HEY Y'ALL I'M HERE!
"Hey sis," Yang lay on the bed as she greeted Ruby with a mildly concerned tone, "You feeling better?"
"Yeah..."
"Handled things with Weiss?"
Ruby sighed as she closed the door to the dorm room, "Yeah, kinda... Well, not yet, but I have a plan."
"You seen your boy-toy? He owes the team a few phones."
Her cute little sister blinked, then realised what Yang was talking about. "H-he isn't my 'boy-toy'."
"I mean, your little bundle of snuggles?" Yang grinned.
Ruby groaned as she climbed up to her bunk, throwing herself face down on the pillow. "Yaaaaang. Stop it, we aren't dating."
"Ruby, you don't need to hide it from me. Honestly, I'm proud of you. Not so much of him, but you seem to have him under control. At least, before you two got distant."
The red reaper looked up from her pillow, glaring down at her sister with her face Ruby red, "We. Aren't. Dating." She sighed, "I talked to him and got the phones back."
"You work out your differences with your boyfriend too?"
"Yes, and for the last time. WE. AREN'T. DATING." Ruby frowned.
The blonde raised her hands in defeat, "Okay... So why do you sound so disapointed when you say tha-" The words in her mouth were quickly replaced by Ruby's thrown pillow.
"Shut up..." Aha. There was that red rose face...
"I see... So, it's like that then."
Ruby glared at her again. "Like what?" Ooh, she was fiesty today.
"Someone has a cruuuush..."
"..." Her little sister was hiding in her bed again.
Yang wanted to help Ruby, but she had a feeling that most of her techniques would not be... easy for her sister to handle.
Well actually, there was an idea that might work...
"Hey Ruby?"
"..." Awwwe, she was sulking. Adorable.
"Tell you what, I'll stop bothering you about this, if you'll tell me how you two met."
"... Promise?"
Yang smirked, "Of course."
"Well..."
"Children, before you are Huntsman lockers. You may recall using them on your first day in initiation. It functions much the same way a normal locker does, but with a few key modifications." Glynda Goodwitch pushed her glasses up as she addressed the crowd, "Tomorrow will be the first day of combat class, so it is essential you know how the system works."
Wynion lazily listened to the blonde teacher as he leaned back on a locker. He knew how the system worked, as did Ruby. They once spent an afternoon going over the schematics for the older versions, trying to figure out how to either make it more efficient or make it weaponised. He shivered, remembering her terrifying idea for a locker full of-
"Hey! WHOAH!" cried Jaune right behind him. He would probably be fine-
"Get me out of here!" Jaune's muffled voice pleaded, banging on the locker door. It wasn't that bad, he wouldn't-
WOOOOOOSH
Wynion turned around to see a locker launched into the air, given directions to a preset location. He was pretty sure he heard Jaune's voice inside…
Whoops, I could have helped. Should have helped. Damn.
The only other student in the vicinity was… What was his name? Dave? No, that was his teammate. It started with a "c"-
"Cardin Winchester! Why did you launch that locker young man!?" Ms. Goodwitch demanded as the whole class switched over their attention to the smug student.
"Sorry teach, I just got excited when you explained how the-"
"He pushed Jaune into a locker and launched him outside the school grounds." Wynion cut in.
Glynda and Cardin immediately started glaring at him, and everyone else stared at the scene.
"And why didn't you help Jaune out or call me?" Glynda asked, voice dangerously low. Wynion shrugged.
"I assumed that Jaune fell into the locker or something. I mean, it wouldn't have been the first time he did something stupid or clumsy like that. I also don't hear Jaune anymore either, so I'm pretty sure he was in that locker…"
Cardin grit his teeth, "Shut your mouth animal-"
"MR. WINCHESTER! MY OFFICE. NOW. THE REST OF YOU ARE DISMISSED." The teacher dragged the teenager and sped out of the locker room.
Everyone was silent, not knowing what to do after that unexpected dismissal.
"Does anyone want to help find Jaune?" Pyrrha asked the quiet students.
Oh that was exhausting. God how exhausting that was… Jaune hadn't landed far from the school, but he had landed below the cliffs. It was a pain, getting him out. Wynion stuck around the whole process, and even helped some… That had to count for something, right? Shame he had to drag himself to his evening session with Ozpin now...
"Hey doggy!" Someone yelled out. That someone really should be informed that domesticated animals aren't allowed on the premises. Wynion felt a hand grab his shoulder. He turned around to see a group of students behind the girl who grabbed his shoulder- did he spot Cardin over there…?
"Hey! Don't you know that domesticated animals aren't allowed on the premises?" Huh, she did know.
"The dog isn't mine…" He groaned out, turning to leave. The girl's hand wouldn't leave his shoulder. "Lemme go… I'm tired…" Wynion yawned.
"I'm talking to you, mutt." Mutt? Oh… Realisation flooded his brain. Wynion shifted uncomfortably, head lowered. The students surrounding him laughed.
"Hey, it looks like the puppy knows when it has fucked up." The girl laughed. She looked over to where Cardin's face appeared, "Hey big boy, I believe you wanted to give him something?" The mass of students parted for the well-built mace wielder. The girl and another student went behind him, holding the tired silver-haired boy in place.
