Episode 264: A Cacturne For the Worst
In this chapter, we'll be having a look at Dingodile taken from Crash Bandicoot 4, but with a slightly different turn to it. Also, a look in other dimensions.
After departing from the ship of the Elite Four member, Drake, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, May, and Max boarded another ship bound for Izabe Island for a Contest for May. Sora and Kairi decided to enjoy one for a change since she won her five Ribbons. Sora made a small adjustment to his team by exchanging Sealeo and Sharpedo just for Nincada since there was something he wanted to try.
"Why did you send over two and not have one more sent over to you?" Kairi asked.
"Well, there was something I wanted to try out," Sora answered.
"What?" Kairi asked.
"You remember seeing Riku's Ninjask and Shedinja, right?"
"Right," Kairi responded.
"When I asked him how he got both a Ninjask and Shedinja, he told me it was because he had some space on his team. So, I thought I try the same thing. Also, it'll help Nincada get stronger," Sora said.
"That's reason enough," Kairi said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"So, what do you have in mind for that?" Meowth asked. Sora looked at the scratch cat Pokémon and grinned.
"That's where you come in, Meowth. You're gonna be Nincada's sparring partner," Sora said, making Meowth wince.
"I was afraid you were gonna say that," Meowth groaned.
"It can help boost up Nincada's confidence. Also, it's good for you too. I mean, that one battle we had in Mossdeep City was one thing, so why not?" Sora asked. Meowth thought for a moment.
"You have a point there, Sora," Meowth said. "Why not? It's not like it's gonna be a real battle, anyway," Meowth said.
"Glad you feel that way, Meowth. We can worry about that after we go ashore," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Did May make up her mind on which Pokémon she's going to choose?" Sora asked.
"She said she was going with her Bulbasaur. I am curious to see how she come along since the Rubello Town Pokémon Contest," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"So am I. May seems rather determined to win this contest," Sora said. The couple and the Pokémon went to see how May is doing. When they got there, they saw May was doing good.
"Bulbasaur! use Razor Leaf!" May ordered. Bulbasaur fires Razor Leaf into the air. Follow it up with Vine Whip!" Bulbasaur smacks the leaves with Vine Whip. Alright, Bulbasaur, you're really doing great!"
"Looks like May's imporving on her skills," Sora said.
"She is. She' been doing lots of pratcing since you and she battled back in Rubello Town," Max said.
"I can tell. May has improved since then," Kairi said. She smiled knowing that her friend and rival has improved on her skills since the Contest they both entered in. Kairi is only hoping to see how she improved since then.
Elsehwere, swamp on an alternate Earth, an anthromorphic half dingo half crocodille hybrid creature is walking down the docks. He wore a vest jacket with the sleeves torn off and blue jeans with his crocodile tail sticking out. His stomach starts growling.
"Oh, crickey, I'm starved!" The creature said in an Australian accent. He caught a whiff of something delicious to him. "Wait, is that?" He sniffed again. "Roadkill Pie?" He sniffs again. "Slug and centipede gumbo? Baised bat tacos with guanamole?" He followed his nose and makes a stop to a diner with himself on the sign, holding a big fork. The sign reads: "Dingo's Diner" with a red arrow implying for customers to enter. "Well now, what do we have here?" It turns out it's part of a commercial as he is watching himsef on TV. "G'day, mates! Dingodile's the name! And catering to you hungry folks is my game! Tired of that vile swill Papa Batfiled cooks up in his filthy outhouse? C'mon down to Dingo's Diner!" He winks at the camera.
A voice over speaks, "Disclaimer: Food served in Dingo's Diner may not meet the legal defination of 'food'! Consume at your own risk. Side-effects of dining at Dingo's Diner may include fatigue, increased body odor, risk-seeking behavior, thinking too much about your uncle, increased hunger, decreased hunger, alienation from friends and family, skin irritation, ennui, leaky orifices, additional orifices, gas, wumpa cheeks, remembering that girl from high-school- what's she up to? Do you think she's happy? and profuse vomiting. No shirts, no pants, no bats." As Dingodile watches his TV, he hears a loud sound outside and went to his window to see what the noise was, and he saw a bunch of small, pitch-black, humanoid creatures with hands featuring four clawed fingers and feet featuring three similar clawed toes, yellow eyes, all wore the same red bandana and pants. They have protruding spikes on their backs, presumably forming part of their vertebrae. The creatures were carrying loads of bombs and TNT dynamite, heading right inside the diner. Dingodile growls.
"Oi! You buggers stay out of my diner!" Dindodile demanded. He walked over to his TV and picks up a leaf blower and turns it on. "Looks like I got some spring cleaning to do." He steps out of his trailer home, ready to take on the strange creatures. He races right over to his diner to clear out the creatures, only to see his diner explode when he gets halfway there. "Argh! Bastards! I'll get every one last of ya!" He eventually made it to the ruins of his diner. "My diner! My beautiful diner! I made all them tablecloths m'self." He looked around and saw the mess it was in. He stepped outside to see the creatures run off. "Oi! Come back here, ya ugly little swamp rats!" He turns on his leaf blower and sucks one of them in and starts to beat him up. He drags the one he beat up and threw it right towards the others, knocking them over like bowling pins. They all turn to see Dingodile coming at them. "Blow up my diner will ya?! I'll make ya pay through the nose!" The creatures quickly got back up and started to run for it. The creatures reaches their ship and started to set sail through the swamp for an inter dimensional rift to open. Dingodile stops to see the ship to vanish through it. "Oi! And don't come back!" He blows his leaf blower like he had just fired a shot. "I think I proved my point." Another dimensional rift opens from under him and he falls through. "Crickey!" A rift opens and he falls through and lands in the middle of a jungle. He looked around and saw nothing familiar to him. "Crickey, it looks like I'm not in the swamp anymore."
