The next afternoon Teddy and Owen were sitting on their apartment balcony when he noticed her tense.

"You okay," Owen asked.

"I'm so done," Teddy complained.

"You keep tensing," Owen said.

"I can't tell if it's Braxton Hicks or contractions," Teddy replied.

"Can I time them," Owen asked.

"I have been," Teddy admitted, "every 15 minutes and getting closer together."

"What do you want to do," Owen asked.

"It's too early to go," Teddy said, "we're here for a while."

"Food, a shower," Owen asked, thinking about the list Carina Deluca had given them to help Teddy be comfortable and get things moving well.

"A slow walk," Teddy suggested.

"Just around the complex," Owen said, not wanting to go too far.

"Yes," Teddy replied.

"Ready," Owen said, standing up and offering her his hands.

"I'm ready," Teddy said, putting her hands in his.

Owen pulled her to her feet. At the door she slipped her feet into her flip flops not being able to wear other shoes right now. The walked slow laps around the apartment building.

"Teddy it's less than 8 minutes between," Owen said.

"We can't go to the hospital until it's less than 5," Teddy said, "can we go back in?"

"Do you want something to eat or a shower," Owen offered.

"No," Teddy said, "I keep wanting to do squats my body is just trying to do them."

"Carina said it would open up your pelvis," Owen said, "let's go in and relax. Maybe sitting on your ball will help."

Teddy didn't respond she doubled over as a contraction hit.

"Fuck," she hissed.

"That was stronger," Owen said rubbing her back, "let's go in."

Owen helped Teddy inside she found her ball and tried to sit on it.

"Sitting isn't working," Teddy whined.

"What do you want to do," Owen asked.

"Standing was better," Teddy said bracing herself in the back of the couch.

"Okay," Owen replied standing with her and putting one hand on her back.

"Keep doing that," Teddy said, "both hands."

Teddy swayed and rocked her hips trying to keep moving so it hurt less.

"Umm Teddy," Owen said.

"I think that's my water," Teddy replied before another contraction hit.

"That's too close together," Owen said.

"I'm not leaving," Teddy said, "we're having the baby here."

"Teddy we have to go it's 4 minutes apart," Owen said.

"No," Teddy moaned, "I want to push now."

"Don't push," Owen said.

"Fuck this hurts," Teddy screamed.

"Teddy can I check you," Owen asked.

"Fast," Teddy whimpered.

"Lay on our bed," Owen suggested.

He helped her move to the bed and laid a couple towels under her. Sliding her pants and underwear off he helped her position her legs.

"Good," he soothed, "breathe Teddy your doing good."

Owen looked she was nearly 9cm, "your almost at 9cm"

Sh whined, "How?"

"We have to go," Owen said.

"Owwwww," Teddy screamed curling up off the bed.

"You've gone from 4 to 2 minutes in three contractions," Owen said.

"Not leaving," Teddy panted.

"Okay," Owen said, "let me call Carina and let her know."

"Ambulance," Teddy panted.

"You'll probably deliver here," Owen said, "what would be more comfortable?"

"I need to sit up," Teddy said, "knees felt good earlier."

"When you were leaning on the couch," Owen asked.

Teddy nodded her whole body tensing.

"I'm too hot," Teddy whined.

Owen looked she was naked from the waist down, "do you want your shirt off?"

Teddy nodded. Owen helped her remove her shirt before calling Carina.

"I saw the two of you walking the neighborhood dr Hunt," Carina said, "I've seen you walking a lot I think I'm just across the street. Do you want me to come?"

"I'll ask Teddy," Owen said, he covered the end of the phone and asked, "Teds Carina only lives across the street and she's home. She saw us walking do you want her to come?"

"Yes," Teddy moaned.

"She wants you to come," Owen said into his phone, "1235 8th ave. Unit 408."

Moments later there was a knock on the door Owen opened it and the OB stepped in quickly.

"Okay Teddy," Carina said approaching Teddy, "how are you doing?"

"It hurts," Teddy moaned.

"It does," Carina said, "I'm going to get you to lie down so I can examine you."

"No," Teddy moaned, "I can't move."

Owen knelt beside Teddy rubbing her back, "I can help you move."

"No," Teddy snapped.

"Okay I'm going to do my exam," Carina said.

