Episode 235: Fight For The Meteorite
A little while later, Sora, Kairi, and Pikachu have arrived at the foot of Mount Chimney and decided to take the cable car to go over it.
"There it is; Mount Chimney," Sora said.
"And we can get there by cable car instead of climbing up," Kairi said.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said.
As they got in, they took their seats in the cable car. Sora placed his arm around Kairi's shoulder.
"Glad we caught it jut in time, right?" Sora asked his girlfriend.
"It sure was," Kairi said.
"Hey, wait!" A new voice came calling. "Hold that cable car!" The voice came from a man with long blonde hair tied in a long ponytail. With him is a woman with long brown hair. He had her by the hand, running. She appears to be nine months pregnant. They got in just in the nick of time. She panted hard as she had ran a marathon. He sat her down. "Take it easy, honey. You should be able to catch your breath."
"It didn't help that I had to run. You know too much stress isn't good for the baby," the woman said.
"Sorry, hun, it's just our baby is a ticking time bomb and it'll go off at any moment," the man said.
"I know. I want our baby to be born in Lavaridge Town just as bad as you do," the woman said. "It means the world to me." Sora and Kairi couldn't help but smile since they could imagine how cute the baby will be. They didn't want to pry into their business and took on the sights.
Meanwhile on the mountain, it is found to be a volcanic mountain. A scientist along with two rocky Pokémon float along with him. One is an orange spherical Pokemon with eight spiny rock formations sticking out from the sides of its body, thus giving it the appearance of the sun. It also has tiny, yellow rocks embeded in its orange body. It has small eyes that appears to be squinted and the pupils are red. The other is a yellow, moon-like Pokémon with a dark circle around a small, red eye. In the middle of the crest, there is a "horn". All over its body, there are small, crater-like circles.
"The meterorite should be around her somewhere. We're on a mountain made of rocks and I don't see the one we're looking for. I guess you can say we're between a rock and a hard place," he laughs. "Okay, Solrock, Lunatone, let's keep searching. Solrock and Lunatone nodded. THey kept going.
Team Aqua enters the cable car controls and the two staff workers are caught by surprise.
"Who are you?! You're not allowed in here!" One of the staff workers said. One of the grunts took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Crawdaunt! Bubble Beam!" The grunt ordered. The Crawdaunt came out of the Pokéball and fired Bubble Beam right at them. The grunts ties them up and took control of the cable car, making it stop.
Back on the cable car, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and the other couple were confsed by why the cable car suddenly stopped.
"Hey, what's going on?" The man asked.
"Why did the cable car just stop without warning?" Sora asked. He spots the emergency phone and he dialed. "Gotta get this thing moving." The phone rings and no answer is coming. "Hello? Hello! Hello!" He kept trying and he gave up and hung up. "No answer."
"Something is definitely wrong here," Kairi said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Either the generator overheated or someone's cut the power," the man guessed.
"Not only that, it's a long way down," Sora said, looking down. "Maybe there's something we can use to get out."
"Wouldn't it be better if we just sit put and wait for someone to notice us missing and come to rescue us?" The man asked.
"That might take too long. Besides, your wife might have the baby at any moment. You said it yourself," Sora said. He knew Sora was right, it might take hours or days anyone would notice them missing. Sora checked one of the cupboards and saw a rope tied to a grappling hook. "Bingo!" Just as Sora took the rope and the man gave him a boost. Sora spun the hook at the end of the rope before he threw it at the support tower. "Good! Made it!" He tied the other end securely as Kairi was lifted up by the man.
"Is it tight enough?" Kairi asked.
"It is," Sora said, making sure. He looked down to the couple below. "You gonna be okay down there?"
"We're going to be just fine. I need to stay behind and take care of my wife while you're gone," the man said. He looked at her and she starts to sweat up a storm. "Please hurry."
"Okay," Sora said.
"We'll get help and get this thing moving in no time," Kairi added.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
Sora, Kairi, and Pikachu carefully and slowly crawled along the rope, not looking down; not as easy as it would seem as Pikachu looked down and his face turned white before regaining his yellow completion. Sora and Kairi reached the nearby tower as Pikachu staggered behind. As soon as they reached the end, the rope at the other end got loose and fell from the other side. Sora and Kairi looked at each other.
