Episode 274: Less is Morrison
A few days had passed since the Pacifidlog Pokémon Contest. Sora and Kairi had practiced their moves for the Hoenn Pokémon League and the Grand Festival. During the course of the training, Metang, Sealeo, and Shelgon had evolved into a Metagross, a Walrein, and Salamence. Kairi decided to evolve her Snorunt into a Frosslass by using the Dawn Stone she had for a while. She decided to use some of her other Pokémon from home. Kairi turned to her boyfriend.
"Sora, you think you can hand me your Pokédex?" Kairi asked. Sora smiled.
"Not a problem, Kairi," Sora said, handing it over her girlfriend. "What do you have in mind?"
"I was thinking I could use some of the Pokémon I caught in Johto and have them train for the Grand Festival too," Kairi said. Sora liked the idea.
"Good thinking. You have some Pokémon you haven't used yet anyway, so why not?" Sora asked. Kairi exchanged her entire team, except for Angel. She chose Bellsprout, Sentret, Mareep, Baltoy, and Shellder. Sora exchanged Metagross, Salamence, Walrein and Glalie for Blaziken, Swampert, Lairon and Vibrava. Meowth and Team Chaotix were finished gathering up some fire wood for Kairi to make them some lunch.
"Wood's here," Vector said.
"The job would have gone faster if Meowth didn't complain about splinters," Charmy said.
"Splinters aren't a laughing matter! I had one the size of a Venusaur!" Meowth exclaimed.
"It was just a little one, you furry baby! It wasn't going to kill you!" Charmy argued.
"It felt pretty big to me!" Meowth exclaimed.
"And Espio took it out and treated it," Charmy said.
"Charmy's right. It wasn't that big," Espio said.
"Anyway, since we have the wood, think we can ask what do you have in store for lunch?" Vector asked.
"I was going to make us some macaroni and cheese mixed with vegetables and chicken," Kairi replied. Meowth's smacked his lips at the thought of eating her cooking once again. Kairi got started on the meal as Vector shared some stories about how he and the rest of his team had teamed up with an echidna named Knuckles and an armadillo named Mighty when Dr. Eggman tried to obtain six magical rings in an unknown land in a mission for the Freedom Fighters. Sora and Kairi were told about Sonic and wished they met him. Once the meal was done, Sora filled their otherworldly friends a story about their days of traveling with the Alolan nine about how they ended up being involved in a battle with the Shadow Empire along with Pokémon trainers from different dimensions. And about the battles with Ash and Red.
"Did you two ever see Ash again?" Charmy asked.
"No. But we do think about them from time to time. Isn't that right, Kairi?" Sora asked his girlfriend.
"Yes. He and his Misty and Brock are probably still on their adventures of their own," Kairi said.
"Just like you two. You've been at this for a long time," Espio said.
"Yeah," Sora said. He looked up to the sky as the image of Ash formed of his inter dimensional brother. "How are you doing now, Ash?"
Speaking of which, in Ash's world, Ash is traveling with his world's Brock, May, and Max. Ash wore a black and red cap with a green Poké Ball on it, a blue sleeveless hoodie with gold trim and a white hood, a black short sleeve undershirt with a red stripe, black fingerless gloves with light green borders, light blue jeans, and blue sneakers. He looked up in the sky as the image of Sora formed in the sky.
"You still going strong, Sora?" Ash asked.
"Ash?" Brock asked. Ash turned to Brock. The former Pewter City Gym leader wore a brown short-sleeved jacket with orange trim, a green short-sleeved undershirt, grayish-brown cargo pants, and indigo sneakers with light blue trim. "What's up?"
"Nothing. Just thinking," Ash said.
"About Red or Sora?" Brock asked.
"Sora. I mean Red is awesome, but Sora had been on my mind a lot lately," Ash said. Brock chuckled.
"Pikachu," Ash's Pikachu said.
"I know. He, Kairi, and their friends are probably on their own adventures right about now," Brock said.
"Yeah," Ash said. He looked up to the sky and smiled. "Sora."
Back in Sora's earth, Sora kept looking up to the sky.
"Ash," Sora said.
After the meal was over and done with, Sora decided to get some more training done as Kairi decided to get some practice for the Grand Festival.
"Bellsprout! Vine Whip and make it a dance!" Kairi ordered. Bellsprout performed a Vine Whip Dance. "That was great! Sentret! Do an Iron Tail spin!" Sentret jumped by using her large tail as a spring and does a spin in the air. Mareep! Electro Web and follow up with Signal Beam!" Mareep fires Electro Web and then fired Signal Beam into the electrified web, making look like Christmas lights.
"Now that's pretty," Charmy said.
"I'll say," Meowth agreed.
"Shellder! Ice Beam and follow with Aurora Beam! Baltoy! Psybeam while doing Rapid Spin!" Kairi ordered. Shellder fires Ice Beam first and then followed by Aurora Beam. The two beams collides with each other and creates a beautiful aurora. Baltoy performs Rapid Spin and uses Psybeam. "Angel! Swift!" Angel fires Swift and does a while a twirl.
