It has been almost two months since Kaien and Artoria started Hogwarts. After the first week of attending their classes, Kaien and Artoria quickly realize that they are ahead way ahead of the Seventh-Year students. Kaien and Artoria would use their newfound free time to do many things. They would explore Hogwarts. Artoria would go tell Kaien stories she remembered in the castle. Some days they would read the various books found in the library. While they were studying in the library, some of the first years that they befriended approached them. They asked them for help with their homework. They decided to help them. In the next few days, all the first years would be in the library, getting assistance from Kaien and Artoria. By next week, many students from the second and third year joined the study group. Kaien and Artoria approached Madam Prince, the librarian, and asked if there was a study room that they could use. She allowed them access to a study room. With that, the Shiba Study Room was born.
Kaien and Artoria would help any student that asks for their help. In return, they have two rules. The first rule, there will be no bullying of any time in the Shiba Study Room. The second rule, any questions, even if it's not related to the current material, could be asked. Many of the Professors noticed their younger student's higher grades. The younger students revealed the existence of the Shiba Study Room. They complimented Kaien and Artoria for their action. Many of the students would eventually call them Kaien-sensei and Artoria-sensei. Every night, Artoria would sit down meditate, connecting with the wards. Due to her establishing Camelot's wards, she was able to access all the wards on Hogwarts. She quickly discovered that the various Headmasters and Headmistresses incorrectly placed the wards. The new wards were built on top of the old ones. Each night Artoria would perform the slow process of detaching the misplaced ward and merge them with the old wards, like how it's supposed to.
Today, October 30th, everyone was standing outside in the cold October evening. The school had all of their students lined up by height and then by their year. Kaien and Artoria were in the far back and to the right. Kaien and Artoria were fine against the evening cold. Kaien noticed that many of the younger students were shivering. He looked over to the older students to that they were layered with warming charms.
"Really? You can't bother to help the younger students." Kaien thought. He cast a mass warming spell on the younger students. The younger students could feel the heat and look to Kaien.
"Thank you, Kaien-sensei." They whispered.
"Look back in the front." Professor McGonagall said. All the students quickly turned to the front.
"Aha! Unless I am very much mistaken, the delegation from Beauxbatons approaches!" Dumbledore said.
"Where?" Many students shouted. They looked in different directions.
"There!" yelled a sixth year, pointing over the forest. Something large was flying towards Hogwarts.
"It appears to be some kind of carriage and it's being pulled by dozen winged horses," Kaien said. Artoria nodded. Soon the large carriage landed. The front door quickly opened as a young boy in pale blue robes jumped out of the carriage and lowered a set of golden steps. A large woman stepped out of the carriage. Dumbledore started to clap. The students followed suit. She walked to Dumbledore. The two exchanged greetings with each other. More students dressed in the same pale blue robes walked out of the carriage.
"Something is coming from the lake," Artoria whispered. A large black wooden boat began to rise from the Lake. The boat docked on the edge of the Black Lake. Slowly people on the ship began to disembark. All of them were dressed in large thick fur coats. The last person was a man wearing similar fur coats. However, his fur coats are of higher quality than the others. The man walked over and greeted the other two Heads. Everyone began to walk inside Hogwarts. Soon all the students were sitting down in the Great Hall. Kaien and Artoria sat with Ravenclaw for the feast. Beauxbatons sat down with Ravenclaw and Durmstrang sat with the Slytherins. Everyone soon sat down, except for Dumbledore.
"Good evening, ladies, gentlemen, ghosts and most importantly guests," Dumbledore began. "I have great pleasure in welcoming you all to Hogwarts. I hope and trust that your stay here will be both comfortable and enjoyable. The tournament will be officially opened at the end of the feast," Dumbledore said. "I now invite you all to eat, drink, and make yourselves at home!" With that, the food appeared on the table. Kaien and Artoria noticed that there was more variety of food. Kaien and Artoria tried some of the foreign dishes.
"Hm…this stew is delicious. Do you know what it is?" Artoria asked.
"It's Bouillabaisse." Someone said. Kaien and Artoria turned to see a familiar girl in blue robes.
"Hello Fleur." Kaien said.
"Kaien," Fleur said. Kaien gently grabbed her hand and kissed her knuckle.
"May I sit here with you two?" She asked.
"Sure," Kaien replied. She sat down on Kaien's right side while Artoria took the left side. Fleur began to scoop some Bouillabaisse on her plate.
"Are you planning to enter the Triwizard Tournament?" Fleur asked.
"No," Kaien replied.
"What about you?" Fleur asked.
"No as well," Artoria answered.
"Oh…how come?"
"It wouldn't sit right with us if we ended up Hogwarts's champion especially since we're only students at Hogwarts for the past two months," Kaien said.
"Oh really?"
"Yes." They continued with some catch-up. Some of the Ravenclaws and Beauxbatons were wondering how they knew each other. Kaien explained that during the Quidditch World Cup Finals, Kaien rescued Fleur from a Death Eater. Soon all the food on the table disappeared. Dumbledore stood up again.
"With everyone fed and ready to go asleep… allow me a few moments to explain some things." Dumbledore started. "You may notice many new faces are sitting with me at the Professor Table." Some of the students nodded their heads. "On my right is Madam Maxime, Headmistress of Beauxbatons." Madam Maxime stood up and she received polite applause. She sat down and Dumbledore resumed. "On my left is Professor Karkaroff, Headmaster of Durmstrang." Professor Karkaroff stood up and also received polite applause. "On the right of Madame Maxime, we have Mr. Bartemius Crouch, Head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation." Mr. Crouch stood up and received polite applause. He quickly sat down. "On Professor Karkaroff's left side we have Mr. Ludo Bagman, Head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports." There was a larger round of applause for Mr. Bagman compared to anyone else. Dumbledore waited for students to calm down before continuing. "All of us have spent the last few months on arranging the tasks for the Triwizard Tournament and we will all judge the three Champions. Now speaking of champions…"
Dumbledore looked at Mr. Filch. He carried a large old wooden chest and carefully placed it on a nearby table. He quickly scurried away. "There will be three tasks throughout the school year. These tasks are designed to test the selected champions in different ways: their magical knowledge, their daring, their intellect and most importantly their ability to cope with the impending danger. The champions will be selected by the Goblet of Fire." Dumbledore pulled out his wand and tapped the casket. The lip slowly opened up. Dumbledore reached inside and pulled out an old wooden cup with blueish white flames on the mouth of the goblet. The casket closed itself and the Goblet of Fire was placed on top. "Anyone who wishes to enter the tournament must submit a piece of parchment with their name and their respective school. You have until tomorrow to submit your names. Due to this, we will draw an age line around the Goblet of Fire; only allow students at the age of seventeen to enter." The audience, mostly the sixth years, didn't accept Dumbledore's latest announcement. Dumbledore waited a few moments before clapping loudly, ending all the commotion. "The last thing I wish to say is a warning. This tournament is not something to consider lightly. Once you are selected as a champion you are bounded by a magical contract to compete. With that good night and good luck." Dumbledore sat back down.
"See you tomorrow," Fleur said.
"See you…though I will be at the Slytherin table tomorrow." He said.
"Oh?"
"We were unable to be sorted to a house, so we decided to sit at a different table every meal," Kaien explained.
"Oh. Ok then." Fleur said. Everyone left the Great Hall. Some students pondered about entering the Tournament. Some pondered ways to trick the Age line. Many wondered what these champions would have to deal with.
Scene Change: Morning
Kaien and Artoria walked to the Entrance Hall to see Fred and George with long white beards.
"So, what did you two do?" Kaien asked.
"We tried to use an Ageing Potion to get across the Age Line," Fred explained. They quickly learned to never use their twin speak with Kaien.
"Hm…" Kaien said. "I assume both of you want to enter the tournament?"
"All three of us." Someone else said.
