The morning after Jaden's duel against Chazz, the new students were currently in their first class of the year and of the day. Unfortunately, the first class was with Dr. Crowler, and Jaden was having a hard time staying awake. This was the most boring class he's had till this point of his life. Crowler was talking about the basics of the game and was sending the occasional glare his way.

"Now, who would like to explain the different monsters of the game?" Crowler asked as his eyes immediately went to the back where all the Obelisk sat. "Miss Kaiba, would you be so kind and explain to the rest of the class?" He asked the young bluenette, who seemed just as bored, if not more, than Jaden was. "But please use simple words, so the Slifer's can understand as well."

Erina scowled as he said the last part. These kids are here to learn, not to be berated. She stood up. "Sure… There are four types of monsters at this point of the game: Normal, Effect, Ritual..." She had an evil glint in her eye. "And lastly, Fusion monsters, which I'm sure you're more than familiar with from the other day, aren't you, Doctor?" She sat down with a satisfied look as Crowler's face twisted into a frown.

"T-thank you, Miss Kaiba." He cleared his throat. "I'd expect nothing less from a member of the Elites." He crowed, making Erina frown. Crowler looked around the room searching for someone to continue. His eyes fell upon Alexis. "Miss Rhodes, could you explain to the class the different types of spells and traps in the game?" Crowler asked the blond who had quickly gained a fan club of boys and the title 'Queen of Obelisk', much to her annoyance and dismay.

Alexis nodded and stood up. "The spells are grouped into Normal Spells, Quick-Play Spells, Continuous Spells, Equip Spells, Field Spells and Ritual Spells. Trap cards can be grouped into Normal Traps, Counter Traps and Continuous Traps." She explained with confidence.

Crowler clapped happily. "Perfect! Well done, Alexis! Oh, you Obelisks are just perfect!" He said snobbishly and Alexis silently sat down.

"Now, who's next?" Crowler scanned over the room again. Jaden noticed the glint in his eye as his gaze stopped next to him, staring directly at Syrus. "Mr. Truesdale!"

Syrus sprung up from his seat immediately. Jaden could see that his friend was nervous. "Y-yes, Dr. Crowler?"

"Please explain to the class what a field spell is."

Syrus was sweating nervously. "Well… uhm… a-a field spell is… uhm a spell…"

Crowler smirked. "Even a grade schooler knows that one, Mr. Truesdale. Now, sit down before you embarrass yourself further."

Syrus got a sullen look as almost all the Ras and all the Obelisks laughed at him with the exception of Erina and Alexis, who gave Crowler a very dirty look, disgusted by the way their teacher was berating the small Slifer. Jaden gritted his teeth in irritation as he watched his friend shrink into his seat, trying to disappear.

Jaden suddenly slammed his hands on the desk, silencing the whole class, and stood up. He gave the Doctor a cold stare. "Crowler…" He addressed him coldly. "You do know that we all are here to learn the game better, right? Some of these students don't know as much about it or have anxiety issues, so they have a hard time working under pressure." A shimmer of gold flicked across his eyes as his Supreme King powers slipped for a second. "So if you're so adamant about stroking your own ego by bullying the Slifers. Why don't you show some backbone and bully the one Slifer who can fight back." Jaden grinned. "Pick on me. But, just remember that I beat you in one turn." Jaden sat back down and relaxed in his seat as the whole Slifer dorm, plus a few Ras, began to clap and cheer.

Jaden couldn't see Alexis staring at him with interest, her gaze fixated on the back of his head as her lips formed a small smile. Erina, a few seats away from the blond, noticed this and smirked knowingly.

Crowler was seething and bit down on a handkerchief as he glared at Jaden. 'That's it! I won't allow this slacker to stay in this school any longer! I'll make sure he gets expelled before tomorrow!'

