Episode 254: All Things Evolved
Before we get started on this chapter, I would like to announce that I plan to have some of Sora and Kairi's Pokémon evolve. Like the title suggests, Pokémon aren't the only ones who evolve. Just read it and find out. Enjoy!
A few days had passed since Sora had won his sixth Gym Badge. WIth Six Badges under his belt, he was one step closer to the Hoenn Pokémon League. Sora exchanged Vikavolt, Manectric, and Lairon for Grovyle, Combusken, and Trapinch. Kairi had exchaned Beautifly for her Lileep.
Sora decided to do some training since he knew the next two Gym battles were going to be even more challenging.
"Okay, Grovyle! Leaf Blade!" Sora ordered. Grovyle uses Leaf Blade on a nearby boulder and slices it like it was butter. "Great! Combusken! Use Double Kick followed by Fire Punch!" Combusken gave a couple of kicks and then a burning punch on a different boulder. "Okay Trapinch! Bite!" Trapinch gave a hard bite on some more rocks. "Good work, guys! Keep it up!" He turned to Spoink and Shuppet. "Keep up with Psychic!" Both Pokémon uses Psychic and sends the rocks towards them. "Pikachu! Iron Tail! Trapinch! Another Bite! Grovyle! Bullet Seed! Combusken! Double Kick!" Sora's Pokémon were improving their techniques. During the course of the training Spoink and Trapinch both evolved at once. Spoink had become Grumpig and Trapinch has become Vibrava. "Wasn't expecting you to evolve, but I'll take it."
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu said.
The newly evolved Pokémon felt happy to be praised by Sora. As they continued their travel, Sora and Kairi did some training for any signs of Team Magma, Team Aqua, or even Team Rocket, despite three members known for their stupidity.
"Let's go Lileep! Energy Ball!" Kairi ordered. Lilieep fires Energy Ball into the air and it goes straight up and explodes like a firework. "That was a beautiful Energy Ball!" Lileep beamed and started to evolve. Kairi was astounded. Lileep had evolved right into a Cradily. "Wow, you're a Cradily!" Kairi's newly evolved Cradily nuzzles her and she laughs.
A few days later, Sora exchanged Grumpig, Shuppet and Vibrava for Marshtomp, Whismur, and Slakoth. They made a stop over to a field of high grass, unaware of a pair of eyes leering at them from the blades of grass. It turned out that they belonged to a boy wearing a school uniform. He took out a telescope and looked through it.
"Where oh where could a Tropius be?" The school boy said. He kept looking for one. "Man, how could something so big be so hard to find?" He looked around for a Tropius. Instead of a Tropius, he found something else interesting instead, it was Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel. "Hm, they could be Pokémon trainers, since they have a Pikachu and an Eevee. Maybe a small distraction will tide me over for a small while." He places his telescope back in his bag and approached the couple, covered in grass debris. "Hold it right there, you two!"
"Where did you come from?" Kairi asked.
"And why are you covered in grass?" Sora asked.
"I was looking for a wild Tropius since one can seen in this area, but putting that aside, I am challenging one of you into a battle! And the one I choose is you!" The school boy said, pointing to Sora. "What do you say? Do you accept?"
"Why not? I could some excercise for my Gym battle in Mossdeep City," Sora said.
"Excellent!" The school boy said, taking out a pair of Pokéballs. "The Pokémon I am sending out is Kecleon and Politoed!" He threw his Pokéballs and out came a Kecleon and a Politoed. Sora took out two of his own and threw them.
"Let's go! Whismur and Slakoth!" Sora called out. Whismur and Slakoth both came out and ready to go.
"So, two Normal Types, is it? I have to say it's clever since Kecleon's ability is Color Change. Let's get started! Kecleon! Use Fury Swipes on Whismur! Politoed! You use Scald on Slakoth!" The school boy ordered. Kecleon started to run towards Whismur to swipe at him while Politoed fires hot water from its mouth.
