Call It Like It Really Is
Vi was used to Jinx zooming around her apartment, but this was getting a little ridiculous. Vi visited because she wanted to spend a little time with her sister, but apparently Jinx was busy doing... something. From the moment Vi knocked on Jinx's door the tinkerer just pulled her inside and sat her down in the living room, telling her to wait just a minute while she got something done.
That was almost an hour ago, and all Jinx did was ask Vi her opinion on blankets and pillows, give her snacks, hug her and zoom around the place frantically.
"Can you slow down a little?" Vi's sudden question did get Jinx to stop but she was running in place, "What's with you? You haven't stopped for a second since I arrived? Are you in trouble? Is anyone giving you trouble?" Vi punched her fist in her palm.
Jinx might be all grown up and more than capable of taking care of herself but that doesn't mean Vi's protective streak ever went away. Especially since she wasn't there for Jinx for many years and couldn't play her role as an overprotective big sister.
Jinx rolled her eyes, "Nothing like that. It's just that..." Jinx mumbled something to herself way too quickly.
"What?"
"I said..." Jinx took a deep breath, getting ready for the teasing that was about to come, "Lux is staying over tonight. She mentioned that she wants to stay over tonight. So I just thought I'd get things ready for her." Admitting this was embarrassing.
"Lux?" Vi arched an eyebrow, "Oh! That cute mage from Demacia you've been talking about?"
Jinx's eyes narrowed at her sisters words. She had no right to be possessive over Lux, she knew that. Still she couldn't help herself, Lux was like her shining light, she didn't want anyone to steal her away.
Jinx probably though she was being scary, but even with the protective and challenging stance it made it difficult for Vi to take the threat seriously with Jinx's pouting face. Still she put her hands up in surrender, "Easy there sis. It was just an observation. Besides I only have eyes for one woman." Vi's eyes got distant and dreamy as she thought of Caitlyn. Jinx rolled her eyes and made a tired face, "A-Anyway. A sleepover huh? Are you excited?"
"Well yeah. Duh." Jinx plopped herself on the couch next to Vi, "I'm just nervous ya know. Never had a sleepover before." It was rare to see Jinx nervous, vulnerable, sounding so small and unsure of herself. It reminded Vi of when they were kids.
"Uh well... what kind of a sleepover is it?" Vi asked trying to get some more information before offering any advice.
"What?" Jinx quirked a brow.
"Is it a friends type of thing or are you more than that now?"
Jinx blushed, "I don't know! I think we're more than that. We've been on a date before. Wait... is this a date too? Did she just say sleepover but she meant... oh gods do you think she wants to fuck?"
"I'd... rather not think about that. And I'm not give you the whole be safe talk either. You're smart Pow-Pow, just don't let yourself get hurt alright. I know you really like this girl and try and make sure you're on the same page first alright?"
"I guess. Maybe I'm over thinking this." Jinx looked at her hands in her lap.
"Hey. It's a sleepover with your crush. Of course you're over-thinking it. You and Cait are funny that way." Vi wrapped an arm around her sister, bringing her in for a side hug.
"I'm not taking that as a compliment." Jinx smiled despite herself, "Should I get some food? Do you think she wants to eat? Or just hang out?"
Vi sighed, "There you go again. See what I mean by over-thinking it? And why are you asking me? Ask her when she gets here."
Just then there was a knock on the door. Jinx's eyes lit up, "That's has to be her!" She yelled and before Vi could even turn around Jinx was already at the door. Damn her inhuman speed, Vi was still getting used to it. Jinx opened the door, revealing the blonde mage, "Hey Flashlight! Glad you made it." Jinx leaned against the door frame with one hand, the other one on her hip. This was a cool pose. She saw multiple people do it in the Lanes, it had to work.
Vi slapped her forehead, that was slightly painful to watch. Was this how she and Caitlyn looked? Surely not.
Lux didn't seem to mind the dorky pose, in fact she laughed, "Of course. I'm excited for our sleepover."
Jinx was about to respond when she felt Vi's arm around her shoulders, "So is Pow-Pow, she hadn't been able to stay still all day."
"Vi!" Jinx blushed from the embarrassment. Lux chuckled again adding to Jinx's embarrassment. "Damn you really are sunshine incarnate huh? You picked a good one sis." Vi ruffled Jinx's hair playfully, "Well I gotta get going, got my own hot date tonight. You two have fun. Uh... don't drink too much and... don't get pregnant."
Now it was both Jinx and Lux who blushed, "Please just go." Jinx practically pushed Vi out the door while the Enforcer just gave her a thumbs up and a smile. She sighed as Lux walked in and closed the door, "Sorry about that Flashlight."
"No, no. I have a brother I know how it is. Although Garen isn't so... blunt." Lux pushed a strand of hair behind her ear.
"R-Right. Anyway, you want food or just straight to the bedroom." Lux blushed at Jinx's words, "No! Wait, shit! Not like that! It's a sleepover right? So we... shit." Jinx sighed, covering her face with her hands and slumping down the wall, "Sorry."
