Chapter III - Repentance
With Ruby
Ruby opened her eyes and found herself struggling to breath. Every second she that had passed. She felt as if the air in her lungs was being ripped away from her. The young girl was not only incapable of breathing but unable to see the world around her as if it were a pitch black void. At the same time, Ruby couldn't help but feel as if she was sinking deeper into the void with every passing moment.
Alone, afraid and feeling strangled. Ruby didn't want to accept this fate and kicked and thrusted herself. As if she believed there was a way to escape this endless darkness.
Ruby was forced to give up as she ran out of energy and oxygen. Leaving her with nothing left in the world that did not exist. That is until her silver eyes had caught one last thing. It wasn't easy to describe and as a child, Ruby couldn't describe it as anything more than a monster. With it's prescence and shape being foreign to her, she was immediately terrified but had no way to react to it.
No energy to run. No voice to scream with. No emotion to express her fears with.
Ruby was forced to accept the cruel world for what it is as the creature devoured her.
Moments later
Ruby raised her head up as she gasped for air, "What was that?" she whispered to herself.
Ruby tried to stand before realizing she her hands and feet were tied together by a strong rope. Ruby groaned loudly as se tried to break free before realizing she was also strapped down to the bed by more rope. Ruby continued to whine as she tried to wiggle out of her bondage and free herself.
"Ruby knock it and go to sleep!" Weiss whispered, very angrily.
"Sorry Weiss, I had a bad dream and my dumb brother tied me up for no reason." Ruby replied.
Weiss sighed, "He tied you up because you would sleep in that tree all the time. Only if you didn't sneak into his bed with him that is." she said knowing Ruby was avoiding sleeping in the dorm room.
"I have my reasons Weiss. Also, could you do be a pal and cut me loose?" Ruby asked.
"No, now go to sleep!" Weiss commanded.
Ruby pouted, "Weiss, if you were tied up by your brother. I would help you out." she said.
Weiss' eye twitched, "Ruby, if my brother tied me up. I would want you to call the police." she replied.
Ruby chose to ignore that strange response, "Please Weiss, I'll do you one favor just name it! I'll even share my cookies!" she pleaded.
"I don't want your cookies! Also you can do me a favor and go to sleep you dolt!" Weiss said silently screaming by this point.
"Could I at least use the bathroom?" Ruby asked.
Now a tick mark appeared on the Schnee's head, "You know where you can go Ruby? To sleep!" she said wanting to scream.
"But I'm not tired yet." Ruby whined.
"Close your eyes, stop being a dolt and go to sleep!" Weiss said gritting her teeth.
Ruby turned her head to look at Blake, "Hey Blake, are you awake? If you are, care to help your team leader out?" she asked.
Blake's eyes opened wide and revealed to be bloodshot, "Not since you've started annoying Weiss. Please go the F*** to sleep." she said.
Ruby pouted again, "Could I at least have some milk?" she asked.
Suddenly Yang fell out from bed and stood up with a smile on her face, "I can get you some milk!" She exclaimed.
Ruby lied her head back down, "Actually I think I should go to sleep." she said making Yang feel dejected.
Yang looked depressed and climbed back to her bed. As Ruby may or may not have started to sleep. When suddenly everyone was woken up by someone's scroll going off. Even worse, it was 3 AM! Who wakes up at 3 AM to dial someone's scroll?
"My life is a failure. I'm a shitty ass teammate. Please stop messing with me and sleep!" Weiss yelled.
Ruby clammed up and went to sleep despite the ropes being too tight.
Next morning
Naruto quickly woke up and double checked to see that Ruby didn't sneak into bed with him. The girl was crafty and strong, so there was no telling if she would find a way to free herself. So after getting ready for the day and seeing the boys ready in their uniforms. Naruto made a quick stop by Team RWBY's dorm room to find them trying to untie Ruby.
"What are these ropes made of!?" Weiss said as she started using Myrtenaster to cut the ropes.
Suddenly Naruto knocked on the door, "Having trouble?" he asked.
"Yeah I'm in trouble and Weiss is getting mad again!" Ruby whined.
"Because these ropes are made from the hardest material before diamonds, crystals, and titanium!" Weiss yelled.
Naruto gently moved Weiss aside, "Not like that." he said before the knots practically came apart on their own.
Weiss' jaw dropped, "How did…"
Naruto grinned, "Magic!" he said.
With Ozpin
Ozpin was about to spit out his coffee when held back the sheer moment of shock. He swallowed his life giving nectar before taking a drink of bottled water. Then he did a spit take.
"I feel like someone is on to me." Ozpin said. Then he realized something, "I still need to aquire that photo from Ms. Rose and Mr. Belmont." he said remembering that those two found him drinking straight from the coffee machine's glass pot.
Back with the students
Ruby eagerly jumped off of bed, "Freedom!" she yelled before running outside.
"Ruby change out of your pajamas!" Naruto yelled as Ruby came back with a blush on her face.
Ruby slowly picked up her clothes and went into the bathroom to change. The whole time she was silent as she came back out and put on her hood and mask. Leaving Team RWBY's dorm room while still feeling embarrassed. Naruto shook his head at how absent minded that girl can sometimes be.
"So what are those ropes made of?" Weiss asked.
"The one thing that keeps people strong, milk." Naruto answered. Weiss just gave him a blank stare, "Okay fine, just some random rope I found. Sometimes it's hard keep Ruby in one place and not a lot of things can restrain her." he explained.