Elsewhere in an unknwon location, Wheel Gator enters through the sliding doors to make his report. Standing before him are two figures. One figure is revealed to be a male wearing a silver armor. He had purple gems on his shoulders and forehead and had a red jewel on his chest. He appears to be carrying a laser spear. The other is female and she has blonde hair and dressed a wizard-styled dress with spikes at the bottom, and a wizard hat shaped helmet.
"Sir Gareth and Lady Berkana, I have returned," Wheel Gator announced.
"Report," Berkana commanded.
"I have followed a cruise ship as instructed. I also saw a couple of humans doing battle with the creatures I was told about. The image of the battle is in my memory circuits. Those things are more impressive than I thought," Wheel Gator reported.
"Report directly to Dr. Doppler at once and he'll abstract the data," Gareth said. Wheel Gator nodded and headed out. They turned to each other with evil grins on their faces. "I can see why the master is interested in that world."
"indeed. This world along with several others will be the perfect world for Reploids to call home," Berkana said.
"Where we Mavericks can rule with an iron fist," Gareth said.
"Such a feat will take some time. But we will have to work fast," Berkana said.
"And not even the Maverick Hunters can stop us," Gareth said, laughing. She also laughed.
Eleswhere on a beautiful field with sheep grazing on the grass and strange structures built up, a small purple dragon with orange wings and two horns on his head and a spike at the end of his tail came running through a field on four legs. With him is a yellow dragonfly. He made his stop with a sigh.
"Man, things gets kinda boring when there's no bad guy to fry up. I never thought I would miss Gnasty Gnorc, Ripto, or the Rhynocs," the dragon said. He thought of something. "Hey, maybe we can just head for Avalar. I mean Elora is probably missing me like crazy." The dragonfly grins and does a kissy kissy sound. "Knock it off, Sparx, it's not like that. Elora and I are just friends." Sparx just gave a look that says sure you are. "Come on, Sparx, let's go and see everyone." Sparx was up for it and headed for a structure that turns out to be a portal.
Back at the ship bound for Izabe Island, Sora and Kairi were admiring the sunset as were Pikachu and Angel. Meowth was reading a magazine entitled, Balls of String Illustrated.
"Oh, I would give my left paw just to that ball of string for hours and hours," Meowth said in his thoughts.
"Excuse me," a new voice said. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel all turn to see Harley and his Cacturne. "I was just looking at the two of you and noticed your Pikachu, Eevee, and Meowth, so is it safe that you're entering the Purika Town Contest?"
"No. I already have my five ribbons," Kairi said, showing Harley her ribbons.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Quite impressive. You have to be really good if you won five already. What about your friend, there?" Harley asked.
"I'm not entering either. I'm just collecting Gym Badges to enter the Hoenn Pokémon League. I only need one more to get in," Sora said. "Good guess though."
"If you're not entering, then what brings you here?" Harley asked.
"We're just exploring around these islands before we get to Sootopolis City," Sora said.
"Also, we'll be watching the contest to support a friend," Kairi stated.
"How nice of you. I'm Harley," he introduced.
"I'm Kairi," she introduced.
"And I'm Sora," he introduced. He looked over to his Cacturne. "You gonna use your Cacturne for the contest?"
"Of course. Cacturne is my trusted partner," Harley said.
"Turne," Cacturne said.
"Cacturne looks happy enough. Gotta be since you raised it so well," Sora said.
"Thank you. You are so kind, Sora," Harley said. He took out a box. "Would you like some cookies? Baked them myself."
"They look pretty tasty," Sora said.
"Go ahead. Take one," Harley offered. Both Sora and Kairi took one each and took a bite.
"This is great. Thanks for the cookies, Harley," Sora said.
"Yes, thank you," Kairi said.
"You are welcome, Sora. And you too, Kairi. I'll let you get back to what you two were doing. You two seem like a nice couple. Ta-ta," Harley said as he and his Cacturne took his leave.
"So, what did you think of him?" Sora asked.
"He's seems eccentric, but he seems nice," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"But he does bake a mean cookie," Sora said.
Harley watches May training her Bulbasaur and he assumed she was entering the Purika Contest the same as him.
Elsewhere in the world of Avalar, a mole, wearing a white lab coat. He also has white hair and eyebrows. He wore dark brown pants and a pair of glasses.
With him is an anthromorphic deer doe, wearing a dress made of leaves and wore leaf bracelets on her wrists.
"What's so important that you had to call me down here, professor?" the faun asked.
"I wish I could be glad that you asked, Elora, but I'm afraid it's nothing but bad news," the professor said.
"What?" Elora asked. Just then, the dragon and Sparx came through the portal behind her, surprising Elora. "Spyro! Hi!" Spyro started to blush.
"Hi Elora. Just thought I surprise you with a visit," Spyro said, blushing like crazy. Elora was also blushing.
"It's always nice to see you, Spyro," Elora said.
"And it's a good thing that you're here, Spyro, because we are having a major crisis!" The professor exclaimed.
"Crisis?" Spyro said eagerly.
"Yes. It would seem that we have some sort of inter-dimensional crisis on our hands," the professor said.
"Inter-dimensional crisis? What do you mean?" Elora asked.
"Before I get into it, are you familiar with the multiverse theroy?" The professor asked.
"I am, but it's just an old wives tale," Elora said.
"No, it's in fact true. While doing some research on the universe, I have accidentally discovered another universe; an alternate universe," the professor said. The dragon, faun, and dragonfly looked at him.
"What do you mean, alternate, professor?" Spyro asked.