"Sceptile! Dragon Claw! Blaziken! Fire Punch! Swampert! Muddy Water! Vibrava! Dragon Breath! Lairon! Iron Head! Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Sceptile swipes the air with Dragon Claw while Blaziken gave the air some feiry punches. Swampert fires murky water into the air, while Vibrava fires Dragon Breath, Lairon rams his head in a boulder and Pikachu uses Thunderbolt.
"They're doing good," Vector said.
"They should since the Grand Festival is a month away. I don't doubt May is doing the same thing. The cunning warrior must exercise both the body and the mind," Espio said. Espio watched their training with a fire of passion in his eyes.
"I can see how they were able to be ready for us during my Team Rocket days," Meowth said. "I can imagine something unexpected to happen at any moment." Just then, a huge submarine sandwich comes rolling down the hill. Sora catches it in his hands.
"What the? Where did this sandwich come from?" Sora asked.
"Hey!" A new voice yelled. Sora looked up and saw a chubby boy around Sora and Kairi's age come racing down the hill with a dust cloud behind him. He has black eyes, orange messy orange hair tied in a small ponytail. He wore a male kimono with a coral top and red panting. He wore a pair of sandals. "Gimmie back my sandwich right now!"
"Hey! Slow down!" Sora exclaimed. The boy ran face first into a tree. Kairi heard the sound and saw the boy there. "You okay? That's a pretty nasty hit." The boy pulls his face off the tree.
"Sure, never felt better. But I want my sandwich back!" The boy said.
"Here," Sora said, handing it to him.
"Um, thanks," the boy said. He looked right at Sora and gasped. "Hey! Aren't ya Sora Ketchum, the Pokémon trainer who won the Kanto and Johto Pokémon Leagues?"
"Yeah. And you are?" Sora asked.
"Right! The name's Morrison! And I've been training to win first prize at the Hoenn Pokémon League tournament! And I just wanna say, I consider it a privilege to be shaking your hand!" Morrison said, shaking Sora's hand. He eyes Kairi. "Who's she?"
"That's Kairi. My girlfriend," Sora introduced her.
"It's nice to meet you, Morrison," Kairi said.
"Likewise," Morrison said. He notices Team Chaotix sitting there and laughed. "Hey, what's with the costumes? This ain't Halloween." He pulled on Vector's snout and pulled.
"Yeouch!" Vector cried. "Hey! Don't you know it's rude to pull on someone's nose?" Morrison almost jumped out of his skin.
"That's not a costume, is it?" Morrison questioned.
"Don't let them freak you out. They're the real deal," Sora said. "And they're not from around here, if you catch my drift."
"Anyway, I'm Vector the Crocodile," Vector introduced. "And these are my teammates. Espio the Chameleon and Charmy Bee." Espio does his ninja bow as Charmy waved at him.
"Hey there," Charmy said as he buzzed. Morrison was standing there with his mouth hanging open. Sora tapped his shoulder, snapping him out of his shock.
"I know it's weird, but they're pretty nice," Sora said. Morrison looked right at them and tilted his head.
"Are they aliens?" Morrison asked.
"Not the brain-eating kind. They're just from a whole different world," Sora said.
"And they've been with us for a little while," Kairi added.
"Really? I gotta admit, it's pretty cool," Morrison said. "Sorry about the costume crack."
"Don't worry about it, um, Morrison was it?" Vector asked.
"Yeah," Morrison said. He turned over to Sora. "So, Sora. You competing in the Hoenn Pokémon League?"
"Yeah, I am," Sora said.
"And I bet I have more Gym Bagdes than you do," Morrison said.
"How many Badges have you won?" Sora asked.
"So far, I have earned seven! How many do you have?" Morrison asked, expecting him to say that he has less than he does.
"Eight," Sora said, showing Morrison his entire Badge collection. Morrison winced he saw he had all eight of his Gym Badges.
"No way! You won eight Badges already?!" Morrison exclaimed. "Aw man."She
"Don't sweat it. That gives you time to win your eighth badge, that's all," Sora said.
"I don't need that from the likes of you!" Morrison snapped at him. That left Sora confused.
"Hey, I was just being nice!" Sora said.
"I don't need to be patronized by you! I'm going to aim to win it! Come on! Let's have a battle! One-on-one! Just you and me! Come on! Come on!" Morrison challenged.
"Another one calls him out," Meowth said. Morrison got wide-eyed when he heard Meowth talking.
"Hey! A talking Meowth!" Morrison exclaimed. Sora snapped his fingers.
"Battle now, go ga-ga later," Sora said.
"Right," Morrison said. Morrison got into position to battle Sora. "You ready to go, Sora?!"
"When you are, Morrison," Sora said. Morrison took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Beldum!" Morrison shouted and his Beldum came out, floating in the air.
"A Beldum, huh? Looks like you raised it right," Sora complicated.
"Thanks. My Beldum is gonna beat any Pokémon ya got! So bring it on!" Morrison dared his opponent.
"Just be careful what you asked for," Sora said. He looked at Pikachu. "Okay Pikachu. Ready?"
"Pi," Pikachu nodded. Pikachu got into position. Angel cheered for Pikachu for the win. Bellsprout, Mareep, Sentret, Baltoy and Shellder smiled as they also shred their teammate's support for the mouse Pokémon.
"You can make the first move, Morrison!" Sora said.