"He is our friend Lee Jordan. He helped us gather the ingredients for the age potions." George said.
"Hm…" Kaien looked to see many of the students are looking at them. "Well, I have three possible solutions to this problem. Do you three want to help me?" Kaien asked.
"Sure." They answered.
"Lee, how good is your aim?" Kaien asked.
"As in throwing things…good-I guess." Lee answered.
"Good. Crumple your parchment into a ball and throw it into the goblet." Kaien said. Lee crumpled his parchment into a ball. He walked towards the goblet. When he was close enough, he threw it into the goblet. Everyone watched as the parchment ball was devoured by the fire. "Guessed that worked," Kaien said. "Fred."
"Yes Kaien-sensei?" Fred replied.
"Levitate your parchment above the fire," Kaien instructed. Fred took out his wand and levitated his parchment to the fire. Once again, the Goblet of Fire devoured the parchment. "George."
"Y-yes Kaien-sensei?" He replied.
"Hand me your parchment." He handed his parchment with his name on it to Kaien.
"Is there anyone here is above age who has planned or already placed their name in the Goblet?"
"I just did." A girl replied. Kaien could see a dark skin girl standing behind them.
"Angelina," George said.
"Do you want to help us?" Kaien asked.
"Sure." She replied.
"Take this parchment and place it in the goblet."
"Sure." She took George's parchment and placed it in the goblet. Just like before the goblet devoured the parchment.
"Guess you three are in the running," Kaien said. Many students began to clap.
"Kaien-sensei, that was inappropriate," Hermione said. Kaien raised his eyebrow.
"Hello, Hermione. It's not my fault that Dumbledore forgot an important thing."
"What did he forget?" Hermione asked.
"To every problem, there is the most simple solution (1)," Kaien said.
"That's a quote from Agatha Christie," Hermione said.
"Correct," Kaien said as they walked to the Great Hall for breakfast. Kaien and Artoria sat down at the Slytherin table. Most of the Slytherins publicly avoided Kaien and Artoria. However, they knew that privately they have friends or allies in the house.
"May I sit here?" A deep voice asked. Kaien turned to see Victor Krum standing here.
"Go ahead," Kaien said. Victor Krum sat down beside them. "I'm Kaien Shiba."
"I'm Artoria Shiba."
"And I'm Victor Krum," Victor said. He was ready for the standard fan reaction. However, he didn't get that. Instead, Kaien nodded his head and returned to breakfast. Victor was surprised at the lack of reaction. Instead of questioning it, he joined them for breakfast. "I saw what you did earlier." He said. Kaien glanced at him. "That was smart."
"Thank you."
"You would be a very challenging opponent if you were the Hogwarts Champion, Mr. Shiba."
"First off, call me Kaien."
"Very well Kaien. Then call me Victor."
"Well Victor, back to your earlier point. Yes, I would be a very challenging opponent if I were to submit my name." Kaien replied.
"What? You didn't submit your name?"
"I didn't."
"Why?"
"It wouldn't sit right with us if we ended up Hogwarts's champion especially since we're only students at Hogwarts for the past two months," Kaien said.
"I see…" Victor replied.
"Do you have any plans later today?" Kaien asked.
"No. Just reviewing my spells," Victor replied. Kaien smiled.
"Great. Artoria and I were planning on dueling each other again. Do you want to join us?"
"Hm…sure," Victor said. They all stood up. Kaien noticed Fleur was sitting alone at the Ravenclaw Table. He walked to her.
"Morning Fleur."
"Oh. Morning Kaien." She replied.
"Do you have any plans for today?"
"Oh…no. Not really."
"Great. Me, Artoria and Victor are planning to duel each other. Do you want to join?"
"Sure," Fleur replied. Artoria led them to the empty corridor they used to train in.
"So, you ready to fight?" Kaien with a smirk. Victor and Fleur nodded their heads. "So who will go first?"
"I will," Victor said.
"Very well then. Keep in mind this isn't a duel. It's a fight." Kaien warned. Kaien and Victor stood a few feet away from each other Kaien summoned Mysteria in her wand form. Artoria and Fleur stood on the sidelines.
"Three. Two. One…START!" Artoria yelled.
"Sepulcrum Petram [Rock Tomb]," Kaien said. Large boulders began to form above Victor and began to fall.
"Reducto! Reducto!" Krum yelled. A blue spell fired from Krum's wand, shattering the large boulders to smaller rocks.
"Saxa animalibus [Rocks to Animals]," Kaien said. The remaining rocks transformed into stone bears, lions, and gorillas. "Attack him," Kaien ordered. The stone animals roared and charged towards Krum. Krum stood his ground.
"Confringo! Confringo!" Krum yelled. An orange spell fired from Krum's wand towards the stone animals. Upon impact the stone animals exploded; scattering dust and pebbles everywhere. "Depulso," Krum said, banishing all the dust and pebbles around him. Krum looked to see Kaien disappeared. He looked to his left and right.
"Stupefy," Kaien said. With that Krum was unconscious. Kaien pointed his wand at Victor. "Rennervate." Victor soon woke up.
"Good fight," Victor said.
"It was…but it could be better." Kaien said. Victor nodded his head. Kaien turned to Fleur who already got ready. Victor sat by Artoria.
"Three. Two. One…START!" Artoria yelled.
"Diffindo. Expelliarmus. Incendio. Stupefy." Fleur said as she began to rapid-fire spells at Kaien. Kaien dodged her spells by sidestepping them, slowly advancing towards her. Fleur began to take a step back as he continued to advance.
"Ventus tempestas [Wind Storm]," Kaien said. A large tornado appeared and headed towards Fleur.
"Protego Maxima!" Fleur cried out as an invisible barrier appeared around her. The wind storm slammed into Fleur's barrier. She gritted her teeth as she continued to pour her magic into the spell. Soon Ventus Tempestas ended. Fleur lowed her spell. She was starting to get tired and exhausted. She tried to find Kaien.
"Aqua Eructo," Kaien said. Suddenly she was blindsided by a jet of cold water. She turned to see Kaien standing there; whistling while looking away, pretending not to notice the wet girl.
"Grr," Fleur growled, beginning to get angry. She summoned fireballs and threw them at Kaien. Kaien dodged the attack by jumped to the side of the attack. He continued to whistle. Fleur got even more annoyed.
"You're going to get it!" Fleur thought as she began to transform. Her faces transformed into a cruel-beaked bird-like head. Long scaly wings burst from her shoulders. Her mind was filled with rage as she soared towards Kaien. Kaien stood there and continued to whistle as she soared towards him. At the last moment, Kaien finally acted.
"Murum Petram [Rock Wall]." A rock wall appeared in front of Kaien. Fleur's eyes widen as she tried to stop only to crash into the rock wall, knocking her unconscious. Kaien sighed as he lowered the wall. Kaien looked over the unconscious Fleur. She returned to normal. Kaien cast a spell to remove the bruise on her forehead. After that, he gently woke her up. She glared at Kaien.
"Was that necessary?"
"I did warn you this wasn't a duel," Kaien replied. She slapped him on the shoulder. "Anyways are you feeling better?"
"Just my pride." She replied.
"Your pride being damaged is better than losing your life," Kaien replied. Victor and Artoria meet up with them. "Now then… do you two want to get stronger?" Kaien asked. They both nodded. Kaien smirked. Victor and Fleur looked at each other and began to fear what Kaien had for them.
Scene Change: Evening
Kaien, Artoria and two tired students entered the Great Hall. Victor and Fleur walked to their respective tables. Their fellow students asked then what happened. They replied with a simple answer… training. Kaien and Artoria sat next to Harry and Hermione. They all ate the Halloween feast. Many students were staring at The Goblet of Fire, which is now standing in front of Dumbledore's empty chair. Soon the golden plates were cleaned. All the chatter ended when Dumbledore stood up.