"Why would you need to restrain Ruby?" Blake asked.
"If you haven't noticed, Ruby could break the sound barrier if she ate less cookies." Naruto answered as Ruby did move at a fast pace.
Blake and Weiss decided to settle for that answer before leaving. Not noticing Yang staying behind to speak with her fellow blond. Naruto could tell Yang was very nervous and looked rather hesitant.
"So how are the attempts at reconnecting?" Naruto asked.
Yang sighed, "She said she wanted milk last night. I offered to bring it and decided to go to bed instead." she answered.
"Ruby isn't naive as you think Yang, but at the same time. She's still a stubborn child." Naruto told her.
"What do you think I should do?" Yang asked.
Naruto thought of the first thing Yang could try, "Have you tried complimenting her?" he asked.
Professor Port's Class (Day 1)
Yang whispered into Blake's ear, "Tell Ruby that I like her hair." she said.
Blake nodded but sadly, this poor attempt at communication went wrong. As when it reached Weiss and eventually to Ruby. Ruby didn't understand the message properly and ended up passing it around class. To the point it reached Josuke's ears. Sadly it was a bad message that reached him.
"Cardin says your hair stupid." A student whispered.
Josuke turned bright red and ran up the bully before beating the crap out of him. If Ruby could reach mach 1, then Josuke could most likely reach lightning fast speed with how fast he was holding Cardin against the wall to beat him up.
"Josuke no!" Naruto yelled as several chains came out of his body to pull back Josuke.
"What happened?" Adam asked.
"This asshole made fun of my hair!" Josuke yelled.
"I did not! Although, it is pretty stupid!" Cardin said only infuriating Team JASN's leader.
At lunch, behind the cafeteria
Naruto crossed his arms as he saw Yang's nervous expression, "Talk to her in person!" he told her.
"I know." Yang said learning her lesson.
Study Hall (Day 2)
Yang quickly put down a plate of cookies on the desk where Ruby was sitting a while ago. Only the girl briefly left to use the restroom. So Yang planted Ruby's favorite snack down. With great hopes that this could at least help Ruby consider talking to Yang.
When Ruby came back, her eyes were filled with stars as she grabbed a cookie and raised it over her mouth.
"Take the bait." Yang whispered.
When Ruby ate the cookie, she suddenly started to cough to the point she punched herself in the chest. Yang panicked as she was about to run in when Nora suddenly appeared. The ginger haired girl slapped Ruby's back hard enough to make the cookie come flying out.
"What happened?" Nora asked.
"I was poisoned Nora! There's poison in these!" Ruby exclaimed as Nora picked up a cookie.
"It can't be that bad can it?" Nora asked as she ate one.
Only to fall onto her back and foam from the mouth, "Please don't die Nora!" Ruby yells as she carries Nora to the infirmary.
Naruto glared at Yang as he picked up a cookie, "What did you do to these?" he asked.
Yang giggled nervously, "I may have put salt in them." she said earning another glare. "It's not my fault! We were out of sugar!" she exclaimed.
Naruto narrowed his eyes, "If you get married, I think you need to let your husband do all the cooking." he said as Yang blushed.
Emerald Forest (Day 3)
The forest was a free spot meant for training. Unless there was a class involved such as hands on learning invlovling fighting Grimm under supervision or collecting plants. Team JNPR was nearby as they had their own team practice session to work on.
Ignoring them, Team RWBY was also here and Yang was trying again to communicate with her sister. When it was ruined by a giant rock hitting her on the side of the head and making it bleed.
"RUBY!" Yang screamed as she checked the young girl's vitals.
Yang immediately put her hands together and started her chest compressions. Despite this being a bad head wound. Yang didn't realize that she wasn't supposed to be resuscitating Ruby. However she never noticed the head wound closing on it's own for some reason. Neither did anyone else as the blood was covering where Ruby was hit.
"Please baby sister! Please don't die!" Yang pleaded when Ruby sat up gasping for air.
"Holy Kishimoto! Some angel offered me salvation for five lien!" Ruby yelled before realizing her head was covered in blood.
Pyrrha ran to Ruby's side, "Ruby you were hit by a large rock. I mean a big one too." she said as she picked up a large stone that somehow hit Ruby without cracking her skull.
Ruby gasped, "Pyrrha, you saved my life!" she said before hugging the red head.
"What? No, Yang did. She was performing CPR on you while you were down." Pyrrha said.
"Yang?' Ruby asked.
Yang gave her sister a weak smile, "Yes Ruby, you were hurt and I couldn't stand by and…"
"Yang, why would you perform CPR for a head wound? What would you do if I got stabbed in the toe? Rub aloe vera?" Ruby asked as if Yang were an idiot.
"Ruby I think Yang was just trying to-AHHHH!" Pyrrha screamed as a sword came out of nowhere and stabbed her in the toe.
"Pyrrha!" Ruby screamed as she pulled out the sword.
Suddenly Glynda appeared, "Hold still Miss Nikos, we need to get some aloe vera around your neck." she said shocking Ruby.
Apparently Pyrrha's toe was fine after getting some aloe vera around her when Ruby and JNR went to check on her later
Dorm Room (Day 4)
Ruby groaned as she got her books, "Stupid books, I hate studying." she said with a pout.
Suddenly a blond person with blue eyes fell from the ceiling and tried to tackle Ruby. Ruby on the other hand, felt her instincts kick in and she jumped back. The little rose petal narrowed her eyes at her attacker and proceeded to throw a chair at them. Once they landed, Ruby began to repeatedly punch them while they were on the ground.
