Episode 272: Mean With Envy
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel and Meowth are having some dinner in the messhall as Team Chaotix are having a pizza from somewhere. Kairi decided to make a phone call back home. She dialed the number and her father answered the phone.
"Hello?" Yuta answered.
"Hi dad. It's me," Kairi said. The picture came on.
"Kairi, sweetie! Hello! It's always good to see you! How are you?" Yuta asked.
"I'm doing great, dad. Are mom and grandma home?" Kairi asked.
"No. Your mom is just next door with Delia. And your grandmother is over at a friend's poetry party and she invited Professor Oak over. You know how he is with Pokémon poetry," Yuta said. "Anyway, where are you?"
"Sora and I are in Pacifidlog Town. Sora got asked to be a judge in the contest," Kairi said.
"Is that so? I have to say that your mother, grandmother, and I are so very proud of you. After all, you did earn five ribbons to enter the Grand Festival," Yuta said.
"I sure did, dad. And it's just before the Hoenn Pokémon League. I'm hoping you, mom, and grandma will be there?" Kairi asked.
"Wouldn't miss it for anything. In fact, your mother invited your boyfriend's cousin and his two friends over to the Grand Festival, I hope it's okay, dear?" Yuta asked.
"I don't mind. To tell the truth, I actually love the kid," Kairi said. She always smiled thinking about Ventus and seeing how Sora is so good to him.
"I'm glad. And we'll be bringing those two Pichu too. They miss Pikachu like crazy," Yuta said.
"And I know Pikachu is missing them too," Kairi said.
"Anyway, I should be going. I got something planned for your mother. I'll tell her that you called and that you send your love," Yuta said.
"Thanks. I appreciate it. Love you, dad," Kairi said.
"Love you too, sweetheart," Yuta said, hanging up. Meowth was listening on the phone call and he felt nervous.
"Oh no, if Kairi's folks comes here, they are bound to recognize me. And give me a real sling," Meowth said with a hint of fright. He didn't want to think about what would happen if he saw them again, but not only that, but Ventus and his friends too. Kairi turned to see Meowth getting scared.
"Meowth? What's wrong?" Kairi asked.
"You sure having your folks and Sora's cousin and two friends coming to the Grand Festival a good idea?" Meowth asked.
"Of course. Why wouldn't it be?" Kairi asked.
"Well, for one thing, we didn't get off on the right foot when we met," Meowth hinted to his past. Kairi knew what he meant.
"Oh, that. You don't have to worry, Meowth. I'm sure they'll forgive you. Sora and I already have, when they helped with Team Magma and Team Aqua," Kairi said.
"What if they won't?" Meowth asked.
"They will. I promise, Sora and I will be with you all the way," Kairi reassured him Meowth smiled at the thought. "But you're gonna have to win them over yourself. That means, you're going have to be on your best behavior."
"I'll try, but don't blame me if it doesn't work out," Meowth said. "Now, I think someone owes me a little rubbing." Kairi giggled as she picked up the scratch cat Pokémon.
"All you had to do was ask," Kairi said, petting Meowth on the back.
"That's the stuff," Meowth said, before he started purring.
"Now come on, Meowth. Sora is waiting for us," Kairi said.
Over in the Mushroom Kingdom, Yoshi followed the Koopalings over to the castle.
"Oh no! I knew it! Better get Mario! Let him know about this!" Yoshi ran off to get him. The Koopalings had arrived at the castle to capture Princess Peach for Bowser. THey hid when they saw Spyro walking down the hallway with Elora.
"Is that the dragon that Bowser Jr. mentioned?" Roy asked.
"There's no mistaking it. Just look at it," Ludwig said.
"And look at that one wearing a leafy dress. It's so unfashionable," Wendy hissed. The dragon and faun go by them. Sparx flies behind them and sees the Koopalings. Sparx forze and saw them again. Sparx attempted to warn them, but Mroton uses his magic wand to trap Sparx in a crystal ball.
"Morton got a buggy," Morton said.
