Episode 268: Cold as Regice
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth had come across an ancient city similar to the ones of Regirock and Registeel.
"Is it me or does this scene look very familiar?" Sora asked.
"It kinda does. A whole lot of these huts are covered in ice and snow," Kairi said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel added.
"It ain't familiar to me, so what's the big deal, anyway?" Meowth asked. Pikachu looked right at the scratch cat Pokémon.
"Angel and I filled you in on the cities of Regirock and Registeel. We're gonna find out if it's what we think it is." - Pikachu subtitle.
"Right. And they whole being awake and smashing the place to bits. Yeah, yeah. I'd be cranky too if somebody just woke me up after a nice quiet sleep," Meowth said.
They explored the old city and found some relics similar to the ones they saw before. They came across an ancient mural of Regice.
"Look at this," Kairi said.
"I knew it. This is Regice City," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Regice City? For a city made of ice, it's a pretty cool place to name," Meowth said. Sora took out his Pokédex to get information on Regice.
Regice, the Iceberg Pokémon
Type: Ice
This Pokémon's body is made of solid ice. It's said that Regice was born beneath thick ice in the ice age. With cold air that can reach temperatures as low as negative 328 degrees Fahrenheit, Regice instantly freezes any creature that approaches it.
"Now I'm getting cold just thinking about it," Sora said, putting his Pokédex away. Kairi wraps her arms around Sora in an affectionate manner.
"Feel warm, Sora?" Kairi asked.
"I do now, Kairi," Sora said. Meowth rolls his eyes as he sat down on the snow.
"Here we go again," Meowth said. That earned a glare from Pikachu and Angel and he knew better than to mouth out, for now.
Back in Pallet Town, Yuta sat on the breakfast table, happily eating the breakfast his wife and mother-in-law had made. The Pichu were enjoying the Pokémon food along with Flareon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Espeon. He read the newspaper as he sipped his coffee about the latest Team Rocket attempted theft of a boy's Delcatty.
"Well, look at this. Another Team Rocket caper had been taken down and the Team Rocket Members had been arrested," Yuta said.
"I must say, it's about time someone is doing something about those scoundrels," Kairi's grandmother said.
"I'll say. Whoever they are, they are sure making Team Rocket look like chumps," Yuta said.
"I would call it a giant relief because it's unbearable to believe an organization as bad as Jakira could still be out there and no one would stand up to them," Mirei said.
"Pichu," the Spiky-eared Pichu said.
"Pichu," the Shiny Pichu said.
"Putting that aside, have you heard from Kairi and Sora?" Yuta asked his wife.
"The last time I heard from them they said they were heading for Sootopolis City. Sora has to earn one more Gym Badge," Mirei said.
"That's good. I just hope we'll be in time for the Grand Festival," Yuta said.
"Me too. I am looking forward in seeing her again," Kairi's grandmother said.
"And, I'm thinking of inviting Ventus and his two friends with us. I hope it's okay," Mirei said.
"It's fine with me. Ventus is a great kid. I know he'd want to see Sora again," Yuta said. The two Pichu looked at Kairi's father and he chuckled. "Don't worry, you two can come along. I know Pikachu is missing you like crazy." Their little faces lit up at the thought of seeing their adoptive big brother again.
In Celadon City, a Pokémon fortune teller booth had been set up as Butch and Cassidy had put in disguises as an elderly couple. Jessie and James were on the scene.
"Looks like it's Cassidy and Butch setting up a phiny Pokémon fortune teller scheme," Jessie said.
"And if there's anyone more deserving to our revenge, it's those two," James said.
"You're right," Jessie said. "The least we can do is humiliate them before we send them to jail."
"Knowing Giovanni, he'll bail them out while he'd leave us to rot," James said. "Or escape on their own."
"And we'll foil them again," Jessie said. Jessie and James got set to put their revenge into action.
Cassidy and Butch all had the victim's Pokémon in cages. They removed their disguises.
