I honestly have no excuse for how long it has taken me to write a new chapter for this fic. I am not going to promise a time frame for the next chapter as that isn't fair to you all. I have been inspired by the amazing Spider-Man No Way Home movie. No spoilers from me, (and hopefully no one will leave spoilers in their reviews as other people also read reviews besides me) but just know that it is fantastic. Now then, since it's been years since I last wrote a chapter for the fic, I'm hoping that this chapter will not be terrible. I am going to make sure I check over it before posting. Also, I'm sorry if I leave anything out that should be included. If I do, I'll go back and edit the chapter later.

Chapter 7 - Unstoppable Rampage

Spider-Man jumped onto a nearby tree and watched Rhino carefully as he pulled himself free from the remaining pieces of the stage. Narrowing his eyes, Spider-Man examined the entire area for anything that he could use to stop the monster. As he examined, he kept a hold of his emotions as best as he could. This man...no, this monster had terrorized the entire city all night and day before arriving at his party and... Not only that, but it was entirely his fault. If he had stopped him last night or went out to hunt him down as soon as he woke up then his dad wouldn't...

Shaking his head, he snapped himself back to attention. He needed to stop the threat now before he could do anything else. Seeing the tree that had been sent sailing through the air moments earlier, he nodded his head before swinging down to face Rhino head-on. "Hey! You massive insult to rhinos everywhere! Do you have any idea what you just did?!" Spider-Man angrily shouted at the villain who just raised his head to look down at him.

"Tch, the puny insect is back, huh? What are you talking about? That pest I ran over? Any moron would know not to get in a rhino's way. He got what he deserved," Rhino nonchalantly replied as he stood to his full height. Hearing how uncaring this man was about stampeding over his father, Spidey bit his lip under his mask as tears of anger and sorrow formed in his eyes. This man didn't deserve any mercy. Holding his hand out, Spidey just stared the villain down while holding his hand in its usual pose.

"That's all I needed to hear," was all Rhino heard before a strand of web soared past him and, before he could insult the pest on his terrible aim, he was slammed hard in the back of the head by a tree as the twerp yanked back on the web. Stumbling forward, he was cut offguard as a hard uppercut managed to catch him right under his chin which snapped his head back. While it didn't hurt him, he certainly felt the hit. Bringing his arms down as he moved to catch the insect, he felt nothing but air as Spider-Man escaped his grasp and moved away from him.

Looking up to yell in anger, he yelped as a ball of web smashed into his face which blocked his view. Cursing under his breath, he began grasping at the web to try and tear it off to regain his vision. However, he kept getting distracted as he felt hard strikes at the back of his knees which made him unbalanced. Finally tearing the web off, he swiped his arm back right as Spider-Man was coming back in for another hit on his leg. With a smirk, he felt his arm smash hard into the hero which sent him flying back into the boulder.

"Ha! You thought you got me? No puny spider can topple the Rhino!" He angrily shouted as he saw Spider-Man slump in front of the boulder. Smirking at the opportunity, he bent over, began digging one foot into the ground, and then took off into a charge straight at the hero. "Good-bye! Little hero!"

Spider-Man stayed in place as the Rhino grew closer. Looking down as he leaned against the boulder that he had used to separate himself from his family, he watched as debris from Rhino's recent stampede into his party began shaking. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath so he could ignore the pain throbbing from Rhino's strike. Almost immediately after, his Spider-Sense activated and he performed a backflip onto the top of the boulder. As soon as he landed, Rhino smashed horn first into the boulder and kept pushing it backwards from the force of his impact.

After a quick few seconds, Rhino stopped as he realized that he was stuck without a small hero impaled on his horn. "What the-!" he angrily muttered as he brought his hands up to begin trying to pry himself out of the boulder. Narrowing his eyes, Spider-Man jumped high into the air and shot two web strands on either side of the Rhino and the boulder as he continued upwards in the air. Pulling backwards as he continued up, the moment that he reached the peak of his jump, he slungshot himself back down while stretching his feet out. Tensing every muscle in his body, he prepared himself for the impact.