"Good for you, Morton. Come on, we got to get to the princess before Mario arrives," Larry said.
"Right," the other Koopalings said getting inside the castle.
"Princess Peach was very nice," Elora said.
"She sure was. The meal weas pretty enjoyable. Right Sparx?" Spyro asked, but he got no answer. "Sparx?" He looked around for the dragonfly. "Sparx? Where are you, buddy?"
"Spyro? What's wrong?" Elora asked.
"It's Sparx. He was right here a second ago," Spyro said.
"You think he got lost?" Elora asked.
"I hope not. We should look for him just in case," Spyro said. They look for their missing friend.
Over to Yoshi, he found Mario checking the mail.
"Mario! Mario!" Yoshi shouted as he reached the red-clad plumber just in time. Before he could ask what was wrong, Yoshi spoke for him. "We got a problem! Koopalings at the castle! Koopalings at the castle!"
"Mama mia! Bowser is-a at it again! Better put a stop-a to this!" Mario said. He jumped onto Yoshi's back and rode to get to her before it was too late.
Meanwhile, two individuals, both a similar clothing as Mario and Luigi, but one is fat and is wearing a yellow shirt and purple overalls. He wore green pointed shoes and has a zigzag mustache. He wore gloves with the letter W on both his hands while he had the W on his cap. He had dull-pointed ears and a big nose. The other is rather tall and slim and also dull-pointed ears, as he wore a purple shirt and hat. He wore dark indigo overalls and had the same shoes on as the first one. On his hat he had the letter L, but it's upside-down and had those on his gloves.
"I tell you, Wario. When we do see those Mario brothers again, we'll roll them out of town," the thin man said.
"I know how you feel, Waluigi. They're always beating us in every chance they get. Either they're just too good, or we're not cheating hard enough," Wario said.
"Oh, I would like to rub those two out," Waluigi said. A dimensional rift opens in front of them and they both get sucked in. "Wah!"
"Whoa!" Wario screamed.
The rift opens and they both fell in he middle of Pacifidlog Town streets.
"What the?! Where the heck are we?!" Waluigi exclaimed.
"Not sure, Waluigi, but whoever thought of this is in big, big, big trouble when we get done with them," Wario hissed.
Over to Team Choatix, they waited for their pizza to arrive. The pizza delievery boy brings it to their current location.
"Here it is. Where could those guys be?" THe delivery boy asked.
"Right here," Vector said, showing himself in his disguise. "I have the money right here." Vector paid for the pizza as the delievery boy took the money. "Thank you and have a good day." The delivery boy looked back and huffed.
"What a weirdo," the delievery boy said. Vector opened the box and saw that it had everything they ordered on it. Pepperoni, sasuasge, canadian bacon, mushrooms, salami, onions, green peppers, and extra cheese.
"Take it in, boys," Vector said before taking a slice. Team Chaotix enjoyed the pizza much to their content.
"This is great," Charmy said.
"Although, Kairi's cooking is better, this is excellent," Espio said.
"I'll say. We should meet up with them as soon as we're done eating. We shouldn't be out here too long otherwise someone would see us," Charmy said.
"But it's such a nice night. I can imagine how the lovebirds would like a starry night like this. It brings out a romantic atmosphere," Vector said.
"It sure does," Espio agreed.
Back to the Pokémon Center, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth are sleeping soundly as Sora and Kairi are gazing at the night sky.
"It's very pretty, isn't it?" Kairi asked her boyfriend.
"Yeah, but not as pretty as you are, Kairi," Sora said. She turned to him with an affectionate smile.
"You're so sweet, Sora," Kairi said.
"I'm only saying it because I mean it," Sora said. He wraps his arms around his girlfriend. "You're the best thing to ever to come into my life, Kairi."
"Sora," Kairi said in a loving tone before the couple kisses each other on the lips. Kairi moves her hands onto the back of Sora's head as they were now lost in their kiss. Team Choatix came in and take off their disguises and sees them kissing. Charmy blushes as he hides behind Vector. The couple stops kissing as they saw the detective team standing there.