"It appears the Goblet of Fire is ready to make its decision," Dumbledore said. "When the champion is called, I would like them to walk up to the staff deck and enter the chamber behind it." Dumbledore pointed at the small door. "From there, they will receive their instructions." He took out his wand extinguished all the candles on the wall, leaving the candles in the carved pumpkins remaining. The bluish-white flame from the Goblet of Fire appeared brighter in the dimmed Great Hall. Suddenly the bluish-white flames turned bright red. A stray flame shot out of the goblet. Everyone watched as the stray flame turned into a piece of parchment. The flames turned back to its bluish-white flames again. Dumbledore caught the piece of parchment.
"The champion for Durmstrang will be Viktor Krum," Dumbledore announced. Everyone applauded as Viktor Krum walked up and entered the chamber. The commotion immediately ended when the bluish-white flames turned red again. Another stray flame shot out of the goblet. Once again everyone watched the stray flame turned into another piece of parchment. The fire turned back to its bluish-white state as Dumbledore grabbed the parchment.
"The champion for Beauxbatons is Fleur Delacour!"
Fleur gracefully stood up and walked towards Dumbledore. Everyone applauded for her selection. When Fleur vanished into the side chamber, there wasn't any noise from anyone. Everyone knew the next and final champion was about to be announced. The Goblet of Fire's flames turned red once more and a stray red flame shot out. The stray flame transformed into a sheet of parchment. Dumbledore grabbed it. He looked at it and chuckled.
"The Hogwarts champion," he called, "is Fredrick Weasley!" Everyone from Gryffindor had jumped to his or her feet, screaming and stamping, and cheering. Fred walked towards Dumbledore. He stopped by Kaien.
"Thanks." He said as he continued to walk to Dumbledore and soon the chamber behind the teacher's table. Dumbledore waited a few moments before he spoke again.
"Excellent. Now that we have our three champions…I hope all of you will support your champion of your-" Dumbledore was interrupted by the Goblet of Fire. The bluish-white flames turned red once again. Everyone stared at the goblet as it shot out another stray flame. That stray flame turned into a fourth piece of parchment. Dumbledore caught the parchment. Dumbledore paused as he stared at the piece of parchment in his hand before reading the name.
"Harry Potter."
Harry stood there shocked at what happened. He was prepared for a normal fourth year. In the background, Professor McGonagall stood up from her seat and was whispering to Dumbledore. Harry turned to Ron and Hermione.
"I didn't put my name in," Harry said blankly. "You know I didn't." Both of them stared just as blankly back. At the top table, Professor Dumbledore had straightened up, nodding to Professor McGonagall.
"Harry Potter!" he called again. "Harry! Up here, if you please!" "Go on," Hermione whispered, giving Harry a slight push. Harry got to his feet, trod on the hem of his robes, and stumbled slightly.
"Come on Harry," Kaien said as he stood up with him. Artoria stood up as well. No one commented about them as they walked towards the chamber behind the teacher's table. Harry opened the door to see everyone standing there watching them. Viktor, Fred, and Fleur were grouped around the fire. They looked strangely impressive, silhouetted against the flames. Krum, hunched up and brooding, was leaning against the mantelpiece, slightly apart from the other two. Fred was standing with his hands behind his back, staring into the fire. Fleur Delacour looked around when Harry walked in and threw back her sheet of long, silvery hair.
"Kaien. Artoria. What's going on?" Fred asked.
"Somehow Harry's name got entered into the Goblet of Fire," Kaien said. Ludo Bagman entered the room. He took Harry by the arm and led him forward.
"Extraordinary!" he muttered. "Extraordinary! Gentlemen. . . lady," he added, approaching the fireside and addressing the other three. "May I introduce - incredible though it may seem - the fourth Triwizard champion?" Everyone stared at Harry. The door behind them opened again, and a large group of people came in: Professor Dumbledore followed closely by Mr. Crouch, Professor Karkaroff, Madame Maxime, and Professor McGonagall. Harry heard the buzzing of the hundreds of students on the other side of the wall before Professor McGonagall closed the door.
"Madame Maxime!" Fleur walked over to her headmistress. "They said this young boy has to participate as well. Is this true?" Madame Maxime ignored Fleur and looked at Dumbledore.
"What is the meaning of his, Dumbledore?" she said imperiously.
"I'd rather like to know that myself, Dumbledore," Professor Karkaroff said. "Two Hogwarts champions? I don't remember anyone telling me the host school is allowed two champions - or have I not read the rules carefully enough?"
"That's impossible. Hogwarts cannot have two champions. It would not be fair." Madam Maxime said.
"We were under the impression that your Age Line would keep out younger contestants, Dumbledore. Otherwise, we would have brought along a wider selection of candidates from our schools."
"If I would interject," Kaien said. All the adults turned to Kaien. "I can argue that you don't need to cross the age line to enter the tournament. Fred and Krum can testify how I easily outsmarted said age line. So, Harry could have entered himself or someone else who wants him dead entered him." Kaien pointed out. Dumbledore nodded his head and looked at Harry.
"Did you put your name into the Goblet of Fire, Harry?" he asked calmly.
"No," said Harry. He was very aware of everybody watching him closely.
"Did you ask an older student to put it into the Goblet of Fire for you?" Professor Dumbledore asked.
"No," said Harry vehemently.
"Ah, but of course he is lying!" cried Madame Maxime.
"Are you even sure he was entered as a student of Hogwarts?" Kaien interjected. Dumbledore looked at the parchment to see no school written on it.
"There isn't a school written on it."
"I believe someone managed to cast a Confundus Charm on the Goblet of Fire into thinking that there was another school in the tournament and Harry was its only student who entered from that fourth school." Kaien theorized. Harry sighed.
"Mr. Crouch… Mr. Bagman," Karkaroff said, "you are our objective judges. Surely you will agree that this is most irregular?" Bagman wiped his face with his handkerchief and looked at Mr. Crouch, who was standing outside the circle of the firelight, his face half-hidden in shadow.
"We must follow the rules, and the rules state clearly that those whose names come out of the Goblet of Fire are bound to compete in the tournament."
"Well, Barty knows the rule book back to front," said Bagman, looked as if both Heads of their School accepts this disadvantage.
"I insist upon resubmitting the names of the rest of my students," Karkaroff said. "You will set up the Goblet of Fire once more, and we will continue adding names until each school has two champions. It's only fair, Dumbledore."
"But Karkaroff, it doesn't work like that," Bagman said. "The Goblet of Fire's just gone out - it won't reignite until the start of the next tournament -"
"- in which Durmstrang will most certainly not be competing!" Karkaroff yelled. "After all our meetings and negotiations and compromises, I little expected something of this nature to occur! I have half a mind to leave now!"
"Empty threat, Karkaroff," growled a voice from near the door. "You can't leave your champion now. He's got to compete. They've all got to compete. Binding magical contract, like Dumbledore, said. Convenient, eh? Moody limped toward the fire.
"Convenient?" said Karkaroff. "I'm afraid I don't understand you, Moody."
"Don't you?" said Moody quietly. "Just as Kaien said. Someone put Potter's name in that goblet knowing he'd have to compete if it came out."
"Someone wished to give Hogwarts two bites at ze apple!" said Madame Maxime.
"If anyone's got a reason to complain, it's Potter," growled Moody, "but. . . funny thing. . . I don't hear him saying a word. . .
"Why should he complain?" burst out Fleur Delacour, stamping her foot. "We have all been hoping to be chosen for weeks and weeks! The honor for our schools! A thousand Galleons in prize money - This is a chance many would die for!"
"Maybe someone's hoping Potter is going to die for it," said Moody, with the merest trace of a growl. An extremely tense silence followed these words.
"Moody, old man. . . what a thing to say!" Mr. Bagman said.
"Alastor!" said Dumbledore warningly. "How this situation arose, we do not know," said Dumbledore, speaking to everyone gathered in the room. "It seems to me, however, that we have no choice but to accept it. Both Fred and Harry have been chosen to compete in the Tournament. This, therefore, will do. . ."