"Can't wait to get rid of these disguises," Cassidy said.
"It'll be worth it once our phony fotune teller scheme is a huge success," Butch said.
"You're right. It's always worth it to steal Pokémon from those little kids. Just the thought of them crying that they stupidly gave them away to us just makes it even sweeter," Cassidy said, laughing.
"Anyway, just who do you think our new partners are? The ones that's got everyone talking?" Butch asked.
"Who knows? If they're anything like us, then they're already okay in my book," Cassidy said. "And from what I heard, they're so mysterious, even the boss has doesn't know who they are."
"If they do show themselves, I'm going to bet they're up to something big. Something so big, Team Rocket would want a huge piece of that pie."
"That's if those so-called partners are willing to share with us," Cassidy said. Jessie and James were listening on the whole thing. Cassidy and Butch make contact with Giovanni, sitting on his chair.
"It's good to see you again. Have you been successful?" Giovanni asked.
"Everything is going as planned, sir," Butch said.
"That phony fortune telling scheme is working like a charm. The forubne book that we purchased in Saffron City was easy to copy," Cassidy said. "None of the trainers suspects that it's a sham and they left all their Pokémon with us."
"Excellent. I knew I picked the right people for the job. People could never resist throwing their money away on such nonsense. I am looking forward to seeing those wonderful Pokémon. Close down your little daycare and bring them to base immediately," Giovanni ordered.
"At once," Cassidy and Butch said, cutting coomunication. Before they could get started, a huge stream of smoke comes from nowhere.
"What the hell?!" Butch exclaimed.
"Who is it?"" Cassidy asked. Just then, Arbok, Seviper, Dustox, Weezing, Cacnea, and Victreebel all come out to battle with them. "Where did they come from?"
"Who cares? Let's just nab them too!" Butch said, taking out three Pokéballs.
"You're right, Butch. They can't mess with us and expect any mercy from us!" Cassidy said, taking out three Pokéballs as well. "Raticate! Golbat! Houndour! Go!"
"Drowzee! Primeape! Hitmontop! Go!" Butch called out. Six Team Rocket Pokémon had just emerged from their Pokéballs and are ready to battle their opponents. "Raticate! Crunch! Golbat! Poison Fang! Houndour! Fire Fang!"
"Drowzee! Headbutt! Primeape! Power-Up Punch! Hitmontop! Triple Kick!" Butch ordered. The Team Rocket Pokémon went to attack the opposing Pokémon, but Seviper struck Houndour with Poison Tail as Arbok wraps his body around Raticate, making him unable to land a bite. Dustox fires Poison Sting onto Golbat like a machine gun. Victreebel smacks Primape with Vine Whip as Cacnea lands a hit on the pig monkey Pokémon with Needle Arm. Weezing lands Double Hit onto Drowzee and Hitmontop. The battle goes on until the opposing Pokémon vanishes into the smoke.
"Don't let them get away!" Cassidy yelled. She and Butch ran after them. When the smoke cleared, they saw all of the Pokémon they stole were all gone. "No! All of our hard work! Ruined!" Sirens can be heard from the outside.
"The police!" Butch exclaimed.
"Let's make like those Pokémon and vanish too," Cassidy said. THey went to the back door and run out before the police could bust through.
"Police!" A police officer shouted. He looked around and saw nothing, but the damage left in the battle. "Definitely a struggle." He noticed an Team Rocket emblem on the ground and knew it was a Team Rocket operation. "Those bastards aren't going to get away forever."
Once Butch and Cassidy were far enough, they made contact with HQ again and they see Giovanni on the screen.
"Sir, we have a problem," Cassidy said.
"What happened?" Giovanni asked.
Our operation was foiled before we could make the deliever to you. In the scuffule, all of the Pokémon we had stoelen had been set free and we escaped before the police could arrest us," Cassidy said.