"There is more than one universe, and I had looked into a universe where you exist in, but slightly different. I thought it was some sort of glitch, but it turns out that it wasn't. Not only that, but there are different universes and they all exist. Many of which the laws of magic differs from each other," the professor explained.
"Wow, that is cool," Spyro cheered.
"Yes, but I'm afraid that's the bad news, because there is a band of evil beings plotting to take over the multiverse and rule over all of existence as we know it; past, present, and future," the professor said.
"What does the past, present, and future has to do with it?" Elora asked.
"I have discovered that the power of time is somehow involved. So, I fear that the villains will learn of our realms here, and rule over us just like when Ripto made such an attempt. I was going to get you and fill you in after I was briefing it with Elora, but you seem to save me the trouble," the professor said. Elora had a troubling look on her face.
"This desn't sound good," Elora said.
"No, but I know there's some butt to kick to kick out there. So, send me out there, so I can give them the hot foot!" Spyro said.
"Wait a moment, Spyro! I must warn you, the realms you'll be visiting will be slightly different than you're used to. There could be no portals to come in and out, so I can't let you go unless you are certain," the professor warned.
"Send me over anyway, professor! I'm not afraid!" Spyro said. He turned to Sparx. "What do you say, Sparx? Ready for an adventure?" Sparx buzzes in agreement.
"I think I'll go with you, for moral support," Elora said, blushing. "I mean, I'm pretty curious to see what's out there."
"Better you than Hunter, but you sure?" Spyro asked.
"I'm sure," Elora answered. The professor could see she has made up her mind. He pushes a button and a portal activates.
"Here you go," the professor said. "Be sure to bring me back some samples if you can."
"Sure," Spyro said.
"Keep an eye on things while we're gone," Elora said. Spyro, ELora, and Sparx goes through the portal and it closes.
"Be careful out there," the professor said.
Spyro, Sparx, and Elora had arrived into a world neither one of them recognizes, seeing blocks floating in the air with question marks engraved on them. Also, seeing pipes coming out from the ground.
"What kind of world is this?" Elora asked.
"I don't know, but it looks cool enough," Spyro said. Sparx buzzes in agreement.
Just then, a couple of turtles were watching them. They are both yellow, but one has a green shell and shoes while the other has a red shell and shoes.
Back in Hoenn, Harley had just met May and he developed a dislike for her for the fact she used her Pokédex on his Cacturne, and she called it scary instead of cool, also she said his cookies weren't half bad.
"What's with that girl? The nerve of her," Harley spitefully said to himself. "First she doesn't know a thing about Cacturne, then she called Cacturne scary, and then she said my cookies aren't that bad! At least Sora and Kairi were considerate to give my cookies a proper compliment! She'll pay dearly for this insult! I'll make sure of it!"
Meanwhile in a shack somewhere in Purika Town, three anthromorphic animals are currently occupying it. One is a large, green-skinned crocodile with spiky red scales down his tail and goldenrod-colored eyes. The crocodile sports a thick body that resembles that of an S-shape, with a broad upper body starts including his long arms, getting slimmer towards his tail and legs. His belly, snout and arms are light green, while the rest of his body is dark green. He wears small, black shoulder pads, white gloves with black-and-orange cuffs, embellished with gold buckles as well as black shoes figured with white and orange colors. Vector also wears a gold chain around his neck, serving as his trademark accessory alongside his pair of black-and-grey wireless headphones. The other is a purple chameleon with a yellow horn between his gold eyes and a ridge of three black scales down his spine and a coiled tail. He wears dark purple and black shoes with elaborate cuffs, white gloves with a purple back, and studded bands around his wrists and ankles. And the third is an anthropomorphic black-and-yellow striped bee with yellow-and-black striped antennae and golden eyes. He wears an orange vest with a bee emblem on the left, white and orange shoes, white gloves cuffed with black rings, a black pilot's helmet with a dark pink rim and flight goggles.
"Any idea where we are, Vector?" The bee asked.
"Judging by our current situation, Charmy, I would say that rift took us completely into a whole different world. This world seems different from Mobius in every way," Vector said.
"Then, how do we get back to Mobius?" The chameleon asked.
"If I knew that, then I wouldn't be wondering about it myself. The best we can do is some recon mission. Study our current enviroment and learn of their customs and mingle with the locals," Vector stated.
"You and Charmy will stick out like two sore thumbs," the chameleon pointed out. The crocodile looked right at him and stroked his chin.
"Hm, you may be right, Espio. We can't afford to draw attention to ourselves. But you're the only one here who can go about without anyone noticing," Vector said. Espio nodded in agreement.
Upon arrival on Izabe Island, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, May, and Max made a stop at the Pokémon Center, unaware of Espio the Chameleon being invisible and followed them inside. He looked around and saw the different kinds of Pokémon inside.
"This must some sort of hospital, but not for humans," Espio said in his thoughts. "Vector was right when he said we're in a different world." Pikachu sniffs around and knew they weren't alone. He looked around and saw nothing.
"Pika?" Pikachu questioned. Angel looked at Pikachu with concern.
"Is something the matter, Pikachu?" - Angel subtitle.
"Something's here with us. It definitely not human, but it's not a Pokémon either." - Pikachu subtitle. Angel took a whiff and she knew he wasn't wrong.
"I smell it now. If it's not a Pokémon, then what could it be?" - Angel subtitle.
"No idea. Let's just hope it's not hostile." - Pikachu subtitle. Angel had to hope it was something friendly. Espio continued his recon mission without being noticed with the exception of Pokémon sniffing him out. A Growlithe starts barking. Espio almost dropped his camouflage, but he kept his cool. Growlithe's trainer comes to the puppy Pokémon still barking at the camouflaged chameleon.