"Been there, long?" Sora asked.
"No. Not really," Charmy said.
"If Amy were here, she would be swoon at the sight," Vector said. Sora and Kairi blushed as they kept holding each other.
"But don't mind us. We'll just get some shuteye. And Sora, don't forget that you have to meet with the other judges tomorrow," Vector reminded him.
"Don't worry, I haven't forgotten. Vivian said she was going to meet up with me along with Contesta and Suziko around noon. Speraking of which, we should meet up with Brendan, May, and Max before I get to that," Sora said. Everyone all set up for bed to get an early start.
In the same jungle as the Kongs, a female kong comes running through the jungle. She has long blonde hair and is wearing a pink beret and a pink short tank top. She has her bangs curled and has olive green eyes. She reaches a treehouse and knocked on the door repeatability. Inside it, an ape with a poiting hairstyle and wearing a red tie that has DK on it. With him is a monkey wearing a red hat and shirt with gold stars on it and a red cap that reads "Nintendo" on it. THe monkey got up and answered the door to find the female standing out in front.
"Hey Dixie. Nice of you to make a house call, but it's kinda early for it, don't you think?" The monkey asked.
"Diddy, I was wondering if you seen Tiny by any chance?" Dixie asked.
"No. Thought she was with you," Diddy said.
"She's not and I can't find her. I tried Candy, Funky, Swanky, and Cranky, but none of them has seen them," Dixie said.
"Have you tried Chunky or Lanky's homes?" Diddy asked.
"I did, but they haven't been answering their doors. And I'm worried," Dixie said.
"Okay, I'll help you look for them," Diddy said. "But I'll leave a note for Donkey Kong first." Diddy left a note on the door. The two Kongs left to find Dixie's missing sister as the ape sleeps undisturbed.
"Hm. Oh yeah. Keep those bananas coming," the ape saidwith his lips smacking. He rolls over in his sleep before he woke up. "Diddy, I just had the most wonderful dream. The whole world had bananas everywhere." He hears no resonse. "Diddy?" He looked around for Diddy and saw the note and read it. "Dear Donkey Kong. Left with Dixie to find Tiny and the others who has gone missing. Meet up with us later. Diddy." He threw the note on the floor. "If I didn't know better, I could swear he was just using it as an excuse to date Dixie. Better go keep an eye on those two all the same." Donkey Kong left to find the two smaller Kongs.
Back on Pacifidlog Town, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and Team Choatix went to meet up with Brendan, May, and Max on the beach. Team Choatix wore their disguises.
"Where could they be?" Kairi asked.
"They said they were gonna meet up with us here," Sora said.
"Sora! Kairi!" A familiar voice shouted. The couple and the Pokémon saw who they were waiting for and they ran up to them. Team Chaotix waved to them. "Vector, Charmy, Espio? Is that you?"
"Yes, it's us," Espio said.
"What's with the disguises?" Max asked.
"We need them to keep from being noticed," Charmy said.
"So, we wouldn't freak out the locals while we're dressed up," Vector said.
"I can understand. Anyone would freak out with three talking animals walking around," Brendan said.
"Aren't you supposed to meet up with the other judges, Sora?" May asked.
"Just in a couple of hours. Until then, I thought I watch you practice before that," Sora said.
"I appreciate it," May said. She took out her Pokéballs and threw them to let out Combusken, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Beautifly, and Skitty. "Okay, let's get started. Bulbasaur! use Petal Dance!" Bulbasaur unleashes Petal Dance from her bulb. "Beautifly! Silver Wind!" Beautifly flapped her wings and unleashes Silver Wind. "Squirtle! Water Gun!" Squirtle fires Water Gun right into the air. "Fire Spin, Combusken!" Combusken unleashes Fire Spin right into the air. "Okay Skitty, it's your turn now. Blizzard!" She noticed that her Skitty isn't around and saw her entranced by an Aipom's tail.