"You're going to be sorry to give me an edge! Beldum! Take Down!" Morrison ordered. Beldum charges at Pikachu with a great force of its body.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu jumped and dashed as Beldum got close enough to him. "Now use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu fires Thunderbolt right at the iron ball Pokémon and gave it quite a shock.
"It's gonna take more than that to finish me off! Beldum! Take Down again!" Morrison ordered. Beldum charges at Pikachu again.
"Take Down again?" Vector asked.
"Take Down is the only attack can use until it evolves into a Metang," Meowth said.
"And then, into Metagross," Espio said.
"Dodge and use Electro Ball!" Sora ordered. Pikachu forms a ball of electricity and throws it at Beldum. Electro Ball lands a hit. "Now use Thunderbolt!"
"Dodge and use Take Down!" Morrison ordered. Beldum got up and quickly dodges Pikachu's Thunderbolt. Take Down lands a direct hit on the mouse Pokémon. "Finish it with one more Take Down!" Beldum charges in with another Take Down.
"Iron Tail!" Sora ordered. Pikachu swings his tail right at Beldum. The two Pokémon held on as an explosion occured. Pikachu was still standing as Beldum had taken a pretty bad hit. Beldum was down for the count. Pikachu had taken a pretty bad hit from Beldum's Take Down. "Very good, Pikachu."
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said.
"You did awesome, Beldum. That last Take Down was the best one ever," Morrison said. He took out Beldum's Pokéball and calls it back. "Take a good rest." He looked over to Sora. "That was a good match. I can see why you're the champ, but you won't beat me the next time."
"Don't doubt it, Morrison. Just hope you'll be ready within the next two months," Sora said. Morrison winced when he realized the short amount of time he had.
"What?! Just two whole months?! I
d better get moving and win me my eighth badge pretty darn quick!" Morrison exclaimed as he ran off in the opposite direction. "I GOTTA FIND ME A GYM BATTLE!"
"This guy needs to cut back on the sugar," Charmy said.
"No joke," Meowth said.
Over to Wario and Waluigi, they searched the island for some valuables, but so far, they hadn't found anything of value.
"We've been searching on this spit of land for the last couple of days, and so far, we hadn't found a single gold coin," Waluigi said. "Some plan, Wario."
"Shut up and keep looking. Maybe we might get lucky," Wario said. Morrison ran by the two men, dropping his sandwich in the process. Wario takes the sandwich in his hands and swallows it whole. "Not bad. Could use some more mustard." He burps.
Over in Hyrule, Link, Linkle, Zelda, Kirby, Meta Knight, and Bandana Dee had arrived into Ganondorf's palace and explored the palace to see if they could find some clues.
"What kind of clue do you think he could have hidden?" Bandana Dee asked.
"Not sure, but I doubt it's going to be easy," Meta Knight said.
"He's right. Ganondorf might have left some traps behind to keep out any thieves or us out," Linkle said.
"He never could make things easier for anyone. And he is never one who is to take any chance," Zelda said. Link and Kirby searched together and came across a strange room with the door partly opened. Link gently and quietly opened the door, not wanting for anyone or anything to hear them and they saw something particular.
"Everyone, look at this," Link said. He and Kirby went in first. Zelda, Linkle, Meta Knight, and Bandana Dee followed them inside and saw some sort scroll with some strange writing on it.
"Poyo?" Kirby asked.
"What is it?" Linkle asked.
"I don't know. Ganondorf must have been keeping it for quite some time," Zelda said.
"If it's important, then we should just take it with us," Bandana Dee suggested.
"Perhaps, but it could be booby trapped," Linkle said.
"She's right. It might just be too easy," Link said as Kirby touched the scroll with his stubby hand. "Kirby, no!" It was too late. The scroll rolls up and vaniashes. Just then, several winged demons came flying down to launch their attack.
"Vires!" Link and Linkle exclaimed. Link took his long bow as Linkle took her crossbow and fired their arrows at the Vires. Zelda tried firing her arrows of light as Meta Knight readies his sword and Bandana Dee readies his spear. The Vires came swooping down as Kirby had dodged.
"Can't Kirby just change?!" Link exclaimed.
:He has to inhale something!" Bandana Dee said. Link looked at the Waddle Dee.
"What do you mean inhale? In hale what?" Link asked, not understanding.
"Kirby can only transform if he swallows something to give him powers. Just like the arrows and bombs from before!" Bandana Dee explained. He saw some On Vire fires a fireball and Kirby inhales it. Kirby undergoes a transformation. Kirby ends in a headdress and it's on fire. And it has a small twisty gold tiara at the front with a round green gem in the center. "Also, something elemental like fire!" Kirby lets out a feiry breath and it roasts the attacking Vires.
"They're gone now," Linkle said.
"Yeas, but something else will be coming along too soon," Link said.
"We should get going before we find out what could come after us," Bandana Dee said.
"No. Not until we learn what's on that scroll," Meta Knight said.
"I agree. It has something to do with Ganondorf and we're not leaving here until we get it," Zelda said. With that said, the six warriors ventured through the evil castle to get a hold of the scroll. Cia had been watching the scene from the eyes of her birds.
"I knew that the princess of Hyrule would come here. Not only her, but Link as well," Cia said as she lusts over the green-clad hero. "Just keep looking. I'll make sure that your stay is very comfortable." Cia laughs evilly.
