Episode 263: Dail D For Drake
Although Sora and Kairi's inter-dimensional don't officially start until later on, but I figured that I would have some visitors coming in and out. Also, there would be other characters from another series going through some inter-dimensional travel.
At Team Rocket HQ, Giovanni is sitting in his office, petting his Persian. His new outfit consists of a long sleeved black shirt with a large V neck that shows off a white undershirt, black slightly baggy trousers and black shoes. He hears a ringing and he presses a button on his desk as several screens appear in his office. Appearing on the screens are several shadowy figures. Some of them appear to be human."Gentlemen. A pleasure to meet the rest of you at last, though I am sad to say not in person," Giovanni said.
"Giovanni, we are contacting you to check on how your little project is coming along," a dark voice spoke. "I trust it's going smoothly, yes?"
"I can assure you it'll be ready. It will take some time to get it working," Giovanni said. "I have some of the greatest minds working on it as we speak."
"I doubt it," a voice that sounds like an old man spoke. "I had some bad luck with someone who are a much lower form of life than I."
Another laugh chuckled, "I have the exact same problem." He spoke in a I'm matter than you tone.
"You mean with your little helpers or your little piles of junk?" A gruff voice asked laughing.
"What is that supposed to mean?" The third voice asked.
"You know what I mean. I can bet that you two couldn't make a toaster into a death ray," the fourth voice said.
"That is irrelevant," a fifth voice spoke in a dark voice almost like the first one.
"Couldn't agree more. The project is a heck a lot more important than that," a sixth voice said in an almost psychotic voice.
"So, we're hoping that you're keeping your end of the deal," the second voice said.
"Gentlemen, I can assure it'll be ready soon enough. I only require the proper Pokémon to test the project and I would like nothing more than your support," Giovanni said.
"And you shall have the support that you need. Just do not fail us, Giovanni, or else you shall feel our wrath," the first voice spoke.
"I will not fail," Giovanni assured the mysterious figures.
"Well, you better not or I'll be personally barbecuing you for dinner!" The fourth voice threatened. They all end the transmissions as Giovanni gave a hateful glare.
"Fools," Giovanni said.
Elsewhere in a location unknown. The figures all meet in secret.
"So, how could that simple little project take so long?" The third voice spoke.
"I told him to take all the time he needs. In the meantime, I have recruited a new ally for our cause," the first voice said. The new figure appears to be a woman wearing what looks like a huge pirate hat.
"Just keep them coming," the fourth voice laughed.
"I just hope you made the right call like you did with Giovanni," the third voice said.
"Yeah, he might end up double crossing us for all we know," the sixth voice said.
"Or the rest of you. Our little gathering is still incomplete, so we have lots of planning to make all the worlds ours for the taking," the first voice spoke. All of the shadowy figures all laugh along with their newest member.
Back in Mossdeep City, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth prepare to depart for the next island before reaching Sootopolis City for Sora's final Hoenn Gym battle. After giving some needed healing, Sora exchanged Crawdaunt and Sableye for Torkoal and Dusclops. Kairi had exchanged Swalot, Beautifly, and Milotic for Surskit, Corsola, and Castform.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth running for the port to catch the next boat off.
"Just hope we make it in time!" Kairi said.
"Hope so too, because we gotta get off today!" Sora said.
"You're lucky you're tall, because it's hard to run with these short legs!" Meowth exclaimed.
"Pika, Pika, Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
"I am not slow! I just have short legs!" Meowth argued.
"Eevee, Eev, Eevee, vee?" Angel asked.
"Why would I run on all fours like any other Meowth?" Meowth asked.
They finally reached the port to catch the next boat.
"There it is! If we hurry, well get right on!" Sora said. They all picked up the pace boarded the ship. Unknown to anyone, a Nincada came out from an alley and boarded into the deck below. The Nincada smiled and its mouth starts drooling at the sight of food in the crates. Nincada jumps into one of the boxes and started eating. Once Nincada was full, it decided to have a look around to see where it was. Nincada hid when it saw Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth. "So glad we made it in time." Sora sat down on a chair.