"Ah, but Dumbledore-."
"My dear Madame Maxime, if you have an alternative, I would be delighted to hear it."
"If all the judges allow it, then Harry will not represent Hogwarts and but instead represent Shiba Academy of Mystical Arts," Kaien said. Everyone stood there silently.
"Do you have the authority to over that alternative?" Karkaroff sneered.
"I am the Clan Head of my respective side of the Shiba Clan so I can offer this as an alternative."
"Very well," Karkaroff said.
"Hm. The Japanese boy proposed a good idea." Madame Maxime said. They both turned to Dumbledore.
"Very well," Dumbledore said. "Harry, for this tournament you will no longer be a Hogwarts student. Instead, you will be a student under Shiba Academy of Mystical Arts." Dumbledore said.
"We need to contact the school to send a representative over." Bagman said.
"No need," Kaien interject. "Artoria would be our representative at the judging table," Kaien said.
"Well, shall we crack on, then?" he said, rubbing his hands together and smiling around the room. "Got to give our champions their instructions, haven't we? Barty, want to do the honors?" Mr. Crouch was looking away in the distance, lost in thought.
"Yes," he said, "instructions. The first task . . ." He moved forward into the firelight. "The first task is designed to test your daring," he told Harry, Fred, Fleur, and Viktor, "so we are not going to be telling you what it is. Courage in the face of the unknown is an important quality in a wizard." He said. "The first task will take place on November the twenty-fourth, in front of the other students and the panel of judges. The champions are not permitted to ask for or accept the help of any kind from their teachers to complete the tasks in the tournament. The champions will face the first challenge armed only with their wands. They will receive information about the second task when the first is over. Due to the demanding and time-consuming nature of the tournament, the champions are exempted from end-of-year tests." Mr. Crouch turned to look at Dumbledore. "I think that's all, is it, Albus?"
"I think so," Dumbledore said.
"I have something to ask," Kaien said. Mr. Crouch turned to Kaien.
"What is it?"
"When can I expect to see the magical agreement."
"Why do you need that?"
"If I'm planning to help Harry survive this tournament, I need to know the limits that I can assist."
"As I said earlier the champions are not permitted to ask for or accept the help of any kind from their teachers to complete the tasks."
"So, is asking the teacher for a pass to the Restricted Section of the Hogwarts Library count as help?" Kaien asked. Mr. Crouch stared at Kaien for a few moments.
"You will get a copy of the contract in the morning." He replied. With that, everyone left the chamber. Kaien and Artoria followed Harry and Fred.
"Fred, can you leave us a moment," Harry asked.
"Sure," Fred said as he walked ahead.
"W-why did you help me there?" Harry asked.
"Because we believed that you didn't do it."
"And you two didn't do this as a trap," Harry said. Kaien sighed.
"Are you scared that we would betray you or purposely hurt you." Harry didn't reply but Kaien could see it in his eyes. Kaien raised his wand.
"I swear on my life, my magic and my soul… for the duration of this tournament or when Harry relieves me of my duty, be the master and mentor that he needs. To teach him what I know, to ensure his survival of the tournament and never betray his trust. So mote it be." Kaien glowed golden as his magic flowed to Harry. Artoria raised her wand.
"I swear on my life, my magic and my soul… for the duration of this tournament or when Harry relieves me of my duty, to teach him what I know, to ensure his survival of the tournament and never betray his trust. So mote it be." Artoria glowed golden as her magic flowed to Harry.
"I feel I need to do something," Harry said.
"Well, you could say your oath as an apprentice," Kaien said.
"What about the wording."
"Think about the words to express your intent. Your magic will follow that intention." Kaien said. Harry nodded as he drew his wand.
"I, Harry James Potter, swear on my life and magic until the end of the tournament or when I no longer need them, to be the apprentice for my master and mentor. To learn all that they will teach me, follow all of their instructions and try my best to survive in this tournament. So mote it be." Harry began to glow silver and his magic flowed to Kaien and Artoria. Their unified magic flashed together, signifying magic accepting their oath, before disappearing.
"I see…" Harry said as they walked towards The Fat Lady. Harry quickly told the password and the portrait opened up. Immediately they were bombarded by loud noises. Arms reached out, ready to grab Harry. Kaien quickly stood in front of Harry. The arms stopped and moved back.
"Move," Kaien commanded. The nearby students scurried away as they entered. The music stopped as they stared at them. "Harry go grab your stuff." Harry nodded as he went up the stairs.
"Pass this to the other students. Harry is forced into this tournament. He did not willingly join the tournament. To make it fair, Harry will not represent Hogwarts. He will be instead representing the Shiba Academy of Mystical Arts. Fred Weasley can attest to this." Kaien said. Before anyone could say anything, Harry returned with his trunk. His face was more depressed than before. Harry and Artoria began to leave when he spotted Hermione running towards them. "Go on ahead," Kaien whispered. Artoria nodded her head and lead Harry away. Kaien turned to Hermione.
"Kaien. Where is Harry going?"
"He is going to a private room for right now."
"I-see," Hermione said. "Can-I talk to him?" Kaien stared at Hermione for a few seconds before turning away.
"Follow me," Kaien said. Hermione followed behind Kaien. Hermione quickly told him what Ron told Harry when he went up to grab his belonging. Ron was jealous of the fact that Harry was in the tournament and accused Harry of being a cheater. They soon arrived at the Black Knight portrait. "Knight of Honor," Kaien said. The Black Knight nodded its head before it opened up.
"Hermione," Harry yelled as Hermione rushed in and hugged him. Kaien looked to see another room appeared.
"It appears Hogwarts decided that Hermione needs to stay here instead of going back to her room," Kaien said. Hermione looked to see one of the rooms already had her belongings there. "Harry will take the other room." Kaien pointed at the empty room. "If you two need anything we'll be in the far room." Harry and Hermione looked to see the only room with a closed door. Kaien walked over to the room.
"Make sure you two lovebirds don't stay up too late." Harry and Hermione blushed and looked away. "But seriously, we have a big day tomorrow," Artoria warned as followed Kaien to their room and closed the door behind her.
"Hermione. Why did you follow me?"
"Because. I knew that you needed all the support you can get…especially with what happened with Ron." Hermione said.
"Thank you, Hermione," Harry said as he hugged her. Hermione hugged him back. "Thank you for being there for me and… I'm sorry."
"You're sorry? For what?"
"For being mad at you about the Firebolt and making you choose me over Ron."
"Harry. I got that. I thought it over and I shouldn't have gone behind your back. I should have explained it better." Hermione said. "As for Ronald…I only hung out with him because of you."
"Me?"
"Yes, you. I want to be friends with you. Ronald was an add on." Hermione said.
"I see…" Harry said.
"What do you see me as?"
"I…see you as my best friend," Harry answered.
"J-just your best friend?" Hermione asked with a slight blush.
"No...I've."
"Come on Harry. Where is that Gryffindor courage." Harry thought.
"Had feelings for you," Harry admitted. Hermione's eyes widen.
"You do?" Hermione replied. She quickly hugged him.
"Hermione?"
"I do too." She admitted. The two stayed there hugging it out. They soon let go.
"We should go to bed," Harry said while blushing.
"We should," Hermione replied.
"Good night Hermione."
"Good night Harry." They both went to their respective rooms, got ready for bed and went to sleep. Kaien and Artoria cracked a small smile.
Scene Change: Next Morning
Harry was fast asleep. He opened his eyes and immediately noticed that he wasn't in his dorm room. Harry quickly remembered what happened last night.
"Last night wasn't a dream. I was selected as the fourth champion for the tournament." Harry put on his glasses used the bathroom. He grabbed his robes and noticed that none of them have the Hogwarts cresson them. "I had to change schools as another result," Harry remembered. After putting on his robes, he walked out of the room.