"Ruby stop! Please!" the intruder pleaded.
Ruby reared back her fist, "Jaune? What the heck!? I could have killed you!" she yelled.
Jaune chuckled nervously, "Sorry, I was waiting for Weiss when I slipped." he said.
Ruby gave Jaune a deadpan stare, "Jaune, you need help." she said before lifting the Arc and throwing him outside where Yang was currently hold a gift box meant for Ruby.
"Hey Ruby… ACK!" Yang yelped as Jaune landed on her and crushed the present. "Damn it Vomit Boy!" she yelled as Ruby slammed the door shut.
"I was just waiting for Weiss and I screwed up." Jaune said trying to defend himself.
Yang glared at Jaune, "I don't want to know what perverted idea you had involving Weiss, but I'm giving you one chance to walk away." she said as Jaune ran.
The boy really needed to learn how to handle rejection. At least Weiss was too disciplined to hit him like a barbarian. Meanwhile some girl with pink hair sneezed.
Behind the cafeteria (Day 5)
Yang was looking pouty as she sat on the ground. Only to look up as Naruto offered a drink. It was a kind gesture but Yang felt like she was being pities for the lack of results she was getting.
"Starving yourself won't help you." Naruto told Yang.
"It doesn't help when your own sister rarely wants to sit at your table." Yang said.
Naruto sighed as he scratched his head, "Ruby can be stubborn, a bit childish like I said but she's not stupid. At that age, Ruby was really effected." he said as he sat by her. "To be fair, I remember her hiding her tears because she said she was afraid I would leave her if she was a crybaby." he said.
That didn't help Yang feel better, "And now I gave her abandonment issues." she said.
Naruto reached out to her, "It's been 8 years and I can't blame Ruby with everything we've been through. Sometimes she can't help it if she feels frustrated." he said.
Yang looked down at the ground, "We all suffered, but Ruby is the one who had the worst of it." she said before her hands tightened into fists. Her eyes began to water, "I was so stupid! Raven just wanted to separate us out of spite for mom! I followed her because I was a stupid kid desperate for a mom's love that I forgot Summer was my real mom!" she yells as she repeatedly punches the ground.
Naruto watched as he sensed all the tension and frustration leak out of Yang. With the girl being angry and violent again as she cursed out her birth mother for harming her sister. Letting out the regret of denouncing Summer as her mother the moment she learned about Raven's existence. Yet as she pondered this, Yang stopped for a moment.
"I'm just as bad as her. I guess abandoning everyone around you is a trait." Yang said as she wrapped her arms around her knees. The tears didn't stop falling, "You know, the only reason I came to this academy. Because of a promise I made to Ruby. I knew how badly she wanted to be a huntress and that Beacon was where she wanted to learn." she said with a lot of sadness.
Naruto sat up straight, "I remember her mentioning this school a lot. She wanted nothing more than to be accepted here." he said whenever Ruby mentioned her dream.
Yang nodded, "Yeah, I was thinking of her the whole time when I saw that mop of black and red. The hood was too coincidental, I knew it wasn't all in my head." she said as her voiced started to croak. "So when I ran after Ruby. I wanted to hold her so badly, but…" he lips started to quiver as she started shaking.
Naruto knew this feeling and immediately put a gentle hand on Yang's shoulder. Hoping that Yang would calm down and speak clearly.
"Then she attacked me and said she hated me. I was so confused and scared. I knew what I did was wrong, but what broke my heart was Ruby being angry after all these years or not wanting to see me. It was her calling me "Branwen", like I'm the same as Raven!" Yang exclaimed as she continued to fight the tears.
Before Yang realized it, Naruto moved closer to her and whispered, "It's okay to cry. It's okay to weep, it's okay to feel bad, but don't let it eat you." Yang started to soften as she felt how close he was. "You learned your mistakes, if you want to fix them then don't give up. Don't let your despair kill you." he kept whispering.
Yang began to sob as she subconsciously grabbed onto Naruto. Letting out all her sorrows as Naruto just sat there holding her until she would calm down.
All the while Ruby was peaking from the corner. Wondering what Yang was doing taking her brother's attention.
Emerald Forest… again (Day 6)
Naruto put his hands on Josuke and Ruby's shoulders, "Who's excited for a double team exorcise?" he asked.
"It sounds good, I think we all need to branch out." Josuke said as Ruby nodded.
"Okay, since I invited Team RWBY. I'll let them decide who they want to partner up with." Naruto said as Ruby nodded.
Ruby stood up first and thought it over, "I think we haven't practiced in a long time Adam. Let's go!" she said not noticing Blake's sigh of relief.
Weiss studied her potential partners, "I'll take Josuke." she said having some faith that he's as good a leader as he is a fighter.
Blake looked at Yang, "You want first pick?" she asked.
"You go ahead Blake. Pick your poison." Yang said as Blake sighed.
Blake looked at Squall before looking back at Yang, "You can have Ruby's brother." she said.
Yang nodded, "You ready?" she asked Naruto.
Naruto nodded but decided to keep quiet about it as he didn't want anyone to know about their altercation a few days ago. Where Yang decided to think with her fists and ended up losing the fight. Honestly it was mercy as Yang relies too much on force than thought when it comes to fighting which left her open to being buried alive.
"Come on, try to think instead of acting." Naruto said as Yang glared at him.
"I do think! Get over here!" Yang said as she ran at Naruto at full sprint.