"We don't know what just happened and how it got out," Butch said. Giovanni was displeased that the fortune teller scheme had failed.
"Return to base at once. You'll have your chance the next time," Giovanni said. Cassidy and Butch obeyed and started to make their way back. Giovanni slams his fist on his desk. "Dammit! Even my best agents had failed! No doubt it was thanks to the leak." Just then, a beeping sound goes off and he presses the button on his desk as the screens activate, but the identies are still hidden from him. Giovanni notices four new ones with them.
"Giovanni. It would seem that you are having some slight trouble," Ganondorf guessed.
"You have caught me at a busy time. Whatever it is, can you make it quick?" Giovanni asked.
"We're only checking up on your end of the bargain. Surely you haven't forgotten," Dr. Eggman said.
"The project is progressing at a slow pace! Once it is ready, then you shall have what you desire!" Giovanni said.
"Just don't take so long, because we don't like being disappointed," Sigma said.
"I know I don't," Ripto said.
"It shall be done! It won't be if you keep getting on my case!" Giovanni said.
"Then, by all means, we shall let you return to your project. We shall contact you again with the second Chaos Emerald at hand. Until then, there will be no more communications," Ganondorf said.
"Understood," Giovanni said. Ganondorf and the other villains breaks contact as Giovanni looks at the red Chaos Emerald on the table not too far from him. "The Chaos Emeralds they speak of does have a spark of potential within them, but for my project to be comopleted, I only need some Pokémon to make it even more effective. Perhaps the legendary bird Pokémon, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres shall sevice."
Back in Hoenn, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth all venture even further in the frozen city and looked at the icicles coming up from the ground.
"Just looking at those icicles, I know we're getting closer to what I think we're gonna be seeing," Meowth said.
"I think you're right. Not only those look stronger, but it's getting colder the further we go," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said, shivering.
"Vee," Angel said.
"And that's where we'll find Regice," Kairi said.
"Hoping Regice will stay asleep unlike Regirock and Registeel," Sora said.
"Pi," Pikachu agreed.
So, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth went further down to find Regice and found it got even colder and colder the further they went. Outside the ancient city, Team Chaotix had caught up by tracking their tracks in the snow.
"These look fresh enough. They definitely went in there," Vector said.
"Just what is it?" Charmy asked.
"It looks like an ancient city. I doubt anyone has been in there for who knows how long," Espio said.
"Whoa," Charmy said in awe. "So, now what?"
"We go in. While we're following them, we could learn about the ancient civilizations of this world while we're at it," Vector stated. With that said, Team Chaotix entered the ancient city to look around. "Kinda reminds me of the ones the echidnas has."
"Yeah, only without the Master Emerald or the Chaos Emeralds for that matter," Charmy said.
"Or Chaos itself," Espio added.
"Also, it's on an island, but no snow," Charmy said. Team Chaotix looked around and saw some ancient murals of Regice. "Wow, what is that?"
"It could be one of Pokémon, only made of ice. It would seem there some that can be viewed as gods," Vector said.
"Or possibly demons," Espio stated.
"You think they could be here to catch it just like that spiky-haired kid caught that cactus thing?" Charmy asked.
"Most likely. Now to get back to work. Their footprints are going in this direction," Vector said as he and his teammates follow. As they followed further, they ended up shivering and icicles drips from the crocodile's nose. "Brr, if I knew it was gonna be this cold, I would have brought an extra jacket with me."
"It's colder than a polar bear's toenails," Charmy said.
"Perhaps what they seek is further in this direction," Espio said. They kept following the trail right up to the couple and the Pokémon.
Speaking of which, they finally reached the end of the temple and found the iceberg Pokémon itself.
"Regice," Kairi said.
"Looks happy sleeping there. Can't say I like feeling like an ice cube," Meowth said.
"Like I said, just as long Regice stays asleep, we'll be okay," Sora said.
Team Chaotix finally caught up with them and stopped when they saw Regice with their own eyes.