"Hey big fella! Just to let you know, you are the only Rhino that I don't feel bad about this happening too!" Spider-Man shouted as loud as he could over the wind ripping past him. Unable to free himself in time, Rhino screamed in pain as he was struck by an incredible force. Spider-Man smashed through his horns as hard as he could while also hitting part of Rhino's head. Watching Rhino fall back while grasping at his hornless head in pain, Spider-Man ignored the pain in his legs as he looked up at the horns that were now stuck in the boulder.

"I have no idea what those were made of, but if they were even a little tougher, then I would have been in trouble," Spider-Man thought to himself before turning his head back over to Rhino. Seeing that he currently had his defenses down, Spider-Man moved over to the boulder and began lifting it while grunting under its weight.

As Spider-Man was doing that, Rhino had transitioned from being in pain, to rubbing at the spot that the horns were at on his head, to now glaring at the punk with a burning hot rage. Getting to his feet, he cracked his knuckles while slowly making his way over to him. No point in charging without his horns. "I'm going to end you," Rhino angrily stated as he moved closer.

Spider-Man could hear him coming, and he could feel his Spider-Sense screaming at him to move, but he didn't care. This was for his dad. Turning around while holding the boulder, he glared at the villain. The two could feel the tension rising as Rhino continued his slow trek and Spider-Man shifted the boulder to a better position. After a few seconds, the two finally made their move as Spider-Man threw the boulder with all his strength at Rhino who didn't even bother dodging it.

"No puny rock will stop me for a second time!" Rhino angrily shouted as he smashed his fist through the much less stable boulder and finally began a sprint towards the charging Spider-Man. As Spider-Man moved to jump over Rhino's first punch, Rhino surprised him by uppercutting him with his other fist. Before he could fly to far off, Rhino managed to grab him by his leg and brought him smashing onto the ground. Smirking at the sound of Spider-Man's screams, Rhino proceeded to repeat the process by slamming him back and forth a few more times before throwing him into another tree.

Feeling blood rise in his throat, Spider-Man pushed himself back to his feet, and flipped backwards over a punch from Rhino who had managed to catch up to where he was thrown. Rushing backwards up the tree, he managed to leap out and web onto another nearby tree as Rhino destroyed the base of the previous tree. Shooting another web at Rhino's face as he swung around, he came swinging around at high speeds and kicked Rhino in his unprotected face which sent him reeling back a few feet.

Landing on the ground, and forcing himself to not buckle under the pain of his countless injuries, Spider-Man grabbed half of the destroyed tree and batted it hard into Rhino which sent him reeling back even further as it blew to pieces upon impact. Webbing Rhino's feet to the ground and his hands together, Spider-Man proceeded to move in closer. Sadly, he underestimated the amount of time it would take for Rhino to get free as he soon found himself caught in the villain's oversized hands after breaking out of the web.

Holding him with one hand, he ripped the web off his face before going back to holding him with both hands. He slowly began squeezing Spider-Man while glaring down at him. "I'll admit that I definitely underestimated you, but at the end of the day, you are still just a puny spider in the face of a Rhino's rampage!" Rhino angrily declared as he began squeezing harder. Groaning in pain as he felt his bones begin to creak as it felt like they were close to snapping, Spider-Man looked around before noticing Rhino's detached horn laying on the ground.

Looking back at Rhino, Spider-Man felt a rush of adrenaline kick in as he stated, "No, you're just a rhino in the face of a Spider's rampage!" followed by him managing to break free from Rhino's grip, kick off his chest and into the air, shooting a web at the horn and pulling it into his hand, and falling back down, stabbing the horn into Rhino's exposed eye which caused him to scream in pain while clutching at his face.

Falling onto the ground afterwards, Spider-Man began huffing and panting as he looked up at the screaming villain who was reaching at the horn to pull it out before screaming again upon his attempt. At first a feeling of nausea and guilt over what he just did began to creep up his chest before the memory of his father's mangled body rose up in his mind. His face dropped into a glare as he pushed himself back up. He ignored the bruises, he ignored the cuts and the blood, and he ignored the feeling of potentially fractured ribs. He wasn't done yet.