"You think we should use the rope to climb down?" Sora asked.
"It looks like it's the only way to get down," Kairi reasoned.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Right," Sora agreed. They climbed down to the ground and headed up for the mountain.
Meanwhile, the scientist and the two Pokémon found what they were looking for; it was a meteorite.
"Yes, just the one I've been looking for," the scientist said.
"Just what we were thinking," Tabitha called out from behind. The scientist and his Pokémon were confused and they found themselves quickly surrounded by the grunts.
"Who are you people? And why are you here?" The scientist demanded.
"We are here for that meteorite, professor," Tabitha said. "So, if you would kindly hand over that meteorite if you please."
"I shall do no such thing! I need this meteorite for my research! You can never have it!" The professor argued.
"That rock holds properties that you can never imagine," Tabitha said.
"What are you talking about?" THe professor asked.
"He is talking about properties that will benefit us very much," Courtney said.
"Wrong! It won't benefit you one bit," a woman's voice called out. He turned to see Shelly, Matt, and several Team Aqua grunts. Tabitha growled in anger at the sight of them.
"Not you again, Team Aqua," Tabitha said.
"Good to see you too, Tabitha," Shelly greeted with a hint of sarcasm.
"It's just like you to show up fashionably late for the party, Shelly," Tabitha said.
"The way I see it, I'm right on time.. And this nice man is just about to hand over that metoerite," Shelly said.
"The altitude must be affecting your brain," Tabitha said.
"We were here first and you should go back in sea and enjoy it while you still can," Courtney said.
"I say we wring out those Team Magma chumps by their necks," Matt scowled.
"I agree, Matt. It looks like they were wanting a fight anyway," Shelly said.
"Mightyena! Golbat! Camerupt! Go!" Tabitha called out as the grunts threw several Pokéballs and let out several Mightyena, Golbat, and medium-sized camel Pokémon. They had three, blue circles on each side of its plump body. They have four, short, orange legs, three orange hairs on their heads and has an orange tail. They also has two stone humps (similar to volcanoes) on their backs. Some of them have bigger humps than some of the others.
"Walrein! Crawdaunt! Sharpedo! Go!" Shelly called out. The grunts threw Pokéballs and they let out several Crawdaunt, several blue walrus-like Pokémon with white puffy hair on their heads. Their flippers and tails are wide. And there were several shark-like Pokémon with dark cyan blue color on top with a yellow star and two grooves on its top fin and white with a single groove on the bottom. Two black rectangular gills on each side with black, red and white eyes and teeth.
"Mightyena! Snarl! Camerupt! Flamethrower! Golbat! Air Cutter!" Tabitha ordered.
"Sharpedo! Hydro Pump! Crawdaunt! Bubble Beam! Walrein! Ice Beam!" Shelly ordered.
Both sides fired their attacks, making the scientist, Solrock, and Lunatone retreat with the meteorite. Courtney and Matt saw him run off while his two Pokémon floated with him.
"He's getting away!" Courtney exclaimed. Tabitha and Shelly saw him run off as well.
"Courtney, take some our crew to go after him," Tabitha instructed.
"You've got it," Courtney said, pointing to some of the grunts. "You, you, you, and you; with me." The Grunts acknowledged and followed.
"Matt, take four with you and get that meteorite," Shelly instructed.
"On it," Matt said. He turned to four of the grunts. "You four, with me!"
"Yes sir!" The Team Aqua grunts said. Matt and the grunts began their pursuit of the professor and the metoerite.
Sora, Kairi, and Pikachu ran up the mountain to get some help when they saw the scientist and his Pokémon running towards them at an alarming rate.
"Hey! Look out!" Sora yelled before he bumped right into him.
"Sora!" Kairi exclaimed.
"Ow, that hurts," Sora said.
"It sure does," the scientist agreed. "I am terribly sorry about running into you like that."
"Don't worry about it. Where's the fire anyway?" Sora asked.
