Amy and Cream. The explosion alerted Vanilla who tried to make her way to her daughters room only to be caught off guard by a bomb landing right in front of her. Thinking fast she grabs the dining room table right beside and flings it to block the explosion.
Her plan worked. As the shrapnel slammed into the table at terminal speeds. Meanwhile Sonic and friends try their best to get to the house in time. With the group using every method they could think of to speed up Tails jet powered, but slow moving aircraft. From Shadow and Omega pushing it using their Jets to Sonic trying to fold the jets wings back to decrease the planes drag. All of their efforts will be in vain. As they reach the mainland they continue their long journey to Cream's home.
With Any, Cream, Vanilla and Gemerl united in the dining room. The bombs going off around them. With hardly any other way to go. They try to push through the front door." Amy! Get them out of here!" Vanilla yells through the carnage of sound that was the bombs detonating. Nodding her head Amy grabs Cream and runs as quickly as her body allows. Gemerl follows close behind carrying Vanilla on his back as they run out of the house. Busting through the door the group lands outside of the house just a nick of time as seconds later the house erupts with fire and flame.
The shock wave knocks them to the ground. Burnt and bruised they survived. Looking up Amy could see the faint shape of a large aircraft.
" Knew that base was too good to be true. Amy whispered to herself.
"Everyone okay?" She asked.
" My frame is filled with more holes than Swiss cheese." Gemerl joked blankly."
"Mother! Mother! Wake up!" Cream screamed. Looking at the young rabbit. Amy ran up to look at what Cream was crying about.
Lying on the ground was a barely moving Vanilla. Severe amounts of shrapnel stuck in her back. Living in the woods didn't help the situation as they were far away from any medical facilities. As Cream continued to cry for her mom Gemerl grabbed her, lightly pulling her away from Vanilla." Let me go! Let me go!" Cream screamed barely able to see where she was. Gemerl simply sat there for a few seconds. Finally letting go of Cream he turned to face as she sprinted towards the burning rubble of what was once her home." I'm sorry. I couldn't save her." Gemerl apologized in the blank tone he always speaks with.
Finally arriving Sonic and friends land near the smoke filled remains of Cream's home. The crew stood still for a moment. Mortified at why Eggman would commit such a terrible crime. Sonic wasn't sure why, but he knew one thing for sure. He would make Eggman pay for what he did.