"It's that thing from before," Charmy said.
"It sure is. It matches that mural perfectly," Espio said.
"It's sleeping soundly. And it doesn't look like it'll be that easy to wake it," Vector said.
"Just how do you think it might wake up?" Charmy asked.
"I dunno. As long we don't try any funny stuff, then we'll be sitting pretty," Vector said.
Over in Wumpa Island, Pit, Shantae, Crash, Coco, Sky, Bolo, Rottytops, and Aku Aku made it to Castle Cortex and got to work on a dimensional doorway. Along the way, Crash and Coco shared some stories about their past experiences against Dr. Cortex and Uka Uka.
"Okay, just how many times did you beat that guy?" Shantae asked.
"Three," Coco answered.
"Really? Just three?" Shantae asked.
"Yup," Coco answered as Crash nodded.
"It seems like more," Shantae said.
"And judging on how you told us about him, it sounds like he has an ego bigger than his head," Pit said.
"Risky's ego wasn't that big at least," Bolo said.
"But this Uka Uka sounds like a much bigger deal. Hard to believe that he's your twin brother, Aku Aku," Sky said.
"I know. I had to seal him away from his evil, but since the Cortex Vortex had fallen from space and into the temple where I had imprisoned him, he had returned. Fortunately, we had sent him back in the past before he could obtain the gems and crystals," Aku Aku said.
"And how did you do that?" Shantae asked.
"Time machine," Coco said.
"What's a time machine?" Shantae asked.
"It's a machine that can take you back or forward into time," Coco explained.
"Wow! Seriously?! We should try some time traveling!" Shantae said.
"One mission at a time, Shantae!" Sky said. "Remember, we got the faith of all of existence at risk!"
"Right," Shantae said.
"I wouldn't recommend it, anyway. I heard that you can mess up history if you do that," Pit said.
"And we don't want that," Coco said. She connected some wires and cords.
"Just how soon will this thing be ready?" Rottytops asked.
"It might take days or weeks. But I can try what I can to speed it up," Coco said.
"Do what you can, Coco. I can only pray we won't be too late," Aku Aku said.
Back in Dream Land, Kirby, Meta Knight, and Bandana Dee tried to find a clue to King Dedede's whereabouts, but somehow they had no luck.
"Where could he be? He could be anywhere by now," Bandana Dee said.
"We mustn't give up. There has to be somewhere we haven't tried yet," Meta Knight said.
"Poyo," Kirby said.
"Easy for you to say. We could search the whole planet and won't come close. It's not like something unexpected is just gonna happen," Bandana Dee said. A dimensional rift opens and sucks in Kirby, Meta Knight, and Bandana Dee inside it. The rift closes as they hurl throughout the dimensional space. They came out from another dimensional rift as they landed in a forest of sort. The people all had pointed ears as they were elves. They all look around saw their current surroundings. "If I had a big mouth, I would like nothing more than to keep it shut."
"Poyo," Kirby chirped.
"Where are we?" Meta Knight asked.
"Poyo," Kirby chirped.
Back at Regice City, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth stares at the sleeping Pokémon as Team Chaotix watches them from a distance.
"It looks like the thing from the pictures," Charmy said.
"That's exactly what it is. Or it could be a statue," Vector said.
"What are they waiting for?" Espio asked.
"Not a clue," Vector said. Just then, a dimensional rift opens and a bolt of lightning emerged from it much to Team Chaotix's surprise. It struck the sleeping Regice as Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth watch it hit Regice. They weren't sure what is happening. The bolt of lightning ceases and the dimensional rift closes. Regice then awakens in a hostile mood.
"Uh-oh," Sora and Vector said at once. Team Chaotix knew they were no match for Regice and ran for their lives.
"Sora, what just happen?" Kairi asked.
"No idea, but I have a feeling that it won't be pretty," Sora said. Regice began by firing Ice Beam at the couple and Pokémon, making them duck before the attack could hit.