Rushing forward, he jumped and punched Rhino hard in the face which caused him to scream harder as he fell backwards. Jumping onto his chest, Spider-Man began to punch Rhino in his unexposed face repeatedly without stopping. If there were any onlookers, they would be horrified by the sight of a blood covered, beaten down Spider-Man as he mercilessly beat a man down, supervillain or not, but Spider-Man didn't care...no, not Spider-Man, Lincoln didn't care.

His father, the man who raised him and his sisters, could potentially be...he could potentially be dead because of this guy. It was his fault, and he had to pay. No more fun and games, this superhero-ing was never going to be all fun and games like the comics that he read. This was real life, and horrible things happen. He ignored all of that because he treated all of this like it was fun. He wished for a supervillain to fight, and this is what it got him.

Leaning back from his onslaught, he panted hard as he looked at the beaten face of the Rhino. No longer was he an unstoppable foe. Now, he was a fool who was defeated thanks to his own weapon. Said weapon was now lying on the ground next to his unconscious body; apparently, it had managed to free itself from Rhino's face during Lincoln's barrage of punches.

"No more games," Lincoln muttered as he reached down and grabbed the horn. Looking down at Rhino's chest, he nodded to himself, "This one is for you, dad."

Raising the horn into the air, he brought it down with as much force as he could. He was about to impale him when something stopped him. Something that slipped his mind the moment this fight began. Thinking back on his previous thoughts, Rhino was the one who trampled his father, yes, but that didn't mean he was the sole perpetrator. He had let the entire day go on while knowing about Rhino rampaging around the city. He was the superhero that everyone depended on, but he left them defenseless so he could enjoy his birthday party and make his family happy.

He didn't want to let his family down. One of the traits that his family and friends admire about him was the reason that he refused to go hunting for the Rhino the very moment that he woke up and remembered him. He let Rhino's rampage continue until it lead to this. This was his fault. Shaking his head in shock as the guilt finally began to fully settle in, he heard sirens going off. Looking down at the unconscious and unmoving body of the Rhino, he webbed him up as best he could while covering his eye with webs. While he didn't know much about fixing injuries, he at least knew that you had to stop the bleeding.

Shooting a web, he grabbed the clothes that he was previously wearing before shooting another one to swing away from the scene.

On a rooftop

Lincoln hugged his knees to his chest as he stared down at the city. It was in shambles from the recent stampede. He let this happen. What kind of hero was he. Hearing his phone ring, he weakly looked over at it as he pondered whether or not he should actually answer it. On its third ring, he let out a sigh as he grabbed it and pressed the answer icon. He didn't even need to put it next to his ear to hear Luna's worried shouts.

"Lincoln! Please tell me you're alive! Please!"

Lincoln smiled sadly at how concerned she was, but that just caused him to feel even guiltier. "I'm alive Luna-" he was cut off by a loud cry of relief from all his sisters. So she apparently had the phone on speaker, "I am alive; however, I am stuck in the traffic leaving the park thanks to all the damage caused by...that Rhino guy. I'm on my way to the hospital now...how's dad?"

At the sound of complete silence, Lincoln sucked in a deep breath. Nodding to himself sadly, he pulled his mask off and let his tears flow.

"Linc...I took the phone off speaker. I...I don't think dad is going to make it. You need to get down here as quickly as you can," he heard Luna calmly tell him. At least, she sounded calm, but Lincoln knew his sister. The distinct lack of the British accent followed by calling their dad, 'dad,' was all the indicator that he needed to know just how bad she felt.

Considering the reason that his dad was even in the hospital on his death bed was because of him, Lincoln felt extremely troubled by the thought of being near his family and dad. They would be in the same room as the guy who caused their father's/husband's death because he wanted to enjoy a birthday party instead of doing his superhero job. As the guilt began creeping back in, he heard Luna say something before hanging up.

"Please Linc, we all need you."

Hearing that, his emotions began to twist and turn inside. His guilt told him to stay away. He didn't deserve to be with his family, and his father, when he was the cause of this disaster. At the same time though, his feelings of protection and comfort told him to go and be with them. They needed everyone there when it inevitably happened. No matter how guilty he felt, they needed him more. It doesn't matter how he feels now, he can deal with this later.

Wiping the tears off his face, he put his mask back on and shot a web so that he could begin web swinging to the hospital.