"Good thing," Kairi agreed. She took Meowth on her lap and started to pet him, much to Meowth's liking. Pikachu and Angel cuddles to one another. Sora puts his arm around Kairi's shouler and gave a kiss on her cheek and making her giggle. "Sora."
"Can't help it, Kairi. You're so cute," Sora cooed. Meowth huffed.
"Get a room," Meowth scoffed. The ears of Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth perk up when they heard something. This catches the attention of Sora and Kairi as well.
"Pika, Pika, Pikachu?" Pikachu asked.
"Yeah, I heard it," Meowth said. They saw it was the same Nincada and it had tumbled. "It's a Nincada!"
"How did he get here?" Kairi asked.
"Meowth, you talk to him," Sora suggetsed.
"What? Why me?" Meowth asked.
"Because you're the only one here who can translate," Sora pointed out.
"Good point," Meowth said. He walked up to the trainee Pokémon. "Heya buddy. How did you get here? You get lost by any chance, huh?"
"Cada, Nin, Nin, Nincada," Nincada said.
"Is that right?" Meowth asked.
"What did he say?" Kairi asked.
"He was just doing some traveling and he got hungry and helped himself to some food, so he was just going around to see what was around here," Meowth translated.
"Well, you're a boat. And there's no solid ground to burrow under," Sora told the trainee Pokémon. Nincada winced and went to the edge and saw the ocean. Nincada backed away. "Told you." Sora thought of something and decided to act on it. "Say Nincada, how would you like to come with us? I mean, you're not going anywhere particular, but all that is gonna change."
"Cada, Nincada?" Nincada asked.
"Why are you making me an offer is what Nincada is asking," Meowth translated.
"I thought maybe you could use some new friends. Also, I can help you get stronger, so what do you say?" Sora asked.
"Cada," Nincada said.
"Nincada just said okay," Meowth translated.
"Cada, Cada, Nincada," Nincada said.
"But only if you agree to have a battle first," Meowth translated.
"Thought as much," Sora said, taking out a Pokéball. "Let the initiation begin." he threw the Pokéball. "Go for it, Dusclops!" The Pokéball opens and Dusclops comes out to battle. Dusclops! Mean Look!" Dusclops gave Nincada a sinister look and he's surrounded by a red aura. Now use Shadow Punch!" Dusclops launches a Shadowy Punch and lands a hit onto Nincada. Nincada comes at Dusclops with Fury Swipes, but it didn't have any effect on Dusclops due to being a Ghost Type. "Use Night Shade!" Dusclops fires Night Shade on the trainee Pokémon. "Now use Shadow Ball!" Dusclops forms a ball of shadow and hurls it right at Nincada. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it right at Nincada, making him flow inside. The Pokéball wobbles around and around for a moment before stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokédex starts buzzing asking him if he wants to keep Nincada or send him to Professor Oak's lab. Sora chose to send Nincada to Professor Oak's lab. "Got me a Nincada."
Now Sora had caught himself a Nincada on his way to the next island, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth were proud. Unknown to anyone, a rift opens and mysterious figure swims underwater. Sticking its head out of the water, it looks like an alligator's head, but robotic. It has the Greek letter sigma engraved on its head. At the same time, it resembles a wolf's jaw.
"Wheel Gator to base, I have made it as instructed," Wheel Gator reported.
"Good work. Carry on as planned," another voice said through the com.
"Roger," Wheel Gator acknowledged. He dove back underwater and followed the ship. Wheel Gator was sent by an unknown figure to follow the ship and see where it goes. The ship made a stop as Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and the rest of the passengers departed from the ship. Wheel Gator caught up with the ship. "Here it is."
"Hey you!" A voice called out. Wheel Gator shifted his eye as he saw a boy around Sora's age approaching Sora. "You're that Sora Ketchum, aren't ya?"
"And if I say I am?" Sora asked.
"And I would challenge you into a Pokémon battle!" The boy said, pulling out his Pokéball. "What do you say?"
"Sure. I could use a warm-up for my upcoming Gym battle," Sora said, accepting the challenge.
"This should be interesting to watch," Wheel Gator said. He emerged from the water. His whole body is revealed. He is a robotic anthromorphic alligator with orange wheel-like parts on his shoulders. He hid in the alley just so no one could see him.
