The Great Hall was filled with everyone still talking about the First Task. Many who entered were grateful that they were not selected as champion. Others, with inflated egos, would boast that they would have completed the task more dramatically. The chatter quickly stopped as they spotted the owls descending to the Great Hall. There were much more owls than usual. Everyone quickly realized why. The extra owls belonged to the Daily Profit, once again delivering a copy of the newspaper to everyone, even those who didn't pay for a copy. Up in the Professor's Table, Professor Dumbledore, Professor Karkaroff and Madame Maxime glared at the front cover.
"Professor Dumbledore, Professor Karkaroff and Madame Maxime Personally Biased to Their Own Champion! Champions All Thanked Kaien Shiba for Helping Them Get Ready to Face the Dragons! Bagman Betting on Mister Potter to Win! Exclusive One on One Interview with Each Champion. "
"How I wish to strangle that Japanese bastard." Dumbledore thought. "I should have never allowed him to come here. Now he is slowly tarnishing my image. Kaien even mentioned that duel! Those reporters even got memory photos of the duel!" Dumbledore thought. Professor Karkaroff and Madame Maxime were thinking of similar thoughts.
Those who started the chaos were safely and peacefully sleeping in their beds, ignoring the chaos they created. Kaien and Artoria were fast asleep. From an open window, an owl entered their bedroom. Before it could land, the blanket was quickly thrown to the side as Excalibur, in its black and red glory, pointed at the owl. The owl moved back and landed near the window. Artoria allowed Excalibur to disappear. She walked over to the owl. The owl presented her with the letter. She took the letter. The owl quickly flew away.
"So, who wrote us a letter?" Kaien asked.
"It's from Nagnok." She replied as she opened the letter.
"Dear Kaien and Artoria. I have a few updates for you. The first is that we managed to obtain the item from their Vault. Second, Healer Bloodfallen is making great progress with John Doe's recovery. However, she discovered a problem and has requested Mister Potter and your attention as soon as possible. Sincerely Nagnok." She handed the letter to Kaien as she got back in bed. Kaien chuckled as he got up. He changed out of his sleeping clothes and went downstairs to see Harry was already down there eating breakfast.
"Hello, Kaien-sensei." Harry greeted.
"Morning Harry. We need to go to Gringotts after breakfast." Kaien said.
"Um…sure," Harry replied. They soon head to the fireplace and left to Gringotts.
Scene Change: Nagnok's office.
Kaien and Harry arrived at Gringotts and was quickly escorted to Nagnok's office.
"₲: May the crime fit the bill. :₲" Kaien greeted.
"₲: May your enemy fear your wrath. :₲" Nagnok replied.
"According to your letter, you managed to obtain the cup," Kaien said.
"We did," Nagnok said. "We were able to claim the entire Lestrange Vault because they stored the Horcrux in there."
"Where is the cup?" Kaien asked. Nagnok pulled out a bag.
"It was carefully placed in this dragonskin bag to prevent its influence to affect us," Nagnok said.
"I will be careful then," Kaien said as he took the bag and sent it to his mindscape.
"We also have to decide what will happen to the remaining contents of their vault," Nagnok said.
"In a normal situation, we would split the vault between us and that would be it." Nagnok started. "But the Lestrange added unauthorized curses in the vault, resulting in a few injuries."
"You wish to compensate those injured goblins with some of the gold from their vault," Kaien said.
"Partially," Nagnok said. "The Lestrange family have a lot of Goblin made items in their vault. I wish to get those items returned to the Goblin Nation." Nagnok said.
"Um…why?" Harry asked. Kaien turned to Harry.
"Goblin made items are supposed to return to the Goblin Nation when the intended person that the item was made for died." Kaien began. Nagnok nodded his head.
"Um…I agree to give the Goblin made items back to the Goblin Nation." Harry said.
"Very well, the Goblin made items will return to the Goblin Nation." Nagnok wrote down. "What about the Galleons, Jewels, Property and other items in the Vault?"
"Hm…" Harry said before turning to Kaien. "Why don't you take it. You were the one who discovered the information."
"Are you sure?" Kaien asked.
"I got the entire Potter Fortune to deal with," Harry replied.
"Very well," Kaien said. Nagnok nodded his head as he wrote it down.
"With this done, let's start the next topic," Nagnok said as he pressed a rune. A few seconds later, there was a knock on the door. "Enter!" Nagnok commanded. The door opened up as Healer Bloodfallen pushed Sirius that's was in a wheelchair. Behind them was an account manager. Everyone sat down in the available chairs. "With everyone present, Healer Bloodfallen, please start us off with Lord Black's conditions."
"Lord Black?" Harry questioned as he glanced at Sirius. He looked nervous.
"I spent the last two days looking over Lord Black." Healer Bloodfallen started. "He is very malnourished and will require at least a few months of nutrient potions and physical therapy to get physically better. He also will be required to see a mind healer to help get over the depression and get proper closure." Healer Bloodfallen said. Kaien nodded his head.
"This makes sense…why do they need us here?" Kaien thought.
"The final and most important thing I discovered is that Lord Black is infertile." Healer Bloodfallen said.
"That's where I will continue." The unnamed Goblin said. Kaien and Harry turned to the goblin. "I am Account Manager Ragnok and I manage the Black Account." He said. "Due to Lord Black's infertile, the next heir must be notified immediately and handle any active contracts."
"That's where you come in," Sirius said.
"I'm your heir?" Harry questioned.
"I want you to be," Sirius said.
"Are there any other options?" Harry asked.
"The other is Heir Malfoy," Ragnok said.
"Malfoy?" Harry said. Harry sighed. "I accept then," Harry said.
"Great," Sirius said. Ragnok pulled out a ring and handed it to Sirius. "Harry James Potter, do you willingly accept the title and responsibility that comes with being the Heir of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black?" Sirius asked as he presented a ring to Harry. It was a silver ring with a black gemstone centered on it.
"I, Lord Harry James Potter, willingly accept the title of Heir of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black," Harry said as he took the ring and place it on his hand. The black gemstone began to glow for a few moments before the ring shrunk and fit perfectly on Harry's hand.
"The Family Magic has accepted you as its official Heir," Ragnok said. "With that done, the marriage contract will now go under effect." Ragnok pulled out a sheet of parchment from his folder and presented it to Harry.
"I'm betrothed to Daphne Greengrass?" Harry questioned.
"Miss Greengrass isn't like many of the stereotypical pureblood Slytherins." Kaien defended.
"What do you mean?" Harry asked.
"From what I've heard, being a pureblood Slytherin heiress isn't simple. It makes a person very complicated and full of layers." Kaien said.
"I see…" Harry said.
"When you meet with her about this contract, remember my rules for the study group." Harry didn't reply. Kaien turned to Nagnok and Ragnok. "Anything else?"
"You're going to need to go to the Wizengamot meeting in December to formally declare yourself as Lord Potter." Sirius reminded. Harry nodded his head. With that Kaien and Harry used the Floo to return to their room in Hogwarts.
Scene Change: Hogwarts
Harry and Kaien returned to their room to see no one was there.
"Artoria, are you in the training room again?" Kaien asked.
"I am. We founded a few different options that the champions could use for the second task and we are trying them out right now." Artoria replied.