"What's the matter, Growlithe? Nothing's there. What's gotten into you?" The trainer asked. Espio went over to the counter where Sora, Kairi and the Pokémon were. Sora hands Nurse Joy the Pokéballs containing Sceptile, Lombre, Nincada, and Metang, while Kairi hands the nurse the balls containing Plusle, Minun, Corsola, Surskit, and Castform.
"Can you have a look at our Pokémon, Nurse Joy?" Sora asked.
"Of course. I'll be sure they receive the best care," Nurse Joy assured the couple.
"Also, could you see to it that this Meowth gets the same kind of care?" Kairi asked.
"Of course. I'll get started right away," Nurse Joy said.
"Thank you," Meowth said. Nurse Joy winced when she heard him talk for the first time.
"No, it's not a trick, he really can talk," Sora said. Nurse Joy was skeptical at first, but a patient was a patient.
"So, the treatment is for those creatures. I need to learn some more more information before I return to Vector and Charmy," Espio said in his thoughts. He did some exploring around the Pokémon Center, getting as much information as he could.
"You think you have what it takes to win this contest?" One Coordinator asked.
"I don't think I have a chance. I know I have a chance," another Coordinator said. Espio went down further to know more. Harley caught his eye when he saw a sinister plan.
"I just need to use that kid to milk some embarrassing experience before the Contest starts," Harley said as he snickered wickedly. Espio knew dishonor when he saw it, so he decided to keep an eye on him and make his move when the time was right.
On the very next morning, Vector and Charmy were hiding in some bushes, not wanting to draw attention to themselves.
"Where could Espio be? He should have been back from recon before bed time," Charmy said.
"Probably held up somewhere. We can't wait for him," Vector said.
"This looks like a good spot," Sora said. Vector and Charmy ducked down, not wanting to be seen. Their eyes poked from the shrubs to spot Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth arriving on the scene. He turned to the scratch cat Pokémon. "You ready to sharpen your claws, Meowth?"
"Like I have a choice," Meowth said.
"This that cat from Mobius, like us?" Charmy whispered.
"Shh," Vector shushed. Sora takes out a Pokéball and threw it right into the air. "Come on out, Nincada!" The Pokéball opens and Nincada makes his entrance. He bends down to Nincada. "Okay, Nincada, Meowth has volunteered to be your sparring partner, so just do your best, okay?" Nincada nodded and got into place. Meowth let out his claws.
"Okay, Nincada, this ain't gonna be a walk in a park with me, so show me what you've got!" Meowth dared the trainee Pokémon. "Now here comes a Fury Swipes barrage!" Meowth ran towards Nincada.
"Okay, Nincada! Use your own Fury Swipes!" Sora ordered. Nincada comes at the scratch cat Pokémon and they both clash their claws. Charmy was amazed by the braw as Vector was eyeing Sora for some reason.
"Something is telling me he's no ordinary kid. The big question is, what makes him so special? Better keep an eye on him and learn more," Vector said in his thoughts.
"Okay Nincada! Use Slash now!" Sora ordered. Nincada swings his claw at Meowth and lands a big blow. "Good work, Nincada!" Nincada beamed at the compliment.
"Are you okay, Meowth?" Kairi asked with concern.
"Ugh, I would glady pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today," Meowth said in a daze. He shook his head. Nincada then started to evolve. Nincada had evolved into a Ninjask, but in the process of evolution, a Shedinja had been created.
"It worked!" Sora cheered.
"You were right to have to save some space on your team, Sora! "Kairi said.
"If I brought in more more, then I wouldn't have gotten a Shedinja along with a Ninjask," Sora said.
"What does that mean?" Charmy asked.
"It looks like there's a limit on how many of those things they can hold onto," Vector deduced.
"If we're done here, don't you think we should head for the Contest Hall? That's what we came here to see, isn't it?" Meowth reminded the couple.
"You're right, Meowth. We should get going if we don't want to miss May's performance," Sora said. With that said, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth started to make their way to the Contest Hall
"A contest? What kind of contest are they talking about?" Charmy asked.
"I dunno, but we should follow them and find out," Vector said. He turned to the bee. "Let's go."
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth had arrived in the contest hall and they saw May in a frantic fit.
"Hey May, something wrong?" Sora asked.
"You're not nervous again, are you?" Kairi asked.
"No, I'm not nervous. I'm just worried about Max, you haven't seen him, have you?" My asked.
"No, we thought he was with you," Sora said.
"He said he wanted to use the bathroom, but he hasn't come back yet and I'm worried," May said.
Just then, Max came along and he's accompanied by Harley.
"I'm here!" Max announced.
"Hope we're not late!" Harley said. They reached the group. Harley saw Sora and Kairi next to May. "Oh, the happy couple from the boat, hello again."
"Hey Harley," Sora greeted. May sternly looked at her little brother.
"And where have you been, young man?" May scowled. "I told you to come right back afterwards!"
"Wait, wait, wait, you shouldn't be mad at Max, because this was all my fault," Harley assured her. May looked right at him. "It's like this. I tend to get really nervous before a contest so I was having a cup of tea to calm down a little bit when all of a sudden I bumped into your little Maximus! And when I learned he was your brother, May, I insisted that he come along with me." Unknown to the group, Vector and Charmy had caught up both wearing a trenchcoat and fedora hat. They also wore a pair of sunglasses and Vector's mouth was covered in a scarf. He raised a brow.
"Nevous befroe a contest, huh? That doesn't seem like it to me," Vector said in his thoughts.
"And then he bought me this huge ice cream sundae with sprinkles and everything!" Max said.
"That was nice of you Thanks, Harley," May said.