Cardin stood in front of Wynion, cracking his knuckles, "You are so right Cerulean. So. So. Right…" Grinning like a madman, he gifted the faunus with a bruising punch to his stomach. Wynion grunted, he had been hit with worse by Crescent Rose. He needed them to step up the intensity. Cardin went for another punch to his probably purpled area by now.
And another.
It was weak.
Another strike.
Too weak.
His stomach received another gratifying blow.
He deserved worse.
"Faunus like you put my parents out of work in the mines." The boy to his left restraining him whispered in his wolf ear, before spitting in it.
"I've had my fun! Someone else take over!" Cardin called out to the crowd. Wynion spotted a few recording his punishment.
"No, wait. I want to give the animal something to remember." Cerulean stopped the failure of a tormenter.
"Hey mutt, heel." Wynion dropped to his knees, bringing everyone to laughter. Cerulean seemed to be dying of laughter as she ruffled his hair and ears.
His ears.
"G-hah… Goo-hahahAHA… Good boy."
"Let, fucking, go." He glared at the girl.
"Oh now he starts barking..." She grinned.
"YOU AREN'T ALLOWED-"
A fist slammed into his head, and his head went swimming in the lake of laughter.
Another fist pushed him below the surface to drown.
Why do I struggle? I deserve every second of this...
A knee came up against his nose, hard.
And as the faunus's vision returned, his eyes rested on a shiny little instrument.
Cerulean presented a razorblade to him.
"Have you ever gotten a haircut? Shaved the hair from your ears? It's getting kind of shaggy, maybe I'll make myself some mittens or something…" The crowd laughed and mocked the disgusting faunus. It was a familiar sensation as the student put the purifying razor to his right ear…
BANG!
The gunshot startled the students, and the razor nicked his ear, but not deep enough. Not as much as he-
"You touch another hair on his head, and I will shoot you." The faunus looked around for the voice, but couldn't identify it. It was familiar though…
"Firing weapons on campus is illegal you know! Especially at unarmed students!" A girl yelled out from the mob.
POW POW POW POW POW!
"So is the harassment and discrimination of another student because of his race." The students groaned from the bullets as they scattered. They screamed at the voice for being a psychopath for shooting bullets at them and screamed obscenities of being a faunus lover or White Fang member.
Soon, he was left alone. The sun had already set, he probably had missed his session. Stupid faunus traits-
"Hey." The voice greeted him from behind, "I'm not gonna hurt you."
The dirty faunus tiredly turned around, falling on his ass. It was a teammate of Ruby's- Blake.
"Why did you stop them?" He asked.
"Because it isn't right." She extended a hand in offering to the wolf, to which he just stared at the idiot that hand belonged to.
"I deserved every sec-"
"No you don't- no one does." Wynion regarded the black haired bitch with judgmental eyes.
"It's my fault I have these ears. It's my fault I decided to be a burden. It's my fault-"
Blake grabbed him and slung his arm over her shoulder, "Shh… it's not your fault…"
Yes it is.
"Yes it is."
Yes it is.
"Yes it is."
Yes it is.
"Yes it is."
Yes it is.
"Yes it is."
Yes it is.
"Yes it is."
Yes it is.
"Yes it is."
Yes it is.
"Yes it is."
"Yes it is."
Yes it is.
"Yes it is."
"... Shh… She's your best friend right? I'll call Ruby-"
"NO!" He begged her, "Please don't… Don't let her see me like the failure I am."
Blake sighed, and began to dial on her scroll.
"Blake. Please, I don't want her to worry… Please… I'll do anything… Just don't do this. I'll be fine."
Blake paused for a minute with a conflicted look on her face, then let loose a heavy sigh.
"I won't call her, but you WILL let the staff know about this incident or I tell her."
He nodded gratefully at his rescuer, giving her a sad smile.
"Let's get you back to your room, You've had a long day…"
Whoooweee... That was spicy.
I was conflicted during the whole scene between Wynion and and his grooming session between having Ruby or Blake rescue Wynion. It was always planned for Blake to do it, but I realised how fuckin' great the dialogue would be if his savior rolled up and put a bunch o' .50 cal's in them people of rather low morals. Might write scenario later. Heh. ANYWAYS PARTY TIME NEXT! oh wait I forgot to put that part in...
Eh, do it next chapter, I still have work to do, but it feels SO NICE TO WRITE WHAT I WANT AGAIN! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Oh yeah, Lord Archlight, I shall make use of your comment next chapter if you are wondering, never had the appropriate place to put it. :|
I'll be going back to those little times Oz and Wynion interact, but instead it'll be Qrow and Wynion interacting. I didn't notice until I started writing Qrow how similar the two are in manerisms and to a degree, themselves.
Also, I have repeatedly missed a possible plot point or event or thing that could happen in the story, usually because I forget about it durring editing. I need to make a list...
While Yang definitely falls into the overprotective sister role, she is a growing girl herself, just like Ruby. And, I think she is more inclined to help her sister learn about the world safely, rather than secret her away. Nah, their dad is more likely to do that honestly.