"Let's make it three-on-three!" The boy suggested.
"You're on!" Sora said, taking out a Pokéball. "Go! Dusclops!" He threw his Pokéball and his Dusclops emerges from inside and is wearing the Reaper Cloth. Dusclops started to evolve. Dusclops had now evolved into a Dusknoir. Wheel Gator was amazed by what he saw.
"Whoa! Your Dusclops evolved into a Dusknoir!" The boy exclaimed.
"Evolve?" Wheel Gator asked. "That thing is even bigger than it was before. The boy threw his Pokéball.
"Go! Pelipper!" The boy called out. His Pelipper came out flying out. "Pelipper! Begin with your Wing Attack!" Pelipper charges at Dusknoir with its wings out.
"Block it out and hit it with Shadow Punch!" Sora ordered. Dusknoir strikes Pelipper with Shadow Punch. "Now use Night Shade!" Dusknoir fires Night Shade right at Pelipper.
"Pelipper! Ice Beam!" The boy ordered. Pelipper fires Ice Beam right at Dusknoir, hitting it on the mark.
"Dusknoir! Shadow Punch again!" Sora ordered. Dusknoir strikes Pelipper with Shadow Punch again. "Now finish up with Shadow Ball!" Dusknoir forms a ball of shadow and throws it at the water bird Pokémon.
"Pelipper! Protect!" The boy ordered. Pelipper forms a protective barrier around itself and it blocks Shadow Ball. "Now fire Blizzard!" Pelipper fires Blizzard right at Dusknoir. Sora knew Dusknoir is a slow moving Pokémon, but he had an ace up his sleeve.
"Dusknoir! Night Shade! Full power!" Sora ordered. Dusknoir fires Night Shade as powerful he could make it, so it cuts through Blizzard and it struck Pelipper hard. "Now use Shadow Punch!" Dusknoir lands a Shadow Punch onto Pelipper, earning a knockout.
"My Pelipper!" The boy gasped. He ran up to his fallen Pokémon, helping it up. "You okay?"
"Lipper," Pelipper sadly responded.
"Don't apologize. You did your best," the boy said, taking out his Pokéball. "Take a good long rest." He calls Pelipper back inside. Wheel Gator was impressed by how Dusknoir had won.
"That ghostly thing is plenty strong. That kid has gotta be good since he's a champion, like that other kid said," Wheel Gator said. Sora calls Dusknoir back as Sora looked towards his partner.
"You're up, Pikachu," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu nodded. He got into position.
"So, it's a Pikachu, huh? I have just the one to put out that pipsqueak's thunder," the boy said as he took out another Pokéball. "Go! Graveler!" He threw the Pokéball and his Graveler came out to battle.
"It's gonna be a real problem since Pikachu's electricity ain't gonna phase that Graveler," Meowth pointed out.
"You're right, Meowth, but Sora isn't sunk yet," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Talking about between a rock and a hard place. That yellow rodent doesn't look like it stands a chance," Wheel Gator said.
"Graveler! Start things up with your Rollout!" The boy ordered. Graveler rolls into a ball and heads right towards Pikachu.
"Dodge it with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu dashes around pass the rock Pokémon.
"Wow, that's fast. Overdrive Ostrich might have some competition from that mouse," Wheel Gator said.
"Now use Iron Tail!" Sora ordered. Pikachu takes a swing right at Graveler and deals a heavy blow. "Way to go, Pikachu!"
"Graveler! Brick Break!" The boy ordered. Graveler swings its arm right at the mouse Pokémon.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu manages to dodge one of Graveler's arms, but got hit by the other. "No way!"
"Now use Rollout!" The boy ordered. Graveler rolls into a ball and slams right into Pikachu, earning a knockout in favor of Sora's opponent. Sora went up to Pikachu.
"Don't sweat the small stuff, Pikachu. You did your best. You should rest up for right now," Sora told his partner.
"Pika, Pi," Pikachu said. He hands him to Kairi as she sets him down as Angel comforts him.
"Talking about loving conviction," Meowth said.
"So, next one next decides the match!" The boy said, calling back his Graveler. He pulls out another Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Scizor!" The Pokéball opens and his Scizor buzzes out.