In the Kongo Jungle, Diddy and Dixie searh for their missing comrades and so far, they had no luck.
"Can't believe something like this had to happen. Where could they be?" Dixie asked.
"Don't worry, Dixie. I'm sure they're okay. As long as they don't end up being captured by Kremlings again," Diddy said, earning a kick from the female Kong. "Ow! I'm just saying!"
"Well, it's not helping! We should keep our eyes open," Dixie said. They went further down when they spotted some anthromorpic crocodiles. Many of them were in different colors; green, blue, brown, gray, purple, yellow, and red. They all had spikes on their forearms, belts with a skull buckle and ocher pants. Leading them is a large blue muscular crocodile with an x on his belly. He has three white stripes on both arms, chains around his wrists, red eyes, and yellow shorts with a skull belt. His bongos are chained, are spiked on the top and bottom, and have a blue "X" on the sides. "It's Kludge and a bunch of Kritters!"
"What are those Kremlings up to?" Diddy asked. A dimesional door opens as a dozen Kremlings in different shapes and sizes step out. Some of them resembles Kritters, but has light green underbellies and lip piercings(Kobble). There are some obese Kremlings that are purple and has a yellow belly. They all wore green military helmets with three chevrons. They are also wearing a green belt with five pockets and a pair of black boots (Klump). They took out loads of hexagonal gemstones. They were all green, red, blue, purple, yellow, gold, silver, orange, and black. There all in different sizes as well. Kludge takes a green one and he examines it.
"Good work. King K. Rool sure made good use of these Rupees. And we can use them to buy what we want," Kludge said. The two young Kongs looked at each other dumbfounded.
"What's a Rupee?" Diddy asked. The female Kong shrugged her shoulders.
"These are way better than those golden bananas," one of the Kritters said. He attempted to take one, but Kludge grabs the Kremling grunt by the arm.
"Nobody touches it until the king inspects them! Got it?" Kludge asked. The Kritter nodded as Kludge threw him down to the ground. They follow the Kremlings to wherever they're going, not knowing that they were being watched by a pair of red eyes through the trees.
In the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario, Spyro, Yoshi, and Elora race through the land in pursuit of the captive princess and dragonfly.
"Gotta keep-a going! Gotta save-a the princess!" Mario said. A dimesional rift opens up and they all go through it, much to their dismay and they all end up in Hyrule.
"Shoot!" Spyro spat as the dimesional rift closes.
In Abel City, Silver had filled the Maverick Hunters and the leading Repliforce members in on what was going on.
"So, let me get this straight. You said that you came here from Mobius and you were pulled in by a dimesional door?" X asked.
"Yes, that's exactly right. I am not sure myself, but I can tell something is wrong since I arrived here," Silver exlpained.
"You think this has something to do with those Mavericks?" Axl asked.
"I'm sure of it. The Mavericks had been under our radar and we need to figure out what they're up to and pull the plug on them for good," Zero said. X and Axl were in full agreement. They knew any involvement with Sigma was a very bad sign. The female Reploids were starting to worry.
"Where do we start?" Iris asked.
"We should go over the map and try to look into some clues," Signas said.
"Agreed. The more time we delay, the more time we give our enemies," the General said.
"Then, let's get started. We should head to the last know scene. Maybe, there could be something we missed," X said.
"You sure, X?" Alia asked.
"I'm sure, Alia. We can't afford to to sit around and do nothing," X said.
"Then, you're going to need my assistance. I can help out using my telepathic powers," Silver said, lifting up Iris's hat to demonstrate. "I'll try not to get in the way."
"Very well. Let's go! X, Zero, Axl! You three look into the scene where the rogue members of the Repliforce were seen and report your findings!" Signas ordered.
"Roger!" The three Maverick Hunters said. The General turned to the Colonel.
"You go as well, Colonel," the General said. The Colonel saluted.
"Yes sir," the Colonel said. Iris was filled with even more worry for both Zero and her brother.
"Zero, brother, please be safe," Iris pleaded. Colonel placed his hand on his sister's shoulder.
"You mustn't worry so, my sister. I'm going to be alright," Colonel said.
"Me too. There's nothing I can't handle," Zero said. Iris smiled affectionately at him. Layer gave her a glare.
"It should be me and Zero. I'm a much sexier Reploid than she is," Layer said with her cheeks puffed up. Pallette chuckled a bit, knowing she was jealous of Iris.
The four Reploids and psychic hedgehog headed out for their mission. Unknown to anyone, a short and tubby Reploid was listening in on them. His face is pudgy and his body shape is almost entirely spherical, giving him an unintimidating and goofy appearance. His armor is yellow and brown, and his helmet has a mouth guard that somewhat resembles that of an American football helmet. He possesses a belt around his waist with several red capsules attached. He presses the com on his chest.
"Double to home-base. Double to home-base. The Hunters and the Repliforce getting wise to us. And on top of that, a hedgehog with psychic powers shows up. X, Zero, Axl, the Colonel, and the hedgehog are heading to where Spiral Pegasus, Storm Owl, and Frost Walrus were seen. Should I shut them down?" Double asked.
"No. This gives us a much better opportunity. Continue to spy on them and report your findings," a voice spoke through the com.