"I'm being chased by some strange strangers," the scientist explained.
"Strange strangers?" Sora asked.
"Who are you talking about?" Kairi asked.
Before she could get an answer, they hid just so they wouldn't be seen as Courntey and her squad came running after him.
"He had to come this way!" Courntey said. Neither Sora nor Kairi were happy to see them one bit.
"Team Magma," Sora growled.
"I take it that you have seen them before," the professor assumed.
"We have," Sora said.
"We saw them in Oldale Town when we arrived in the Hoenn region. We really don't know much about them and what they're planning," Kairi said. They saw Matt and his squad run by as well. "Not Team Aqua too."
"I had a feeling they would be here too. What do they want?" Sora asked.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"They are after this," the scientist said, showing them the metoerite.
"All that over a rock?" Sora asked.
"This rock is a metoerite that crashed landed on this mountain millions of years ago. Before I forget my manners, my name is Professor Cosmo and I have been studying metoerites for many years now. And these two are my companions, Solrock and Lunatone. Sora took out his Pokédex and scanned them both.
Solrock, the Metorite Pokémon
Type: Rock/Psychic
Solar energy is the source of its power, so it is strong during the daytime. When it spins, its body shines. When it rotates itself, it gives off light similar to the sun, thus blinding its foes.
Lunatone, the Meteorite Pokémon
Type: Rock/Psychic
Lunatone becomes active around the time of the full moon. Instead of walking, it moves by floating in midair. The Pokémon's intimidating red eyes cause all those who see it to become transfixed with fear.
"Meteorite Pokémon, huh? Appropriate Pokémon for a meoteorite researcher to have," Sora said, putting his Pokédex away. "Anyway, my name is Sora and this is my girlfriend Kairi. We were on our way to get help and to get a couple in a cable car and the woman there is pregnant."
"I have a strong suspension that either one of them might be behind your predicament. They must not want interference from any outside sources," Professor Cosmo said.
"Could that metoerite might have some kind of power they could use to make whatever they want to happen happen?" Kairi asked.
"Most likely, I'm afraid. All I wanted to do is study it. The universe is full of so many questions and mysteries, I don't know where to begin," Professor Cosmo said. "I bet you two would like to hold it for a moment." He handed it to Sora and it felt a little heavier than expected.
"This this heavier than it looks," Sora said. He handed it to his girlfriend and she could see he was right.
"I swear it looked so much lighter," Kairi said. She hands it back to Professor Cosmo.
"In appearence it did. This metoerite is just a peice of an asteroid that fell to earth long ago and left this behind as a result," Professor Cosmo said. "If this metoerite has some sort of power, then it worth researching instead of using it for some evil intent." Sora knew he was right because he didn't want to think about how dangerous such will be in the wrong hands, which could be just about anyone's hands; anyone who wants to use its power to harm innocent people. Team Magma and Team Aqua wanted just as bad, but he figured Team Rocket would want just as bad if they learned about it.
"We better get that Meteorite out of here fast," Sora said.
"What about Team Magma and Team Aqua, Sora?" Kairi asked.
"We'll deal with them when we come across them," Sora said. "So, I have Pikachu, Treecko, and Electrike to deal with their Water Types, and I can have Mudkip, Corphish, and Mudbray deal with their Fire Types." Sora took out his Pokédex and exchanged Nuzleaf, Seviper, Zangoose, and Torchic for Mudkip, Corphish, Mudbray, and Electrike.
"I also have Plusle and Minun to help Pikachu and Electrike," Kairi said.
Just then, Courtney approached them from behind.
"That you do," Courntey said from behind. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Professor Cosmo, Solrock, and Lunatone all turned to see Courtney and the Team Magma grunts. "Like it's going to make any difference, Sora and Kairi." They were aback when she addressed them by their names. Sora shouldn't be surprised since someone would know them.
"And you are?" Sora asked.
"The name's Courtney; an Admin of Team Magma," Courntey said, taking out a Pokéball. She threw it and it lets out a Camerupt. Smoke comes out from the humps. Sora took out his Pokédex and scanned the Pokémon. The image shows the Camerupt's humps are smaller.