"I know which one to use for this one," Sora said, taking out a Pokéball. "Your turn now, Torkoal!" His Torkoal shoots out some smoke from his nostrils and his shell upon entry.
"Scizor! Bullet Punch!" The boy ordered.
"Torkoal! Protect!" Sora ordered. Torkoal withdraws into his shell and forms a protective barrier. Scizor's Bullet Punch bounces "Now use Flamethrower!" Torkoal fires Flamethrower, but Scizor dodges with ease.
"Scizor! Use Flash Cannon!" The boy ordered. Scizor fires Flash Cannon from its pincers.
"Protect!" Sora ordered. Torkoal withdraws into his shell again and forms a protective barrier and himself and Flash Cannon bounces off.
"Move in with X-Scissor!" The boy ordered. Scizor comes at Torkoal ready to swing its pincers at the tortoise-like Pokémon.
"Heat Wave!" Sora ordered. Torkoal fires a gust of flames from his mouth and it struck Scizor hard and deals heavy damage. It was enough to bring Scizor down.
"Man, I lost!" The boy cried.
Wheel Gator was very impressed by the way Sora battled.
"He may lost the second round, but he came out on top with that tortoise thing," Wheel Gator said.
"Base to Wheel Gator. Return to base immediately," a voice said through his communicator.
"Roger," Wheel Gator said. A dimensional rift opens and Wheel Gator goes through it. He takes one last look at Sora before it closes. "You just made my interest, Sora Ketchum. I'll be seeing you around. Gotta say, you have spunk for a human." With that said, the dimensional rift closes just as he laughs.
"Congrats, Sora. You're even better than I thought. You have to be if you won the Kanto and Johto Pokémon Leagues," the boy said, shaking Sora's hand.
"Thanks, but you did a good job raising your Pokémon. The way you battled me is living proof," Sora said. That made the boy smile having to hear that.
Not too far, it turns out Wheel Gator wasn't the only one who was watching the battle. The battle has caught the attention of an old, but tall and muscular man, who has a white mustache. He wore black sailor-like clothes with a Poké Ball emblem on them: a white hat and a ragged mantle with yellow outlines and stripes on his sleeves. He also wore blue trousers, buckled up with a dark belt and wears black boots. He was observing the battle closely.
Elsewhere in a world known as Pop Star, there stands a castle up in a hill. Inside the castle is a large penguin-like creature dressed in royal, red finery, with a peace sign emblem on the back of his red robe. He is blue-skinned and has a yellow beak. He wore a red cap, which has a golden rim and a white ball at the top. He has a red and yellow, zigzag-patterned obi stretched across his waist - concept art has shown that it is separate from his tan garment, being stretched over it. The penguin-like creature is feasting on some food on his huge dinner table. Just then, a maroon-like skin tone creature comes running in. It wore a blue bandana on its head. It has tan, pear-shaped faces, chestnut-colored eyes and no mouth. They have a round body, honey feet, small stubby arms, and rosy cheeks came running in.
"King Dedede! King Dedede!" The little creature exclaimed. King Dedede stops eating and looked at the creature.
"What is it, Bandana Dee? Can't you see that I'm eating here?" King Dedede said before he resumes eating.
"But sire! It can't wait! We have a huge problem!" Bandana Dee cried. King Dedede was about to take a bite out of a huge hamburger when he looked at the little creature with a worried look on his face.
"What is it now? It's not Kirby again is it?!" King Dedede questioned.
"No. It's not Kirby. Not this time," Bandana Dee said.
"Then what?!" King Dedede asked.
"You should see for yourself," Bandana Dee said. He leads the king to the top of his castle and saw several bulldog-like creatures attempting to break in.
"What are those?!" King Dedede asked.
"The invaders, your majesty. What do we do?" Bandana Dee asked.
"What else? Assemble the guards!" King Dedede ordered.
"Yes, your majesty! At once!" Bandana Dee acknowledged. He took out an intercom and spoke into it. "Attention all Waddle Dees and Waddle Doos! The castle is under attack! Strike back at once by order of the king! I repeat, strike back by order of the king!" Several Waddle Dees, being a lighter color than Banana Dee along with the Waddle Doos, being one-eyed creatures almost resembling them came rushing to the castle gates. The Waddle Dees are armed with their spears, ready to fight. The bulldog-like creatures breaks through and begin their attack.