"Roger," Double said, cutting the transmission. He picks up some boxes and he slips and fell, catching the attention of Signas, the navigators, and the General. "Oh, not again!"
"Honestly, Double! Can't you go five minutes without making a mess?!" Alia exclaimed.
"I'm very sorry. Let me get this here and there," Double said. "Here we go." He stacked the boxes pretty high.
"Are sure you wanna do that, Double? It looks like more than you can handle," Pallette said.
"It's fine. Really. It's nothing I can't handle," Double said as he slipped and fell, dropping the boxes once again. "Oh, shoot!" Alia just sighed as Iris felt sorry for him.
"That Double is just accident-prone," Layer said.
Over to Mega Man and Rush, Mega Man lands to search for Proto Man. Rush returns to his standard form and joins him in the search for his brother.
"Blues. Where are you?" Mega Man asked. Suddenly, without warning, the ground begins to quake. "Rush!" The robotic dog barks as something large emerges from the ground below. It was a large robot designed built like a Steelix, but it has arms. "What the?! What is that?!" Mega Man fires at the robot, but his buster's shots are reflected by the solid steel body. "No good. My Mega Buster isn't making a dent on it!" The Steelix robot slams its arms onto the ground. Mega Man jumps out of the way of the assault. Mega Man decides to try something else. His armor changes to suit the weapon he chooses. The armor is on Ice Man's design and and fired arrowhead-shaped blade of ice eight at the robot "Ice Slasher!" The weapon did nothing. He tried again and takes on Elec Man's design. "Try this on for size! Thunder Beam!" Mega Man fires three beams of electric energy. It struck the robot Steelix, but it had zero effect on it. "It didn't work?!" He had to try again and he took on Cut Man's design. "Okay, third time's a charm! Rolling Cutter!" Mega Man threw extremely sharp scissor blades like a boomerang, but the scissors breaks upon contact. "No way!" Just then, an arrow of light struck the robot. Mega Man turned to see Pit, Shantae, Crash, Sky, Bolo, Rottytops, Coco, and Aku Aku coming to his aide.
"Here comes the cavalry!" Shantae shouted.
"Thought we lend a hand!" Pit said.
"I appreciate it!" Mega Man said. The robot fires all sorts of missles at the group. Everyone scatters as the missles follows them. Crash slides as a missle cuts through the soil, locked onto his heat signature. Crash then spins and knocks the missle back. The missle heading for Rottytops is struck by the one chasing Crash and explodes upon contact.
"Crash and burn!" Rottytops said. Coco rolled her eyes.
"Really?" Coco deadpanned.
They kept running from the missles when they all heard a whistle from out of nowhere. Mega Man recognized that sound. Just then, a robot designed like Mega Man shows up. He has a red helmet, buster, and leggings, a gray body and is wearing a yellow scarf. He has shades and white streaks on his helmet. He fires at the missles. Mega Man knew exactly who he was.
"Who is he?" Pit asked.
"Proto Man!" Mega Man said happily.
"That's Proto Man?" Shantae asked.
"Seriously, who came up with these names?" Sky asked. Proto Man fires his energy blasts from his buster and it destroys the missles. He turned to Mega Man.
"Rock! That thing's weakness is fire! Use one of your fire weapons!" Proto Man said.
Mega Man nodded, "Okay!" Mega Man changes his design again and it's Fire Man's design. "Fire Storm!" Mega Man shoots a fireball forward and causes a small flaming orb to circle Mega Man. It struck the Steelix robot and burns the armor. The robot then explodes. Mega Man's reverts to his normal armor. "Thanks for the tip, Proto Man. We would have been goners if you hadn't shown up."
"Why are you here?" Proto Man asked. He looked at the otherworldly visitors. "And who are they?"
"Long story. I need you to come back home. We need your help," Mega Man said. Proto Man nodded as he knew something wasn't right.
Over on Mobius, Luigi and Daisy are standing before Tails and several other anthromorphic animals. One is a blue hedgehog wearing a pair of smooth red shoes with pointed toes, white sock-like cuffs, a white strap over their middles, and distinct gold buckles on the sides. He also wore white gloves with sock-like cuffs on his hands. Another is an echidna with red fur that covers most of his body, peach skin on his muzzle, a white crescent-shaped patch of fur on his chest, and purple eyes. He also has seven dreadlock-like spines on his head and a medium-sized, tri-crooked tail. He also wore red and yellow shoes, each with green cuffs and a grey, sextuple-bolted plate on top. He also wore large, white, mitten-like gloves with sock-like cuffs and two spiked knuckles on each hand. Another is a female pink hedgehog green eyes and peach skin on her muzzle and arms. She has a small black nose and back spines. She also has two medium-length eyelashes on each side of her eyes. Additionally, her five short head quills point downwards, somewhat resembling a bob cut. She also has three spikes for bangs on her head, and a short tail. She wore a red, sleeveless, backless dress with white trim, tall red boots with a white stripe down the center and white cuffs, a red hairband, and white wrist-length gloves with gold bracelets for cuffs. And finally sitting in a chair next to the blue hedgehog is a brown chipmunk with dark auburn hair that connects to the stripe going down her back and ending on her tail. Her face has a lighter brown patch in which her large blue eyes are settled. Her clothes consist of black shorts with white rimming, dark blue boots with white outlines on the buckles, and white gloves with Ring-Blades she wore a closed blue vest with a black crop-top hidden underneath. Her tan-colored underbelly can be seen in her midriff.
