" And there we go!" Tails said as he put the last piece of a robotic spin in place. Tangle was luckily still alive, but her spin was completely shattered. Because of this It needed to be replaced. Luckily for her Tails was a robotics genius and quickly whipped up a robotic spin for the lemur. Walking towards a Computer he proceeds to type on some keys. After a few clicks Tangle's new robotic bone was complete.
A few seconds later Tangle awoke.
"Did- did it work?" She asked tired.
" Seems so!" Tails said happily." But you might want to get some rest. Your body still needs some time to fully accept the augmentation." Tails said continuing to type on the computer.
" A day or so should be enough!" He said hopefully. It had been a few days since the battle on the Emerald Skyway and since then Sonic and friends have been planning their next move. The attacks have calmed down in intensity. They still seem to be targeting specific people, but they are more prepared than they were during the first few strikes of the insertion.
Dazzie was still an issue and Metal is still as dangerous as he's always been, but for the most part they've been able to keep the attacked alive. Minas Vanilla of course. Despite the crew's efforts, Cream still seems to be emotionally crushed about the situation and hasn't talked to anyone ever since her mom's death. Amy and Gemerl seem to be the only ones able to comfort her about it and ever since the destruction of her home her, Gemerl and her Chao have been living with Amy in her apartment.
Shadow, Omega and Rouge have been on their own mission, searching for the Chaos Emeralds. So far they've found 3 of them, but have had no luck with the others even with Rouge's Emerald detecting abilities. For the most part things have calmed down, they're still on alert in case Eggman tries to pull any more tricks. Other than that they've chilled.
However, the bad guys have a lot of plans Brewing. Ever since he was fired by Eggman Starline has been taking full advantage of every opportunity he gains. After teaming up with Mimic, Rough, Tumble and Zavok he was able to get himself an Eggman Base. While it was rather damaged during one of the Restoration raids he was quickly able to rebuild and has started designing his own empire.
" Yes! Perfect!" He said to himself putting the finishing touches on the digital design. Rolling his chair to another monitor he activates his new machines. Behind his office was a massive factory ready to build his army of androids. With three designs of varying sizes, shape and ability. He was sure that this would be his key to gaining power. With the Eggman Empire in shambles there was no better time to make decisive strikes.
As the first few androids left the production line, Starline couldn't help but grin at his genius.
The deadly six had been reunited. With Zavok's return he too decided to take advantage. Searching through the rubble of many bases on the edge of the empire him and the rest of the Zeti were able to find 2 Chaos Emeralds. They decided to keep them safe for now. He can't do much without the rest, but having them is certainly useful.
Back at Tangles house Whisper and Tangle were chatting about everything that's happened so far.
"- Well! At least we're safe for now!" Tangle said reassuringly. Just then Tails walked into the room." Hey Tails! Thanks by the way." The lemur said. Tails stood silent for a little while." Yeah uh, you're welcome." He said suspiciously before walking towards the computer. Grabbing a hard drive he plugs it into the computer and starts transferring data.
" Tails?" Tangle asked getting more and more confused about what the fox was attempting to do." Yeah?" Tails said, sweat slowly dripping down his face. Whisper grow increasingly suspicious of Tails. Reaching for a phone lying on the bed. Typing Tails number the phone is quickly answered." Hey Whisper! Anything wrong with Tangle?" Tails asked. Looking up at the now frozen still Tails sitting at the desk in front of them, it was clear who it was." Tangle." Whisper said to her friend while moving her mask down to cover her face."Run."
" I just don't understand why Eggman would do something like that." Sonic said in the comfort of Restoration HQ.
"Maybe he ran out of ideas?" Rouge proposed." Maybe." Sonic stated not a hundred percent agreeing with Rouge's guess."Well, so far this has been the longest period of time without a Eggman attack!" Sonic said with a confident smile." Maybe he's given up!" The blue hedgehog continued.
" Maybe everyone will be alright-" Sonic said before being interrupted by an incoming signal." Spoke too soon." The hedgehog said annoyed.
" Sonic! Sonic! Come quickly!" Tails said over the message. The sound of wisp rifles firing and explosions ringing out in the background." We're on our way!" Sonic said quickly Before running out of the room with Shadow, Rouge and Omega following up behind. As the group made their way to Tangles home town. They had no clue about the battle that would be waiting for them.
