Jennifer's Diary

June 30, 2621

The next morning we were rudely awakened when a band of soldier Yautjas entered our room forcefully. "What the-!" Jon and I gasped after being torn from our peaceful sleep.

"Abomination, you and your Ooman are under arrest!" The general told us before we even had time to process what was even happening.

"What!?" Jon exclaimed with a confused look.

"You are suspected to have committed an offense against us. You and your Ooman are to be brought with us to the council to be questioned and judged, immediately." The Yautja told us. We couldn't believe our ears. What were they talking about? What was going on? Those two questions raced inside mine and Jon's heads as we listened to the general. We gave each other a confused and concerned look, before quickly throwing our clothes over on and willfully did as the soldier's instructed us to. We decided it was best not to ask too many questions and wait until it was the proper time and place for us to receive answers to them, both of which I correctly assumed would be happening shortly.

"What's going on ,Dad?" Jon asked his father worriedly.

"That is him, clan leader. That is the one." A Yautja said to Ph'rills pointing his finger judgingly down at Jon. We both recognized the Yautja as the drug merchant from the one shop we'd visited earlier.

"Hold on, hold on, hold on! Wait just a minute! What's going on right now?!" Jon said trying to be heard over all the audible whispering and frustrated talking going on.

"You know exactly what you did ,Abomination!" An elder hissed at him.

"Seriously what is even going on right now?! Why are we being treated like this Ph'rills?!" I asked him with the same confusion and worry Jon was having right now.

"You'll have us believe you've forgotten so quickly about the transgression you preformed ,Bad Blood Abomination!" That same elder shrieked.

"Silence. It is not proven that my son has committed the trespasses brought against him." Ph'rills said calming the elder along with the rest of the clan down.

"What's going on right now ,Dad?! I seriously have no idea what is happening right now?!" Jon asked his father in a soft worried tone.

"Another trespass has been brought against you my son. A Yautja claims that you are responsible for having stolen the Rage shards that should have all been destroyed." Ph'rills replied. Again, Jon and I couldn't believe what we were hearing. "What was Ph'rills even talking about? When did any of this all happen? How did any of this happen? Why was it happening? How and why would we even have anything to do with this?" I asked myself mentally, which I'm sure Jon was also asking too.

"What do you mean?! I haven't stolen anything?! W-w-wh-why would I even steal from my clan?!" Jon asked.

"That is exactly what you would do! Deny it in front of us all when we know it was you who did it!" The elder continued.

"Enough! I shall not hear another word out of any of you until I see the Yautja that has made this claim bring forth his evidence." Ph'rills spoke. Soon afterward a Yautja came up to bowed to the clan leader. The individual looked like one of the newly blooded hunter who was at the party last night. "Are you the Yautja who has made this claim, and have you brought forth proof of my sons misdeeds?" Ph'rills asked the Yautja.

"Yes." The unnamed individual replied.

"Very well. We may begin the session." Ph'rills spoke. He and Jon gave each other unsure looks. Jon was terrified and confused, as was Ph'rills himself, only to a more controlled extent.

"Kjon of the Schaefer Oomans and our honorable clan leader Ph'rills. You have been charged with the thievery of the dangerous Rage shards. Do you confess to these accusations as being true or do you deny them as false?" The general Yautja who'd stormed into our room with all of the other soldier Yautja asked.

"No, none of it's true! None of it!" Jon stuttered obviously very shaken by this sudden and most unexpected turn of events.

"Very well. He denies it. Carry forward." The general said turning the time over to the mysterious Yautja.

"As I was returning home from celebration that me and my fellow newly blooded hunter friends were having the night before, I saw the Abomination sneaking into the shop that night, just as he was also returning to his place of rest." The Yautja said.

"What was this celebration you and your friends were having then?" The general asked.

"The celebration was a party for me and my friends, along with many other newly blooded hunters such as us. We were there to celebrate the accomplishing of our rite of passage. Many others were with us that night, especially the Abomination and his Ooman." The Yautja continued in something of an apologetic voice.

"I was well aware of the harmonious actions that were taking place last night, and I do not hold any such disappointment or anger to you or those who were with you last night." Ph'rills said excusing him. "But as for the misdeeds you've accused my son of doing. You say he had his Ooman with him, which I about as well; tell me was she or anyone else with him when you saw him committing the atrocity?" Ph'rills asked. The tone in how he asked Jon's accuser suggested he didn't believe him, not yet anyway.

"No I did not ,clan leader." The Yautja replied.

"How could you be so sure that it was he who committed these acts?" Ph'rills continued.

"I am sure that it was him." The Yautja persisted.

"If so then display your proof in front of us all now." Ph'rills ordered the Yautja in a threatening voice. He'd heard enough of his clan mistreating Jon after everything he'd done for them. Ph'rills had made it abundantly clear that if anyone else made another claim against him again, they would be punished swiftly and severely. Jon's accuser did as he was told, and brought out his bio-mask. Needless to say, I began having suspicions about the individual the second I saw him step forward to bare his testimony. Everything about his story was off, like my exclusion, and the mere fact that he had his bio-mask with him when I knew that none of the other partygoers last night had a bio-mask with them. He quickly turned to the segment of the footage that he'd been referring to. Each of us watched with nervousness as the footage played. Everyone gasped when they saw the caped figure with a bag rush quietly up to the shop, before sneaking inside and exiting shortly afterward. The footage wasn't very clear to go off of, but you could see it clearly enough. The proof wasn't entirely dissuasive, but it did have the audience ,including myself, questioning, only I knew it wasn't true. Jon was with me the entire time.