"That was close," Meowth said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Vee," Angel said.
Regice attacked again by firing Zap Cannon, making them run for their lives. Regice begins its pursue of them.
"Man, what's the deal?! We didn't even do anything and now it's awake!" Sora exclaimed.
"Didn't I mention that I'd be in a bad mood too if I was woken up for no reason?" Meowth asked.
"You did!" Sora and Kairi both answered.
"Just checking!" Meowth said.
Regice fires Hyper Beam at them, striking the ground. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth go flying further out of in the city. Sora and Kairi realized they weren't gonna outrun the iceberg Pokémon, so they had no other option.
"We're going have to batte Regice and bring it down," Sora said.
"You're right, Sora. But we shouldn't expect to win against it since Regice is so powerful," Kairi said.
"I know, but we gotta try," Sora said. He knew that most of his team are Grass Type Pokémon and they may not last long due to their weakness to ice, but Breloom has an edge since being a Fighting Type. He knew Breloom alone won't be enough, so he has the others as back up. He threw them. "Sceptile! Ludicolo! Shiftry! Breloom! Cacnea! Go!" His Grass Type Pokémon emerge from inside and ready to go. Kairi took out her Pokéballs and threw them.
"Plusle! Minun! Roserade! Delcatty! Corsola! Go!" Kairi called out. Her Pokémon joined in with Sora's Pokémon, ready to battle as well. Pikachu and Angel joins in to battle as well, leaving Meowth the only one to sit on the bench.
"Don't mind me, guys. I'm just gonna root for the best!" Meowth said.
"Pikachu! Iron Tail! Sceptile! Leaf Blade! Shiftry! Seed Bomb! Ludicolo! Razor Leaf! Breloom! Mach Punch! Cacnea! Needle Arm!" Sora ordered.
"Angel! Swift! Plusle! Minun! Delcatty! Thunderbolt! Roserade! Magical Leaf! Corsola! Power Gem!" Kairi ordered.
The couple's Pokémon launched their assault on the iceberg Pokémon. Pikachu started up by swinging his tail on Regice as Breloom lands a Mach Punch as Shiftry fires Seed Bomb and Ludicolo struck with Razor Leaf. Sceptile came in with Leaf Blade and Cacnea lands a Needle Arm onto Regice.
Plusle, Minun, and Delcatty fired Thunderbolt as Angel fires Swift. Roserade sends out Magical Leaf and Corsola sends out Power Gem to strike the iceberg Pokémon. The combined attacks all hurt Regice, but it wasn't enough to bring Regice down.
"It's still standing?!" Sora exclaimed.
"Even our combined force couldn't bring it down!" Kairi gasped. Regice fires Ice Beam again and freezes Sora's and Kairi's Pokémon, all but Pikachu and Angel whom used their speed to avoid it. "Angel!"
"Pikachu! That was a close shave!" Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Ee," Angel said.
"Glad to see them safe and sound, but they won't be for long," Meowth said. Sora and Kairi knew an emitted attack to come, but they had some unexpected help.
"Dusknoir! Fire Punch!" A familiar voice called out. A Dusknoir lands a fiery punch onto the iceberg Pokémon. The couple and Pokémon all turned to see it was Riku and Naminé who came to save the day.
"Riku!" Sora said happily.
"Naminé!" Kairi added.
"Hey Sora! I would ask how you're doing, but that's gonna have to wait!" Riku stated. Team Chaotix watches the scene from their hiding spot.
"Who are they?" Espio asked.
"An acquaintance maybe?" Vector guessed.
"He has that fox little thing just like the girl does," Charmy said.
"Those must be very popular to have," Vector said.
"How did you find us?" Kairi asked.
"We can get to that later. Right now, we have to calm that thing down," Riku said.
"Right," Sora said.
"And we'll need some insurance," Riku said, taking out a Pokéball. "Shedinja! Go!" He threw it as his Shedinja came out.
