Moving back in time a bit, Whisper had just told Tangle to run out of the room after realizing Mimic was in the room attempting to steal some of Tails data. As the Tangle exited the room a hail of gun fire rang out behind her. Whisper had started firing on Mimic.
Pulling out a gun of his own he started firing, using his desk as cover. Whisper quickly realized she had no cover at all, thinking fast she dives out of the room and hides behind the wall while actual bullets wiz past." What do you want Mimic?" Whisper asked in a louder tone than usual.
" What do I want? For you to die for one." He responded spitefully." Funny." The wolf answered back.
" I want nothing. Just doing a job."
" For who?"
" Sorry, can't tell you that even if I wanted to, which I didn't."
"Who would want such data?"
" Augmentations? Anyone! Who wouldn't want the power to enhance themselves using the power of robotics!"
"I wouldn't."
" Well you're not the Sharpest tool in the shed."
Whisper peaked around the corner and fired a shot at Mimic. The wisp bounced off the desk, scaring Mimic back into hiding." Petty." He mumbled to himself." Well if that data is so important then I can't let you get out of here with it." Whisper started firing another shot. Peaking over the desk he spotted an opportunity to sneak up on the silent wolf. Taking it he runs up to the door and takes cover.
Whisper peaks over the edge once again and is about to fire another shot,but gets smacked in the face by Mimic. Falling back she barely has time to dodge the bullet coming straight to her skull. Luckily she does and proceeds to kick Mimic in the shins. Groaning the squid falls back into the room giving Whisper time to stand back up and fire another shot at Mimic, but just as she's about to pull the launch button she gets distracted by an explosion ringing out from the front door.
As the rubble and debris fly past the shape of a robotic entity it flies towards her with the rubble. Landing behind her. With no time to react she's kicked in the back. Sent flying towards Mimic, landing back in Tangles room.
Turning to face the machine that kicked her she sees what looks like a Badnik, but something is very wrong about it. Its eyes were silver voids with no pupil in sight, it's body a series of neatly layered armoured plating. It's head full of spikes of varying lengths. Some only a few light outwards bumps and the last two giant horns that seem to be as long as it's body.
One of the armoured plates read the name of its creator, Starline's ana-warrior, Whisper had only heard of Starline and had only got a glimpse of him once,but she'd never heard anything of him creating Eggman style machines. Rather suddenly, it began to speak." Target identified: Mimic." The android said aloud."What? No! This has to be a mistake! I was hired by Starline to get the augmentation data!" Mimic blurted out, completely forgetting that Whisper was next to him." Words analysed. Response generated: He already had the data. Eggman had information about how to do so and had left it behind. Starline's plan was to lure you away so I could kill you." The android explained
Mimic lay there in silence. Thinking over all of his experiences, all of his troubles. Sighing softly he lifts his gun and fires it at the android. It quickly dodges." If you think your bullets are fast enough to catch me. You are sorely misinformed." The robot responded." Mimic looks towards Whisper." Get out of here!" Mimic said to the surprise of Whisper.
" What?"
" You heard me! I'm not letting this bucket of bolts steal my kill!"
Whisper sighed. Of course Mimic would only care about that. Getting up she grabs her rifle and runs out of the room. The sound of Mimic fighting the android echoing through the hallway.
" Take that! What? No! Get away! You won't defeat me! You won't-" is all she could make out before the sound of his scream over took the hallway. Jumping out the destroyed front exit of Tangle's home. She leaves the frying pan combat of the house and enters the fire that was the battle outside.
Hundreds of Starline's androids fighting against Eggman's Egg-pawns who fought tons of Zeti controlled robots who were in combat with Restoration forces. What was once her half home was now a war zone of fire, gun shots and explosions.
Looking around she sees Tangle taking cover under one of the few standing walls of what was once her green and flower filled yard. Running up to Tangle, Whisper takes cover with her." Whisper! Thank Mobius you're alive!" Tangle said whipping the sweat that had been bundling on her forehead." Had any doubts?" Whisper asked in her usual calm tone.
She was sure how or why this battle had ensued, but that didn't matter. She had to get Tangle out of there and she had to aid the Restoration forces. This was now a war and she intended to help Sonic and friends win it.
