PRAISE BE TO LORD ARCLIGHT001! I COULD NOT HAVE PHRASED THE ADVICE BETTER MYSELF, SO THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME USE THOSE EXACT WORDS.

To answer your question, yes. However, when I toyed around with the idea of the Headmaster and Wynion meeting up after the prologue meetings, I realised there was no way in hell that Ozpin would not supply Wynion with some training of his own, making Wynion a generally competent huntsman, with slightly below subpar combat skills. Also, if the teachers let Jaune continue when it was clear he was way in over his head, I feel like it means they felt like it was better for him to learn from experience or something.

Edit: Put the long ass note on the bottom instead.

She opened her eyes, and sat up. It was morning in her new dorm-

*WHISTLE*

"GOOOD morning Team RWBY!"

"WHAT IN THE WORLD IS WRONG WITH YOU!?" Weiss yelled.

"Now that you're awake, we can officially begin our first order of business." Ruby declared cheerfully.

"Excuse me?" Who was SHE to order… Oh right, that wasn't a dream…

Her blonde sister behind her cut in, "Decorating!"

"What?"

"We still have to unpack," Blake opened her luggage, letting her possessions spill out to the floor. "And clean."

Ruby blew the whistle again, causing Blake and Weiss to wince.

"Alright! Weiss, Blake, Yang, and their fearless leader Ruby have begun their first-"

"ALRIGHT! WHO THE FUCK IS BLOWING THAT GOD FORSAKEN… whistle..." Wynion burst into the room, faltering as he made eye contact with a smirking Ruby. Their insufferable team leader simply gave him a shove out of the room, and locked the door. She pettily blew the whistle one last time before Blake snatched the cursed thing from Ruby's hands.

As if nothing happened, Ruby continued, "As I was saying, Team RWBY have begun their first mission. Banzai!"

"Rough start?" Jaune opened the door with a bleary smirk.

"Shut up." The hooded faunus slunk down the hall, looking a bit depressed.

He let out a yawn, before Jaune decided to close the door and face the madness that was Norra eating potato chips while Ren chased her wearing Pyrrha's-

Probably better not to think about it, actually.

Jaune opened the bathroom door and decided to take a moment of peace by a warm shower.

Apparently, Ruby paid attention to the fact that his dorm was next door down the hall from her's. Jokes on her though, she would have to talk to him if she wanted her scroll back.

And all of her teammate's scrolls as well.

He walked out of the dorm building and across the campus to the tower. He had about an hour and a half before he had to go to class, but he needed to meet Ozpin first thing in the mornings every day apparently. He waited patiently for the elevator to arrive at the top.

The doors opened to the sight of Ozpin frowning as he read some file on his desk. The headmaster looked up, and gestured to Wynion to come in as he put away whatever it was that he was doing.

"Good morning Wynion, I hope you slept well. Have you been keeping up with your exercises?" He greeted his new student.

"Yeah, I've been absorbing the magic I've collected, what's with the extra period before school?".

"You will be meeting with me for an hour before and after school, for supplementary training and magic lessons." Ozpin took the mug he set aside and began sipping from his coffee.

Wynion stretched. "Ah, so we're continuing where we left off, huh?"

"That would be correct."

"So, should we start in a place that can handle explosions or…?"

Ozpin smiled lightly, "I assure you, this office was built to last."

"Monsters. Demons. Prowlers of the night. Yes, the creatures of grimm have many names. But I merely refer to them as prey." Weiss studiously took notes of the professor as he took a long pause.

Less of a pause, and more of an awkward silence if she was being honest.

"Uh… And you shall too, upon graduating from this prestigious academy. Now, as I was saying, Vale, as well as the other three kingdoms, are safe havens in an otherwise treacherous world." He carried on with the lecture.

"Our planet is absolutely teeming with creatures that would love nothing more than to tear you to pieces. And that's where we come in. Huntsman! Huntresses…" He winked at Yang, "Individuals who have sworn to protect those who cannot protect themselves. From what you ask? Why... The very world!" To the shock of all that were present and for what was likely the first first time in the history of Port's lectures, someone cheered with enthusiasm.

Port quickly recovered from his shock and returned with renewed enthusiasm, "That is what you are training to become. But first, a story. A tale of a young, handsome, man. Me. When I was a boy…"

Ruby took out a piece of paper and finally began writing things down.

"... Despite smelling of cabbages, my grandfather was a wise man…"

The immature girl lifted her paper to show the rest of her team, giggling. Weiss wasn't even going to give the dignity of a description of the idiotic things she did on that page. Yang started to laugh hysterically.

"In the end the beowolf was no match for my sheer tenacity. And I returned to my village with the beast in captivity and my head held high. Celebrated, as a hero." Professor Port bowed as her insufferable "team leader" enabled Yang.