The humps on Camerupt's back are formed by a transformation of its bones. They sometimes blast out molten magma. This Pokémon apparently erupts often when it is enraged.
Sora puts his Pokédex away and takes out a Pokéball.
"Kairi, I'll deal with her, you and Professor Cosmo make a break for it," Sora said.
"Okay!" Kairi said. She turned to the meteorologist. "Come on!"
"Right behind you!" Professor Cosmo said. He, Solrock, and Lunatone followed her. Courntey turned to the grunts.
"You go after the girl and the professor, and get that meteorite! I'll stay here and teach this spiky-haired nuisance some manners," Courtney said.
"Yes ma'am!" The grunts said. They began their pursuit of them as Sora had stayed behind to battle Courtney.
"You ready to play with the big girls, little boy?" Courntey taunted. "I will warn you, I play rough."
"I'm ready for anything you've got," Sora said. He threw his Pokéball. "Go! Mudbray!" Sora's Mudbray skids the ground upon entry.
"For the record, I warned you. Camerupt! Eruption!" Courntey ordered. Camerupt fired flames from its back and headed towards the donkey Pokémon.
"Mudbray! Dodge and use Bud Bomb!" Sora ordered. Mudbray avoids Camerupt's attack and fired Mud Bomb right at Camerupt.
"Dodge and use Rock Slide!" Courntey ordered. Camerupt avoids Mudbray's attack and hurls rocks right at Mudbray.
"Dodge and use High Horsepower!" Sora ordered. Mudbray's body became surrounded by an orange aura and charges towards Camerupt.
"Camerupt! You use High Horsepower too!" Courtney ordered.
Camerupt's body became surround by the same orange aura and charges towards Mudbray. Both collided with each other, and both held their ground. Mudbray tries to hold off his large opponent, but Camerupt was much bigger and stronger than he was. Mudbray found himself being pushed back, but he refused to give in.
Over to Tabitha and Shelly, Team Magma's Pokémon have quickly pushed back Team Aqua's Pokémon.
"Commander, the battle is pushing towards their favor," one of the grunts said.
"Retreat for now," Shelly commanded.
"Right!" The grunts said as they called back their Pokémon.
"Leaving so soon, Shelly? I was starting to enjoy it," Tabitha said. Team Aqua had retreated as he turns on his communicator. "A Squad, report. Have you secured the meteorite yet?"
"No sir. Not yet. We are currently in pursuit of Professor Cosmo. He is in the company of a girl," the grunt said over his com.
"What about Courtney?" Tabitha asked.
"She is engaged in a battle with the girl's male associate," the grunt said.
"First we have Team Aqua and now some kids? What's next?" Tabitha asked. "Get that meteorite at any costs!"
"Sir!" The grunt said, breaking contact. He turned to the other grunts.
"Head for the summit and get the laser ready," Tabitha ordered.
"Yes sir," one of the grunts said. The grunts did exactly that as they had a large machinr and it is facing the lava.
Over to Kairi and Professor Cosmo, Team Magma are still in pursuit as suddenly, without warning, Bubble Beam and Ice Beam came firing down at the grunts, making them retreat.
"Where did that come from?" Kairi asked.
"From us, kid," a new voice called back. It turns out that it was Matt that said it. "How about you be a good girl and hand over that metoerite?" Kairi stood her ground.
"No!" Kairi definitely said.
"I'm not gonna ask again, brat," Matt snarled.
"Why do you even want it?" Kairi asked.
"We want it because Team Magma wants it. We, members of Team Aqua are doing everyone a favor by making Team Magma fail," Matt said. Kairi wasn't buying it.
"You plan on doing that by making people suffer? You're no different from Team Magma! You're just as bad as they are!" Kairi stated.
"Frankly, I don't care what you think. You can think whatever you want about me, because you don't really understand how the world works," Matt said.
"The only way you're going to get the meteorite is through me!" Kairi stated, taking out a Pokéball. Matt chuckled.
"So, it's a fight you want? Normally, I don't fight girls, but in your case, I'm making an exception. Matt doesn't lose that easily," Matt said. He also took out a Pokéball. "Go! Sharpedo!"
