Chapter 7: The Masters Amphibious Plan Part One

Emotions of shock, worry, and surprise were all over Marcy Wu's face after hearing General Yunan's previous statement. After about a month of silence from the ruler of Newtopia, King Andrias had finally communicated something back that being wanting the Doctor but what for? Why this very moment of all times?

"King Andrias wants to see the Doctor?" exclaimed Marcy. "Right now?!"

"Yes, that is correct Master Marcy," answered Yunan. "He requested that I the great General Yunan, Scourge of the Sand Wars, Defeater of Ragnar the Wretched, and the youngest newt to ever achieve the rank of General in the great Newtopian Army escort him to Newtopia personally."

Before the Flipwart champion could get another word out the Gallifreyan then intervened. "Oh of course! I would be delighted to meet him!"

"You would?!" exclaimed Marcy before noticing that Yunan was giving her a puzzled look. "I mean yeah of course because after all, you did save all of Amphibia so you would logically want to meet its current ruler."

"Precisely my dear," replied the Doctor before moving towards his TARDIS. "Well let's not waste any more time, we better get a move on."

"Wait a minute!" said Marcy, stopping the old man in his tracks. "What about Anne and-"

The Newtopian girl then stopped mid-sentence then remembered that Sasha and Grime were with the group. If Yunan was to find out that the two fugitives who defeated her are here, surely she would turn them over to King Andrias. However, the Newtopian General quickly caught on to her weird behavior.

"Anne and whom, Master Marcy?" questioned Yunan, brow raised. "Is there something wrong or are you not telling me something?"

Snapping out of her thoughts, Marcy then tried to think of a logical answer that would please the newt. "No, no, not at all!" she quickly blurted out. "I meant to say the Anne and Plantar's, I just forgot to mention them!" Marcy then gave the General a sheepish look and a forced smile.

"Really, is that so?" asked Yunan, staring at the Marcy.

"Yeah!" said Marcy who nodded nervously. "Honest!"

For what felt like a long time while in fact had been a few seconds, there was tension surrounding the newt and the human. Marcy was sweating bullets, hoping that Yunan would believe her as the two became allies over her time stuck in Amphibia. After a few more seconds, the Newtopian General then shrugged.

"Fair enough," said Yunan returning a more friendly face. "You have been a great help to Newtopia and its people, so I will trust your word."

Yunan then turned to the Time Lord. "Now Doctor, we must hurry back to Newtopia at once," she said. "King Andrias is very eager to see you."

"I bet he is," replied the Doctor as he walked to his TARDIS. "You don't mind if we take my ship?"

The Newtopian General then looked at the time capsule in question. "You're blue box?" she questioned. "You sure it can fit both of us and is it faster than flying via a sparrow?"

"Don't worry my dear," said the Doctor as he opened the door. "There is plenty of room for the both of us."

Marcy then watched as the General gave a whistle and her sparrow then flew away back to Newtopia. She then saw Yunan enter the Doctor's TARDIS and then she herself made her way to the time machine. The Taiwanese girl then was about to enter the console room but was stopped by the Time Lord.

"Ah, ah, ah Ms. Wu," spoke the Doctor polity. "Remember what General Yunan said before."

The Flipwart champion then remembered what the blonde newt had said earlier. King Andrias himself had requested the Doctor to come to Newtopia and not her nor Anne or even Sasha in fact. Did he want to merely have a chat with the Time Lord or did he want to use his brilliant alien mind to conquer all of Amphibia? So many questions, theories, and possibilities ran through the girl's head and this worried her greatly.

As the thirteen-year-old continued to stress about the situation, she then felt a warm feeling on her shoulder. Marcy then saw it was a hand on her shoulder as it was the Doctor who was kneeling down to her level. He then gave her a warm smile which did calm the Newtopian girl down a little.

"I understand you are stressed about my well-being for which I am grateful," said the Doctor with a gentle tone. "But everything will be fine."

"You sure?" asked Marcy. "I know you save planets all the time it's just that-"

The Doctor then shushed her. "I have everything under control, my dear," he said calmly. "After all, if I didn't have a plan then I wouldn't have come quietly. Everything will be fine and you won't have to worry about a thing"

The Time Lord then reached into his pockets and rummaged for a bit. He then took out a small device that look vastly different from the tools that the Gallifreyan had previously used and handed it to her. The Newtopian ranger then curiously inspected the device which was a small silver rectangle with a red button on the side.

