Episode 280: Three For Three Hoenn Style!
It was now the day of the three-on-three rounds. Once that was done, the remaining 32 trainers will advance to the finals. Sora exchanged Torkoal, Turtonator, Vikavolt, and Mimikyu for Sceptile, Swampert, Armaldo, and Pelipper. Sora and Pikachu stood with Kairi, Angel, Meowth, the Pichu, Riku, Naminé, Eevee, Azurill, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Lillie, Elio, Selene, Brendan, May, Max, Wally, Team Chaotix, and Morrison to see how it's going to go down."So, which stadium is Sora going to be in?" Ventus asked.
"According to this, Sora's battle is going to be in Stadium A today, and that's going to be the second battle. Brendan and Wally will be having theirs in Stadiums C and E at the same time as the first ones. And Morrison will be having his as the fourth one being held in Stadium A," Max said.
"Cool, we'll be at the same stadium!" Morrison said.
"Yeah, but mine is before yours," Sora said.
"Yeah, I know, but I'm still going to win!" Morrison said. "You best do the same, Sora!"
"You can count on that. I have my support right here!" Sora said placing his hands on Kairi and Ventus's shoulders.
Brendan and Wally both won the battles they were assigned to. May watched as she cheered for her boyfriend. Max just rolled his eyes. Sora was up next as he stepped into the battlefield.
"Now, coming in live in Stadium A, our second battle is about to begin! Stepping in is Sora Ketchum from Pallet Town!" The announcer announced as the crowd cheered. Stepping in the ring as well is a teenage boy wearing a red shirt and black pants he wore black shoes to go with it. He has dyed blonde hair and tannish-brown eyes. "And stepping into the ring to challenge Sora is Seji the Mad Dog Sawamura from Oldale Town!" Seji looked into Sora.
"So, that's the Pokémon League Champion of Kanto and Johto, huh? He's gotta be good if he made it this far," Seji said.
"As a reminder, this section of the tournament will permit trainers to use three Pokémon each. Substitutions are permitted anytime by anyone and the battles will be over when all three are unable to continue!" The announcer announced. Sora and Seji took out a Pokéball and got ready to toss them.
"Go! Breloom!" Seji shouted as his Breloom came out sharing its trainer's expression. Sora knew which one to start things off with.
"Go! Blaziken!" Sora shouted as he threw his Pokéball. Blaziken came out ready to battle.
"Seji has chosen Breloom as Sora chose Blaziken! Both are Fighting Type Pokémon, both Blaziken has the advantage in battle!" The announcer announced.
"Let the battle begin!" The referee shouted.
"Blaziken! Begin with Blaze Kick!" Sora ordered. Blaziken comes at Breloom with a burning kick.
"Breloom! Mach Punch!" Seji ordered. Breloom lands a fast punch onto Blaziken with tremendous force. "Now use Power-Up Punch!" Breloom lands a strong punch and raises Breloom's attack power.
"Breloom counters Blaziken with Mach Punch and followed by Power-Up Punch! Now Breloom's attacks will come in stronger!" The announcer announced.
"Two can play this punching game! Blaziken! Fire Punch!" Sora ordered. Blaziken comes at Breloom with a burning punch.
"Breloom! Mega Punch!" Seji ordered. Both landed punches onto each other. Blaziken and Breloom kept on punching and punching.
"This is incredible, ladies and gentlemen, this battle is somehow turning into a boxing match!" The announcer announced. Watching the battle is a woman with long black hair and wearing glasses and has the same tannish-brown eyes. She wore a white trench coat and short skirt.
"Just like that little brother of mine. Always has to turn it into a fist fight," the woman said.
"Breloom! Use Dynamic Punch!" Seji ordered. Breloom comes at Blaziken, ready to deliever another punch onto Blaziken.
"Dodge and use Sky Uppercut!" Sora ordered. Blaziken dodges Breloom's Dynamic Punch and gives Breloom a powerful uppercut. "Now use Flame Charge!" Blaziken came at Breloom and delivers a powerful burning charge, much more powerful than when he was a Combusken and a Torchic. Breloom takes damage from that attack, The blaze Pokémon's speed builds up as well.
"Blaziken lands a Sky Uppercut and follows up with a Flame Charge! Blaziken's speed increases from time it is used!" The announcer announced.
"Breloom! Power-Up Punch!" Seji ordered.
"Fire Punch!" Sora ordered.
Blaziken and Breloom lands a punch onto each other. Breloom did some more damage as Power-Up Punch increased his attack some more.
"Both of these Pokémon are really going at it! Blaziken and Breloom have given each other another punch onto one another and both are still standing!" The announcer announced.
"Mega Punch, Breloom!" Seji ordered.
"Blaziken! Use Sky Uppercut when Breloom gets close!" Sora called out. Blaziken waited for the mushroom Pokémon to get close enough and lands another uppercut on it. "Great! Now! Use Blaze Kick!" Blaziken lands a powerful Blaze Kick onto Breloom and Breloom falls backwards like it was a fighting game. Breloom lands on the ground.
"Get up, Breloom!" Seji called out. Sitting in the stands, a girl with short green hair and and blues stood up.
"Don't give up, Breloom!" The girl shouted. Breloom slowly gets back up and ready to keep going.
"It looks like Breloom wants to stay in this battle! Despite suffering from its injuries, Breloom wants to finish this, no matter what happens!" The announcer announced.
"Breloom! Mach Punch!" Seji ordered. Breloom launches itself towards Blaziken to land a punch.
"Blaziken! Fire Punch!" Sora ordered. Blaziken ran towards Breloom to land a punch. The two Fighting Types both landed a punch onto one another. Blaziken and Breloom both fell, resulting in a draw.