"Ok." See you soon." Kaien said. They walked up to the Training Area to see a giant swimming tank. In the tank, all the students were swimming. Kaien could see George and Victor appeared to have fins and gills on their bodies. While Fred, Fleur, and Hermione had a giant bubble around their heads. They were dueling each other in the tank. Artoria stood on the side, watching them duel.
"Cease training!" Artoria ordered. They all stopped. The fins and gills on George's and Victor's bodies began to disappear. They started to swim to the surface. Fred, Fleur, and Hermione followed after. They all got out of the water tank and were wrapped in white towels. The water tank disappeared. They all sat down on beach chairs, drying themselves with the towels. Artoria turned to George and Victor.
"How did it feel using the Gillyweed?" She asked.
"It was interesting," George said.
"Agreed," Victor said.
"What were the benefits of using the Gillyweed?"
"We were able to move a lot faster in the water." George started.
"We also were able to concentrate more on the spells," Victor said.
"What were the negatives?" Artoria asked.
"The Gillyweed only lasted for a short period," George said.
"I may not be able to use it due to being a Veela." Fleur chimed in. Artoria glanced at Fleur and nodded her head.
"As for the others, …what were the pros and cons of using the Air Bubble Charm?"
"We were able to cast our spells correctly," Hermione said.
"But we were much slower compared to George and Victor," Fred added.
"We needed to protect the air bubble, or it will pop," Fleur said. Artoria nodded her head.
"With these pros and cons in mind, would you rather use the Gillyweed or the Air Bubble Charm?"
"Gillyweed." Fred and Victor said.
"If I could handle the transformation then the Gillyweed as well," Fleur said. Artoria nodded her head.
"I agree with your choice but, all of you should know the Air Bubble Charm just in case the Gillyweed ends earlier than expected," Artoria said.
"Agreed," Kaien said. "I also believe we need to continue to practice dueling underwater. Especially using the water to our advantage" Kaien said.
"What do you mean Kaien-sensei?" Fleur asked.
"An example would be using either the Banishing Charm or the Water Making Charm to propel yourself forward or using use the Freezing Spell to make ice," Kaien said. They nodded their heads, agreeing with Kaien's comment.
"Anyways, I believe all of you are hungry," Kaien said. They all nodded their heads. They all began to walk down towards the Great Hall. As Kaien was walking, he pulled out a small sheet of parchment and wrote a quick note on it.
"Dobby," Kaien said. Dobby quickly appeared.
"Yes, Harry Potter's Master?" Dobby asked.
"Please discreetly hand this note to this person," Kaien said. Dobby took the note and quickly disappeared. Harry looked at Kaien.
"Is it because of that?" Kaien nodded his head. They soon arrived at the Great Hall. They could hear the students talking among themselves. The noisy Great Hall went silent as they entered. They ignored the attention as they walked to their table. They sat down and began to have dinner. Kaien glanced at the recipient of the message. The recipient spotted Kaien's glance. The recipient replied with a subtle nod in his direction. Kaien looked back down and continued to eat. Soon, the entire group finished eating and left the Great Hall.
"The rest of the night is for you to do what you wish." They all nodded their head. "Hermione, Harry, please follow me," Kaien said. Hermione glanced at Harry; who was already following Kaien. Hermione quickly followed behind them. They soon arrived at the library and entered the Study Room.
"Harry, what's going on?" She asked. Harry sighed.
"Just wait a moment please," Harry said. Hermione sighed as she sat down and waited. A minute later, they head a knock on the door.
"Come in," Kaien said. The door opened as Daphne Greengrass entered.
"Granger," Daphne said coldly.
"Greengrass," Hermione replied.
"Ladies," Kaien interjected. "Let's all sit down, and we'll explain everything to you," Kaien said. Daphne sat down. Kaien and Harry told Daphne the truth about Sirius and the information that Account Manager Ragnok told them. Hermione and Daphne were shocked by the information for different reasons.
"Harry has to marry her?" Hermione thought. Jealousy, fear, and doubt began to fill her mind. "Maybe Harry might not want me. After all, I have these front bucktooth teeth."
"I get to marry Harry!" Daphne internally squealed. She, like many other young children, was raised with stories of the Boy-Who-Lived. She developed a small crush for him. That crush grew this year with seeing him more muscular and handsome. Kaien could see the girls were lost in their thoughts so he loudly clapped his hands, getting the girls' attention.
"Now that I've got your attention, Harry has something to say to both of you." He said.
"Thank you, Kaien-sensei," Harry said. He turned to the girls in front of him. "I will not choose between Hermione or Miss Greengrass," Harry said. "Due to my unique situation, being both Lord Potter and Lord Black, I will need two wives," Harry said. Their eyes widen. Harry looked at Daphne. "The contract requires me to marry Miss Greengrass for House Black." Harry turned to Hermione. "House Potter doesn't have any contract." He looked at both girls. "If both of you are willing to share this fool," Harry said. The girls looked at each other before turning to Harry.
"We need to talk about this privately." She said. Kaien nodded his head.
"I will cast a privacy bubble around both of you. When both of you are done, tap the bubble." Hermione and Daphne nodded their heads. Kaien cast the bubble around them. Kaien and Harry could see that both of them were arguing with each other. Luckily no wands or fists were used. Soon both of them arrived at some conclusion and shook hands. They both tapped the bubble. Kaien lowered the privacy bubble.
"We concluded." Hermione started.
"That both of us are willing to share you," Daphne said.
"So, both of you are not going to try and duel each other to get more time with me?" Harry asked. They looked at Harry.
"We…won't." They said.
"Miss Greengrass," Kaien said. "Due to your circumstance, you could join us in our dorm if you wish." Daphne thought about it for a few seconds.
"While I like the offer, it may put me at risk next year." She said. Kaien nodded his head.
"I understand completely," Kaien said as he stood up. "Be right back," Kaien said as he walked out of the study room. The three students talked introduced each other and began to talk among themselves. Kaien soon returned with a book in his hand.
"What's that?" Harry asked.
"This is Da Rules of Hogwarts," Kaien said. "This book has all the rules that Hogwarts has." He opened it and began skimming it. Kaien cracked a small smile as he showed them the page. Daphne's eyes widen with realization.
"What did you show her?" Harry asked.
"It's a set of rights that an attending Lord at Hogwarts gets," Kaien said as he showed them the page.
"As a Lord/Lady, you have the rights to your own quarters in Hogwarts for yourself and for your significant other (present or future) regardless of Hogwarts House. The Lord/Lady is allowed to come and go as they please as long as their actions don't negatively affect the reputation of Hogwarts or their grades in their classes. The Headmaster/Headmistress of Hogwarts must grant passage to the Lord's/Lady's agent without any restriction on the when they meet or how long they meet." Harry's and Hermione's eyes widen.
"Next year, when you are officially a Hogwarts student, you could request these rights as Lord Potter. If Dumbledore tries to stop you, remind him that you are Lord Potter. The emancipation happened since November and he hasn't done anything to overrule it."
"In Fifth Year, Harry could invoke these rights which would allow me to escape the Slytherin Dorms. But it would place a bigger target on me." She thought.
"Let's say I decide to take the offer right now, how would we explain why am I spending time in your quarters?" Daphne asked.
"I could say that I hired you to teach Harry Pureblood Etiquette," Kaien said. "Which isn't fully wrong since Harry will need to learn it eventually," Kaien said.
"What would I say if they asked why I wasn't in the dorms?" She asked.
"Do you get your own rooms?"
"No."