"No problem. Your brother was quite the gentleman," Harley said. "Now, if you excuse me, I need to freshen up. Good luck in the contest, May." He took his leave as he snickered. "Phase one will get May to lose the contest, and if that doesn't work, then I'll move onto phase two." He grinned wickledly as he took out a small tape recorder. As he walked down the hall, he tripped over and fell. He dropped his tape recorder. It was actually Espio who tripped him. Espio went over to the tape recorder and hastenly switched tapes inside it. He places the tape recorder back to him before he could notice. "Ow! What was that? How much wax did that stupid janitor on?"
"Hey! I just happen to have waxed the floor an hour ago, and I put on the required amount! I don't tell you Coordinators how to do your job, so don't you tell me how to do mine!" The janitor barked. He took his leave.
In a corner Espio dropped his invisiblity as Vector and Charmy took off their hats and Vector took off his scarf.
"What took you so long, Espio?" Vector asked.
"I was held up. But I think the contents on this cassette will provide us with a clue," Espio said, holding it out.
"Good work, ninja man!" Vector said.
"How did you get it?" Charmy asked.
"I switched a tape I had and replaced it before he could notice. I did not wish to do that, but let's just say he gave me no other option," Espio said.
"We can't afford to let a clue like this slip by. Also, we can compare notes later. Let's go and catch ourselves a show while we're here," Vector said.
"What kind of show?" Espio asked skeptical.
"Let's just say that it'll entertain you and educate you," Vector said.
"Also, there's this one kid we're following. He has brown spiky hair and there's a girl with him that has red hair," Charmy said.
"I see," Espio said. Vector took out a disguise for Espio.
"Put this on. We don't wanna stand out in the crowd," Vector said. "Besides, it's about to begin."
The Purika Town Pokémon Contest has officially started as Vivian took her spot as Mr. Contesta, Mr. Suziko, and Lisia taking their places as judges. Sora and Kairi could see her. The crowd starts cheering as the contest has officially begun. Max sits with Sora and Kairi for the duration of the contest.
"Ladies and gentlemen! The Purika town Pokémon Contest is about to start!" Vivian announced. The crowd starts cheering again. "All of the performances will be expertly evaluated by our three judges! Without any further ado, let's begin round one!" The first sixteen Coordinators had done their perfomances.
"May's up next," Sora said.
"She sure is," Max agreed.
"Let's see how well she does," Kairi said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"After that practice she did yesterday, how can she miss?" Meowth asked.
"Coming up next, we have entry number seventeen!" Vivian announced. "Okay, May, you're up!" May enrters the stage with Pokéball in hand.
"And we're ready to go!" May said, holding her Pokéball firmly. She threw it. "Bulbasaur! Come out and take the stage!" Her Bulbasaur makes her entry. "Razor Leaf into Vine Whip!" Bulbasaur fires Razor Leaf and smacks the leaves one at a time.
"Amazing! Bulbasaur is knoxking down its own Razor Leaves one after another! Wow!" Vivian announced.
"What a splendid performance!" Lisia cheered.
"Truly remarkable!" Mr. Suziko said.
"Yes, it was most impressive. Finesse, speed, and accuracy," Mr. Contesta said.
"That's shwoing them, May!" Max cheered for his sister.
"May did a great job with her Bulbasaur. I can tell they both gotten stronger since our Contest battle," Kairi said.
"She sure has. She must have done some extra training," Sora said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said.
Vector, Espio, and Charmy watched on and they were impressed by the performances. Vector has been taking some mental notes.
"I see what you mean, Vector. One performance after another," Espio said. "Truly amazing."
"The show's not over yet. We got to know more," Vector said. The other Coordinators had each done their part, leaving only one left.
"The premaries are now drawing to a close. But here's the final performance of this round! Entry number thirty! Okay, Harley, you're up!" Vivian announced as Harley made his entry.
"It's my turn? Okay then," Harley said,taking out a Pokéball. "Come on out my calm, cool, and collective Cacturne!" Harley called out as he threw it. His Cacturne makes an entrance. The audience seemed rather intimidated by its appearence. May was even watching in the back.
"It hasn't even done anything yet and the audience seems to be totally mesmerized by it, unreal," May said.
"It's good to see the audience understands that I don't allow talking during our performances," Harley sad. "Cacturne! Bullet Seed!" His Cacturne fires a barrage of Bullet Seed on the stage.
"Cacturne has launched its Bullet Seed attack with amazing velocity!" Vivian announced.
"That was incredible speed," Lisia said impressed.
"And his technique, simply pristine," Contesta said.
"Wow! Remarkable!" Mr. Suziko added.
"Well, you ain't seen nothing yet, till now," Harley said. He snaps his fingers. Cacturne makes the finishing touches with Bullet Seed. The whole audience was amazed to see Harley had his Cacturne fire Bullet Seed, making it into a skull and crossbones.
"Mighty impressive," Vector said.
"It's a skull! A giant skull and cross bones etched into the performance field!" Vivian announced.
"Now, that was truly a rare performance," Lisia said.
"And a remarkable one too," Mr. Suziko said.
"It may not looked that diifcult, but I'm sure that technique took many hours of strenuous training," Mr. Contesta said.
"What a wonderful way to end our first round of competition with Harley and his Cacturne!" Vivian announced. The crowd starts cheering. May was watching in the back, and was astounded by what she saw.
"Every entrant was really good. I wonder if I'll even make it to the second round," May said. The judges had made up their minds on who is going to be moving on in the next round.
"And now to announce the winning results! These are the ones who successfully passed the primaries and will move on to the second round!" Vivian announced as the computer has chosen the four finalists. May, Harley, and two more male Coordinators had made it through to the second round.