"So, you said that your name is Luigi and you and Princess Daisy were out on a date in Sarasaland, which is a land neighboring the Mushroom Kingdom and then a some weird door had suddenly appeared and sucked you in," the chipmunk surmised.
"Yes," Luigi said.
"We didn't mean any harm," Daisy said.
"It kinda sounds like what happened to Vector and the rest of his team," the blue hedgehog said.
"Somehow, this has Eggman's stink all over it," the echidna said. The chipmunk looked right at the echidna.
"We don't know if that's true or not, Knuckles. It could be anyone else we know," the chipmunk said. Knuckles turned to the chipmunk.
"What else is there, Sally? Eggman is just as capable to have a handle on it!" Knuckles argued, slamming his fist on the table.
"Hey, calm down, Knucklehead. Don't wanna break the table again," the blue hedgehog said.
"I told it's Knuckles! Knuckles! Not Knucklehead! I know you're just doing that on purpose, Sonic!" Knuckles exclaimed. Sonic stuck his tongue out at the echidna. Luigi leans to Tails.
"Is it always like this?" Luigi asked.
"Sonic and Knuckles may go at each other's throats, but they're good, good friends," Tails said. Sonic continues to taunt Knuckles, making him grit his teeth. Sally spoke up.
"That's enough, you two. Knuckles might be right. Dr. Eggman is the most likely suspect. But there's also Doctor Finitevus as well. And maybe the Dark Legion. We can't take any chances here," Sally said. She turned to the pink hedgehog. "Amy, have you heard anything back from Bunnie or Antoine since yesterday?"
Amy replied, "No, but we should be expecting them at any moment. Until then, we can hope nothing happened."
"So can we, Amy," Sally said. She looked to the plumber and princess. "Sorry you had to hear all that. We should make your stay a little more comfortable."
"Thank you," Daisy said.
"I think I could use a rest," Luigi said. Sally led them outside. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy were all alone as they discuss about Luigi and Daisy.
"So, think there's something between those two?" Tails asked.
"How could not be, Tails? They were so digging on each other," Sonic said.
"It's not natural. She's a princess. Shouldn't she be engaged to a prince or maybe the son of duke or a count?" Knuckles asked.
"Luigi may not have been the ideal suitor, but it's kinda romantic when you think about it," Amy said. She gazes lovingly at Sonic and imagines herself as a princess and Sonic as her Prince Charming. "What a happily ever after we will have." Sonic looked at her confused.
"What's that, Amy?" Sonic asked.
"Nothing!" Amy quickly said. She got up and stepped outside.
"I just don't get her sometimes," Sonic said.
Sally led the princess and the plumber throughout town. Passing by, a small lop-eared rabbit with cream fur and brown eyes. She has orange/light brown markings around her eyes, on her head and at the ends of her ears. She wears a simple red/orange dress with a white collar and blue cravat, white gloves with gold cufflinks, and orange and yellow shoes. Her ears are usually swiveled back and flop behind her head. With her is a small blue fairy-like creature with small pink wings. It is wearing a red bow tie.
"Did you see that, Cheese?" The little rabbit asked.
"Chao, Chao, Chao," Cheese said.
"That lady has the prettiest dress I have ever seen," the rabbit said.
Sally entered the house with her guests behind her.
"Here we are. Sorry it's not as luxurious as what you're used to, Daisy," Sally said.
"Don't worry about it, Sally. It's fine," Daisy said.
"It's no different than my house," Luigi said.
"Just so you know, we'll do everything we can to send you back home," Sally assured them.
"Thank you, Sally," Daisy said. Sally smiled and took her leave.
"If you need anything, just ask," Sally said. Luigi sighed with a hint of regret.
"Sorry if this is the worst date you've ever been on, Daisy," Luigi apologized.
"It wasn't that bad, Luigi. If I know Mario, he's probably trying to figure out a way to find us and bring us home," Daisy said. "Also, it's not your fault. Things just has an act of happening whether we have control over it or not. And just as long as we're through it together, then that's what really matters." Luigi felt better.
"Thanks Daisy. You're right. Mario and I had been in worse situations than this. I just hope Mario doesn't take too long to find us," Luigi said.
Back in Hoenn, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and Team Choatix found the island's Pokémon Center to rest up for the night. Team Chaotix all wore their disguises to avoid drawing attention to themselves. Sora and Kairi had checked in their Pokémon along with Meowth as Morrison had just walked in.
"Morrison, hey," Sora greeted. Morrison looked and saw the couple.
"Hey Sora, Kairi," Morrison greeted back. "Didn't think that I bump into you so soon."
"Not since you rushed to find a Gym, which this island didn't have one," Sora said. Morrison chuckled sheepishly.
"Yeah, I kinda figured that. I only came here because Beldum is pooped from that our battle," Morrison said. He saw Team Chaotix in their disguises. "Are those your friends?"
"Yeah. They didn't want to draw attention to themselves. And we thought it was fine," Sora said.