"Whismur! Slakoth! Dodge!" Sora called out. Whismur geabs Slakoth and they avoided their opponents attacks. "Whismur! Use Pound on Kecleon! Slakoth! Use Scratch on Politoed!" Whismur smacks Kecleon hard as Slakoth lands a scratch onto Politoed.
"Politoed! Kecleon! Both of you use Ice Beam on Slakoth!" The school boy ordered. Both the frog and chameleon Pokémon fired Ice Beam right at their target.
"Whismur! Block it!" Sora called out. Whismur jumped right in front of the sloth Pokémon and took the hit for his teammate. Slakoth watched and is in awe. Slakoth caould only smile. Both Kecleon and Politoed stopped firing when they they saw Whismur had some icicles on his body. Whismur was cold as ever and then, suddenly, both of Whismur and Slakoth began to evolve. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel were amazed by what they were seeing. Whismur was now a Loudred and Slakoth was now a Vigoroth. "Loudred and Vigoroth."
"Wow, they both evolved!" Kairi cheered.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
The school boy was off guard when he saw two of Sora's Pokémon evolve right at the same time.
"I was not expecting this. Since they both, they means, they're even stronger than before. No matter. Evolved or not, they're no match for Kecleon and Politoed! "Ice Beam again!" Both Pokémon fired another Ice Beam attack. Sora knew since Slakoth evolves into Vigoroth, they're incredible fast.
"Vigoroth and Loudred! Dodge and use Slash and Mega Punch!" Sora ordered. Vigoroth and Loudred avoids Ice Beam and both landed their new attacks on their opponents. "Okay Loudred! Use Bite on Politoed!" Loudred lands a bite on Politoed and earned a knockout.
"Kecleon! Avenge your partner's honor with Slash!" The school boy ordered. Kecleon heads towards its opponents even though it's two against one.
"Vigoroth! Seismic Toss!" Sora ordered. Vigorth grabs Kecleon and threw it down to the ground. Kecleon had been beaten along with Politoed. "Good work, guys!" Sora raises botht he hands of Vigoroth and Loudred. "Winner!" Both Pokémon beamed having to be praised by Sora.
The school boy called his fallen Pokémon back and walked up to Sora and held out his hand.
"Not a bad battle. Your Pokémon evolving at the same time wasn't something I would expect," the school boy said.
"Thanks. Gotta say that you raised your Pokémon right," Sora said. The school boy smiled and and did a fist bump with Sora.
That night, Sora accessed his Pokédex and exchanged Vigoroth and Loudred for Anorith and Zigzagoon. He figured they could get their feet wet.
Over to Team Rocket, they were still trying to get some dirt on Team Magma and Team Aqua when they made a stop to rest their feet.
"Wow, I never felt so tired in my whole life. I think I'm gonna-" Meowth's sentence was cut off when he fell asleep.
"Meowth isn't the only one who's all tired from all the walking we've been doing for the last several days," Jessie said.
"You and me both. I got blisters on my feet the size of a Steelix," James said, taking off his boot.
"You think you got problems, I'm having trouble trying to stay on my feet and I'm sweating up a storm," Jessie said, wiping off some sweat and taking off her boots. James looked at Jessie's legs and never really realized how beautiful they looked to him. He shook it off and focused on his own feet. She turnd to James. "James?" He turned to Jessie.
"What?" James asked.
"Could you rub my feet for me?" Jessie asked.
"Sure," James said. James started to rub Jessie's feet as soft as he could possibly could. "How am I doing so far?"
"You're pretty gentle," Jessie said.
"Thanks," James said, rubbing Jessie's feet. "Gotta say your feet are pretty soft. What's your secret?"
"A very special foot lotion. Been using it for years," Jessie said.
"That explains a lot," James said.
"It's just hard to get by when you're on the lam and on the road for so long," Jessie said.
"Still your feet are as smooth as a baby's bottom," James said.
"Thanks," Jessie said.