"Is this some kind of alien communication device?" asked Marcy curiously.

"Indeed my child," replied the Doctor as he stood up. "A cleric communicator to be exact, so if you have any problems or I am in need of help we can communicate to each other."

"Cool, thanks Doctor!" exclaimed Marcy, holding the technology with excitement. "Wait you got this from clerics? Like DnD ones? Is there a DnD planet out there?!"

The Doctor then sighed. "No, it's a lot more complicated that my dear," he said. "A lot more than you think."

Before Marcy could say another thing, she then heard voices coming from the entrance of the third temple. It was Anne and the others who had finally caught up to them. Not wanting Yunan to see Grime and Sasha she then quickly pushed the Doctor into the TARDIS and closed the door.

"I'll tell the others what's going on," said Marcy. "You just get Yunan to Newtopia and away from here."

From the window of the door, she could see a thumbs up from the Time Lord. Marcy then ran from the TARDIS's current location to the entrance of the third temple. Running in, she then caught up with Anne, Sasha, Grim, and the Plantar's.

"Oh hey Marbles," said Anne who had stopped talking to Sasha. "What's the rush?"

"Hey, where is the old guy?" asked Sasha who had noticed the Time Lord was absent.

Marcy then caught her breath and started to explain. "About that….."

Right now, the great General of Newtopia was speechless at what she was seeing before her own eyes. From the outside of the Doctor's so-called ship, she was expecting a tight fit inside for both of them traveling back to Newtopia but boy was she wrong. Seeing the inside of the Doctor's blue box made her jaw drop as nothing from what little information Newtopia had regarding the Doctor said anything like this. Hell, even his appearance was different from what was originally described but those descriptions were from thousands-year-old texts so maybe someone had misinterpreted a detail of the Time Lords appearance?

Yunan then began hearing a hum across the room and assumed it was from the hexagon structure in the center of the room. It sounded so alien and rhythmic, almost mesmerizing to the newt's ears like no other sound she had heard in her life. It was also blocking out sounds from the background as she continued to listen to the humming. She then heard a snapping noise right in her ear and turned to see the Doctor next to her.

"Are you alright General?" asked the Doctor with almost a mocking tone. "It seems that you have frozen up."

The Scourge of the Sand Wars then regained her composure as she then stood at ease. "No, not at all Doctor," she lied. "I was expecting something like this just not on this scale."

"I'm surprised General," chuckled the Doctor. "It's not every day a newt like yourself witnesses transdimensional engineering on display."

"No not really," replied Yunan. "So you can get us to Newtopia Castle quickly and safely in your vessel?"

"TARDIS, my dear General," said the Doctor, walking up to the controls. "And for your information yes I can at the utmost speed, faster than any avian you possess with no problems whatsoever."

The young newt General then watched as the Time Lord then looked at a map (probably left by Marcy) and studied it. After looking at it for a few seconds, he then started to press some buttons on a hexagonal console before pulling a lever. The room then began to shake, catching the blonde newt off guard and almost losing her balance as she tried to keep on her feet. A strange sound began to emanate around the room as Yunan watched the column in the center of the console begin to move up and down.

"There," said the Doctor as he pressed another button. "We should be at Newtopia in several minutes."

Yunan then saw the Time Lord walk away from the console and towards her which she then returned at ease. "Very good Doctor," she said. "King Andrias will be pleased with your arrival."

"Oh, will he now?" replied the Doctor, giving an amused look. "So may I ask does the great King of Newtopia just want a conversation with me or does he need me for something else?"

"Unfortunately, I cannot answer that question," responded Yunan. "All King Andrias told me was to bring you to Newtopia Castle with the utmost speed."

"Is that so?" said the Doctor as he came closer to her. "Or is there something you're not telling me?"

The Time Lord then began to stare at her, deep into her eyes. The Newtopian General was puzzled by what the old man was trying to accomplish by staring at her and thought nothing of it. Then after a few seconds, General Yunan then began to feel funny with her starting to become mesmerized by the Doctor's blue eyes. Yunan tried to look away from him in an attempt to stop whatever the alien was doing to her.

"Look into my eyes," spoke the Doctor in a calm yet sinister voice. "Look deep into my eyes General Yunan."