Jaden liked Professor Banner's class. He was such a laidback, kind and friendly teacher, and unlike Crowler, he didn't have that stupid rule where he was forcing everyone to sit split into dorms. Banner liked to have a pleasant atmosphere and let everyone sit with their friends from the other dorms if they'd like. And due to this, Erina was sitting at the bottom with Jaden, silently talking among each other about what they were going to do after classes today.

Jaden heard someone call his name and he looked at his other side at Syrus. "What's up, Sy?"

Syrus gave him a smile. "I just wanted to thank you for standing up for me during Dr. Crowler's class."

Jaden smiled and patted him on the back. "Don't mention it. That's what friends do, Sy."

"Syrus?"

The small Slifer stood up, afraid that this would be a repeat of last class. "Y-yes, Professor Banner?"

"Do me a favor and pick up Pharaoh for me, would you?" The headmaster asked with a warm smile.

"Uh… Pharaoh?" Syrus questioned, slightly confused what Banner was talking about.

"Yes, unless you want to become his new scratching post." Banner joked.

As he said that, everyone heard a loud meowing coming from Syrus' leg, making the short boy jump in shock as he saw Banner's fat cat rubbing itself on his leg. Syrus quickly picked him up and moved to give him back to Banner. "I'm sorry Professor, I didn't know his name was Pharaoh."

Banner smiled as he took the cat from Syrus' hands. "Don't worry, Syrus, many others were also confused by his name. Now please return to your seat so we can continue with the lecture."

Syrus smiled at him and went back to his seat. Banner continued his lesson now talking about something both Jaden and Erina found interesting. He was talking about the ancient shadow games. Both of them knew a lot from Jaden's dad and Yubel also adding what she knew, but they still found it interesting to hear again.

Crowler was currently sitting in his office writing a letter with an angry expression plastered across his face. "How dare that slacker make a mockery of me in front of the entire class?! I'll make him pay for it by getting him thrown out of the school forever!"

Crowler then put the letter in an envelope. He then took a mirror and started placing red lipstick on his lips. As he finished, he placed a kiss on the letter. "There, the big kiss off!" He chuckled to himself. "Now it looks like a real love letter, and if I remember correctly that slacker's next class will be Gym Class." Crowler laughed as he left his office, heading towards the boys locker room to put his plan in motion.

Crowler arrived at the locker room and began looking through the lockers. Upon opening the fourth one he saw Jaden's boots and PDA inside. He let out a cruel chuckle before he placed the envelope on the shoes. "Now, when that slacker sees it, he will walk right into my trap!" He laughed and left.

Soon after that, Syrus came running into the locker room in a panic. "Oh man, I'm soo late! I have to hurry!" He opened his locker and sighed. "Jaden took my locker by mistake..."

Syrus took out his shoes causing a letter to fall out. Syrus looked at it confused before he picked it up and noticed the kiss mark on it. "Wait, is this…?" He looked around, making sure there wasn't anyone around before he opened it.

Syrus' eyes widened as he read it. " I've loved you since I first met you." He read, a red blush creeping up his cheeks. "I've been looking at you from afar and felt a connection. Meet me at the Girls' Dorm tonight at midnight. Your love… Alexis Rhodes?!"

Syrus felt like he was the luckiest guy on the planet. He quickly changed into his gym clothes and ran off to class.

Jaden and Erina were stretching and discussing what they wanted to do during the class.

"Hey, is it just me or have some of the girls been leering at me?" Erina suddenly voiced out.

"Probably." Jaden chuckled. "You've got quite the diverse fan club these days."

"Oh, haha." She laughed sarcastically. "It's annoying getting this much attention and you know it. I still wonder how no one has recognized you yet. Your parents didn't exactly hide you from the world."

Jaden gave her a sympathetic smile before he realized something. "Hey, I wonder where Syrus is? Class is about to start and he doesn't usually come late."

"Well, we are at the other side of the building from the last class, and his short legs can only carry him so much." Erina joked with a giggle.

Both of them turned forward as they heard the teacher coming over to the class. They saw a tall shapely woman with dark red hair tied in a ponytail with a couple of locks hanging forward.