"Wonder Guard! Good thinking!" Sora said. Regice fires Ice Beam as Shedinja goes in front of the beam of ice and takes the hit. Due to Wonder Guard, the effect is negated.
"Good Shedinja! Now use Shadow Claw!" Riku ordered. Shedinja heads for Regice and swipes a shadowy claw at it. Riku turned to Sora. "I have an idea, Sora. I'm gonna need your help."
"Yeah? How?" Sora asked.
"Pikachu, Eevee, and Angel can run circles around Regice. And when Regice fires an attack, Shedinja can fly in front of the attack and take it to protect them," Riku said.
"That's a good idea, Riku. I like it!" Sora said.
"What if Regice knows an attack to take Shedinja down?" Kairi asked.
"That's why I have Dusknoir. Ready?" Riku asked. The couple nodded confirming that they are.
"At least it's not me out there," Meowth said.
"Eevee, Ee, Eevee!" Eevee said.
"Pika," Pikachu nodded.
"Eevee," Angel agreed.
"Quick Attack!" Sora, Kairi, and Riku ordered.
Pikachu and the two Eevee ran around to get Regice's attention. Regice fires Zap Cannon only for Shedinja to take the hit.
"Eevee! Shadow Ball!" Riku ordered. Eevee fires Shadow Ball and struck Regice on the mark.
"Angel! Swift!" Kairi ordered. Angel fires Swift and it the stars all struck Regice hard. Regice responds with Ice Beam and Shedinja takes the hit. Sora took advantage of Regice's distraction and decided to move in.
"Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu fires Thunderbolt and shocks Regice hard.
"Dusknoir! Use Shadow Sneak!" Riku ordered. Dusknoir disappeared into a shadowy vortex.
"Pikachu! Electro Ball!" Sora ordered. Pikachu forms a ball of electricity and hurls it right at Regice. It struck, but it wasn't enough to bring it down. Dusknoir reappears and lands a punch onto Regice.
"Let's combine our attacks and see if that works!" Sora suggested.
"Good idea. We can do that by working together," Riku said. "Kairi, how about you start us up?"
"Right," Kairi said. "Angel! Use Swift!"
"Eevee! You use Swift too!" Riku ordered.
"Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered.
The three Pokémon all fired their combined attack. Regice fires Ice Beam, but it gets cut and it struck the iceberg Pokémon and brought it down. Team Chaotix waited to see if either one of them was gonna catch it. Regice stood up, weakly, and heads back to where it was sleeping to sleep some more.
"What was that all about?" Riku asked.
"I don't have the slightest idea, Riku. We were just looking at Regice, sleeping soundly, but then it just woke up and attacked us after being struck by some lightning. Anyway, how did you find us?" Sora asked.
"We ran into a man who said he saw you and he said you were heading this way. We saw this place and we figured you would be in here and we were right," Naminé said. Sora and Kairi had to figure it was Michel who told them about them and the Snorunt poachers.
"Thanks for the help, Riku," Sora said.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said.
"Anytime," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
Calling back their Pokémon to rest, they left the ancient city, leaving it as it is and not wanting to risk Regice waking up again. They couldn't help but wonder where that bolt of lightning came from in the first place. Team Chaotix proceeded to follow them to Sootopolis City. As they left, they bumped into Tai, Kari, Matt, TK, Sara, Izzy, Mimi, Joe, Davis, Ken, Yolei, Cody, and Amy again.
"Hey there, Ketchum. Did you see Regice?" Tai asked.
"We did," Sora said. "And you don't wanna go there."
They explained that a bolt of lightning struck Regice and it attacked them, but they shared what they saw before that. Izzy was astounded by what the couple had found. They weren't surprised to see Riku with them. After making their way off the mountain, the group ditched their coats and went to the Pokémon Center to rest up.
Back in Team Rocket HQ, Genghis and Kahnnie try to learn what they can about their boss's mysterious new partners, but so far they didn't find a single clue.