As he left the building though, he didn't notice the swirling shadowy vortex. "Seems the Spidey is finally beginning to blossom~"

As Lincoln web-swinged down the street, he noticed just how badly damaged everything was. Cursing himself under his breath, he continued on his way. He can worry about this later. Spider-Man can help the city with this later. Right now, Lincoln Loud was needed elsewhere. Swinging around a corner, he spotted the bright 'Hospital' sign on the side of a building a little further down the way. Landing on a nearby rooftop, he sprinted across it and began leaping across the buildings with ease while biting down to make sure that he didn't aggravate his injuries.

Stopping on the building next to the Hospital's rooftop, he quickly changed back into his normal clothes. Thankfully, his clothing managed to cover his cuts and bruises along his arms and legs. The only thing that he had to worry about was the bleeding and bruising on his face. Luckily, they witnessed a rock hit him hard in the face before they were separated so he had an excuse.

Crawling down the side of the building into the alleyway, he quickly walked out and around to the entrance. The moment he set foot into the hospital, he was wrapped in a tight hug by Lori who was waiting for him in the lobby.

Tense at first, he returned her hug and held her tightly as they both let their tears flow. After a brief silence, the two pulled backwards, but didn't break their hug. "You're safe. Thank god, you're safe. Your face though...is that from when that rock hit you?" Lori quietly asked him. Lincoln just nodded with a forced smile on his face. She gently brushed the blood off his face before breaking their hug. "Everyone is upstairs..." Lori trailed off as she began, but she jumped slightly when he took her hand and gave it a squeeze to remind her that he was there. Smiling lightly, she pulled him along to the elevator.

After a few moments of silence in the elevator as it went up to the sixth floor, the two walked out and headed for the emergency room. As soon as they walked into sight, the rest of their sisters shot into them in a massive group hug. And almost as one, the group dissolved into sobs. The passing nurses and doctors quietly passed them while shooting them brief looks of sorrow and pity. Lincoln spotted them, but he didn't pay them any mind.

Lincoln felt his ribs complain and groan in pain from how hard his sisters were squeezing him, but he ignored it. Everyone needed this hug, and he wasn't going to let his injuries ruin it. As the group continued to cry, they heard movement which caused a few to look up. There they saw their mom who was looking down at them with tears in her eyes. "Everyone, your father would like to see you..."

They all looked at her in shock before shooting up and charging into the room, except for Lincoln and Leni. Lincoln had to take a moment to recover from the stress to his injuries. Leni though just looked down silently while tears continued flowing down her face. Feeling worry take over, Lincoln moved to her side and gently shook her. "Leni, we need to go see dad. Are you okay?"

Leni looked away from him as she hugged herself. "I...I did this. Dad is...dad is going to...because of me," Leni quietly muttered to herself in the hopes that Lincoln couldn't hear her. Unfortunately for her, Lincoln's enhanced hearing allowed him to pick up on what she was saying.

"Leni, why do you think this is your fault? None of this is your fault," "Yeah, it's all my fault. I caused this by letting Rhino rampage unchecked all night and day," Lincoln told her before following it up with the self-deprecating thoughts. Leni just shook her head as her tears flew.

"If my heel hadn't broken, Dad wouldn't have had to save me and...," Leni trailed off as she began crying again. Lincoln felt like he was shot through the chest at that. He wasn't the only one blaming himself for all this. Poor, sweet Leni was also mentally and emotionally beating herself up over it too. Taking a step forward, he slowly wrapped her in a hug and began rubbing her back to try and soothe her down.

"Leni, Dad did what he did because he wanted to make sure you were safe. He would have done it for anybody. It was not your fault that this happened. You couldn't help your shoe breaking. That could have happened at anytime. And honestly, if I was in Dad's place, I would have done the same thing. I'm sure mom or any of our other sisters would as well. You are not at fault here," Lincoln reassured her. He could feel her grip tighten as he kept talking.

"Wh-What if I go in there, and he...he hates me?" Leni quietly asked. Lincoln though just leaned back and looked her in the eye.

"Leni, do you think that our dad is capable of hating any of us?" Lincoln softly asked Leni who just stared at the floor in silence. After a moment, she slowly shook her head 'no' which got Lincoln to smile softly. Standing up, he helped Leni back to her feet, and the two walked into their Dad's room while holding hands to keep both of them steady, not that Leni needed to know that Lincoln also needed some emotional support going into this.