"Also, I think you have really nice feet, even though I'm not a foot guy. I didn't want to say anything because it might make me seem like a weirdo," James admitted.
"You're not weird to say it. I do appreciate you complimenting me," Jessie said.
"Well, it helps to have the right kind of people," James said. He stopped rubbing and he looked right at Jessie's face and she looked right back at him.
"What?" Jessie asked.
"You know, something, I've been thinking. You know about my past and we know a little about Meowth's past, but I don't know much about yours," James pointed out. She sighed.
"Where do I start? If you thought you had issues with your parents, then you don't know what growing up was like for me. My parents were never around all that much when I was little. All they did was work twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week. I was left with babysitters and what-not. And when they died, I was put into foster home to foster home until I turned eighteen. At that point I met you at our old prep school and joined that biker gang before eventually joining Team Rocket. To be honest, before all this, all I wanted was to be a nurse and I failed medical school in one semester," Jessie said. She sighed. "Nobody really cared about me all that much when I was a little girl, especially my own parents. And that's the saddest thing of all." James had no idea what Jessie went through.
"Well, someone right here cares about you," James said, making Jessie turned to face him. "I care. And so did Genghis and Kahnnie. Also, Meowth." Jessie smiled, feeling appreciative of James.
"Thanks James," Jessie said.
"You're lucky because you weren't born with a silver spoon in your mouth and live with controlling parents that set you up with in a loveless marriage. That Jessibelle, I tell you she's incredibly crazy," James said.
"I know right? Meowth said that she looks like me, but I don't see the resemblance," Jessie said.
"You're right, because she's got nothing on you. You're even better looking than she is," James said. This surprises Jessie.
"You think I'm better looking?" Jessie asked.
"I do. I've always thought that about that about you. I always you were always better looking than any supermodel," James admitted.
"You really mean it even after all the times that you said that I was ugly?" Jessie asked.
"I was trying to piss you off, because you kinda piss me off sometimes," James said. "After everything we've been through, I have to say I don't mind, because i would be be pissed at you rather than you."
"Same to you, James. And there's no other member of Team Rocket I would rather be teamed you than you, James," Jessie said.
"I feel the same about you, Jessie. I mean I love you so much," James said. He covered his mouth when he realized what he just said and Jessie was shocked to hear it. "Forget what I just said."
"You just said that you love me?" Jessie asked. James groaned when he knew he couldn't get out of it.
"Yes, I love you, Jessie. The truth is, I had this feeling for you for a long time, even before that one night. I didn't realize it until we did it," James said.
"I know we agreed we never speak of it again, but the truth is, I had this feeling for you too. I tried to forget it, but I just couldn't. So, I'm going to say it now. I love you too," Jessie said. James blushes uncontrollably as did Jessie. And they kiss each other on the lips.
"Dammit," Jessie cursed.
"I know," James said.
They kss each other again with so much passion. They parted lips and looked right at each other.
"Just know, it'll be a long time we do it again, James," Jessie said.
"I can respect it," James said.
"Good. Just keep your pants up until then," Jessie said.
They both held each other's arms and let all the romance sink in. Meowth was pretending to be asleep and he finally understood what the situation was.
"I knew there was something going on. No wonder they've been acting funny lately. It probably won't be long before they get all lovey-dovey like the twerps," Meowth said in his thoughts.
Back to Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, they all made a stop to sleep for the night. When they woke up in the next morning, Kairi greeted her boyfriend in the usual way. Sora smiled as she kissed him on the lips.
"Morning, lazy bum," Kairi greeted.
"Morning," Sora greeted back.
"You hungry, Sora? I was thinking of a good hearty breakfast," Kairi said.
"Yummy," Sora said. Pikachu an Angel woke up and they kiss each other awake.
"Morning Pikachu. Had a nice sleep?" - Angel subtitle.
"I did. I dreamt about you last night. Dreamt that I wona battle and you gave me a kiss." - Pikachu subtitle. Angel smiled and nuzzles Pikachu and he nuzzles her back.