"She is hot as hell." Erina mumbled to herself.

"Look who's leering now." Jaden teased.

"Shut it!" She hissed.

Both turned back to their teacher as she began to introduce herself. "Hello students! My name is Fonda Fontaine and I'll be your Gym teacher, as well as the school nurse. Now, who's ready to get sweaty?" A lot of the boys cheered, and it was obvious that it was because they had a beautiful woman as their teacher.

Jaden saw in the corner of his eye Syrus walking towards them "Hey Sy, where were you?" He asked as Syrus stood with them. "I was worried you got…" he trailed off as he saw Syrus' face. "Uh, are you ok, Sy?"

Syrus looked up at him with a big smile. "I'm just great Jaden, just great."

Jaden and Erina shared a look and shrugged, both wondering what's gotten into their friend, but left him be as class began.

It was near midnight and Syrus was towing a boat over to the girls' dorm, grinning like an idiot. What he didn't know is that in the bushes near the dorm, Crowler was hiding and waiting for Jaden to arrive due to the letter he planted.

'This is perfect! I've set the perfect bait!' Crowler thought to himself with a wicked grin. 'I'll just wait here for when the slacker comes searching for Alexis. And then I'll snap a picture of him! I'll have the perfect evidence and get him expelled!'

While Crowler was waiting for Jaden to arrive, inside the dorm, Alexis, along with her friends, a red haired girl named Jasmine and the raven haired Mindy, were enjoying the hot springs that were available right inside their dorm.

Alexas was soaking up the hot waters, lost in her own little world. That is before being snapped out of it by Jasmine's angry voice.

"Can you believe the nerve of that Jaden guy? Talking like that to Dr. Crowler even though he's a Slifer! Don't you agree, Alexis?"

"Rank has nothing to do with this, Jazz." Alexis responded, a bit ticked off that her friend was classifying everyone by their dorm color. "Jaden was defending his friend from being bullied by our teacher. It was really nice of him." She added with a smile.

"She's right, you know?" Mindy inserted herself in the conversation. "Crowler's always picking on the Slifers, so he had it coming."

Jasmine stumbled, a bit annoyed that her friends were against her. "W-well he's still a Slifer! He has no right to say things like that and he was being an arrogant jerk!"

"I don't know, he did beat Crowler, so he's got some say." Countered Mindy.

"He just got lucky! Otherwise there's no way he could've beat him."

Alexi sighed. "That's not true, Jasmine. I watched his duels against Crowler and Chazz. He carries himself with confidence, so it's not luck." She smirked. "He has the skills and I really want to see just how good he is for myself."

Alexis had no idea that she was about to get her chance earlier than she thought when Syrus waltzed into the stop he was supposed to meet Alexis.

Back on the outside, Crowler looked appalled that Syrus came and not Jaden. "That's not Jaden!" His shrieking brought attention to where he was hiding which was not a good thing for him.

"It's a boy!"

"I'm not a boy! I'm a man!" He corrected as he ran over to the water, slipping and falling into it. What he didn't see when he fell was Syrus getting ambushed by the girls.

"A love letter from Alexis?" Mindy asked after Syrus explained why he was here. Alexis and Jasmine were standing there with her. "You've got to be kidding!"

"B-but it's true! Just ask her." Syrus replied, winking at Alexis. She rolled her eyes mentally. Syrus seemed like a cool guy, but she didn't like him that way, so there's no way she'd send him a love letter. That wasn't even in her style to begin with. Someone must have played a cruel joke on him.

"Hello!" Jasmine butted in. "She's really tall and you're really short, she's skilled in dueling while you're not, she's hot and-"

"But it's true!" Syrus protested, pulling out the letter. "Here it is, read it!" Alexis took the note as she and the other girls looked it over.

"Syrus…" Alexis began. "My name isn't even spelled remotely correct." She said, confirming her suspicion that someone was joking with him.