"Breloom and Blaziken are both unable to battle! This round is a draw!" The referee announced.
"Sora and Seji both suffered a loss and two left in preserve!" The announcer announced. Sora and Seji calls back their fallen Pokémon.
"Get some rest, Blaziken. You earned it," Sora said.
"You put up one hellujah fight, Breloom. Rest up," Seji said. Both had taken out a Pokéball and got ready to throw it. "Your turn now, Magmar! Turn up the heat!" He threw his Pokéball and his Magmar enters the battlefield.
"Go! Armaldo!" Sora shouted as his Armaldo enters the battlefield as well.
"Seji's second Pokémon is his red-hot Magmar and Sora's second Pokémon is the prehistoric Pokémon, Armaldo!" The announcer announced.
"Magmar! Begin with Fire Punch!" Seji ordered.
"Armaldo! Use Crush Claw!" Sora ordered. Armaldo comes at Magmar with a swipe at Magmar. Magmar ducks and lands a punch on the plate Pokémon.
"Armaldo's Crush Claw misses and Magmar lands a Fire Punch on the mark!" The announcer announced.
"Now use Rock Smash!" Seji ordered. Magmar comes at Armaldo and slams its fist into him.
"Armaldo! Use Brine!" Sora ordered. Armaldo fires a ferice water attack onto Magmar, causing some damage.
"Armaldo strikes back with Brine! A super effective hit!" The announcer announced.
"Now, use X-Scissor!" Sora ordered Armaldo comes at Magmar and lands a blow onto the spitfire Pokémon.
"Armaldo is doing a number on Magmar! It looks like it could be all over!" The announcer announced.
"Now, use Stone Edge!" Sora ordered. Armaldo slams his claw into the ground and several stone pillars rises up and struck Magmar.
"Finish it with Brine!" Sora ordered. Armaldo fires Brine and it struck Magmar and the water attack sends Magmar into a wall, earning a knockout.
"Magmar is unable to battle! Armaldo wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora has now taken the lead! What hope does Seji have to deal with this ancient Pokémon?" The announcer asked.
"Man, this kid is touger than I thought. Scheris and Renton were no pushovers either," Seji said in his thoughts.
"Now, which of his Pokémon is Seji going to send out next?" The announcer asked. Seji took out his next Pokéball.
"Your turn now, Snorlax!" Seji called out. His Snorlax comes out and has a completely different personality than Sora's Snorlax. This Snorlax looks more interested in fighting than eating and sleeping. "Hope you're ready for this, Sora! My Snorlax is the toughest Snorlax you'll ever face!" Sora looked at Armaldo.
"You still good to go?" Sora asked. Armaldo nodded. "Great! Use Stone Edge!" Armaldo slams his claw into the ground as several stone pillars came out of the ground once more.
"Snorlax! Come down with Heavy Slam!" Seji shouted. Snorlax jumps much to Sora's surprise. His sister knew her brother saved Snorlax for last on purpose. Snorlax came down fast towards Armaldo.
"Snorlax is coming down fast! Armaldo has nowhere to run!" The announcer announced.
"Armaldo! Try to dodge it!" Sora called out. It was too late because Snorlax came down fast and hard. Snorlax got back up and Armaldo was flattened like a pancake. The referee raises the red flag.
"Armaldo is unable to battle! Snorlax wins!" The referee announced.
"Now it's all tied up! Both have one Pokémon left to use!" The announcer announced. Sora looked over to Pikachu.
"You go for it, Pikachu," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu nodded and goes on in.
"And Sora's final Pokémon is Pikachu! Will bigger trump over smaller or will it be the other way around?" The announcer asked.
"He sent out a Pikachu? What does he plan to do?" Seji asked.
"Pikachu! Start up with Elctro Ball!" Sora ordered. Pikachu forms a ball of electricity and hurls it right at Snorlax.
"Dodge!" Seji called out. Snorlax simply dodges by stepping aside.
"What a dodge! Seji is sparing no expense!" The announcer announced.
"Now use Heavy Slam!" Seji ordered. Snorlax jumps to deliever a heavy blow from Snorlax's body. Sora knew with Snorlax's weight, it could do loads of damage to any Pokémon when struck, just like with Armaldo.
"Pikachu! Try to dodge it!" Sora called out. Pikachu ran as fast as his feet could carry him.
"If Snorlax lands a successful blow onto Pikachu, then it's all over! What can Sora hope to accomplish?!" The announcer excalimed. Snorlax slams into the ground and misses Pikachu in the process. Seji was shocked to see Pikachu was unharmed by Snorlax's attack.
"WHA?! No freakin' way! Pikachu managed to get away from Snorlax?! No one's been able to do that!" Seji exclaimed.
"A miracle on Sora's part! It manages to avoid Snorlax's Heavy Slam!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, Heavy Slam's not gonna work on that Pikachu. So, instead, I'll have to try another way! Snorlax! Focus Punch!" Seji ordered. Snorlax starts to build up some focus and comes towards Pikachu to land a hit.
"Now Snorlax is coming at Pikachu with a Focus Punch!" The announcer announced.
"Pikachu! Thunderbolt! Full power!" Sora ordered. Pikachu launches a Thunderbolt and it gives the raging sleeping Pokémon quite a shock. Snorlax manages to lose its focus, but Snorlax was starting to get really angry.
"Snorlax takes a Thunderbolt assault and is still standing!" The announcer announed.
"Snorlax! Use Take Down!" Seji ordered. Snorlax comes at Pikachu with a full force of its body.
"Dodge it, Pikachu!" Sora called out. Pikachu manages to avoid Snorlax's attack just by running and Snorlax kept coming after Pikachu. "Man, how can something so big and heavy run so fast?!"