With Weiss
Weiss still felt a lot of hesitance in her fighting style. It didn't help that Josuke caught onto this and decided to be softer on her. Not out of her being a girl, but because he thought it would be fair to let Weiss try to perfect her semblance. Instead, he saw a half mutated piece of armor appear before it fell apart.
"Don't stand there and patronize me!" Weiss said angrily as Josuke just stood there.
"Okay." Josuke said as two blue and pink gauntlets appeared around his arms.
Before Weiss realized it, she was being chased around by a brawler like Yang. Only it looked like Josuke was stronger due to his semblance enhancing his punches and like keeping his arms safe as he punches the ground where Weiss stood. Along with the quick sword strikes that Weiss landed. With a few penetratiing his defense as Josuke stumbled around with blocking each attack.
"Don't follow the tip of my sword! Try to block the area as a whole!" Weiss said offering advice as Josuke started getting sloppy with his attacks.
His main issue being that he was looking at the sharp point of Myrtenaster. This problem left him more open to being hit than it did in helping him prepare a good defense. It got worse as he noticed what the sword guard above it was for as he saw it rotate.
"Does every sword have to be a gun!?" Josuke asked before Weiss blasted him into a tree.
Suddenly Squall, Blake and Adam stopped and looked at their swords as their swords. Blake and Adam could turn them into guns, but Squall's sword was just gun shaped with an impact attack that sends foes flying once he hits them. Meanwhile Naruto was smirking at the fact that his sword used a chain similar to a fishing line for grabbing and attacking people.
Josuke recovered as he avoided Weiss' next shots before sliding down on the ground and knocking her off of her feet. Weiss attempted to reach out for Myrtenaster only for Josuke to kick it to the side.
"You need a better grip ice princess." Josuke said earning a glare from Weiss.
"Dolt." Weiss muttered as she quickly picked up her weapon again.
With Blake
Blake was practically running laps around Squall who was trying to predict her next attack. Although it seemed like Blake was at a disadvantage as Squall kept blocking every shot and quick strike Blake tried to run. Although it did seem that Squall was getting a bit frustrated as he kept missing Blake. The latter assumed it was because she was too fast for Squall who was quite eager to hit her.
At this point, Blake could notice the look of distaste on Squall's face. The girl almost glared at Squall thinking she was one of those humans that discriminated faunus. Only to quickly adjust the bow on her head before jumping over Squall and shooting at him. The dark haired boy avoided the attacks and rushed at Blake before avoiding the kusarigama she tossed at him. In this instance, Squall quickly grabbed the chain attached to Blake's weapon and quickly yanked the girl towards him.
Blake quickly attempted to counter this only to find herself being tossed down on the ground. With a quick recovery, she sloppily tried to strike at Squall with her sword before being blasted by the impact of effect of the gun-sword. Squall could see the aura layer around Blake as she took a lot of damage from the direct impact.
"Maybe you should hide. You look pretty good at it." Squall said without trying to show much emotion.
At that moment, Blake noticed her bow starting to fall off, 'He doesn't know does he?' she wondered before getting back up to fight.
'If you're so high and mighty. Why are you acting like you're ashamed?' Squall mentally asked.
With Ruby
Ruby fell on her back before jumping back up, "You're getting better with your reflexes Adam. Though I think you still need to work on that grip." she said as Adam sighed.
"At least I'm not falling exhausted again." Adam said as Ruby had better stamina.
"Good, now I can pick it up!" Ruby said excitedly.
"NO NO NO NO!" Adam said before Ruby used her semblance and started blitzing Adam. "How many people are as fast as you!? This shouldn't even matter!" He exclaimed as Ruby kept throwing him around with quick strikes.
"I'm still using the weight seal!" Ruby said.
Adam sighed, "Then I'm taking mine off!" he said as he said as he pealed off hidden scraps of paper around his legs.
"That's the spirit Adam! Show me what you got!" Ruby said as she stopped and tried to attack him from behind.
"I don't think I want to show everyone that I got beat up by a girl three years younger than me." Adam said as Ruby always had another advantage in speed.
Then Ruby wrapped her whip around Adam's neck, "Then learn to react faster and get stronger too!" She said as Adam still lacked some unarmed combat skills.
With Naruto
Yang found herself being frustrated again by Naruto, "Hold still!" she yelled.
"If I do, you might punch my head off!" Naruto yelled.
"That's the point!" Yang replied as her eyes turned red.
"Then I'm not holding still!" Naruto said as he avoided the shots from Yang's gauntlets.
Naruto used his chakra to run up a tree before jumping off of it. Where he proceeded to throw the metal chain connected to his sword. Yang rolled out of the way, but not without the chain coming back to wrap around her legs. Once immobilized, Naruto pulled Yang towards him by reeling in the chain. Yang grits her teeth as she tries to break off the chains before finding herself getting to close to Naruto.
"Never leave your enemies open Goldie." Naruto said coming up with a nickname for Yang.
"Don't call me Goldie!" Yang yelled as she shot him with one her bullets.
"Good, you're learning. Lesson 2, attention span." Naruto said before disappearing into leaves.
"Where did he go?" Yang asked herself.
When suddenly her eyes widened and she found herself climbing up a tree. Yang didn't stop for a second until she was sitting on a branch. The blonde girl was very sure Naruto was about to bury her up to her neck again. Only to be surprised by Naruto tackling her down from behind.
"You're a lot more smart than you let on." Naruto said.
"You are starting to piss me off!" Yang said as she started squeezing him.