"May made it!" Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Awesome!" Max said.
"I was hoping she would," Kairi said.
"But you know she's not gonna find it easy, right?" Sora asked.
"I think youre right, Sora. That Cacturne is so scary, I think he might scare six of my nine lives," Meowth said.
Back stage, Harley was surprised to see May had made it to the finals.
"What do you know, May's not a bad Coordinator after all. Looks like phase two will take place after all," Harley said.
Over to King Dedede, he wonders around the city and he didn't anything he knew. There were no waddle Dees or Waddle Doos to call upon and no Kirby around.
"I know I'm not in Popstar anymore. I ebtter arm myself, just in case I'm not the only one who got here," King Dedede said. He took out his huge hammer from under his robe. "I hope those things likes pancakes, because that's what they'll be if they get any ideas on messing with me." He smirked.
"Excuse us," a girl's voice spoke. King Dede slowly turns around and sees seven girls behind him. They seem to be human versions of Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash. One girl has light orange skin and red and yellow hair. She has olive green eyes. She wore a black vest over an orange shirt with a shimmering sun marking, and a dark purple skirt. She also wore black boots with red, and a grayish color on them. That is who the voice belongs to. "You don't seem to be around here." Human Twilight wore a dark pink vest over a cyan shirt and a bow tie. She wore a dark purple skirt with the Pony Twilight's Cutie Mark. Human Pinkie Pie wore a white and pink tank top with a rah-rah tutu skirt, a blue-ribboned headband, white leggingsandpinkand blue heeled strap sandals. Human Fluttershy wore a bluish green dress with butterflies imprinted on it along with a pair of sandals with butterflies and a pink ribbon around her legs. Human Rainbow Dash wore a blue jacket over a white shirt with the pony Rainbow Dash's Cutie Mark. She also wore black pants with neon rainbow lightning streaks. She wore white and blue shoes with red laces and bottoms. Human Applejack wore a white shirt with green short sleeves with an apple on it and a jean skirt, a boots with her three apples. Human Rarity wore wore a blue dress and a purple short skirt. Her dress and shoes are incrested in diamonds. They were accompanied by a dog that is very similar to Spike. Each of them wore a jewel of a different color for each of them.
"What gave you that idea?" King Dedede asked.
'Well for one thing, there isn't anything like you around here," human Rainbow Dash said.
"So, that kinda gave it away," human Applejack said.
"Also, your attire is obviously royal," human Rarity added.
"So, we knew you couldn't be from this world," human Twilight said.
"So, we we figured that you were from a completely different world, so you couldn't be from Equestria, a magical kingdom filled with ponies and magic, and if you were there, then someone we know from there would have mentioned you," human Pinkie Pie said.
"Uh-huh," human Fluttershy said.
"You hit the nail on the head there," King Dedede said. "I'm not from around here like you figured. I'm King Dedede and I am from Dream Land! Not only that, but I am its king."
"We'll see about that," the girl said taking King Dedede by the hand and her eyes glows white. She saw the past. She saw King Dedede eating his meal right up to when he fell into the dimensional rift and ended up in their world. "So, that's how you got here. Not sure what they wanted with you."
"How did you know that?" King Dedede asked.
"Sunset Shimmer can see into people's memories just by touching them," human Twilight said. "Anyway, my name is Twilight Sparkle."
"I'm Applejack."
"M-My name's Fluttershy."
"I'm Pinkie Pie!"
"Rarity."
"And I'm Rainbow Dash."
"And you already know my name," Sunset Shimmer said.
"Do any of you know a way for me to get back? I need to get back soon," King Dedede said.
"Don't worry. We'll do what we can to help you," Fluttershy said.
Just then, another dimensional rift opens and two more figures fell out. They were both robots. One is purple and has a clock on his chest. He had two bells on his head as an alarm clock has. The other is dark blue with yellow lips. His head is shaped a drop of oil and his left arm is an oil pump. He wore a red scarf and has an oil drop logo on his chest.
"Hey Time Man, any idea where we are?" The oil based robot asked.
"Not in the slightest, Oil Man. It won't take long until Dr. Light mounts a rescue for us," Time Man said. The two robots saw the seven girls and penguin-like king looking at them.
"Hey there," Oil Man greeted.
Over to Dingodile, he is armed with his leaf blower as he is ready for anything coming his way.
"Gotta find a way out of this jungle and head back to the swamp and build my diner back up," Dingodile said. He stopped in his tracks when he heard some laughing. He turned to his right an saw a baby ape wearing blue footy pajamas and a green pacifier. He walked up to the baby ape and looked right at him. "Hey there, little fella. Are ya lost?" Just then, a large head, similar to the toddler, but a bigger mouth. He has brown eyes and dark fur. He wore a white t-shirt with a vest over it that is blue on the front and has two yellow and orange buttons. The backside is colored yellow and green in a checkerboard pattern. He wore a red cap backwards. He punches Dingodile right in the face.
"Get away from my baby brother, Kremling!" The large ape said. He walked over to his younger brother. "There you are Kiddy Kong. I told you to stay close to home. You know it's not safe with Kremlings wondering around. He carries his little brother in one arm as he drags the dingo crocodile hybrird by the tail and he's still holding his leaf blower.
Back in Purika Town, the battle Harley and a young male Coordinator.
"Now let's move on to the second round and begin the Contest battles! he purpose of these next battles is to reduce your opponent's points as much as possible within a five minute time period while performing your attacks with style, grace, and beauty," Vivian announced.
"So, that's how it's done," Vector said in his thoughts.
"Start the clock!" Vivian asaid. The clock starts running.
"Go! Azurill!" THe boy called out as his Azurill made its entrance.