"Snorlax is coming at Pikachu with a Take Down! This is the first time I have ever seen a Snorlax run so fast!" The announcer announced. Sora had to think of something. He then got an idea. He remembered Pikachu riding on Mega Charizard Y, so he hoped it might work with Snorlax. He figured Seji would tell Snorlax to use Heavy Slam to finish the job, so he figured he could try Thunderbolt while in mid-air.
"Pikachu! Get on Snorlax!" Sora called out. Pikachu jumped onto Snorlax's face. Snorlax tried to grab Pikachu, but he moved on top of the sleeping Pokémon's head.
"Now Pikachu is on top of Snorlax's head! Snorlax is trying to get Pikachu off, but it doesn't seem to be working!" The announcer announced.
"This is not gonna work! Gotta end this now! Snorlax! Heavy Slam!" Seji ordered. Snorlax jumps into the air and does a flip. Snorlax comes crashing down.
"Seji really wants to end this, because his Snorlax is using Heavy Slam head-first to get Pikachu off!" The announcer announced. Sora smirked as he got what he wanted.
"Gotcha! Pikachu! Thunderbolt! Full power!" Sora ordered. Pikachu gave Snorlax a powerful shock. Snorlax screams as the shocks had become too much for it since it was much stronger than the last time. Pikachu gets off at the last minute before Snorlax makes a landing, making the whole stadium shake. The snack vendors even spilled all the snacks when Snorlax made contact on the ground.
"Snorlax! Get back on your feet!" Seji called out! Snorlax manages to get back up on its feet, despite being beaten and bruised.
"Snorlax manages to get back up on its feet and still rariing to go!" The announcer announced. Snorlax struggled to take one step.
"Pikachu! Iron Tail!" Sora ordered. Pikachu jumped and does a spinning Iron Tail, landing the finishing blow onto Snorlax, making it fall back down to the ground. Snorlax was down and out. The referee raises the green flag.
"Snorlax is unable to battle! Pikachu wins! The winner is Sora!" The referee announced.
"And Sora has brought it to a close!" The announcer announced. Seji was all pale when he lost the battle.
"I... lost..." Seji said.
The crowd cheered hard as Sora had won the battle. Watching the battle is a girl around fifteen years old. She has short brown hair and brown eyes. She wore a white t shirt with red short sleeves and blue jeans. She wore black shoes.
After the battle, Sora joined up with his friends as they were witnessing Morrison's battle. Morrison had already lost Steelix and Girafarig in battle.
"Okay, Metang! Wrap it up with Meteor Mash!" Morrison ordered. Metang lands a Meteor Mash on a Zangoose, earning a victory.
"Zangoose is unable to battle! Metang wins! Morrison wins the battle!" The referee announced.
"And Morrison brings it home with a Meteor Mash!" The announcer announced.
"Thank you! Thank you!" Morrison called out to the cheering crowd.Morrison rejoins everyone when the batttle was over. "How was that, you guys?"
"You really kept the crowd wanting more," Brendan said.
"We all got two more battles to win when if we're gonna make it in the finals," Wally said.
"I know, I know. We don't need you to remind us all the time, Wally," Morrison said.
"But Wally's right. You guys need to be on your toes if you wanna stay in this," Riku said.
"In other words, you can't afford to let your guard down," Terra said.
"Right," Sora said.
It was now the very next morning as Sora was having his battle in Stadium B. Brendan, Wally, and Morrison were all having theirs right at the same time. Brendan is in Stadium E, Wally is in Stadium D, and Morrison is in Stadium C. Kairi, Angel, Meowth, the Pichu, Riku, Naminé, Eevee, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Lillie, Elio, Selene, and Team Choatix were with Sora as they have a look at the trainer Sora was battling. It turns out to be girl who was watching the battle with Seji.
"So, the trainer I'm against is someone named Haruhi, huh? She had to be good if she made it this far," Sora said.
"I'm not a judge on skills, but I did work hard on where I am now," Haruhi spoke up. "You're Sora, aren't you? I just wanted to come by and wish you luck before we got started."
"Yeah, you too, Haruhi," Sora said. They both shook hands.
Everyone went to Stadium B as Sora gets set for his battle. He was going to go with Pelipper, Sceptile and Swampert. The battle was about to begin as everyone was taking their seats. Sitting among the crowd were six young men. One has pale-blonde hair and violet eyes. He is tall and slender and he is wearing a creamed-colred shirt and black jeans. He wore black sandals with orange straps. Another has black hair and brownish-gray eyes. He wore rimless glasses as he looking into his laptop. Two more happens to be twins. They both have messy auburn red hair and they wore almost the same clothes, but the colors are reveresed. Being red and whie. Another is small and child-like. He is holding a pink plush bunny. He has honey-blonde hair and hazel eyes. And finally, being the tallest one of the group has short black hair and dark gray eyes. He has a serious expression.
"So, Kyoya, what's the deal with the trainer Haruhi is battling?" One of the twins asked.
"Accodring to the information on the database, Sora Ketchum has come out on first in the P-1 Grand Prix, the Whirl Cup, Poké Brawl, the Pokémon Flute Cup, and the Pokémon Leagues in the Kanto and Johto regions. Word is that he is in a relationship with Kairi, who had recently won first in the Hoenn Grand Festival and came in first in the Poké Maiden Tournament held in the Johto region long before that. I have been doing mounds of research and I manaed to see he has an impressive collection of Pokémon. There are some that are pretty rare to find in Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn that are in his possession, being like the Mimikyu, Mudsdale, Turtonator, and Vikavolt as we witnessed," Kyoya said.
"He doesn't look all that good to me," the other twin said.
"Don't be so sure, Hikaru. Sora is no slouch in battle. HIs victory against Sawamura has impressed me," Kyoya said.