"And we wouldn't want that to be spread around," Kairi said.
"It's cool," Morrison went to check in his Beldum and his other Pokémon. Sora and Kairi sat at a table as Kairi had prepared a recipe for spaghetti. Sora tried it and his tastebuds are swimming.
"Good as always, Kairi," Sora praised her. Kairi beamed, seeing her boyfriend enjoy it so much.
"Thank you, Sora. I'm happy to hear you say that," Kairi said.
"I bet I can like that more than you," Morrison challenged.
"If want a plate, all you had to do is ask," Sora said.
"You're welcome to have a plate if you want, Morrions," Kairi offered. She gave him a plate and he took a bite.
"Whoa! This is great! The best I had ever eaten!" Morrison said.
"Of course. Kairi's got the magic touch," Sora said.
"Sora," Kairi said, blushing.
"It's even better than the stuff from resturants. Where you learn that?" Morrison asked.
"My grandma taught me how to cook when I was little," Kairi. "I had a hard time when I first tried it."
"But she got better at it," Sora said.
"Just looking at the both of you, it's almost like you're a married couple," Morrison pointed out.
"That's one way of putting it," Sora said.
"So, where are those three other dudes?" Morrison asked.
"Kairi handed them a plate and they're eating it outside. Not allowed to eat them in any of the rooms," Sora said.
"Just how did you meet them anyway?" Morrison asked.
"We met them on an island that is inhabited by some Wynaut. They were following us right from when we were at Purika Town to see a friend at a Pokémon Contest," Sora explained.
"Until then, we had no idea that they were following us. We were surprised to see them at first, but it's even less weird when you're used to it," Kairi said.
"You said that they're from a totally different world. Is that right?" Morrison asked.
"Yes. They told us that they're from a planet called Mobius. A planet that is inhabited by animals that seems to be like us," Kairi said.
"How did they get here?" Morrison asked.
"Vector mentioned something about a dimesional door and they ended up here. Vector said that their friends on Mobius are probably working on a way to bring them home just as we promised to help them out anyway we can," Sora said.
"Whoa. That would freak me out if something like that happened," Morrison said.
"We haven't seen any doors opening or anyone from different worlds show up since then. It's been a long time since Johto," Sora said. Morrison got curious.
"What do ya mean?" Morrison asked.
"You hear about how weird Pokémon were appearing and disappearing?" Sora asked.
"Yeah. What about it?" Morrison asked.
"Those Pokémon are known as Ultra Beasts. They come in, we catch them and send them back. You don't wanna imagine what kind of damage those things can do," Sora said.
"So, those rumors aren't bogus after all. I heard some rumors about some alien Pokémon coming and leaving in the Johto region, but I didn't actually believe it," Morrison said.
"Well, hopefully, you wouldn't have to," Sora said.
Through the course of the evening, Sora and Kairi had shared some stories to Morrison about their past experiences. They told him about how Meowth is with them in the first place. They told him about Jessie and James starting with how Sora and Kairi met them right up to their deaths.
"So, they just followed you around just to take your Pikachu?" Morrison asked.
"Yeah. They just never seemed to give up," Sora said.
"Man, how is that not annoying?" Morrison asked.
"Thank you!" Sora said, laughing. He then stopped laughing and sighed. "During our last confrontation with Team Magma and Team Aqua, Jessie and James said they turned over a new leaf when they found out that their buddies in Team Rocket just left them to rot."
"We thought that was terrible. I just can't understand how those people could live with themselves," Kairi said.
"I just don't know. But, if Team Rocket ever messes with me, Kairi, or our Pokémon, then we'll make them sorry that they ever did," Sora said.
"Just can't believe there are people like that where you're from," Morrison said.
"Tell me about it," Sora said. Nurse Joy approached the trio.
"Excuse me. Your Pokémon are all fighting fit," Nurse Joy said, handing them their Pokémon. Meowth rejoined the couple.
"And what a treatment I got. Those Chansey are miracle workers," Meowth said.
"Glad that you enjoyed it, Meowth," Sora said. He yawns. "I don't know about you, but I'm think it's time to hit the sack."
"Same here," Kairi said. Morrison yawns.
"Yeah, see you in the morning," Morrison said, heading outside.
"Hey Morrison, where are you heading now?" Sora asked.
"Going to sleep. What do you think?" Morrison asked.
"You know you're heading outside, right?" Meowth asked.
"Yeah, beacause that's where I sleep. Outside," Morrison said.
"Outside?" Kairi asked.
He led the couple and the Pokémon to the trees he is going to sleep in. Team Choatix sees them and goes up to them. They spot a hammock up in the tree.
"See, I sleep up in the trees," Morrison said.
"Aren't you worried about falling off?" Kairi asked.
"Nah, never happens. There's nothing like sleeping in the top of a tree," Morrison said. "Of course, you wouldn't know."
"Maybe, if I experienced it myself, I would know," Sora said. "Just, how do you get up there?" Morrison smiled and took out his Pokéball.
"With this," Morrison said. He threw it in the air. "Beldum!" His Beldum comes out and floats down to Morrison. "Beldum takes care of me." He grabs Beldum and floats up to the hammock. "Do you guys wanna sleep here too?"
"I think I'm rather attached to my pillow," Meowth said.