"Moblins, attack!" The commander ordered. The Moblins begun their attack. The Waddle Dees and Waddle Doos started to fight. The Waddle Doos began firing their beams, striking some of them, but more kept coming. Some of the Moblins were riding on a dinosaur-like creature and they all breathed fire, frying the Waddle Dees and Waddle Doos. Just then, several knights come rushing into the scene. Some of them all wore green armor and has red tassels on their helmets and two yellow trident symbols on their shoulder pads. They all wore the same blue belts. The other sets of knights all wore purple armor, but unlike their green counterparts, their eyes are visible and wore a brown belt on their blue torsos. The green armored warriors are Blade Knights while the purple armored warriors are Sword Knights. They clashed blades with the invaders. The Moblins swung their axes and swords. The blades clashes with one another.
Seeing how it was a losing battle, Bandana Dee started sweating up a storm.
"Your majesty! The Waddle Dees and Waddle Doos are getting bested. The Blade Knights and the Sword Knights aren't fairing so well either. They're practically heading right this way!" Bandana Dee cried.
"Looks like there's no choice but to get some help. Even though I won't like it," King Dedede said.
"Sire?" Bandana Dee asked. King Dedede looked at his loyal servant with a troubling look.
"Go and find Kirby. Kirby is our only chance. Go and hurry!" King Dedede told him.
"Yes, your majesty. At once!" Bandana Dee said, saluting the king. He jumps off the castle top and started running looking for Kirby. The escape is noticed by the invading Moblins.
"One of them is getting away!" One of the Moblins said.
"I'll stop it!" Another Moblin said.
"No! Let it go!" The commander ordered. "It's their king we're after! He's our priority!" The rest of the Moblins nodded and carried on with the attack. Back on top of the castle, King Dedede paces back and forth.
"Oh, it's bad enough that Kirby has to come knocking on my door just to steal back the food I stole, but to be invaded by an army of invading monsters is too much! What else could happen?" King Dedede asked. Just then, a dimensional rift opens from under him. "Uh-oh." He falls in the rift. The Moblins eventually reaches the top and sees the king gone.
"He's gone!" One of the Moblins exclaimed.
"No way!" Another Moblin said.
"Where could he have gone?" A third Moblin asked.
Over to Bandana Dee, he ran as fast as his little feet could carry him.
"Gotta find Kirby! Gotta find Kirby! Gotta find Kirby! Gotta find Kirby!" Bandana Dee panted.
In a different part of the meadow, a small pink creature with stubby arms and red feet and rosy cheeks, happily eating some strawberry cake. The pink creature took one bite of the cake as Bandana Dee comes running.
"Kirby! I found you at last!" Bandana Dee called out. He made his stop in front of Kirby. "We need your help, Kirby!" Kirby blinked twice.
"Poyo?" Kirby chirped.
A dimensional rift opens in a different dimension and King Dedede falls and lands on the roof what seems to be a high-school building.
"Ow, that hurt. I'm so glad that's over," King Dedede said. He got on his feet and saw he was in a completely different world. He saw several high-school students entering the walking to the doors. There was also a horse statue in front. "Where on Popstar am I?!"
Back in the Hoenn region, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth walk down the street to find May and Max on the same island.
"May! Max!" Kairi greeted.
"Sora! Kairi!" May greeted back. "Good to see you."
"Sora, have you earned your seventh Gym Badge yet?" Max asked.
"Sure did," Sora said, showing him the seven Gym Badges he won.
"That's mighty impressive," Max said.
"If you think that's impressive, those twins were something else," Meowth said.
"Twins?" May asked.
"Twins who happens to be the Gym Leaders. And may I add, they were nothing to sneeze at," Sora said.
At a resturant down the street, the old man walks in and he sees a waiter inside it.
"May I help you, sir?" The waiter asked.
"Where's the old guy who works here?" The old man asked.
"He has the day off, sir. He is attending his daughter's wedding," the waiter said.
"I hope the grub you got here is good or else," the old man said.