"And his Pikachu is really cute, isn't it?" THe baby-faced boy asked.
"Yeah," the tallest boy said.
"Of course you would say that, Honey. Kaoru and I are still skeptical," Hikaru said.
"I mean look at his hair. It's so spiky and garish," Kaoru said.
"And look at what he's wearing. All that baggy clothing. No fashion sense," Hikaru said. Kyoya looked at the pale-blonde boy.
"Tamaki, you've been quiet. Is something on your mind?" Kyoya asked.
"It's just seeing her down there making me nervous. Haruhi has never been in a tournament like this before and I could only worry," Tamaki said.
"I'm sure she will do fine. This battle should be entertaining to watch," Kyoya said.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the first battle here in Stadium- B is about to begin!" A girl's voice announced. The boys got all wide-eyed when they heard her voice.
"Renge?!" The boys exclaimed.
Taking over as the announcer is a girl who appears to be fifteen years old. She has mid-back length dark-blonde hair and dark-brown eyes. She has a reddish-violet bow in her hair. She is wearing a red shirt and a black skirt along with brown boots.
"My name is Renge Houshakuji, and I will be deilivering you the play-by-play in this battle today! Coming in from Pallet Town, you know him and love him! Let's give it up for Sora Ketchum, the Pokémon League Champion of Kanto and Johto!" Renge announced. The crowd cheered for Sora as he made his entry. "And coming in to challenge Sora in this bout is Haruhi Fujioka from Ecruteak City!" The crowd cheers as she made her entry. Both Sora and Haruhi each took out a Pokéball and got set to get started.
"Go! Pelipper!" Sora called out as Pelipper makes his entry.
"Go! Nigoking!" Haruhi called out as her Nidoking makes his entrance.
"Sora has sent out Pelipper and Haruhi has chosen Nidoking! Sora's Pelipper has the advantage since it's a Water Type Pokémon and Nidoking is a Ground Type Pokémon! How does Haruhi hope to match that?!" Renge exclaimed.
"Begin!" The referee announced.
"Nidoking! Begin with Smart Strike!" Haruhi ordered. Nidoking comes at the pelican Pokémon with his horn glowing silver.
"Pelipper! Protect!" Sora ordered. Pelipper forms a protective barrier around himself and Nidoking's attack bounces off.
"Pelipper uses Protect to block Smart Strike! Lucky on the first attack!" Renge announced.
"Pelipper! Use Wing Attack!" Sora ordered. Pelipper flew down to Nidoking to strike him with his wings.
"Nidoking! Dodge and use Thunder!" Haruhi ordered. Nidoking dodges Pelipper and then fires Thunder to strike at Pelipper.
"Haruhi takes advantage of Pelipper's vulnerability to electric attacks with Thunder!" Renge announced.
"Protect again!" Sora ordered. Pelipper uses Protect and Thunder bounces off. Sora knew Prtoect won't help in a third row so he had to play it smart.
"What a save! Protect again!" Renge annoounced.
"Pelipper! Use Hydro Pump!" Sora ordered. Pelipper fires Hydro Pump to strike at Nidoking and making good use of Nidoking's weakness to water.
"Dodge and use Poison Jab!" Haruhi ordered. Nidoking jumps and lands a poisonous punch onto Pelipper.
"Nidoking lands a brutal blow with Poison Jab! Pelipper's going to feeling that in the morning!" Renge announced.
"Not bad, Haruhi! You raised your Nidoking right!" Sora complimented.
"Thanks!" Haruhi said.
"But one of us is moving on! Pelipper! Use Blizzard!" Pelipper fires Blizzard. The Blizzard was coming too fast and Nidoking got hit bad.
"Now Sora has taken the advantage of Nidoking's weakness to ice with that Blizzard!" Renge announced.
"Now, use Wing Attack!" Sora ordered. Pelipper comes down fast at Nidoking.
"Dodge it and use Thunder!" Haruhi ordered. Nidoking dodges and launches Thunder, shocking the pelican Pokémon. "Now! Use Poison Jab!" Nidoking comes in to deliever Poison Jab on Pelipper.
"Protect!" Sora called out. Pelipper creates a protective barrier around himself and Poison Jab bounces off. Sora calls back Pelipper.
"Now, Sora's calling back his Pelipper! What Pokémon does he have to turn the tables on Nidoking?" Renge asked. Sora took out Swampert's Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Swampert!" Sora called out as his Swampert makes his entrance.
"Sora has chosen Swampert! Nidoking's Thunder will have zero effect it since its a Ground Type!" Renge announced.
"Nidoking! Smart Strike!" Haruhi ordered.
"Swampert! Muddy Water!" Sora ordered. Swampert fires Muddy Water and lands a hit onto Nidoking, earning a knockout.
"Nidoking is unable to battle! Swampert wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora has taken the early lead as Swampert had finished what Pelipper has started with Muddy Water! Haruhi is now down to two Pokémon left in preserve! What can she use against this behemoth?" Renge asked. Haruhi took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Honchkrow!" Haruhi called out as her Honchkrow made its appearence.
"Haruhi's second Pokémon is a Honckrow! Is Sora going to make a switch or will he be sticking with Swampert?" Renge asked. Sora calls back Swampert. "Sora is calling back Swampert! So, which one is he sending out?" Sora takes out Pelipper's Pokéball since he decided it should be a sky battle.
"Pelipper! Back to action!" Sora called out. Pelipper comes back to out battle.
"Sora sends Pelipper back out to play! What we're seeing is a battle between two different bird Pokémon!" Renge announced.
"Honckrow! Use Feint Attack!" Haruhi ordered.
"Protect!" Sora ordered.