After a good breakfast, Sora and Kairi continued some training and during the training Zigzagoon and Anorith evolved into a Linoone and an Armaldo.
During their training session, they saw something flying above them. It was a Pokémon that resembles a sauropod dinosaur with wings made entirely out of giant leaves. It has the coloring as a palm tree. And it has bananas on its neck. Sora took out his Pokédex and scanned the Pokémon.
Tropius, the Fruit Pokémon
Type: Grass/Flying
The bunches of fruit around Tropius's neck are very popular with children. This Pokémon loves fruit, and eats it continuously. Apparently, its love for fruit resulted in its own outgrowth of fruit.
"Wasn't that kid from yesterday looking for one of those?" Sora asked.
"Yes it was," Kairi said. "I never seen a Tropius before in my life."
"Same here," Sora said.
Tropius made a landing to have a drink of water. Sora on thought of having a cool Pokémon like Tropius on his team. Looks like a real powerhouse. Sora remembered that Grass Type Pokémon are weak against Bug Types and Flying Type Pokémon are weak against Rock Types. He took out Armaldo's Pokéball and threw it.
"Go for it, Armaldo!" Sora called out. Armaldo emerged from his Pokéball and stood before the fruit Pokémon. Tropius turned to see the plate Pokémon. Tropius began by flapping its leafy wings and sends out a twister of leaves. "That's Leaf Tornado! Dodge and use Slash!" Armaldo avoids Tropius's attack and moved in and swiped at Tropius. "Now use Stone Edge!" Armaldo avoids Leaf Tornado and crosses his claws as stones forms all around him. Armaldo fires Stone Edge right at Tropius and the rocks pelts it. "Now move in with X-Scissor!" Armaldo raises his arms and swipes across, delivering the blow on it. Tropius fires Hyper Beam and Armaldo takes a pretty bad hit, but manages to stand his ground.
"That was Hyper Beam," Kairi said.
"Armaldo! Use Stone Edge!" Sora ordered. Armaldo sends out stones and they pelt Tropius again. "Now use Slash!" Armaldo swipes at Tropius and misses as Tropius flies to the right. Tropius then fires Air Slash right at Armaldo, but blocks it by crossing his arms together like two swords. "Use X-Scissor!" Armaldo does the same as before and comes at Tropius. Armaldo manages to land a hit on the fruit Pokémon. Sora was certain it was weak enough, so he took out a Pokéball and threw it right at it. Tropius flows inside it, but comes back out. "Still got some fight left." Tropius fires another Air Slash and Armaldo blocks the attack again. Armaldo was getting worn out from the assault he was taking. "Armaldo! Stone Edge!" Armaldo uses Stone Edge and pelts Tropius again. Once he was certain the fruit Pokémon was weak enough, Sora took out another Pokéball and hurls it right at Tropius. It flows inside and wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around it to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokédex starts buzzing asking him if he wants to keep Tropius with him. He chose to send Tropius to Professor Oak's lab. "Got myself a Tropius!"
"Happy for you, Sora," Kairi said. She gave her boyfriend a deserved kiss and the couple holds that kiss for a few seconds.
On the very next day, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel made a stop at a small lake. Sora and Kairi thought it'll be a good place for a swim. Sora thought he could have Corphish and Carvahna join in on the fun. He exchanged Armaldo and Linoone to join in. On the lake, a maroon colored Surskit skids across the lake. It has deep pink half circles under its eyes. It does so like a figure skater on a frozen lake.
Sora lets out Marshtomp, Corphish, and Carvahna as Sora and Kairi have already changed into their swimsuits.
"Okay guys, have some fun, and Carvahna, no biting!" Sora said. Carvahna hadn't just swam around the lake, like he was on patrol. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel jumped in the lake and enjoyed their swim.