"Angel! Go!" Kairi called out as her Eevee entered the battle.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"Sharpedo! Ice Fang!" Matt ordered. Sharpedo comes at Angel with its teeth emitting ice.
"Dodge it, Angel!" Kairi called out. She avoids Sharpedo's Ice Fang attack. "Now use Swift!" Angel fired Swift and it pelted the shark-like Pokémon.
"Sharpedo! Slash!" Matt ordered. Sharpedo came and swiped at Angel with its dorsal fin. "Now use Poison Fang!" Sharpedo comes at Angel with its teeth emitting poison.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Kairi ordered. Angel avoids Sharpedo's attack by running under neath it.
Over to Sora against Courtney, Mudbray and Camerupt were still neck to neck, but Camerupt had overpowered the donkey Pokémon.
"Mudbray! Hang in there! Use Mud Bomb!" Sora ordered. Mudbray fired Mud Bomb right at the camel-like Pokémon, but it just avoided the attack.
"Camerupt! Use Eruption!" Courtney ordered. Camerupt sends its fire attack towards Mudbray, hitting him. Mudbray had some burns on him, but still standing. Mudbray struggled to stay on its hooves. "Use Rock Slide!" Camerupt sends Rock Slide right at Mudbray and he gets pelted by the rocks.
"Mudbray!" Sora gasped.
"Pika!" Pikachu added.
Mudbray was still standing after all the abuse he was taking from his larger opponent. Courtney was impressed by how he was able to take it.
"I guess what I heard about Mudbray is true; Mudbray are pretty stubborn Pokémon. But, it's going down. Camerupt! High Horsepower!" Courtney ordered. Camerupt charges right towards Mudbray again and lands a hit onto him. Mudbray struggled to get back up.
"Hang in there, Mudbray! I know you can do it!" Sora said.
"Pika!" Pikachu added.
Mudbray had to stay in it. He looked right at Camerupt and saw how bigger and stronger it was, but he wasn't going to let the size oand strength hold him back, so he began to evolve, mush to the surprise to Sora, Pikachu, and Courtney. Mudbray had evolved right into a Mudsdale. The newly evolved Mudsdale whinnies once the evolution process has been completed.
"Mudbray evolved into Mudsdale," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said astounded.
Courntney scoofed, "Big deal. Your Mudbray may have evolved, but it still no match for my Camerupt! Use Eruption!"
"Mudsdale! Use Mub Bomb!" Sora ordered. Mudsdale fired a much stronger Mud Bomb than he he let out when he was a Mudbray and it struck Camerupt. "Now use High Horsepower!" Mudsdale charged while surrounded by an orange aura and struck Camerupt hard. Camerupt had taken some heavy damage. Courtney saw she was in a losing battle and calls back her Camerupt. "What's the matter, Courtney? Don't tell me you're calling it quits, already."
"Just think of it as a tactical retreat. Next time we cross paths, Sora, neither one of us is going anywhere until the battle's over," Courtney vowed as she retreated. Once Courtney was gone, Sora got on Mudsdale's back and went to the path where Kairi and Professor Cosmo had gone with Pikachu jumping onto the draft horse Pokémon's back.
Over to Kairi and Matt, both of Angel and Sharpedo were giving it everything they had. Angel was panting heavily as she had some injuries on her body as did the shark-like Pokémon.
"Hang in there, Angel," Kairi said.
"Sharpedo! Ice Fang!" Matt ordered. Sharpedo comes at Angel with its teeth emitting ice once more.
"Angel! Dodge wh Quick Attack!" Kairi ordered. Angel avoided by using her speed attack and struck the ground instead. Sora rode in on Mudsdale as Sora saw the battle bewteen his girlfriend and a Team Aqua member. Sora looked at Sharpedo and took out his Pokédex.
Sharpedo, the Brutal Pokémon
The evolved form of Carvanha
Type: Water/Dark
Nicknamed "the bully of the sea," Sharpedo is widely feared. Its cruel fangs grow back immediately if they snap off. Just one of these Pokémon can thoroughly tear apart a supertanker.
