Jason's P.O.V

I'd been summoned to the 'white house', that's what Thalia and I jokingly called Dad's house. It would be a cold day in Hell if our father ever really took the White House.

"Jason" Dad greeted me as I stepped into his office.

"Father" I said, cordially.

"I've not got much time, so to put it simply, you're transferring schools." He said distractedly. I thanked my lucky stars that Annabeth had already thought of this, but it didn't quell my anger.

"No." I said defiantly.

"No?" My father chuckled, as if I was joking.

"No" I confirmed.

"You think you have a choice? After all I've done for you and your sister!" He said his tempo raising. "First your sister, now you, show me some respect!"

"Respect is earned, and you have a long way to go before you have mine or Thalia's."

"Insolent child, I'm cutting you off!"

"Because that's what you think family is, isn't it? That we're as easy to control as money? Well I've got news for you Dad, family means being there for each other when times get hard. And where the hell were you?" I yelled, years of anger finally being expelled at the man who'd caused it.

"Where was I?! I was paying to send you to the best schools. I was shaping your future!"

"It isn't yours to shape!"

"In this family it is!" He yelled.

"Funny. You want to know who was there Dad? Do you want to know who did your job? Aunt Sally and ironically, by your standards, she isn't family, when she's the best family we've ever had!"

"That woman is nothing but a gold digging whore!" He yelled and I saw red. Anger crackled through me as my first made contact with his face.

"DON'T YOU EVER, SAY THAT ABOUT AUNT SALLY! YOU WANT TO CUT ME OFF?! WELL CONGRATULATIONS DAD, I'M CUTTING YOU OFF! NEVER CONTACT ME AGAIN" I yelled at him angrily before storming out of the house.

Piper's P.O.V

"Jay, calm down, tell me where you are?" I said.

Jason had phoned me from his car, and he was in a complete mess. I'd made him pull over as soon as he could. I knew he was in no position to drive.

"I'm in the target car park, near my dad's house." He said.

"Right, stay there, I'm coming to get you." I said.

"You don't have to do that-"

"Yes I do. Stay on the phone with me." I said as I got Annabeth's attention.

"Of course"

When I'd managed to relay the message to Annabeth, she grabbed Percy's keys and then Percy and we made our way down to his car. It took us about half an hour, but we eventually made it to the carpark that Jason was in. Jason hung up the phone and got out of the car just as Percy pulled to a stop and I jumped out and ran to him.

Jason was inconsolable; I could see the rage filtering from him as I approached. I dreaded to think of what had been said to him for him to react this way. When I reached him, he immediately scooped me into a hug and his body started shaking as I felt his tears hit my shoulder.

"Shhh," I said as soothing as I could. "It's okay let it out." I said carding my fingers through his hair, and rubbing his back in what was hopefully a comforting way.

"He said – He called-" He sobbed almost incoherently.

"And- and – I – I-" He tried.

"It's okay, whatever was said and done, we'll deal with it together." I promised as I continued to run a hand though his hair.

Percy and Annabeth waited in Percy's car, but I knew they both wanted to help if they could.

"Why don't we get back into the car and I'll drive us back to my apartment and we can talk or not talk?" I asked and I felt him nod his head against my shoulder.

"Let me tell Annabeth and Percy and then we'll get going okay?" I asked.

"Okay" He replied.

Annabeth's P.O.V

When we got back to the flat Percy took control and put re-runs of Scooby-Doo on the TV while Piper and Jason sat on the sofa. Percy sat on the floor in front of Jason and I went and made hot chocolate.

Jason was very quiet and subdued, it was very unlike him. Halfway through one of the episodes, Thalia turned up.

"Oh good it's Scooby-Doo bad" Thalia said. "Right come on what did he say now?"

Jason looked really reluctant to share but he did start talking.

"Annabeth was right, he wanted to transfer me." Jason said.

"Okay, but that's not what has sent us back to childhood TV shows for comfort." Thalia said.

"He insulted Aunt Sally" Jason said after a long pause. "I hit him, shouted and left."

"That's brief, what he said was that bad huh?" Percy asked quite calmly considering it was his mom that had been insulted. Jason didn't respond verbally, he just nodded. I didn't know a lot about how Jason felt about the past, but I knew how Thalia felt about it. We'd spoken about it a lot, and she'd always praised Sally in her stories, long before I actually knew who Sally was. I knew Thalia thought of Sally as a second mom, and I assumed that Jason did too.