Meanwhile, back in Kanto at Team Rocket HQ, Genghis and Kahnnie were wondering how Jessie and James were doing. They still haven't heard anything about them and they were constantly told not to think about and to stop talking about it. Genghis and Kahnnie made sure they were alone, just no one could hear they're saying.
"You think Jessie and James are doing okay?" Kahnnie asked. "I know I keep asking this, but I can't help it."
"Me neither. Also, I don't know since we haven't heard a thing from them," Genghis said. "Maybe we could just ask the boss. He might know."
"But the boss will never listen to us. He couldn't care less about what we have to say or think," Kahnnie pointed out.
"It's worth a shot, Kahnnie. Besides, I'm pretty tired of waiting," Genghis said.
Kahnnie silently agreed and went along with Genghis to find out about what happened to Jessie and James. They went up to his office and they saw that the door was slightly opened. Before they could just enter, they hear Giovanni and Matori talking.
"It has been weeks since we have heard anything from those fools, Jessie and James along with that talking Meowth. Is it safe to assume maybe they might be dead?" Matori asked. It was obvious Matori didn't care.
"It's possible either Team Magma or Team Aqua had probably killed them or perhaps they're in prison. Those three have been a blemish on Team Rocket for long enough," Giovanni said. Matori agreed with her boss.
"Team Magma? Team Aqua? Those guys have abase of operations in the Hoenn region. What are they doing there?" Genghis asked.
"I know I may have said this from time to time again, sending them on that false mission was pure genius," Matori said, laughing evilly.
"False mission?" Kahnnie asked.
"Those idiots would do anything to gain my favor. Jessie's mother was an excellent Team Rocket member when my mother was in cahrge. I have to say, I am glad her mother is dead, because she would not live to see her only daughter as a disgrace," Giovanni said. Genghis and Kahnnie didnt like how that turned out. Jessie idolized her mother like Kahnnie did.
"And what shall we do about their Pokémon, Arbok, Weezing, and Victreebel?" Matori asked.
"We could always use them as test subjects for the project," Giovanni said. "I doubt they would survive." Genghis and Kahnnie sillently gasped when Giovanni may have plans to kill Arbok, Weezing, and Victreebel in some sort of experiment. This was the first they heard of it. Word has never gotten around about a project.
"What project?" Kahnnie asked. Genghis shrugs his shoulders.
"They're just as expendable as the grunts," Giovanni said.
"And if they shall not report in?" Matori asked.
"We'll just say that they had died on duty and erase them from our systems. It'll be like they never even existed," Giovanni said. The secretary smiled.
"I have waited for you to say that," Matori said. Genghis and Kahnnie really didn't like how that turned out and they rushed and made sure they weren't heard by the Team Rocket boss. Once they were all alone again, Genghis and Kahnnie were even more worried than before.
"So, that's what's going on. Jessie, James, and Meowth have been sent on a wild goose chase," Genghis said.
"I know. But I can't wonder if what they said is true. Could they really be dead?" Genghis asked.
"I don't know. We're going have to head on down to the Hoenn region and see for ourselves," Genghis proposed.
"Shouldn't we ask for permission to head for Hoenn first?" Kahnnie asked.
"We can't afford to wait. We'll have to get going as soon as we retrieve their Pokémon," Genghis said.
Once they found where Arbok, Weezing, and Victreebel were located, they broke in the storage facility and took their Pokéballs and headed off to the Hoenn region.
Back in Hoenn, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel continued as the Water Types swam in the lake. Sora and Kairi splashed each other as did Pikachu and Angel.
"Making a stop to this lake was a great idea, Sora. We could use a break," Kairi said.
"It was worth it to have some fun, Kairi," Sora said. Kairi smiled affectionately and hugged her boyfriend.
"You're right, it is worth it," Kairi said.
Just when they got out and dried off, Sora and Kairi spotted the alternated colored Surskit, skidding on the same lake.
"Is that-?" Sora asked.