"So you don't love me?" He asked. The two girls groaned at his persistence while Alexis just sighed.

"Hey, wait a minute!" Jasmine interrupted as she looked over the letter again. "This isn't even addressed to you. It's for Jaden Yuki!" She even pointed at his name on the letter for emphasis.

The little Slifer looked even more disappointed. "You mean I can't even get a fake love letter?" He complained, though he should've realized it was too good to be true.

"Sorry, Syrus." She apologized. "Guess we have no reason to keep you here since you were played." Alexis said, ready to let him go. He deserved some kind of break from all the embarrassment from today.

"Hold on, he could've written it himself just so he could come here." But Jasmine wasn't ready to let him go in the slightest.

"Then should we turn him in?" Mindy suggested.

"Cut him some slack, girls. He's had enough for today." Alexis said with a frown.

"Girls, what's going on down there?" The girls looked up at the balcony where Miss Fontaine emerged. Jasmine and Mindy quickly hid Syrus so she wouldn't see him. "Alright, what's going on?"

"Sorry for the noise, Miss Fontaine." Alexis apologized.

"We'll be sure to keep it down." Mindy assured.

"Well I hope so, it's nearly midnight and I have Pilates in the morning." The Obelisk headmistress said as she retreated to her room.

"So, what now?" Jasmine asked as they moved from Syrus.

An idea struck through Alexis and her eyes widened. "Well…" She smirked. "We'll use Syrus here as bait to get Jaden to come over."

"Why?" Mindy asked, puzzled.

"Remember what I said earlier?" Alexis asked. "I guess it's time to see just how good Jaden really is."

"Aren't you just the most adorable little thing!" Erina exclaimed in sweet giggles as she squeezed Winged Kuriboh in a hug. The cute fuzzball squeaked happily.

"I thought we were exploring the island?"

"Shh…" She turned to look at Jaden, his golden eyes glowing slightly in the dark. "I'm multitasking. He's just too cute!" She giggled again as she lifted the fuzzy, now physical, duel spirit.

Jaden just shook his head in amusement as they explored the dense forests of the island. This is something they always liked to do. Grandpa Muto used to take them all over the wilderness when they were little and they loved every second of it. And now with a giant island full of unexplored nature, they just couldn't help themselves.

They came across a bunch of beautiful sights as they explored. A nice peaceful riverbank, a cliff that overlooks the vast ocean, a clearing covered in flowers and a cave which they market so they can return to explore later.

"By the way, have you considered telling our friends about your two secrets down the line?" Erina suddenly asked.

Jaden took a few moments to think. "Well, if they don't figure out the first one by themselves, then yeah, I'll tell them. As for the second one…" He looked troubled before answering. "I don't know, we'll see."

Erina nodded. "Alright… Did you have another nightmare last night?"

"How did you know they're back?" Jaden asked, surprised that she knew.

"Aunt Tea told me. She was worried that they are back and with you being away, so I promised her to keep an eye on you." Erina explained, worry visible in her voice.

"Rina…" He groaned.

"Don't 'Rina' me! It's normal for them to still appear from time to time. We just want to make sure you're okay." Even Winged Kuriboh agreed as he flew up to Jaden and rubbed against Jaden's cheek.

"Yeah, alright." He relented. "If only I had them for the right reason." He mumbled under his breath.

Just then, Jaden's PDA went off. He looked at the message he got and his expression quickly turned from confused to concerned.

Erina saw this and leaned over to read it as well.

"We have Syrus hostage. Come to the lake behind the Girls' Dorm if you want him back."

Jaden sighed. "Sy, what did you get yourself into?" Jaden questioned as he pocketed his PDA and they both started running for the girls' dorm.

Erina and Jaden were walking cautiously towards the lake, ready to respond to anything. As they approached the shoreline of the lake, they could make out 4 figures, seeing them they decided to go a little faster. When they got close enough, they could see who the figures were. There stood Alexis, Jasmine, Mindy and Syrus… who was tied up with a rope?