"Once again, we come out empty," Kahnnie said.
"Whoever they are, they're smart enough not to leave their files laying around," Genghis said. Just then, Cassidy and Butch came back, both in sour moods. Genghis and Kahnnie acted like nothing was wrong. "So, how'd it go?"
"None of your business!" Cassidy hissed.
"Just asking," Kahnnie said.
Cassidy and Butch headed for their boss's office and entered.
"Our Pokémon fotune teller plan had failed as I understand. What happened?" Giovanni asked.
"We don't know. We had everything under control one minute, and then the next, that control is lost," Cassidy said.
"We got out as soon as the cops started to show up. Nobody but us knew about it," Butch said.
"Someone did. In recent days, we have suffered huge losses of our members and they are facing jail time. You're going have to try even harder from now on. You're going have to be extra sneaky," Giovanni said.
"Yes sir," Butch said.
"And we will see to it that our next operation is a huge success," Cassidy said.
"For your sakes, I hope so. We cannot afford anymore failures on our part. Clamp down harder if you must!" Giovanni declared.
"Yes sir," Cassidy and Butch both said, taking their leave. As soon as they have left, Giovanni had his suspicions. He had his doubts about Cassidy and Butch being a possible leak, but he had to make certain since all the active members are all suspects.
"Apparently, I also must clamp down hard as well. If I am to expose the traitors, I must be even smarter," Giovanni said. Persian purs in agreement as the Team Rocket Boss began to go through all the active members. Little did he realize, Genghis and Kahnnie were listening on their conversation. "Yeah. We can't afford a single mishap. Team Rocket would never suspect them being brought down from inside," Genghis said.
"Right. I just got word about a Pokémon Center take over plan already in progress. Location: Cinnabar Island," Kahnnie said.
"You go, girl! Let's hand this off to Jessie and James right away," Genghis said. He makes contact with Jessie and James.
"What do you have for us?" James asked.
"There's a Pokémon Center take over plan in progress. It's taking place on Cinnabar Island," Genghis reported.
"On our way there," Jessie said, cutting off the transmission.
"And now, we wait for the results," Genghis said.
With that done, Team Anti-Rocket had not only foiled a Team Rocket plan, but they plan ahead to foil them.
Several police stations in Kanto had several members of Team Rocket in custody. Many of them were taken into interrogation, but not one of them was going to tell them the location of their base and the identity of their boss.
The International Police were even on the case. Officer Jenny and Looker were going the Team Rocket stings.
"This is very odd," Looker said, stroking his chin.
"What?" Officer Jenny asked.
"It's like this. Each and every one of these operations had been foiled and so far, the police responds faster than a Rapidash on steroids," Looker stated.
"And that's a bad thing?" Officer Jenny asked.
"Not saying that. I just a coincidence at first, but they are happening more frequently in recent days. It's like we know their next move before we do," Looker said.
"It's been like this ever since Team Magma and Team Aqua disbanded. I asked one of my relatives all over and so far, they don't know the identity of the tipsters," Officer Jenny said.
"Anything else?" Looker asked.
"Yes. I got word from one of my cousins that their leader has been doing business with some new partners. I suspect it to be Team Galactic in Sinnoh, Team Plasma in Unova, and Team Flare in Kalos," Officer Jenny said. "The Team Rocket members in our custody said they are helping their leader with some sort of project." Looker gave her a grave look, knowing it was getting even deeper.
"If they are somehow involved then we must double our efforts to put these criminals away for good," Looker said.
"Right," Officer Jenny said. Looker can only grit his teeth.
"Team Rocket, what are you plotting? And who are you working with?" Looker asked in his thoughts.
Back in Hoenn, Sora and Kairi had all their Pokémon healed up and decided to rest for the night. As soon as morning hits, they first thing they'll be doing is head to the port to reach Sootopolis City for Sora's final Gym battle.