"Those bloody idiots!" Hermione screamed out.
"Wha-what's going on?" Harry asked. Suddenly Hermione hugged him again.
"Good morning Harry," Kaien said. He was sitting down at a table. On the table was a stack of parchment and a tightly bound folder.
"What made Hermione curse?" Harry asked.
"We just received a copy of the magical contract about the Tournament and were reading it. We founded a clause that could have gotten you out of the tournament."
"What!?" Harry yelled.
"The clause states that in the first hour after the name selection, all the judges could reject a champion if the selected champion did not submit their name into the tournament or is physical or magically capable of performing the task at hand."
"And I satisfy that clause."
"Correct," Kaien said.
"The curious thing is that the portion that Mr. Crouch mentioned about champions receiving any help isn't mentioned at all," Hermione added.
"Really?" Harry asked.
"The contract mentions that Champions cannot ask for help in the actual challenges itself."
"So you two could help me and we don't need to worry about breaking the contract," Harry said.
"Exactly.
"Do both of you want to go down to the Great Hall or have breakfast here?" Kaien asked.
"Um…" Harry mumbled.
"I think staying here is a good idea," Hermione said. Kaien nodded his head.
"Can I get a house-elf here," Kaien said. Soon a house-elf appeared. A house-elf Harry remembered.
"Dobby?" Harry said.
"Harry Potter Sir!" Dobby said. Kaien smiled.
"I guess your name is Dobby." Dobby turned to Kaien.
"Yes. Dobby's name is Dobby? How can Dobby help Harry Potter's Master?"
"Master?" Hermione questioned.
"Can you get us some breakfast please," Kaien said.
"Right away," Dobby said as he disappeared.
"What did Dobby mean by master?"
"We performed a master and apprentice kind of bond because Harry didn't trust my intentions towards him," Kaien said.
"I see…" A few moments later the table was filled with food. Artoria soon walked out of her room and sat down. She quickly began to devour the food. Harry and Hermione watched as Artoria ate. She ate as much as Ron did. Unlike Ron, she was able to maintain her table manners. Harry and Kaien joined in to eat. Hermione didn't.
"What's wrong?" Kaien asked.
"I'm not going to eat food made from slave labor," Hermione said. Kaien looked at Harry for an explanation.
"Dobby was the first house elf either of us met. His previous family was very abusive. When Hermione discovered that the kitchen is managed by house-elves who doesn't get paid or health benefits…she compared it to slavery." Kaien looked at Hermione.
"Hermione. Are you a house-elf?"
"What? No?"
"Have you read about house-elves."
"No," Hermione replied.
"Have you ever asked any house-elves why they have a bond like that?"
"No."
"Well, time to change that," Kaien said. "Can I get a bonded House Elf here please." Kaien said. Another house-elf appeared. This house elf appears similar to Dobby. "Hello. May I know your name?"
"Woody." He replied.
"Hello, Woody. Can you explain why house-elves are bonded to a family."
"Woody needs magic from family to live," Woody replied.
"You get this magic from the bond with the family."
"Yes."
"What about free elves?" Hermione asked.
"Free elves can get a little magic from places like Hogwarts; just enough to live and do a few spells," Woody explained.
"Thank you, Woody, and let the other House Elves know their food is delicious," Kaien said. With that, Woody disappeared. Hermione sighed as she began to eat. "Look, Hermione. House Elves should have rights but before you try and shake what has been established to look into why it was done."
"Ok," Hermione said. Soon breakfast was done. "Kaien."
"Yes, Hermione?"
"I wish to join Harry at your school." She said. Kaien stared at Hermione for a few minutes.
"Why?" Kaien asked.
"I wish to stay with Harry." Kaien looked at them.
"They remind me of Orihime, Uryū and Chad." Kaien thought.
"I would allow it…but we must speak with Professor McGonagall and your parents." Kaien said.
"Very well then," Hermione said. Kaien grabbed the folder and put it in a handbag. They want to Professor McGonagall's office. Kaien knocked on the door. Professor McGonagall opened the door; seeing Kaien, Artoira, Harry, and Hermione standing there. Professor McGonagall sighed.
"Let me guess. Ms. Granger wishes to join Mr. Potter at your school as soon as she found out about Mr. Potter's sudden transfer."
"Indeed," Kaien replied. Professor McGonagall pulled out a parchment and signed it. She handed the parchment to Kaien.
"To make the transfer formal, Ms. Granger will need her parents to sign the form." Kaien nodded his head.
"Will the transfer be permanent?" Hermione asked. Professor McGonagall turned to Hermione.
"The transfer will only last the school year. Unlike Mr. Potter, I recommend you take the end of the year exam." Hermione nodded her head.
"Will I receive a list of topics Hermione will need to know for her exams?"
"You will receive that later today." Kaien nodded his head and left her office.
"Um…where are we going?" Hermione asked.
"To grab your medical file from Madam Pomfrey."
"Why?" Hermione asked.
"I will have my students medically examined by a third party before I start to teach you," Kaien said.
"But why grab the old medical file?"
"So, I can compare notes," Kaien said. He told Harry and Hermione to stay outside as he went to the Medical Wing. Ten minutes later, Kaien walked out of the Medical Wing with a folder in his hand. They soon walked out of Hogwarts.
"Um… where are we going?" Hermione asked.
"To Gringotts." Kaien said.
"Why?" Hermione asked.
"The goblin will perform an extensive medical evaluation on both of you." As they were walking, Kaien concurred an old hat and placed it on Harry's head, hiding his hair and scar from view. They soon arrived at Hogsmeade. They entered The Three Broomsticks and used the floo to get to the Leaky Cauldron. They quickly entered Diagon Alley and walked to Gringotts Bank. Upon walking to the bank, the nearby goblins acknowledge their presents with a nod. Harry and Hermione were surprised at their action. They never remembered hearing about a goblin bowing to any wizard. Soon a goblin teller walked to them.
"We were expecting you. Follow me." The teller said. They walked down a few hallways.
"Allow me to do all the talking," Kaien whispered. His apprentices nodded their heads. They soon arrived in a room with a bed.
"Good morning. I am Healer Bloodfallen." The goblin said.
"Good morning, Healer Bloodfallen."
"Is he my patient?"
"He is," Kaien replied.
"What about her?" Healer Bloodfallen asked; pointing at Hermione.
"She is a new patient," Kaien replied. Healer Bloodfallen stared at Kaien for a few moments before she summoned another Goblin.
"I am Healer Steelbone." Healer Steelbone said. Another bed was brought in.
"Take off your robes and put this on." Healer Bloodfallen said as she handed them a medical gown for each of them. A curtain appeared, separating Harry and Hermione. Healer Bloodfallen and Healer Steelbone walked out of the room. Harry and Hermione quickly changed. They returned with four other goblins.
"Lay down on the bed." Healer Steelbone instructed. Harry and Hermione followed Healer Steelbone's instruction. Healer Bloodfallen and Healer Steelbone pulled out a short stick. It began to glow yellow.
"Healer Bloodfallen what is that stick for?" Kaien asked.
"This stick allows us to scan the body of the patient." She explained. "The information will be transmitted to these sheets of paper."
"Just like a CT scan," Kaien said. Healer Bloodfallen stopped for a moment and looked at Kaien.
"You have nonmagical medical experience?"
"I do," Kaien replied.
"Good. That is what these sticks replicate." She replied as she got back to work. As she was performing her medical scan Kaien and Artoria heard Healer Bloodfallen swear in the goblin tongue. She soon ordered her two assistance to retrieve something. They both nodded and quickly ran off.
"Um…what happened?" Harry asked.
"According to our medical scan, most of your bones in your body has been fractured and not correctly healed, you are severely malnourished, your blood is extremely toxic for an unknown reason, you have much of your magic blocked and that dark magic in your scar needs to go." Kaien and Artoria were shocked at how extensive the damage to Harry's body was.