Jaden sighed as a look of relief appeared on his face. "Oh man, it's just Alexis."

Upon hearing his words, Alexis' eyebrow rose. "What's that supposed to mean?" She asked in an offended tone.

"Relief." Jaden said plainly.

"Getting a message around midnight saying 'We have your friend, come get him', would make you expect the worst, only to come and see you girls." Erina explained.

Alexis gave a sheepish chuckle and her cheeks turned red from embarrassment. "Well, when you put it like that."

Jaden chuckled and then looked down at Syrus. "What did you do, Sy?"

"Long story short, I'm a complete loser!" He answered glumly.

His answer confused Jaden, greatly. He looked at Alexis, about to ask her what he meant, but Jasmine butted in. "Your friend trespassed into the girls' dorm!"

"It wasn't like that!" Syrus tried to defend himself.

"I didn't expect you to go peeping on the Obelisk girls, Sy." Jaden chuckled, making Syrus get redder than his jacket.

"I-I didn't!" Syrus shot back. Which only made Jaden and Erina laugh at his expense.

"And since you're also here, you're trespassing as well!" Mindy pointed at him.

Erina growled and stepped forward, ready to defend Jaden, but Alexis held out her hand and spoke before she did anything rash. "Don't worry, Erina, we'll make it fair for him." She said, then looked at Jaden. "If you don't want us to turn you in, you'll have to beat me in a duel."

Jaden smirked and pulled out his Duel Disk from the bag he was carrying. "You're on! But let's go someplace where we won't draw attention."

Alexis nodded and pointed to two boats that were on the shore. "I have the perfect spot, let's take the boats and go to the far end of the lake." Jaden nodded as he, Erina and Syrus got on one and Alexis, Jasmine and Mindy got on the other.

In the distance unknown to any of them, Crowler sat half submerged in the water and observed them. 'Damn it, he evaded my trap! They are too far from the dorm for me to get damning evidence. But at least let me see the duel.'

Back at the lake both parties were in position and Alexis and Jaden stood up on the boats against each other.

Alexis smiled. "Well, Jaden, anything you'd like to say before we begin?"

Jaden got a big smile on his face. "Only this, get your game on, Alexis!" Jaden shouted as his Duel Disk came to life.

She smiled as well, doing the same. "Alright, let's duel!"

Jaden: 4000

Alexis: 4000

"Ladies first." Jaden said.

"Aren't you a gentleman." Alexis replied as she drew her card. "I'm summoning Etoile Cyber, in attack mode."

A female with long brown hair appeared wearing a red and white bodysuit. (ATK: 1200/ DEF: 1600)

She slipped a card into her Disk. "I'll place a facedown and call it a turn."

"Nice start, let's see if I can match it." Jaden said with a smirk as he drew his card.

Jaden scanned his hand before slapping a card on his Disk. "I play Elemental Hero Sparkman in attack mode!"

A man in a blue bodysuit and gold armor and helmet appeared while unleashing electricity from his body. (ATK: 1600/ DEF: 1400)

Jaden pointed at her monster. "And now, I'll attack your Etoile Cyber! Sparkman, go, Static Shockwave!" Sparkman brought his hands together in front of him as a ball of electricity formed in them, then he fired it at Etoile Cyber.

Alexis however got a smirk on her face as she pressed a button on her Duel Disk. "Not so fast, Jaden! I activate my facedown, Double Passé!" Jaden was shocked as he saw Sparkman's blast fly past Etoile Cyber and hit Alexis directly.

Alexis: 2400

Jaden was wondering why she did this, but got worried as he saw Alexis' smirk get bigger. "Now for the fun part! My Etoile Cyber can attack you directly."

Etoile Cyber began dashing towards him. "Oh, and when she attacks you directly, she gains an extra 500 attack points." (ATK: 1200-1700)

Jaden gulped as he saw her attack grow and kicked him in the chest, causing him to take a step back.

