While the ground below was being destroyed by the storms, Eggman was safe and comfortable in his recently rebuilt Eggman Carrier. Sitting in the control in an oddly customized chair. Standing next to him was Metal Sonic, staring off into the cloudy sunset. While below the clouds the sky is dull and grey, at a high enough altitude, the blue sky can be seen. Eggman Began to monologue, everything he had ever wanted was at his finger and all he needed to do was to tell his mercenaries to advance across the world, Eggman didn't quite notice it yet, but the victory was getting to his head.
" You see this Metal? The sky. This planet. It's ours and we can take full advantage of this role." Eggman said in an almost ascended tone. He rambled on and on about the power on their finger tips, but Metal Sonic couldn't careless. All he cared about was beating Sonic, it's all he ever wanted. It's all he was programmed to do. The longer he was forced to stray away from his mission the more he released how pointless it was. Sonic would lose some day, eventually. It was only a matter of time and even if he doesn't, age will catch up with him eventually.
As much as Eggman thought that he'd finally destroyed Sonic, Metal knew better than that. Continuing to stare at the faded scarlet of the cloud covered, but still clearly setting sun. Sonic wouldn't fall to the weather, he obviously escaped the ship. Its design was too simple to keep the hedgehog in and while there was almost no chance of Sonic surviving, almost all the hedgehog was needed. Metal was designed off of his data, he had researched everything there was to know about him. Despite not being around to fight the blue blur as much as Eggman he knew far about him then the doctor.
To beat Sonic he would have to be better than him, but as a Robot that's impossible. He can't be perfect because nothing is perfect. Whether or not he's a machine or a living being. Sonic is far from perfect, but if there's one thing that he's very skilled at it was exploiting the every opportunity given to him and with smug grin always present after. Eggman left too many openings, too many opportunities to be exploited. Sonic was alive and he knew it.
His thought process was silenced by a few words Eggman said that had captured his attention."- and thanks to all of this I can finally, refine my Mecha series of robots." Eggman said before standing up and leaning on the control table in front of him." Don't worry, I'll never replace you. These new Mechas are made to deal with other problems like bands of resistance and such. You can finally fulfill your purpose!" Eggman said reassuringly.
" With Sonic dead, you are effectively the leader of all the heavy duty Badniks!" Eggman said putting his hand in Metal's shoulder.
" And your first mission is to get Daisy, alive or dead, she can still be salvaged!" Eggman said before walking out towards the door behind them." I know you'll not disappoint." He said finally reaching the door." Oh and if that hedgehog is alive. You know what to do." Eggman said before opening the door and walked out of the room.
Metal's mind ran wild. He could not only confirm his suspicions of Sonic's condition he could also have some time to think, something few robots get to enjoy. Now on the bottom floor he watched as the drop bay opened in front of him. Getting ready to drop on the upcoming village of Spiral Hill. The last known location of Daisy. As much as he hated her, he didn't have much of a choice. Walking towards the edge he's stopped by a new voice that he hasn't heard before." How's it going!" The voice said it was coming from a screen near the bay.
Looking towards the screen he saw what looked like a chipmunk with blue eyes. Metal simply stared at her. He eventually responded to the AI in a series of beeps and alarms.
" Name?"
" I- don't remember."
" How?"
" I've been locked in the data files for a few years. The only name I remember of Mother-Weather."
Metal was intrigued by the AI. He'd known that Eggman had downloaded an AI from some old G.U.N files, but he never really learned anything about it until now.
Their short conversation was interrupted by Eggman's voice coming from a loud speaker above them.
" Game time Metal!" Eggman said, the speaker quickly turned off after words. Metal Sonic was about to jump off into the village before pausing. Walking up to the computer he grabbed a usb that was lying on the control panel. Downloading the AI's files onto it, after waiting a few seconds for the download to complete he pulls the usb out of the computer. Putting it in his head he uploaded it into his head, he needed someone to counter Dazzie's chaotic evil insanity.
When the upload completed he ran towards the drop bay and leaped out of the ship, diving into the storm below.
Going from the harsh clouds to the hellish storm, Metal could hear Mother-Weather mumbling words to herself. For the most part he could ignore it, but her mindless rambling did interest him.
" Home, what was anything, all I remember is husk, all I am is a husk-" she rambled, her words didn't mean much to him. All they did was make him more and more intrigued about her origin. She spoke on and on as he decided to the earth below. Finally landing, his impact sending shock waves across the ground. Looking ahead he could see Spiral Hill ahead of him.
Slowly walking forward he could hear Mother-Weather ask him a question.
" What do you plan on doing after this? After all of this?" She asked.
Metal didn't reply, he didn't quite want to think about that, not now, possibly not ever. Continuing his stride towards the village.