Some of the Predator's watching turned and began to sneer at Jon. Ph'rills still had his doubts that it was Jon though, "I still do not believe that it was my son who committed the acts you've spoken of, but I cannot turn away what you have shown us."

"I am sure that it was him ,clan leader." The young Yautja continued.

"What else do you have to prove that it was really ,Kjon?" Ph'rills asked the Yautja.

"I have little else beyond this to prove, but the shards should be within his satchel." The Yautja said.

Ph'rills had Jon's backpack brought out for an inspection. Lo and behold they were right where the Yautja had said they were. You cannot believe the shock we felt when we saw those shards being pulled from the bag. Once everyone saw it their attention turned back down to Jon who was in complete disbelief.

Ph'rills looked down at his son with an unbelievable look on his face after he saw them. Trish, Beo'n, and most of Jon's other siblings who were also there had the same looks on their faces. "Why?" Ph'rills asked Jon in complete shock.

"I-I-I-I don't understand. Th- How did-?" Jon stuttered.

"Why did you do this?" Ph'rills asked again still in disbelief over what he'd just seen.

"Dad, Father, I swear I did not steal those shards!" Jon replied.

"If so then why were they in your satchel?!" another elder asked with an angry growl.

"I don't know!" Jon replied defensively. Things quickly began to heat up, but before they could boil over completely I stepped in.

"Wait! I was with Jon the entire time last night. I know he didn't do it." I said in his defense.

"Perhaps, but given your relationship with the Abomination it cannot be hard to assume you are merely aiding him!" The Yautja who accused Jon retorted against me.

"You may be right there, but also how did you know they were there in the first place? Besides even if Jon stole them he would've brought his bag with him to the party, which I know he didn't? And if that isn't enough why didn't you bother notifying anyone while this was going on?" I questioned him with a frown on my face.

"I was afraid the Abomination would escape." He replied.

"Yet you knew it was Jon who stole them ,or at least that's what you say, but you still did nothing, and it's only now that you've decided to bring this to everyone's attention?!" I retaliated. The trial was at a stalemate at that point. Although his accusations had some proof to back them up, mine did raise a few questions that definitely couldn't be overlooked. "I think Jon is being set up. For what reason I don't know, but if I had to guess he may have something to do with it." I told Ph'rills pointing back at the Yautja who'd accused Jon.

"Your questions may have truth to them Ooman." Ph'rills replied. "Very well." Ph'rills said.

The Yautja who'd accused Jon did not react with concern, or break even so much as a single drop of sweat as the Yautja conducted the investigation. After spending several hours of looking though, there search came up empty. There was nothing on him that tied him to any suspicious activity. As such, there was no one else to blame but us.

"How could you do this ,Kjon?! How?! Why?!" Ph'rills roared at Jon, who progressively began to look smaller and smaller the more enraged his father grew.

"Dad, I promise you it wasn't me!" Jon replied. This was unbelievable for me to see. I knew Jon he would never have done something like this ever. I knew it wasn't him. Not just that but now he was completely defenseless. He wasn't fighting back at all, not that he even could, since everyone believed he'd stolen the Rage shards.

"Do not address me so disrespectfully!" Ph'rills roared back. The clan leader took a few calming breaths to relax himself, before looking back down at his son. Even from a logical stand point you could see he was having difficulty with this. After everything Jon had done, returning the stolen technology and weapons, willfully proving his honor and devotion to the clan despite the risk of death involved, and even facing off against their ancient enemies for his clans own defense, why would he do this. He'd worked so hard, not just to restore his honor which was stained just by him existing, but his mother's who he cared more deeply for than life itself. Why after all of this would he do something to deliberately dishonor himself. Ph'rills face softened a little with grief. You could see it in the way he looked down at his son. His gaze was a mixture of disappointment, grief, anger, and confusion. "Why my son? After all you've done for us? After what we have done for you? Why do you dishonor us like this?" Ph'rills asked again.

"Ph'rills, Father. I've told you, I did not do it. I promise you and my God I did not take them." Jon responded with a desperate look on his face.

"Very well than. You still refuse to answer us this. As such you must be punished by our law." Ph'rills said closing his eyes before opening them back up again in a foreboding look. "Take his Ooman." Ph'rills ordered before walking off. Before we could even process the shock of what we'd heard, I was taken by the arms by two soldiers. Jon gave a horrified look as he saw me being taken away.

"NO!" Jon said as he ran to save me only to be stopped in his place by four other guards. "Why are you doing this?! Why is she paying for what I supposedly did?!" Jon asked his father.