Jaden: 2300

"So, are you impressed?" Alexis asked with a smirk.

"Impressed?" He repeated. "I think I'm in love! That was a sweet move, sacrificing some of your own life points to take mine. You really are something else, Alexis." Jaden praised with a big smile on his face.

"Are you flirting in the middle of a duel?" Erina whispered accusingly.

"What?! No!" He whispered back, denying all too quickly for her liking.

Alexis was shocked at his words, a blush appearing on her face. No one had given her a compliment like that before. Jaden really was everything her brother described, kind, caring, always smiling and very, very interesting… plus he was kind of cute. Alexis blinked in shock over her own thoughts. Did she really just think that last one?

"You're sweet. It's too bad I have to crush you." She said with a smirk.

That only made Jaden smile. "We'll see about that, Alexis. I end my turn."

Alexis drew her card, she smiled as she saw what she got. "I've seen what you can do with Fusions, Jaden. Now, let me show you what I can do!" Jaden got very excited when he heard that and couldn't wait to see what she brought out.

Alexis took two cards from her hand. "I play Polymerization and fuse together Etoile Cyber with Cyber Skater in my hand, in order to summon Cyber Blader!"

The two monsters jumped into a vortex and then out of it came out a female blade skater wearing a skintight purple and red suit, long blue hair and a red visor over her eyes. (ATK: 2100/ DEF: 800)

Alexis then pointed at Sparkman. "Now I attack your Sparkman with Skate Blade Slash!" Cyber Blader dashed towards Sparkman and spin kicked him, slicing him in two.

Jaden: 1800

"I end my turn with one facedown, it's your move Jaden." Alexis said as she inserted a card in her Duel Disk.

Jaden drew his next card and smirked. "Now it's my turn!" He held up three cards. "I fuse my Elemental Heroes Avian and Burstinatrix to summon Elemental Hero Flame Wingman!"

The dragon armed hero appeared. (ATK: 2100/ DEF: 1200)

Alexis smirked. "So, now we both have a fusion monster, but they are the same attack points. What will you do now?"

Jaden took a card from his hand. "I'll just give him a boost! I activate the spell card, H - Heated Heart! This spell gives my Wingman 500 extra attack points, plus piercing damage."

Flame Wingman got covered in a flaming aura as his power rose. (ATK: 2100-2600)

"Now let's see if your Cyber Blader can dance with my Wingman! Go, Infernal Scorcher!" Flame Wingman's right arm opened and out came a giant fireball going straight towards Cyber Blader.

Alexis responded quickly. "I activate my facedown, Half Counter! My Cyber Blader gains half the original attack of your Wingman!"

Jaden's eyes widened as Alexis' monster's attack rose. (ATK: 2100-3150)

Sadly for Alexis, Jaden had a response ready. "I activate the spell card, Concentrating Current! With this, my Wingman's defense gets added to his attack until the end of this turn!"

Alexis' eyes widened as Flame Wingman roared as his power increased even further. (ATK: 2600-3800)

The fireball connected and caused a massive explosion that rocked the boats.

Alexis: 1750

But much to Jaden's shock, Cyber Blader was still standing. "But, how?" He asked.

Alexis smirked. "One of Cyber Blader's effects. Since you control only one monster, she can't be destroyed by battle."

Jaden smiled. "Pretty sweet effect. I can't wait to see what else she has in store." He put one card facedown. "I end my turn with a facedown."

And with Jaden's turn over, both monsters' attack points returned to normal. (ATK: 3800-2100) (ATK: 3150-2100)

"My turn!" Alexis drew her card. She took a card and placed it on her Duel Disk. "I summon Cyber Tutu in attack mode!"

A girl with pink hair and a red and blue ballerina dress and skirt appeared. (ATK: 1000/ DEF: 800)

Alexis grabbed another card. "I activate Fusion Weapon and equip it on my Blader, giving her 1500 extra attack!"