The Doctor's voice then began to echo inside her head, beckoning and calling to her to continue looking into his eyes. Soon, the Time Lords voice began to take over her thoughts as she could no longer stop staring into his eyes. The rest of her body then started to become numb as it submitted to whatever the Doctor was doing to her, causing her consciousness to fade. As her mind began to black out, she then heard the Time Lord whisper some final words into her ear.

"I am the Master and you will obey me."

In the throne room of Newtopia Castle, King Andrias Leviathan sat on his massive throne, thinking to himself. A lot of things had transpired in amphibia over the past few months with the arrival of three human creatures from the planet called Earth. How they ended up stranded in Amphibia did not surprise the ruler of Newtopia as they had used the Calamity Box which was thought to be lost after his former friend Leif had stolen it. After thousands of years of waiting, he could finally set in motion his faster's original plan of concurring the multiverse with the hivemind known as the Core at his side.

However, there was a prophecy foretold that three stars would from another world and vanquish the Core, ruining their plans for domination but the hivemind had thought up a solution not to make this a reality. While the machine itself was made of the greatest minds of Newtopia, it need an intelligent host so I could expand its knowledge further and one of the humans Marcy Wu fit the bill perfectly. The newt however originally showed hesitance against this idea as he had somewhat become fond of the girl over the past months. She had helped improve the kingdom greatly by introducing new ideas and systems while her bright yet smart attitude couldn't help but make him smile but then again, he had let his previous attachment to his former friends Leif and Barrel blind him leading to the music box being lost. He could not allow anything to distract him from his goal.

There is no going back now, Thought King Andrias as he sat. Not after everything I have sacrificed.

Everything was going according to plan but then some shocking information was brought to him. A few weeks ago, King Andrias had received a message from Marcy that the legendary hero who had saved Amphibia centuries ago known to most as the "Doctor" had returned and was in the town known as Wartwood. The news of the Time Lords return shocked King Andrias greatly as he had not expected the alien to return after all these years of absence but decided to inform his master of this new revelation. This turned out to be great news to the Core who demanded that King Andrias bring the Time Lord before it, now wanting the Doctor's mind instead of Marcy Wu's (which did relieve the salamander a little). He then dispatched his loyal soldier, Yunan to retrieve the Doctor and bring him to Newtopia with the utmost speed.

As King Andrias sat waiting, the door to the mighty throne room opened and entered his advisor Lady Olivia who was being escorted by two guards. Olivia's family had served him well over the years, each generation being his royal advisor with Olivia succeeding her own mother when she had passed on. Her entrance into the throne made the thousand-year-old newt hope for good news as Olivia bowed to greet him.

"Lady Olivia so nice to see you!" bellowed King Andrias happily. "Has Yunan returned from her assignment yet?"

"No," said Olivia. "General Yunan has not reported back yet sire."

The King of Newtopia's face then changed to that of disappointment. "Oh," he said, slumped into his massive throne. "Have there been any reports on her status?"

"Not at all my lord," responded Olivia. "Not to be disrespectful sire but do you truly believe that the Doctor has returned or that he even exists?"

"Oh, I know so Lady Olivia," spoke King Andrias in a low voice. "The Doctor is indeed not a myth but in fact real and has returned to Amphibia once again."

All of a sudden, a strange noise started to emanate within the room with small gusts of winds blowing around, making the various cloth's flutter around where they were hung. King Andrias, Lady Olivia, and the guards present then started to see a faint rectangular shape start to blur in and out like some sort of ghostly entity trying to phase into reality. The rectangular object then started to become more clear as the strange sound grew louder with each beat. King Andrias then looked to see Lady Olivia with her mouth wide open in shock as her words before were proven instantly wrong.

"It cannot be!" said Olivia, still shocked at what she was seeing.

"Oh but it is my dear," said King Andrias with an impressed look. "It seems that dear Yunan has completed her mission."

The strange sound emanating from the object then stopped as it had fully formed itself inside the throne room with Lady Olivia and the guards present looking in awe. It was a blue box with white text reading "Police Public Call Box" complete with a lamp of some sort at the top. As the police box's door then began to slowly creep open, the royal guards in the room then raised their spears as they were unsure of what was going to come out but wanted to be ready to protect their ruler if necessary. The door then opened itself further and then out stepped out General Yunan who was rubbing her head with a dazed and confused look on her face. The guards lowered their weapons but still kept them at the ready as Lady Olivia then rushed over to the newt General.