Naruto grunted, "Okay, lessons are over. Time for the exam!" Naruto said as locked his legs around Yang and tried spinning around.
The result was Yang landing on the ground with Naruto using her as a cushion, "Don't get mad Goldie! It's not a pretty look!" he said taunting her.
Yang's eyes started to turn red, "That's it!" she yelled before punching him into a tree.
Naruto grunted loudly, "I swear, not all of my lesson plans work on everyone." he said before rolling away from another punch.
Naruto avoided punch after punch along with a kick aimed for his chest. Being careful, he avoided trying to use force on Yang. Not out of trying to be soft, but rather the fact that using force on someone with equal or superior strength is a bad idea. So unlike Ruby and Adam, Yang relied more on brute force and had greater endurance. So attacking her wildly like the other day when he lost control was a bad idea.
Instead, he relied on using speed and momentum to beat Yang. So with the next punch that came, Naruto carefully timed the attack and briefly lifted Yang over his shoulder and flipped her on the ground. Not without feeling some loss of balance though.
"You ready to think?" Naruto asked as Yang quickly got up and tried shooting him again. "Stop dodging and fight back! And no cheap tricks either!" She said.
Naruto chuckled, "Don't say I didn't warn you! Earth Style: Rock Gun!" he said as he shot a rock out of his mouth.
"I said fight! Not spit!" Yang yelled as she blocked the rock with her wrists. Not without wincing in pain as her aura took a mini dent, "Seriously?" she asked before being slowly barraged by more.
"I'm going easy on you. I did this with clones and we destroyed a small house doing this." Naruto said as he shot another rock at Yang.
"No fair! I can't use magic!" Yang yelled as she ran away from the rocks.
As Naruto continuously fired on Yang. The girl hid behind some bushes and trees where she started grabbing all the rocks she could. After a minute of taking cover, Yang sneaked around the corner. Despite being unable to surprise Naruto with her change in tactical position. Yang did surprise him by revealing her rocks.
"I call upon the power of Zeus!" Yang yells as she throws rocks at him.
Of course Naruto avoided them but only by using Ruby's semblance, "Strong, fun and educated enough to know mythology. Sounds like my ty- AHH!" he yelled as Yang hit him square in the forehead.
"Gotcha!" Yang yelled as she pounced on him and started punching him while he was on the ground.
Back with Ruby
Just as Adam managed to find a sweet spot to hit Ruby and make her crash back down. He was about to strike when he was ambushed by another bright ball of energy. One that was much more intense than Ruby herself in terms of positivity.
"SNEAK ATTACK!" Nora screamed as she shoulder rushed Adam.
Adam collapsed on the ground and rolled to look at Nora, "Hey what did you do that for!?" he asked almost sounding angry.
Blake turned to look at the spot where Adam was. With a look of horror on her face, she aimed her weapon for where he was. Almost expecting Adam to enter an angry rage as if he were about to tranform into the Hulk. Instead, what he said next surprised her.
"That hurt my feelings." Adam said looking depressed behind his eye mask.
Nora dropped Magnahilde and waved her arms around, "Wait! Wait! Wait! I'm sorry! I was just uh! Uh! Uh! Just…"
"SNEAK ATTACK!" Adam yelled as he sweeped Nora's legs while Ruby elbow dropped her.
"Teamwork!" Ruby said as she helped Adam stand up.
"Hey! You tricked me!" Nora said as she tried to stand.
Adam patted Ruby's shoulder, "I learned that from Naruto. Mental manipulation." he said.
Nora gasped, "You tricked me!" she said pointing an accusing finger at them.
"What are you even doing here Nora?" Ruby asked curiously.
At the same time, Blake crashed into a tree near them. Likely by the fact that she stopped paying attention to Squall who added a forcible impact from his gunblade. Ignoring that, Nora pointed at her fellow teammates who entered the woods. All of whom, looked very embarrassed by the sudden actions of their ginger haired teammate.
"Guys! We were supposed to ambush them together!" Nora whined.
Ren sighed, "Sorry guys, Nora is a bit eccentric." he said.
Ruby laughed it off, "Don't worry about it." she said not seeing Nora as a threat.
"So are you guys having a tournament or something?" Nora asked excitedly.
"A team practice that I suggested." Naruto said speaking up.
When suddenly Yang grabbed him in a reverse headlock, "Never put your guard down!" she said.
"Damn! I forgot my own lesson plan!" Naruto said as Yang dragged him down.
Nearly everyone sweat dropped at the sight, "You guys want to join?" Ruby asked.
Pyrrha briefly looked at Jaune who looked away in hesitance for some reason. Before smiling and grabbing onto his arm. Almost as if she had made a decision without speaking with her teammates about it.
"I think it's a wonderful idea. It's a good chance to connect with our fellow classmates and branch out." Pyrrha said jovally.
Jaune looked around before noticing Weiss, "Yeah, it sounds like a good idea." he said optimistically.
"I say free for all! Make room!" Nora said as she body slammed Yang and Naruto.
With Jaune
As Jaune made his way to Weiss who was forming more controllable glyphs. Josuke noticed Jaune approaching and quickly destroyed the underdeveloped glyphs.
"Hey guys, mind if I cut in?" Jaune asked when Weiss surprisingly smiled at him.
Jaune was about to smile back when Weiss crushed his hopes, "Sure thing Jaune. Josuke here is an amazing partner. Josuke, teach him some moves!" she said as she shoved Jaune in front of him.