Jaden looked nervously at Cyber Blader as her hand got morphed into some kind of two pronged cybernetic weapon. (ATK: 2100-3600)

"Now Cyber Tutu, attack him directly!" Alexis commanded and Jaden went wide-eyed with shock as Cyber Tutu jumped to hit him.

Jaden: 800

Jaden looked at Alexis after he recovered from his surprise. "Let me take a guess, Cyber Tutu can attack me because I either have a monster or because he has more attack than her."

Alexis smiled. "That's right, if one of your monsters doesn't have less or equal attack as her she can attack you directly."

"Now, Cyber Blader! Attack Flame Wingman and end this!" Cyber Blader charged the cybernetic weapon on her hand.

Jaden flipped over his facedown. "I activate Defense Draw! The damage I'd take is reduced to zero and I draw a card!" Jaden drew his card as Cyber Blader shot a blast of yellow energy that destroyed his Wingman.

"You're barely hanging, Jaden." Alexis chuckled. "I end my turn."

"As long as I have cards in my deck and life points, I'm still in this, Alexis." Jaden said. "I draw!"

He held up a card. "I activate The Warrior Returning Alive! With it I can bring Sparkman back to my hand." Jaden added his monster back to his hand and immediately played it. "And now I bring him back to the field!"

Sparkman appeared once again on the field. (ATK: 1600/ DEF: 1400)

He slipped a card into his Disk. "I place a facedown card. Then, Sparkman will attack your Cyber Tutu! Static Shockwave!"

The spark hero threw a ball of crackling electricity at the small ballerina and destroyed her.

Alexis: 1150

"I draw!" Alexis drew her card and looked at the field. She was contemplating if she should risk it. She looked at her hand, all she had was Angel Wings and another Etoile Cyber.

"I summon my second Etoile Cyber in defense mode!" The ribbon dancer appeared on the field, kneeling with her arms crossed. (ATK: 1200/ DEF: 1600)

She sighed. "With that I end my turn."

Mindy and Jasmine looked confused. "But why?" Jasmine asked. "You could have won the duel right now and shown him where he belongs!"

Alexis turned her head and glared at them, they got quiet. "He has a facedown and I don't trust what it is. So I'll play safe until I can deal with it."

Jaden laughed lightly, getting the girls attention. "I have to say Alexis, I didn't expect to have such a fun duel." She smiled at him as he continued. "My next draw will decide who wins." He stated as he placed two fingers on his deck.

'Come on, deck, don't fail me now.' He dramatically drew his card to the side of him and flipped it to look at it, gaining a smirk as he saw it.

'Uncle Yugi's theatrical dramatics have really rubbed off on you.' Erina thought, causing her to giggle slightly.

"I play Pot of Greed and draw two cards!" Jaden drew his extra cards and smirked. "Looks like I win!" He proclaimed, causing Alexis to gasp.

"I summon Elemental HERO Stratos!" The razor-winged hero appeared on the field. (ATK: 1800/ DEF: 300)

"And I use his effect and add Clayman to my hand." Jaden said as he added him to his hand.

Cyber Blader's attack suddenly doubled, causing Jaden to raise an eyebrow. (ATK: 3600-7200)

Alexis chuckled a little. "When you have two monsters on the field her attack doubles. Let's see you take her down now." But she gasped in shock as the reaction he got was not the one she expected. Jaden only smirked, not bothered at all.

Jaden held up a spell card. "I'll use Fusion Recovery, with this, I add back to my hand a Polymerization and a monster I used for a fusion summon." Jaden added his Poly and Burstinatrix.

"Next, I'll use Polymerization! With it, I fuse Elemental HERO Sparkman with Elemental HERO Clayman!" Jaiden raised his hand to the sky as Sparkman disappeared from the field. "Come out, Elemental HERO Thunder Giant!"