"Then you'll tell them that I allowed you to have your own room to live in," Kaien said. "If anyone wishes to challenge my authority…" Daphne nodded her head.
"I accept the offer," Daphne said.
Time Skip: December 1st, 1994
It has been a week since Daphne joined their group. The Slytherins were offended by Daphne's actions and tried to correct it. They tried to confront her in an empty hallway. To her shock, Kaien appeared out of nowhere and defended her. They all quickly back down and ran away. In their free time, Daphne would spend time teaching Harry and Hermione the Pureblood Etiquette that has been drilled into her since childhood. While Hermione and Harry, to a lesser extent, helped educate her on the Muggle world.
They were eating dinner in the Great Hall when Professor McGonagall walked towards them.
"Good evening Professor." Luna and Daphne greeted.
"Good evening Miss Lovegood and Miss Greengrass." Professor McGonagall replied.
"What can I do for you this evening?" Kaien asked.
"Can you place a privacy barrier around us?" She asked. Kaien pulled out his wand and wrapped everyone in a privacy bubble. "Thank you." She said. The turned to face the four champions. "On December 25th, we will be having another traditional event, the Yule Ball. The Yule Ball is a semi-formal dance open for all students fourth year or above." Professor McGonagall glanced at Luna. "Third Years and below are allowed to attend if they are invited by a fourth-year student or above, as a date. The last important detail is regarding the champions. All of you will be attending and opening the Ball."
"Um…what do you mean opening the ball?" Harry asked.
"Opening the Ball refers to the first dance of the Ball," Daphne said.
"Correct, Miss Greengrass. Five points to Slytherin." Professor McGonagall said. "The Yule Ball will start at 6 o'clock in the Great Hall." She turned to Kaien. "I'm done with my announcement." Kaien lowered the Privacy Bubble as she walked away. They soon finished eating their dinner and returned to their quarters.
"So… each champion will need a date." Kaien glanced at the champions. "All of you have any ideas for a date?"
"I do," Victor said as he looked at Luna. Kaien cracked a smile. Ever since Luna joined their group, Luna's blunt yet zoned out personality drew Victor's interest. It also doesn't help that Luna sees Victor Krum as the student, not the Quidditch Superstar or the Durstrang Champion. "Luna Lovegood, will you go with me to the Yule Ball?" Victor said as he took a knee, facing Luna.
"I will," Luna said. Kaien turned to the other champions. Harry looked at Daphne and Hermione.
"Um…" Harry said.
"We'll talk about it," Hermione said. Daphne nodded her head. Kaien turned his head to Fred.
"Don't worry about it Kaien-sensei, I'll get one by the Ball," Fred said. Kaien turned to Fleur, who was the most silent.
"Um… I'll get one by the Ball." Fleur nervously said. Everyone could tell she was nervous for some reason. Artoria and Kaien could tell why she was nervous.
"She dares! She dares think she is worthy of asking Kaien out for the Ball!" Artoria mentally growled. "This mongrel must be punished for her heresy!" Kaien rolled his eyes.
"She not only channeling her inner Gilgamesh with the mongrel insults, but she also started to channel a bit of Zealot." Kaien thought. "I better stop this before Artoria decides to try roasting a bird with Excalibur." He walked towards Artoria and wrapped her in a hug.
"Artoira, you are scaring Fleur even more than before," Kaien whispered Artoria looked at Kaien.
"I want burgers and fries," Artoria growled. Kaien cracked a smile. During their time in London, Artoria quickly founded a love for burgers and fries. She would devour burgers after burger, causing them to get kicked out of a few burger restaurants. Ever since they're at Hogwarts, Artoria wasn't able to enjoy any burgers or fries.
"I'll see what I can do," Kaien said.
"I will hold you to your word," Artoria said as she looked back at Fleur. Fleur looked at Artoria's cold intimidating eyes. "You have earned Kaien's permission to ask him to the Ball…" Fleur's face was full of relief. "BUT!" Artoria's loud interjection made Fleur nervous again. "This doesn't mean that you have an easy time to get into Kaien's heart," Artoria said as she went to her room. Kaien sighed.
"I apologize for how Artoria treated you," Kaien said. Fleur sighed.
"Most guys would go to their girlfriend and leave me alone to deal with the vengeful girl," Fleur said.
"I've been with Artoria long enough to understand how she thinks, and I know why she acted like that," Kaien said.
"Um…why does Artoria act like that?"
"Apart is jealousy," Kaien said.
"I hate you. I hate you. I hate you." Artoria said towards Kaien. Kaien ignored Artoria as he continued.
"I have a few female friends, all of which you remind her off. She has emotional feelings for me, but she is too nervous or uncomfortable to share those feeling with me. So, she would threaten all females that show interest in me."
"And you allow that?" Fleur asked. Kaien chuckled.
"If you can't handle my step-sister's fury then will I know that you will stick with me in all the things that come," Kaien said.
"I see…" Fleur said.
"Enough with the depressing topic, get a good night rest for we still got training tomorrow!" The students all let out a groan as they went upstairs, getting ready for bed.
Time Skip: December 25th
The next three weeks were hectic, to say the least. Everyone's mind was split between the final exams and the Yule Ball.
Flashback: Week 1
Daphne, Hermione, and Harry were sitting in Harry's bedroom.
"So, for the Ball, I need a date." Harry started. "And I don't know who to choose."
"Good. Because we talked about it before getting you." Hermione said.
"You did?" Harry said.
"We did," Daphne replied. "We all know that no one should know that I am in a relationship with you. It would put a giant target on me and make the target on you even bigger than before."
"She's right," Hermione said. "So, I suggested that I'll be your date to the Yule Ball," Hermione said.
"While I get to spend the entire Easter Holiday with you," Daphne said. Harry turned to Hermione.
"How is that fair to you?" Harry asked.
"I was planning to go back home to spend some more time with my family during the Easter Holiday. So, when Daphne proposed this, I was fine with it."
"Ok then," Harry said.
Time Skip: Week 2
Fred and George walked to the Gryffindor Common Room.
"Do you remember the password to the common room?" Fred asked. George dug into his pocket and pulled out a small sheet of paper.
"According to Lee, it's mistletoe," George replied. They soon arrived in front of the Fat Lady.
"Good evening. It's been a long time since I've seen you two. Many Gryffindors tried to convince me to block you from returning here.
"But you weren't fooled -" Fred said.
"-by their pointless attempts," George said.
"For you are both beautiful and intelligent." They said together.
"Oh, you." The Fat Lady replied as she covered her mouth with her hand, trying to not blush at their word.
"We're just trying to enter the common room to ask our fellow Gryffindors if they're interested in being our date," Fred said.
"After all, Fred needs to open the ball for he is the Hogwarts's Champion."
"I see…do you know the current password?"
"It's mistletoe," Fred replied.
"Correct." The Fat Lady said as her portrait opened up, revealing the red and golden common room.
"Thanks," George replied as they entered the Common Room. They heard the expected laughter and chatter. Some were using some of their products while others were talking about the ball.
Then Ron noticed them.
"What are you doing here!?" Ron shouted, pointing at the twins. The laughter and chatter went silent as everyone stared at Fred and George.
"Why Ronnikins." Fred started.
"You're acting as if we don't belong in Gryffindor," George replied.
"You don't," Ron replied. "You betrayed Gryffindor and Hogwarts the moment you became friends with those foreign students." Fred and George glanced at each other.