"I told him I never wanted to hear from him again." Jason said looking at the TV. His hand was gripping Piper's like it was a life line.

"I can get on board with that." Thalia said conspiratorially.

"You don't have to"

"Let's recap shall we? He tried to marry me off to my ex-friend's half brother, whose current girlfriend used to bully PJ. He tried to transfer you for the last quarter of school because he can't stand not being in control of us or me defying his wishes. And to top it off he insulted Aunt Sally who has done so much for us over the years. So I'm good with being on board with that." Thalia said.

"You don't even know what he said." Jason said weakly.

"I don't need to know. If it elicited that response from you, you who wouldn't normally hurt a fly, then that's enough for me."

"Thanks" He whispered, and I could see the relief in his face, almost like he'd expected a different reaction.

Nothing more was said on or about the matter for the rest of the day, the five of us just watched Scooby-Doo and ate Mexican take-out.

"Hey thanks for today" Percy said as we got into bed later on. It had been a while since he'd stayed over; it was nice that we were going back to normal.

"I didn't really do anything." I said.

"You did more than you think you did." He told me.

"Well then, I'm glad I could help." I said.

"Y'know we never had that talk before Estelle's party." He said.

"Would you like to talk about it now?" I asked.

"We don't have too" He said.

"Percy, I know it's important to you, it's important to me too, let's talk about it." I said snuggling into his side.

"I know I've expressed an explicit want to marry you later on, and I still do if you want that. But it's not just that, I want a whole life with you Annabeth. I love watching you with Estelle and imagining that it could be you and our daughter some day. And I know that it's a lot considering we've not been together that long, but I know that's what I want for us." He said, and I could see he was worried that it was too big of a dream for this early in our relationship. But I really didn't feel like it was.

My stomach was flipping like crazy, as he told me how he saw things, and what he wanted for our future. Percy had always managed to make me feel safe and loved. I knew that I wanted the same things as Percy. I could imagine a little boy who looked just like him, running around our apartment giggling as he went. I could see us all sitting on the sofa after a long week and just having family time. I could imagine how Percy would look when he was older, maybe with salt and pepper like hair like his step-dad had.

"That sounds perfect Percy." I said.

"But?" He asked.

"I imagined a son, rather than a daughter, otherwise no buts." I said and he smiled down at me, placing a hand on my cheek. He lent down and kissed me softly before pulling away.

"I love you Annabeth."

"I love you too Percy."

Percy's P.O.V

Things had been going well since the day Jason and Thalia had decided not to talk to their dad any more. I'd caught up on my classes with a lot of help from Annabeth. I'd also started working at the aquarium again, and I was really enjoying it. I don't know why I just found it to be really relaxing, taking care of all the animals and getting back, properly, into my old routine of school and work.

As we approached Easter break, I was determined to help Annabeth finish the list in between studying for finals. I thought it would be a really good incentive to help her get through whichever module she was studying for and also provide her with a much needed break.

Annabeth had a tendency to get a little too wrapped up in her studying and I've been finding ways to get her to take breaks without being pushy about it. I also wanted her thoroughly distracted from my plans.

We'd been talking about it since that night and knowing that she had a similar idea for our future as I did, only encouraged me more.

"You're sure about this?" Mom asked me as we sat at the kitchen table in her apartment.

"More than I've ever been about anything." I replied.

"Well alright then," Mom said smiling, "What is it you want my help with?" She asked me.

"Well I have an idea potentially about a ring, but I'd like your help with it if you don't mind?" I asked nervously.

"Mind? My baby boy is asking the woman he loves to marry him and he's asking for my help, and you think I'll mind?!" She chuckled.

"Urg! Mom! Could you refrain from calling me your baby boy" I moaned.

My mom just laughed at me. "You'll always be my baby boy, Percy. You'll understand when you have your own children." She smiled. "Now, shall we fire up the computer and have a look at this ring you think you've found?"

"Thanks mom." I said genuinely.