"Wait what?" Jaune asked.
Josuke formed up his gloves again, "Come on buddy, don't be afraid. You'll feel anxious at first, but it gets easy once you find a fighting style." he said.
"Um I… ok!" Jaune said as he brought up Crocea Mors.
"Don't be afraid if you get a bit ruff." Josuke says as he throws the first hit.
'I wouldn't be afraid at all if Weiss was my partner!' Jaune mentally whined.
That afternoon
After a long training session, most of the group felt exhausted and sore from all the fighting. Some people were disappointed for various reasons. Such as Squall as he shook his head as he left behind an exhausted looking Blake, Jaune from not spending time with Weiss and Nora for getting knocked out first for some reason. Most likely her getting excited and too eager to fight before someone managed to hit her on some spot that knocked her unconscious.
"Okay." Naruto said as he winced from being sore. "I think we should call it a day. I think we blew up the training ground too badly. So let's leave before Goodwitch arrives and gets angry." he said as everyone nodded.
"I think I'll take a lecture than this." Jaune said as he gripped his shoulder.
Then Josuke put a palm on his shoulder make Jaune cringe, "Oh yeah, let me get that for you." he said.
"No wait! I think…!" Jaune stopped mid-sentence as his shoulder started glowing green.
"Better?" Josuke asked with a grin.
"Yes actually." Jaune said sounding surprised as the pain was gone. "Hey by the way, I noticed you have a big aura reserve." he said.
This caught Jaune off guard, "I do?" the teen asked.
"Yeah, I mean you took a lot of hits but you have a big reserve like me. Though it's tricky if you have a semblance like mine or Weiss. Since it takes a lot of concentration just to build it up." Josuke explained as he changed the form of his arm.
"Wow." Jaune said sounding a bit envious.
"So what's your semblance if you don't mind me asking?" Josuke asked only to see Jaune hang his head in shame.
"I… I haven't unlocked it." Jaune said dejectedly.
"Serious? It's okay bud, if you want help. I think anyone from any team is willing to help." Josuke suggested.
"No thanks, I can figure things out on my own." Jaune said before walking away.
Josuke looked confused, "Okay, it's up to you I guess." he said before noticing Squall already left too.
At the same time, Ruby was lying her head on her brother's chest, "Big brother, hungry! Need cookies!" she said.
Naruto sighed, "I guess today can be your cheat day." he said as Ruby cheered and climbed onto his back. "Anyone else need a ride?" he asked.
"I could go for some food too!" Yang said suddenly and noticing the brief glare from Ruby.
"Is that it?" Naruto asked as everyone else passed on the chance. "Okay, hang on you two." He said before disappearing via shunshin.
Somewhere in Vale
Naruto looked around quickly, "Good, we're at the place we want to be." he said.
"CAR!" Ruby yelled as they all ran off of the road.
"Stupid kids!" yelled an angry driver who almost hit them.
"Now we're safe." Naruto said.
"And there's my favorite bakery!" Ruby said as she ran off on her own.
"Ruby wait! Damn!" Naruto cursed as Ruby was running on her own again.
Yang groaned, "Is she going to keep avoiding me?" she asked.
Naruto wanted to lie, "Probably, but I'll find some way to keep her in place." he said before they went to a fast food shack next to the bakery.
After getting their orders, the two blonds sat to wait for Ruby. No doubt the girl either made a big order or there was a line. Regardless, this would probably make a good time for a strategy meeting for the two now that the Rose girl was distracted.
"What are you going to try and say?" Naruto asked as Yang felt nervous.
"Um, I'm between asking her about her day and getting on my knees and begging." Yang said sheepishly.
Naruto slapped his forehead, "I thought I was bad at talking to girls." he said. Then he thought of something, "Hold on, maybe I can… no Ruby would see through that." He said.
"What can you do?" Yang asked.
"I have this technique called henge. Some of the techniques I have are from an old language and this one translates to transformation. It lets me transform into anything with anything within the realm of imagination." Naruto explained.
"Good! Turn into me and try to get it started so that we can trade places." Yang said before she went to hide behind the dumpsters.
"Yang I need to, augh!' Naruto groaned as he closed his eyes and pictured Yang.
He was suddenly surrounded by smoke before looking like the girl at first glance. Just in time for Ruby who arrived with a large box of what Naruto assumed to be cookies.
"Oh it's you." Ruby said bluntly.
"Hey Ruby, Naruto is in the bathroom. So I thought maybe we can finally catch up. I know with everything…"
"Your boobs are saggy." Ruby interrupted.
"Eh?" Naruto asked.
"Your boobs are super saggy. They're going to fall like an wet paper towel holding a grapefruit." Ruby said making her brother look self conscious.
Naruto glared at her, "I am trying to be civil and professional. Why are you so rude?" He asked.
Ruby gave him a blank stare, "It would help if the real Yang gets out here." she said.
Yang came out from her hiding spot looking embarrassed. While at the same time looked at Naruto awkwardly as his disguise did a bad job around the chest area.
"Your eyes are also bright purple." Yang commented as Naruto sighed and returned to normal.
Naruto decided to just ignore the criticism and enjoy his fries. It was garbage compared to ramen, but it had to do. He had to see how things went, he didn't want to force Ruby to forgive her or look like he was taking sides, but he just wanted less tension to build up in Team RWBY. The last thing he needed is Ruby to become this hateful person.
'Let's see how this goes. I have a child and reckless girl, one of them is mature so this shouldn't be too bad.' Naruto thought.