Honchkrow disappears as Pelipper forms a protective barrier. Honchkrow's Feint Attack fails as the crow-like Pokémon failed to land a hit because of Protect.
"Honchkrow came at Pelipper with Feint Attack, but blocks with Protect! Sora must have known Feint Attack can't be dodged!" Renge annoucned.
"Good defense, Sora!" Haruhi parised her opponent.
"And that was a good attack! Pelipper! Use your Blizzard!" Sora ordered. Pelipper fires Blizzard to strike at Honchkrow.
"Pelipper sends out Blizzard right at Honchkrow! Will it hit?!" Renge exclaimed.
"Dodge and use Dark Pulse!" Haruhi ordered. Honchkrow dodges Pelipper's Blizzard and fires Dark Pulse and it lands a hit.
"Honchkrow dodges Blizzard and comes back with Dark Pulse! An upset for Sora's part!" Renge announced.
"Now! Use Brave Bird!" Haruhi ordered. Honchkrow comes flying at Pelipper with its body surrounded by a bird-shaped aura.
"Pelipper! Use Protect!" Sora ordered. Pelipper forms a protective barrier as Honchkrow comes flying at Pelipper and lands a blow. Brave Bird bounces off, but Honchkrow still suffers recoil damage.
"Haruhi tries to land a hit with Brave Bird, but Pelipper got lucky with Protect! Lucky break for Sora!" Renge announced. Pelipper was getting exhausted from the battle. The assault he got from Nidoking was one thing, but the battle with Honchkrow was really doing its number on Pelipper.
"Honchkrow! Dark Pulse!" Haruhi ordered.
"Pelipper! Blizzard!" Sora ordered.
Honchkrow and Pelipper fire their attacks and they both hold on as the two attacks resulted in an explosion. It crerates a smokescreen that covers the whole battlefield.
"Honchkrow and Pelipper put too much effort in those attacks! Which one will still be flying after that?!" Renge exclaimed. The smoke clears to see both Honchkrow and Pelipper were both down.
"Honchkrow and Pelipper are both unable to battle! This round is a draw!" The referee announced.
"Sora remains in the lead as Haruhi is now down to one Pokémon! Will Sora win this match or will Haruhi make a comeback?! I am at the edge at my seat! I am anxious to see what happens next!" Renge announced. Sora took out Swampert's Pokéball and threw it.
"Swampert! Back to action!" Sora called out as Swampert makes his entrance once again.
"Sora has sent out Swampert! Now it's Haruhi's turn!" Renge announced as Haruhi took out her last Pokéball.
"Ninetales! Go!" Haruhi called out as her Ninetales made its entrance. It was an Alolan Ninetales.
"Haruhi has sent out an Alolan Ninetales! What are the odds of that?!" Renge exclaimed.
"Oh man, an Alolan Ninetales. If I send out Sceptile, he'll be at a huge disadvantage, especially with him having Dragon Claw since the Alolan Ninetales is also a Fairy Type. Also, I could be in for some nasty surprises from this one," Sora said in his thoughts.
"NInetales! Begin with Frost Breath!" Haruhi ordered. Ninetales blows out a cold breath of wind with sparkles and heads for Swampert.
"Swampert! Hammer Arm!" Sora ordered. Swampert avoids Forst Breath and jumps and swings his arm down at Ninetales.
"Dodge use Freeze-Dry!" Haruhi ordered. NInetales charges an orb of light blue energy in between the horns on its mouth. It then fires a beam of light blue energy from the orb at Swampert. This causes such heavy damage to the mud fish Pokémon.
"And Ninetales lands a powerful Freeze-Dry on Swampert! Super effective on Water Type Pokémon!" Renge announced.
"You okay, Swampert?" Sora asked. Swampert nodded and gives his trainer a thumbs up. "Great! Use Waterfall!" Swampert comes at Ninetales while surrounded by water.
"Dodge and use Hail!" Haruhi ordered. Ninetales avoids Swampert and calls on a gray cloud as it starts hailing. The hail pelts Swampert.
"Haruhi's Ninetales has set up Hail and now its ability, Snow Cloak, has activated! As many would know, it boosts a Pokémon's evasion while in a hail! Also, since Swampert isn't an Ice Type Pokémon, it should do some damage on it!" Renge announced.
"She must have been setting me up for this. That Ninetales is not only fast, but strong. Gotta end it fast," Sora said. "Swampert! Come at Ninetales with Hammer Arm!" Swampert jumps towards Ninetales to deliever Hammer Arm on the white fox Pokémon.
"Ninetales! Dodge and use Freeze-Dry!" Haruhi ordered. Swampert misses as Ninetales avoids Swampert's Hammer Arm. Swampert was about to use Hammer Arm when Ninetales fires Freeze-Dry and it struck Swampert, making him freeze from the neck down. Swampert fell to the ground and the ice shatters. Swampert shivers from the intense cold. The referee raises the red flag.
"Swampert is unable to battle! Ninetales wins!" The referee announced.
"YES! Ninetales puts an end to Swampert just before it got a chance to deliever Hammer Arm! Sora just has one more left to turn this around and his last chance to turn it all around!" Renge announced. Sora took out a Pokéball and held it firmly.
"Can't use Dragon Claw because it's a Fairy Type Pokémon. But, Sceptile's got some other moves I can use," Sora said, He threw his Pokéball. "Go! Sceptile!" His Sceptile came out and puts his twig in his mouth.
"Sora's last Pokémon is Sceptile! Ninetales has the advantage since being an Ice Type against a Grass Type! This is an easy win for Haruhi!" Renge announced. Watching on TV is a man wearing a bandana, white t shirt that reads "Daddy" on it, blue skinny jeans and sandals.
"Make daddy proud, honey," Haruhi's father said.