"It's a Surskit! A Shiny Surskit!" Kairi said. She saw how beautifully colored the pond skater Pokémon looked. She decided that she was going to catch that Surskit. She thought of using Angel, but decided to go with her Swablu since she can fly and is a Flying Type Pokémon. Kairi went and grabbed Swablu's Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Swablu!" Swablu came out flying. "Swablu! Start up with peck!" Swablu went and pecked at Surskit. The shiny pond skater Pokémon responded by firing Bubble Beam. "Dodge and use Disarming Voice!" Swablu fires Disarming Voice and it struck Surskit. "Now use Round!" Swablu starts singing a song as red, blue, and green music notes appears and struck Swablu. Kairi took out a Pokéball and threw it at Surskit and flows inside it. The Pokéball wobbles around and around and then stars swirls around it to confirm the catch. Sora hands Kairi his Pokédex and it asks her if she wants to keep Surskit with her. She chose to to keep Surskit in exchange for Cradily. Swablu then starts to evolve, amazing Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel. Swablu had now become an Altaria. "Wow, I knew you were ready to evolve. You're such a beautiful Altaria." Kairi's newly evolved Altaria nuzzles her and she smiled kindly.
Just when things were getting quiet, Carvanha and Corphish were going at it. Corphish fires Bubble Beam while Carvanha dodges and uses Aqua Jet and rams into the lobster-like Pokémon. Marshtomp tries to break them up, but it was in vain when he struck at Marshtomp with Crabhammer. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel saw the brawl going on.
"Knock it off, you two!" Sora called out. Carvahna and Corphish stared at each other and then started to evolve. Corphish had evolved into a Crawdaunt and Carvahna had evolved into a Sharpedo. Sora and Kairi were astounded to see two of his Pokémon had evolved. The brawl continued between the newly evolved Pokémon. Sharpedo came at Crawdaunt and swiped at Crawdaunt. Crawdaunt came at Sharpedo with a Crabhammer and smacked at Sharpedo and got hurt due to Rough Skin. "This is getting out of hand!"
"We gotta do something, Sora!" Kairi stated. Sora agreed with his girlfriend. Just before Sora could do a thing about it, Marshtomp jumped out of the water and fired Mud Shot at the both of them. Marshtomp then hurls Water Pulse at them and it resulted in a double knockout. "Not what I had in mind, but I'll take it." Sora called back Sharpedo and Crawdaunt into their Pokéballs to rest up. "Since you two didn't behave, I'm sending you both home." Sora took out his Pokédex and exchanged Crawdaunt and Sharpedo for Numel and Bagon.
Over to Team Rocket, Jessie and James were setting up for their dinner which happens to be some fruit they picked from some trees, a Chimecho floated right next to James. Just when they were about to eat, Jessie and Meowth spots Chimecho next to him.
"James, what is that?" Jessie asked.
"What's what?" James asked, looking on his left and saw the wind chime Pokémon next to him. He squeals with delight. "WOW! It's a Chimecho! I have always wanted one of these when I was a child!" Chimecho chimes and lets out a blue soothing soundwave. James smiled and held it in his hands. Jessie was happy for him since he got a Pokémon ever since he was a child.
"Good for you, James," Jessie said. Meowth was weirded out since he pretended to be asleep. He didn't blurt it out since he knew he would be given loads of hell for it. James took out a Pokéball and held in front of Chimecho.
"Would like to come with me, Chimecho?" James asked.
"Chime, Chime!" Chimecho sang. Chimecho presses the button on the Pokéball and flows inside. Stars swirls around the Pokéball confirming the catch. "Now I have my very own Chimecho!"
Night came as Sora helped Kairi with some dinner. In the meantime, Grovyle was up in a tree as Combusken was practicing some kicks and punches as Marshtomp had started to give himself a mud bath. Numel rested a bit as Bagon tried to fly. Altaria felt sorry for the small Pokémon and gave him a lift. Bagon was having some fun flying on Altaria's back. Plusle and Minun were swooning at the romance between Pikachu and Angel as they sat nuzzling and kissing each other. Surskit as Kairi confirms to be a girl was depressed since there wasn't any water to skate on. And Chingling is making a smoothing ringing sound. Sora and Kairi found Chingling's ringing relaxing.