"This is Harry's medical records from his time at Hogwarts," Kaien said as he pulled it out of his bag and handed it over to Healer Bloodfallen.
"I will use this to compare my notes." Healer Bloodfallen replied. The two goblins returned; both pushing carts of different medical tools. Harry recognized a golden bottle with the image of bones on it. Harry groaned.
"You recognize something Mister Potter?" Healer Bloodfallen asked.
"Skele-Gro. I had to drink some when Lockhart banished all the bones in my right arm." Harry explained.
"That would explain the inconsistent damage to your skeletal system." Healer Bloodfallen said. "We are going to magically break your bones and allow them to heal correctly."
"I see…"
"How long with this take?" Kaien asked.
"We can't be sure. This treatment depends on the strength of the wizard's magic. Due to Mr. Potter's magic being blocked and the dark magic in his forehead, we can't make a valid determination.
"How long will it take to remove both of them?" Harry asked. Healer Bloodfallen looked at Harry.
"I can't say exactly. We need more time to analyze them."
"I see…" Harry said. Kaien walked over to Healer Steelbone.
"How is Hermione?"
"She is perfectly fine."
"I see…" Kaien said. He turned to Healer Bloodfallen. "Healer Bloodfallen. Inform King Nagnok that I wish to see him." Kaien said.
"Very well." Healer Bloodfallen said as she tapped a rune. A few seconds later a goblin guard entered.
"Yes, Healer Bloodfallen?" The goblin guard asked.
"Please escort this man to King Nagnok." Healer Bloodfallen said.
"Very well." The goblin guard said. Kaien turned to Artoria.
"Don't worry. We'll watch over him." Artoria replied. Hermione nodded her head. Kaien followed the goblin. They soon arrived at King Nagnok's office.
"May your enemies know your wrath." King Nagnok said.
"May your vaults continue to collect more riches," Kaien replied.
"Why have you requested to see me Kaien?"
"It's about my new apprentice."
"Ah yes… Mr. Potter." King Nagnok said.
"I was curious about his lack of finance." King Nagnok chuckled before beginning to laugh. Kaien waited for King Nagnok to calm down.
"It has been a while since I had a good laugh." King Nagnok noticed Kaien emotionless stare. "You're serious right now." Kaien nodded his head. "The Potter Estate is one of the oldest and one of our wealthiest clients."
"And it appears that Harry doesn't know that."
"Preposterous. According to the reports from the Potter Account Manager, Mr. Potter has informed the Account Manager that he does not wish to deal with his account right now."
"And yet we have Harry Potter, who appears to be ignorant of the magical world, dressed in rags, currently being worked on by Healer Bloodfallen."
"For what?"
"Countless incorrectly healed bones, malnutrition, his magic being bound and unknown dark magic in his scar," Kaien said.
"You suspect treachery?" King Nagnok asked.
"I do," Kaien said. King Nagnok pressed a rune on his desk.
"₲: Get me, Account Manager, Griphook here now. : ₲" King Nagnok said. He released the rune. Kaien and King Nagnok waited a few minutes. They soon heard a knock on the door. "Enter." He commanded. The opened and another goblin entered the room. He was dressed in the standard uniform of an Account Manager.
"Account Manager Griphook reporting as ordered," Griphook said.
"Account Manager Griphook, have you received any word from Mr. Potter and his account?"
"Oh, I have your Majesty. I just finished reading a letter from him." Kaien remained emotionless as King Nagnok continued.
"Oh? What did he write?"
"Your Majesty, he once again wrote that he has no interest in his account at Gringotts and once again request us to stop sending him letters about it."
"Do you have that letter with you?" King Nagnok asked. They could see the change in Griphook.
"U-unfortunately, your Majesty, I do not have that letter with me right now."
"When did that letter delivered to you?"
"About an hour ago your Majesty," Griphook replied. Kaien stared at King Nagnok with a smirk.
"GUARDS!" King Nagnok yelled. The office doors slammed open as a few goblin guards rushed in.
"Yes, your Majesty?"
"Detain Griphook and I need Account Auditor Ironblood and his auditors here right now." King Nagnok ordered. Before Griphook could move, the three of the goblin guards detained Griphook. While the fourth Goblin Guard left.
"What is the meaning of this!?" Griphook yelled.
"Griphook." King Nagnok said. "How dare you lie to me!"
"W-what? I did not lie to you."
"Oh you did and you continue to lie to me." King Nagnok said.
"Allow me to explain." Kaien jumped in. King Nagnok nodded his head. "As of yesterday evening, Harry was under my care. With that in mind, he never received or sent out a letter this morning." Griphook turned to King Nagnok.
"Your Majesty. This unknown human dares to think he knows what's going on with the Potter estate."
"Foolish goblin. I am the current master of Harry James Potter. His affairs are now my affairs. And if need be, I can ask him to come down here. He is currently here in Gringotts under the care of Healer Bloodfallen." Kaien said. Griphook's eyes widen. The fourth Goblin Guard returned with more goblins. Besides the fourth Goblin Guard was another goblin dressed in a different business suit. He had a monocle on his eye.
"You summoned me, your Majesty." The goblin said with a bow. All the other goblins behind him bowed afterward.
"Account Auditor Ironblood." King Nagnok said. Everyone stood up. "I need you and your team to perform a full audit on the Potter Account ever since former Account Manager Griphook took control of it."
"As your Majesty ordered." Account Auditor Ironblood replied with a bow. They all left King Nagnok's office.
"Take this goblin to the cells." The goblin grabbed Griphook and took him away.
"So…what will happen now?" Kaien asked.
"Account Auditor Ironblood and his team will perform an audit on the account to see what he did." King Nagnok said. There was a knock on the door. "Enter." The door opened to reveal Healer Bloodfallen.
"Mr. Shiba, your Majesty, I need both of you right now." They followed Healer Bloodfallen to the medical room. Kaien could see Hermione was dressed back in her school robes and was sitting on the side.
"Your Majesty." Healer Steelbone said. All the goblins bowed at King Nagnok. Hermione quickly followed. Artoria didn't bow her head.
"Healer Steelbone and Healer Bloodfallen…what did you need us here for?" King Nagnok said.
"Your Majesty, we discovered that Mr. Potter's scar contains a Horcrux." Healer Bloodfallen said. King Nagnok growled.
"What is a Horcrux?" Hermione asked. The goblins turned to Hermione. She immediately got embarrassed and looked away.
"It's all right. We would be shocked if you knew what one of those cursed things were." Healer Steelbone replied.
"Horcrux is an object a Dark wizard or witch created to hide a fragment of his or her soul to attain immortality." King Nagnok said.
"So, I have a part of Voldemort's soul in my body!?" Harry yelled.
"Indeed." King Nagnok said.
"How will we get it out of me?" Harry asked.
"Normally we would destroy the object in question…" King Nagnok said. Artoria glared at King Nagnok for even daring to suggest that. Kaien sighed.
"Let me try something," Kaien said as he summoned a familiar pair of black gloves and walked over to Harry. Kaien closed his eyes and focused on Harry's soul. He could feel Harry's soul in his body. Kaien noticed a fragmented soul near his forehead. The fragment appeared to be trapped there. "Found you," Kaien whispered. Kaien placed his finger on Harry's scar. "Keep your head straight." Kaien warned before he pushed his finger. They watched as his finger phased through Harry's head. His finger dislodged the soul fragment from Harry's body. The soul fragment appears male with bone-white skin and the sclera of his eyes took on a perpetually blood-shot appearance.
"Thank you for freeing me!" The soul fragment yelled. Before the soul fragment could escape, Kaien snapped his fingers. Suddenly six thin yellow wide beams of light slammed into the soul fragment's midsection. "WHAT!" He struggled to be freed.
"There is no point in trying to break free," Kaien said.
"Fragmented soul of Tom Marvolo Riddle… reveal me the location of the remaining Horcruxes."