The two sharply inhaled at the sight of their father in the hospital bed. Feeling Leni's grip tighten, Lincoln returned it with a comforting squeeze before gently leading her into the room. As they got closer, Lynn Sr. turned his head to look at them with a soft smile. "Leni, Lincoln, you're both okay. Thank goodness," he stated as his smiled widened. Lincoln felt tears begin to form in the corners of his eyes as Leni began shaking. The two walked closer to him and Leni quickly moved from Lincoln to grip the bed's rails.

"Dad! I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have fallen! If I hadn't...I...I..." Leni began to cry again, her tears increasing as Lynn Sr. softly placed one of his hands on her head to gently rub it before bringing it back down.

"It's alright honey, I'm just happy that you're safe," Lynn Sr. stated before wincing at a sharp pain in his chest. Rita quickly ran to his side to check on him, but he flashed her a smile to calm her down. It didn't work, but she didn't want to disappoint him so she forced a smile onto her face.

Lincoln stood there silently as he looked at the state that his father was in. His breathing was unsteady, he kept wincing every few seconds, (he tried to be subtle, but Lincoln could pick up on it easily) his leg was in a brace, and his eyes kept glazing over every few seconds. Closing his eyes, he tuned everyone else's heartbeats out and only focused on his father's. What he heard confirmed his worse fears. His dad wasn't long for this world.

Letting his tears fall, Lincoln moved over to his father and gently gripped his hand. Smiling softly at him, he finally spoke, "Dad, I...We're here for you, alright. Don't worry, we are always going to be here. We're Louds after all."

Smiling back at his son, Lynn Sr. gave his hand a weak squeeze before looking at the rest of his family. "Girls, do you mind giving Lincoln and I a moment to speak in private?" Lynn Sr. asked the rest of the Louds. They all looked at him in shock and confusion while Lincoln just gave his father a perplexed stare. Rita wanted to protest, but she seemed to notice something in Lynn Sr.'s eyes that convinced her.

"Girls, let's give the men a moment to speak. A moment, dear. No longer, understand?" Rita looked back at Lynn Sr. who just smiled at her before nodding. Watching the girls walk out of the room and close the door behind them before heading slightly further down the hallway, Lincoln turned his head back to see his dad looking straight at him.

"Alright...Lincoln, go ahead and tell me what you want too," Lynn Sr. weakly told him as he rested his arm on his chest. Lincoln stared back in shock as he tried to work out what his father meant before flashes of the day and his guilt spanned through his mind. Flinching, he looked away as he began to curl in on himself.

"I-I...I can't. You'll never forgive me if I do," Lincoln whispered as his body began to shake. Lynn Sr. softly chuckled as tears formed in his eyes.

"Lincoln...we both know that I'm not going to last much longer. And...I could never hate any of you kids. Don't be scared...tell me," Lynn Sr. softly said as he patted his son's head. Looking up with tears, Lincoln quickly darted his eyes to the side, but he finally managed to steel his nerves.

"I...I'm Spider-Man, dad. It's my fault that Rhino attacked the party. If I had stopped him last night! Or, I told you guys that I couldn't go to the party today and went to hunt him down, this never would have happened! I let him destroy so much of Royal Woods and...and..." Lincoln fell out of the chair to his knees as he stared down at the ground. Lynn Sr. watched his son silently.

"I managed to defeat him, but...I..I...what he did to you...it made me so furious. I stabbed one of his eyes out with his horn and then...I almost...I almost killed him...I almost became a murderer. I only stopped because I realized that it was my fault that you're in this condition. He might have trampled you, but he wouldn't have even been there if it wasn't for me!" Lincoln began crying even more while hugging himself. All the injuries and his exhaustion finally caught up. Not only that, but the emotional trauma from the day's events were the final nail in the coffin. He wasn't a strong superhero at the moment. At the moment, he was just a young teenager who was about to lose his father.

As he cried, he lost focus of everything else around him. So the feeling of his dad's hands on his shoulders shocked him. He jumped lightly thanks to his enhanced reflexes, but he stopped himself from responding when he saw his dad giving him a soft smile.