"Yes sir, it most certainly is," the waiter said. "I hope," he whispered. The old sailor sat down at a table. "How may I serve you, sir?"
"I'll have a glass of warm milk with a shot of peppermint," the old man answered. The waiter found it odd.
"That's seems to be unusual for someone like you," the waiter pointed out. The old man gave him an imitating look.
"Got a problem with that?" The old man asked.
"No, no, no, sir. Warm milk with peppermint it shall be," the waiter said. "I shall come back with it." He went into the kitchen to get his order.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, May, and Max walked down the street to have spotted the same resturant.
"Look guys, it's a resturant," May said.
"Good timing because I was starting to get hungry," Sora said.
"Me too. I'm so hungry, I could swallow a whole Wailord," Meowth said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu deadpanned.
"Eevee," Angel said.
After a couple of minutes, the waiter walked out and gave the old man his order.
"Here is your order, sir," the waiter said. He notices the group outside and went to tend to them. He hands them the menus. "Good day, kids. Here are your menus. If you are ready to order, I shall have it down. What shall we have to drink?"
"I think we'll have a glass of water for all of us," Sora said.
"Good choice. I shall return with your waters in a few moments," the waiter said, taking his leave.
"So, Sora, what do have planned to use against the Gym Leader there at Sootopolis City?" Max asked.
"I figured I would use my Grass and Electric Types. Sceptile, Lombre, and Nuzleaf are a good go. Also there's Pikachu, Manectric, and Vikavolt," Sora stated.
"Nuzleaf and Lombre may be a couple of good choices, but Sceptile is your best bet because he's fully evolved," Kairi pointed out. "You also have Tropius to use."
"I know. I have the Leaf and Water Stones, so I think I'll use them when I feel Lombre and Nuzleaf are ready to evolve," Sora said. Inside Drake saw Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, May, and Max outside from them. "Anyway, enough about me, what about you, May? Which one of your Pokémon do you plan for the upcoming contest?"
"Max and I are heading for Izabe Island to partake in the Purika Town Contest. My Beautifly, Combusken, and Skitty did good for me on my last contest. I was thinking of using either Bulbasaur or Squirtle," May said. Drake walks up behind her.
"In a Pokémon Contest, solid teamwork with one's Pokémon is the most essential element needed to be victorious So, you need to take the utmost care in choosing your partner," the old man said.
"Uh, right. Thank you very much, sir," May said. Max immediately recognized him.
"Hey, I know him. He's Drake of the Hoenn region's Elite Four," Max pointed out. Max gasped in realization.
"And this guy makes four," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Well, you youngers have heard of me," Drake said, smiling. He turned to Sora. "Young man, I watched your battle. The way you handled your Dusknoir, Torkoal, and Pikachu is proof that you have done an excellent job in raising them. You had good strategy and stay calm in the heated situations. I was very impressed. I expect no less from a Pokémon League champion."
"Well, we didn't know we had an audience. Also, I'm happy to impress you, sir," Sora said.
"I also heard that you only needed one more Badge to enter the Hoenn Pokémon League, yes?" Drake asked.
"Yes, sir," Sora said. "My girlfriend and I are doing some island hopping to do some training." Sora gestures to Kairi.
"I see," Drake said. He took a glance over to Kairi and to Angel and then Meowth. "Young lady, are you entering the next Pokémon Contest as well?"
"No, I have already won all five of my Ribbons," Kairi said.
"Sounds to me that you are on your way," Drake said. He turned to Sora. "Sora, isn't it?" Sora nodded. "How would all like to come and take a ride on my boat?"
"Well, we do need to get to the next island, so why not?" Sora asked.
"Sounds like loads of fun," Meowth added. Drake wasn't even phased by the fact Meowth is talking. Sora and Kairi had to guess being a sailor and a member of the Elite Four had made him see many strange things since his youth. Drake leads the group to the dock to await for Drake's boat. Kairi coud see that Drake might be stern in appearence, but he appears to have a kind heart. Sora turned to Max.
"So, what kind of Pokémon does Drake uses?" Sora asked.