"I think dear Ronnikins have been dropped on his head just bit too much," Fred said.
"I agree," George replied.
"Fred. George. What are you two doing here?" They turned to see Angelina Johnson and Alicia Spinnet just enter the common room.
"Ah, the two of the three beautiful Gryffindor Vixens have graced us with their presence!" Fred said.
"We are not worthy of your presence," George replied.
"Enough you jokers," Angelina said.
"So, what are you two doing here?" Alicia asked.
"We were looking for both of you," Fred said.
"Oh?" Angelina said. Fred turned to Angelina while George turned to Alicia.
"I was wondering if you would be my date to the Yule Ball." They said.
"Huh?" Alicia replied, shocked at the question.
"About time," Angelina said with a small smile.
"So will I take that answer as a yes?" Fred asked.
"Yes, I will be your date, Fred." She said.
"Alicia?" George asked, trying to get her attention.
"Um…sure," Alicia said.
"Great!" George said.
"For right now, don't worry about the dress," Fred said.
"Why?" The girls asked.
"Trust us," George said. The girls looked at each.
"Fine," Angelina said. "If this is a prank, we will get revenge."
"It's not. We promised Professor McGonagall that if-"
"-We don't do any pranks, except after each task, then I can ditch class to help Fred with the tournament."
"Very well then," Angelina said. With that, the twins left the common room.
Time Skip: December 22nd
Underneath the crowded London, protected by various wards, lies the Ministry of Magic. It is the magical government of all witches and wizards for the entire United Kingdom. On this day is the normal Wizengamot meeting. These meetings are normally at the Spring Equinox, Summer Solstice, Autumn Equinox, and the Winter Solstice. These meetings require all current Lords to show up. Harry and Kaien in Kaien's room, putting on their Lord Robes.
"Kaien-sensei, why do we need to put these robes on?" Harry asked. He was dressed in plum-colored robes embroidered with a silver letter W.
"Unfortunately, the Wizengamot requires the Lord and Ladies who attend in their compacity to put these robes on," Kaien said. With the final adjustments, they walked downstairs to the floo. "Wizengamot Chambers," Kaien said as he threw the floo powder into the fireplace. The fire turned green as Kaien and Harry entered the fire.
Scene Change: Wizengamot Chambers
Harry and Kaien walked out of the fireplace. They walked down a few corridors where they arrived in a large chamber. They entered the chamber. Kaien had to go to the guest side of the chamber. With the help of his Lordship ring, Harry found his seat in the Chambers. Harry sat there as more members entered the chamber. They all quickly founded their seat. Harry saw Professor Dumbledore there.
"Good morning members of the Wizengamot." Professor Dumbledore said from his spot. "The scribe will begin the Wizengamot with attendance." Professor Dumbledore sat down. Someone else, the Scribe, stood up with a long sheet of parchment. He began to read each name on the list. Harry immediately noticed Lucius Malfoy was there.
"Lord Black." The scribe read.
"Representative for Lord Black is here," Lucius announced.
"I can't wait to see Lucius's shocked expression today." Harry thought as he listened to the attendance. He recognized a lot of the names from Daphne's lessons.
"Lord Potter." The scribe said. It was Harry's turn.
"Lord Potter is present," Harry said. Everyone turned to see him. Harry could see everyone began to whisper among themselves. The attendance resumed. It took a few more minutes before the attendance was finished. The Scribe sat back down. Professor Dumbledore stood up.
"Madam Bones has put in a request to speak to the Wizengamot," Dumbledore said. He sat down as Madam Bones stood up.
"Good day members of Wizengamot." Madam Bones began. "I am speaking to all of you not as Madam Bones, Regent of House Bones, but as the Director of the DMLE." She began. "It has come to my attention that a pureblood wizard was sent to Azkaban without a proper trial." She began. The various members of the Wizengamot began to talk at once. She glanced at Professor Dumbledore. He pulled out his wand and cast a loud boom; silencing the Wizengamot. "Thank you, Chief Warlock." Madam Bones said. "Now then, we are going to give this wizard a proper trial." She said. Harry watched as Mr. Malfoy stood up.
"The Wizengamot recognizes Lord Black's representative." Professor Dumbledore said.
"May the Wizengamot know the name of this individual?" He asked. Madam Bones smirked.
"Of course. Allow me to call him in." She said. The Wizengamot Chamber doors were forced open as Sirius Black, dress in his Wizengamot robes, entered the Wizengamot. Behind him was Auror Tonks and Auror Shacklebolt.
"Lord Black is here for his trial." Sirius Black announced. Many members of the Wizengamot panicked upon seeing Sirius Black there. Minister Fudge turned to Madam Bones.
"Why is Sirius Black here? He should've been sent back to Azkaban?" Minister Fudge questioned.
"Its as I explained it, Minister, according to our records, Sirius Black never received a proper trial."
"But he is guilty." Minister Fudge tried to argue.
"Enough!" Harry shouted; abruptly silencing the entire chamber. Everyone turned to Harry, who stood up from his chair. "If all of you are done acting like little children. Then let's begin this trial then. Madam Bones spent an entire month doing a private investigation regarding this matter. The fact that she concluded this means no trial has been done." Harry said.
"Who gives you the right to come in here and order the Wizengamot around?" Lucius Malfoy asked.
"Who gives you the right to be here? Lord Black is currently in attendance." Harry countered.
"Also, where is your ring?" Sirius shouted. Everyone turned to him. "If you truly represent House Black, then they are your ring, signifying your status." Everyone turned to Lucius; seeing his response. Lucius sneered at them before standing up and walking out of the Wizengamot.
"With that all out of the way, let's begin the trial." Madam Bones declared. Sirius Black willingly submitted himself under Veritaserum. He repeated the same thing he did under Madam Bones questioning. Soon a vote was held, and Sirius Black was declared innocent.
"Lord Black." Madam Bones began. "We, the Wizengamot and the Ministry of Magic apologize for this massive failure on our part. You will receive compensation on a later date." Madam Bones said.
"Very well." Sirius Black said as he walked up to his seat. Professor Dumbledore stood up.
"Since there is no longer anything on the agenda for this Wizengamot, I formally declare this Wizengamot over." Everyone stood up and tried to talk to Sirius or Harry. Kaien immediately cast a privacy bubble around them. Harry and Sirius walked towards each other. The privacy bubble forced people to move aside. Soon Harry's and Sirius's bubbles formed together. Kaien sneaked into their bubble. They all walked out of the Wizengamot Chamber.
"So, what are you going to be doing now Sirius?" Harry asked.
"Well, I need to talk with Account Manager Ragnok about a few things about the Black Account," Sirius said.
"I see…" Harry said. "See you later."
"See you later pup," Sirius replied. They parted ways at the floo.
Flashback Ended: December 24th
Everyone sat down in the living room. The fireplace was lit, warming up the living room. There was a Christmas tree with a lot of presents below the tree. Everyone was in their sleepwear as they sat down in the living room. They began to exchange presents with everyone. Breakfast quickly followed after the gift exchange. Kaien allowed everyone to spend the day in whatever way they want. Victor, Harry, Fred, and George decided to get their broom and fly around. Hermione, Daphne, Luna, and Fleur pulled a book out and sat by the fire.
"Kaien," Kyōka called out. "I may have founded Tom."
"Ok Kyōka," Kaien replied as they walked up to their room. Kyōka appeared with a map.