Sora puts his Pokédex away and gestures Mudsdale to get going. Mudsdale obeys and heads towards his girlfriend.
"Kairi!" Sora called out. Kairi turned and saw her boyfriend riding on Mudadale's back. She knew his Mudbray had evolved. Angel turned and saw Pikachu along with Sora. Her face lit up at the sight of the mouse Pokémon.
"Sora," Kairi could only say.
"Eevee," Angel said.
Matt wasn't going to have it.
"Grunts! Get rid of that kid!" Matt told them. The grunts went to get to Sora, but he wasn't gonna have it.
"No you don't! Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu landed a shock onto the Team Aqua grunts and they fell to the ground and went into unconsciousness.
"You really a real pain in the ass, you little punk!" Matt said. "Sharpedo! Get that punk and those Pokémon! Ice Fang!" Sharpedo forgot about the feale Eevee and went to attack Sora, Pikachu, and Mudsdale. Angel didn't like how it just forgot about her and threatened the Pikachu she fell in love with, so she fired Swift and it struck the brutal Pokémon and it fell to the ground, beaten. Angel's Swift was much stronger than before. Matt was dumbfounded by what he just saw. "No way! My Sharpedo taken down by a puny Eevee?!" He calls back his Sharpedo. "You win this round, little girl, but next time, you won't be so lucky." He retreated.
"Nice one, Kairi," Sora praised her as got off of Mudsdale.
"Thank you, Sora," Kairi said. Pikachu got off as well as Angel ran towards Pikachu and nuzzled him.
"I'm happy that you're okay, Pikachu!" - Angel subtitle.
"I'm fine, Angel. I'm just grateful for that save from that overgrown sardine." - Pikachu subtitle. Angel smiled as she kept nuzzling him, making Pikachu blush.
"I just didn't want to see you getting hurt by that awful Pokémon." - Angel subtitle. Pikachu wrapped his arms around her.
"Now, we gotta get the cabe cars working again and get rid of Team Aqua and Team Magma," Sora said.
"Indeed," Professor Cosmo agreed. "Let's get started right away. Just then, a Golbat comes and swipes the meteorite from his hands. It brought the meteorite to the grunts.
"Got it!" One of the grunts said.
"What should we do about them?" Another grunt asked.
"Just leave 'em. We have what we want," the first grunt said as they took off.
"Come back here with that!" Professor Cosmo demanded.
"They'rre not gonna ge away with this!" Sora said.
"We have to go after them!" Kairi stated.
"Right!" Sora seconded it. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Professor Cosmo, Solrock, and Lunatone all ran after the Team Magma grunts.
Back to Tabitha and his squad, a grunt walked up to him.
"Commander, we just heard from Courtney and her squad. They had secured the metoerite. They're making their way back here as we speak," the grunt reported.
"Good, we can proceed with the experiment. Bring the laser online now," Tabitha said.
"Yes sir," the second grunt said.
"If this experiment is a success, then we'll be much closer to our ultimate goal," Tabitha said, laughing evilly.
Back to the couple on the cable car, the pregnant woman began to go into labor. She screams as she fell on her knees.
"What's wrong? Are you alright?" He asked his wife.
"The baby's coming! The baby's coming now!" She said.
"Well, the baby sure picked a heck of a time to be born!" The man exclaimed. "What are those two doing up there?"
Courntey and her squad came back and placed the metorite in the machine.
"Metorite set," one of the grunts said.
"Check," another grunt said.
"Compartment sealed," the first grunt said.
"Check," the second grunt said.
"All systems ready. Let's report," the first grunt said. They went up to the Team Magma admins.
"Status report?" Tabitha asked.
"Senscors still in the test phase. We will have to switch to manual in critical mass in order to maintain control," the first grunt reported.
"What do you think, Tabitha?" Coutney asked.
"We'll have to get started," Tabitha said. The grunt on the control activates the laser's systems and it points to the lava. The laser fires into the lava. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Professor Cosmo, Solrock, and Lunatone all show up and see what they're doing.