"NEVER!" He yelled. Kaien sighed. The black gloves disappeared. Kaien raised his right pointer finger. A small black flame appeared. He moved it towards the soul fragment.
"Hm. Do you think a measly fla-." He said. Kaien pointed the finger at him. A small stream of black flame shot itself to his chest. "HAAAAAAHAAAAAAAA!" The soul fragment screamed in pain. "IT BURNS!" The soul fragment screamed in pain and agony. The black flame began to travel downwards. "MAKE IT STOP!" He screamed out.
"Will you cooperate with me?"
"I WILL! I WILL! JUST MAKE IT STOP!" Suddenly the black flame disappeared.
"Now tell me… what are the other Horcruxes and where are they."
"T-the first one is my diary and it's with the Malfoys." Soul fragment Voldemort said. Harry's eyes widen.
"I destroyed one?" Harry blurted out. Everyone looked at him.
"You're going to explain later," Kaien said. Harry nodded. Kaien turned back to the bounded soul fragment. "Where is the second one?"
"The second one is a ring hidden in the Gaunt Shack."
"Where is the Gaunt Shack?"
"In Little Hangleton."
"Third?"
"Salazar Slytherin's Locket is located in a cave by the seaside."
"Where is this cave?" Kaien questioned.
"I don't know where exactly it is, but I can show you." He said. Kaien stared at the soul fragment in the eyes.
"Kaien, is that a good idea?" King Nagnok said. Kaien looked at him. "Rumors is that he is a master in Occlumency and Legilimency."
"Don't worry Nagnok," Kaien said as he looked at the Soul Fragment.
"Legilimens." Kaien thought as he entered the Soul Fragment's mind.
Scene Change: Soul Fragment's mindscape
Kaien opened his eyes to see he was in a chamber of some kind. He spotted large snake statues at the edge of the chamber. In the middle of the chamber was a large statue of a man's head. Kaien noticed something out of the corner of his eye. Kaien jumped to the side. He looked to see a 20-meter (65 ft) snake there. The snake turned its head to Kaien. Its yellow eyes glowed. Kaien could feel his body momentarily freeze up for a second. He quickly realized that this wasn't an ordinary snake but a basilisk. His body quickly responded and countered the basilisk's ability. Kaien summoned Kokugatsu and fired a nameless Getsuga at the basilisk, vaporizing the snake. He heard someone began to slow clap. He looked to see Voldemort standing there.
"Impressive. You must be very powerful to be able to vaporize one of my basilisks." He said. The nearby snake statues began to move. "Too bad you listened to what I said." The snake statues slithered down and stood behind Voldemort. "Too bad you are in my mind… your body will be an excellent host for me." Voldemort said. "Kill him!" The stone snakes shot towards Kaien. Suddenly there was a flash of green reiatsu as Kyōka appeared beside Kaien. She fired Byakurai at the stone snakes. The stone snakes were easily destroyed by the yellow lightning bolts.
"What?" Voldemort said in shock.
"Trust me…you will be more shocked by this," Kyōka said as she summoned her blade and stabbed it into the ground. Her body began to glow green. The green reiatsu flowed down to the ground. Slowly the ground began to glow green as well.
"IMPOSSIBLE!" Voldemort yelled as his entire mindscape glowed green. Voldemort ran towards them. With a flick of her wrist, Voldemort was sent flying to the wall.
"Show us where the cave is," Kyōka commanded. Slowly the chamber transformed into the coastline. Kyōka and Kaien watched as a younger Voldemort walked towards the cave. They witnessed the various spells he cast on the cave. They stood in shock as he filled the cave with inferi. They could hear the cries of pain from their souls trapped in their rotten body by dark magic. He filled the cave with water. He ordered the inferi to attack when the water is disturbed. The only exception was a boat that will rise from the water. In the center of the cave, he created a small island with a little fountain. He placed a golden locket in the fountain and filled it with a potion.
"We should use this opportunity to verify the information he gave us," Kyōka suggested.
"Good idea," Kaien replied.
"Show us the first Horcrux," Kyōka said. They soon were teleported in a familiar cave. They watched as a young, maybe sixteen-year-old, Voldemort stared down at a young girl. She was naked and laid on her back. Her arms and legs were bounded by ropes and were spread apart. She was crying and begged him to free her. He ignored her as he began to use a knife and began to carve runes on her body. The young girl cried in pain and struggled against him. Soon her body was covered in black runes. The young girl could no longer scream in pain and agony. The young man lodged the knife into her chest. He pointed his wand at the girl.
"Avada Kedavra." He said. A green light fired from his wand and hit the girl. They watched as the young girl's soul exploded.
"It looks like the spell forces the soul to commit Soul Suicide," Kyōka said.
"Indeed," Kaien said. They watched as the black runes began to glow. The black runes absorbed the remnants of the soul and sent the energy to the knife. The black runes faded away. They're eyes widen when they realized what was created.
"He…he created an artificial Asauchi," Kyōka said. The young man grabbed the knife with his right hand. He held a small black book with his left hand. He took the knife and stabbed himself in the chest. He pulled the knife out. They watched as his soul began to leak out of his body. He stabbed the knife into the book. The leaking soul flowed into the black book.
"Show us where is the first Horcrux is at," Kyōka commanded. The scene soon changed to see a much older Voldemort sitting on a throne. He was surrounded by his followers. One of them was Lucius Malfoy. Voldemort handed the black book to Lucius Malfoy.
"Keep this safe for me, Lucius."
"Yes, my lord," Lucius replied as he received the book. He carefully stowed it away in his robes.
"Show us the second Horcrux." The scene changed again. They appeared in an old wooden shack. They watched Voldemort, as a young adult, performed the same ritual on an older man. This time he stabbed a ring with the knife. After that, he placed the ring in a box and placed it in a floor panel in a shack. He placed many different spells on the shack to protect it.
"We know the third one already. Let's see if he made another one." Kaien suggested. Kyōka nodded.
"Show us the fourth Horcrux." The scene changed once again. They watched as Voldemort, maybe in his early thirties, once again performed the ritual with a young woman. This time he stabbed a cup with the letter H on it. The scene quickly changed to see the same older Voldemort, sitting on his throne. In front of him was a young woman.
"Keep this cup safe Bellatrix."
"Yes, my lord." She said as she received the cup from him. She held it carefully. "I will put it in my vault my lord."
"She said vault…does she mean in Gringotts?" Kaien asked.
"Possible. Many wizards and witches believe Gringotts to be a safe place for their belongings." Kyōka replied.
"I'll ask Nagnok about it later. Let's continue searching through his memories." Kaien said.
"Show us the fifth Horcrux," Kyōka said. The scene changed once again. This time they were in a forest. They witnessed an adult Voldemort kill a young frail man. He stabbed the knife into a beautiful silver diadem. The scene changed to reveal the same adult Voldemort. He in Hogwarts walking up a set of stairs. He walked through a bare corridor, with only a painting of a wizard trying to teach Ogres how to dance.
"The training corridor?" Kaien thought. He remembered that was the direction to the training corridor.
"I need a place to hide this." The adult Voldemort thought as he walked around the bare corridor. Soon a door appeared. The adult Voldemort entered the room. The room was filled with all kinds of stuff. The adult Voldemort walked through the room. He founded an abandon bust in the room. He gently placed the diadem on the bust. He placed a compulsion on the bust, making anyone in the vicinity have a sudden desire to place the diadem on their forehead.
"Show us the sixth Horcrux," Kyōka said. The scene didn't change. "It appears the diadem was the last Horcrux he intentionally made."
"But how did he end up in Harry?" Kaien asked.
"Hm…Final moments of Harry's parents." Kyōka said. The scene changed again. They watched to see Voldemort wrapped in black robes walked to a house. They stood there and witnessed the death of Harry's parents. They saw Voldemort standing over baby Harry.