"Drake specializes with Dragon Type Pokémon. His Dragon Type Pokémon are a force to be reckoned with," Max said. "Drake is a real cool guy. Word is that Drake is the strongest of the Hoenn Elite Four." Sora was very impressed, but it didn't surprise him since he's a member of the Elite Four. He remember when he lost to Phoebe and Sora lost to Glacia. Just then, a giant sail ship came up to the dock, leaving the amazed. The ship is all black with gold trims; matching Drake's personality. A crewman looked down from the ship.
"Ahoy there, captain! Everything is in shape just like you ordered!" The crewman announced.
"Excellent!" Drake said. He turned to the group. "That young man there is William, my trusty first-mate." Everyone boarded the ship and were impressed by how huge it was.
"It looks bigger than an actual battlefield," Sora said.
"If you think that's impressive, you should see the sails during a storm. There isn't a hurricane wind that can match up to them," William said. Sora whisltes in impress.
"Those are pretty strong sails," Sora said.
"Excuse me, Mr. Drake," Max spoke up.
"Yes? What is it?" Drake asked.
"Would it be okay if we have a look at your Pokémon?" Max asked.
"Max, it wouldn't be a good idea to pester him," May told her younger brother.
"Actually, I see no harm in that. But, I wouldn't just show them to you," Drake said. He turned to Sora. "What do you say, Sora? Would you be interested in having a battle with me?"
"A battle with you?" Sora asked surprised. He had to admit, he was able to impress Drake, but he had to consider it. "Sure, I accept."
"Excellent," Drake said.
"You don't mind if I make a few changes, do you?" Sora asked.
"Not at all," Drake said. Sora took out his Pokédex and exchanged Dusknoir, Torkoal, Blaziken, and Swampert for Lombre, Sealeo, Sharpedo, and Lunatone. "There, done." Sora and Drake got into position for battle. William has volunteered to act as the referee for the battle.
"The battle between Drake is about to begin! Both trainers will be using two of their Pokémon each! The battle will be over when both of either trainer's Pokémon is unable to continue battling! Are you ready?" William asked.
"Yes," Sora and Drake said.
"Then begin!" William said.
"Go! Shelgon!" Drake called out and Shelgon enters the battlefield. Sora took out his Pokéball and threw it.
"You're up, Sealeo!" Sora called out. Sealeo slides on the deck upon entry.
"So, you're using an Ice Type Pokémon, hm? An excellent strategy. You may have the honor of going first," Drake said. Sora knew Shelgon is a slow moving Pokémon, also he could tell that Drake's Shelgon is much stronger than his own Shelgon. He had to play it smart.
"Sealeo! Use Ice Beam!" Sra ordered. Sealeo fired Ice Beam right at Shelgon, but Drake wasn't phased by his choice.
"Shelgon! Protect!" Drake ordered. Shelgon forms a protective barrier around itself and Ice Beam bounces off. "Now use Dragon Breath!"
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Sealeo manages to dodge Shelgon's attack. "Now use Ice Ball!" Sealeo forms a ball of ice and fires it right at Shelgon.
"Zen Headbutt!" Drake ordered. Shelgon forces itself through Ice Ball, not bothering it a little. Shelgon lands a heavy blowing hit onto Sealeo and earned a knockout. Sora pulls out Sealeo's Pokéball and calls Sealeo back.
"Sealeo is unable to battle! Shelgon wins!" William announced.
"You did your best, Sealeo. Take a good rest, you deserve it," Sora said. "Man, and I thought Phoebe was touogh." He thought of using either Sharpedo, Metang, Lunatone, or Lombre. "Maybe Lombre would do it." He pulls out Lombre's Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Lombre!" The Pokéball opens and Lombre does a little spin upon entry.
"That is an interesting choice. Lombre's Grass and Water attacks won't do much damage on Dragon Type Pokémon," Drake said calling back his Shelgon. He pulls out another Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Altaria!"
"First Drake sends out a Shelgon, and then an Altaria," May said.
"Sora's Sealeo lost against Shelgon when he had the advantage," Max said.
"Sealeo lost because he didn't have enough experience against Shelgon," Kairi said.
"She's right. Pokémon Types alone don't win battles. Drake tests his opponents by battle," one of the crewmen said.