"What are they doing?" Sora asked.
"It looks like they're aiming that laser into the mouth of the volcano," Professor Cosmo said. Sora and Kairi didn't like how that answer came out.
"A volcano?" Kairi gasped.
"You mean to tell me that we were on a volcano this whole time?!" Sora exclaimed.
"Yes, but it has been dormant for quite some time. They must be trying to make it active again," Professor Cosmo said. "And I can bet they plan to use that metorite as their detonator."
"How could they do such a thing?" Kairi asked.
"I am not sure, Kairi, but if we don't stop them, then that lava will come rushing out of there," Professor Cosmo said.
"Then, all we have to do is sneak in a get the metoerite out of that thing," Sora suggested.
"But Sora, they'll see us coming and they'll try to stop us. There's too many of them," Kairi said.
"She's right. I will have to distract them while you two get to the laser," Professor Cosmo said.
That's a plan," Sora said. Professor Cosmo and the two meteorite Pokémon went to distract Team Magma while Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel went to get the meteorite out of the laser.
"Available power output at 82% and climbing," the grunt said. "Approaching critical mass. Activating control system." He pressed a button.
"Yes! Soon the very energy of the earth will be in our control," Tabitha said. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel snuck close to the laser and saw Professor Cosmo and his Pokémon in position.
"Critical mass in twenty seconds," the grunt said.
"Solrock! Solar Beam! Lunatone! Moonblast!" Professor Cosmo ordered. Both Pokémon fired their attacks, making Team Magma flinch. "Up here!" THey turned to see him. "Give me back that meteorite now!" Tabitha growled.
"I have had it with him! Someone take care of him now!" Tabitha said. Most of the grunts went after him while the one on the controls stayed, leaving Tabitha and Courtney behind.
"This is our chance!" Kairi said.
"Then here we go!" Sora said, rushing towards the machine.
"You idiots! You're letting him get away!" Tabitha exclaimed. They reached the machine. Sora looked inside and saw how much power was building up.
"We have to get it out and fast," Sora said.
"Almost at critical mass," the grunt said. "Switching control systems to manual." He pressed a button. "Output stable. All systems go!"
"Good work," Courtney said.
Sora tried to get it opened. He quickly found it was no use.
"It won't budge! It must be sealed," Sora said.
"What do we do now?" Kairi asked.
"If we can't pry it open, then we'll have to break it open," Sora said, turning to his partner. "Pikachu, use Thunderbolt on it!"
Pikachu did and let out a silent Thunderbolt at the machine's compartment to force it open, resulting in a small explosion. This had taken the admins and grunt's notice.
"What the hell was that?!" Tabitha asked. An alarm starts buzzing.
"What's wrong?!" Courtney exclaimed.
"I don't know! Something must have overloaded the control systems! I think it's a malfunction!" The Grunt said.
"Turn it off!" Courtney demanded.
"I can't! It's not responding! And the output is climbing rapidly!" The grunt said.
"What is causing it?!" Tabitha asked as he turned a banging sound. He saw it was Sora and Kairi who was responsible for it. "More like who is causing it!" Courntey saw them.
"It's them again!" Courtney said.
"Those damn meddling kids! I'll get them!" Tabitha said as he came skidding down and ran towards them. Angel slams right into Tabitha, making him wheeze. Professor Cosmo came to the scene and started to push the machine into the lava.
"Professor, what are you doing?" Sora asked.
"Pushing it right into the lava! It's better that no one has it! I wuld rather die before I see it used for evil!" Professor Cosmo said, pushing it right into the lava. The machine and the metoerite both plummet into the lava.
"No! Don't!" Courtney shouted.
The machine explodes inside the lava as Tabitha was furious about losing the machine and the metoerite.
"Let's move out! We're done here!" abitha stated. He, Courtney, and the grunts took their leave and headed towards their aircraft. Sora and Kairi felt sorry for Professor Cosmo since the meteorite fell into the lava, but they knew it was for the best since Team Aqua would have done the same thing anyway.
Speaking of Team Aqua, they were watching the whole scene.
"It looks like we failed since we didn't get the meteorite," Matt said.
