Notes:
Its been almost a year I think since my last update, I do apologize. I've written a little epilogue, I know its short and less than what you all deserve but it's the best I can do right now. I still love this fanfic and I hope the ending makes you guys smile as I did.
Thank you for sticking with me and for one final time, I'd love to hear what you think.
"I'll be there in 10", Hermione said into her cell phone, something she had succeeded in making all her friends get. "Accio", she whispered to her left heel, slipping it on. "You know Daphne, I'd be there faster if you'd let me get ready instead of calling me every five seconds."
"It's your fault for forcing this celly phone on me, now deal with the consequences. But fine, I'll see you shortly."
"Okay, see – ", she was cut off as Daphne hung up abruptly.
Hermione, running very late, was scrunching her hair one final time before she left for their weekly Friday night drinks at the pub. Today would be the day, she would finally take that Gryffindor courage and ask out Malfoy on a *gulp* date. They'd been going back and forth for ages, until they had finally kissed one drunken night 3 years ago. But it had been too soon, and she wasn't ready for another relationship. The kiss had flashed Ron into her mind and resulted in her pushing him away.
She later head from Daphne, that Malfoy was extremely embarrassed and would probably never try to make a move again. Which was terribly upsetting for Hermione as she was properly infatuated with him, something Ginny mentioned every time he came up in conversation. Their relationship, her and Ginny's, had taken a while to fix. Ginny had been upset on Ron's behalf until Hermione had finally told Harry the truth, and he had conveyed it to Ginny. She had then showed up crying on Hermione's doorstep apologizing for ignoring her since the wedding. Ginny had taken it on her shoulders to individually get every Weasley to come around but Hermione hadn't wanted Ron's relationship to be ruined with his whole family. She, unfortunately, still did care about the Weasel. Thus, without the family knowing the truth, she was just someone who had left Ron at the altar and they were not on friendly terms. Molly still sent her a jumper every Christmas with a note writing about how Ron was and how she would love for her and Molly to get some tea, just to catch up of course. Hermione may have agreed had it not been for Ginny mentioning that Molly would sneak Ron in in an attempt to get them talking again. And that was the last thing she wanted.
She had found a family in her friends however, and felt content in her little life.
Hermione took one final glance in the mirror and headed out. She was locking her door, without magic, when she heard someone clear their throat behind her.
"Draco!" She exclaimed, turning around, "I was just on my way. I'm not that late yet am I? Gosh, I was catching up on the latest rune development, you know the one in the prophet last week, and -
"Granger, shut up for a second. I have something to say."
Hermione opened her mouth, closing it quickly, gulping the nerves down her throat.
"I like you, very much so, and have for quite some time." Draco began, "And I just had to say it because I cannot continue just being friends, it is driving me crazy. I know that you may not be ready, which I can wait. Granger, I- I'd wait forever for you but please, if you don't see a future, just tell me now so I can move on…
Draco continued rambling as Hermione focused on the clear of his skin, the passion in his eyes that he got whenever he was going on a rant and light pink of his lips. Something bubbly was spreading through her, and she took every ounce of courage she had and kissed him.
He slackened for a second until he kissed her back, both feeling like they finally had gotten some air after years of gasping.