"How about a little PokéBlock, Aipom?" A male Coordinator asked. Slitty go all giddy and wagged her tail in rhythm as Mat grabbed the kitten Pokémon.
"Not now, Skitty. You can play all you want after the contest is over, okay?" May sternly asked. Skitty pouted a bit. Wario and Waluigi poked their heads out of the nearby bushes and saw what was going on.
"What is going on here?" Wario asked.
"Must be for some kind of show or something," Waluigi said.
"A circus act, maybe?" Wario asked. "I see lots of animals, but where are the clowns?" Wario and Waluigi both laughed. Wario's stomach starts building up and he let out a huge and loud fart. Everyone around it caught a whiff.
Sora coughs, "Whoo! What is that funky smell?!" He holds his nose to keep out the foul smell.
"Smells like a vulture's rump fell off and then got sprayed on by a buch of skunks!" Charmy exclaimed.
"I can't breathe!" Brendan yelled.
Many of the Coordinators were repulsed by the smell. An Aipom ran off to escape from the smell.
"Hey! Wait, Aipom!" A male Coordinator shouted. Skitty looked at Aipom's tail once again and got all excited. She started to chase after the squirrel monkey Pokémon.
"No, Skitty!" May shouted, holding her nose.
"Aipom! Come back!" The Coordinator shouted. Aipom ran off through the bushes and ran one way. "Stop right there, Aipom!" Skitty went into an opposite direction with May running after her.
"Skitty, come back!" May shouted, letting go of her nose. "So glad to get away from the smell. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Team Choatix Brendan, Max, and May's other Pokémon managed to get away from the foul odor.
"So glad to get away from that," Sora panted, breathing in the clean air.
"What could have happened?" Kairi asked.
"You didn't eat anything that disagreed with you by any chance, Vector?" Espio asked.
"Not a chance. I know I get gas, but I don't get gas that bad. It had to come from somehwere else," Vector said.
Back to Wario and Waluigi, Waluigi holds his nose in disgust.
"You had that peanut butter and garlic sandwich again, didn't you?" Waluigi asked.
"Just love the stuff," Wario said. He took out a piece of garlic and chewed it up. "Yum." Wario lets out a light fart.
"Isn't there anything you eat that doesn't give you gas?" Waluigi questioned. Wario just shrugged while giving his toothy grin.
Back to Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Team Choatix, Brendan, Max, and May's Pokémon, they noticed that May and Skitty are missing.
"Hey, where are May and Skitty?" Max asked.
"May must have gone after Skitty. I'll tell you, even Kairi's Skitty wasn't this energized and she was energized," Sora said.
"May will find her. No problem," Brendan said.
"She sure will," Kairi said. She turned to Sora. "I think you should go and get set for your judging duties, Sora."
"Right. Vivian and the other two judges are going to meet me at the Pokémon Center, so I think I'll get washed up before they get there," Sora said. "See ya later!" Sora ran off to make the preparations.
Over to May, she looks for her Skitty after she lost track of the kitten Pokémon. She walks by a series of houses facing the beach.
"Wonder where Skitty could've gone," May said with worry. May heard SKitty's playful sound and followed it to the backyard. "Skitty! "There you are!" May was briefly mad at Skitty for running off, but she found that she was playing with a boy around May's age. He had green hair and blue eyes. He wore an orange shirt under a red and white jacket. He wore tannish brown shoes and a tannish gray pair of pants. Slitty happily ran up to Skitty and her anger disappeared. "Skitty, you know better than to go on your own like that."
"Hi there. If I had to guess, I'd say Skitty is your Pokémon?" The boy asked.
"Yeah. My name's May," May introduced herself.
"Hey, there. I'm Joshua, a Pokémon Coordinator from right here in Pacifidlog Town," Joshua introduced.
"Wow. Then, I guess you'll be in the contest, won't you?" May asked.
Not too far, a girl that is just around the age of May and Joshua, comes walking from the beach. She wore a lime green vest over a black shirt. She wore black leggings and brown boots. He had mahogany hair and wore an orange bandana in her hair, and she has blue eyes. She stopped in place when she saw May and Joshua sitting on the porch and talking.
