I never created Superman characters.
Amos started to tilt his head to the side when Kara glanced at the starry sky by the Smallville farm.
''A wish should come true if you see a shooting star,'' Kara said.
''Oh. What are you going to wish for? Replacing the sermon papers you wrecked as a prank earlier this week?''
Kara turned to Amos and frowned. ''No.'' One smile appeared. ''The wish won't come true if I say anything.''
''I see.''
''Are there any other reasons why you're outside?'' Kara asked.
''There are usually hungry or territorial animals wandering. I thought I would protect you if any of them appeared.''
''I have super strength and speed no matter what,'' Kara muttered.
Amos tensed when a dark form appeared. He scowled the minute one large animal was revealed. He watched as it bared its fangs.
Amos stepped to one side the minute it snapped at him. ''Oh. One hungry animal.''
After Amos turned to Kara, he wished to protect her. He wrapped his arms around Kara even when the animal attacked him.
Amos cried out as his back was scratched. Scowling, he focused on Kara's wide eyes. He attempted to smile.
''A father always protects his daughter.''
The long coat was ripped to shreds. His blue boxers were revealed.
Amos collapsed in Kara's arms before she scowled near the creature. He looked back. The corner of his mouth went up and wobbled as the
animal left. ''I'm going to be fine,'' Amos muttered. He was carried to his bedroom. Placed on his bed.
Kara turned to a window and viewed a shooting star. Her smile returned.
It was the next day when Amos healed and smiled.
Kara remembered the shooting star from the previous evening.