"So nice," Sora said, feeling soothed.
"A wonderful melody," Kairi agreed.
After making some soup in a matter of minutes, Kairi had made some Pokémon food and they ate it to their heart's content, all except for Numel who wasn't eating . Even for Numel that seemed odd.
"What's wrong, Numel? Not hungry?" Sora asked. Numel didn't respond and started to evolve. Numel had no become a Camerupt. Camerupt took a bite of the food and started scarfing it down. Sora was proud to see his Numel as a Camerupt. He knew his personality hasd changed. Kairi walked up to Camerupt and petted him.
"I can make you some more if you want," Kairi offered. She turned to the other Pokémon. "There's plenty for all." All of the Pokémon liked the idea. Chinglingwas happy and started to evolve. "Chingling, you're evolving!" Chingling had now evolved into a Chimecho. "Wow, a Chimecho. You were really cute as a Chingling, but you're cute either way."
"Chime," the newly evolved Chimecho sang.
A couple of hours after eating their dinner, the couple and their Pokémon have settled into bed. Sora stayed awake for he thought of something. He began to think how some of his Pokémon had evolved in recent days. He figured it had to be all the training he had been giving them lately, especially from the Weather Institution attack launched by Team Aqua. He didnt doubt Kairi was thinking the same thing. He knew it was a matter of time before they hear a thing from Team Magma.
On the very next morning, Sora woke up early calls back his five otehr Pokémon and took out his Pokédex and exchanged Camerupt for Wingull. He looked over to his girlfriend and saw her sleep soundly. He didn't want to bother her. He threw his Pokéball and calls out his Wingull.
"How about some excercise before breakfast, huh?" Sora asked.
"Gull, Wingull!" Wingull chirped. "Okay! Go! Quick Attack in the air. Wingull dashes through the air like a rocket and struck some lemons in a nearby lemon tree, making them fall off. A hungry Munchlax comes and eats the lemons on the ground and climbed up to eat some more of the yellow fruit. "Okay! Now use Water Gun!" Wingull fires Water Gun and struck more of the lemons, just as Munchlax was eating more. Wingull made a landing back to Sora's side and then started to evolve. Wingull had evolved a Pelipper. Sora wasn't surprised to see that another one of his Pokémon had evolved. "Wow, all that time at Professor Oak's lab must have been good for you."
"Pelipper," the newly evolved Pelipper chirped.
Hours later after a good heaty breakfast, they made a stop at a nearby Pokémon Center.
"Nurse Joy, could you give our Pokémon a proper check-up?" Sora asked.
"Of coourse. I'll give them all a close examination," Nurse Joy said.
"Thank you, Nurse Joy," Kairi said.
Nurse Joy smiled and handed the Pokéballs on trays for her Chansey and Blissey took one each. Chansey took Sora's and Blissey took Kairi's. Just as the couple waited for their Pokémon, they saw a poster for a Pokémon Contest being held in Lilycove City.
"Lilycove City is having a Contest?" Sora asked.
"How far are until we reach it?" Kairi asked. He took out his PokéNav and checked it.
"We're actually almost there. We could reach it within several hours just as long as we don't make any stops. Even for the bathroom," Sora said.
"Great! And I only need one more ribbon to get into the Grand Festival. That's if you don't mind a detour, Sora," Kairi said. Sora chuckled.
"I'm in no hurry, Kairi. Your Contests are just as important as my Gym battles. You only need to win one ribbon and I only need to win two Gym Badges. Also, I could use some training before we get there," Sora said. Kairi beamed how considerate Sora was being to her.
And now another Contest being held and Kairi just needs to earn her fifth and final ribbon in order to qualify for the Grand Festival. How will her next contest go? Just wait and you shall see.