"Oh no. Joshua?" The girl asked. "So, who's the new girlfriend you're chatting with?" She was beginning to get jealous.
"That's great! You're gonna enter the Pacifidlog Contest too, huh?" Joshua asked.
"Yeah, and if I can win this one it'll be my fifth Contest Ribbon," May said.
"Really, I'm sure you know you're not the only one who wants to win the Pacifidlog Ribbon," Joshua reminded her.
"Of course, I do, I'll do my best and may the best trainer win," May said.
"Right, so are you going to be using your Skitty in the Contest, May?" Joshua asked. May looked at her Skitty.
"Uh, you know, I haven't decided," May said. Joshua looked right at the kitten Pokémon.
"It looks like you've raised your it really you're cute," Joshua complimented Skitty. The girl growled when she thought he was talking about May.
"Well, isn't that sweet?" The girl hissed. Joshua flinched and May was confused.
"Erika!" Joshua exlcaimed.
"Erika?" May asked. She got right into May's face, making her nervous.
"Mmm-hmm. Well, okay, Joshua, I guess if you have to go around calling other girls cute, then I'm not going to stop you," Erika said with jealousy. "But I'm way cuter than her."
"Wait, you've got it all wrong! I was talking about May's Skitty!" Joshua said. Erika wasn't buying it.
"Really? So, your name's May, is it?" Erika asked.
"Yes, it is," May answered.
"Okay, now I get it," Erika said.
"You do?" May asked. Erika faces Joshua.
"When you said we should train separately, for the last week before the contest, it was just so you could spend time with cute little May, wasn't it?" Erika snarled with jealousy. May was appalled by the accusation.
"What?!" She stood up and Skitty lands on the grass. "That's not true! We've only just met!"
"So, it's love at sight, isn't it?" Erika snarled.
"First sight?!" May exclaimed.
"Sure, Joshua's a very nice guy and first class trainer," Erika said. She points her finger right at her face. "But you stay away! Joshua and I have known each other since childhood. So, of course we were meant for each other. So, we've decided to show our love to the world by winning this Pokémon Contest together, just like Sora and Kairi would have."
"Yeah, like that was ever gonna happen," My deapanned. May hadn't been a Coordinator for long, but even she knew it doesn't work that way.
"Hey, dreams do comes true, right? And for your information, we've been training togethersince we were little children," Erika said, turning to Joshua. "So, anyway, we should go since it's almost time for us to registered."
"Yeah, okay," Joshua said, turning to May. "May, you should come with us." Erika was shocked when he invited May with them.
"Uh! Why? She has nothing to do with us," Erika scoffed.
"She does. May's a Coordinator too, and she's also entering the Pacifilog Contest," Joshua said.
"Well, isn't that nice. Super cool," Erika said, looking at her Skitty making her feel unsure.
"What's wrong, Skitty?" May asked.
"Ha! Guess it knows you'll lose," Erika taunted. "You and your Skitty against me, that is." May glared right at her.
"YEAH?! Is that so?! We'll just see who'll be the loser in this contest, won't we?" May yelled. "Skitty? I'm entering you in this contest!" That got Skitty's fire burning.
"That's nice. Now, how would you like to see my pride and joy, May?" Erika asked, taking out a Pokéball. "Go! Jynx! I chose you!" Erika threw her Pokéball and her Jynx comes out. Erika embraces her Jynx.
"Check out that beautiful hair and those soft eyes and her cute lips. No way a judge will be able to resist falling in love with my Jynxie," Erika said.
"Hey, May!" Brendan called out. Joshua and Erika heard the new voices as he, Max, and her Pokémon come looking for her. "Found you at last."
"In case you didn't know, registration's already started," Max said.
"I know, Max. I was on my way over there right now," May said. She noticed that Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and Team Choatix weren't with them.
"Are those your friends?" Joshua asked.