"Goodbye prophecy." He said as he pointed his wand at the baby. "Avada Kedavra." He said. The green spell shot out of his wand towards the baby. Suddenly a red barrier appeared around the baby. The red barrier reflected the green spell. Voldemort stood there in shock as his spell hit him. "Gah!" He screamed as his soul was torn from his own body. His soul shuddered as his Horcruxes kept his soul from being destroyed. However, his soul ended up splitting again. The soul fragment flowed the open wound on baby Harry's forehead.
"I think that's everything," Kaien said. Kyōka nodded her head as they returned to the chamber to see Voldemort still stuck to the wall. "What should we do with him?" Kaien asked.
"Hm… I'm going to keep him for a moment." Kyōka said.
"Why?"
"So I could drain him of everything that he knows. After all, he has to be very intelligent to be able to do strike this much fear to Britain. Even now people called still fear his name." Kyōka pointed out. Kaien sighed.
"Just don't decide to take over the country," Kaien said. Kyōka smiled.
"Technically, Artoria could with a few words," Kyōka replied
"So how are we going to take care of the Horcruxes?" Kaien asked.
"Harry said that he destroyed the diary. If that is true, then that's already destroyed one." Kyōka said.
"I need to go retrieve the locket. I would be able to permanently destroy all the inferi and set the trapped souls free." Kaien said.
"We should allow the goblins to deal with the Cup since it would likely be in one of their vaults," Kyōka suggested.
"Agreed. We should also retrieve the diadem when we return to Hogwarts. With a plan established, Kaien left Voldemort's mind.
Scene Change: Gringotts
Kaien opened his eyes and stood up.
"Are…are you ok, Lord Shiba?" Healer Bloodfallen asked. Kaien looked at the healer.
"I'm fine." He replied. "Wait. What's with the added title?"
"King Nagnok has informed us of your status." Healer Steelbone said. Kaien sighed.
"Anyways… what happened in there?" King Nagnok asked.
"What do you mean?" Kaien asked.
"A few minutes after you entered his mind, the spirit began to cry black tears and silently screamed in agony."
"Oh. He tried to attack me. I managed to subdue him and forced his mind to show me his secrets." Kaien replied.
"What did you learn?" King Nagnok asked.
"I discovered that he made more than one Horcrux," Kaien said.
"How many did that abomination make?"
"Based on what we've found, he intentionally made six of them."
"Six! Based on what little text we have about them, many would go insane after making just one of them!" Healer Bloodfallen said.
"Does Gringotts have any rules about them housing them."
"Rules about housing them… HE HAS ONE OF THEM IN HERE!" King Nagnok yelled.
"Indeed. He gave one of his Horcruxes to a woman named Bellatrix. She said she'll place it in her vault."
"Grr." King Nagnok growled. "Do you know if he gave it to anyone else?"
"He also gave it to Lucius Malfoy."
"Hm…so likely his inner circle… only one person in the inner circle has that name." King Nagnok said. "I will arrange a team to find this Horcrux. If what we believe is true, then that family will lose everything they have." King Nagnok said.
"What about the Potter estate," Kaien asked. Harry and Hermione looked at King Nagnok.
"We just discovered that the current Account Manager for the Potter Estate has been lying to us about the Potter Account. We are currently in the middle of auditing the Potter estate." King Nagnok turned to Harry. "As King of the Goblins, I apologize Mr. Potter for what one of Gringotts' account manager has done." He said with a bow. No one knew how to respond.
"Is alright King Nagnok," Harry said. "You didn't know it was happening until now." King Nagnok raised his head.
"At the end of the audit, Griphook shall face goblin justice for his crimes. As the victim of his actions, you have the right to watch the proceedings. Do you wish to watch?"
"Um…" Harry said.
"Mr. Potter would gladly attend if he is available. Right now, he still has to deal with his medical treatment." Kaien said. King Nagnok looked over to Healer Bloodfallen.
"Mr. Potter still has a long way to go before we can heal all the damage to him." She said.
"I see… I will send you a letter when they finished the audit." King Nagnok turned around and left the room. Kaien, Artoria, and Hermione turned to Healer Bloodfallen.
"It will require a few hours for Mr. Potter to be done with the skeleton fixing process." She said. "The scarring can easily be taken care of with a scar removing ointment." She handed Kaien a large bottle of scar removing ointment. "As for the malnutrition… he will have to go through a set of potions and a nutrition guide." She said as the healer handed Kaien a small case of potions and a small book. "This is enough potions for a week. Come back to me and we'll see how Mr. Potter is and adjust the potion regiment from there." Hermione was shocked to hear how extensive the damage Harry endured in his life. She quickly tackled Harry and hugged him. Kaien gave them a few moments before interrupting.
"Hermione, you need to let Harry go so they can start the medical treatment," Kaien said. Hermione quickly let go of Harry. They saw the two students blushing.
"Mr. Potter, I will put you in a magical induce sleep during the healing process so you will not feel any of the pain from the process." Healer Bloodfallen said.
"Ok," Harry replied. Healer Bloodfallen handed Harry a potion. Harry accepted the potion and swallowed it. He cringed as the potion went down. Harry let out a yawn and quickly fell asleep.
"Come on Hermione, we need to go see your parents," Kaien said. With a sad look, Hermione left with Kaien and Artoria.
Scene Change
Harry, Hermione, and Artoria used the Knight Bus to transport them to Granger's Dentist. They entered the dentistry. They were greeted with an empty lobby. Hermione looked slightly confused. They walked to the reception desk and noticed a bell. Hermione rang the bell. Kaien and Artoria sat down and waited. Mrs. Granger walked out and was shocked to see Hermione standing there. She quickly hugged her daughter and ushered them to an empty patient room. She ran to get her husband. They decided to talk while having lunch. As they were eating lunch, Kaien explained to them the situation about Harry and Hermione's intentions of following him. After careful consideration, they agreed to Hermione's temporary transfer. However, they asked if they could spend time with her. Kaien understood their desire and allowed Hermione to go see them once a week, in the evening. They also wished to see Harry when he is healthy. Kaien, Artoria, and Hermione left the dentistry with the signed paper for Hermione's temporary transfer to the Shiba Academy of Mystical Arts and a promise. They returned to Gringotts to see Harry peacefully sleeping in bed. Healer Bloodfallen approached them with a clipboard.
"How's Harry?" Hermione asked.
"Mr. Potter is still in a magically induced coma. We managed to fix all the incorrectly healed bones in his body. However, we decided to keep him in the coma to make sure his body is fully healed, and his magic is allowed to recover."
"Is it safe for us to move him?" Kaien asked.
"It is safe to move him. However, his skeleton is still fragile." She warned. Kaien nodded his head as he gently picked Harry up. Healer Steelbone handled Artoria a satchel.
"It has the scar ointment and the nutrient potions for him." Healer Steelbone said.
"King Nagnok also asked me to pass on a message to you." She said. "He wished to see you and Mr. Potter as soon as he is fully able to."
"Ok," Kaien said. With that, they left Gringotts. Kaien cast an illusion around Harry, making him appear to be a large package. They entered the Leaky Cauldron and carefully used the floo to get back to The Three Broomsticks. They walked towards the castle. By this time the sun was setting. They walked into Hogwarts and quickly entered their room. Kaien gently placed Harry on his bed. He cast a charm Harry, to inform him when he wakes up. Kaien looked at Hermione. She looked at the peacefully sleeping Harry.
"If you wish to sleep with him, then let me know," Kaien said. Hermione looked at Kaien. Kaien could see her lightly red face. She nodded her head. With a snap of his finger, the bed gently moved to the side and a duplicate bed appeared. Hermione quickly went back to her room. Kaien transfigured his clothes into a set of pajamas. Hermione soon returned dressed in a simple nightgown. Kaien walked towards the door. Hermione laid down on her new bed.
"Good night," Kaien said.
"Good night Hermione replied. With that, the room was plunged into darkness.