Mom had always supported me in everything I'd ever set my heart on. I was almost overwhelmed with how freely she gave me her love and support. It suddenly struck me that until Paul came along she'd been giving me the love of two parents, the support of two parents. The Walrus certainly hadn't given two flying ones about my well being, never mind offering me support for anything that I wanted to do. Paul had offered me the same love and support as my mom when he'd first arrived in our lives and I'll admit it had taken me a while to warm up to him. The Walrus had made me wary of trusting adult males, not just in our home but with my mom. It had taken me a long time to warm up to Paul being in our lives, too long really, with everything he'd done for me.

It was why I had the watch I gave him for Christmas engraved with 'Merry Christmas Dad Love Percy'. He may not be my biological dad, but he's the closet thing I've ever had. Which might not be fair to say, since my Dad has been trying to be part of my life, at least since he found out about me, and it's my fault for not letting him do that. Although, since we'd made that truce before Valentine's Day, things with him had been better.

That being said mom had been a constant through it all, always showing me the same love and support, regardless of who passed through and who stayed in our lives. She'd been my one constant from the beginning. She'd supported me when I wanted to dive, she supported me when I wanted to write and she was supporting me now with my desire to ask Annabeth to marry me. And I knew she always would because that was just who my mom was.

"Are you helping me with this ring search or am I helping you?" My mom called out to me, bringing me out of my thoughts.

I smiled and made my way over to sit with her on the sofa to look at rings for Annabeth.

~ Author's Note ~

Hi all, I hope you enjoyed the chapter, and I'm sorry it took so long to update! Work has been very full on recently and also as a family we've recently come down with a sickness bug which has been a barrel of laughs I can assure you! Thankfully, we are all mostly feeling much better now.

Sranupama2005 – Thank you for your review! I'm really glad you enjoyed the last chapter and hopefully Estelle's birthday lived up to expectations! I hope you enjoyed this one as well, let me know!

Astra2111 – Thank you for your review! I don't love to torture you; I had fully intended to give you all more of that dinner I just couldn't find the inspiration to put it onto paper unfortunately! But I hope the beginning of this one sated that requirement a little for you! Let me know!

Merendinoemiliano – Thank you for your review! I'm glad you enjoyed the Disney references! Let me know what you thought of this chapter!

2Fashionista – Thank you for your review! And welcome to the story, I hope you've managed to catch up! I'm glad you're loving it, let me know what you thought of this chapter!

Pandelfique – Thank you for your review! And welcome to the story, I'm glad you're enjoying! Thalia and Reyna are a bit more of a side plot to this story and might make more of an appearance in the epilogue rather than the ending of this but I appreciated there's a want for their relationship :). Let me know what you thought of this one!

SarcasmRocks – Thank you for your review! And what a long review it is for you! :) I'm glad it's your favourite chapter so far and considering the number of times you've said that I'm glad I keep exceeding the last one :). Frank being excited to fulfil a childhood dream and also sort of defy his grandmother in the process was something that I just loved and had to put on paper once I'd got the image in my head. I thought a lot about the over protective Jason, it was fully intended to be Percy to start off with but he's obviously had more interactions with Oliver than Jason so I felt like his objection would have come in a lot earlier, so I want for Jason. I'm glad you enjoyed the fluff too, let me know what you thought of this chapter!

Insanedreamer7905 – Thank you for your review! And what a long review it is too, even by your normal standards! :) I love that you have a need to convert revived feels and squeals into words over the last chapter. I'm glad your inner fan girl preened at the fluff, it means I hit the mark with what I was aiming for! Frank being excited to be a dragon was something that once I had the image in my head I had to put on paper, the opportunity was too good to pass up. The Big Hero 6 characters were actually a suggestion from another reader and with their permission I put that forward into that last chapter, and I'm really glad you enjoyed. I hope you enjoyed this one too, let me know!

Annabeth SWIFTIE – Thank you for your review! I'm glad you loved the last chapter! Protective Jason was fun to write, and I did try to match up the Disney characters to the HOO characters as best I could and I did have help with that from another reader. I hope you enjoyed this chapter too, let me know!

I find it really interesting that a lot of you who left a review didn't mention the Kim Possible references is that just because you don't know who she is? Is that and age gap?! Wow and age gap on Kim Possible, clearly I'm showing my age now! Anyhow hope you all enjoy and as always happy reading! :)