"Uh-huh. Brendan's a friend of mine from my childhood. And that's Max, my brother. The Combusken, Beautifly, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle are all my other Pokémon," May introduced.
"Hi there," Brendan and Max both said.
"My name's Joshua. Glad to meet you," he introduced. He gestured to Erika. "This is Erika."
"Nice to meet you," Erika greeted.
"We're both entering the Pacifidlog Contest along with May," Joshua said.
"Leave you alone for a little while and we find that you're already made some rivals, huh?" Brendan asked.
"Yeah," May said, blushing when she heard her crush say that. Joshua could tell there was something between the two of them and smiled warmly. Erika sneered, thinking she was crushing on May, when it wasn't what she thought.
Over to Sora, he met up with the other two judges at the Pokémon Center.
"Ah, you must be Sora. I have been looking forward in meeting you for a long time," Mr. Contesta said.
"Actually, I seen you several times, but you hadn't seen me," Sora said, shaking his hand.
"So, you have. Anway, just do your best as a judge and you'll do fine," Mr. Contesta said.
"I'll give it my best shot," Sora said.
The Coordinators all registered for the Contest at the same time as May, Joshua, and Erika. Brendan and Max sat with Kairi, the Pokémon and the disguised Team Choatix.
"Hi guys. Did you find May and her Skitty?" Kairi asked.
"We did," Brendan said.
"And we also met two other Coordinators entering the contest too," Max said.
"It looks like everyone wants to win it that badly," Kairi said. "Especially that it's May's last chance."
"At least Jessie isn't here, because I wouldn't wanna go through with this," Meowth said.
"Pikchu," Pikachu said.
The Contest was about to begin as Vivian had taken the stage and the judges had taken their seats. Outside the contest hall, Wario and Waluigi bares witness to the Contest taking place outside on a giant screen on display.
"Ladies and gentlemen! Your patience has finally paid off. Because your Pacifidlog Pokémon Contest is about to begin!" Vivian announced. The crowd cheers hard "And don't forget, this is the final conest before the Grand Festival. So, expect to see some of the toughest battling you've ever witnessed before! Now, it's time to meet our renowned panel of judges! First we hae Contesta, our Contest Director!"
"How are you?" Contesta greeted.
"Mr. Suziko, President of the Pokémon Fan Club," Vivian announced.
"You're all remarkable!" Mr. Suziko said.
"And finally, we have a very special guest judge. The Pokémon League Champion of Kanto and Johto, Sora Ketchum!" Vivian announced.
"Good to see all of you out here having some fun watching this contest! Just as I'm having fun judging it!" Sora said.
"And now, to begin the first round of judging we'll kick things off with entry number one!So, let's give a big hand to the Jester!" Vivian announced. A small toy car comes driving in as a man dressed in a jesters outfit comes popping out.
"Ta-da!" The Jester said, making his entry. He begins to juggle some balls along a Pokéball in the mix. "Come on out, Mr. Mime!" The Pokéball opens and his Mr. Mime comes out in a similar fashion to the Jester "Time for a little juggling act! Here we go!" The Jester threw all sorts of balls as Mr. Mime uses Psychic to manipulate the balls in the air. There were baseballs, basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, billiard balls, and bowling balls in the mix. Mr. Mime moves its hands around as all the balls are being juggled around.
"My goodness! Mr. Mime is using Psychic to perform a juggling act! That is incredible!" Vivian announced.
"You ain't seen nothing yet! Okay Mr. Mime! Give them a twirl!" The Jester called out. The barrier Pokémon moves its hands around to make the balls float around like they were planets in a solar system.
"What a cosmic display! Wonderfully done by the Jester and his Mr. Mime!" Vivian announced. The judges all give their score. Sora gave him a 9.5 while Contesta gave him a 9.6, and Suziko gave him a 9.5 the same as Sora. That brings his total up to 28.6. "And the toal is 28.6! Let's hear what the judges has to say about that!"
"A very creative use of Psychic," Contesta said.
