Chapter 5: The Rum Tum Tugger

As Jennyanydots earned praise from the other cats and the heroes, suddenly, some jazzy rock music started playing. "Meow." A new male cat with a big mane said as he made his appearance. "Oh, brother." Munkustrap groaned playfully. "Who's that?" Carmelita asked. "That's the Rum Tum Tugger, Munkustrap's brother." Bombalurina said, flustered. "Meow." Tugger said again.

The heroes watched as a few of the other cats swoon over him as they danced. "He's really popular with these kittens, isn't he?" Carmelita asked. "Yeah. I'm not even sure if I should swoon or barf." Intress said, fist-bumping Carmelita.

Quaxo: The Rum Tum Tugger is a terrible bore

Rum Tum Tugger: When you let me in, then I wanna go out

I'm always on the wrong side of every door

And as soon as I get home, then I like to get about

I like to lie in a bureau drawer

But I make such a fuss if I can't get out

The heroes continued to watch as Tugger continued swooning the kittens. "Something tells me that he's not just here for the Jellicle Choice." George said. "That big flirt." Sly said. The others looked at him. "I hate it when others remind me of me." Sly said.

Bombalurina: The Rum Tum Tugger is a curious beast

Rum Tum Tugger: My disobliging ways are a matter of habit

Now if you offer me fish, then I always want a feast

And if there isn't any fish, then I won't eat a rabbit

If you offer cream, then I sniff and sneer

For I only like what I find for myself

Bombalurina cuddled up to Tugger as he traced his finger up to her cheek as if she was waiting for him to kiss her. "If they kiss, I think I'm gonna puke." Seamus whispered. "No." Tugger said, letting Bombalurina dance fall to the floor.

So, you'll catch me in it right up to my ears and you put it away on the larder shelf

As the cats continued dancing, started associating around some of the others that weren't dancing. He slid in between Jellylorum and Jennyanydots, and pecked their cheeks. Then he moved in front of Victoria, Jemima and Electra, entrancing them with his fabulous movements and making them faint. Then after trying to gain Demeter's attention, Tugger moved back in front of the others as some of the heroes joined in the dance.

They all continued dancing to Tugger's joy up to the final parts of the number.

And with that, the number ended. The heroes applauded to this number. "Okay. I admit it. That Tugger is quite the dancer and singer." Ron said. "Yeah. I can see why he's a candidate for the Jellicle Choice." Parvati said. "I still don't know if I'm supposed to swoon or barf." Intress said, making the other girls chuckle.