Then Ruby spoke, "So tell me, how long have you two been meeting behind my back?" she asked making Naruto choke on his fries.
Now Yang was terrified. This left her wondering if Ruby has been spying on them. Not only that, but leaving her wondering how long she's been doing it. Then again, Ruby could be doing that trick where this is actually an accusation and she doesn't really know. Where Yang Ruby how she knew and Ruby would say, "I didn't" to make them admit to their meetings.
"How did you know?" Yang asked anyways.
"I keep seeing you sneaking off behind the cafeteria." Ruby said answering one theory. "Now tell me!" she demanded.
"A little over a week." Naruto answered truthfully.
Ruby glared at her adoptive brother, "And when were you going to tell me?" she asked.
Naruto sighed, "Hopefully when you two were in speaking terms." he said. Ruby didn't stop glaring, "Little sister, I'm not siding with anyone. I just want you to have some connection to your teammates. I get that you don't like Yang and trust me, a part of me still doesn't like her." he said earning a glare from Yang.
Yang shook her head and looked at Ruby again, "Ruby I really do want to talk. I know you think I'm trash." she said.
"That's only because I'm not allowed to curse." Ruby muttered.
"But please hear me out. I'm not asking for pity or anything! I've been thinking about you non-stop for about 8 years now!" Yang said in a pleading tone.
Ruby opened her box and crossed her arms, "One chance, tell me what happened with Raven." she said before munching on her cookies.
For the next 20 minutes, Yang explained her bad life under Raven's care. If care is even the proper way to call what Raven did. However at the same time, Yang was careful with her words as she didn't want to sound like she was a charity case. The whole time Yang talked about her brief time under the abusive conditions Raven forced her to go through, Ruby was eating her cookies more aggressively but still listened then.
"And before I realized it, Qrow showed up and saved me… but it was just him. Mom and dad are really gone." Yang said finishing her story with much sadness in her voice.
*MUNCH*
Ruby stayed still for a moment as her expressionless face became solemn. She looked down at her hands and registered what Yang had just told her. For years, she had accepted that her parents were dead when they had promised to be back soon. Qrow was with them on their mission and Ruby thought her uncle was also dead. Yet, Yang just stated that he was alive and found her. Ruby shook her head as she didn't want to get emotional yet.
Ruby wiped the crumbs from her lips, "And then what?" she asked trying to shake her thoughts away about the revelation.
Yang's eyes turned blue again, "We went to Patch to look for you. Only we found the house was burned down and the only thing left was your old hood." she said. Yang did her best not to get emotional again, "I thought that when all that was left… I thought you were…"
"I could have died Yang. At least until Naruto found me thinking mom was still with us." Ruby said interrupting her.
It was mostly right, Ruby was in mortal danger after Yang abandoned her. Except she wasn't in total danger shortly afterwards when Naruto found her alone in those woods. Although the part about Summer was right. Seeing as Naruto heard about Summer being his mother's cousin and living on Patch with Taiyang.
"I know that and I can never forgive myself. I hate myself for not even thinking about abandoning my real family for some woman who was jealous of mom." Yang said.
After living with Qrow for so long. Yang learned more about her mother's past and both could only assume Raven was jealous of Summer in some sick way. Yet she won Taiyang's heart only to throw it away because put her pride in her strength first. In other words, she saw her nine months of carrying Yang as dead weight. Whereas Yang is technically nothing to Summer and still saw the girl as if Summer herself gave birth to her. As well as still loving her even after having Ruby.
Ruby clenched her fist, "If you want forgiveness then we can talk about it tomorrow in the Emerald Forest." she said.
Naruto raised a brow, "What are you planning?" he asked.
"If Yang wants forgiveness, she has to work for it." Ruby said before standing up. "Let's go big brother, you're buying me more cookies." she said.
Naruto sighed, "At least she's willing to hear you out." he told Yang before he left.
Yang gave a weak smile as she looked down, 'Baby steps right?' She wondered.
Later that afternoon, Team RWBY Dorm Room
Ruby hasn't returned yet and there was no doubt she would probably try to avoid sleeping here again. At least until Naruto would tie her up again and keep her in bed. Weiss did think about freezing Ruby in place, but the ice would melt and likely drip on her face or loosen the ropes keeping her bed suspended above Weiss. Blake suggested traps but that would be a pain to clean up in the morning, especially with Ruby being able to jump around amateur traps with ease thanks to her agility.
However, right now, Blake and Weiss weren't focused on keeping Ruby in her real bed. Instead, they thought it was time to make Yang explain the tension between her and her sister. As the two were really feeling annoyed about all this tension. They knew Ruby would avoid them when it came to this but Yang was likely a lot more easier to get to as she would have a more difficult time escaping confrontation.
Which explained why Yang felt surprised by Blake and Weiss waiting for her at the dorm. Before finding her legs wrapped around by Gambol Shroud's rope and being knocked onto her back to prevent any escape.
"We need to talk." Blake said making Yang nervous.
"This is going long enough. I'm not one to pry about someone else's private life, but this is really effecting us outside of class." Weiss said having developed some comradeship so far with her teammates.
Yang sighed, "You two are going to think I'm trash if you hear this." she said.
"It's not going to get any better if we keep ignoring it." Weiss shot back.
"You two are going to want to sit down for this." Yang said as she tried untying the rope around her legs.