"Not completely, Matt," Shelly said. Matt turned to her.
"How come?" Matt asked.
"Because Team Magma's failure is a win for Team Aqua. Now that it is over, we'll have to head on back to the hideout and make our report of their failure," Shelly said.
"Yes!" Matt and the Team Aqua grunts all said as they left. Matt took one last look over to Kairi and proceeded to return to their base.
Over to Team Magma as they were making their getaway.
"It's too bad, because we were so close, but thanks to that couple, we failed our objective," Courtney said.
"I wouldn't call it a failure since we have gained a small hint of knowledge, Courtney," Tabitha said. This confused her.
"Why's that?" Courtney asked.
"We learned the limits of our volcano system," Tabitha said. "And not only that, we were able to foil Team Aqua's plans." Tabitha laughed.
Over to Team Aqua's helicopter, Shelly notices Matt's disposition.
"Something on your mind, Matt?" Shelly asked.
"Just thinking about those kids back on the mountain. They intered with our mission to get the meteorite and we would have gotten it if they hadn't stuck their noses in!" Matt said.
"Yes, we would have, but as long as they were responsibe for Team Magma's downfall, I really don't care. And if those kids do get in our way agiain, then we will deal with them," Shelly said.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Professor Cosmo, Solrock, and Lunatone made it to the cable car control booth and untied the staff workers. They activated the cable car and it arrived with the woman breathing as she is in labor.
"My wife is having the baby! We need a doctor!" The man yelled.
"Don't worry, sir, we'll get a doctor over here right away," one of the staff workers said.
"Plase hurry," the man pleaded.
A doctor had arrived as the woman kept breathing. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel were sitting outside, listening to the whole thing. After what seems to be like an hour, they heard the cries of a newborn baby. Sora and Kairi stuck their heads in and saw the newborn baby in the woman's arms, wrapped in a pink blanket.
"Look at her. Isn't she beautiful?" The woman asked her husband.
"She certainly is," the man agreed.
The couple walked up to them.
"Congrats on the baby," Sora said.
"We're just sorry that we took so long to get you here, because of Team Magma and Team Aqua," Kairi added.
"Don't worry about it. We're just happy that the baby had been birthed safely, but it's too bad that the baby didn't get born in Lavaridge Town like we planned. We never gave up hope," the man said.
"Honey, you just picked the name of our daughter; Hope," she said. The man said with tears streaming from his eyes.
"Hope. That's quite a name," the man said.
"I think it's a beautiful name," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
Sora looked over to his girlfriend and he had the thought of her as a mom once again and how beautifl the baby they will have be.
Professor Cosmo was very grateful for Sora and Kairi for helping him out, despite losing the meteorite.
"Sorry that you lost your meteorite, professor," Sora said.
"Don't worry about it. It was for the best, so I figured I can help you out as my way of repaying you," Professor Cosmo said, leading the couple to a path. "Just take this path right here and it'll get you right to Lavaridge Town."
"Thanks a lot, professor," Sora said.
"It's the least I can do. And good luck with your Gym battle, Sora," Professor Cosmo said.
"Thanks," Sora said.
"And good luck," Kairi added.
They went down the path as Sora and Kairi both held hands. Angel rubbed her head against Pikachu's cheek and he blushed. If he didn't know better, he was falling in love with the female Eevee. Sora and Kairi smiled as their Pokémon were falling for each other.
"Look at that," Sora said.
"Isn't that the cutest thing you have ever seen? I think Pikachu is falling for Angel," Kairi said.
"I think you're right, Kairi," Sora agreed.
It reminded them a lot of their Ralts as Pikachu and Angel have become closer to each other.
As they reached the Pokémon Center, Angel slept closer to Pikachu and she clinged right on the mouse Pokémon. He felt her soft fur against his back and felt at bliss. Pikachu then realized he was turning out just like Sora.
Now that they have reached Lavaridge Town, Sora winning his fourth Gym Badge is just around the corner and he had to come up with a plan to beat the Gym Leader. How will Sora win his fourth Gym battle? Just wait and see in the next chapter.