"Altaria! Begin with Dragon Breath!" Drake ordered. Altaria fires Dragon Breath right at Lombre to land a hit.
"Lmobre! Dodge it!" Sora called out. Lombre avoids Altaria's Dragon Breath. "Now use Razor Leaf!" Lombre fires Razor Leaf.
"Dodge that and use Sky Attack!" Drake ordered. Altaria avoids Razor Leaf and its body started to glow. Altaria comes down with a full force of its body to land a hit. Sora smirked as his target was coming closer.
"Gotcha!" Sora said. Drake raised a brow. "Ice Punch now!" Lombre lands an Ice Punch onto Altaria. "Now use Water Gun!" Lombre fires Water Gun and it pushes Altaria with full force. Drake was impressed.
"Impressive. Razor Leaf was a decoy. You have set a trap for me. Well done, Sora," Drake said, impressed.
"Now use Ice Punch repeatedly!" Sora ordered. Lombre jumped up to Altaria and lands Ice Punches from left to right. "Now use Energy Ball!" Lombre forms a ball of green energy and hurls it. "Now use Water Gun!"
"Dragon Rush!" Drake ordered. Altaria lands a powerful hit onto Lombre. Lombre had been taken down.
"Lombre is unable to battle! Altaria wins! The winner of the match is Drake!" William announced. Sora picked up Lombre.
"You okay, Lombre?" Sora asked.
"Bre," Lombre sadly said.
"Don't worry about it, Lombre. You did your best. And that's all that matters," Sora said.
"And that's all that should matter," Drake said. He walked up to Sora. "You were able to stay calm in the heat of battle. Many of my opponents would often use Ice and Fairy Types against me and you are no different. And the way you used Razor Leaf and follow up with Ice Punch on my Altaria got with perfect timing was impressive. As we battled, I found that you are no ordinary trainer, Sora."
"Thanks Drake. There's no shame in losing to a member of the Elite Four. I had one with Phoebe and lost and there was no shame in that either," Sora said.
"Even in defeat, one must be humble. And you have just demonstrated that to me and my crew. You have earned my respect, Sora," Drake said. Both trainers shook hands. "And since we're sailing towards the next island, how would you like to join me and my crew for dinner?"
"I accpet," Sora said.
With that done, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, May, and Max had joined Drake and his crew for dinner and he shared all sorts of tales of his youth.
Back in Dream Land, Bandana Dee leads Kirby back to King Dedede's castle.
"Hurry up, Kirby! Those things might have overtaken the castle by now!" Bandana Dee exclaimed. They got to the castle to see that the creatures were gone. "Where did they go? They were just here!"
"They were, but now they're gone," a new voice spoke. The voice belonged to a creature that appears as a blue, roundish creature, with a physique similar to that ofKirby, but his face is covered by a mask which leaving his eyes visible. He also wore purple shoes, metal shoulder base plates, and a purple cape. On his side is a sword sheathed. His cape transformed into wings and flew down to Kirby and Bandana Dee. His wings changes back to a cape.
"Meta Knight. Where did they go?"
"I do not know. They vanished as mysteriously as they appeared. And it is possible that they now have the king as their hostage," Meta Knight said.
"No! What about the king?! Could we be too late?! Where could they have gone?!" Bandana Dee exclaimed.
"I cannot say, but we have much more to worry about, I fear," Meta Knight said.
Elsewhere, a woman wearing clothing suitable for a sorceress stands before the shadowy figures to report the failure of the Moblins.
"Masters, the Moblins have failed to acquire King Dedede," the woman said, bowing her head.
"How disappointing, Cia," the first voice said. "You can make amends by tracking him down."
"I shall do so at once, my lord," Cia said, before taking her leave by vanishing with her magic.
"It must be hard for you to find good help. That's how I feel about my own crew," the female voice said.
"It's true that good help is hard to find. But, given the right motivation, they could be quite useful," the fifth voice said.
"King Dedede would make a good new member for our cause," the sixth voice said.
"Let's hope he shares our views or else we would have to convince him by force or destroy him," the first voice said.
What could this group of villains have in store for the worlds? And what plans will they have for Sora once they learn of him and Kairi? Find out as we go on.