"General, are you alright?" asked Olivia, concerned at the newt's current state. "Are you injured or ill? Do you need a doctor?"

"There is no need for a doctor!" said a voice inside the blue box, making everyone in the room (minus Yunan) jump in surprise.

The guards then quickly regained composure as they raised their spears again, ready for what was to come out. Then to their shock, another human-like creature similar to that of Anne Boonchuy and Marcy Wu stepped out of the door. This one looked to be an elderly male who was well dressed, unlike the two previous humans who had arrived in Amphibia and seemed to give off a wise yet calm demeanor.

"For I am the Doctor." announced the elderly human. "The original you might say."

"You're the Doctor?!" exclaimed Olivia, who was supporting Yunan from falling over.

King Andrias then stood up from his mighty throne and he stood at his true height, towering over everyone present in the room. He then walked down from his throne and approached where the Time Lord was currently standing. The giant salamander then kneeled down to address the smaller humanoid.

"So what young Marcy told me was indeed true," spoke King Andrias as he held out his hand to shake. "Newtopia is honored to have you here once again."

"The honor is mine, oh mighty King Andrias," greeted the Doctor, shaking the newt's hand. "Dear Ms. Wu has told me so much about you."

"I bet she has," replied King Andrias as he let go of the Time Lords hand. "Anyways, what was the new look? From what is been described of you from ancient texts, you looked um…"

"Different?" finished the Doctor, nonchalantly. "Regeneration tends to do that for Gallifreyans such as myself."

The king of Newtopia then raised his brow. "Regeneration?" he asked curiously. "Your species has the ability to change their appearance at will?"

"Indeed," responded the Doctor. "After all, it does get rather boring after a few hundred years traveling with the same looks so I like to change things up."

"Fascinating," said King Andrias, amazed at this information. "I do dig the new you. Gives you more of a mature and wise look."

"Why thank you King Andrias,' replied the Doctor. "I appreciate your compliments but I feel that a simple chat is not the reason you summoned me here."

Before King Andrias could get another word out to the Time Lord, a faint groan was heard. The two elders then turned to see General Yunan (still supported by Lady Olivia with two guards by her side) slowly coming back to her senses. As soon as she became aware of her surroundings, General Yunan then got up and quickly stood to attention.

"Your majesty!" said Yunan, giving a salute. "I have successfully completed my mission and brought the Doctor here to Newtopia as requested."

"At ease General," replied King Andrias. "You have done well Yunan as I expected from my best soldier no doubt?"

The Newtopian General then as ordered then stood at ease. "No sir!" she said, pulling a dramatic pose. "For I, General Yunan, Scourge of the Sand Wars, Defeater of Ragnar the Wretched, and-"

But before General Yunan could get another word out, she then began to look dizzy again and started to sway before starting to collapse. Lady Olivia however was quick to catch the General before she could make contact with the floor, falling into her arms. With the help of another guard in the room, they hoisted Yunan back onto her feet as the blonde began to rub her forehead like she had some form of headache. Lady Olivia then turned her attention from General Yunan to the Doctor.

"Is this your doing?" questioned Olivia, suspicious of the Time Lord.

"Well technically no," replied the Doctor. "Due to how my ship travels in and out of reality itself, most first-timers will experience things such as headaches due to mass displacement. I promise you that it's not permeant."

"Mass displacement?" asked Olivia, confused at the Doctor's strange words. "So what was your ship doing?"

"Precisely my dear," responded the Doctor.

The Gallifreyan then approached the aqua newt as she gently let go of Yunan (who was able to stand straight at that point). "I apologies for my nativity of not informing you about all this," he said. "This must be a lot of information to take in for.. how should I put it... um less technologically developed species?"

"That's one way to put it," replied Olivia. "I assume Master Marcy has told you all about me?"

"She has said a lot about you, Lady Olivia," said the Doctor. "How you were her guide to Newtopia while making sure she stayed out of harm's way."

"Indeed," said Olivia, agreeing with the Time Lord. "Master Marcy does have a habit of being clumsy despite her gifted mind."