"Sceptile! Seed Bomb!" Sora ordered. Sceptile fires Seed Bomb right at his opponent.
"Ninetales! Dodge and use Forst Breath!" Haruhi ordered. Ninetales avoids Sceptile's Seed Bomb and fires Frost Breath.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Sceptile runs to avoid Frost Breath. Haruhi was impressed by the speed the forest Pokémon was going. "Now use Leaf Blade!" Sceptile comes at Ninetales with his leafy appendages turns into blades.
"Dodge it! Hurry!" Haruhi called out. Sceptile came too fast for Ninetales to dodge as Sceptile lands a clean hit on the white fox Pokémon.
"Sceptile avoids Frost Breath with Quick Attack and follows up with a Leaf Blade! Sceptile is faster than I expected! Just watching this makes me wanna eat three bowls of rice!" Renge exclaimed.
"I may not be a good judge of strength, but that Sceptile looks well trained. Sora probably did loads of time training it for this," Haruhi said in her thoughts.
"Leaf Blade again!" Sora ordered. Sceptile got Leaf Blade ready to swipe at Ninetales.
"Dodge and use Freeze-Dry!" Haruhi ordered. Ninetales creates Freeze-Dry to strike at the forest Pokémon. Sceptile waited for the attack to come close enough. Once Freeze-Dry was close enough to him, Sceptile uses Quick Attack and it struck the ground instead. Tamaki and the others were awestruck by how fast Sceptile was able to avoid the Ice Type attack.
"Sceptile avoids Freeze-Dry with lightning speed! How fast is that Sceptile?!" Renge exclaimed.
"Quick Attack and Leaf Blade! Left to right!" Sora ordered. Sceptie combined Quick Attack and Leaf Blade with a combination of speed and power. Ninetales was quickly overwhelmed by the ferocity of Sceptile's attacks.
"Now, Sceptile is bombarding Ninetales with Leaf Blade and Quick Attack, again and again and again! I don't think I can turn away from this even if I wanted to!" Renge announced.
"One more Leaf Blade! Go!" Sora called out. Sceptile lands one last Leaf Blade right at Ninetales and it has fallen on the ground, beaten. The referee raises the green flag.
"Ninetales is unable to battle! Sceptile wins! The winner is Sora from Pallet Town!" The referee announced.
"And it's Sora who wins the bout!" Renge announced as the crowd cheers hard. When the battle was over, Haruhi walked over to Sora to congratulate him.
"Congratulations on winning, Sora. You deserve to win after that," Haruhi said, smiling. Sora smiled back.
"Thanks Haruhi. You're pretty tough yourself," Sora saidm shaking her hand.
Sora went to the Pokémon Center and he met up with Brendan, Wally, and Morrison at the same place.
"Made it, Sora?" Morrison asked.
"I did. What about the rest of you?" Sora asked.
"We all did," Brendan said.
"Now, we each have one more to get in the finals," Wally said.
"Let's hope we don't end up against each other before that," Sora said.
WIth that said, they rested for the night as Sora got set for his next battle. He made a switch on his team. He exchanged Pelipper, Blaziken, an Sceptile for Cacturne, Camerupt, and Dustox. Sora was having his battle in Stadium B as the third battle as Brendan and Morrison were having their battles in Stadiums A and E as the second battles, while Wally was having his in Stadium C as the fourth. Sora enters Stadium C got his three Pokémon ready for this.
"Ladies and gentlemen, our second battle right here in Stadium C is about to begin! Enetering in first is Sora Ketchum from Pallet Town, the Pokémon League Champion of Kanto and Johto," the announcer announced. Stepping in is a girl with peachy skin and long and puffy pink hair. She has blues eyes and yellow ribbons in her hair. She wore a yellow dress, long white leg socks, and black shoes. "And entering the battlefield is Momoko from Goldenrod City! We are in for an exciting battle!" They both entered their posiotions. They both took out a Pokéball and readied themselves to battle.
"Go right in, Dustox!" Sora called out. Dustox flaps out and ready to battle.
"Go! Beautifly!" Momoko shouted as her Beautifly has entered the battlefield.
"Momoko has chosen Beautifly and Sora has chosen Dustox! Both originate from Wurmple and now we see them on the same battlefield! This should be interesting!" The announcer announced.
"Dustox! Bug Buzz!" Sora ordered. Dustox flaps his wings, creating a soundwave.
"Beautifly! Block with Silver Wind!" Momoko ordered. Beautifly flapped its wings and it blocks Bug Buzz.
"Beautifly makes good use of Silver WInd and blocks Dustox's Bug Buzz with Silver Wind!" The announcer announced.
"Not bad!" Sora called out.
"You've seen nothing yet! Beautifly! Quiver Dance!" Momoko ordered. Beautifly body begins to glow white. It then starts dancing around Dustox, leaving behind afterimages of itself.
"Beautifly captivates its opponent with a Quiver Dance! Now, its Special Attacks, Special Defense, and Speed stats will be increased for each time it's used!" The announcer announced.
"Man, this is going to be much harder since Beautifly is going to be moving so fast. Gotta try to play it smart," Sora said. "Dustox! Venoshock!" Dustox fires Venoshock right at the butterfly Pokémon, but misses. Dustox fires Venoshock again, but he misses again.
"Dustox is having a hard time keeping up with Beautifly's speed! Unless Dustox know Quiver Dance, it won't be able to keep up!" The announcer announced.
"Gotta get a lock on Beautifly. But how?" Sora asked.
"Beautifly! Energy Ball!" Momoko ordered. Beautifly forms a ball of green energy and hurls it to Dustox.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. The attack came too fast for Dustox to dodge. "Dustox!"