"I'm not a good climber," Vector said.
"I can fly up without any problems," Charmy said.
"And I am a natural born tree climber," Espio said.
"I think I can have a hand in it," Sora said. He turned to Kairi. "You can sleep in the Pokémon Center if you want, Kairi." She shook her head.
"I think it's best that I share a hammock with you, Sora. That's if he has one big enough for the both of us," Kairi said.
"Sure thing. It can fit you both," Morrison said. He pulled out the hammock and got it ready for the both of them. Sora and Kairi got comfortable along with Pikachu and Angel. "Hey Sora, I gotta say that you're lucky."
"How?" Sora asked.
"I mean that you're lucky that you have such a pretty girlfriend," Morrison said. Kairi giggled.
"Thank you. That's what Sora says to me constantly," Kairi said.
"Just don't get any ideas about stealing her away," Sora said. Morrison laughed.
"Don't worry, I won't," Morrison said.
"I gotta hand it to you, sleeping in a tree is pretty cool," Sora said.
"And it's nice bein' surrounded by so many friends," Morrison said.
"What do you mean?" Sora asked.
"You know, the stars in the sky and the leaves whispering to you. Wild Pokémon are everywhere, and of course there's Beldum and my other Pokémon. Lots of friends, old and new," Morrison said.
"I see what you mean, Morrison. A lot of friends," Sora said. Sleep took the three of them. In the next morning, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and Team Choatix made a stop on the island to some practicing for the Hoenn Pokémon League. Sora decided to have a sparring match between Lairon and Vibrava. "Okay guys! Let's do this thing! Lairon! Metal Claw! Vibrava! You dodge it!" Lairon comes to swipe at Vibrava, but dodges with ease. "That's a great dodge, Vibrava! Now use Dragon Breath! And Lairon, you try to dodge!" Vibrava fires Dragon Breath as Lairon avoids it as well. "Lairon! Iron Head! Let's go!" Lairon comes at Vibrava with his head giving off a metallic glow. "Vibrava! Dodge and use Dig!" Vibrava avoids Lairon's attack just by digging. Lairon looked around for Vibrava. "Keep your cool, Lairon. That's a trick your opponent will use on you." Lairon nods. Lairon waited for a few moments before Vibrava comes out from underneath and sends Lairon on his back. Lairon then gets back on his feet. "Good work, guys." With that said, the two Pokémon kept going on their training when they started to evolve. Sora was stoked to see his Lairon was now an Aggron and Vibrava is now a Flygon. "Wow! Two evolutions in one day. You guys are doing super!" Aggron and Flygon both beamed. Just then, Morrison shows up.
"Well, if it isn't you again?" Morrison asked. "What are you doing here?"
"Just doing some training. Shouldn't you be heading for that Gym?" Sora asked.
"Boats not gonna head to Sootopolis City until later, so I got time," Morrison said. He spotted the Aggron and Flygon with him. "Hey, are those yours? Your Lairon and Vibrava evolved!"
"Just a little while ago," Sora said.
"Whoa, they look so cool, but not as cool as my Pokémon!" Morrison said, taking all six of his Pokéballs and threw them. "Come on out, everyone!" The Pokéballs opens to reveal a Steelix, a Gligar, a Growlithe, a Swampert, and a Girafarig along with his Beldum. "What do you think?"
"Looks like you took loads of care of these," Sora complimented.
"Thanks. And I can that they;re much stronger than yours," Morrison challenged. Sora rolled his eyes.
"Does everything has to be a challenge to you?" Sora asked.
"Okay, that's enough, you two. Let's get it done before we get carried away," Kairi said.
"Fine," Sora and Morrison both said.
The three of them kept up with their training. During the training sessions, Kairi's Bellsprout, Sentret, Mareep, and Baltoy all evolved. Kairi's newly evolved Flaaffy was a little brighter and has pink wool. And her tail orb turns green.
"Wow, four evolutions all at once. And that's a pretty cool Claydol you've got, Kairi said. The newly evolved Claydol beamed at the compliment.
"Thanks," Kairi said.
They spent several hours training hard. As the sun sets, Morrison has boarded a ship bound for Sootopolis City.
"Well, guys, I'm on my way to go earn my eighth Gym Badge," Morrison said.
"Knock 'em dead, Morrison," Sora said.
"And we're on our way to Slateport City," Kairi said.
"That's right, you're entering the Grand Festival," Morrison said.
"And then it's off to Evergrande City for the Hoenn Pokémon League," Vector said.
"Good luck in the Grand Festival, Kairi. And I'll be seeing you over in Evergrande CIty, Sora!" Morrison said.
"You too, Morrison. Just don't lose your cool in your Gym battle," Sora said. "Safe trip."
"Bye, you guys!" Morrison said, waving at his new friends. They all wave back at him. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and Team Choatix all board the ship bound for Slateport City for Kairi to enter the Grand Festival. She hoped to see May there since she worked so hard to get there. Sora was behind her one hundred percent. Meowth was nervous about seeing the couple's families since he didn't get off on the right foot at first, but they were with him all the way.
How well will Kairi fare in the Grand Festival? Will Kairi and her Pokémon give it everything they got or will they be eliminated in the first round? Let's wait and see in the next chapter to find out.