Before the Time Lord could reply to Olivia's comment when he was interrupted by King Andrias. "Which she has put to good use for Newtopia and its people," he said. "Helping its infrastructure and architecture grow expectantly due to her brilliant mind."

"True," responded the Doctor. "You don't see thirteen-year-olds using alligators to reengineer an entire city's sewer system no do you?"

"Right you are Doctor!" said King Andrias, cheerfully. "But we are getting off-topic, you wanted to know why I asked for your presence correct?"

Suddenly, the Doctor's face then changed from nonchalant to that of a more serious one when asked this. "Yes, I was indeed wondering that," he replied, raising a brow. "I assume you need my help with something?"

"Indeed I do," said King Andrias, as he turned to face his guards. "I wish to be alone."

The guards then saluted the king of Newtopia before leaving the room one by one out the door. Very soon, only Lady Olivia, Yunan and King Andrias and the Doctor were left in the throne room. King Andrias then turned to face the two remaining newts to address them, with both being puzzled by his recent instruction.

"I have no need for your presence," said King Andrias. "You may go."

"Is that a wise decision your majesty?" asked Olivia, hesitant at this decision. "It is proper protocol to have you guarded at all times, is it not?"

King Andrias then rolled his eyes in annoyance, not taking her words seriously. "Relax Olivia," he said, giving a lazy hand wave. "I am perfectly capable of defending myself and besides why would the Doctor of all people have any intentions to harm me?"

"Yes, true," replied Olivia. "But-"

"You do realize that I am standing right here?" said the Doctor, who heard everything as he indeed right next to them. "Look, I wholeheartedly understand your doubts my dear but I have no intention of destroying you or your kingdom. Besides, I have done nothing to harm young Marcy when I was with her."

Yunan then spoke up in the Time Lords defense. "What he says is indeed true," she said. "When I located the Doctor, he was with Master Marcy at the time and did nothing to harm or imply it towards her."

Still unsure, Lady Olivia then tried to protest again. "Yes but what about-"

"But what, Lady Olivia?" interrupted King Andrias, towering over the smaller newt. "Are you doubting General Yunan who you have known ever since you were young eft no doubt?"

The aqua newt then looked down to the floor, contemplating what King Andrias had just said to her. After a few minutes, Olivia finally gave her answer. "No, your majesty," she responded. "I apologize for my behavior. Yunan and I will leave you in peace."

"No need for apologies my dear," said the Doctor, sympathetically. "As I said before, I completely understand why you are unsure of my presence."

"That is very kind of you Doctor," replied Olivia. "I hope you can sort out whatever is troubling King Andrias."

The Time Lord then gave a friendly smile. "Oh, I think I will."

Lady Olivia and General Yunan then left the room, leaving only the Doctor and King Andrias in the room together. The royal newt then lead the Doctor to the end of the room where he pulled a lever disguised as a newt statue which revealed a tunnel. King Andrias then took the glowing piece of coral the statue was holding to use as a torch as the Doctor then look down at the flight of stairs that lead into darkness.

"So I presume the problem you asked me to fix is under your castle?" asked the Doctor, curiously. "You mind telling me what it is?"

"It's um.. complicated," said King Andrias, starting his descent down the stairs. "It'll be a lot easier if I showed you."

After hearing this, the Time Lord then raised a brow, now interested in the mystery ahead. "Oh now that is interesting," he said.

The Doctor then followed King Andrias down the stairs, past all the many paintings of his presumed ancestors located in the tunnel reflecting Newtopia's royal history. One thing that was common in each of the paintings is that each newt wore the same crown on their head. As they walked further, the Doctor then began to admire the surroundings and symbols carved on the walls.

"This is quite the place you have down here," said the Doctor. "Very ominous and mysterious might I say."

"Why thank you," replied King Andrias. "You are the first other than myself to journey down here."

"I am greatly honored by this King Andrias," said the Doctor as they continued onwards. "Just curious but how far down are we?"

"Just beneath the castle," responded King Andrias. "My father and his ancestors had this all built thousands of years ago."

Suddenly, a strange sound emanated from in front of them, catching the Doctor off guard while King Andrias seemed to be unfazed. Then from the darkness, mysterious ghost-like creatures of all shapes and sizes appeared as they floated toward the two present. The creatures at first took little to no interest in the salamander who they were all too familiar with but when they saw that he had brought someone or something new with him. That's when the creatures took interest in the Doctor floating all around him in curiosity while the Time Lord stared at them in fascination.