"According to Tom's memories, he hid one of his Horcruxes in the Gaunt Shack." She pointed a location with a circle on it. "With Mysteria's help, we were able to create and follow a reiatsu ribbon to London. During your trip to Diagon Ally, we were able to pinpoint a more exact area." Kyōka pointed at a spot on the map.
"Little Hangleton?" Artoria read.
"But it's so close to the other Horcrux," Kaien said.
"It is. Either he is aware that we are hunting the Horcruxes down or it's a coincidence." Kyōka said.
"So, what are we going to do?" Artoria asked.
"I suggest that Artoria watches over the Shack while Kaien goes to capture Tom," Kyōka suggested.
"Why?" Artoria asked.
"Based on what we could gather, if Kaien failed the initial attempt to capture Tom, there is a high chance he'll try and retrieve the ring if it's not a coincidence."
"And I will be able to eliminate him," Artoria concluded.
"Yes," Kyōka said.
"Let's get this started," Kaien said. Kyōka and Artoria nodded their heads. Kyōka returned to Kaien's mindscape. Artoria and Kaien used the floo connection and left to the Leaky Cauldron.
Scene Change: London
Kaien and Artoria came out of the Floo to the mostly empty Leaky Cauldron.
"Ah, Mister, and Miss Shiba." Tom the Innkeeper said. "Passing by?"
"Hello, Tom. Yes, we're passing by." Kaien replied. Tom nodded his head as Kaien and Artoria left the Leaky Cauldron. Kaien pointed his wand out, summoning the Knight Bus and instructing Stan to take them to Little Hangleton. Kaien and Artoria walked to the Gaunt Shack. Artoria hid in a nearby bush, allowing her to see the shack but preventing anyone from seeing her.
With the Gaunt Shack guarded, Kaien summoned the reiatsu ribbon Kyōka and Mysteria created. It was an aged and wrinkly ribbon as if it would fall apart in a few moments. Kaien followed the ribbon to an old manor on a hill. Kaien shunpō'ed up the hill. As he got closer to the manor, Kaien could spot some of its windows boarded, tiles missing from its roof, and ivy spreading over the building's sides. Kaien could sense someone in the manor.
"Shrift S: The Shadow." Kaien thought as he jumped into the shadows. Kaien continued up the stairs to the second floor. Kaien could see that there was light coming from one of the rooms. Kaien moved towards the room. Kaien entered the room to see that the light he saw was from a fireplace, warming up the room. He saw a short and fat person talking to someone who was sitting in the chair, facing the fire.
"Master…according to your spy, the boy is on his way to winning the tournament." The short person said.
"Essellent." The person sitting in the chair said with a slight snake hiss.
"So, there is Tom." Kaien thought.
"Wormtail, where is Nagini?" Tom asked.
"I believe she is in the forest, hunting the nearby animals." The newly dubbed Wormtail replied. From the shadows, Kaien could see a snake slithering towards them.
"$: Master, we have a guest here. I could sense someone walked towards the house. But I couldn't sense anything else. $" The snake reported.
"$: Thank you Nagini. :$" The person replied in Parseltongue. "Wormtail, it appears we have an uninvited guest in the house." Wormtail drew his wand and quickly turned around, constantly looking around, trying to guard his master. Kaien remained in the shadows. Kaien watched as Nagini slithered around the room. She slithered very close to the shadows Kaien was hiding in before slithered back to her master.
"$: Did you find our guest? :$" Tom asked.
"$: I know our guest is in this room…but I can't find him. :$" Nagini reported.
"Wormtail, we're leaving now!" Tom ordered.
"Yes, Master," Wormtail replied as he walked towards Tom.
"This is my only chance." Kaien thought. "Restrain them." The shadow tentacles began to rise out of the shadows.
"$: Master! Escape now! :$" Nagini hissed.
"WORMTAIL!" Tom yelled. Wormtail managed to grab Tom and apparated out, barely missing the shadow tentacles. The shadow tentacles turned to Nagini, who was trying to slither away. They easily captured her, pinning her down on the ground. Kaien's head rose out of the shadow, in front of Nagini.
"$: I will kill you! My master will come back and kill you! :$" Nagini hissed.
"$: Foolish Nagini. :$" Kaien said. Nagini paused and looked at Kaien in shock.
"$: You're a speaker? :$"
"$: I am. :$" Kaien replied. Nagini resume trying to escape. "$: Tell me where Tom Riddle?" Kaien asked. Nagini ignored Kaien's question as she continued to try and escape. "$: Stop trying to escape and you will answer all of my questions. :$" Kaien ordered. Nagini stopped moving and slowly looked at Kaien. Nagini's eyes glared at Kaien with uncontrolled anger as she was forced to answer Kaien's question.
"$: I don't know where my master went. :$" Nagini replied.
"$: Why was Tom here? :$"
"$: My master was here to slowly recover and wait. :$"
"$: Wait for what? :$"
"$: For the boy's arrival. :$" Nagini revealed.
"$: Why? :$" Kaien asked.
"$: I don't know. :$" Nagini admitted.
"$: I see…goodbye Nagini. May your death cause Tom much despair. :$" Kaien said as the shadow tentacles choked Nagini, instantly killing her. Kaien picked up the dead snake and returned to the shadow, leaving the manor. Kaien soon met back with Artoria at the Shack.
"Hello, Kaien." Artoria greeted.
"Hello Artoria, Tom didn't come by."
"No, he didn't," Artoria replied. Kaien nodded his head. With Kyōka's help, Kaien managed to bypass all the security spells and wards around the Gaunt Shack.
"Remember Kaien, there are a compulsion charm and a withering curse on the ring," Kyōka warned.
"I remember," Kaien said as he grabbed a small box buried underground. He opened the box to see the ring. Immediately Kaien could feel the compulsion charm, trying to tempt Kaien to put it on. Kaien removed both the compulsion charm and the withering curse from the ring. Kaien closed the box and sent the box to his mindscape. Kaien summoned Mysteria and began to place a few spells in the shack before throwing the dead Nagini in the shack. Kaien closed the door and returned to Artoria.
"So, when will you purify the ring?" Artoria asked.
"I'll do it after the ball," Kaien replied. With that, they left the Gaunt Shack and returned to Hogwarts.
Scene Change: Unknown location.
Wormtail and Lord Voldemort apparated to a small room; covered in dust.
"Where are we Wormtail?" Lord Voldemort questioned.
"It-it's my house, my lord," Wormtail replied.
"It'll do. Now, where is Nagini?"
"I failed to grab her," Wormtail admitted. Lord Voldemort pointed his wand at Wormtail. Wormtail shivered, ready to be punished again. Suddenly Voldemort dropped his wand. Wormtail stared at his master in shock. Voldemort grit his teeth. Wormtail could tell his master is even more furious than before. "Master?"
"That man…dares!" Voldemort yelled the nearby furniture was sent flying to the walls.
"Master, please calm down. We're in a mudblood neighborhood. Too much magic may cause unwanted attention." Wormtail said. Voldemort calmed down.
"Wormtail."
"Yes, my lord?" Wormtail asked as he took a knee, facing his master.
"Our plans have unfortunately been expedited… You must follow all of my instructions to the letter. We have one opportunity for this to work…do you understand?"
"Yes, my lord," Wormtail replied.
"Good…this is what I need you to do," Voldemort said. Wormtail nodded his head as he listened to his master's instructions.