"Come on out, Cacturne, and show 'em who rules!" Harley called out. His Cacturne comes out to batte against the polka dot Pokémon.
"Start with bubble and then Slam, Azurill!" The boy ordered. Azurill fires Bubble first and then starts bouncing on the bubbles, one after another.
"That's so cute!" May cooed.
"That's what you call an adorable and explosive attack!" Vivian announced.
"If you insist on throwing the word 'adorable' around, then you better be talking about yours truly," Harley said. "Cacturne! Pop those bubbles with your Poison Sting!" Cacturne fires Poison Sting and all the bubbles pops one after another. Harley's opponent's points suffers for it.
"And Azurill's attack fails!" Vivian announced.
"For our next attack, Cacturne will use Bullet Seed!" Harley announced. Cacturne fires Bullet Seed and does loads of heavy damage. Azurill had been taken down.
"No, Azurill!" The boy gasped. The buzzers buzzes, indicating that the battle is over.
"There's the buzzer! Azurill has been defeated! Out of the contest! Winners proceed to the final stage!" Vivian announced. The crowd starts cheering. "Now, ladies and gentlemen, direct your attention to the second battle on the first stage." Harley walks out of the stage and stops to speak with May.
"You're up, May," Harley said.
"Congratulations on making it to the final round, Harley," May said.
"Thank you, May. You go get 'em out there," Harley said. Before May could go even further Harley spoke to her again. "May, I'd like to give you a little advice about Surkit's speed," Harley said.
"Oh? You mean how fast they are? Is there some secret about about slowing them down?" May asked.
"What?! She knows about Surkit's speed?!" Harley exclaimed in his thoughts. He spoke out loud. "Nevermind. I can see you don't need it after all."
"Um, okay," May said. She heads off to the stage for her battle.
"Shit! It's not going to be as easy as I thought. Let's just hope for the best, I guess," Harley said. The battle between May and a Coordinator named Kent rages on as May has lost less points than Surskit did.
"Let's get right back into this thing! Water Pulse and then Quick Attack!" Kent ordered. Surskit forms a ball of water and slams it to the ground. Surskit moves in towards the seed Pokémon.
"Vine Whip! Aim for Surskit's feet!" May ordered. Bulbasaur strikes back at Surskit with Vine Whip and knocks Surskit off its feet. "Finish up with Petal Dance!" Bulbasaur fires Petal Dance and struck Surskit.
"How lovely," Lisia said.
"Poetry in motion," Mr. Contesta said.
"Truly remarkable," Mr. Suziko added.
Surskit had been taken down, much to Kent's dismay. The buzzer goes off.
"And that's that! The winner is May and her Bulbasaur!" Vivian announced.
Espio was waiting for this moment. He took out the cassette Harley had before. Harley was still unaware of the decoy the ninja chameleon had switched when he tripped Harley.
"It'll be time," Espio said in his thoughts.
"The plan to humiliate her is coming up," Harley said.
The battle between May and Harley was about to begin. Harley was steamed about her winning it, but he kept his cool.
"Looks like we're at the last round," Charmy said.
"How right you are, Charmy. This should be fun to watch," Vector said.
"Indeed," Espio agreed.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we're rapidly coming to the close of this year's exciting Purika Pokémon Contest! Here the finalsts!" Vivian announced.
"So, what did you know about Surskit that I didn't?" May asked.
"I was gonna tell you that Surskit are pretty slow Pokémon, but the problem is you didn't fall for it like I was hoping you would!" May was appalled by the fact Harley was gonna sabotage her.
"Why would want to lie to me, like that?" May asked.
"Because I don't like you. I disliked you from the minute we met, so why not try to hurt your chances? You're not even serious about Pokémon Contests, you're just here to show off and play around. Hello!" Harley said. May glared at him angrily.
"We'll see who's playing around after this match!" May hissed.
"I'm looking forward in beating you too!" Harley said.
Sora and Kairi could see the sparks flying between those two.
"Knew he was going to show his true colors sooner or later," Sora said in his thoughts.
"Let the battle begin!" Vivian announced.
"Bulbasaur! Come on out!" May called out as she threw her Pokéball and her Bulbasaur comes out to battle.
Here we go, Cacturne! Let's show 'em how it's done!" Harley called out. He threw his Pokéball and his Cacturne is sent out to battle. Poison Sting!" Cacturne fires Poison Sting to strike at Bulbasaur.
"Bulbasaur! Use Vine Whip!" May ordered. Bulbasaur blocks Poison Sting with Vine Whip.
"What?!" Harley growled.
"Now, follow that with Razor Leaf!" May ordered. Bulbasaur fires Razor Leaf right at the scarescrow Pokémon.
"Block that with Bullet Seed, Cacturne!" Harley ordered. Cacturne fires Bullet Seed and it blocks Bulbasaur's Razor Leaf. Both May and Harley were losing points from left to right.
"And it looks like Bulbasaur and Cactrne are off to a fierce start!" Vivian announced. "With steely offense and defense neither's giving an inch!"
"Go from Vine Whip to Tackle, Bulbasaur!" May ordered. Bulbasaur starts up by striking at Cacturne and then charges towards Cacturne a full force of her body, using Vine Whip as a boost.
"Cacturne! Get up!" Harley called out.
"Cacturne hits the dirt! Thanks to an ingenious combination of Vine Whip and Tackle!" Vivian announced.
"Who's playing around now?" May taunted.
"What? How dare you speak to me that way!" Harley hissed. He reached his pocket and reaches for his tape recorder. "Let's see how you like this." He presses the button and the audio sounds like it was in a shower. "Wait a minute that's not it!" Vector knew it was the sound of his shower and him singing in it. Badly.