"What are these particular odd creatures?" asked the Doctor, examining the ghostly interties.

"Shadowfish," replied King Andrias. "They have been down here for years."

One of the recently dubbed Shadowfish then came closer to the Doctor, now face to face with him. The Time Lord then slowly held out his hand as a gesture of good faith in which the Shadowfish began to run against as it seemed to enjoy it. However, this was short-lived as King Andrias shooed them all away from the Doctor (much to his disappointment).

"Now why did you have to go do that?" asked the Doctor, pouting.

"You were getting distracted," responded King Andrias. "Besides, we're here."

The King of Newtopia then pointed to reveal a dimly lit room in front of them with gold accents, though the end of the room was covered in darkness. The two then entered with King Andrias hanging the torch in a nearby cylinder while the Doctor walked into the room and looked around. The Time Lord marveled at the visible ancient writing that covered all the walls and floors.

"Well now this is quite a hidey-hole," said the Doctor. "So I presume this is the place you want me to fix?"

"Correct my dear Doctor," replied King Andrias, lowly. "And you will help us."

The Doctor then looked at the salamander with a puzzled look. "What do you mean us? Is there someone else-"

However, before the Time Lord could get another word out, a metal claw suddenly came out of the darkness and grabbed him. The claw then dragged the Doctor towards the darkness as he struggled to get out of its grip even beating on it but with no effect whatsoever. When the claw had dragged the Doctor close enough towards the darkness, it then began to light up to reveal hundreds of eyes that were attached to a giant spherical robotic body. The eyes then all stared directly into the Gallifreyans before a chair rose from the middle of the room.

"What is the meaning of this?!" cried the Doctor, struggling and squirming. "Put me down this instant!"

"I'm afraid we can't do that Doctor," said King Andrias. "My lord is in need of your services."

After hearing this, the Doctor stopped struggling for a second. "My service?" he questioned before coming to the horrifying conclusion. "You want to put your mind on that… thing?!"

"Oh so far yet so close," replied King Andrias, smiling sinisterly. "The Core not only wants your mind but your body as well."

"The Core?" questioned the Doctor. "That's what that mechanical monstrosity is?"

"Indeed," replied King Andrias. "A collection of the greatest minds from Newtopia's long history turned into a unified collective. Impressive isn't it?"

The Doctor however gave no reply back to the royal newt who just shrugged before the Core placed the Time Lord in the chair which then strapped him down tightly. As the Doctor tried to get himself out of the chair's restraints, something from the top of the room began to slowly descend towards his head. When the mysterious object got closer, it was revealed to be some sort of helmet with four branched gill-like horns protruding from the sides and a cord connected to the back of it. Seeing the helmet made Gallifreyan struggle and squirm even more, with fear written all over his face.

"At long last," spoke the Core with its legion of voices echoing out. "After thousands of years of waiting, we will finally have the mind and body of a Time Lord! Infinite knowledge now at our disposal!"

"Indeed my lord," said King Andrias. "Don't forget about the multiverse."

Hearing this, the Core then rolled its multiple eyes in annoyance, choosing to disregard the newt as the helmet lowered itself onto the Doctor's head. The Time Lord continued to squirm and struggle in vain while the hive mind collective began the process of downloading itself into his mind. This caused the Doctor to scream in agony with bright red sparks of electricity being generated around the chair and helmet as King Andrias watched on. The Doctor's body began to jerk violently like some kind of rag doll as the collective of minds began to further access the Time Lords mind.

However much to the Core and King Andrias shock, the Doctor's body suddenly exploded into a white paste-like substance that splattered across the chair and even on some parts of the walls in the room. The hive mind immediately stopped its download, now confused at what just happened to its victim. King Andrias just stood in confusion at what just happened.

"What happened?!" questioned King Andrias who was just as confused.

"Wouldn't you like to know?" echoed the Doctor's voice. "It's pretty obvious that I have outplayed you both."

The King of Newtopia then looked behind himself, expecting the Time Lord to be right there but there was nothing. The Core then used its multiple eyes and began to search the room to find the source of where the Doctor's voice was coming from while King Andrias quickly regained his composure. King Andrias then drew out his laser sword and held it in a defensive position as it glowed in bright yellow energy as he too joined the search for the Gallifreyan wherever he was.