"Beautifly sends a super charged Energy Ball right at Dustox! That has got to hurt!" The announcer announced.
"Energy Ball again!" Momoko ordered. Beautifly fires another Energy Ball and it lands a hit onto Dustox, causing some heavy damage.
"Beautifly isn't going to take it easy on Dustox, especially after giving it some heavy hits!" The announcer announced. Sora had to turn it around somehow.
"Energy Ball one more time!" Momoko ordered. Beautifly fired Energy Ball once again.
"Beautifly has fired another Energy Ball! It looks like it's all over!" The announcer announced.
"Dustox! Block with Psychic!" Sora ordered. Dustox blocks Energy Bll using Psychic.
"Wait a minute! Dustox is blocking Energy Ball by using Psychic! The tables has to be turning!" The announcer announced.
"Send it right back!" Sora called out. Beautifly sends Energy Balol right back at Beautifly, finally landing a hit. Momoko gasped.
"Beautifly! Oh no!" Momoko gasped.
"Now use Venoshock! All Over the place!" Sora ordered. Dustox fires Venoshock everywhere, keeping Beautifly from going from one place to another. Beautifly tried to keep going, but it was getting hit everywhere it went.
"Dustox is giving Beautifly a shower of Venoshock! Momokos' Beautifly is in real distress!" The anouncer announced.
"Now, use your strongest Bug Buzz!" Sora ordered. Dustox flaps and sends out a much stronger soundwave and struck Beautifly hard, maing the butterfly Pokémon hit the ground. Beautifly was down and out. The referee raises the green flag.
"Beautifly is unable to battle! Dustox wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora once again takes the lead! Momoko better come up with something fast!" The announcer announced. Momoko calls back her Beautifly.
"Get some rest, Beautifly. You have earned it," Momoko said. She looked over to Sora as she took out another Pokéball. "Here we go! Your turn now, Corsola!" Momoko threw the Pokéball and her Corsola came out. It was light blue. Stars swirls around it upon entry.
"Momoko's second Pokémon is a Corsola! It's a Shiny Corsola for one!" The announcer announced.
"Isn't my Corsola the cutest?" Momoko cooed. Sora calls back Dustox since he was at a disadventage and he was tired from the battle with Beautifly. He took out Cacturne's Pokéball.
"Go! Cacturne!" Sora called out as his Cacturne makes his entry in battle. Corsola was frightened of Cacturne's appearence.
"Now, Sora's second Pokémon is a Cacturne! Now it's a prickly situation for Momoko and her Corsola!" The announcer announced.
"Scary or not, Cacturne is going down! Corsola! Use Spike Cannon!" Momoko ordered.
"Cacturne! Block with Piin Missle!" Sora ordered. Cacturne fires Pin Missle to block Spike Cannon. The both kept on firing, resulting in small explosions.
"It looks like we have a stand off between the two! Cacturne and Corsola are locking on and keep on going!" The announcer announced. They both stopped firing their attacks.
"Corsola! Use Icy Wind!" Momoko ordered.
"Cacturne! Dodge and use Needle Arm!" Sora ordered. Corsola blew Icy Wind and the scarecrow Pokémon avoids it and lands a Needle Arm on Corsola. "Now! Use Dark Pulse!" Cacturne fires Dark Pulse and it sends Corsola against a wall.
"Cacturne pelts Corsola with Needle Arm and delievers a Dark Pulse surprise! How will Momoko recover from that?" The announcer asked.
"Recover, that's right. Corsola! use Recover!" Momoko ordered. Corsola heals its injuries as a golden-yellow aura surrounds its body.
"Corsola heals with Recover!" The announcer announced.
"Now use Spike Cannon!" Momoko ordered.
"Cacturne! Fire with Pin Missle!" Sora ordered. Cacturne fires Pin Missle again and they are in the same stand off as before. Sora had to figure maybe if Cacturne fires more Pin Missle than usual. "Keep up that Pin Missle!" Cacturne increased the Pin Missles and the Shiny coral Pokémon was having trouble catching up with him.
"Cacturne is keeping up with Pin Missle and Corsola is having trouble keeping up!" The announcer announced.
"Now, use Needle Arm! Again and again!" Sora ordered. Cacturne kept swinging his arms and pelts Corsola hard. Sora figured Corsola won't be able to use Recover when being hit constently.
"Cacturne is giving it to Cacturne and it won't be able to recover fully!" The announcer announced.
"Now! Dark Pulse!" Sora ordered. Cacturne gave Corsola another Dark Pulse and pushes Corsola back. Corsola didn't have enough energy to heal itself and was taken out. THe referee raises the green flag.
"Corsola is unable to battle! Cacturne wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora remains in the lead as Momoko is down to one!" The announcer announced. Momoko calls back Corsola back and takes out one more Pokéball.
"Been saving the best for last! Go! Hatterene!" Momoko shouted as she unleahes a Pokémon Sora had never seen before. It's a pink Pokémon that looks like a witch with a small body and long hair. It has a three-fingered tentacle on the back of its head.
"Momoko's final Pokémon is a Hatterene! Such a rare Pokémon outside the Galar region!" The announcer announced.
"Hatterene? Looks like Hatenna and Hattrem. Better have a look at this," Sora said, taking out his Pokédex to scan this new Pokémon.

It emits psychic power strong enough to cause headaches as a deterrent to the approach of others. If you're too loud around it, you risk being torn apart by the claws on its tentacle. This Pokémon is also known as the Forest Witch.
"A Pokémon with an appearence like that, it's no wonder it's called that," Sora said.
"Hatterene! Use Dazzling Gleam!" Momoko ordered. Hatterene fires Dazzling Gleam and it struck Cacturne hard, causing some heavy damage. Cacturne was taken down. The referee raises the red flag.