Scene Change: Hogwarts's Great Hall
As soon as Kaien and Artoria returned to Hogwarts, she was dragged away by the other girls to get ready for the Ball. Kaien chuckled at Artoria's helpless reaction. Kaien knew that Artoria could easily break free from them if she wanted to but she didn't. All the other guys sat in the living room. A house-elf brought them some chilled butterbeer for them to enjoy. Kaien separated his soul from his body and immediately jumped into his shadow. Yhwach took control of the body. No one noticed the difference.
"Artoria, are you and the girls in our room?" Kaien asked.
"No. I believe we're either in Fleur's room or Daphne's." Artoria replied.
"Good," Kaien said as he appeared in his room. Kaien summoned the pair of black gloves with the skulls engulfed in blue flames and them on. He summoned the box, containing the ring Horcrux. Kaien pulled the ring out of the box and dropped the box. With one swift movement, Kaien dislodged the soul fragments out of the ring. Before the soul fragment could realize what happened, Kaien bounded him in kidō and set him to his mindscape. Ichigo repeated the process with the cup. Kaien summoned Longinus and placed the ring and the cup on the spear. Longinus began to glow golden, releasing holy energy.
"Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin and then concentrate your holy energy into purifying them." Kaien said. The holy energy engulfed them; purging the remaining dark magic from the ring and the cup. Kaien destroyed the box and sent the purified ring and cup to his mindscape. Kaien sneaked back into his body.
"So, what happened while I was gone?" Kaien asked.
"Everyone is currently sharing stories. When it was your turn, I shared the story about you getting drunk with Sayaka." Yhwach admitted. Kaien groaned, remembering the significance of that event. The guys noticed that it was already four in the afternoon and left to their rooms getting ready for their date.
Time Skip: Kaien's Quarter's Common Room
Kaien, Fred, George, Harry, and Victor were already done getting ready. During the weekend, Kaien and Artoria took everyone to the nonmagical world to get their formal clothes. Kaien took the men to get custom-fitted suits. With a minor compulsion charm on the workers, the suits were adjusted so that the suit sleeves wouldn't interfere with the wand holster.
Kaien wore a black suit with a light silver dress shirt and violet tie. Fred wore a charcoal suit with a white shirt and a red and golden tie. George also wore a charcoal suit but with a golden and red plaid shirt with a blue tie. Victor decided to dress in the standard formal uniform from Durmstrang, consisting of a red tunic with brown trousers and tall black boots. It also has a short fur-lined cape. Harry was dressed in a black suit with a white dress shirt and an emerald green tie.
Artoria was the first one to walk down. She was dressed in a black and dark violet strapless dress with matching heels.
"You look beautiful." Kaien complimented.
"Thank you." She replied. Artoria moved to the side as Alicia Spinnet walked down. She was dressed in a light violet dress with red embordering. She walked to George.
"Uh…H-ello Alicia." Alicia cracked a smile.
"It seems George's mind can't comprehend Alicia's beauty," Fred said. George replied with a punch to the arm. "Ow!" Alicia chuckled as she moved to the side. Angelina Johnson walked down. She was dressed in a red shoulder strap dress with golden embordering. She walked to Fred.
"Um..." Fred stuttered.
"Fred serves you right," George thought.
"H-hello Angelina. You look wonderful." Fred said. Angelina smiled.
"Thank you, Fred. I believe this was the first time you gave me an honest compliment." She said as she moved to the side. Luna walked down. She was dressed in a spangled silver robe. She walked to Victor.
"You look beautiful." Victor complimented.
"Blagodarya [Thank you]," Luna replied in Bulgarian. Victor smiled as Luna moved to the side. The next one to walk down was Daphne. She was dressed in a dark emerald green dress with silver embordering.
"W-ow," Harry said. Daphne cracked a small smile.
"Thank you, Harry," Daphne said. "I see you're wearing the matching tie I picked out for you." Daphne moved to the side as Hermione walked down. Harry was shocked. She didn't look like Hermione at all. She had done something with her hair; it was no longer bushy but sleek and shiny and twisted up into an elegant knot at the back of her head. She was wearing a dress made of a floaty, periwinkle-blue material, and she was holding herself with more confidence than before.
"Hermione…you look amazing." Harry complimented.
"Thank you, Harry," Hermine replied. She moved to the side as Fleur walked down. She was dressed in a silver dress with a slit on the side.
"What do you think Kaien?" Fleur asked.
"It looks wonderful on you," Kaien said. Fleur smiled at Kaien's compliment. Kaien turned to face the students. With that, the students walked to the Great Hall. The halls were mostly empty since most of the attending students were already down in the Great Hall. They arrived to see Professor McGonagall standing there.
"Ah. Great. All of you are on time." She said. "Everyone has already entered the Great Hall and waiting for you to enter and start the first dance." Artoria, Daphne, George, and Alicia nodded their heads and entered the Great Hall through a side door. Everyone lined up behind each other. Victor and Luna were first. Followed by Fleur and Kaien. Right behind them were Fred and Angelina. Finally, was Harry and Hermione. The Great Hall doors opened as they all slowly entered. The music began to play, and everyone began to clap as they walked towards a round table, where the judges sat. All the champions could tell everyone were all receiving glances for different reasons. Some were jealous looks about who were the dance partners. Others were from purebloods about the scandalous dresses the women were wearing. They soon arrived at the round table and sat down with the judges. Everyone was surprised to see Percy Weasley sitting with them instead of Mr. Crouch. They noticed that there wasn't any food at the table but small menus with a small note on them. Picked up the menu and glanced at it.
"Pork Chops!" He said. A plate of steaming hot pork chops appeared in front of him. Dumbledore smiled before dug in. Everyone grabbed their menu and quickly ordered their food. Kaien, Fleur, and Victor cracked a smile when they noticed that French, Bulgarian and Japanese food were on the menu. They ordered their food, and everyone began to eat. Dinner soon finished. Dumbledore stood up from his spot.
"Can I have everyone stand up?" Dumbledore asked. Everyone stood up. He pulled out a wand. Kaien noticed that it was a different wand than before.
"Guess he figured out the switcheroo." Kaien thought as he waved his wand. All the tables organized themselves near the wall, clearing the floor. He then conjured a raised platform. A set of drums, several guitars, a flute, a cello, and some bagpipes floated to the platform. A group of people walked towards the stage. They were all extremely hairy and dressed in black robes that had been artfully ripped and torn. The audience began to go wild, recognizing the performers. They picked up their instruments.
Everyone walked down to the dance floor, ready for the first dance. Soon the first dance began with a mournful tune. Slowly more people joined them on the dance floor. Everyone soon began to switch dance partners. Kaien danced with Angelina, Hermione, Luna, and Artoria. They all took a break from dancing, occupying a table. Kaien, Daphne, and Harry volunteered to get everyone a few drinks for everyone. As they walked to the punch bowl, they were interrupted by Draco Malfoy, dressed in black velvet dress robes with a high collar.
"Greengrass." He said. Daphne turned to Draco.
"Yes, Malfoy?" She asked, giving him a cold glare. Draco ignored her cold glare.
"Why are you spending time with Potter?" He questioned.
"Do I need to tell you everything that his happening in my life?" Daphne asked. "Because I believe I don't have to."
"Don't question me, Greengrass. Remember you will be soon trapped in a marriage contract with me." Draco said.