A few minutes later
Like with Naruto and Ruby, Yang explained her stupidity and choice to follow Raven. Which lead to her brief explanation as to her horrible time with how Raven raised her to be a bandit instead of raising her in a normal setting. As well as ending the story with Qrow taking her away from Raven but leaving it at that. As they already knew how things were turning out with Ruby.
Weiss and Blake could understand what Ruby meant when she was trying to beat up Yang on orientation day.
"I hate you! I'll always hate you Yang Branwen!"
Ruby's words and crying face were still in their minds when she tried to assault Yang. Although both had their own opinions on how they felt about Yang for making a stupid choice. They understood that Yang really wanted her sister's forgiveness and to be by her side again. Although Weiss felt angrier for some reason. Because she suddenly walked up to Yang and slapped her across the face.
It didn't hurt that much and Weiss wasn't the strongest member in terms of pure strength. Although it did emotionally sting.
"I can understand that you want redemption Yang. So forgive me if I still hate the fact that you left your sister for a woman that abandoned you." Weiss said despite attempting to restrain her anger.
Yang winced at her words before looking at Blake. She expected something similar but only saw the dark haired girl look away. Making her think that Blake was too ashamed to look at her partner.
"I know I'm trash, but Ruby said she's willing to give me a chance if I meet her tomorrow at the Emerald Forest." Yang said as Weiss and Blake nodded.
"Yang, I know I was.. less than hospitable but I think Ruby's helped me open up a bit." Weiss said as her partner has earned her respect in the past few days. "While I have no reason to say this. I'm warning you not to screw up your one chance." she said.
Yang nodded, "I know, I'm not going to be stupid again." she said.
Meanwhile Blake was still silent during this exchange. Almost as if she was thinking about something else. As if Yang's story of abandonment really hit her hard in some way.
With that said and done, the girls changed into their pajamas and prepared to sleep. Although they were all prepared for Naruto to walk in late at night to tie Ruby to the bed. No doubt followed by some whining and rebelling on Ruby's part. As by now, Weiss and Blake understood that Ruby never slept in the dorm as to avoid her sister.
*BZZZZ*
Weiss looked at her scroll and saw a new message appear. With all the talk of siblings, Weiss groaned as she read her message.
"Hi Princess! I heard you passed the exams and made it into Beacon! I hope you don't mind your favorite sibling visiting!"
Weiss sighed, "Only you." she said.
"For all shall envy the gallant of the Schnee. The man with no enemies in the North, East, South or West! The man who makes women swoon and babies stop crying!"
Weiss groaned, "Don't text me the speech." she whined.
"The Classy Pervert! Jiraiya Schnee!"
"Noooooo." Weiss said trying to keep herself from screaming.
"I'll see you tomorrow!"
"Stupid older brother." Weiss muttered before going to sleep.

Naruto's Announcement:
Naruto chuckled as he got a red curtain ready for everyone to see, "Ladies and gentlemen, I present my greatest invention." he announced.
"What is it?" Blake asked curiously.
"It better not be a ramen machine or something." Weiss said with annoyed expression.
Naruto quickly started writing on a notepad, "Make ramen machine." he murmured.
"Just show us man! I wanna see it!" Josuke exclaimed.
Naruto grinned as he unveiled the red curtain and revealed a giant sign.
JASN Chibi!
Then suddenly, an army of chibi people appeared and waved at the crowd. With all of them having the same appearance as everyone in attendance. This got various mixed reactions as to what Naruto had presented to them.
"Oh my gosh! They're so cute!" Ruby squealed as she picked up chibi Ruby.
Chibi Weiss groaned, "Of course, regular Ruby is still a child. At least I can't expect that from you. Right regular Weiss?" she asked.
Regular Weiss doted on chibi Weiss and poked her stomach, "Aren't you the cutest little thing. Do you want a cookie? Or a glass of lemonade?" she asked in a cutesy voice.
"Weiss! Control yourself! You can't be fawning over cute things!" Chibi Weiss exclaimed before Weiss picked her chibi self up and tossed her in the air.
"Oopsie daisy!" Weiss said as she played with her chibi self.
Meanwhile Ozpin was glaring at chibi Ozpin, "Do you need that much coffee?" he asked.
Chibi Ozpin drank from a giant cup, "Yes, I do actually." he answered.
"Can you at least share?" Ozpin asked.
"No, I cannot." chibi Ozpin answered before drinking again.
At the same time, chibi Blake was glaring at chibi Adam while chibi Squall glared at Blake. Making chibi Adam feel real uncomfortable while Josuke was styling chibi Josuke's hair. For some reason, chibi Yang was covered in fire and chasing around chibi Naruto who was avoiding her. For some reason, a chibi Winter Schnee was also there with a headset and mini satellite to listen in on everyone.
"So you made an army of chibis. Why?" Squall asked.
"It was his idea." Naruto said pointing at another chibi.
"You thought it was one of Naruto's shenanigans, but it was I! Chibi R0tatcid!" Chibi R0tatcid said before running off stage and back to his hiding space with his typewriter.
"That was weird." Ren said.
"I love chibis!" Nora exclaimed as she picked up Chibi Team JNPR, all at the same.
Then suddenly Chibi R0tatcid came out again, "Time for the World of Remnant Secret!" he announced as everyone paid attention to him again.

"Ozpin's addiction to caffeine dates back to his original incarnation as Ozma. It's said that the caffeine gave him a heart attack. So upon rebirth, Salem got into a nasty fight with him about his addiction. So Ozma attempted to leave with the children and this made Salem hysterical.