"The moral of this story? A true huntsman must be honorable," Weiss glared at the imitator of such a calling with disdain.

"A true huntsman must be dependable."

Her team leader couldn't even remember what time it was.

"A true huntsman must be strategic."

She was so stupid,

"Well educated."

She hadn't even graduated from her own school, and yet she was chewing out others because they didn't do the same.

"And wise!"

HOW DID SHE GET STUCK WITH SUCH A TERRIBLE TEAM LEADER? IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN-

"So, who among you believes themselves to be the embodiment of these traits?" Weiss's hand shot up immediately at that offer,

"I do, sir!" She declared.

Port glanced at her, "Well then, let's find out." He gestured towards the cage in the corner, "Step forward, and face your opponent."

He had been trying to get Ruby to talk to him so she could calm down. But no matter what, every time he tried to approach her, she just gave him a look. It was a look of distrust, and worry. He didn't know why she was this bothered by the fact that she thought he faked his way into Beacon. Well, technically he did fake his way into the school, but Wynion didn't really do that, Ozpin did.

In the end, he settled for sitting in the back, stewing over his thoughts, like he usually did. Like he always did. It was weird not being able to flip up his hood to think, he had never been without it before-

He was interrupted by the squeals of the Boarbatusk squealing as it died. Weiss was glaring at Ruby, breathing heavily.

"I'm afraid that's all the time we have for today. Be sure to cover the assigned readings and, stay vigilant. Class dismissed."

"Sheesh, what's with her?" He heard Jaune ask no one in particular.

Qrow groaned as he read the message Oz sent to his phone. He had to watch the kid he was so obssessed with for a bit, since Ozpin would be busy.

They both sat across from each other in silence, silently challenging the other to do something to antagonise the other with.

"-I GOT ENOUGH COOKIES FOR ALL OF US!" Ruby declared.

Qrow and the kid met their eyes, silently deciding then and there to make a temporary alliance. It would take both of them to survive.

I've just realised I don't really have a plan for the first week of school. I'm winging it here. Also, I have an essay (two actually) I need to do. Mrmpgh...

I'll probably be silent for around a week somepoint soon. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETS GOOOOOOO! I AM SURE THAT I'LL HAVE A BIT OF PROBLEMS BUT WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Oh yeah, I didn't know what to call this chapter, haven't planned out all the details. And the wording of Yang in the last chapter isn't an error, Ruby isn't (primarily) angry over the fact that Wynion could get hurt.

ALL RIGHTY THEN. OKAY, SO LEMME TELL Y'ALL OF A FEW CHANGES TO THIS STORY.

Okay, so first things first, I decided to sit down and make a checklist for what I want to do in the first week, since I already have the ideas, just needed to put it to a document. And through all of that, I have determined that the best course of action to take is to settle on a (not really) forbidden and sometimes frowned upon technique.

SELF INSERT!

NOW NOW! Before you exit the story and swear vengence upon me, let me explain what I mean. See, Wynion was actually supposed to be based around the archetype (I think it's an archetype, I dunno for sure) of being the person who wears the mask of indifference and seems to be the furthest thing from innocent, but is in actuality child-like and extremely caring of people.

I wrote his character to be this way, because my own real life personality is somewhat like that. Somewhat being the key word. I realised however, that the story would infinitely improve if I leaned in more towards my own personality, and before you get really bored, I got a lot of issues, and I ain't afraid to use 'em (ooh, I sound like Wynnie!). So, I will declare this new change. STARTING NOW:

Spoilers (Read it ya pussy):

Now, I am going to lean on the mask component of his personality a bit more, and adopt it to be my own personality (embrace my edge), which is this:

He has two layers to his personality

One: The mask which is indifferent to all, with the exception of his close friends. He steals and takes whatever he needs. He is callous, and uncaring of anyone he deems unimportant.

Two: A child-like innocence when it comes to the people he loves the most, willing to do anything (and I truly mean anything) for them and to keep them with him.

Why is this a change ya need to know? Well, Wynion is gonna be revealed instead to be slightly more obssessive about people than y'all been led to believe. WHICH DOES NOT MEAN HE'S GONE TO WALK THE PATH OF THE YANDERE SILLY YOU. It just means that he takes people very seriously (this phrase here will be explained later, but I won't spoil everything).

That arc I've been bragging about and acting as though you people are annoyed by it (I'm certain y'all are actually annoyed now considering this is the fourth or fifth time I've mentioned it in editing)? That's still here. This isn't an SI character, just similar personality.

I will let slip one plot related spoiler though, (I can't believe I've spelled her name wrong in so many places) Nora or Penny will be Wynion's first non-Ruby real friend. It's actually weird and I legitamitely didn't plan for how they have so much shit in common...
