Belle trout around the Tails workshop, her mind racing about what she could possibly do in the predicament she was in. It had been a day or so since the storm started and Tails had been too busy fighting Eggman to visit his workshop. At this point belle was sure that they were in trouble, but how would she help them? She didn't even know where they were. Thinking hard she could hear the sound of her brain processing a game plan. However she soon realised that the sound she was hearing wasn't her brain, it was coming from outside. The sound of a large object pushing through the wind was easily recognisable.
Walking up to the front of the house and up to one of the windows she couldn't make anything out, but the sound was still clear as day. Suddenly the sky lit up with vigour as lightning cascaded through the sky. The light was bright enough to light the ground below it. For a few seconds she could see the silhouette of a plane flying towards the workshop. Her face lit up with joy as the plane flowed closer to the shop. Soon the craft made a harsh, but successful landing and slowly rolled to a stop. The storm was starting to pick up, its harsh winds and rough rain turned to cyclone gusts and bullet rain.
Belle could barely make Sonic and Tails climbing out of the Tornado. There were a few others, but she couldn't make them out. That didn't matter though, they were with Sonic and friends so they had to be friendly.
Opening the door for the heroes she is immediately met with the freezing cold wind mixed in with the clouds enraged tears. As Sonic, Tails, Shadow, Rouge, Omega, Espio and Vector ran into the building, lightly trampling belle in the process, they took a second to breathe." My word! How did you survive that for more than five minutes?" The crocodile asked before taking another long, deep breath.
" Honestly I have no clue!" Sonic said shivering violently." Let's just get what we're here to leave." Shadow crossed his arms, seemingly unfazed by the thermoshocking weather.
" Uh-" was all Belle could muster in response as she continued to lie on the floor. Shadow looked down below him and stared the robot in the eye.
"Observation: Is this an Eggman robot?" Omega asked behind arming his mini gun.
"Well-" Sonic started before being interrupted by his fox friend." No." Tails answered simply.
" Verdict: false, she is. I know that design anywhere." The Obtuse Badnik said before raising his arms towards the Badnik. Sonic quickly ran in front of the robot, lightly shoving Shadow out the way." Yes and no, but mostly no. Plus you're an Eggman robot, yet you don't destroy yourself!" Sonic rebuttaled.
Omega wasn't fazed by the hedgehog's witty comeback, his guns now aimed directly at his head. Sonic looked over to the shadows." Shad, tell Omega to stand down." Sonic said in a slightly more serious tone." I can't control him. Give him a reason to stand down." The black hedgehog said his arms still crossed. Belle layed silent, she was in a life or death situation right now and she wasn't sure what to do. Sonic looked back at her." Is it okay if I tell 'em?" The hedgehog asked. Belle nodded, she had long accepted that Eggman was technically her creator, but at the same he wasn't. She just hoped Omega would accept the explanation.
" Belle was technically created by Eggman, but not the Eggman we know. Remember when he turned into a toy maker for a little while there? You know before he became evil again and created the Metal virus and all that?" Sonic explained rather casually. Shadow nodded his head.
" Well she was made by that version of him, but said version is long gone by now."
Omega stood silent for a moment, looking towards Shadow he looked the hedgehog in the eyes. Nodding his head Omega began to spoil up his mini gun.
" No, I didn't mean shoot them I meant yes you can stop!" The hedgehog clarified. The mini gun soon stopped spoiling." Statement: I know, I just wondered if you would stop me." The robot said almost jokingly. Sonic let out a sigh of relief, turning around and helping Belle up he turned to the rest of the heroes." Okay- with all that dealt with I think it's time we get ready for the task ahead." Sonic said walking up to Tails who was looking through his tools and creations.
"Tails." Sonic said excepting the fox to have already thought of something, which he had. Pulling out a map he laid it on the table.
"Okay, we don't know much of- well anything at the moment. The Storm knocked out most communication systems and the ones that it didn't are responding to." Tails said drawing circles on the map. The first one was right around the workshop." We're here and. Considering that the storm is probably going on around the world and also considering Eggman can redirect the horizontal direction of the wind patterns-" the fox said before looking back at the very confused group." Considering that he can change the direction of the natural disasters-" he simplified.
"He has most likely targeted major infrastructure." The fox explained as he circled cities, restoration outposts and several other important structures.
" So those are off the table." Espio said leaning on a wall near the map.
"Pretty much, but there is one place that he has no idea about." The fox said circling a seemingly normal village. Sonic immediately knew what his friend was leading on to." Of course! The new Restoration HQ!"
The group collectively "oh"ed in agreement. Some knew about while others like Shadow were in the dark.
Whether he knew about it wasn't important however, what was at the moment was getting there. And finding a way to get the rest of the refugees there too. Tails rolled up the map and stood up." I have an idea, it might take awhile, but I've already got the perfect thing for it!" The fox said with pride before running to the back of his workshop. As the rest of the heroes followed behind they quickly saw what Tails was talking about. Sitting there was a precariously parked vehicle, one that seemingly towered over them." This is the Earthquake." Tails said."The quad-tracked, lifted monster of a vehicle that I built while I was bored." The fox described and he was indeed correct. The body of the vehicle constructed out of the few remaining pieces of his old mecha. The one he used to use back when Shadow had first appeared.
Below the nostalgic hull was a set of 4 tracks all fit snuggly inside the body of the vehicle, with only a little bit of the tracks poking out the side. The Heroes stood in awe. The large vehicle, while not large enough to carry everyone at once looked more than hardy enough to make a few hundred trips." This is- perfect!" Sonic stated. The fox hopped inside his driver seat as the rest of the group hopped into the seats in the back and grabbed onto the hull. As the Earthquake came to life it raced forward before turning towards the direction of Restoration HQ. The effects of the weather become more and more apparent to the group as they drive through and around the broken landscape.