Lux kneeled down, tentative placing her hand on Jinx's shoulder. A pale, cold hand quickly grasped her own, "Hey, there's no need for that. I'm-I'm nervous too. This is actually my first sleepover."
Jinx looked at her, her eyes sparkling as she blinked rapidly. "So... what do we do?" Jinx was a genius when it came to tinkering and inventing, she could hold her own in the Lanes, scare anyone, outsmart every Enforcer, charm anyone she wanted, yet with Lux she was a complete mess. It scared her honestly.
"I think we should just wing it. For starters we can order some food if you're hungry. Maybe... talk and cuddle on the couch." Lux hopped Jinx wanted that right now. Company, her company. Her touch.
"Sure." Jinx said a little unsure, "What are you in the mood for Flashlight?" Jinx smirked and just like that she was back in her usual, cheerful self. She jumped up on her feet, "There's a food stall down the street. Nothing fancy but damn is the food good. I'll run down and get us something ok? You make yourself at home." Jinx was gone to get the food, but not before she gave Lux a peck on the cheek. She didn't stick around long enough for Lux to see her blush, or to see Lux blush. She just wanted to kiss her. And Jinx was always impulsive, but this time it was a good thing.
When she got back she got a kiss in return, an action that she didn't expect. Lux was more shy than herself, but she appreciated it non the less. The dinner and the cuddling went smoothly but them came the part that Jinx dreaded the most. The actual sleeping part.
The duo stood in Jinx's bedroom. It had tools, parts, blueprints, books and drawings scattered all over it, "So um... we sleep in the same bed right? I mean I only have one anyway."
"Right. Do you have any clothes for me to borrow?"
Jinx look at her confused, "What? You didn't bring your own?"
Lux shrugged, "I wanted to sleep in your clothes. I hope that's not weird! I just really like what you wear."
Jinx didn't even need to hear anything else, she was digging trough he closet in a matter of seconds to find something for Lux to sleep in. She gave her a fluffy, oversized shirt. It was simple but it was the first time she bought for herself in Piltover. "It's a little worn out, but it's one of my favorites."
As Jinx expected the shirt that was a little too big on her fit Lux just right. Still it filled her heart with joy to see Lux wearing her clothes. It also meant that her legs were bare.
"Do you want pants too? They'll probably be short on you but..." Honestly Jinx liked Lux like this, but wasn't gonna tell her that now, it might give the mage the wrong idea.
Lux however didn't miss the way Jinx's pink eyes trailed down her bare thighs, "No. It's not necessary. But thank you." Lux walked over to her preferred side of the bed, lifted the covers, got in and patted the spot to her.
Jinx was grateful that the room was dark, other wise Lux would see how red she was. She quickly went to change, pulling off her shirt, pants and boots, almost tripping over herself, "Shit." She cursed as she caught herself on the edge of the bed. Lux laughed at her silliness, not in a mocking way but still Jinx couldn't help but feel like she looked really dumb right about now. With a huff she put on her shirt and sleeping shorts.
She undid her braids, allowing her hair to flow freely down her back. She heard a gasp behind her. When she turned around she saw Lux staring at her mesmerized, "What?"
"Your hair. It's beautiful." Lux reached over and ran her hand trough Jinx's hair, "Lovely."
Jinx mouth fell agape and she struggled to think for a moment, "Thanks! Yours too!" Well that wasn't her greatest comeback but still it was the best she could do when she was this close to kissing her crush. She leaned in closer, her lips barely brushing over Lux's before pulling back. She could feel her heart beating rapidly, which she thought was impossible since she practically died once causing her heartbeat to slow down, even after the Shimmer.
"Again." Lux whispered, her hands pulling Jinx closer by the shoulders pressing their together again, for far longer this time. Jinx usually preferred to instigate the touch herself but if it was Lux she didn't mind it. She leaned into the kiss, their lips pressing firmly together again and again.
"Hey Sunshine..." Jinx's words passed over Lux's lips, "Do you wanna take this further?"
"Uh... well I really was planning on just sleeping together tonight." Lux felt kind of silly saying that given she just pulled Jinx in for a kiss like that, but Jinx didn't look disappointed in the slightest. Quite the opposite in fact, she looked relived.
She grinned, "I like being with you. A lot. You make me feel safe. I don't wanna ruin it."
Lux shook her head, "You could never. Not with me." Lux pulled her in for one more kiss before the two settled on the bed. Lux hugged Jinx from behind, arms around her stomach and face buried in Jinx's blue hair, "Thank you. For trusting me."
Jinx took in a deep breath, "I should be telling you that." She could hear Lux laugh lightly, feel her arms pull her closer. Jinx never let anyone hold her like that, she was only this vulnerable with Vi. Now, she found another person she could trust herself with, who trust her. And she will try her damn best to make sure Lux didn't make a big mistake, "Goodnight Fl- Lux."
Lux hummed, "Goodnight Jinx."