"Lincoln, I do not blame you. You only gained these powers a few months ago. You...You are still new to this. Honestly...I do not want you out th-there risking your life, but I *cough* I know you will, no matter what happens. You're just that kind of person. You care about others too much. And that's why, I...I am so proud of you. I just want you to know that as time goes on, you need to realize that thanks to these powers, things are going to be harder. And now that I'm...I'm leaving...you're going to be the man of the house. So before I die, I want to impart onto you, the most vital piece of wisdom that I can. 'With great power there must also come great responsibility.' I learned this lesson from my father who learned it from his. You have all these amazing powers Lincoln, but you must use them responsibly. It will be hard, but I know...you can...do it *cough**cough**cough*" Lynn Sr. finished his speech as he began coughing up blood.

Lincoln snapped out of his trance from the speech as this happened. Rushing over to the emergency call button, he smashed his hand on it to call for nurses and doctors before rushing out of the room to get his family.

As the group ran back in, they all surrounded his bed and began crying and calling out for him. Rita held his face in her hands as tears poured down her own while she tried to call for him so he wouldn't leave them. The doctors rushed in to try and stabilize his condition; however, nothing they did managed to work.

Saturday, March 5th, Lynn Sr. Loud passed away.

And that is the end of the chapter! I hope everyone enjoyed it, and once again I am so sorry for the long absence. I honestly have no excuse, but I want to try writing more often, and I am currently in a Spidey mood so I will try to update this more often, but I will not make any promises.
So Lynn Sr. is officially dead. I needed someone close to Lincoln to pass on the famous lesson, and I chose Lynn Sr. I'm sure plenty of you guessed that this was going to be the outcome from the events of the previous chapter.
Lincoln went to a dark place around the end of that fight. I wanted the fight to be rather brutal considering the circumstances, and while I wanted to draw it out longer, I ran out of ideas to do it. If I had the fight take place in the city, I would have been able to think of more creative things to do since Lincoln would have access to way more things to use against Rhino, but in the park he's kind of limited to trees and large rocks. Since the fight wasn't going to be as long as I originally intended, I decided to make the ending become rather brutal. So I hope that makes up for it.
Also, before anyone comments on it, I know Rhino in the fic is much weaker than he is in the comics. I also know that in the comics, his horn doesn't break off. (to my knowledge at least. I can't remember a time it has) I decided to make Rhino, in his first overall appearance in my universe here, be weaker than his comic self. Later appearances will have him in an enhanced suit that will make him stronger and much more durable. Don't worry though, it won't be a TASM2 suit. Just slight enhancements to his normal Rhino suit.
I hope the emotions in the chapter were also displayed adequately enough. I tried to do a decent job since the chapter wasn't going to be as long as I initially wanted it to be. So I hope it turned out alright.

What's next for Lincoln! Not 100% sure, but I have some ideas for certain aspects. I will probably have a small timeskip, maybe around a month, in the next chapter. So be ready just in case.

Also, any more suggestions for Lincoln's Harem? I would love to hear them. I am taking suggestions for Marvel girls as well, just to let you all know. Not too many though. Also if I do add them, be aware that I may change parts of their backgrounds so yeah.
Quick note about the harem, I decided to take Tabby out...mainly because I can't think of a good way to incorporate her. So, I'm sorry Tabby fans. If I can think of a decent way later, then I'll add her again, but for now...
Also, should I take Ronnie Anne out? She's in a different city, and I've just lost interest in the Lincoln/Ronnie Anne pairing over time. I'll leave that to you all...for now. If I come to a decision before you all, then I'll make it.
Last note, Haiku in this is Lincoln's age, not Lucy's. In her first appearance, I assumed that she was Lincoln's age considering she was part of a group of girls that were all his age to be his date to the Sadie Hawkins dance. Since her appearance though, they seemed to have ignored that part and made her Lucy's age. However, since I started the fic before they did that, my original intentions for her were her to be the same age as Lincoln. So that is why she will be older than Lucy in this fic.
Harem: Ronnie Anne, Luna, Leni, Lucy, Haiku, (WIP)

Until next time! (Hopefully, it won't be as long)