"Remarkable!" Suziko announced.
"It was like I was watching a sci-fi movie for a moment, but the juggling act right the start is the icing on the cake!" Sora said.
"Sora's a better judge than I thought," Max said.
"No kidding. He's doing just fine," Kairi said.
The contest went on right up to Joshua's turn.
"Now, let's see what does Joshua have in store for his performance, shall we?" Vivian asked. Joshua took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Houndoom!" Joshua called out as his Houndoom took the stage. "Start up with Shadow Ball and then, Swift!" Houndoom fires Shadow Ball first and then Swift fololows as the stars swirls aroound the ball of shadow.
"And what an incredible use of Shadow and Swift!" Vivian announced.
"Using Shadow Ball before Swift is a good start," Contesta said.
"Remarkable!" Suziko said.
"One of the coolest combos I have ever seen," Sora said.
And then it was Erika's turn. She let out her Jynx.
"Jynx! Use Blizzard! And then use Psychic!" Erika ordered. Jynx fired Blizzard first and then uses Psychic to create a snow tornado.
"And it's a great Blizzard Psychic combination! Truly a stellar performane by Erika and Jynx!" Vivian announced. It was now May's turn.
"Skitty! Use Assist!" May ordered. Skitty uses Assist and comes out as Razor Leaf.
"Why did she start with that?" Max asked.
"Looks like she'll have to come up with a good use of Bulbasaur's Razor Leaf," Kairi said.
"Razor Leaf, huh? I got it," May said, coming up with an idea. "Skitty! Use Blizzard and then Double Slap!" Skitty fires Blizzard to freeze the leaves and spins her tail around and smashes the frozen leaves making it sparkle.
"And May fires off a triple combination of Razor Leaf, Blizzard, and Double Slap for a truly impressive performance!" Vivian announced Joshua applauds for May's success. Erika glares at him and he stops. And that ends our first round of judging!"
Sora and the other judges made up their minds on who had won the first round and who will be moving on to the finals.
"You think she made it through?" Meowth asked.
"After that stunt she pulled and everything, I don't doubt it for a second," Vector said.
"Same here. Joshua and Erika are going to be tough to beat, I just know it. Ican tell how good they are after all that training they did. Let's see if May makes it to the final round to get into the Grand Festival," Kairi said.
"Now, it's time to announce the winners of the first round. Because of their astounding performance these four wonderful trainers will go on to round two," Vivian annoounced. "First up is Joshua! Our second Coordinator is the Jester! Our third finalst is Erika! And now to announce the fourth Coordinator." Brendan and Max both crossed their fingers hoping that May will get in. "And the fourth and final Coordinator to move on to the second round of judging in the Pacifidlog Town Pokémon Contest is May!" The crowd cheered as May, Erika, Joshua and the Jester had made it in.
"Way to go, May!" Brendan cheered.
"I knew she get in!" Max cheered.
"Looks like those judges made the right choice to call in Sora as the judge," Espio said.
"Yeah! She'll have to give them a pretty good sting to make it in!" Charmy said.
Wario and Waluigi were watching the whole thing.
"Now that's something," Wario said.
"What's the final round?" Waluigi asked.
"Guess we're gonna have to find out," Wario said.
"And now, for the second round Contest battle pair-ups," Vivian announced as the computer selects the Coordinators put up against each other is Erika versus the Jester, May versus Joshua "Here they are!"
"I'm up against Joshua right from the start?" May questioned.
"Good. Hmph! It'll just be that sooner much sooner that we become the winning couple of my dreams," Erika said. Joshua looked at her and he felt sorry for her becuase he'd have to shatter those dreams, since he knew it won't work out like she planned.
"That's not gonna happen. I'm sorry, Joshua, but I'm going to be beating you in this round," May said, glaring at Erika.
As May prepares to batte Joshua in the second round she's reminded that she's faced with more than one tough rival. Will May prevail by winning her fifth ribbon and gain the privilege to enter the Grand Festival along with Kairi? Stay tuned to find out!