"To preserve what honor you have. If what you say is true you may prove yourself once more, but until than justice must be served. Her life will be taken so that your honor may be preserved. Take him to the prison hold." Ph'rills answered back heartlessly.

"No! She doesn't deserve this! Let her go! Punish me instead!" Jon cried beggingly. Jon's begging went unanswered by his father who continued to walk awa None of us Jon, Trish, Beo'n, and I could believe what was happening. I was going to be punished by execution for a crime that my boyfriend hadn't even committed?! What was going on?! Why was this happening to him, to me, to the both of us?! These questions raced inside my head as Jon and I struggled with our captors. Time began to slow down as Jon turned and gave me a tearful horrified look. Very rarely had I seen Jon more afraid then he was at that moment as I was being taken away.

"Fine! I admit it I took them!" Jon exploded into tears. Everyone stopped and turned their attention back to Jon after he exhaled his response. "I didn't know what was so wrong with them! I didn't know, I was just curious so I took them! I didn't think it would come to this!" Jon replied. I knew he was lying, so did Trish and Beo'n, and we knew why he was lying. "Please ,Father, please! I'm begging you don't hurt Jenny! I'm the one that made this mistake not Jenny. She knew nothing about this I swear, no one did! It was all me! It was my mistake, I'm the one that deserves to be punished not her! Please!" Jon cried as he laid down on his hands an knees in a mortifying display.

Ph'rills turned around and faced his son with an unhappy look. The clan leader stood there thinking over what he'd just heard before giving an unhappy growl before approaching Jon again. "Very well! If that is what your desire is then so be it! You have broken our law after it was clearly stated to you yet you still disobeyed it! But for the honorable actions you have demonstrated in saving our lives, I grant you the request of your Ooman's life! We shall also spare you, but not for previous reasons! It would be more beneficial for us to make an example of you! As such you are stripped of your honor and your legitimacy to this clan, and you shall be forever banished from our home world! The Rage shards you shall keep! They shall serve as a testimony of the disgrace you've shown this day!" Ph'rills said before waving at his guards to let me go. That wasn't the end of Jon's punishment however. "In dishonoring us like this ,Abomination, so shall Ma-el'laa's honor be forever stripped of her name as well. Punishing you would not be enough, we must leave a mark on you that you must never forget. I never knew of her, and she shall be forgotten just the same as you will to erase any memory of your existence from our knowledge." That was the crushing blow. That remark not only crushed Jon's heart but also his spirit. Jon had done everything he could for his mother, everything. He'd just restored her honor and it had made him the happiest he'd ever been. Now it was all over, she'd never be restored. All the work he'd done for her, all the honor he tried to show, everything he'd done for her had all been in vain. Not only that but even if Jon tried again it wouldn't matter. He and his mother were officially finished.

I saw Jon give his father who began to walk away again a horrified look before getting up from his hands and knees to chase after him. "Dad!" Jon cried to his father. His father turned around sharply and smacked him away with his fist, roaring angrily as he did so.

"YOU ARE NOT MY SON! NOW LEAVE!" Ph'rills told him in a deep angry voice before turning back around sharply.

As Jon and I left the temple we could see Trish and Beo'n glancing back at us. I could tell by the looks they gave us that they knew we were innocent, but there was nothing they could do for us. The clan all gave their resentment to us as we left making our departure all that more painful. It was nothing like the way it was when we arrived, almost nothing like it we should say. Before we'd entered peacefully and determined, but were met with hostility. Now we, or I should say Jon was leaving broken and discarded crying all the while he did so taking away what little dignity he had left, the only ones to acknowledge his pain aside from myself looked down upon his with resentment, before quickly turning there faces away and forgetting him.

We waited outside the oasis that night for Ch'ris and Rachelle to arrive. We or at least I was very sure Ph'rills had contacted them since he knew of the relationship we had with them. Jon said nothing the whole time we waited.

When they did arrive they could do nothing to hide their sorrow for their friend as they rushed out to met us. "Hunter Brother, we heard what has ha-!" Ch'ris said as he went to comfort his friend only for him to rudely walk right past him. "Kjon, I'm so-!" Rachelle tried to apologize to him, only for her to be moved ignored just the same.

"Leave me alone." Jon told them both. Jon wasn't crying when he spoke, but you could tell by the way he held his head down and by the forlorn gaze he held in his eyes he was still sad. I couldn't blame him for being so rude as he was.

"Kjon we-." Rachelle began as she and Ch'ris tried once again to comfort him.

"I SAID LEAVE ME ALONE!" He roared back at them angrily as tears began to form in his eyes again, before turning back around and entered the ship.

"I'm sorry guys. He's... He needs some time." I said with a soft voice.

We left Yautja Prime immediately afterward. I watched behind the window of Jon's room door as he tearfully saw his world grow smaller and smaller until it was out of reach for him, and with it the hope and closure that he'd worked so long and hard to receive. I couldn't help but shed a few tears of my own knowing the pain he was in at that moment knowing he'd never be able to fix the dishonor that had been caused. Not just to himself but to his mother. He'd made it abundantly clear he cared nothing about himself, but for the ones he loved... I couldn't understand his grief, but just because that was the case didn't mean I didn't completely understand.