Teddy arched her back.

"Try not to push just yet," Carina said.

"Why did it go so fast," Owen asked.

"She was probably dilating before she felt contractions or before she told you," Carina said, "I see it in first time moms and athletes where they don't register the pain. Teddy how is your pain tolerance."

"Higher than anyone I've seen," Owen answered for her.

"Your at 10," Carina said.

"I have to push," Teddy moaned.

"Push," Carina said.

Teddy gave it everything she could. The paramedics arrived, Owen told them to wait in the hall.

"Your doing so good Teddy," Owen soothed.

"I can't," Teddy whined.

"You've got this major," Owen coaxed, "you can do this. She's almost here, our baby girl is almost here."

"She's crowning," Carina said.

"This hurts," Teddy screamed pushing harder.

"Just wait," Carina said.

"I have to push," Teddy sobbed.

"One minute," Carina said, "you push you tear."

"Distract me," Teddy sobbed.

"I love you," Owen said, "I'm in love with you. I've been in love with you since the day we met. Teddy you are the love of my life, you are so strong. I love you, I love our daughter."

"Okay Teddy," Carina said, "on the next contraction."

Owen kept stroking Teddy's back, having learned weeks before that she liked physical contact when she was upset or in pain.

Teddy pushed as hard as she could.

"The head is out," Carina said supporting the baby, "one more for the shoulders."

Teddy gave it a last big push and Carina cradled the baby, "Dr Hunt can you cut the cord?"

"I will," Owen said grabbing the clamps and scissors from the medical kit they kept at home.

Owen cut the cord and took the baby from Carina.

"I want to see her," Teddy sobbed.

"Let's turn over," Carina said.

Carina helped Teddy move so she was sitting on the living room floor. Owen placed the baby in her arms.

"Hi," Teddy cooed, "hello. Hi baby."

"What's her name," Carina asked.

"Allison," Teddy and Owen said together.

"You look good," Carina said, "but I want to take you to Seattle Grace and have both of you checked out."

"I thought so," Owen said.

"Can we help you put something on," Carina asked Teddy.

"After she gets skin to skin time," Teddy said.

"Let's grab one of my button downs," Owen suggested, "then you have a shirt but can still have her against your skin."

Teddy nodded. Owen grabbed one of his button downs from the closet and helped her put it on.

The paramedics came back in and helped Teddy move to the gurney.

They rushed to the hospital and Teddy was checked in.

"Dr Hunt," Christina Yang said.

"Dr Yang," Owen said, "I'm not here to work."

"Why are you here," Christina asked.

"I was just sent to do paper work," Owen said, "my fiancé just had our daughter."

"Fiancé," Christina asked.

"Dr Yang I've been very straight with you. I'm engaged and have a daughter," Owen said, "my fiancé will start work here as your cardio mentor in November."

"Cardio," Christina asked.

"Teddy is an incredible cardiothoracic surgeon," Owen said, "I'm going to go see her and our daughter."

Owen finished the last of the paperwork and walked back to Teddy's room.

"How are my girls," Owen smiled at Teddy.

"Good," Teddy said.

"Teddy can I," Owen asked.

"You can hold her," Teddy said.

Owen snuggled their daughter sitting on the edge of Teddy's bed. Teddy leaned against him.

"We should tell people she's here," Teddy said.

"We should," Owen said.

"How's she," Teddy asked.

"I think she's asleep," Owen said, "she's had her first meal, snuggles with us and now she's asleep. Can I call my mom?"

"And Carly," Teddy said.

Owen stepped out and called Evelyn, "mom it's a girl. Allison Megan Hunt. About 2 hours ago. 7 pounds 1 ounce. 20 inches."

"Your just calling me," Evelyn said, "you didn't even tell me Teddy was in labour."

"It was a fast labour. We thought it was early then things went quickly she actually delivered at home," Owen said.

"At home," Evelyn gasped.

"We thought we had more time then things went fast and she was ready and it was too late to move her," Owen said.

"Can we come," Evelyn asked.

"Give Teddy and Allison a couple hours," Owen said, "Teddy's kinda in shock right now. We both are."

"We'll come later," Evelyn agreed, "congratulations Owen hug Teddy and Allison for me."

"I will," Owen agreed.