"Right…my father already promised me that he will not lock me into a marriage contract." Draco smiled.
"You don't know… the Ancient and Most Noble House of Greengrass and the Ancient and Most Noble House of Black has a marriage contract that's active right now." Draco said. "Once that blood traitor mutt is dead, I will be able to claim lordship of the house through my mother." Draco proclaimed. Harry began to feel annoyed by Draco's words. The invisible Black Heir ring began to warm up, showing that the magic of House Black is annoyed by Draco's words.
"Draco." Harry interrupted. Draco turned to Harry.
"Potter. Go away, this discussion is for your betters, you blood traitor." Draco sneered. The invisible Lord Potter ring began to warm up, showing that the magic of House Potter is offended by Draco's words.
"Heir of the Noble House of Malfoy." Harry started; immediately getting Draco's attention. He never heard Harry using his formal title before. "You dare insult me and my House with your words!" Harry proclaimed. The music suddenly stopped. Everyone turned to look at him.
I, Lord Harry James Potter, Lord of the Ancient and Most Noble House of Potter and Heir of the Ancient and Most Noble House of Black," Harry revealed the rings to the startled heir. "Hereby challenge you to an honor duel right here and right now." Draco stood there, shocked at what happened. He looked around; trying to find an ally. Dumbledore reached the group.
"Mr. Potter, please stop your-"
"This is not school matter Headmaster Dumbledore. This is house matters. You should know this as the Lord of the House Dumbledore." Harry said. Everyone was shocked at what Harry revealed. Dumbledore sighed as he stepped away. Harry turned to Draco.
"Will you accept the Honor Duel, or will you cower and show your lack of honor," Harry questioned. Draco looked around and no one else said anything.
"Fine Potter." Draco finally said. "I accept your challenge."
"Good. We will have it right here, right now." He said.
"Fine, my second will be…"
"Me." Everyone turned to see Severus Snape standing there. "As his Godfather I am allowed to be his second.
"If you're Mr. Malfoy's second, then I should be allowed to be Mr. Potter's second since he is my apprentice," Kaien said. Professor Flitwick and Professor McGonagall sighed as they walked to them and quickly set up the dueling field for them. Bleachers were once again set up for them to watch. Harry and Kaien moved to one side of the field while Draco and Severus moved to the other side.
"Remember what I taught you, Harry," Kaien said. Harry remembered all the spells, techniques, and tips Kaien told him from past duels. Harry and Draco meet in the middle neither one gave each other a bow and walked 15 steps away. During this, Professor Flitwick told the duelists the rules for the duel.
"Begin!" Professor Flitwick said as he stepped to the side. Draco immediately pointed his wand at Harry.
"Reducto! Reducto! Reducto!" Draco cast. Harry saw the spells and easily stepped to the side, dodging the spells. Draco started to be annoyed. "Stand still Potter!" Draco yelled as he continued to cast the Reductor Curse. Harry replied by simply dodging the spells.
"Come on Malfoy. I thought being the son and godson of two Death Eaters, they would have taught you more spells." Harry teased.
"Grr," Draco growled. He pointed his wand at Harry. "Reducto! Os Ruptor [Bone Breaker], Locomotor Mortis! Depulso!" Draco cast. Harry continued to dodge his spells.
"Good job Ferret. It looks like you can do other tricks." Harry said.
"$: Serpensortia Black Mamba. :$" Harry cast in Parseltongue. A Black Mamba shot out of Harry's wand.
"$: What are your orders, Master? :$" The black mamba hissed.
"$: Restrain the two-legger with the blond hair. ;$" Harry ordered.
"$: As you command! :$" The black mamba replied as it slithered towards Draco.
"Reducto! Reducto!" Draco said, trying to destroy the approaching snake.
"$: Dodge the attack. :$" Harry ordered. The black mamba easily dodged the Draco spells. The Black Mamba lunged at Draco.
"REDUCTO!" Draco cast. He finally managed to hit the black mamba, sending blood and guts all over the place. Harry stood there and gave Draco slow applause.
"Good job Draco. It took five minutes, but you managed to finally hit something." Harry said. Something in Draco snapped. Anger and a desire to destroy Harry took over. Draco pointed his wand at Harry.
"Fiendfyre!" Draco cast. Crimson fire spewed out of Draco's wand. Everyone gasped upon seeing the crimson fire. Kaien and Artoria recognized the fire. Artoria saw the fire used in Fuyuki.
"How did they managed to create a spell to summon Hellfire?" Kaien thought. The cursed flames let out a roar, as it shaped itself like a lion. The crimson flame lion charged towards Harry.
"Aqua Eructo!" Harry cast. A large geyser of water shot out of Harry's wand towards the fire. The fire let out a roar as it was hit by the geyser of water. Harry was shocked when the magical fire devoured the water. The cursed fire raced towards Harry, following the geyser of water. The crimson flame lion pounced at Harry. Harry stood there in shock, not sure what to do. Kaien grabbed Harry and pulled him to the side, dodging the attack. The crimson lion landed on the floor and turned to face them. The crimson lion growled at them and began to charge at them. Everyone watched in horror, expecting Kaien and Harry to die.
"Stop," Kaien ordered. Everyone was shocked as the crimson lion stopped midstep. "Go back where you belong," Kaien commanded. The crimson lion let out a roar before it disappeared. Everyone was shocked to see what happened.
"I knew it! He is a Dark Wizard." Dumbledore thought. Kaien turned to the two opponents of the duel.
"Do you give up or are we continuing?" Kaien asked. Severus looked at his tired godson.
"Do you wish to continue?"
"I…do," Draco said, despite being magically exhausted.
"You're too exhausted." Professor Snape argued.
"I'm no-" Draco fell unconscious. Kaien turned to Professor Flitwick.
"I do believe Mr. Malfoy is now unconscious," Kaien said. Professor Flitwick turned to Professor Snape.
"Second Snape, do wish to continue the duel." Professor Snape stood there, thinking about the situation.
"Hm… Draco wants to continue this duel. But if I switch with him then Potter has the right to switch with his second." Professor Snape considered. Suddenly he felt a familiar tap on his Occlumency Barrier. He recognized who it was and briefly lowered them. "What is it, Headmaster?"
"Severus, I need you to test him. See how much Dark Magic he knows." Dumbledore said. It didn't take much to figure out who Dumbledore was referring to.
"Be as it may Headmaster, he easily defeated you and the other heads. There is no doubt that he will defeat me."
"I understand that Severus, but we must figure out how 'dark' he is. He may become a Dark Lord and threaten everything." Severus sighed.
"Very well headmaster," Severus said as he raised his Occlumency Barrier. Professor Snape turned to Professor Flitwick.
"I wish to continue the duel." He said. Professor Flitwick nodded his head. He turned to Harry and Kaien.
"Mr. Potter, Second Snape wishes to continue the duel. Do you wish to continue or switch with your second?" Harry turned to Kaien.
"Do you believe that you can win against him?" Kaien asked. Harry thought about it for a few moments before shook his head.
"Very well then, I will take over," Kaien replied as he stepped forward.
"The duel will resume on my command." Professor Flitwick said. "Seconds, draw your wand." Professor Snape summoned his respective wand from his holster. "The duel will begin in 3…2…1…Start!"