"Oh no," Vector said in a squeak.

It played in an endless loop.
"Where's that coming from?" Kairi asked.
"Don't know, but whoever it is, sounds like they need to have singing lessons," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu agreed.
"Or be put out of his misery," Meowth said.
"But you gotta admit it's pretty funny," Max said, laughing. Vector glared at both of Espio and Charmy.
"You were recording me singing in the shower again?!" Vector exclaimed.
"Well, it was payback for that prank you pulled on me last week," Charmy said. Vector pulled a flower trick and it squirted soda, making him so sticky. He wanted to have revenge on him for that prank.
"To my shame, Vector for playing the role in it. He insisted that I wait until I wait for the opportune moment. And I will say it was well worth the wait," Espio said, almost laughing.
"You were right, Harley, I do like this! I didn't know you had a sense of humor," May said. The whole audience laughed, making him so steamed.
"I don't! I'll just take you down right here and now!" Halrey stated. "Cacturne! Feint Attack!" Cacturne vanishes for a moment before striking back at Bulbasaur, costing May some points.
"Haley and his Cacturne are coming back at May with a that took a huge chunk of May's points!" Vivian announced.
"Bulbasaur! Razor Leaf!" May ordered. Bulbasaur fires Razor Leaf.
"Cacturne! Dodge and use Poison Sting!" Cacturne fires Poison Stiong and struck Bulbasaur on the mark. May lost some more points in the process.
"Hang in there, Bulbasaur! Vine Whip!" May ordered. Bulbasaur sends out Vine Whip to strike at Cacturne. "Petal Dance and then Razor Leaf!" Bulbasaur fires both of Petal Dance and Razor Leaf and both had struck Cacturne, making Harley lose some points.
"Cacturne! Feint Attack!" Harley ordered. Cacturne comes at Bulbasaur to land a hit.
"Cacturne is coming back at Bulbasaur with another Feint Attack! How will May respond?" Vivian asked.
"Bulbasaur! Vine Whip!" May ordered. Bulbasaur blocks it with Vine WHip, grabbing him by his foot, much to Harley's shock and dismay. "Make that Cacturne fly!" Bulbasaur throws Cacturne straight into the air. "Razor Leaf and Petal Dance again!" May ordered. Bulbasaur fires Razor Leaf and Petal Dance and it ame out even more graceful than the last time.
"Look at this! A Razor and Petal Dance combination and it's even more lovelier than the last time. It's springtime in Purika Stadium and everything is in full bloom!" Vivian announced.
"That's the way, May!" Max cheered.
"Turn the tables on him!" Kairi added.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"It's the prettiest thing I have ever seen!" Lisia said.
Me too! Remarkable!" Mr. Suziko added.
"Such a creative use of attacks! I am most impressed!" Mr. Contesta said. With that done, Cacture came falling down and knocked out.
"Cacturne!" Harley gasped. The buzzer goes off, telling them that the battle and the contest was now over.
"So, Cacturne's out! While May and Bulbasaur top off their rally with a victory!" Vivian announced, making the crowd cheer.
"We won," May said. "Bulbasaur, we did it! We did it!" Bulbasaur runs to her trainer and nuzzles her. "You're the best, Bulbasaur."
"Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur said. Kairi was proud to see May had won.
"She has gotten much stronger since Rubello Town. I know she'll make it even farther," Kairi said. Harley calls back his Cacturne, angered by the fact he lost. He just stormed off in a huff. May stood before the judges.
"We now take great pride in awarding May and her Bulbasaur this Purika Ribbonas proof of their outstanding victoryin this year's Purika Pokémon Contest!" Vivian announced. May accepts her fourth ribbon and smiles happily.
Harley was fuming over his failed plan and loss.
"I can't believe I lost the tape of her childhood trauma and humiliating her publicly . Also, her win was just luck. We'll meet again, that's when her luck will run out," Harley said.
Over to Vector, Espio, and Charmy, Vector was still mad at Charmy for that prank he pulled, but to be fair he did kinda deserved it after that stunt the crocodile pulled.
"Look, Vector, I'm sorry, okay! You deserved it after embrassing me in front of Saffron like that!" Charmy said.
"I should have known you would pull that on me," Vector said. He turned to Espio.
"Did you have to do that, Espio?" Vector asked.
"I only did it, because this Harley had impure intentions. I figured I would see if he would learn his lesson by how dishonor will lead him nowhere. Also, it was an opportunity to help Charmy get his revenge," Espio said.
"Well, the good news out of it is, nobody we know heard it. If they did, I will never hear the end of it," Vector said.
"Thanks for the moral support, Sora and Kairi," May said, catching their attention. "Where to now?"
"Sora and I figured we could go around Izabe Island for a bit. So, Serrosey City is just on the way to Sootolpolis CIty," Kairi said.
"Good luck in your Gym battle, Sora," Max said.
"Not a problem, Max. I won't need it," Sora said. He turned to May. "And you gave that Harley exactly what he deserved for trying to pull that fast one on you."
"I think so too, Sora. That Harley tried to psyche me out with that Surskit lie, that's one thing, but what did someone singing in the shower had to do with anything?" May asked.
"Not a clue," Sora said. He turned to Meowth.
"Don't look at me. I didn't even do anything. Besides, I was with you the whole time," Meowth said.
"Let's get going. Good luck on your way," Sora said.
"You too," May said, waving back at them.
"Those two are on the move," Charmy said. "Now what?"
"What else? Follow them and see where they're heading. Team Choatix! We're on a go!" Vector announced.
With that said, Chaotix proceeded on with their mission to see where Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth are heading. What all sort of adventures will they have, and how will Choatix proceed without being noticed? More to come in our next chapter.