"Cacturne is unable to battle! Hatterene wins!" The referee announced.
"Momoko finally takes down one of Sora's Pokémon! What will Sora do to turn this around?" The announcer asked.
"I could use Dustox, because he's a Poison Type. It's a good and a bad thing. Also, he's too worn out from that battle with Beautifly. I'll have to risk it," Sora said. He took out Dustox's Pokéball and threw it. "Dustox! Back to action!" His Dustox enters the battlefield. Dustox was battered from the battle with Beautifly.
"Dustox is sent back out and looks pretty tender from that battle with Beautifly! Can it keep going after taking so muh hits?" The announcer announced.
"Dustox! Venoshock!" Sora ordered. Dustox fires Venoshock right the silent Pokémon. Hatterene took the hit. "Now, use Bug Buzz!" Dustox flaps his wings and it lands a hit onto Hatterene.
"Dustox is coming at Hatterene with Venoshock and Bug Buzz! Dustox may have some fire left burning after all!" The announcer announced.
"Hatterene! Psychic!" Momoko ordered. Hatterene uses Psychic to take control of Dustox and send him flying. Dustox hits against the wall, earning another knockout. The referee raises the red flag.
"Dustox is unable to battle! Hatterene wins!" The referee announced.
"Momoko makes a comeback, taking down two of Sora's Pokémon! Now both has one left to use! Will Momoko move in the finals or will Sora? This final round will prove it!" The announcer announced. Sora takes out Camerupt's Pokéball and he threw it.
"Your turn now! Go! Camerupt!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opens and Camerupt enters the battlefield and is ready to go.
"Sora's final Pokémon is a Camerupt! And a red hot one by the looks of it!" The announcer annoucned.
"That Camerupt looks scary and I thought his Cacturne was scary. I won't run away! I'm going to leave here a winner! Hatterene! Use Dazzling Gleam!" Momoko ordered. Hatterene fires Dazzling Gleam at Camerupt. The attack lands a hit, but he wasn't bothered by it one bit.
"Camerupt! Use Lava Plume!" Sora ordered. Camerupt lets out a loud roar as flames erupted from Camerupt's humps. The flames goes up into the air and come raining down. Hatterene gets hit by the flames.
"Camerupt comes back at Hatterene with Lava Plume!" The announcer announced. The attack leaves Hatteren burned. "It leaves Hatterene with a burn!" Momoko knew it was shoced to see Hatterene burned.
"Now! Use Overheat!" Sora ordered. Camerupt's body turns red and then, fires a stream of fire and it struck Hateerene hard.
"Camerupt fires Overheat at Hatterene! The first one is always the strongest one!" The announcer announced.
"Hatterene! Use Life Dew!" Momoko ordered. Hatterene sprinkles water on itself to heal, but got hurt from the burns.
"Hatterene recovers from its injuries, but that didn't stop the burns from taking effect!" The announcer announced.
"Now! Earthquake!" Sora ordered. Camerupt slams his front hooves down on the ground, making the whole stadium shake. Hatterene fell down to the ground.
"Try to use Psychic!" Momoko ordered.
"Camerupt! Lava Plume! Make it powerful!" Sora ordered. Camerupt fires Lava Plume and comes raining down once again. The attack lands a hit on the silent Pokémon as it resulted in an explosion upon contact.
"And that was a nasty Lava Plume on Momoko's part! It looks like it's all over for Hatterene!" The announcer announced. Hatterene had been taken down. The referee raises the green flag.
"Hatterene is unable to battle! Camerupt wins! The winner is Sora!" The referee announced.
"Sora moves on into the finals!" The announcer announced as Momoko had walked up to Hatterene and helped it up.
"You did good, Hatterene. Thank you," Momoko said. Hatterene then started crying. "Oh, don't cry. You did your best. That's all that matters. And that's all that should matter." Hatterene still had tears in its eyes, but it didn't feel bad about losing.
Sora had saw that Brendan and Morrison had won their battles, leaving only Wally. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, the Pichu, Meowth, Riku, Naminé, Eevee, Azurill, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Lillie, Elio, Selene, Brendan, May, Max, Morrison, and Team Choatix were watching Wally's battle. Gallade had taken down a Gengar using his Psycho Cut and earning a voctory. Wally had lost Azumarilol and Magnezone in battle. The referee raises the green flag.
"Gengar is unable to battle! Gallade wins! The winner is Wally!" The referee announced.
"And Wally moves on into the finals!" The announcer announced.
Everyone all celebrated their success with a feast. Haruhi and her friends joins the group on the festivities to congratulate them.
"Now that the four of us had made it in the finals, that means we use six Pokémon each. And you guys know what that means," Wally said.
"Yeah. Any one of us could be up against each other. So, we gotta be ready for that," Brendan said. Sora and Morrison looked at each other. Morrison just got even more fired up to win it.
It was now the day of the finals to officially begin. Sora, Brendan, Wally, and Morrison made in among the top 32 trainers. Sora exchanged Cacturne, Dustox, Swampert, Camerupt, and Armaldo for Sceptile, Flygon, Aggron, Salamence, and Sableye. He looked at the screen and he's up against a young woman with long green hair, going down her back.
"So, that's my next opponent, huh?" Sora asked.
"It says, her name is Katie and she's from Lilycove City. I doubt she's going to play nice with you, Sora," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said. Riku turned to his friend and rival.
"You think you can take her?" Riku asked.
"I can hold my own," Sora said. Riku grinned as he nodded.
"That's what I wanted to hear, Sora," Riku said.
Now that Sora, Brendan, Wally, and Morrison had made it right up to the finals, the challanges ahead of them will get even more intense from there. How will Sora manage against his next opponent. Just wait and you shall see!