Professor Snape began to silently cast a multitude of spells at Kaien. Many were shocked to see him cast so many spells. Kaien stared at the incoming wave of spells. Kaien calmly began to use his hands swot the spells back at Professor Snape. Professor Snape adjusted his aim to cancel out the incoming spells. This duel began to look similar to the duel against Madam Maxime and Professor Karkaroff. Kaien covered his mouth with one of his hands, trying to stop a yawn.
"He-he thinks this is a game to him?" Professor Snape thought. Him seeing Kaien acting carelessly; joking about the duel reminded him of feeling. A feeling he hasn't felt in years. The feeling of being looked down upon. He remembered the last time he felt it…back in Hogwarts. He glanced over to see James Potter standing there proud. Angry took control over him as he pointed his wand to Harry.
"Sectumsempra." Professor Snape cast, slashing his wand towards Harry.
"That cheating bastard." Kaien thought as he shunpō'ed in front of Harry and took the curse in the chest. Kaien was surprised when the curse cut his chest. A drop of blood leaked out of the cut. Kaien dabbed the drop of blood from the wound and stared at it. Everyone was shocked for different reasons.
"Kaien-sensei got injured from a duel." The majority of the students thought. In all his duels at Hogwarts, he was never injured from a spell.
"Snape used that dark spell on him and he looks fine!" Many of the teaching staff thought. During Snape's Death Eater days, that spell was one of his well-known curses he would use to his foes.
"He-he wasn't affected by the spell?" Snape thought. He knew the spell is deadly when perform and targeted correctly, which he did in his anger.
"About time someone managed to scratch me," Kaien commented. He glanced at Artoria, who looked bored out of her mind. "It has been what four months since we came to Britain?"
"Indeed." She replied. Kaien glanced at Professor Snape. Kaien cracked a smile.
"Congratulations Professor Snape. Looks like you finally made me try." Kaien said. Everyone looked shocked at Kaien's comment.
"He wasn't trying?" Everyone thought. Kaien summoned Mysteria, the wand, to his hand. He began to write runes in the air. Professor Snape cast spells at Kaien. Only for Kaien to use his left hand to swat the spells away. Everyone watched at what Kaien was doing. The nearby students turned to Professor Babbling, the Ancient Runes teacher, for an explanation.
"In old history texts, it said that runes were used in the air and on the ground to cast spells and perform rituals before the use of a wand and the Latin-based spell system we use today." She said. Kaien finished his spells and swiped the runes with his wand. The runes turned to face Professor Snape. The runes glowed and a barrage of elemental based spells shot towards Professor Snape. His eyes widen as he tried to dodge the barrage of spells. They all watched as Professor Snape tried his best against the attack. Slowly he began to get hit by the attacks. He fought bravely before he collapsed from the damage. Kaien ended the attack.
"The duel is over. I repeat. The duel is over." Professor Flitwick said. "The winner of this duel is Mr. Potter and Mr. Shiba." Professor Flitwick said as he lowered the dueling barrier. Madam Pomphrey rushed to the scene and took Professor Snape to the Medical Wing. Everyone stood there in amazement and shock about what they just witnessed. Kaien ignored their shocked expressions and walked off stage. He turned to his students.
"See you back in the room," Kaien said as he left the Great Hall. Artoria nodded her head to them and silently left.
Time Skip: December 31: Little Hangleton Graveyard
The moon was barely out this night. In the graveyard was a cauldron bubbling. Beside the bubbling cauldron was a table with a small baby like figure holding a timepiece in its hand.
"We have one shot of this Wormtail," Voldemort said. A chubby adult man was adding another ingredient to the cauldron. The surface began not only to bubble but to send out fiery sparks, as though it were on fire. The steam thickening as the seconds went by.
"Hurry!" The whole surface of the water was alight with sparks now. It might have been encrusted with diamonds.
"It is ready. Master." Wormtail grabbed the small baby like figure and dropped him in the cauldron. Voldemort landed with a soft thump at the bottom of the cauldron. Wormtail raised his wand, closed his eyes, and spoke to the night.
"Bone of the father, unknowingly given, you will renew your son!" One of the nearby graves rumbled as a fine trickle of dust rose into the air and fell into the cauldron. The diamond surface of the water broke and hissed; it sent sparks in all directions and turned a vivid, poisonous-looking blue. Wormtail pulled a long, thin, shining silver dagger from inside his cloak. His voice broke into petrified sobs.
"Flesh - of the servant - w-willingly given - you will - revive - your master. " He stretched his right hand out in front of him - the hand with the missing finger. He gripped the dagger very tightly in his left hand and swung it upward, cutting off his right hand. The right hand fell into the cauldron. The poisonous-looking blue transformed into a burning bright red. Wormtail was gasping and moaning with agony. He stood up and pulled out two vials of blood. One vial had the blood of Alastor Moody while the other vial had the blood of the comatose Frank Longbottom.
"B-blood of the enemy . . . forcibly taken … you will. . . resurrect your foe." Wormtail said as he poured the vials into the cauldron. The bright red turned into a blinding white. Wormtail, his job done, dropped to his knees beside the cauldron, then slumped sideways and lay on the ground, cradling the bleeding stump of his arm, gasping and sobbing. The cauldron was simmering, sending its diamond sparks in all directions, so blindingly bright that it turned all else to velvety blackness. And then, suddenly, the sparks emanating from the cauldron were extinguished. A surge of white steam billowed thickly from the cauldron. Slowly an outline of a tall skeletally thin man rose out of the cauldron.
"Robe me," said the high, cold voice from behind the steam, and Wormtail, sobbing and moaning, still cradling his mutilated arm, scrambled to pick up the black robes from the ground, got to his feet, reached up, and pulled them onehanded over his master's head. The steam subsided to reveal his skin is whiter than a skull, with wide, livid scarlet eyes and a nose that was flat as a snake with slits for nostrils.
"My Lord . . ." he choked, "my Lord . . . you promised . . . you did promise ..."
"Hold out your arm," said Voldemort lazily.
"Oh Master . . . thank you, Master ..." He extended the bleeding stump, but Voldemort laughed again. "The other arm, Wormtail."
"Master, please... please ..." Voldemort bent down and pulled out Wormtail's left arm; he forced the sleeve of Wormtail's robes up past his elbow, revealing the Dark Mark.
"It is back," he said softly, "they will all have noticed it... and now, we shall see ... now we shall know ..." He pressed his long white forefinger to the brand on Wormtail's arm, sending a signal through the Dark Mark.
"How many will be brave enough to return when they feel it?" he whispered; his gleaming red eyes fixed upon the stars. "And how many will be foolish enough to stay away?" Voldemort stood there and waited. He watched as a few Death Eaters apparated to the graveyard. One of the Death Eaters fell to his knees, crawled toward Voldemort, and kissed the hem of his black robes.
"Master . . . Master " he murmured. The remaining ones followed the first Death Eater, kissing his robes. The few that showed up stood up and formed a circle around the ritual site.
"It seems we lost quite a few members," Voldemort said, looking at the few Death Eaters that showed up. No one replied. "It matters not if they are dead or betrayed the cause, for they will come…" Voldemort said
"My lord." One of the Death Eater said.
"Yes Nott?" Voldemort replied.
"I offer you my estate as our base of operations." He offered
"Very well," Voldemort said. "Now then, this is what I want you all to do…" Voldemort ordered.
The book diverges! Now then, allow me to explain my decisions for pairings. Harry with Hermione and Daphne is honesty my favorite HP pairings.