A dark thunder cloud formed above the field and a lightning strike came down on Jaden's field, shaking the boats. From the lightning bolt appeared a giant man clad in gold armor, electricity coursing through his entire body. (ATK: 2400/ DEF: 1500)

"Um… hate to say this, Jaden, but he's weaker than my Cyber Blader."

Jaden smirked. "I know that, but his effect more than makes up for it. You see, I can discard a card from my hand and Thunder Giant can destroy a monster with original attack less than his own."

Alexis' eyes widened as she took a step back. "Wait, original attack?"

"Yup." Jaden discarded Burstinatrix. "Thunder Giant! Go, Static Blast!"

Thunder Giant charged forward and stopped in front of Cyber Blader. He lifted his hand over her and a barrage of lightning came down, blowing her to pixels.

"Stratos! Attack her Etoile Cyber!" Stratos charged and delivered a blow on the ribbon dancer, destroying her.

"And now for Thunder Giant!" Jaden grinned. "Voltic Thunder!"

The towering giant formed a ball of lighting in his hand and threw it at Alexis, bringing her life points down to zero.

Alexis: 0

Jaden then pointed two fingers at Alexis and with a smile said. "And that's game! And a really good one, Alexis."

Mindy and Jasmine looked at Jaden in disbelief. A Slifer just defeated Alexis. But she didn't seem bothered in the slightest, Alexis just smiled at him.

They got off the boats and gathered together. Alexis smiled at Jaden. "A deal's a deal. We'll keep quiet about what happened."

Jaden smiled at her, but was startled as Jasmine snapped at him. "Don't get full of yourself! You only won because of luck!"

"Shut it Jasmine!" Alexis snapped at her.

Jasmine was taken aback by her friend's outburst. "Alexis…"

Alexis continued. "He beat me fair and square, and that's that!"

"It was close" Jaden interrupted them with a smile on his face. "You are a really strong duelist, Lex." He exclaimed with a genuine smile on his face.

"Did you just give me a nickname?" Alexis asked in surprise.

Jaden rubbed the back of his head. "Well yeah, we're friends, right? So if it's okay with you, I will call you that." He finished with a small grin.

Alexis heard her friends growl lightly at him, disliking the idea. She sighed and shot him a smile. "Sure, but only if I call you Jay."

Jaden chuckled. "That's fine by me. I guess Sy and I should get going, it's getting pretty late and we have classes tomorrow. So I guess we'll see you all tomorrow!"

Jaden turned and gave Erina a hug, which she used to whisper in his ear. "I'm soo going to tease you for tonight. Not flirting, my ass!" She pulled away, giving him a mischievous smile. They then parted ways, the boys going back to the Red dorm and the girls towards their dorm.

While they were walking back, Jasmine and Mindy were hanging back to talk without Erina and Alexis hearing them. "So, what do you think of him?" Mindy asked Jasmine in a low voice.

"I think he's too cocky and too friendly with Alexis given which dorm he's in. But, I have to admit, he's a pretty decent duelist." She admitted a bit begrudgingly.

Mindy nodded. "I don't know about that, he just proved that dorm color isn't everything. But a Slifer hanging around her could get frowned upon."

Unknown to them, Alexis had heard them and was looking back at them with an angry glare. She turned her head back forward and saw Erina giving her a knowing look, making her quickly avert her gaze and speed up her walking.

Erina laughed silently and caught up with her. "You weren't going to turn him in even if you won, were you?"

Alexis shook her head and smiled. "No way, it'll be too boring here without him."

"Thought so." Erina giggled. 'Yeah… she might be falling for him.'

And that's another chapter done!

Ah, the duel that ignites the spark. Always liked this one, even in the anime.

Next up is not going to be Jaden vs Chazz, shocking! Erina will have her first duel before that.

I will be diverting from the anime's path here and there. Mainly to flesh out the characters, especially my OC, and to add in fluffy moments that can't be fit normally.

A heads up, there won't really be a schedule for when I upload. Some will take longer or shorter than others. But, I will try not to take too long with updates.

Please review and I'll see y'all next time. :)