"Getting warmer Andrias," said the Doctor's voice, mockingly. "I know you can do it."

Both the Core and King Andrias then turned to hear the Doctor's voice had come from the entrance and slowly walked (or crawled in the hive mind's case) towards it with caution. The collective of minds then prompted the King of Newtopia to step forward and check the entrance's stairs outside the room but when he looked around no one was there. King Andrias then checked the ceiling but the Time Lord was not there either which frustrated him.

"Why don't you come out Doctor?" said Andrias, lowly. "Are you afraid that-"

*BUZZZZZZ*

A blast of yellow energy suddenly hit King Andrias hand and caused him to scream in pain as he drop his sword to the ground. Straight after the first shot, another blast of yellow energy then hit the newt in the right leg, causing him to collapse onto the ground as he clutched his scorched wounds and cursed to the heavens. The Core then turned to see that the source of the blasts had come from the corner of the room but before it could investigate it then began to spark and fizzle. It then began to sway a little before collapsing onto the ground and began screeching in pain, rolling around like some sort of caged animal as its eyes flickered from its normal orange to a more shade of green.

"What is hapP̸͔̭͔̭͆͝E̶͖͊͛́̈͐̌ͅn̶̯̈́̇̉͝Ī̸͓̮̱̝̂͑̚̚͠Ǹ̷̢͉̘͓͉̾́̕ģ̵̰̥̫̒̒́̽͝?̶̡͈͎̤͌!̴̼͎̞͚̟̌͋̂" screamed the Core, struggling to get the words out. "What h̵̨̨͕̙̞̺̏A̴̯͎̞̦̰̥̔̑̈v̷͖̟̣͝Ȩ̴͌͐͘ you done t̵͙̜̻̗̜̆̀̋͋̓Ŏ̸̢̪̤̫͇̃͘ us?!"

"Well that is quite simple," said the Doctor's voice. "I've won."

Then from the corner of the room, a part of it began to flicker as it then revealed to be the Doctor with a strange device in his hand with what looked like an old Cloak-Bot holding him. King Andrias (who was still in pain) then stared as the Cloak-Bot let the Doctor down to the ground so he could address the two. Something that the newt noticed is that the Cloak-Bot with the Gallifreyan looked vastly different from the standard ones from thousands of years ago. For starters, its paint job was completely black with strange logo's on them (presumably the language of the Time Lord) calved in silver with a strange headdress rather than its standard horn and Instead of the two red eyes, it had one glowing blue eye that stares at the salamander. King Andrias stared back at it before noticing the Doctor walk toward him with a look of smugness written on his face.

"For a being your age I was expecting more a challenge," said the Doctor, picking up the newt's sword. "Guess I overestimated you. Really I shouldn't have been surprised since every wretched amphibian on this mud ball planet is a drooling primitive."

"How?" rasped out King Andrias.

"A simple bait and switch," replied the Doctor, tossing the sword away to his Cloak-Bot. "After Marcy and General Yunan so generously gave me information on you, I knew meeting you personally would be a risk so I sent a flesh avatar in my place to greet you. I followed you down here with my robot and well the rest is history."

The Doctor then looked away from King Andrias to see the source of the screaming to see it was the Core. It rolled around on the ground as it screamed and roared in agony with its eyes still flickering between green and red like something was taking over it. Upon seeing this, the Time Lord walked away from the downed newt and towards the collection of minds.

"What have you done?" questioned King Andrias.

However, the Doctor ignored him as he now stood in front of the hivemind. "A cyber planner?" he said, looking amused as the Core continued to scream in pain. "Interesting but not expected."

"What do you mean expected?!" shouted King Andrias. "Answer me, Doctor!"

Upon hearing this, the Doctor then turned away from the Core and directly at King Andrias. "Please you can stop calling me that," he said, rolling his eyes in annoyance. "I rather not be associated with that delusional fool."

"Then who are you?" asked King Andrias, weakly.

The Time Lord then kneeled down towards King Andrias to address him. "I am the Master and you will obey me."

Author's note: Here is the next chapter. Sorry to cut it short as it was supposed to be longer but I have decided to cut it into two parts. Stay tuned for part two where the Master explains what he has been up to for the past few weeks.
